Make fun of by itself is to RIDICULE OR MOCK ANOTHER PERSON TO MAKE THEM THE BUTT OF THE JOKE

That’s why racists make fun of people they don’t “tease” because teasing implies playfulness while make fun of implies ridicule or mockery

so my first class of the day for A days is math, so i’m sitting in math and i feel like absolute dog crap. i’m coughing, my nose is running etc etc. and my friends and my table KNOW this, they can see it. and so our teacher makes us do group work, he assigns a problem sheet to do with the group. i tell them ‘wait, i’m going to go to the bathroom’ and so i go, come back, and they’re on the third problem? so i’m like wtv and i start to do number 1. i get done with it and i get stuck on two and i’m like ‘how do i do this???’ and they’re like ‘you just solve it ig’ like really? and then i ask my teacher, and he explains it but i didn’t really understand it and my friends were on the last questions and were ignoring me so i started crying. and it was only then when one of my friends was like ‘addie do u need help?’ and i was like ‘ no😡’ bc i was mad so period

The company behind Kidz Bop can genuinely go fuck themselves cause. This sort of puritanical mindset is already so detrimental to children, especially when there is much more exposure nowadays. What is even the point of just switching “cuss words” or changing the lyrics, when most children don’t even listen to these versions? From my own experience, I would say that most children and teenagers don’t pay attention to lyrics that much while listening to music.

This only teaches them that swearing is inherently wrong and makes you a bad person. I’m not saying we should let children walk around cussing at people. All I’m saying is no matter what these “concerned” adults do, children are going to come across and learn swear words and topics that society has deemed inappropriate or controversial. Let them make mistakes, and learn what’s right and wrong from their own experiences. Let them experiment with ideas and opinions. Let children be children. The adults that say, “But what about the children?” only cause more harm than good.

One thing that makes me mad is when they change lyrical content, they mostly target romance, sex and other related topics. I think we already know how this affects children. When these topics (which are normal human feelings) are shunned and labelled “inappropriate”, young people don’t get the chance to learn about them in a healthy way. This in turn, leads to children/teens talking about it in a hush-hush way, teasing and bullying other children about it, cause believe me, children can be so cruel sometimes. I have seen this happen to many of my friends in middle school and it was depressing. (The worst was definitely when I was learning about the human reproductive system in 8th grade biology. Almost all my classmates kept laughing and making really offensive jokes.) and are the children to blame? Hard no! I believe the older generations have truly failed in this aspect.

I’m not sure how much my observations correlate with people from other countries, cause I’m Indian and everyone and their mom knows how narrow-minded and backwards our people STILL are. I really wish Sex Education was a thing here. God knows how much SA could have been prevented if young girls understood the concept of consent.

Okay this has gotten way too long, and I’ve strayed off from the original subject matter. I also just wanted to say that making Good luck babe straight was my last straw. Homophobia does more damage than conservatives can ever understand.

Anyways, screw homophobes, transphobes and misogynists, ableists and anyone else who thinks that denying people their basic rights is justified.

sometimes i'm fine and then i remember sylvie is addie larue coded.

OKAY HEAR ME OUT.

she's grown up in apocalypses- places where no one can remember her. where she can't make a mark on the world or the timeline. sylvie has never had a lasting relationship or friendship with anyone since she has to keep jumping to a new timeline. if she is spotted and makes a mark on someone or a place, the tva will find her.

it's genuinely so sad, and so justified on why she hates the tva so much and 'selfishly' just wants to live. like addie, she is invisible to the world and had to spend years, centuries even, growing up in the destruction and death of countless people.

all they both want to do is experience the joys of life, and have true relationships. to make a mark on this world (in sylvie's case, causing chaos and burning the tva to the ground). even if that's just working at mcdonald's and listening to records, she savours those moments. the bartender who knows her usual, the record store manager who calls her by her name, the boy working at the mcdonald's who admires her.

she finally has a timeline to enjoy, and she's not being hunted by an organization that wants to kill her for what? her crimes? for being who she is? her nexus event was (in my opinion, i strongly believe this) becoming a girl. they would prune her for 'crimes against the sacred timeline' because the timeline decrees her to stay male for the rest of her life.

(this also explains the lack of genderfluid lokis in this universe because hwr really said- nah make the lokis all male-presenting)

when a version, a young 8-year-old sylvie, decides she is a girl and shapeshifts into one, the tva takes her and destroys her entire life just because another universe has people with unique thoughts and feelings. she grows up without any lasting relationships, in apocalypses, invisible and wanting to live.

just like addie.

this is spiralling into a sylvie rant and i didn't even mention addie that much but you get what i'm saying. they're also both bisexual and when they meet a certain dark-haired person who is a twin soul that's had a terrible deal as well, they lean on each other and form a bond.

tl;dr sylvie and addie are both invisible, can't make any lasting relationships, and just want to live when they were screwed over at a young age.

Soo I realized that probably the only book I'll ever reread is The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

Don't get me wrong there are tons of other books I like, but this one just has an extra special place in my heart.

Most of my books get me out of reality for a while, and I love them for that, but Addie LaRue was different. I remember reading it last summer, and I was just... At the end, it literally made me rethink my life (and like without any exaggeration). It had so many important messages for me, the most important one to me being that I don't have infinite time. Like it or not, my time is limited and I have to do something with it while I still have it.

So yeah, this book meant a lot to me, it's definitely one of the books that affected me the most.
