Do you remember those cute dogs that graduated from school last week? Well they’re all gonna be able to be met outside the shelter environment. That’s right come meet the graduates of the K9 Youth Alliance program at the Eagle Rock Brewery, on their lovely patio this Saturday… The brewery will be open for business as well. You’ll also probably be able to meet some of the trainers and behavioralists from @k9youthalliance Reach out to @k9youthalliance and ask them exactly which dogs they’re bringing if you are interested in anyone in particular. Also, feel free to scroll through my feed to see videos the dogs in their graduating glory. I’m considering stopping by after volunteering (for a few hours in the morning) for a quick cold frothy beverage a couple of head scratches, and “how do you dos.” Not sure exactly what time I might swing by yet. 🆘 SHELTER IS AT CAPACITY 🆘 We can’t seem to catch our breath… dogs are flooding in… 21 dogs in just 24 hours. That’s almost 1/2 the available main kennels. Due to the amount of dogs coming in compared to those leaving, the shelter is once again COMPLETELY out of space. We hoped more large dogs would have been adopted last weekend as their kennels are the fastest to fill up. Rescues are full and can only help with committed foster homes, but we aren’t seeing foster offers for any of these large dogs. Kennels must be cleared - space is needed. What a fun way to end spring break. We went camping next to Lake Murray. We love this new tradition of meeting up with Aaron’s sister and her husband for camping trips. We sat by the camp fire. We sang songs. The landowner Lerry (Mr. Bingo) came to chat for a bit and show us around. He was friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of firewood. Though the weather has been beautiful for the past few weeks it took a nose dive this trip. The winds were around 17-20 miles/hour. Coming right off the lake it was freezing! Friday night and all day Saturday was cold and very windy. So we spent a lot of time bundled up in multiple layers. Sunday the wind was much better and the sun came out and started to warm things up.
