Some explanations for some of these
for the Jews who don't know, it's a thing (at least among some Jews) that you can have a second bar/bat mitzvah at 83 because 70 was what used to be considered a full lifetime
tasteful commercialization of Hanukkah means both not as excessive as Christmas (though we still deserve more than a blue end cap) and actually well done not this shit with blue-lighted wreaths and gingerbread Hanukkah houses and Hanukkah sweaters with English messages written using Hebrew letters as English letters which spell gibberish in Hebrew
Headcanoning characters played by Jewish actors as Jewish unless another religion's stated for them means that e.g. Quinn Fabray from Glee is still canonically Christian despite Dianna Agron being Jewish and Amy Farrah Fowler from BBT clearly had somewhat-Christian parents despite Mayim Bialik's heritage but you could be free to headcanon (unless they're mentioned as another religion in canon) as Jewish characters like Jack Hodgins from Bones or Flynn Carsen from The Librarians or DCEU!Billy Batson
in I think it was 2018 NBC made a really bad sitcom called Living Biblically that was supposedly based on The Year Of Living Biblically but all it shared other than the titular Bible quest was the main character being some sort of entertainment-y writer with a pregnant wife, I can see changing the names but they changed the motivation for the quest, removed the toddler he already had in the book and most gallingly made him freaking Christian when many instances from the book reliant on the guy's Judaism could have made good sitcom episodes

MBTI Types As Non-Traditional Hanukkah Songs
Figured everybody on Jumblr could use some introduction to the full potential range of diversity of Hanukkah songs (though I did include the classic of Light One Candle as it felt the best fit for that type) instead of always hearing the same few as imagine if Hanukkah even got 1/8 of the mainstream attention Christmas got and we could actually hear some of this shit on the radio (and imagine if that got Jewish artists who've already charted to make Hanukkah albums of their own)

DAE notice a lot of subtext in Encanto that (while not to distract from what it did for Colombians and their culture or to say that the Madrigals are Sephardi) could resonate with Jewish people; i mean in addition to just heavy emphasis on family and it putting the “door” in “l’dor va’dor”, you’ve got fleeing persecution to paradise, a candle that’s supposed to never go out, socially-advantageous matchmaking, feeling defined by your differences, elders trying to hide the wounds of generational trauma, and an ending where everyone comes together to almost quite literally repair the world.

The state of the world is increasingly depressing.
I'm disabled. I'm LGBTQ+. I'm from a Jewish family.
My family was there, as both soldiers fighting Nazis and also in the camps.....you know, being murdered for being born. They almost wiped out my entire family, only three members of a large family survived.
My heart hurts thinking that fascism still exists.

Need writing advice from “Jumblr” (Jewish Tumblr)
How can I write a good modern urban fantasy story with Jewish elements to the fantasy without being too tropey or sacrilegious?
No this isn’t inspired by what you think it is, it’s actually inspired by how during quarantine/lockdown/whatever-we-call-this, I watched both Black Panther and Coco and while they were both powerful movies (and yes, Black Panther counts as both fantasy and sci-fi), I felt I “missed something” in their impact because I myself wasn’t black or Hispanic. Therefore, if one can be written with Jewish themes that strongly in it, I want to write a “Jewish urban fantasy movie” that makes Jews like me feel how I imagine black kids felt watching Black Panther and Hispanic kids felt watching Coco. I just don’t know what the hell the plot should be?
