The Moreno Valley Public Library presents a new what to borrow the books you want...fast!  

What is ZipBooks?  

Zipbooks is a grant funded program from the California State library that allows libraries to get books directly through Amazon instead of purchasing through the library’s usual book vendors. 

Why would I request a ZipBook?

If the library does not own a copy of the book you are looking for, or if our copy has been reported lost, you can request a zipbooks order.  This will allow library staff to see if the item qualifies for purchase, put the request in, and have the item sent straight to your door in a matter of days.  

Is the book mine to keep?

A Zipbook item belongs to the library.  If a successful request is confirmed, the item is checked out to the patrons account and is treated like any other material borrowed from the library. It will be due back in two weeks (though with the normal 3 possible renewals) and is subject to the same late fees and fines as all of the other books owned by the Moreno Valley Public Library.

How do I make a request?

If you have a valid, current library card in good standing, you can visit the webiste here: moval.org/mv-library/zipbooks to place your request.  A member of the Moreno Valley Public Library ZipBooks team will contact you through email to let you know if the order has been placed or why we could not place your order at this time.

Over 40 available dogs in the shelter hope so… they hope you will visit the shelter and choose one of them. The shelter is packed. They are surrounded every day by howling, barking, crying, desperation. Desperate to find a new home. Crying for being abandoned at the shelter, the owners they once knew never coming to bring them home. Howling & barking from the stress of being caged day after day, and trying with every fiber in their being to get your attention. Low adoptions, high intakes with more coming in every day - and rescue only dogs with no foster offers. (If you can offer a temp home and foster, that is greatly needed!!) They watch each visitor with hopeful eyes. We watch visitors walk past so many of them because of their breed. Behind that breed is a living, feeling being. No matter if their body is that of a white fluffy pup, or that of a bully breed, they are a dog - searching for companionship, a family, to be loved. If you’ve never considered a bully mix, we ask you give them a chance. So many are loving & loyal dogs.
