something fucked up abt randomly scrolling through John Winchester's Journal on archive.org (listen I'm PROCRASTINATING procrastinating), getting excited when an entry mentioned that they'd be heading to Albuquerque (where I moved last fall and currently live rn)... and then the next entry is dated March 17th. today.

(the entry is on succubi, if you're wondering. is all this "succubi are hunting the winchester family" stuff a tie-in to something in the show i forgot abt or is this just another wtf moment. he was rambling about water spirits a few pages back, namedropped Jenny Greenteeth AND undead water horses, THAT was fucking weird)

Blurred Lines

Ever since I watched Trolls Band Together, I had a lot of questions sticking in my brain like gum under the tables or bleachers that can’t be removed. If you ask me, I treat these plotholes like a crime scene investigation or a science experiment in the laboratory. Sorry if there is too much information and scientific facts added to it because I found out that people with ASD like me prefer logic, accuracy, and clarity to guide my judgement because they’re consistent.

With Queen Poppy and Viva, they look semi-identical based on their designs, which makes me see that they’re fraternal or identical twins. Identical twins, are meant to have identical DNA but they differ somewhat in appearance and are not the same in terms of height, physical features, and many more so yeah, that might make sense.

Maybe they were isolated from one another in the troll tree for their safety and Viva remembers Poppy more than her because she would sneak around to be with her. There wasn’t any evidence about who is older and younger but what I know is that Viva wasn’t targeted by Chef, it was Poppy instead. It might be due to Poppy’s status as the heir because I discovered that in a legal system based on primogeniture, which favors the inheritance claims of an eldest child or his or her children over the claims of other relatives, an heir apparent is generally the eldest child, who is entitled to claim the property and titles of his or her parent. While rewatching the first Trolls movie, I noticed that King Peppy, Poppy and the other trolls escaped in the morning of the Last Trollstice so Viva and the others might escaped late at the night when Chef was exiled and there were other Bergens living outside Bergen Town so Viva’s escape might’ve happened at that time. Come to think of it, some trolls are up and running when they hatched out of their eggs like ducks and horse foals (cough* cough* Tiny Diamond) and compared to us humans, troll brains absorb memories and instincts fast or faster like sponges.

Maybe Poppy doesn't remember much about Viva because she kinda looks like she has Autism and ADHD. I read that children with autism have memory challenges that hinder not only their memory for faces but also their ability to remember other kinds of information. That's the same thing I struggled with as well.

I also based this theory on my life experiences because as an eldest child myself, I experienced the things Poppy had been through as I grew older and I am shorter while Viva kinda reminds me of my younger, taller sister.

I also read about sibling psychology and discovered that Poppy has more oldest sibling traits than Viva, who has younger sibling traits. I noticed in the movies and the animated series that Poppy exhibited the traits I listed, but she only has two youngest sibling traits, evidently mischievous and risk taker while Viva has two oldest sibling traits, usually cautious and conscientious. They both share the traits of fun loving and creative so I didn’t add them in my chart.

With the BroZone, it’s obvious to see the details about who is older and younger among them because of the features I noticed. It was evident that John Dory spent his years alone in the wilderness, Spruce established a business and had a family in Vacay Island, and Clay escaped with Viva and the others on the night when Chef was exiled and lived in the abandoned mini golf. Floyd on the other hand, he must’ve wandered around on his own until he was found by Velvet and captured him to fulfill her plan to become a popstar, alongside Veneer.

With Velvet and Veneer, they must’ve ended up that way because the Mount Rageon lifestyle is focused on partying and hedonism that they become victims of neglect and favoritism. Velvet was spoiled rotten by their parents, who were dentists while Veneer was often pushed to the side, causing him to lack willpower and only be a doormat for her when she cooks up schemes. Veneer possibly got Sparkles the goldfish as by the parents to shut him up while they spoil Velvet as if she was a treasure they can cherish and maintain. This had gotten worse possibly if the two experience bullying in school for being talentless.

Whatever my mind was thinking, all I know is that there are blurred lines in there.

Just stopping in to check because I haven't seen anyone mention this on any website but

I mean we're all in agreement that JJ's dyslexic, right? Like the whole "I can't read cursive" thing is not a joke. And it happens multiple times when cursive documents come up.

But Megan, the naysayers are naysaying, doesn't that just mean he can't read cursive? Still sad, but a lot of the letters look different and it's not very useful so maybe he flunked/ignored that unit of third grade.

Nay. Naaaay I have one more piece of evidence. Go back to the episode where they find Big John's compass and open it in season 1. John B says there's a secret compartment and JJ grabs it and says, "Let me see!" When the others ask what it says he struggles to read the single word etched in all CAPS (NO cursive) Redfield. While trying to sound it out, the others cut him off immediately by reading it out loud. They are able to read it at a glance, but JJ isn't.

So there's the compass, the letter from Limbrey where he admits he can't read cursive at all, and then again when they find Tanny's spyglass where he grabs it, sees the inscription, and then hands it to Pope and asks what it says.

Final solid evidence it's dyslexia vs. Not a fluke of writing (consistent pattern) or him being entirely illiterate, is that he DOES read John B's text message, proving he's alive in Nassau, texts Kiara to save him from the ambulance theft disaster, and texts Singh in Barbados with Portis' phone. So he can read, but he can't do it quickly and/or out loud.

Circumstantial bonus evidence - everyone headcanons/believes JJ has ADHD, which he definitely displays a lot of symptoms of, and there's a high comorbidity between ADHD and Dyslexia.

That's all I just wanted to note my theory.

While reading John Calhoun's papers（I had first read them 7 years ago but didn't quite understand）and his biography, a thought suddenly hit me:

COULD HE BE ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM ？

I'm not kidding. I am ASD + ADHD so I did a lot of research myself, and JCC just fit in many of the symptoms.

So I wrote a short article discussing this possibility, but it's in Chinese and I suck at English so if anyone wants to see it I'll try my best translating it……

I’m a big fan of moral philosophy (John Stuart Mill and Krenshaw are my favs) and ecocriticism — I’m writing my honours thesis on indigenous ways of knowing, particularly in connection with anti-humanist narratives centering non-human species (I love magpies and mother trees). Canadian humour and Canadian wildlife. Oh — I also love a good em-dash. DILFS.

So,

I did the baffling discovery today that the beginning of this song

And the FUCKING LEITMOTIV OF HTTYD and HICCUP as can be heard at the beginning in

and better in

ARE NOT THE SAME.

But how? Why the fuck would a fan of over 10 years say that those are the same frikkin melody?

I DON'T KNOW. Don't ask me, my brain did an oopsie and I can't get over it.

My friends and I just discovered this while guessing film scores and ofc I recognised the score of Httyd immediately, but then my friend played a song from Ice Age and even if I've watched this film as a child, I don't remember anything from it besides maybe some scenes I've seen of the baby (yikes old animation haha). So I ONLY knew Goodnight Sweet Possums from watching Reels and TikToks (it's rly all over the place, but I can understand it's a fucking beautiful song) and SOMEHOW

I NEVER looked at the name of the audio when I heard it AND just assumed that it was a cover of the score of Httyd, because it sounded (and still does wtf) so similar to me.

And I especially never connected it to Ice Age of all things, where the damn thing is from.

Now I've gone over the notes and I think it's the first 3 that set my mind up for the leitmotiv and therefore get mixed up and guess what? Not even those are the same.

To the left is Goodnight Sweet Possums and to the right The Vikings Have Their Tea and you see that the melody of the first 3 ascending tones is not the same, similar? Sure, but not the same, not to mention that the song goes in another direction after this.

I've compared the two more closely and tho Goodnight Sweet Possums definitely has a different melody, especially after those 5 notes, and is faster, the two are still quite similar by first ascending and then descending, but at different times and have other/longer 'pauses' (PLS don't come at me for this explanation lol I have limited knowledge of music theory, am not playing an instrument atm and just tried to compare the two by the looks heh)

Am I stupid for not considering that this, in the second half totally not like Httyd sounding song, (rly it's just the beginning thanks to TikToks short clips) could indeed NOT be a cover? And that I thought I heard snippets of the Httyd score in other musical pieces, because I listen to it weekly, where really none are, happened before?

Perhaps.

Was my world view shattered like the time I discovered musical songs (not all ofc) where in fact not original and I've been humming a melody that has been all over my feed for months and has nothing to do with Httyd?

I didn't really come up with any new theories while I was gone - I had a lot on my plate, and to be honest, I only really come up with theories while I'm reading or rereading the comic. ADHD-induced object impermanence strikes again!

I still think Life is going to be 'healing-themed' or 'nature-themed'. The former is one of my favorite flavor of powers, and the latter I'm so-so about, but I'm sure Homestuck could find a way to make it work!

I'm starting to think this dang 8-ball isn't as prophetic as I thought, and it's actually just a regular 8-ball. Damn red herrings!

Perhaps. The troll modi tend to say some pretty obvious things about their users - Karkat's is pointlessly masochistic, Aradia's is paranormal, and Gamzee's is a trip.

I don't know about the kids though. Sure, John's modus is meandering, like him - and Jade has multiple modi, because she likes to break the established patterns. I'm not so sure about the Derse kids - their modi are simple data structures, and don't seem to say anything about their personalities, unless I'm missing something obvious.

gonna post this on my main blog instead of my homestuck side blog (though I'm gonna reblog it there) but here are the homestuck characters poison from street fighter and final fight would get along with and hate if she were the beta kids, beta trolls, alpha kids, and alpha trolls age (as well as if she were in the comic).

beta kids:

-poison gets along with all the beta kids equally. she loves doing music with dave and wants to introduce them to industrial rap (she probably has a super obscure music taste. in my heart.) she writes wizard fanfic with rose but she doesn't like the rationalist fanfiction rose does (I didn't forget rose wrote ratfic in canon) because she doesnt understand why people have to be rational when her SUPERIOR genre, emofic, should be more popular instead. emofic btw is where characters act completely irrational and always make the most irrational choice for Drama Purposes. because poison likes drama. she loves june/john the best and connects most with her and wants to make movies in june's backyard starring her, june, and her adoptive family hugo, abigail, and roxy. she also loves making furry art with jade and loves to make weirder and weirder fursonas to the point it becomes postfurry, which jade kinda freaks out over because "poison I dont think toasters have breasts, wear clothes, and have dog ears and a full head of scene hair! it's scientifically impossible!" and then poison's like "it's POSTfurry, jade, you wouldn't get how my toastersona is inherently awesome." overall 13-16 year old poison is besties with the beta kids and would be besties forever with them.

alpha trolls:

-poison loves every troll except for three: equius (for obvious reasons relevant to her character), gamzee (post murdertroll arc), and eridan (for obvious reasons relevant to her character). she hates vriska up until she can show poison that she can redeem herself. her troll Besties are tavros (he reminds her of hugo), nepeta (who WOULDNT want to be besties with nepeta), aradia (I just see similarities with pre ghost aradia and poison), kanaya (same as aradia), terezi (again, I see similarities between her and terezi as well), feferi (she's a fun fat fish girl), and karkat and sollux are Kind Of Okay I Guess. overall she likes most of the trolls except equius, gamzee, and eridan and only likes vriska if she promises to change (because vriska is like juri and that's how I feel she'd feel about juri han in canon and not like in aeolus edge where juri has more gremlin adhd juri characterization than her actual personality in canon).

alpha kids:

-okay so i've only heard stuff about this part because I've never gotten to part 6. But imo: I think poison would get along with all of them. Yes, even dirk. Especially Dirk, because he's like Cody travers and she likes Cody travers in an exasperated mom way.

beta trolls:

-again, I've only read analysis and theory posts about these guys but I think her besties would be latula, damara, mituna, and porrim. As soon as kankri starts talking about misandry she'd clock him in the face and refuse to stop punching him until someone has to haul her off of him. She hates Cronus and is tempted to fight him on sight every time she sees him. I don't think she'd like aranea or meenah either. She doesn't talk much to meulin but she thinks she's sweet and cute. Everyone else she kinda has no involvement with.

Any street fighter fans AND homestuck fans (rare venn diagram, I know) have anything to add?
