Ada Trevelyan’s uncle always hosts the family’s huge holiday get-togethers and it’s one of the times of the year she looks forward to the most. This year, in between hanging out with her cousins, she’s going to subtly lead Carver around to all the places her aunt made sure to hang mistletoe.

I do. Every one means so much to me!

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

This one, born from a tumblr prompt where someone sent me “don’t leave me.” Cullen dies in the battle for the Arbor Wilds. I can’t believe my gall. 

Special shout out as well to this Leon and Ada fic (Resident Evil) By far the angstiest and most dysfunctional couple I’ve written.  

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

I prefer fics with bittersweet endings, more on the sweet than bitter, and endings were it was hard fought and worth it. Non of my main fics have or will have an outright downer ending. I really like the ending I have planned out for IWD, but of those written I’m going to go with The sweetest Sorrow. It’s pretty unambiguous they lived a long and happy life

7. Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I do not, unless you count my Warden and Morrigan romance fic that takes place during DAI but flashes back to DAO.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I’ve received unsolicited concrit more than anything but I can only count a few occasions, I have been very fortunate. Sometimes there’s the WHERE IS THE REST comment which is disheartening and do not make me want to continue.

For a plot point in OIL there were a couple of...salty people who had salt about this one plot point and that was...very bizarre lol.  

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I do, quite often, though I prefer writing organic and sensual scenes as they come in the story rather than one offs, though I do write one off smutty scenes if I get an idea

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of. Hope not.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

I have not.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

I’m always going to have a soft spot for Cullen/Lydia because they got me into writing seriously again.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Never say never but my Jaime and Brienne actor/actress AU. I published a chapter this year, may find it in me to finish.

15. What are your writing strengths?

Lyrical prose, dialogue, character thoughts. 

6. What are your writing weaknesses?

Keeping momentum. My best writing needs to marinate and spice, but oftentimes I hyperfocus and feel like I need to get a chapter out ASAP when I know I could take my time. 

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I don’t have a lot of spicy opinions on this honestly. Or opinions are all.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Dragon Age: Inquisition.

19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I think The Sweetest Sorrow is the best--doesn’t meander, has moments of levity and sweetness but keeps it’s tract. My favorite is IWD, specifically the second half because I’m writing it right now and it just has themes and explorations I’m interested in, but  I have a soft spot for all.

While I do understand your hesitation in accepting Mlle. Trevelyan into your program due to her young age, I ask once again that you reconsider your stance. Adelaide has shown exceptional compassion and care of our own patients and has spent time assisting our physicians in minor surgeries, often pointing out details that have been key to saving the life of a patient. She is quick to learn techniques and takes initiative to ask probing questions that further her learning. While we have a small medical staff on hand here to aid in births and emergencies, I fear that we have reached our limit of what we can educate her in. To not encourage her to hone her Maker-given talents would be unthinkable.

I also implore you to think of the looming political tensions on the horizon. With the threat of war almost within reaching distance, our country will soon be in need of every medic available. I pray that it will not come to it, but adding a young, talented surgeon with the finest education that the University could offer would be a much-needed blessing.

nearly illegible half-burnt note found in a Chantry dormitory hearth, scribbled by an unknown recruit. The letter is later used as evidence of one Rolfe Trevelyan's self-defense ending in the death of a templar recruit.

...fuckin bastard Trevelyan thinks he's too good for this unit. Shouldn't (illegible) parent's money bought off Ser Caldwell. Only way he got into the Order, has to be. Should have been ME making the cut, not some (burnt parchment makes the rest of the lines unreadable)

Rolfe ain't got the skill needed to be a spy. Mark my words, he'll wind up getting his rich, pampered little throat slit on his first mission and no one will mourn him. Meet me at the rookery at the usual time. He'll be alone to get his first message, might as well do the cuttin' ourselves just to make sure ONE thing in his life isn't fucked up.

By virtue of being the one without the environmental suit, Emery. Not that it hasn't stopped Tali from attempting it a few times, but they're very good at getting it back from her.

14. Who gets cold the easiest?

Once again, by the virtue of the one without the environmental suit, Emery.

15. Who pays for the food the most, when they go out?

Mostly Emery, thanks to being on either the Spectre or Cerberus bank roll for the early portion of their dating life. And Tali often lets them, particularly while Emery was still reluctant with Cerberus because she found it rather amusing that they were spending Cerberus money on dates (and often waivering it as "business expenses") for their Quarian girlfriend. Also she has been known to complain, half jokingly, that they never take her anywhere nice.

16. Do they enjoy dancing?

Tali adores dancing, Emery is terrible at it and their best attempt at dancing can be described as "dad dancing." They do, however, love watching Tali dance and see her really enjoy herself (and the view....)

43. Favourite family member of their lover?

Josephine has had the misfortune to meet the majority of the Trevelyans, mostly in a professional capacity, even if Arthur has cut the majority of them out of his life by the time the Inquisition has been disbanded; but her favourite family member of hers is Arthur's mother, Licinia. Josephine simply adores her and they definitely bonded over their love of theatre and performance.

Arthur promised Josephine he would not pick favourites, because she has a large family including four siblings, and a bunch of nieces, nephews and cousins, and picking a favourite could possibly cause absolute pandamonium but... it's Yvette. Even if he had to go stop her from eloping with a dashing pirate prince. More than once.

44. How are the holidays spent?

Usually with Josephine's family, once the Inquisition has disbanded, particularly Satinalia as it's a particularly large occasion in Antiva. The majority of their first Satinalia in Antiva is spent alone, though, since they had only recently gotten married and that holiday can uhhhh get pretty wild. Sometimes they will go visit Arthur's mother in Orlais for one of the holidays (usually Wintersend or Summerday), particularly once the children are born. The only notable exception for them spending the holidays with either Arthur’s mother or Josephine’s entire family is All Souls’ Day at the beginning of Matrinalis. Arthur is expected to attend the service at the Grand Cathedral there in  Val Royeaux as Andraste’s Herald, even when he is no longer the Inquisitor. It’s the one holiday he would most likely skip given the opportunity, but it is also one of the few times he gets to see Vivienne once she becomes Divine, and so he tolerates it.

45. How are birthdays spent?

Depends on the birthday. Arthur doesn't like to celebrate his own, at least not on a large scale. For his, he and Josephine usually just go on a date to a restaurant together, followed by a nice evening walk in whichever city they're in. As for Josephine's, he always insists she takes the day off and not even think about work; she can do whatever she want for that day since she just never takes enough time for herself and he'll cover the cost. Sometimes it's something as simple as she wants to just spend the day by the docks in Antiva City, or it might be a lavish theatre date.

the thing about ada is that she does not give a shit about their parents at all, and when she developed and understanding of her father sent]ding her older brother away it increased that lack of care to the point of outright antagonism. she was ten when hal left. a few years later, bann trevelyan informed her that at 20 that she would marry and then be declared heir. she said ‘sure but i get to approve the husband’ and their father agreed, viewing it as an insignificant condition. he’d throw a handsome lordling at her and she’d accept. he never imagined she would honestly risk his ire. she has, since turning 20, refused every proposed suitor for five years, knowing that, eventually, her father will become so desperate to secure one of his children in the family affairs and as the head of household that he will be forced to install her as his heir while she is still unwed and, once this happens, she will not longer have any reason to bend to his authority, since she will legally share ownership in the family interests
