lord help us all I've been given a reason to think about Dracula novel/Drizzt series crossover
I love following canyourfavesurvivecastledracula (I especially love seeing characters I'm not familiar with on there) and they recently got an ask about my little guy Drizzt Do'Urden but didn't know all that much about him BUT YOU SEE (unfortunately for everyone who knows me in any way) this is a crossover of the two major fandoms that have become my entire personality in the past year or so! so as someone who's eagerly awaiting the return of Dracula Daily Season AND reading multiple of the Drizzt series books as we speak (simultaneously! help..) and considers him a blorbo to tenderly and lovingly put in the microwave to watch him dodge the radiation like an ant, I'm taking a crack at it because this looks like fun :D
Making my own post because this is purely to be enrichment in my enclosure and also it's.. gotten So So Very Long.. also pouring one out for my other account where I normally would post this sort of thing that I simply cannot log into anymore for mysterious and unknown reasons. (Literally it's still like There and I can See It but trying to log in takes me to 'make a new blog' pages and... wait I'm silly I think I know why. the email died. no idea how to get back in without the email.)
ANYWAY
To the thought experiment:
Could Drizzt Do'Urden Survive Castle Dracula?
Short answer: Yes, it's not a fun time for him, he saves the baby though!
Long answer:
Using the blog's stated general criteria...
Overall approach to the supernatural:
Is an elf, knows what a vampire is, however D&D vampires work differently from Dracula vampires so he would not have all the information on that front if it came to a confrontation. (Knowing the Drizzt books, it would definitely come to at least one fight or at least a tense chase sequence.)
Also depends on how quickly he clocked that this is, in fact, a vampire, and whether Dracula could catch on to him catching on and spin things in a way that kept Drizzt relatively chill OR decide it's time to strike (which he could probably escape) (though now I'm thinking about Vampire!Drizzt....... no no I shouldn't.... unless.....)
The presence of Guenhwyvar (constellation panther BFF my beloved) would afford him some protection other than Dracula's whims, and companionship which is Very Important as he has been known to go feral without sufficient friendship.
Probably takes all the local superstitions very seriously because where he comes from if someone's like "there are ghosts that come out on certain days" and "there are monsters in these woods" they mean it very Very literally.
Dracula's general inhuman behaviors he could take in stride and adapt to pretty well I think, he's known a lot of really eccentric people and is from Fantasy Zone, so the idea that Dracula isn't human wouldn't be scary or even all that weird. Vampire, yeah that's sus, but just non-human? you walk past a hundred non-humans on a single street in most cities where he's from. Many of the eccentricities might be explainable just by going "Ah, he seems to be some kind of wizard. Yeah that checks out." Doesn't seem to be sleeping on a normal schedule or at all? Drizzt does that too! Sees too well in the dark/doesn't seem to use lights much? Darkvision and light sensitivity, same! Moves inhumanly fast? A little concerning but why not. Tells stories from centuries ago as if he was there? Elves do that all the time and it's because they were, in fact, there. (Also some human wizards do all of that too, just because.)
Now because things work differently between these two settings I'm not sure how much his general familiarity with things in the Forgotten Realms would help him here, like he's taking it all in stride but does he know how to protect himself against a Dracula-type vampire? Does he know magic is so incredibly rare and (apparently) usually evil or does he think this is just an unusually magic-less region?
Whether they would accept the crucifix from the old lady:
He is a polite young man so yes of course he would, and because the lady doesn't know what a drow (or an elf?) is, she probably wouldn't think "evil!!!" like most of the common folk in the Realms do, so much as "weird-looking (yet androgynously beautiful) young man" or depending on the local superstitions may assume he's some sort of fey being? or just like, really exceptionally foreign foreigner.
Assuming she still offers it, he would accept it despite not knowing what sort of deity it's for, because he recognizes it's a token of goodwill and he loves expressions of goodwill. Would definitely go and write about it in his little diary to both wonder what she's so afraid of/what sort of protection it affords, and also gush about the kindness and possibly whether this expands or aligns with his current understanding of morality.
This plus the other Superstitious Behaviors would clue him in that something's up so he'd be going in with that knowledge, prepared to figure out what's going on and what the villagers are so afraid of.
Whether they would go exploring after being told not to:
100% and he might even be stealthy enough to mostly get away with it!
Demonstrably does not like being restricted, only went along with this stuff when he was younger because the indoctrination ensured that he literally had no idea there was any other option (also his dad sparred with him daily to get his energy out so his zoomies were managed)
If Dracula really truly wanted to discourage him from any particular places he might just need to come up with an explanation, but he might also be entertained enough by Drizzt's sneaking and snooping to let him roam and see where it goes. Drizzt is better at stealth than Jonathan but they have different flavors of wet cat charm which Dracula may want to handle differently.
Depending on how you read the scene with the vampire ladies trying to "kiss" Jonathan, like how much of it was vampire charm making him feel kinda into it or potentially more of a paralysis situation, it could go differently just because Drizzt may or may not be able to break out and run away very fast, or just kinda endure it while feeling Really Bad And Gross about the sexual overtones. (Based on instances such as him resisting drugs and exiting the room as fast as possible when a priestess was coming onto him, and going feral to push through a paralyzing poison to prevent an assault on another person.) (I read him as incredibly demisexual and he demonstrates being sex-repulsed to everyone outside of the very short list of people he's actively very close friends with and attracted to.) (His feral side has been known to come out in these types of situations but not all of them and it wouldn't necessarily always work either.)
The girlies would not put him off of exploring for very long but he would likely be trying to avoid all possible run-ins with them from that point forward. Unfortunately for him he is a tasty little guy and I think the girlies would actively mess with him against Dracula's orders, perhaps in part because he's an elf and they find that interesting and engaging. Enrichment for their enclosure! Horrible time for Drizzt. Exactly the way the vampire squad likes it!
Verdict: He has a bad time but he's gotta run around he has the zoomies. Dracula could possibly prevent this, if he wanted to prevent it, by letting him into a training yard of some kind so he can get out his energy.
Ability to manage the whims of a Rich Jerk / hold Dracula's interest:
This one is harder and probably depends on the circumstances of him going to the castle, like what his goal there is, and around what point in the timeline he's at. I haven't gotten through all 30-something books just yet but my answer is Probably?
Just the fact of him being an elf and having some innate magic abilities could possibly be enough for Dracula to find him interesting enough to keep around. He's not a wizard and his innate spells are mostly harmless, more battlefield management than anything, so he's not magically a particularly powerful threat to Dracula, just decently interesting. He could also go on about how magic works where he's from, though going on too much about his inherent drow magic would make him uncomfortable (which Dracula would probably like) and especially like, if he got into the ins and outs of Menzoberranzan specifically.
He would definitely bring out the active listening skills for Dracula's history and war stories. Might want to get examples of any particularly interesting fighting maneuvers. I wonder if Dracula would indulge him in a spar or let him practice? The castle must have a training yard somewhere, but would he let Drizzt keep his weapons/borrow some?
Usually good enough at reading the room to determine when is or is not a good time for the scimitars and the panther (combat mode) to come out.
Not the most charismatic, but insightful and clever. (autism-ass elf. elftism.......)
Raised in a very controlling environment with a strict social hierarchy where he was simultaneously part of a high-ranking noble family but also as far down the social ladder as he could be otherwise (male, youngest child, was supposed to be assigned spell component at birth, doesn't like conforming) so, again, he wouldn't like it but he could probably manage it.
Partly depends on how much effort Dracula is willing to put in to make the Friendship believable and keep Drizzt in the dark, or if he's interesting enough to more carefully balance a web of manipulation around.
I'm gonna say this point gets a Yes
Assuming he realized the vampires are Bad but too dangerous to 2v4, he would be so uncomfortable for most of it but is also funky enough that Dracula would probably find his discomfort and weird-but-trying-to-be-so-polite mannerisms entertaining. Dracula would decide this is his blorbo now. I may be biased but this is tumblr so actually Dracula himself said all of this to me personally in DMs.
Facility for climbing without gear (free soloing):
Lizard fashion? Spider fashion...
He Is On The Walls
Multiple points in the books involve him sneaking around places by climbing on walls and I believe elves are canonically, in general, weirdly good at parkour. So yeah!
Whether they would choose to risk being eaten by vampires over the certain death of being eaten by wolves:
IF he has weapons, the wolves aren't really certain death because he is a whirling tornado of death, I am so sorry wolves. If not then he might be able to parkour out of their way? He probably wouldn't want to fight the wolves though, because he is a disney princess nature lover and would rather free them from Dracula's control if possible.
Depending on how much he could figure out about how vampires work here, he may have some ideas for how to turn a fight against them to his advantage or otherwise.
Wait, this happens after the baby incident, right? If so then he's not getting to this point plot-wise, though he might have come back to try fighting the vampires after saving the baby, and depending on how he's doing that, he might still have to contend with the wolves at some point.
Decision: Doesn't want to go against the wolves at any point, but if necessary, he can out-parkour them.
General analysis from Me:
Main counts on the original post are accurate! He accepts the cross, survives the social situations as long as necessary, and escapes with the baby to give it back to the villagers upset but otherwise intact.
As soon as he realized the vampires were menacing the locals to any extent, he would decide to figure out a way to free the area of their evil. Unfortunately the best way for him to figure out anything about the vampires is to stay in close quarters with them for a little while. He has been known to pretend to side with an enemy to gain information or an advantage in a fight, but I'm not sure how long he could keep it up.
Dracula might string him along with Friendship (Drizzt loves friendship so much if he doesn't have friendship he will explode) but he would have to get his baby-eating roommates to play along and behave or else they could easily freak the guy out too much for it to remain believable.
Either way, Drizzt is not staying in that castle beyond the point of another person (the baby) being put in danger. There's at least one point in the books where he's protecting a baby while fighting some enemies and he always puts the baby's safety first. Also Guen can respawn, so if it's absolutely necessary to, she can get taken to 0 HP distracting the vampires while Drizzt improvises some way to get out of there with the baby intact.
That's as far as "survive Castle Dracula" usually goes because well he got out of the castle alive but now I am also thinking about possible plot beyond that point...
First of all the villagers?? Assuming they saw him as Really Weird Foreigner or perhaps some sort of fair folk rather than Literal Demon Spawn the worst they'd do is probably be very tense and silent after taking the baby back and let him leave uncontested without welcoming him in. Best case scenario is some or all of them, or at least the baby's mother, being grateful enough to help him out a little. But like what's he gonna Do after that? (Also if the villagers think he's some sort of fey guy then would they think there's something up with the baby now...)
I mean he knows there's baby-eating vampires in that castle now and he's very against the idea of leaving baby-eating vampires around. Even if he can't 2v4 all of them plus their minions he'd wanna do something about that. (2v4 rather than 1v4 because Guen counts as one) Would he try to gather allies to assault the castle? If he learned that there's times when he can expect them all to be asleep in their coffins would he try to just go back in and stab them in their coffin-sleep? Would he leave the area if he knows the local people are still in danger or would he reason that he needs to find help and come back?
(Also raising to myself the question of whether this is "specifically only Drizzt has been isekai'd into the novel Dracula" or if there's perhaps a little more crossover type setting blending, or if others from the Realms are in there, is Elminster around I know he's canonically been to Real Life Earth, would Van Helsing have some kind of tangent about how this has allegedly happened before, there's an implication that vampires aren't even Van Helsing's favorite cryptid what if d&d type elves are actually higher on that list and he knows all about them, is it even possible to put something resembling the plot and characters of Dracula into a D&D setting, what if I could make a Domain of Dread out of thisâ)
No matter what happened, Drizzt would be writing SO many diary entries which is perhaps the true main reason why he would survive, he's got that journaling and diary-keeping swag just like my good friend Jonathan Harker
(This is all assuming he has Guen because if he didn't have Guen he would wilt away of the Miseries. Might un-wilt specifically to save the baby and then re-wilt as soon as he remembered there's no kitty.)
#drizzt do'urden#dracula#drizzt#me#my posts#maybe I shouldn't be putting him in the microwave... he has metal on him usually...#this got so long help me#perhaps there is a point where I should just write a fanfic but then again I would 100% get caught in the setup#but this isn't even getting close to 'what if Drizzt met Jonathan' levels of blorbo crossover perhaps that energy would carry me through#microwave addendum again I remembered the ice scimitar gives fire/heat resistance but would that help in a microwave?

Man I wonder where the leader of the fear realm could've gone, it's alMOST LIKE NEVIN HAS AN
#had to re-edit the image real quick because the original edit was from a post I made about Drew years ago#and while the Drew thing is becoming less and less likely. Nevin havinv one has basically been canon since#someone mentioned Greg's (was it Britney's) aura being familiar in s2ch1. ive been putting together a list of every line#that points to Nevin's aura throughout the whole thing (most from s2ch1 but then s2ch10 came out and it was really canon at that point)#but clearly i'm running out of time to say ''i fucking called it'' before it's explicitly stated and i dont want to be in another situation#where somebody else will beat me to a theory and me posting anything about it will seem like copying them. sorry about that btw i had#thought i had already mentioned theorizing that nevin was possessed by a demon in that old theory i made but i had forgotten that one was#super old and was about sigma. so no copying there i just got extremely paranoid there was a mention of a cult and i was like ''nuh uh#that's way too specific and out there of a detail to end up in both our theories'' and i forgot the rest of my super old post was outdated#as hell. and echos had gone ''yeah they're so similar!'' and i took their word for it but now i'm realizing they were probably just trying#to be supportive. so yeah no copying there i was just beaten to the punch of saying something. but i will NOT back down from the aura shit#because i have been calling that shit FROM THE START or at least since i started reading ibvs back when ch20 came out.#also not backing down from saying chris was the worse friend because these past few chapters are the first time isaac has done anything tha#could knowingly upset chris meanwhile chris has. let edward drag isaac to the lair after isaac said edward would beat him up. chose not to#believe edward was holding the secrets over their heads because 'it was something isaac had said' and then immediately distrusted edward in#the next chapter because a random person he didn't know said to steal a book (might i mention how that entire scene proves chris' lack of#development and refusal to take responsibility because it perfectly alludes to when chris had brought those fireworks into his old school#and makes me wonder if charlie has actually gotten him in trouble with his past schools or if he's still just not taking responsibility#and if him following nevin to the woods to test out their powers is an extension of ''if something bad happens its not my fault''#like seriously this man would bring a mysterious suitcase onto a plane if he's told to). uh what was i talking about agai#anyway on a related note my mental state has only gotten worse since i left tumblr and the habit of thinking about chris instead of sleepin#or doing schoolwork has not stopped. so i was still failing for a while and might graduate now but am still staying away from tumblr.#so yeah this was a little update and im not going to linger this time im just going to leave tumblr again right after hitting post#addendum because i just can't let things go. and was thinking about chris again. i don't think his lack of development is because of bad#writing (anymore. i used to.). instead i'm certain his character arc is going to continue into him following someone (nevin probably) into#doing something really bad. and then he'll finally get actual consequences and go 'oh shit i fucked up real bad this time'#if you think that theory is reaching too far into the future you should hear mine about isaac dying at the end lmao

đđđđ. Following the series of AQs in which Dain participates, this post will conclude with Caribert before the next quest comes in a few months.
⧠I remember talking vaguely about this detail, but just as it'll happen later in a different thing, it's hard to believe that Dain doesn't have some manner of sentience even if in a subconscious level that he has no explanation for. This case being that, among the first things he does upon arriving to the place he remembers vaguely that something happened, he outright inspects the small field where Chlothar used to grow the mushrooms he needed for the potion. And in the present, that same place is where his own corpse and his lover's were buried.
⊠âMy memories are quite foggy, but my subconscious and instincts both assert that something once happened here.â
As I was sayingâ joke's on me I completely forgot about this, so I really was on to something. That aside, I think this opens many doors for him in terms of sentience of things that... not even he experienced. As what Aether witnesses after his sleep was Lumine's memories while Dain was doing something else elsewhere, while still somehow nearby. It does make me wonder if his soul, perhaps untainted by the curse and the corruption (ironically I already portrayed him like this, but seeing more solid things in canon that to some extent make it plausible overjoys me), has somehow an omniscience by itself or it's being pushed towards that direction by something else. A possibility for this would be Irminsul answering directly to Dain's concerns / thoughts and beckoning him in that direction so he discovers it by himself. Whichever the case may be, both are highly interesting and which I already implemented in my portrayal in what concerns his sentience. Overall, it's quite interesting that he insists that something happened in the house even though he didn't experience said something himself.
⧠In view of what we learn about Chlothar's waning body as a result of the curse, I find Paimon's comments about Dain's great senses (smell and hearing) despite his age (in addition to being in a great physical-shape too and be able to pull those moves in a more hostile environment down to being able to press on even when handling great pain that is immobilizing) to be like little crumbs to be alert about Dain's difference when compared to someone dealing with the same curse as him, yet having declined significantly more in just about a hundred years in comparison to the five hundred years Dain lived so far. This is a detail I didn't realize myself back when the AQ was released.
⊠This is a small crumb compared with the huge lore bombs this AQ brought, but I adore how compassionate and mindful Dain is when seeing Lumine crying when she woke up and that he'd decide to let her alone to recompose herself in case she'd feel ashamed if he were to stay instead. Combined the fact that he's the kind of watching over his traveling partner's sleep while he stays wide awake. Now, following the line of Dain's sentienceâ the direction he takes to continue his investigation is none other than the way Caribert takes by the end of the quest before the scene of the cliff and Lumine passing out.
⧠âAs far as I'm concerned, humans who do not worship The Seven are nigh extinct... and all who place faith in the gods are my enemies.â
Considering how little it must've been since the cataclysm broke out, it's very curious how very few Khaenri'ahns made it to Chlothar's days before he encountered the Sinner and quite saddening to think about, how many of them might've turned into monsters of the Abyss, started to have some extent of belief in them even if it's just to be forgiven due to the horrible curse cast upon them or potentially passed away by even worse means, specially if we remember how scared people were of even going past the gates to Sumeru's underground due to the amount of monsters they must've encountered on their way.
⊠âIt's said that this medicine is imbued with the power of Sumeru's God of Wisdom, and can awaken the mind from a state of deep stupor... It has been used in the past to treat cases of mania. [...] I read it in a book from the Royal Library of Khaenri'ah. It was banned, since this medicine requires the power of The Seven to work. [...] I was leafing through some forbidden texts and happened upon it.â
Another point worth mentioning, seeing how Khaenri'ah had knowledge of the gods and banned said knowledge from the general public. Chances are that there were two separate libraries and that the Royal Library was of limited access or had a restricted place that at the very least the nobles knew of its existence.
⧠âThe gods of this world have never stood with humanity... Not even for a moment!â
I don't have much to comment about this myself as there might be information in the future to shed light upon this, but I think it deserves its recognition for now to keep in mind in the future in case it isn't just some widely-spread belief in Khaenri'ah about the gods and that the founders really discovered something about the gods that made them think this, and that it actually has some weight to it.
⊠âThere is a waterfall near the statue I prayed at. I need you to collect some water from there around two in the afternoon.â
Following the line of thought from earlier about the banner knowledge, this detail about that potion is too specific to ignore and a good reason to wonder how far and wide Khaenri'ah's knowledge about the other nations extended. There is no doubt that those who came from other nations also contributed with this net of wisdom, but it's worth remembering that some Khaenri'ahns were also acting as spies both in Enkanomiya and Sumeru. It wouldn't be far-fetched to think that they did this in other nations too.
⧠âHalt, humans. Fate has not granted you the right to enter this place... [...] Very well. Then I grant you the trial of destiny.â
Not much to say about this, except that I have a feeling that it'll become more relevant in the future too. The quest's name while in the sanctuary where the Fortune Lector is found is "A lamenter at fate's end" and the subtitle of this abyssal being is "secret keeper of fate's end". Not to mention that what it was guarding was... the final place where Lumine and Chlothar encounter the Sinner. Furthermore, based on the CN wording and the Caribert AQ description in CN too point towards the Sinner being the same "self-proclaimed prophet / someone who understands fate well" that narrates Dain's description. So there are high chances that the Sinner and Caribert becoming the Loom of Fate are closely related, and most likely than not the Sinner is the one who did something about Caribert's sanity.
⊠Chlothar's suspicious fascination for the Fortune Lector might be a good example of how amazed part of the Khaenri'ah civilization was by the power of the Abyss, as despite how poisonous it is for every living being, he would describe it as a beautiful power. It speaks great volumes of how deep the obsessions were in those who had them.
⧠â...O, dear creature, why do you bow down? For fear of the unknown? Or for a power that you covet? O, dear creature, why do you bow down? For I am no God... I am but a "Sinner". You are like a flower born in sin yet pure, spotless... I know your fate well. You need no longer hold back your resentment, nor accept the countless lies. Go forth, become a transcendent one, rise beyond the fate bestowed upon you... And I shall shed a tear at the end of time... as I gaze back upon your life.â
For some reason, I have the feeling that these words were meant for Chlothar as besides the hilichurls, he was the only one bowing down and not Lumine. And that the male realized that she also heard him and that's where he stayed silent. The reason why this wouldn't apply to the hilichurls too is because the word choice for addressing to someone in singular. Which leads me to wonder if one of the requirements of being a pure-blood Khaenri'ahn like Chlothar is to "be like a flower born in sin yet pure, spotless". This reminds me heavily of the inteyvats given that against all odds, they would still bloom in conditions that are incompatible with life. It's also highly curious that it is possible to be above a fate that's been bestowed and that Chlothar might've been able to make it, which would explain why in the end his corpse could be found buried in the field.
⊠Seeing that abyssal energy coming from behind Caribert's mask fills me with intrigue, and it reminds me of how well-tied the AQs Dain is involved in are. We don't even need to go too far and just think about Requiem of the Echoing Depths and when the matter of hilichurls not taking off their masks so they won't see what they turned into from being humans was addressed, and the follow-up this had in Caribert now. Maybe Caribert is a special case himself due to the Sinner resonating with Chlothar for reasons unknown, or maybe it's something that could happen to other hilichurls as well, I'm unsure. It would be great to learn more about this one day and I'm positive we will in following AQs where Dain comes back.
⧠âI never imagined that you, of all people, would deny the Abyss... How ridiculous! We once believed that you would bring new strength and hope to Khaenri'ah. To us, you were the Abyss... A wondrous mystery far beyond our imagination and comprehension... And the one who controls the Abyss can control everything! We yearned for that future. We looked to you to take us there. But what did you bring us instead? O Princess... of Khaenri'ah?â
This here is a heavy point of irony and re-reading Chlothar's words reminds me once again of Dain's claim of hypocrisy. How Khaenri'ah went from denying the gods to worship someone else like they were one, all because of the devotion they held for the Abyss. It's also intriguing the thought that things weren't going well in Khaenri'ah by the time Lumine arrived, probably tied with the fall of King Irmin and perhaps due to more factors that we don't know about yet.
⊠Lastly, it's interesting the thought that Dain does have his own suspicions about the identity of the Sinner and that there are high chances that he knows that the Sinner is a "he" even though he didn't hear his voice and that Aether might have not said that it sounded like a male voice either. Also the fact that despite being a memory and that somehow Aether was able to see what Lumine went through in those brief days, that the Sinner knows about him through this alone.
#âàŒșâ§àŒ»â events to be remembered in blue veins âaddendum.â#I dread with all my heart Dain's little involvement in this quest#despite the few crumbs we got of him#but hands down this was huge in lore#and it feels like each time it gets better#I'm just begging on my knees to HYV... that the next time#they make Dain participate more#like he did in Requiem of the Echoing Depths

Did somebody say Bill shouldn't be allowed to swear? I think somebody said Bill shouldn't be allowed to swear. Thanks to that, have these retooled The Good Place jokes:
The "powers that be" can refer to either the Theraprism staff, the Axolotl, or just. Ya know. Disney in general. Or all three! Whichever you think is funniest. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
The "party" Bill's referring to is Weirdmageddon, of course. He was quite the ashhole to everyone back then.
Ford has probably gotten pretty good at the 'tune out your psychopathic ex with dank memes' challenge.
It must be very cathartic to be able to make Bill shut up whenever you want with just the press of a button. I'm sure Ford doesn't abuse this ability at all.
Oh, sure, 'Not now,' he says, before he immediately backs out of the newly-made hole in the Theraprism wall. đ
Don't worry, Bill doesn't get far.
also yeah i know this one doesn't have an attempted swear - i just wanted to use the joke because of the massive stink-eye involved in it because it makes me laugh
âŹïž More goofs beneath the brief ramble if you wanna skip it lmaoâŹïž
Why is Ford even there, you might ask? Well, he either decided he preferred to watch Bill suffer in person over being distantly and repeatedly harassed with the same evil desperation book for the rest of his life, or he got roped into some kind of contrived community service for 1.) all his many counts of interdimensional thievery, and 2.) his ignoring all the very clear warnings to NOT summon Bill in the first place (which I like to imagine is also illegal). Theraprism staff were just like, 'Wait, this guy matters to Bill? Ooh, we can USE that! It might be the only thing that can help him want to get better!' It is not considered that throwing Ford at Bill so soon after Weirdmageddon could instead make them both WORSE - in new and altogether special ways! :D
Anyway, I'm calling it the Community Service AU, and I am most likely not going to do anything else with it beyond appropriating these silly Good Place jokes. So, feel free to adopt the concept if y'all wanna??? Just make sure that Bill is still not allowed to swear, no matter what, full stop. It's gotta be a real linguistic corkblork of a situation for him, is all I'm sayin'.
Finally, have these bonus Good Place jokes, but with Handyman!Bill this time:
'Opposite tortures' doesn't sound so bad...at least until it's an all-powerful chaos entity known for torture saying it.
you may think i forgot mabel's cute pink cheeks but the truth is that i did in fact forget but then immediately stopped caring which makes it okay, SHHHHHHH
And, finally:
lmao this is shit
True facts, if you cram Season 1 Eleanor Shellstrop and Michael into a singular triangle shape, they turn into Bill Cipher. This is science, look it up. Or don't, and just trust the source that is me, bro.
Anyway, I should be in bed, y'all have fun with these, I guess. Tune in after like a week or so and maybe I'll have an addendum to my comic about how Bill was drawn naked for karaoke night. Because him actually being naked was not the only thing I considered as a plausible explanation. XD
Also if you see any inconsistencies or errors in any of these comics, No You Do Not :D
Also also, reblogs are rad as hell and I appreciate every single one, just don't repost, please and thanks. Every time a repost is made, an artist somewhere cries. :,)
#fanart#gravity falls#billford#bill cipher#stanford pines#stanley pines#dipper pines#mabel pines#pyronica#handyman bill au#book of bill#the good place#incorrect quotes#heck yeah i'm tagging billford - cuz these old men are EXES#jfc i said i wasn't going to color any other gravity falls stuff i made - and then what do i do?#i fukken color all of it#i may have a problem lmao#the green area outside the theraprism is because i forgot what was outside it and just went 'lol greenscreen idgaf'

Okay quick pause from things: Kaveh most definitely has talked to Mehrak all things about Alhaitham, his gripes, compliments he would wish to give him that seem to lodge in his throat, and most definitely each and every regret he longs to resolve, both past and present.
Mehrak is also the only thing Kaveh has willed to Alhaitham, in the case of something happening to him.
#hc; kaveh#//Kaveh once recorded a message for Haiyi; in case he were to meet his end before him#//He can't look back to try and edit it without ending up in tears; nor can he bring himself to get rid of it#//He's tried time and again to do a more updated version; but that one is the most emotional and open one of all he's made#//Since it was fresh after he moved in with Haiyi#//Took the opportunity to do it; since by all means; their cohabitation now meant Haitham was the closest thing to his next of kin now#//And all the feelings; good and bad were dredged up anew in extremely painful and vulnerable ways#//He figures he might as well give Haitham the most valuable thing he had; in thanks#//And a message only he would be able to hear in return#//That particular was the only recording for the longest time#//Then as their friendship began mending; Kaveh got a stupidly sentimental (his words) idea to have recordings of himself for Haiyi to have#//Should the worst happen to him and the man gets to keep Mehrak#//Maybe Haitham would find the sentiment foolish; he thinks; but he likes the idea of leaving him something to remember him by#//It's selfish; but he would HATE for Haitham to forget him. Thus; he'd record many; many messages for him#//Reminders to eat/drink; take care of himself; to go to work; several where he coaches Haitham how to make a favorite dish how KAVEH would#//He's even recorded himself just existing in their living room; working on blueprints or reading; so Haitham wouldn't feel 'alone'#//This is born out of wishing his own father had left recording like this for him#//Because Kav had started to forget the man's voice; even as he reads letters and his theses to try and keep it in mind#//It devastates him to no end; but no one actually knows the extent of distress it caused him in realizing it#death mention tw#//Almost forgot that lmao#//Okie; back to work I gooo#//Okay; quick addendum: Kav desperately wishes he could have Haitham record something too#//Maybe not to the extent he has; but SOMETHING#//Just so he could keep him and his voice forever preserved within Mehrak; should he lose Alhaitham for good#//Okie; byebye

childhood loves who grow into friends who will travel cross country for each otherâs weddings, full of pure, utter joy to see each other grown up and settled đ„čđ„č
i love a good childhood sweetheart/childhood friends to lovers as much as the next gal but
childhood loves who donât grow into grown up loves.
where youâre kids together, where youâre each otherâs first date maybe first kiss, where you maybe find each other a few times, but as you grow you find other people. and it means something even when youâre grown, even when youâre settled and married and happy, but thereâs no regret over it not working out. itâs just a moment in your life and itâs an important one, but itâs not the only one.
and maybe you stay close, maybe you talk all the time and itâs almost an inside joke how you were each otherâs first loves. maybe you drift apart, but you still think of each other and reach out from time to time, and itâs still easy to talk and to be around each other because youâre a part of each other even if thatâs not what you thought it might be when you were kids
#addendum in honor of MY childhood loveâs wedding#I donât have words for how much it means to me that we are still in each otherâs lives#and that I got to be here to see him get married â€ïžâ€ïž#finn writes#finn talks

I feel like Alfred keeps count of every time the kids have made him and Bruce update the house rules. Everyone expects Damian to not be in the list, since he's so uptight but just because he's very strict on his moral code doesn't mean he respects a random set of rules. He's made it a few times to the list including "no murder/maiming attempts at Tim the family" and "a limit of two pets per family member". He gets around the limit by making his siblings "adopt" his pets.
Both Damian and Cass are the reason behind a lot of the addendums to the "politeness" section of the rules. Or, as Jason puts it, the "normal human behavior rules". Problem is: Cass pretends to not know how to read even years down the line, so Bruce ends up giving her an audiobook version.
Now everyone assumes top of the list has to go to Jason or Dick. And to be fair, they do rack up quite a few rules to their name. The infamous "no hanging from the chandeliers" and "No C4 No explosive materials in the manor" are theirs. Dick got most of his as a kid and Jason as an adult.
But no, the top two spots for "most changes made to the rules" are Duke and Tim. They just can't help themselves. These aren't new big rules like the others, but a never ending barrage of addendums to preexisting rules. Like, the book looks like this at this point:
Everyone must participate in household chores
Everyone must do their chores for the day
Everyone must do their chores between 1:00 to 4:00 pm (and never at six am on Sunday)
Everyone must do only their chores at the specified times. It's forbidden to do a siblings chores and argue they should be punished for not doing them.
You can't do chores dressed in an inflatable trex costume
Etc etc
It's gotten so bad Bruce is thinking about making an online list just so he can stop reprinting it. Those two read the book of rules as if it's their life's mission to find loopholes. They follow the rules in the most obnoxious way possible. Stephanie helps them brainstorm from the comfort of her own house, knowing she doesn't have to deal with the consequences.

the package tracking: Package Delivered 3:40 PM Thursday
the apartment office: We don't have it, but maybe they'll do another round of deliveries this afternoon?
the post office, in person: the other post office is the only one that does deliveries now, and they're already closed for the weekend
the apartment office, 2 hours later: we don't have it
me: are you sure?
me: are you really sure?
me: are you really sure that the box of PERISHABLE EGGS is not in this office somewhere?
the apartment office: oh, actually we got it yesterday and it's in the return to sender pile
me: and why would it be there?
the apartment office: no idea. aren't you happy you have your package now?
me: do you not see why your behavior is a problem?
#paraphrasing here#but anyways fuck them for wasting my afternoon and trying to send back my mail#the apartment#also i made the mistake of mentioning they're for my snake#and they were like âwe don't allow snakesâ#when I literally moved here because when I called before applying they said reptiles were fine#but if they bitch about it I'll just say I said gecko#because i was paranoid enough to get him added to my lease in writing but too exhausted to go through that nonsense again#when i got the snake#especially after they'd kept saying that âoh getting a pet addendum for reptiles isn't actually requiredâ#and i feel like gaslighting isn't unethical when it's apartment staff#especially when they keep fucking with my mail#because i mean skinks eat eggs and it's not like they know the difference between skinks and geckos#worst case i have friends who would snake-sit#but tbh if they try to fuck with me I'll probably just blackmail them about the mold

I nattered on about this a while back as an addendum to one of my other posts, but it got a little lost since it was a reblog, and the idea of it's stuck with me, so I wanted to come back to it again and expand on it a little.
One of the major themes of Dead Boy Detectives is that the good you do comes back around.
It surfaces and resurfaces throughout the series. The instances in the final episode are the most spelled out for the viewer, but there's one example that lives at the very heart of the show that isn't quite so obvious on first glance.
When Charles dies, Edwin is newly returned from hell. The show doesn't specify the timeline aside from that he escapes hell in the same year he meets Charles, 1989, but overcoming that much trauma within a year is a big ask any way you slice it. He's spent seventy years in survival mode. He's got to be a wreck, still.
At this point, he hasn't had time to develop any complicated leniency schemes to keep himself out of hell. Certainly their detective agency hasn't been formed yet. It comes later, in 1990.
For the entire rest of the series, Edwin has a least a partial ulterior motive for the good he does. He takes on cases and tries to make an impact for their clients at least in part so that he can build himself up such a shield of decency that if he ever gets dragged back to hell, he can try to plead his case. He's so ashamed of this that he doesn't admit it out loud until he's forced to by magic.
But when he meets Charles, none of that plan is in place yet. Here he hasn't taken the time to sit down and work out a plan at all. Here the agency doesn't even exist.
He sees this boy in the attic, beaten and freezing and huddling in a corner, and he comes to offer the only thing he thinks he can: light.
And when he realizes he can give more than that â when he realizes that Charles can see him, and what that means â he stays and gives more. Comfort, and kindness, and company, in the very darkest hour of all.
He takes one look at how battered Charles is, and he tells him, "I shan't hurt you."
And it is a big deal.
Arguably this one line is the very best thing he could have said to Charles in this situation, and Edwin, who struggles with people, who has spent seventy years in hell, who is still trying to sort through his own trauma, takes one look at this boy who has been beaten soon-to-be to death, and he knows that intuitively.
And to Charles? It must have meant everything. Charles has spent his entire life trying to be good enough. He smiles and struggles to please. He does the best he can for whoever he can, and for his entire life, it has never been enough. He's been hurt, over and over again, for failing to live up to his father's impossible standards or guess at his impossible rules. His so-called friends turned on him and murdered him for trying to keep them from hurting someone else.
He's on the verge of tears, alone in the dark, dying.
And then Edwin steps up carrying the metaphorical and literal light in the darkness, and one of the very first things he ever says is, "I shan't hurt you."
That's the baseline. That offer comes when Charles isn't putting on a show. He's not being brave, or strong, or charming. He's hiding in a corner, quietly freezing to death. But here comes this boy anyway, with a light in the darkness and a promise not to hurt him.
It's a moment of simple, honest kindness â of Edwin doing good because he sees someone and he wants to help.
And to Charles, it makes such an impact that he gives up his afterlife for this boy. He spends the next thirty years stepping in front of things that would do him harm. He keeps the lantern and brings it with him, when he comes to save Edwin from hell.
It's that very first moment of kindness, in the attic, that sets into motion the events that result in Edwin's rescue.
That one moment of genuine good, with no furtive selfish side intentions, comes back around to save him. He only knows Charles at all because he stopped to help. Charles only didn't pass on to his afterlife because Edwin was there for him.
And then, all those years later, Charles sets out like Orpheus down into hell to get his best mate back.
That good has come around again. That light in the darkness, literally and figuratively both, is there for him in his lowest moment because he offered it to someone else when they desperately needed it.
And that's beautiful.

đđđđđ. I'm revisiting the cutscenes of Dain's AQs and it's pretty neat to notice little things with a fuller perspective:
⧠It never fails to interest me that he would know about Venti and Zhongli's identity.
⊠It's also pretty telling that he gives importance to his observations of other powerful creatures being subjected to the gods' whims, as if implying that they could very well do their own thing without being chained to them.
⧠About the Abyss Order: It's even harder now not to think that Dain knows where to appear and when, or at least more or less. In the AQ: Dainsleif he was chasing an Abyss Herald and went to Wolvendom and in AQ: We Will Be Reunited it is shown that he was actually on to something except he was too early when he did the first time he went to see Boreas (this calls for speculation if maybe there have been times in which he was in the Abyss and the sense of time was distorted, considering how it works there and how it warps one's perception, or if it was a miscalculation on his part to show up the first time he did when in reality he should've gone to that place later, whatever the caseâ if one of the uses he gives to his connection with Irminsul is to know exactly where to go and at which moment to achieve his goals, that's a pretty big move).
⊠I like the detail that he would seek information for someone, as Dain says he did in order to give the Abyss Twin information about Boreas. Given the circumstances of the time during the Cataclysm, I highly doubt that he would go around asking people in order to conjure a complete tale about Boreas or read into books when he has a reliable source of information. And speaking whichâ this does seem to indicate that back then he already had a connection with Irminsul.
⧠More about the Abyss Order: When Paimon comments about how much Dain knows about them and he says that they have a common history. It's impressive to see this now and realize that he must've meant that there was once a time in which they actually shared a nation and a daily life, considering that the Abyss Order was founded by Chlothar and, while not the whole Abyss Order is formed by Khaenri'ahns, it is safe to say that a significant portion of the organization is.
#âàŒșâ§àŒ»â events to be remembered in blue veins âaddendum.â#honestly seeing this again#makes me want to add a new small change#concerning the journey he made in the past during the Cataclysm#as they got separated at some point either way#but something rubs me the wrong way#it's mainly concerning that Dain has something to do too#other than following around the Abyss Twin#and this might be because of very loud comments I saw of the fandom#related to Dain and the Traveler#but in view that the Abyss Twin already was on to something#with the Abyss Order while still traveling with Dain#and revisiting his quote of they âtaking Dain to placesâ#it just feels wrong to me#because 1) it almost feels like they were taking advantage of him in a moment of vulnerability#2) there is also this thing about the Abyss Twin shit talking about him#so I might have to change that too#to make him have more autonomy#and revolve less around the Abyss Twin#I think I'll go to sleep now#as I'm fighting a headache#but I'm planning to continue revisiting Dain's AQs#and pour on different posts my thoughts!#tomorrow follows We Will Be Reunited uwu

YOU WERENâT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. You were the it-girl, so sought after. The shining star. You were the girl everyone wanted to beâeffortlessly beautiful, charming, and the center of attention at Jujutsu College. As a cheerleader, you had it all: the admiration of your peers, the envy of others, and the kind of popularity that opened every door.
Everywhere you went, eyes followed. Whispers trailed in your wake, a symphony of awe and envy that only fueled your rise to the top. You were untouchable, your smile a weapon, your presence a force. Parties, events, and the campus buzzed with your name. Everyone wanted to be near you, to bask in the glow of your effortless charisma. But all of that came crashing down when you chose to stand up for what you believed was right.
The whispers got worse the moment they took to the locker room. One of the newer cheerleaders, a girl named Emi, was their targetâshy, awkward, and an easy mark for their cruelty. You watched it unfold for days, biting your tongue, hoping it would stop. They were the same, the seniors who already graduated. You let them do it then, because you hoped theyâd stop like the seniors did. But they did not. Instead, it went too far.
You looked at them for a moment, trying not to be obvious. This was going too far. The girl was about to cry, maybe sheâd even get even more hurt. This is enough. You cannot stay and just stay silent anymore. Maybe it was the memory of your own first days on the squad, when you werenât yet the queen bee, when you still had something to prove. Or maybe it was just a sense of fairness that you couldnât ignore. But you knew that this had to stop. This has to end.
"God, Emi, you canât even get a basic cheer right. Why are you even here?" one of the girls sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
Emi stood frozen, her eyes welling up with tears. The other cheerleaders laughed, egging each other on, pushing her closer to the edge. You bit your lip, closing your locker with a loud bang, causing everyone to look at you. You could feel Emiâs eyes on you too, shaking with fear as tears fell from her cheeks.Â
âLeave her alone, you freaks!â you said, your voice sharp as you stepped forward. âThat is enough. She doesnât deserve this. Youâve gone too far, even more than our seniors!â
They turned to you, surprise flickering across their faces before it morphed into mockery. You moved forward to the captain, eyes narrowed as you glared at her. You shook your head at her. âJust leave her alone. Sheâs a freshman. She doesnât need your shit.â
âWhat, are you her knight in shining armor now?â one of the lackeys taunted, crossing her arms. âYouâre supposed to be on our side, arenât you? This is a tradition for us seniors.â
âIâm on the side thatâs not full of bullies.â you shot back, your anger boiling over. âBeing bullied doesnât mean you should be one!â
âWhatâs your problem?â another girl snapped, stepping closer, her tone threatening. âSheâs dead weight, and you know it.â
You clenched your fists, trying to keep your temper in check. âMy problem is that youâre all acting like a bunch of jerks. If you canât see that, then maybe youâre the dead weight.â
The tension in the room exploded like a storm that had been brewing for too long. You could feel it in the way the air seemed to thicken, in the way eyes narrowed and lips curled into sneers. It started with a harsh wordâone of those sly, cutting remarks that slid under the skin like a blade. But this time, you couldnât let it slide. Not when it was aimed at Emi, the quiet girl who had been on the receiving end of too many of those slights.
You were on your feet before you even realized it, the words spilling out of you in a rush of anger and defiance. âWhatâs your problem? Why do you always have to pick on someone whoâs done nothing to you?â
Your voice cut through the chatter, silencing the room. The others stared at you, shocked that youâof all peopleâwould dare to break ranks. The lead cheerleader, the queen bee, glared at you, her eyes narrowed into slits. âWhat, are you her bodyguard now? Donât act like youâre better than us.â
It was the spark that lit the fire. The room erupted into chaos as insults were hurled back and forth. You didnât back down, not when they turned their barbs on you, not when they sneered at Emi. It all escalated so fastâtoo fast. Suddenly, hands were shoving, nails were scratching, and before you knew it, you were in the middle of a full-blown fight.
You could barely make sense of it all. The adrenaline surged through you, drowning out the pain as someoneâs fist connected with your cheek, leaving a nasty bruise that would bloom later. All you could think about was protecting Emi, keeping her out of the fray, even as the world around you descended into chaos.
The chaos only ended when the coaches rushed in, their voices booming as they waded into the mess of tangled limbs and flaring tempers. They pulled you all apart, demanding to know what had happened, their faces a mix of shock and anger.
But it was too lateâthe damage was done. You could see it in their eyes, the way they looked at you now, like you were the problem. The principal was called in, and you found yourself standing in his office, staring at the floor as he lectured you about school spirit and the responsibilities that came with your position.
Your words fell on deaf ears. They didnât want to hear about the bullying, about how you were just trying to protect Emi. All they saw was the fight, the disruption, and the girl who had gone from golden to tarnished in a matter of minutes.
When you returned to the locker room, it was like a slap in the face. Your things had been removed from your team locker, stuffed unceremoniously into a bag and left on the floor. You were no longer welcome. The cheerleaders, the same girls who had once been your closest friends, looked at you with cold eyes and turned their backs.
You had wanted to protect Emi, and now you were left with a throbbing bruise, a reprimand from the principal, and a cold emptiness where your friends used to be. But even as you walked out of that locker room, head held high despite everything, you knew youâd do it all over again. Because some things were worth fighting for, even if it meant losing everything else.
The next day, you found yourself officially kicked off the squad. Well, Emi was also kicked out too, but you were glad that she wasnât at all hurt. That was what mattered. The news spread like wildfire, and the people who once idolized you now whispered behind your back. Your world felt like it was crumbling, and you couldnât help but wonder if youâd made the biggest mistake of your life.
Later that afternoon, you found yourself sitting alone outside, trying to process everything that had happened. Emi had repeatedly apologized to you today, but you kept waving her off and told her to stay safe around school. It wasnât really her fault. Maybe if you had acted much earlier, maybe Emi wouldnât have had to go through the worst. Perhaps this was your punishment. This was what happened because of your inaction. And you feel like you deserve this. You deserve to be punished like this. You could only sigh.
Thatâs when you heard someone approaching.
âYou know, I always thought cheerleaders were supposed to be a tight-knit group.â a voice drawled.Â
You looked up to see Gojo Satoru standing there, hands in his pockets, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. âGuess I was wrong, huh?â
âGuess so.â you muttered, feeling the sting of his words even though they werenât meant to hurt. âIâm sorry, have I met you before?â
âI donât think so.â He says, removing his round sunglasses. âHave we met before too?â
âDonât think so.â You admitted also, face scrunching in confusion. âI donât meddle around with unpopular kids.â
âHey, hey, Iâm not unpopular.â
âThen why have I never heard of your name before?â You raised your brow.
âI donât know, maybe you were too focused on being a cheerleader and me being a Digimon stan?âÂ
âOh, so youâre a nerd!â You clapped your hands together. âThat makes sense why I havenât heard about you.â
He sighed. âYou cheerleaders are cut throats, arenât you?â
âIâm an exâcheerleader now. Not really much of a cheerleader anymore.â You snickered. âThose pom pom waving mean girls, goodbye them!â
He plopped down next to you, stretching out his long legs. âSo, whatâs the plan now? Are you gonna go all lone wolf, or are you open to a new company?â
You raised an eyebrow at him. âWhy do you care?â
Gojo shrugged, his smile widening. âBecause Iâm curious about the girl who went from queen bee to outcast in one day. That takes guts.â
You couldnât help but laugh, though it came out a little bitter. âOr stupidity.â
âOr both, you know?â he agreed easily. âBut I like guts. So does Shoko. And Suguru. And Kento and Haibara. Youâd fit right in with us.â
âFit in?â you echoed, not sure if he was being serious. Your face reminded Satoru of how Kento reacted to him asking to be his friend.Â
âYeah.â he said, leaning back on his hands, looking up at the sky. âWeâre not exactly the most popular kids on campus, but weâre fun. And we donât care about that petty stuff.â
Before you could respond, Shoko Ieiri appeared, hands stuffed in her lab coat pockets, a cigarette dangling from her lips. âYouâre not bothering her, are you, Gojo?â
âMe? Bother someone? Never, Sho.â Gojo said, feigning innocence. âJust making a new friend.â
Shoko rolled her eyes and looked at you. âHeâs right, though. Youâre welcome to hang with us if you want.â
You hesitated, glancing between them. âI donât knowâŠâ
âDonât worry about it,â Shoko said with a lazy grin. âWe donât bite. Well, maybe Gojo does, but only if you ask nicely.â
You laughed again, this time more genuinely. âOkay⊠I guess Iâll give it a shot.â
As the days passed, you found yourself drifting away from the cheerleaders and into a new circle. It started subtly at first, with Gojo casually inviting you to sit with him and Shoko during lunch. Gojoâs easygoing nature made it hard to say no, and Shokoâs dry humor quickly drew you in.Â
They didnât seem to care about the drama that had turned your life upside down. Gojoâs bright grin and carefree attitude were a stark contrast to the cold shoulders youâd been getting from your former friends. Shoko, with her sharp wit and laid-back demeanor, offered a kind of friendship that felt refreshing, real in a way that the cheerleading squad never had.
Soon, Geto Suguru and Nanami Kento joined in. Suguru had a quiet confidence about him, a steady presence that was both comforting and intriguing. He didnât ask about the fight or why you werenât with the cheerleaders anymore. Instead, he offered a warm smile and an understanding nod, as if he knew without needing to be told.
Nanami, on the other hand, was more reserved. He didnât speak much at first, but his presence was reassuring. There was a steadiness to him, a sense of reliability that you hadnât realized you craved. He welcomed you into their group with a subtle nod, a small but genuine gesture that told you he saw you for who you were now, not who you had been before.
Each of them, in their own way, made room for you. They didnât treat you like the fallen star or the girl with the tarnished reputation. With them, you didnât have to pretend. You could be yourselfâno masks, no expectations. And slowly, you began to feel something you hadnât felt in a long time: belonging.
That afternoon, all of you were sitting together under a tree on campus, watching the world go by. Geto Suguru was in the middle of explaining something, his voice calm and soothing, while Nanami listened quietly, offering his thoughts every now and then. Yu was more excited trying to make friends with you than before. You think it's interesting, how this ball of sunshine saw you as some sort of superhero for what you did, even if you didnât.
Yu Haibara, ever the sunshine in human form, plopped down beside you with a grin. âHey, I heard about what happened with the cheer squad. Pretty badass, if you ask me.â
You smiled, feeling the warmth of genuine friendship for the first time in what felt like forever. âThanks. I wasnât sure if it was the right thing, butâŠâ
âIt was! Youâre so cool, you know?â Haibara said firmly. âStanding up for someone who needed it? Thatâs always the right thing.â
âBesides, itâs just what it is, you know?â Geto added, looking over at you. He was smoking his cigarette roll, one he made himself. âYou donât have to be what you arenât.â
âYeah.â Nanami agreed, his voice steady and reassuring. âYou donât have to pretend to be something youâre not with us.â
You looked around at themâthis group of people who had taken you in without hesitation, who saw you for who you really were, not just the image you had projected for so long. And for the first time in a while, you felt like you were exactly where you were meant to be.
As the weeks went by, you found a surprising sense of belonging with Gojo, Shoko, Suguru, Nanami, and Yu. They had become your new circle of friends, and their acceptance gave you a fresh start that you didnât know you needed. They were a new sort of fun, a different kind of excitement that was worlds apart from the polished, high-pressure life youâd known as the it-girl.
With them, your days became filled with spontaneous adventures. Gojo was always dragging everyone to the arcade, where his competitive streak made every game feel like a high-stakes challenge. Shoko would roll her eyes at his antics but still join in, her laughter adding to the cacophony of beeping machines and cheerful music. Suguru, ever the cool-headed one, had a knack for choosing the perfect music stores to visit, introducing you to tracks that soon became the soundtrack to this new chapter of your life.
Nanami and Suguru were more reserved, especially at first. You could tell they were still feeling you out, trying to figure out if you really fit into their group. But even in their uncertainty, they made an effort. Nanami, despite his serious demeanor, would show up at the burger joints Gojo loved, quietly indulging in the greasy food and ridiculous banter. Suguru, with his calm presence, would often give you a slight smile or a nod, a small but significant sign that you were being welcomed, even if it was cautiously.
Yu was the glue that held it all together, his infectious energy and boundless enthusiasm pulling everyone along. Satoru was as enthusiastic as he was, but unlike him â Yu was someone that tried to keep everyone in good peace together. And he was good. He had a way of making you feel included, whether it was by handing you a spare controller at the arcade or making sure you got the best seat at the burger joint.
Thatâs just how it was with them. You didnât have to worry about the petty dramas or the constant pressure to be perfect. With this group, it was all about the momentâthe thrill of a high score, the taste of a greasy burger, the discovery of a new song. And you liked it. You liked who you were becoming with them.
Gojo leaned back in his chair, tossing a sugar packet from one hand to the other. âYou know, you fit in with us better than you did with that cheer squad.â
You shot him a playful glare. âAre you saying I was too good for them?â
Shoko rolled her eyes. âStop teasing, Gojo. Youâre ruining the vibe.â
âHey, Iâm not!â Gojo argues as his grin spreads, âJust that our new friend here is way cooler than they ever gave them credit for.â
You looked at Shoko, who was sipping her coffee with a look of amused tolerance, added, âHeâs right. They were just too busy with their drama to see how awesome you are.â
Suguru, sitting across from you, offered a more thoughtful observation. He bit into his fries. âSometimes, it takes getting knocked down to realize where you truly belong. You were always meant to be with people who appreciate you for who you are.â
Nanami, who had been quietly observing, nodded in agreement. âYouâre a good blend with us, I think. Weâve had a lot of fun since you joined us.â
Yu Haibara, always the optimist, leaned in with a grin. âYeah, and youâve made things a lot more interesting around here. Itâs not every day we get someone with your⊠spirit.â
You smiled, feeling a warm flush of gratitude. âThanks, guys. I wasnât sure where Iâd fit in after everything that happened, but I really appreciate how welcoming youâve all been.â
The conversation shifted to lighter topics, and you found yourself laughing more than you had in a long time. It was a refreshing change from the pressure and pretense of your previous life.Â
As the night wore on, Gojo suddenly stood up and stretched. âHey, whoâs up for a late-night walk? I heard thereâs a new food truck downtown.â
Shoko raised an eyebrow. âYou just want an excuse to get more snacks.â
âGuilty as charged.â Gojo admitted with a wink. âBut youâre all welcome to join if youâre up for it.â
âSounds good to me.â Suguru said, standing up and grabbing his coat.Â
You looked around at your friends, feeling a genuine sense of contentment. âIâm in.â
âYou feeling cold?â Suguru asked as he saw you stand from the booth.Â
âA littleââ He threw you his jacket, which you were barely able to catch.
âPut it on.â
âOâoh, okay.â
As you all walked together through the city streets, the cool night air filled with laughter and conversation, you realized how different this life felt from the one you had left behind. There were no superficial judgments, no hidden agendasâjust a group of people who valued each otherâs company and had each otherâs backs.
Later, as you shared food and stories under the streetlights, you found yourself in a moment of quiet reflection. You had come so far from the popular girl who had been kicked out of the cheer squad. You were no longer defined by your past status or the mistakes youâd made. Instead, you were part of a new chapter, one where you were valued for who you truly were.
Gojoâs laughter broke through your thoughts as he tossed a piece of popcorn into the air, catching it with a grin. âSee? This is what lifeâs aboutâgood friends, good food, and not taking things too seriously.â
You laughed, feeling the weight of the past lift off your shoulders. âI couldnât agree more.â
In that moment, you knew that despite everything you had been through, you had found something real and genuine. And as you walked beside your new friends, you felt a renewed sense of hope for the future, knowing that wherever life took you next, you would face it with people who truly cared about you.
But in that moment, Geto Suguru looked at you and thought to himself for a moment, just for that moment â how good happiness looks on you.
°ââ.àłàż*:đ*à©đàŒâ
IF HE WAS BEING HONEST, HEâS NOT ONE TO TRUST PEOPLE EASILY. But coming from a rough place in life, it was something that canât be helped. So, in the beginning, Geto Suguru had his reservations about you. Heâd heard the rumors about the cheerleader who had once been the queen of Jujutsu College, and he wasnât impressed. To him, you seemed like just another snob who was used to getting their way and couldnât be bothered with anyone outside her circle.
When Gojo tried to blend you into the group, Suguruâs attitude was guarded, and for a good reason. So, he kept his distance and even interacted with you, he tried to be casual, trying to not get too deep into it.
He remembers what he said then â âIâm not really into the whole âcheerleaderâ thing,â heâd said with a shrug. âNot my style. So they're still not my style either.â
You had sensed his cold demeanor but tried not to let it bother you. Instead, you focused on being yourselfâfriendly, outgoing, and always ready to lend a hand. You wanted to prove that you werenât just the image people had of you. Even though you could still be rough in the edges with your personality, it didnât stop people from enjoying your company.Â
And over time, Geto Suguru began to see a different side of you. You didnât just laugh at his jokes or offer superficial compliments, nor were you as stuck up as people make you out to be; you were genuinely kind and considerate. You had a really good way of making others feel comfortable, and it wasnât long before he found himself intrigued by the real you, the one who went out of their way to help others despite their own struggles.
One evening, as the group hung out at a quiet park, you were sitting on the grass, talking animatedly about a new project you were excited about. If he was being honest, excitement was a beautiful color on you. And he thinks that he wants to see more of that in you. He could only sigh as he thought about how much youâve occupied his mind. He shakes his head. Suguru looks above the sky, trying to distract himself while Satoru spoke to everyone about his new date.Â
âYou know, Suguru.â you said, glancing over at him, snapping him back to reality. âI really appreciate how youâve been around lately. And how not awkward it is between us now. It means a lot to me.â
Suguru raised an eyebrow. âIâm just here because Gojo dragged me along. Donât get any ideas.â
You laughed, unfazed. âYeah, yeah. But seriously, youâre not as bad as I thought youâd be. I guess weâre not so different after all.â
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. âMaybe. But donât get the wrong idea. Iâm not here to make friends. Iâm here because I have to be.â
Despite his words, you noticed subtle changes in his behavior. He was more engaged in conversations around you, his smiles more frequent, and heâd even started teasing you back. You found yourself drawn to him more and more, your feelings shifting from admiration to something deeper. The way he would look at you, even with his usual aloofness, made your heart race.Â
After a particularly lively conversation about your favorite books, Suguru caught you off guard with a rare moment of vulnerability. He looked at you with an intensity that made your breath hitch.Â
âYouâre really persistent, you know that?â he said, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. âI didnât think Iâd be saying this, but youâve managed to get under my skin.â
You grinned, feeling a rush of hope. âIs that a good thing?â
Suguru looked away, his expression turning more serious. âIâm not sure. I told myself Iâd just tolerate you, but⊠the more I hang around, the harder it is to keep my distance.â
He was fighting it, trying to convince himself that his growing feelings for you were nothing more than an annoyance. âI donât know what youâre trying to do.â he continued, frustration evident in his voice. âBut Iâm not someone who easily changes his mind. So donât expect too much.â
Despite his words, there was a softness in his eyes when he looked at you, a clear sign that he was fighting a losing battle. The more you interacted, the more he found himself charmed by your genuine warmth and infectious enthusiasm. And he didnât know what to feel about that. He doesnât know how to react to you.
You were infatuated with him, and it became clear that you wanted his attentionâmore than just casual conversation, more than friendly banter. You wanted to be the one who made him smile, the one he thought about when he was alone.
And though Suguru tried to keep his distance, you could see the cracks in his resolve. His stoic exterior was melting away, little by little, with every shared laugh, every meaningful conversation. He couldnât deny the way he felt any longer, no matter how much he tried to convince himself otherwise.
In moments of quiet, when it was just the two of you, Geto Suguruâs demeanor softened. He would catch himself gazing at you with an expression that betrayed his irritation with his own feelings. He was torn between his desire to remain aloof and the undeniable pull he felt towards you. As you continued to be your bubbly, charming self, Suguru found himself drawn to you more and more, fighting a battle he wasnât sure he wanted to win.
The house party was in full swing by the time you and your friends arrived. The sorority house was buzzing with energy, and the crowd was a mix of familiar faces and new ones. You were excited to be there, especially because you had a date with youâMark, a guy you had been seeing for a few weeks.Â
Suguru Geto, always the reserved observer, was there too, though he seemed more detached from the festivities. He had taken a spot near the snack table, his gaze scanning the room. When he noticed you with Mark, he gave a curt nod but didnât say much.
As the night progressed, Suguru found himself cornered by Mark, who was chatting animatedly with a group of people. You had gone off to mingle with others, leaving Mark to his own devices. Suguru, being the stand-up guy he was, decided to introduce himself.
âHey, Iâm Suguru.â he said, offering a polite smile. âSo, whatâs your story, bro?â
Mark took a swig of his drink and grinned. âOh, Iâm just here to have a good time, mess around, party hard. You know how it is.â
Suguru nodded, trying to make conversation. âYeah, I get it. So, how long have you and my friend been seeing each other?â
Markâs smile faltered slightly. âA few weeks. But, honestly, they're kind of a handful.â
Suguruâs eyes narrowed slightly, but he kept his tone neutral. âOh? How so?â
Mark shrugged, looking around to make sure no one else was listening. âTheyâre always so cheerful and in-your-face. It gets old pretty fast. And donât get me started on their mood swings. Sometimes theyâre all sunshine and other times, theyâre just⊠exhausting.â
Suguruâs smile faltered, and he could feel a simmering anger rising. âI wouldnât say that. Theyâre actually really kind and caring. Maybe theyâre just passionate around you.â
Mark snorted. âPassionate? More like overâdramatic. You must be used to it, though, considering you hang out with them.â
Suguruâs jaw tightened. âI think you should stop talking about them like that.â
Mark raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the reaction he was getting. âWhy? Itâs the truth. You know, they could be a lot better if they just⊠toned it down a bit.â
Suguruâs eyes darkened as he took a deep breath. âSeriously, stop it.â
Mark continued, oblivious to Suguruâs mounting frustration. âTheyâre always making everything about themselves, always trying to be the center of attention. I donât get why youâd even bother with them. Theyâre literally likeâŠ.a bitch..â
Without warning, Suguruâs hand tightened around his beer bottle. He took a step forward, his voice low and dangerous. âI said, stop.â
The tension in the room was thick, a simmering undercurrent that everyone felt but no one acknowledgedâuntil Mark pushed too far. He had been needling Suguru all night, his criticisms growing more pointed, more personal with each passing minute. The rest of you tried to steer the conversation away, but Mark wouldnât let it go, his words becoming sharper, crueler.
Suguru had been holding back, his calm facade cracking only slightly as he tried to keep his temper in check. But when Mark ignored him and continued with his relentless criticisms, something inside Suguru snapped.
In an instant, he moved. With a swift, fluid motion, Suguru swung his beer bottle, the action so smooth it was almost graceful. The bottle connected with Markâs face with a sharp crack. The impact was immediate and satisfying, sending Mark stumbling backward as beer splashed across the floor, the bottle shattering in Suguruâs hand.
The room fell into stunned silence.
âGoddamn it, Suguru!â Shokoâs voice was the first to break the quiet, a mix of shock and exasperation. She stepped forward, ready to pull Suguru back if needed, though there was a slight smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. âCouldnât you have at least waited until he finished his drink?â
Nanami, who had been lounging in the corner, raised an eyebrow but didnât move from his spot. âWell, that escalated quickly.â
Shoko sighed deeply, looking around. âIâll call someone to clean this up. And maybe get some ice for Mark.â
Mark, clutching his face where Suguru had punched him, looked up in stunned disbelief. âWhat the hell, man? Youâre crazy!â
Suguruâs eyes were cold as he glared down at him. âNo. Iâm done listening to your crap. You shouldâve known when to shut up.â
âYou all are a bunch of crazy freaks! Especially that bitch!â
âYou donât get to talk about them like that!â Suguru said, his voice steady but filled with a cold edge. âNot on my watch.â
Mark looked up at him, a mix of pain and surprise in his eyes. He didnât say anything, just backed away slowly, still holding his nose. Yu came between them. âHey, hey. Letâs all calm down, okay?â
Suguru turned on his heel and walked away, heading outside to cool down. He needed some fresh air and space to collect his thoughts. You, having witnessed the altercation from a distance, rushed over to Suguru, concern etched on your face.
You spotted Suguru standing alone in the hallway, his gaze distant as he tried to calm down from the confrontation. Determined to get some answers, you made a beeline for him, your concern and curiosity palpable.
âSuguru, what happened back there?â you asked, trying to piece together the events of the night. âWhy did you hit Mark?â
Suguru glanced at you, his expression a mix of embarrassment and frustration. âIt was nothing. He just⊠he crossed a line.â
âNo,â you said, putting the pieces together with a sudden burst of realization. âHe called me a bitch, didnât he? Thatâs why you hit him. You hit him for me!â
Suguru looked away, his cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. âNo, thatâs notââ
âYes, it is!â you interrupted, your excitement and relief bubbling over. âI know I can be a lot sometimes, and I am a bitch! But you actually care about me. You love me, donât you?â
Suguruâs face turned a deeper shade of red, and he mumbled, âNoâŠI didnâtâŠâ
Suguruâs thoughts were still a whirlwind, his mind racing to process the events of the night and the emotions that came with them. He needed to clear his head, and talking to Gojo seemed like the quickest way to do that. He excused himself and quickly went back inside. As he entered the kitchen, the room was a stark contrast to the chaos outsideâbright, warm, and filled with the comforting aroma of Gojo Satoruâs sandwich-making.
Gojo stood by the counter, casually assembling a towering sandwich with practiced ease. His movements were relaxed and carefree, a stark contrast to the tension that Suguru was radiating. He glanced up, taking in the scene with a curious, slightly amused expression.
âWhatâs going on, man?â Gojo asked, his tone light as he continued to layer on the ingredients. âI heard there was a bit of a commotion.â
Suguru tried to compose himself, but the frustration was evident in his voice. âMark was being a complete jerk. He was bad-mouthing them, and I⊠I lost my temper.â
Gojo raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. âHe was talking about them? What did he say?â
Suguruâs jaw clenched as he recounted the encounter. âHe kept going on about how they are a handful and how theyâre exhausting. He was just being really disrespectful. Even called them a bitch, mind you!â
Gojoâs eyebrows knitted together in surprise. âAnd you punched him for it?â
Suguru nodded, his gaze intense. âYeah, I did. He wouldnât stop, and I just couldnât let him keep talking like that.â
Gojoâs expression shifted from amusement to genuine concern. âAre they okay?â
Suguruâs frustration softened a bit as he considered your well-being. âTheyâre fine. I mean, they did seem surprised, maybe in some way upset, I donât know. But theyâre okay. Itâs just⊠I donât like seeing them being talked about like that.â
Gojoâs eyes sparkled with a mix of mischief and understanding. âSo, youâre defending them, huh?â
Suguruâs face flushed slightly, and he rubbed the back of his neck. âItâs not just about defending them. Itâs justââ
Gojo looked up from his sandwich-making with a raised eyebrow. âYeah, but is your lover okay?â
Suguru froze, caught off guard. âThey are not my lover, Gojo.â he snapped, defensively. âThey are justââ
Gojoâs eyes sparkled with mischief. âOh? Then whyâd you hit him? Seems like youâre more concerned than youâre letting on.â
Suguru glared at Gojo. âIâm not concerned, I justââ
âUhâuhuh, keep talking.â
âIâm just some friendâacquaintance. Worried.â Suguru narrowed his eyes. âSeriously, Satoru. I donât know what youâre going on about. If I'm in love with them, shoot me.â
Without missing a beat, Gojo grinned, âBang.â He made a playful gun gesture with his hand and gave Suguru a wide grin. âCupidâs bullets confirm!â
Suguru stared at him, dumbfounded. âAre you serious? This is notââ
Gojo laughed, clearly enjoying the confusion. âJust kidding, Suguru. You know Iâm just messing with you.â
Suguru sighed heavily, his frustration giving way to a reluctant chuckle. âYouâre impossible, you know that?â
Gojo shrugged, still grinning. âJust having a bit of fun. But seriously, if you need to talk or if somethingâs going on, Iâm here. Just donât let things like this get you too worked up.â
Suguru nodded, a mix of relief and embarrassment on his face. âThanks, Gojo. I guess I needed that.â
With a final, reassuring pat on Suguruâs shoulder, Gojo returned to his sandwich-making. He took a deep breath and went back outside. You were talking with Shoko when you noticed Suguru come back outside towards your way. You were about to speak when Suguru turned back to you. There was a softer, more earnest look in his eyes as he met your gaze.
He looked at you with a determination, his voice steady but kind. âTake your coat, doll.â he said, offering it to you. âWeâre getting out of here.â
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by his sudden decision but relieved by the prospect of escaping the party. Without protest, you slipped on your coat and followed him out into the cool night air. The contrast between the cold outside and the warmth of the party was a welcome change, the crisp air a refreshing balm against your senses.
As you walked to the parking lot, Suguruâs silence was a comforting presence. His demeanor was calm and purposeful, a stark contrast to the turbulence of the evening. He led you to his car, and you both got in, the engineâs hum a soothing sound against the backdrop of the night.
Soon enough, you found yourselves parked in the lot of a nearby fast-food chain. The neon lights of the restaurant flickered against the dark sky, casting an almost surreal glow over the scene. It felt like a world away from the party, a simple, unpretentious refuge.
Suguru ordered a handful of burgers and fries, his movements deliberate and focused. You followed suit, choosing your favorites with a sense of familiarity. As you both settled on the hood of the car, the comfort of the fast food and the tranquility of the night began to ease the tension.
You took a bite of your burger, the flavors surprisingly comforting. Despite the simplicity of the setting, there was something deeply satisfying about the moment. âThis is the best date ever.â you said with a grin, the warmth of the food and Suguruâs presence making the night feel a little brighter.
Suguru looked at you, a bemused expression on his face. âWe havenât talked in half an hour.â
âThat doesnât matter,â you said, shaking your head. âItâs nice just being with you, even if this doesnât seem like much.â
Suguru looked away, a soft smile tugging at his lips. âItâs not as bad as going bowling.â
You blinked, puzzled. âBowling? I didnât know you liked bowling.â
He shrugged, leaning back against the car. âI do. Itâs something I enjoy, and being with you is kind of like thatâenjoyable and relaxing, even if itâs not always fancy.â
You tilted your head, contemplating his words. Then, feeling bold, you leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. Suguruâs eyes widened slightly, but he responded, kissing you back with a tenderness that melted away any remaining tension.
When you finally parted, you looked up at him, a soft smile on your lips. âNot too bad?â
Suguruâs gaze softened as he met your eyes, a genuine smile spreading across his face. âNot too bad.â he agreed, his voice warm.
You both shared a comfortable silence, the world outside the fast-food restaurant feeling a million miles away. As you finished your burgers and settled back into a peaceful quiet, you knew that despite everything, moments like these were what mattered most.
You and Suguru remained on the car hood, finishing off the last of your burgers. The night was crisp and clear, the occasional hum of passing cars providing a steady backdrop to your conversation.
âSo, whatâs your favorite part about bowling?â you asked, genuinely curious and trying to keep the mood light.
Suguru chuckled, a soft sound that warmed the chilly air. âItâs the combination of skill and luck, I guess. Plus, itâs fun to just throw the ball and watch it knock down the pins. Itâs simple, but satisfying.â
You smiled, enjoying his enthusiasm. âMaybe we should go bowling sometime. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun.â
Suguruâs eyes twinkled as he looked at you. âIâd like that. I think youâd be pretty good at it. Youâve got a good arm from throwing those frisbees around at the park.â
You laughed, leaning into him. âYou think so? Iâll hold you to that.â
Suguru wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer. âItâs a promise.â
The warmth of his embrace was comforting, and you snuggled closer, resting your head on his shoulder. The night was quiet, and for a while, you just enjoyed the peacefulness of the moment.
Suguru glanced at you, his expression softening even further. âYou know, despite everything that happened tonight, Iâm really glad we ended up here. I like these moments with you. They remind me of why I care so much.â
You tilted your head up to look at him, your eyes reflecting the soft glow of the streetlights. âMe too, Suguru. Itâs the simple things, like eating burgers and talking about bowling, that make me realize how much I enjoy being with you.â
Suguru gave a small, affectionate smile, his fingers gently brushing against your cheek. âSometimes, itâs the simple things that mean the most.â
You sighed contentedly, feeling a deep sense of connection. âI guess thatâs true. And, even though tonight didnât go as planned, it ended up being pretty perfect in its own way.â
Suguru chuckled softly, his gaze fixed on you. âYeah, it did.â
You both sat there for a while longer, sharing soft kisses and quiet laughter, savoring the simplicity of the moment. The night air was cool, but the warmth between you made it feel like the coziest place in the world.
Eventually, Suguru shifted slightly, pulling you closer as he gave you a tender kiss on the forehead. âLetâs head back. I think weâve had enough excitement for one night.â
You nodded, standing up and stretching as Suguru helped you off the car hood. âSounds good. But we definitely need to plan that bowling trip soon.â
Suguru laughed, offering you his hand. âItâs a date.â
As you walked back to the car, hand in hand, the night seemed a little brighter, and the world a little warmer. The small, spontaneous moments were what made your time together truly special, and you both knew that, no matter what, youâd always find a way to cherish them.
