This made me realise how realistic Takato is as a character, cuz of his honest reactions
He's not idealised like Taiki or Tagiru, he can cry or panic when stressed cuz he's only a boy, but you can also see how he grew through the journey, and gained confidence

Headcanon: Scents
I can't find any scent guideline for my favorite characters, and I am quite sure there're no A/B/O fics in AO3. Although this's not for A/B/O, and just a headcaon, but you know what? Be the change you want to see.
"Fragrance": a light, comforting, chill, easy-to-notice scent that you will catch when passing over.
"Odor": a strong, clear, direct, hard-to-notice scent that you only can see when they are having strong emotions, with different shades based on their feelings.
"Smell": a specific, hidden, deep, important scent that you can't feel except when they are really close to you, see you as their important one, and have no caution to you.
Now for the list:
Yagami Taichi has a mixed scent of light peppermint fragrance, energetic dark chocolate odor, and chill cedarwood smell.
Motomiya Daisuke has a mixed scent of cloying honey fragrance, burnt bacon, and tender maple sirup smell.
Matsuda Takato has a mixed scent of viscous vanilla fragrance, spicy cinnamon odor, and soft bread smell.
Kanbara Takuya has a mixed scent of vibrating campfire fragrance, spicy barbecue sauce odor, and smoky coal smell.
Daimon Masaru has a mixed scent of amber fragrance, warm meatballs odor, and sharp brown sugar smell.
Kudou Taiki has a mixed scent of flour fragrance, tropical pineapple odor, and fresh green apple smell.
Akashi Tagiru has a mixed scent of new cupcake fragrance, zesty orange odor, and bitter ozone smell.
Shinkai Haru has a mixed scent of comforting lavender fragrance, old paper odor, and gentle plain yogurt smell.
Amanokawa Hiro has a mixed scent of soothing green tea fragrance, calming almond odor, and strong white chocolate smell.
If you think something can be improved, please comment! Hope you have a scentful day~

For the "I wish you would write!" and while you've already written a time loop invincible fic, which I still love so much (˘˘ ♡), I am still a sucker for time loop / time travel, so, I wish you would write another time travel/loop fic, however you wanted to go about it.
Or, if you haven't done a invincible crossover already, what would you choose and how would you go about it? I know this is more vague than the prompt asks for, but I'm just so curious, haha! (o^ ^o)
Haha that you should mention Invincible and time travel stuff, because I've actually thought about doing a few others. One where it's Debbie who is sent back into her body after everything and it basically turns into a (sadly) tamer version of Gone Girl while she tries to expose Nolan, another one where Mark ends up back when his parents first meet and goes through the whole 'but wouldn't the world be better if I didn't exist/can I be complicit in putting my mother through that/maybe if I don't exist dad wouldn't have left and then the world would have been really fucked and I have to make sure things work out or my planet is screwed and my happiness is worth my planet isn't it?' stuff lol I've also thought about doing Nolan's POV for my existing time loop fic, just so I could play around with exploring all the different ways he might react to watching his wife die without having to actually fridge Debbie. Nolan getting sent back is also such a neat idea to me, because depending on where in the timeline you send him from he could have some very fascinating reactions to getting his pre-reveal life back on Earth.
Maybe it's just because of the genre of it (and the fact I'm not actually super into comics or superhero stuff, the low hanging fruit of Inv crossovers lol) but there's very few things I think about actively crossing over with it? And I am a massive fan of fic crossovers tbh, so maybe it'll change and I'll think of something in the future. I mentioned it in another post recently, but I was thinking about doing a Lois and Clark crossover, because I do think Nolan and Clark interacting would be fun- not to mention Debbie and Lois- but the only other real crossover I've thought about was Doctor Who.
Ten and Donna were going to accidentally pick up/kidnap Debbie while she was drunk early post-Nolan reveal and the Doctor was going to be like, well, shit, need to get her back to Earth, she's important- and Donna was just like ?? We aren't leaving a drunk woman alone to choke on her vomit in a gutter are you insane?? And Doc would follow up with 'her emotional suffering is really important for this guy's character development later' and Donna would beat him with a shoe. Debbie would spend all of 5 seconds alone with the Doctor and be like 'ah, you're a compulsive lying alien conqueror too. neat' and he'd stfu and Donna would be like 'nice cold read, but that IS my friend and his self-esteem is actual trash so-' but really it would just give Debbie some breathing space and time to process stuff without having to worry about Mark et al and despite the life threatening nature of her adventures on the TARDIS she would have a better time than the life threatening shit that happens to her on Earth.
Rather than proper crossovers I lean much more 'full AU version' for Invincible ideas. Like, a BtVS one where Debbie is a slayer but due to stuff doesn't get noticed until she's in her 20s and the Council (Cecil) are definitely not people she wants to listen to and Nolan is basically Spike (asshole vampire who has to put the effort in to gain a soul)

More One Piece X Batman au ideas/hcs
Just more assorted ideas from this OP Batfam au here iv been playing with. All you have to know is the Batfam is now in the op world tho!
-Im leaving the og post with multiple options but im def leaning twords them having their own Pirate crew, and either ally with another canon crew or have ties to the Revs, or both. Im unsure on what they'd be called because the Bat Pirates or Bat and Bird Pirates is kinda lame lol so ill figure something out later, and also am open to suggestions!
I feel like they're very open about being Vigilante-Pirates, working like or with the Revs but still being Pirates. It catches on pretty quick for them, and later is a classification used for other similar crews. Also, yes they follow the Pirate Codes and learn the traditions! They mostly learned out of curiosity at first but learned how important it was and kinda just fell into them.
Here's the set-up on the crew for those with official position, though they do have a lot of crossovers (Any positions not specifically mentioned are just done by all the crew or when needed, or not needed at all);
Bruce is the Captain, and Navigator (Tho I feel like all of them learn how to navigate just in case). The crew mostly governs itself, but they learn more about the Pirate Codes and make sure to listen to their Captain when it's important because it's as much as about respect to their crew but also for other crews. They adapt pretty well to it tbh tho it takes a bit because being a pirate crew is largely very different from a Vigilante group.
Dick is the First Mate, and their Communications Expert/Diplomat. Ie he keeps track of allies, friends, man's the phones, er, snails? And is the one usually to socialize or mediate with both interpersonal and outside the crew. He does use swords, but doesn't consider himself the official Swordsman of the crew, that's Damian. (This is because I found out in older comics Bruce taught him to fight swashbuckler style, so he uses swords he switches out with his Escrima Sticks when needed)
Jason is their Gunner/Sniper and Cook, and he also is their Chronicler. He bitches a lot about the last two, but he refuses to let anyone take over the Cook role as he doesn't trust anyone else, but also enjoys writing their adventures down despite denying it.
Tim is their Information Gatherer and Chemist Expert, and knows the second most of Navigating. He and Bruce also are the ones who mostly make the weapons for the others, though most of them could if needed. He also shares Archaeologist duties with Bruce, though everyone partakes.
Cass is their Spymaster and Scout, and also "secret weapon" ie she kicks major ass and scares the shit out of their enemies cuz nobody expects the tiny half mute girl to be one of their frontline fighters <3
Stephanie is their Doctor, because I love the hc that she decides to become a Doctor and has been going to med school (and because I need someone to fill the position without Alfred here ^-^'), as well as their Tailor, though she splits that with Jason and Dick as needed. Though everyone knows Advanced First Aid due to their lifestyles.
I feel like Duke decides to pick up the position of Official Shipwright because they need someone to do so, and actually comes to really enjoy learning how to make and take care of ships properly.
Damian is their other Swordsman, due to his skill and pride in his swordsmanship. He is also their Beast Tamer, and secondary Spy. He's often thought to be a Cabin Boy, which pisses him off, but he's got actual positions on the ship, so he isn't despite his age. Some of the Old Guard have issues with how young he is, but it's not like anyone of them had a choice due to his past, and it's not like he hasn't earned the roles either. He's more experienced them most pirate crews!
They all switch out chores mostly evenly, Helm the ship, rigging, and do lookout duty, though often trade off when someone needs a break from the others due to the whole "trapped on a ship 24/7 hours together". Most of them know how to use instruments, so technically they all are the Musician, though they don't often do so. Damian plays his Violin the most, however, and has secretly enjoyed learning Sea Shanties to play. Dick is the one who bursts into song and knows almost endless sea shanties.
They're also all considered frontline fighters, which is strange for even a small pirate crew, but anyone can also easily switch to support or really any types of roles in a fight, which makes them even more odd. It's not often crews are very versatile, specially with how most of them can easily pick up the role or position of the roles another inhabits.
-At first I was unsure if they should ditch the costume or nah, but then I realized how hard it would to be to live in them like, 24/7 cuz they can't exactly treat this like patrol. Plus, wear and tear of the costumes would make it just unlikely they'd survive for the months or even years they're stuck in the OP world
So I decided that they do a mix-up. They keep a lot of their costume or costume elements but add more casual and piratey vibes in, both for comfort and style to fit in a little better, like these images.
Tumblr media
Bruce really didn't want to, same with ever taking off the masks or suits due to the risk of somehow being ID'd back in their world, but over time even Bruce has to admit they can't live in their suits or all call them only by their Vigilante names forever.
They still all wear masks for the most part, and how much they keep or get rid of varies between them, but yee.
Dick has a coat like above, but he also has a very nice black swashbucklers shirt he'll put over instead. Bruce was bullied into making his cowl only the top part of his face, but they got him a captains/swashbucklers hat that has similar bat ears on it as well to wear. They tried to find a Captain's coat that worked but in the end decided to stick with the cape.
Tim no longer has the full cowl of Red Robin but instead a half face one that also lets his hair free, and kept his "wing cape" and chest belts but overall went for something more casual but still armored.
Damian has changed the least with his Robin suit and refuses to really mess with it, though he will occasionally take the over-shirt off and wear a looser, more comfy shirt over the under-suit.
Uhhh the others I really don't have anything concrete but you get the idea for outfits lol
-The Whitbeards would really like them as pirates, they have soft spots for Crews that are Family, though they are not a fan of how young Damian is, even more so when they learn that apparently all the kids have been fighting since they were little, but eventually find out that Bruce liked it even less than they do, and he really had no other choice other than to teach them to do it safely then let them do it behind his back.
-Mihawk and Bruce would get along very well also btw

I've been on a real comic book kick lately. I'm mostly fixated on Batman at the moment ( his partner would totally be Cyberdramon btw, maybe tukaimon as the rookie stage ) but it got me thinking about how id love to see more collaboration between the western comics scene and the japanese manga scene, we've got a Naruto meets Ninja Turtles crossover coming soon, DC and Marvel already dabbled in manga and anime versions of their stuff, and we have various netflix adaptations of anime, and a few movies. Admittedly, I wish when it came to the western side of things, we'd stop doing so much live action and start doing animation and comics.
I'm getting rambling a little off topic here. It led me to think back, and I swear I have a memory of manga releasing as single floppy issues on american comic book racks. I distinctly remember Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Pokemon Adventures, and The Electric Tale of Pikachu all releasing each chapter as a single stand alone comic book. I just can't seem to find any evidence of this... but tell you what I do remember though...
These western adaptations of the Digimon Anime, mostly just a 1:1 recration, hand drawn, rather than, whatchacallem, those "Cinemangas" that used to take up space on the shelf at Borders.
Look at these fucking covers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love them so much. The composition of each one really has the attention grabbing energy that so many comics on store shelves had to have at the time. Although only 12 issues were published in the west, it looks like other territories got the whole she-bang, and even Adventure 02, Frontier, and Tamers got comics.
I'd love to see these all re-released in glorious full color, even if it's only digitally... however, we all know that's never going to happen. I'm sure these comics are wrapped in all kinds of legal red tape and Bandai probabl doesn't even know they exist.
That being said...
it would be so cool to see a brand new ongoing comic book in the west set in the world of Digimon. I know the western comic book scene has it's issues but one thing they do very well is explore an established canon from all sorts of different angles. And the best part is, purists who don't want this, don't have to read it.
And I'd kind of like a Tamagotchi comic too, that's kind of what I thought that "time travel" shell was at first, but alas. And I think that's even less likely than a Digimon Dark Horse reprint, because.. well I don't think a tamagotchi comic would sell even a little. We can't even get the anime subbed and fans aren't interested. No chance a comic book could happen.

Digimon Data Squad (Savers) - Episode 41
This was a decent episode, even though it was mostly exposition dumps and flashbacks. There's only so many episodes left so the plot has no choice but to progress now. Since it's a kids show I'm guessing Masaru's dad will come around somehow. I wonder if he's in some kind of trance? I bet there's yet another bad guy behind everything, as is the Digimon way lol.
Notes:
Still no explanation of what Masaru's dad's necklace is supposed to be. Maybe that's not important. It kinda looks like a cheap piece of plastic to me lol
Now that I've gotten a closer look Sleipmon's design is actually really majestic. Clearly based on Sleipnir from Norse mythology (which I only know about because of Marvel lol). It feels kind of weird that all the other royal knights are bipedal, but oh well.
Kinda thought the reaction to Satsuma being alive should have been bigger, but we all saw that one coming. Hope Kudamon ends up okay for his sake.
Seeing a Guilmon digivolution fight an Agumon digivolution was pretty cool. Felt like an Adventure x Tamers crossover.
Masaru gets to go on a solo adventure while the rest of the gang protect Earth. I feel like this kinda makes no sense risk-wise since Masaru and ShineGreymon have been the key to ending every battle lately, but oh well.
The "we should trust him because he's family" message was iffy at best...That's not a lesson that should be applied to abusive dads IRL is all I'm saying 😬

The State of the Digimon Franchise in the World of Digimon Tamers
Tumblr media
There is something rather interesting about Digimon Tamers in regards to the rest of the anime: The fact that the Digimon franchise at the very least exists within the universe. We know of course that there are Digimon games in this world, as well as the Digimon Card Game. If we go by the official blog by Chiaki J. Konaka, the first two seasons of the anime aired in this world - which is also referenced during several of the crossovers we got in later games and of course Digimon Xros Wars.
Ironically though the anime is not really referenced a lot in Digimon Tamers. Sure, we can read some of Takato's lines as references to it (like him saying that Guilmon should be at the very least as strong as Agumon and such), as well as that we know there are cards exiting in the series that are references to Adventure, but at no point does the show actually reference the anime.
However, given that Konaka confirms the existence of the anime in this world, I am just always gonna assume that yes, the anime does not in fact exist.
This does bring me to another question though. Or rather two questions that I always loved to ponder:
Is there another Digimon anime airing in the world of Digimon Tamers instead of Digimon Tamers in the year of 2001?
How does the Digimon franchise develop, after... you know? After Tokyo nearly gets destroyed by Digimon...?
See, here is the thing: From all we can tell the Digimon Franchise - at least until 2001 - is doing a whole lot better in the world of Digimon Tamers than in the real world.
All we know is, that the Wild Bunch created the code, with Keith McCoy being the one coming up with the entire rules for Digimon. And then at some point Bandai bought the rights to this - probably from the McCoys. (Did Keith and Rob get the money for this? We have to assume so, right?)
But despite Bandai being mainly Japanese, we know there are exclusive games for Digimon in the USA (like the one Jianliang gets from Jiang-yu in his backstory). Which makes me think that Digimon is a way bigger thing in this world, than it ever was IRL.
But if it is so successful as a franchise... We have to assume that there would be another Digimon season releasing in 2001, right? So, I kinda would love to think about what that show is. Because it is probably not Digimon Tamers.
The other question is, however, how the franchise develops after 2001. Because it certainly will do something to the franchise to have not only a confirmation that the fantasy of this franchise is actually a reality, but that also was responsible for at least some deaths. Because make no mistake: There are some people dying in Digimon Tamers. We have at least some confirmed deaths of the JDF during the D-Reaper attack on Tokyo, but there is a good chance that during some of the prior Digimon attacks this happened to.
Hypnos tried to keep the existence of Digimon a secret until Vikaralamon, but afterwards we know that the existence of Digimon is confirmed to the public. We do not really get to see a whole lot of the fallout outside of how it does affect Yamaki and the parents of the kids, because the kids are in the Digital World right after this. But by the time D-Reaper attacks, we see how the news paper titles go: "Is this Digimon related?" and stuff like that.
And to me it is super fascinating. What does this do to the franchise? How does the public relationship to Digimon as a franchise develop?
I will openly admit. When I wrote my old Digimon Tamers fics back in the day, I never really questioned this. For the sake of the story, I basically just went with: "Welp, the government did their best to sweep everything under the rug, and after about two years, things moved on as usual, and generally speaking the franchise evolved. Also Card Game Alpha, because the card designs were cool." But it is something I am almost sad about. Because it would have made for a real interesting basis of writing some speculative stuff.
Because I can absolutely see that there is some consequences happening. Especially given that we know that D-Reaper also appeared in other places, where there are probably no Digimon Tamers (due to SHIBUMI only distributing the Blue Cards in Tokyo). And yeah... Super interesting stuff for some worldbuilding.
(Also, never mind me: Just my hyperfixation for my childhood franchise reawakening...)

This is a thought I've been considering. Pre-writing my fics before posting means they will be done. But there's a chance that without engagement, I'll lose interest & go do something else (like resort my rewrites for the nth time). Writing them as I post means a slightly higher chance of engagement but it's not guaranteed & there's an even higher chance I'll get a new idea for the fic & I will have to pause the writing & it could take ages to actually be finished.
What's your opinion?

An Idol AU for our 9Digi-Protagonists~! Warning: maybe OOC. Please enjoy~
The city air, thick with the exhaust of evening traffic and the lingering aroma of street food, clung to Yagami Taichi like a second skin. He navigated the bustling sidewalks with an easy rhythm, headphones clamped over his ears, pumping out a high-energy rock anthem that vibrated through his bones. The driving beat matched his purposeful stride, a tangible manifestation of the restless energy that always seemed to simmer just beneath his cool exterior. His personal scent, a blend of refreshing peppermint, the deep richness of dark chocolate, and the grounding stability of cedarwood, trailed faintly behind him, cutting through the urban miasma. He wasn't looking for anything in particular, just walking, thinking, letting the music carry him.
He rounded a corner into a slightly less crowded plaza, where a makeshift stage stood bathed in the harsh glare of portable floodlights. On it, three figures moved with earnest, if slightly unpolished, energy, their voices straining to be heard over a tinny backing track. An idol group, small-time by the looks of the sparse, mostly indifferent audience. Taichi paused, pulling one headphone cup slightly away. Normally, this wasn't his scene. Yet, something about their sheer, unadulterated effort, the way they poured everything into reaching the handful of onlookers, struck a chord. It wasn't the performance itself, which was objectively mediocre, but the intent. The raw desire to connect, to uplift.
A thought, unbidden and sharp, pierced through the music still echoing in his other ear: They need more fire. It wasn't arrogance, exactly, but a leader's assessment, a quick-thinking evaluation of potential. He watched a moment longer, his gaze analytical. They lacked presence, confidence, that spark that could ignite a crowd. He, Taichi Yagami, had that spark. He lived and breathed it. The familiar surge of wanting to jump in, to take charge, welled up. What's the big problem here? he thought, a smirk playing on his lips. They just need someone to show them how it's done. The scent of peppermint sharpened around him, a precursor to action.
After the short set concluded to scattered applause, Taichi approached the tired-looking man packing up equipment at the side of the stage. He bypassed pleasantries, his usual directness taking over. "You need help," he stated, not unkindly, but with undeniable confidence. "Your guys have heart, but no punch. You need someone who can actually command attention." The man, startled, looked Taichi up and down. Taichi just grinned, radiating an easygoing certainty that was hard to dismiss. The dark chocolate note in his scent seemed to pulse with latent energy. "What if I told you I could bring that?"
The news spread through Taichi's network – mostly via Agumon, who thought the whole idea was hilarious but loyally supportive – and inevitably reached Motomiya Daisuke. "Idol? Taichi-senpai? No way!" Daisuke initially scoffed, the scent of burnt bacon momentarily flaring around him in disbelief as he slurped ramen at his usual haunt. But beneath the bluster, insecurity gnawed. Taichi-senpai, his idol, doing something so… flashy? He had to see it. He needed to understand. Mostly, he needed to be involved.
Daisuke crashed one of Taichi’s initial ‘consultation’ sessions, which had somehow morphed into Taichi demonstrating moves with more charisma than the original group combined. Daisuke burst in, loud and indignant, ready to challenge the absurdity of it all. "Senpai! What is this? This isn't like you!"
Taichi just laughed, that easygoing, slightly teasing laugh. "Relax, Daisuke. Just checking out a new battlefield. Needs a strategy, right?" He gestured towards the others. "Think you could keep up?"
The challenge, combined with the desperate need for Taichi's approval, was too much for Daisuke to resist. He stumbled through a few steps of the simple choreography, tripping over his own feet, face flushed red. His usual scent of cloying honey intensified with exertion and embarrassment, mingling awkwardly with the burnt bacon of his flustered state. Yet, there was an undeniable, puppy-like earnestness in his movements. Taichi saw it, that raw, emotional drive. "Not bad, kohai," Taichi conceded, the cedarwood in his scent softening slightly. "Needs work, though. A lot of work." Daisuke preened, despite the qualifier, the tender maple syrup aspect of his scent momentarily surfacing – a flicker of simple, validated joy.
Finding others wasn't a systematic recruitment drive; it was more like a series of chaotic collisions orchestrated by chance and Taichi’s expanding, somewhat impulsive, vision.
Matsuda Takato was discovered sketching furiously in a notebook at a small cafe, Guilmon (somehow smuggled inside) peeking out from his bag. A talent scout associated with the small agency Taichi had informally attached himself to noticed the gentle intensity in his eyes, the way his fingers moved with quiet dedication. Takato, initially bewildered and overwhelmed by the offer, clutched his sketchbook like a shield. The air around him smelled softly of viscous vanilla and the comforting scent of the fresh bread Guilmon was undoubtedly dreaming of. He was soft-spoken, easily flustered, his thoughts racing with imaginative scenarios – him on a stage? Impossible. Yet, the idea of creating something, of bringing characters and emotions to life, resonated with the part of him that poured feelings into fanart and fanfiction. The spicy cinnamon undertone in his scent pulsed with a hesitant curiosity. He agreed, mostly out of politeness and an inability to firmly say no, propelled by a quiet desire to step into a story larger than his own.
Kanbara Takuya literally ran into Taichi during a pursuit through city alleys – Takuya chasing some minor troublemakers, Taichi taking a shortcut. The ensuing confusion, a tangle of limbs and indignant shouts, ended with Takuya impressed by Taichi's quick reflexes and Taichi recognizing Takuya's raw, untamed energy. "You move well," Taichi commented, dusting himself off. "Ever thought about channeling that energy into something… louder?" Takuya, hotheaded and always up for a challenge, grinned recklessly. The air crackled around him, smelling intensely of vibrating campfire and smoky coal. "Louder? Like what? Blowing stuff up?" His thoughts were already racing ahead, imagining explosions of sound and light. The spicy barbecue sauce note flared as he readily agreed, seeing it as another adventure, another way to prove his fiery spirit.
Daimon Masaru was encountered challenging a street performer who used amplified drum beats, claiming the performer lacked "fighting spirit." Masaru, loud, confrontational, and radiating an almost palpable aura of warm meatballs and sharp brown sugar, easily overpowered the performer's rhythm with sheer vocal force and fist-pounding enthusiasm. Taichi, drawn by the commotion, saw not just arrogance, but raw, unadulterated power and a strange sense of honor. He stepped in, not to fight, but with a different kind of challenge. "Think you can handle a real stage, street fighter? Put that power where people can actually feel it?" Masaru scoffed, the scent of amber rising defensively. "Stage? That's for weaklings!" But the idea of a new kind of fight, a contest of presence and energy, appealed to his confrontational nature. He joined, mainly to prove he could dominate any arena, his mind already framing it as a battle to be won.
Kudou Taiki was helping organize a local community event when Taichi’s fledgling group was booked for a small, unpaid slot. Taiki, effortlessly coordinating volunteers, smoothing over logistical hiccups, and radiating a calm, capable energy that smelled subtly of clean flour and sweet, tropical pineapple, observed their chaotic rehearsal with a strategist's eye. He saw the potential, the individual strengths, but also the disorganization. He approached Taichi afterward, not with criticism, but with helpful suggestions, his green apple undertone adding a crisp freshness to his aura. "You have great energy," Taiki offered kindly, "but a little coordination could amplify your impact. Have you considered…?" Taiki's inherent desire to help, to unite, and his natural leadership skills made him an obvious asset. He didn't seek the spotlight, but the idea of helping this disparate group find harmony, of creating something positive together, aligned perfectly with his optimistic nature. He agreed to help manage and strategize, inevitably getting drawn into the performance aspect himself.
Akashi Tagiru, predictably, showed up because Taiki was involved. Hearing that his 'rival' senpai was part of some new, cool group, Tagiru couldn't stand the thought of being left out or surpassed. He burst into a practice session like a small, over-caffeinated whirlwind, demanding to be included, boasting about his own untapped potential. His scent was a hyperactive mix of new cupcakes and zesty orange, spiked with the sharp, electric smell of ozone from his sheer, unrestrained energy. "Taiki-san! Whatever you're doing, I can do it better! Just watch!" He immediately tried to copy a complex move Takuya was practicing, stumbled, and nearly crashed into Masaru, who just shoved him away good-naturedly. Tagiru's ambition was naked, his desire to be the 'superstar' palpable. He wasn't easily deterred, his mind already racing with ways to steal the show. He was in, whether they officially agreed or not.
Shinkai Haru was perhaps the most unexpected addition. He attended an early street performance with Gatchmon (discreetly providing search results on the group's minimal online presence). Haru observed the chaotic energy, the clashing personalities, the raw potential, with the quiet intensity of someone deeply engrossed in a compelling story. He felt like a side character watching protagonists assemble. His gentle aura, smelling of plain yogurt, old paper, and comforting lavender, was almost lost in the louder scents of the others. Yet, the manager, the same weary man Taichi had first approached, saw something in Haru's focused gaze – an intelligence, a sensitivity. He needed someone grounded, someone perhaps to handle lyrics or calmer arrangements. Haru, when approached, was hesitant. Him? A performer? It felt like stepping out of the narrative margins. But the pull of the story, the chance to be part of something unfolding, was stronger than his meekness. He agreed, his mind framing it as research, as observing the main characters up close.
Amanokawa Hiro joined last. He knew Taiki casually and had heard about the group through him. His dependable nature meant people often relied on him, and Taiki, sensing the group needed a stabilizing influence, perhaps someone to manage their burgeoning online presence or simply act as a mediator, asked Hiro if he'd consider helping out. Hiro, ever inquisitive and unable to refuse a request, agreed to observe. He watched their practices with a calm, introspective demeanor, Gammamon perched on his shoulder occasionally trying to take a bite out of a microphone stand. Hiro's scent, a balanced blend of soothing green tea, calming almond, and the subtle strength of white chocolate, provided a counterpoint to the group's general chaos. He saw the potential, the friction, the burgeoning camaraderie. His analytical mind started processing the group dynamics, the musical possibilities. He didn't push himself forward, but his quiet competence and willingness to help soon made him indispensable, both practically and emotionally.
Their shared practice space, a converted warehouse loft smelling perpetually of old dust, sweat, and a bewildering fusion of nine distinct personal scents, became the crucible where 'DigiDestined Dynamics' (a working title met with groans from everyone except Daisuke, who loved it) was forged.
Dance practice was controlled chaos. Takuya, fueled by adrenaline-pumping tracks blasting from a portable speaker (often overriding Taiki's carefully curated motivational playlist), moved with explosive power but zero grace, his campfire and smoky coal scent filling the air with fiery energy. Masaru matched his intensity, treating choreography like a sparring match, his amber and meatball aroma thick with competitive zeal. They often bumped into each other, sparking arguments that fizzled out as quickly as they ignited. Taichi, naturally athletic, picked up routines quickly, guiding the others with a confidence that sometimes tipped into impatience, his peppermint scent sharp and directive. "Not like that, Daisuke! Loosen up! Takato, stop looking at your feet!"
Daisuke, desperate to keep up with Taichi, poured his heart into every move, his honey and maple syrup scent intensifying with effort, punctuated by whiffs of burnt bacon when he messed up spectacularly. He needed constant validation, a "Good job, Daisuke!" from Taichi sending him into overdrive. Takato, surrounded by louder personalities, often seemed overwhelmed. He moved with hesitant precision, his vanilla and cinnamon scent soft, almost retreating. He’d often drift towards the back, finding solace near Haru, who meticulously followed instructions, his yogurt and lavender aura a small pocket of calm focus. Hiro, methodical and dependable, learned steadily, his green tea and almond scent grounding, often subtly helping Takato or mediating minor disputes with quiet words. Taiki, a natural athlete, mastered steps quickly, using his strategic mind to break down complex routines and patiently help the struggling members, his pineapple and green apple scent bright and encouraging. Tagiru, however, was a wildcard, constantly adding flashy, unscripted moves, trying to pull focus, his cupcake and orange scent buzzing with look-at-me energy, the ozone note spiking whenever he attempted something particularly risky.
Vocal lessons were a different kind of pandemonium. Taichi’s powerful rock vocals clashed with Takato’s gentle J-pop melodies. Masaru’s raw, punk-infused shouts drowned out Haru’s introspective ballads. Takuya’s energetic yelling often went off-key, while Daisuke belted out optimistic anime themes with more enthusiasm than technique. Taiki’s clear, uplifting voice aimed for harmony, Hiro’s versatile tones tried to bridge the gaps, and Tagiru just wanted the loudest, catchiest parts. The vocal coach, a woman with nerves of steel and an endless supply of throat-soothing tea (its herbal scent mingling with the metallic tang of microphones), often looked ready to tear her hair out. Yet, moments of unexpected harmony emerged. Taichi’s anthems gained depth with Taiki’s strategic harmonies. Takato’s sensitive phrasing found a counterpoint in Hiro’s melodic lines. Even Takuya and Masaru’s raw power could be thrilling when channeled correctly. The air would fill with a complex blend: Taichi's dark chocolate richness, Daisuke's sticky sweetness, Takato's warm bread comfort, Takuya's smoky edge, Masaru's sugary sharpness, Taiki's tropical brightness, Tagiru's zesty punch, Haru's creamy mildness, and Hiro's nutty warmth.
Living together, in hastily arranged dorm-style rooms above the practice space, magnified their eccentricities. Mornings were heralded by the smell of Masaru attempting to cook something hearty (often resulting in the faint odor of scorched pans mixing with his meatball scent), Daisuke loudly demanding ramen for breakfast (burnt bacon and honey swirling), and Takato quietly making toast (soft bread and vanilla). Arguments were frequent, usually sparked by Takuya’s mischievous pranks (campfire smoke mingling with the target's annoyed scent), Masaru breaking something electronic ("I barely touched it!"), or Tagiru bragging non-stop (ozone levels rising).
Taichi often played mediator, his cedarwood scent trying to project calm, though his teasing sometimes backfired, failing to register Takato’s sensitivity or Daisuke’s need for genuine reassurance. Taiki would attempt organized chore schedules, which Masaru ignored, Takuya subverted, and Tagiru conveniently forgot. Hiro often picked up the slack quietly, his green tea aura a calming presence amidst the clutter. Quiet corners existed: Haru reading, surrounded by the scent of old paper and lavender; Takato sketching, the faint cinnamon spice intensifying with concentration; Hiro researching Digimon lore or perhaps idol group marketing strategies, his almond scent focused. Evenings might find Daisuke sharing earbuds blasting J-pop with a reluctant Takato, Taichi planning their next 'big break' on his laptop, Takuya skateboarding recklessly down the hallway, or Masaru challenging anyone to arm-wrestling. It was loud, messy, often irritating, but undeniably alive. The combined scents, once a cacophony, began to settle into a familiar, if still chaotic, background hum – the scent of their shared, unfolding story.
Their first official gig was at a small, dingy club known for showcasing fledgling bands. Backstage was a cramped, suffocating space thick with the smell of stale beer, dust, and cheap air freshener fighting a losing battle. Nerves frayed the air, translating into a volatile olfactory mix.
Daisuke fidgeted, straightening his slightly-too-tight jacket for the tenth time, the burnt bacon scent overwhelming the honey. "Are you sure about this, Taichi-senpai? There are people out there! Real people!" Taichi clapped him on the shoulder, a little too hard, his peppermint scent sharp with forced confidence. "Relax! What's the big deal? We just go out there and rock." But even his cedarwood undertone felt a bit brittle. He felt the pressure, the weight of responsibility. Takato looked pale, clutching his chest, his vanilla scent barely perceptible. Guilmon, hidden nearby, probably sensed his distress. "I... I don't know if I can..." Takuya bounced on the balls of his feet, practically vibrating. "Let's go! Let's go! Time to burn it up!" His campfire scent filled the small space, making it feel even hotter. Masaru cracked his knuckles, grinning fiercely. "Finally! Time for a real fight!" Amber and brown sugar radiated off him in waves. Taiki reviewed their setlist on a tablet, flicking his goggles habitually. "Okay, remember the formation changes after the first chorus. Tagiru, stick to the choreography." His pineapple scent was a small note of attempted order. Tagiru scoffed, adjusting his own unnecessarily flashy accessory. "My moves are way better! They'll love it!" Ozone and orange fizzed around him. Haru stood silently, observing everyone, his lavender and yogurt scent a quiet anchor. He felt like he was watching the prologue to a dramatic chapter. Hiro calmly checked everyone's microphones, offering quiet words of encouragement, his green tea and almond aroma soothing frayed nerves where it could reach.
They stumbled onto the stage, blinded by surprisingly bright lights. The audience was small but expectant. The first notes hit – an upbeat, rocky intro Taichi had composed. Taichi launched forward, microphone in hand, pouring energy into the opening lines. Takuya and Masaru flanked him, moving with raw power. Daisuke, propelled by nervous energy, managed the first few steps. Takato sang his softer lines with surprising clarity, though his eyes were wide with panic. Taiki and Hiro provided solid backup vocals and steady movements. Haru stayed slightly back, focused.
Then Tagiru saw his chance. During a brief instrumental break meant for a synchronized group pose, he launched into an unplanned series of flips, aiming for center stage. He miscalculated, landing heavily near Takato, who yelped and stumbled backward, eyes welling up. Takuya, seeing the gap, instinctively tried to fill it with an aggressive, non-choreographed solo, nearly colliding with Masaru, who just laughed heartily into his mic, finding the chaos amusing.
The carefully planned performance dissolved into semi-organized mayhem. Taichi gritted his teeth, his dark chocolate scent laced with frustration, trying to pull them back together with sheer force of will. Hiro subtly shifted positions, covering Takato's retreat, his almond scent a point of stability. Daisuke, seeing Takato’s distress, abandoned his own spot for a moment during a formation change, giving Takato an encouraging thumbs-up, a waft of maple syrup briefly cutting through the burnt bacon of his own anxiety.
Somehow, they finished the set. The applause was hesitant, confused, but also appreciative of the sheer, unfiltered energy. Backstage, the recriminations began. "Tagiru! What was that?" Taiki demanded, his usual calm replaced by frustration, the green apple scent sharp. "It looked awesome!" Tagiru insisted, ozone crackling defensively. "You almost took out Takato!" Takuya added, smoky coal swirling. "He needs to toughen up!" Masaru boomed, amber flaring. Takato just looked miserable, the faint smell of cinnamon barely there. Taichi sighed, running a hand through his hair, the cedarwood scent heavy with stress. "Okay, okay! Enough! It was messy. First time, right? We learn."
But beneath the chaos, something else lingered. The shared adrenaline, the feeling of having faced the lights together, the raw, unfiltered expression – it created a strange bond. The lingering scent in the cramped room wasn't just sweat and failure; it was a complex, volatile mix of peppermint resolve, honeyed apology, vanilla vulnerability, campfire frustration, amber amusement, pineapple strategy, orange defiance, lavender observation, and green tea steadiness. It was the scent of their beginning. Their messy, loud, utterly chaotic beginning.
(Takato was still upset, and that meaned the other eight had to bear with the spicy cinnamon scent for TWO WEEKS. Tagiru received much, much glances thanks to that.)
Waiting for your opinion on this!~

Be More Chill AU X Digimon general outline.
Be More Chill AU: A loose adaption of the musical that is a full on crossover with Digimon, based on the fan comic Digimon Zone. A bigger focus on Evolution and upgrades is placed due to the inclusion of Tamers and Digimon's bond and ability to Digivolve. In this version of events, dimensional peacekeepers, the Zoners and their Digimon investigate anomalies in the Network and its various Zones (universes that contains an Earth and a Digital World or Digital World approximation), and happen on a Zone where the Digital World hasn't been fully discovered by humanity yet, but Digimon have nevertheless been downloaded into strange, digital pills called SQUIPS that local human teens have been taking to improve themselves. Curious on what this could mean if the SQUIPS escape their native Zone. Dan Ike, Betamon, Izzy: and Tentomon investigate the matter, infiltrating Jeremy Heere's school as the highest SQUIP/Digimon activity is present there. The two boys befriend Jeremy and Micheal, and slowly expose them to the secret of Digimon, though Micheal was aware of the Digimon already, having become friends with a Shoutmon that appeared in his phone's music playlist.
Jeremy, in his quest to become popular and find someone to help him (despite Dan, Izzy: and Micheal's best efforts to dissuade him otherwise) takes a SQUIP, with his turning out to be a charismatic Algomon Ultimate who takes Jeremy under his wing. When it starts to take further control of Jeremy, Algomon assumes its Worm Phase form, wrapping Jeremy in its tentacles and controlling him like a puppet. When Jeremy manages to fully break away from Algomon later on, it Digivolves into its Mega Level to reassert itself. Jeremy's actual Partner Digimon would turn out to be a Veemon.
Digimon hail from the Digital World like usual, but like Digimon Adventure: and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, some Digimon have been creeping into the Real World via the Internet, which is how Micheal met Shoutmon. Others have been downloaded into SQUIPs by a currently unknown source that the Zoners are investigating. Like Digimon Ghost Game and Digimon Fusion, Digimon usually can't be seen properly by other humans. Those with SQUIPs are usually the only ones aware of them, though Micheal became aware of Shoutmon after finding what he thought was a weird animated gif (Shoutmon's V-Pet sprite) dancing to Bob Marley on his phone. When Digimon manifest in the Real World, like Digimon Ghost Game, they initially take on Hologram Ghost forms. Dan and Izzy:'s Betamon and Tentomon also do so, causing other kids with SQUIPs to assume their Digimon are SQUIP AI.
Before Jeremy gets his SQUIP, he can't see the other Digimon at first on his own, finding he can only see them and ensuing fights via his phone. Similar to SSSS.Gridman, the SQUIP Digimon can be seen via phones and other digital equipment like laptops and game consoles, which Dan and Izzy: use to identify those with SQUIPs. Rich Goranski's SQUIP would be identified as a Kurisarimon that would later on attempt to take control and Digivolve to Infermon, forcing Dan's Majiramon, Izzy:'s MegaKabuterimon, and Micheal's OmniShoutmon to intervene. Like Ghost Game, Digimon can see and touch each other while in their Hologram state, though they can cause damage to their physical surroundings which Dan and Jeremy's group attempt to contain.
Other identified SQUIP Digimon so far include Soulmon, Gururumon, Morphomon, Eosmon, Goblimon, SkullMeramon, Fugamon, Burpmon, Etemon, Betsumon, Soundbirdmon, Crowmon, Wisemon, Bokomon, Neemon, Starmonz, Impmon, Mamemon, Dobermon, Terriermon, Wendigomon, IceDevimon, and Eyesmon.

A tadc self indulgent au/crossover with digimon...cause why not
Caine is an ai created to aid our tamers within this new world. He isn't sure why people are constantly being summoned to the digital world nor does he understand how humans works. He tries his best along with his assistants, Toyagumons (and bubbles). Caine isn't a digimon nor is he human. No one know what he is honestly expect for him.
Each person has a code name along with their "Names"
Pomni -Jaster
Gangle - Reaper
Ragatha- Prototype
Kinger- Bug Whisper
Jax- Wildcard
Zooble- ????(haven't figured out yet)
It is believed a bug or virus that's been altering the tamer's memories and appearance since no one seems to remember their past life or appearance. All having in common is putting on a headset and blacking out after hearing a voice whispering to them. Ragatha and Kinger are the most experienced tamer followed by Gangle and Jax. Zooble and Pomni are still relatively new to this and aren't as strong as the others are. Caine tries his best to lift everyone's spirits as they adventure down the dangerous road lays ahead of them. All he knows that the tamers are needed for something or else the digital world would never allowed them entry in the first place.
Digimon partners:
Pomni -Impmon
Ragatha - Dorumon
Kinger- Dokunemon
Jax- Gazimon
Gangle - Candlmon or Bakumon (not yet decided)
Zooble: Bemmon
Pomni and Impmon have a complicated relationship with each other. When Impmon heard he was getting a tamer...He was excited until he met Pomni and became immediately disappointed. He was expecting her to be big and strong and could help him becoming the strongest he can be...As for Pomni...She is scared of her own partner and doesn't like how loud he can be. She would often put distance between each other. Eventually they will warm up to each other dw
Ragatha is the only one who understands Dorumon and prefers to stay by her side. Even tho her partner is on the quiet side, she can easily understand her. Her tamer is the only one she allows to pet her and often defends her from Jax's and Gazimon's shenanigans. Dorumon speaks out the thoughts in Ragatha's mind and feelings despite Ragatha saying it's alright and no need to make it a big deal. Dorumon hates that and hopes one day she can get her tamer to be more selfish instead setting herself on fire for others to warm up
Kinger and Dokunemon gets along the most out of all the people here. He helps Kinger to focus and reminds him what to do and speaks for him if necessary. Kinger appreciate his company and part of the reason why he stays grounded in reality.
Jax and Gazimon almost seemingly being the person with how similar their personalities are. They love playing pranks at each other and the other members of the group. Unfortunately for Pomni, she is their new favorite target. They often finish each other's sentences and laugh at each other's jokes. A true menace to everyone around them
Gangle and candlmon/Bakumon... Gangle often hides behind her partner whenever something dangerous happens or when Jax is around. She is deeply grateful for them and her partners are more than willing to defend her with all their might. Beside they also often give Gangle advice and encouraging her to defend for herself and speak out her mind. Digimon surprisingly make great therapist
Zooble and Bemmon...They don't talk each other a lot ,but have mutual respect for each other. They seemingly know what each other are gonna say or think. No one knows how deep their relationship are with each other
This is a wip for now and if people are interested...I can give you their evolution routes! Currently working on what each member looks like. So far...I plan it to have fusion evolution route especially with Pomni and Ragatha partners and others
