Checo Perez: Ramomex by Rebel'd Punk - One of the Mexican bands who pioneered punk music in the country, but Checo probably missed this release because he was too busy karting and moving to europe as a teen. It's never too late to have a proper angry punk phase, though.

Charles Leclerc: Ten Love Songs by Susanne Sundfør - Groundbreaking, life-altering pop music that pushes every boundary. This hits the sad songs craving and I think would interest him as a musician and burgeoning songwriter.

George Russell: Contra by Vampire Weekend - I just saw Vampire Weekend live following the release of the new album and at the show there was a guy a few feet ahead of me in the merch line who had the exact same energy as GR. The mix of prep vibes and world music would work into his taste while expanding his listening beyond coldplay.

Yuki Tsunoda: GLOW ON by Turnstile - 100% a selfish pick, I want to mosh with Yuki in the pit of a Turnstile pit.

Daniel Ricciardo: The Panhandlers by The Panhandlers - A country supergroup I return to time and again, wistful and nostalgic, making you yearn for West Texas no matter where in the world you are.

Alex Albon: Pelican West by Haircut 100 - Funky British jazz pop, perfect for dancing and vibing.

Depending on driver vibes you could have non-teammate alliances like with Cleo and Scott, lone wolf drivers like Pearl... oooh, what would a 5am Oscar be like?? There was also the secret thing going on between Grian and BigB, and you have reluctant team/soul mates like Grian with Scar.

oh there will be a Lot of non-teammate alliances in this hypothetical double life. i have so many thoughts actually on how some of the teams would work. if i get any of the dynamics wrong do know that i have not watched double life since it first aired

ferrari [55&16] - i think they'd be similar to a joel and etho dynamic (tho i think they'd have the same kind of history as desert duo). one is obsessed with the other, they both are Not Normal about each other, they both would absolutely try to kill each other. the base is made of wood (the car is shit) but hey at least it looks pretty and is honestly pretty practical (they get a few wins in that thing). they die together in lava (taken by circumstances out of their control)

haas [27&20] - very similar to impulse and bdubs. insane about eachother. would murder everyone else whilst living the suburban family life

Mind you this is just my opinion. I’ve given a lot of thought to helmuts decision to put nyck in the alpha tauri the way he did. the rb junior program is prolly the most brutal out the big 4 ((Ferrari, mclaren, rb and of course, merc)) and most of that comes down to man in charge. Helmut is old OLD school, very impulsive, minimal eye test, and u either get wid his program or u fuck off and die. Hes literally f1’s logan roy -1 eye. In a way nyck makes sense because its very 🤢🤢alpha sigma🤢🤢 helmut marko 🤢🤢type of why not headassery to throw an f1 seat at a man who was fast once without 0 commitment just vibes and verstappens name drop. HOWEVER. I think some of it was done to yuki’s benefit. Lemme explain. Yuki been TESTED in that alpha tauri bro, and when pierre, the alpha tauri of f1 drivers ����make of that what u will .. leaves, helmut is like oh okay. it is wack a doodle time. it is wack a doodle time!!!!! and he gives yuki this teammate who by all means could be fast and experienced but in theory, and turns out in practice, has no actual dawg inside. His dawg competition wid yuki is non existent. Helmut knows that, expects nothing else. The good side of markos absolutely deranged and outdated boy auction process that if he sees it in u that’s it. Ur his boy. He’ll get it done no matter what. Idk how but he’ll get it done. That’s the type of old white people power yuki can count on. That 2028 rb seat is branded and it’s for the boy that bites the most. Don’t get it twisted . Marko has never had a plan for the future that didn’t lead Yuki to it

VCARB isn't giving him a car that can consistently perform how he needs it to perform, especially when they're having him do the testing/researching. It doesn't look good to shareholders that your star driver is where he is, because shareholders don't care about anything other than the bottom line.

I have zero doubt that if he was given a spin in the RB20 he could out-pace Checo. But RBR re-signed Checo, for performance or sponsors, I won't get into it. Even if there are performance clauses in Checo's contract, they're not going to kick in until long after this season. By that time, it's too late for Daniel. ETA: Unless it's a clause that permits a swap to VCARB, but that would need to be this season, and that's highly unlikely with Daniel's record.

Unless something wild happens, and, to be fair, it could, the writing is all over the wall. Like it or not, they have Lawson and Hadjar in the wings. (Personally, I'm team Isack.) I feel like if it wasn't Honda-owned Yuki in the other seat, we'd have Daniel and Liam/Isack in there, but hands are tied.

Daniel was expected to come in, wipe the floor with Yuki, and lead the midfield. He isn't. I'm not saying that's fair or not and that the car could even do it, it doesn't matter. We know shareholders are meddling and we know what space is and isn't available. It's all business.

Personally, in my fantasy, Merc uses Daniel as a stand-in while Kimi gets a year or two in a Williams. But that's a pipe dream. I think Red Bull/Visa/CashApp/etc have him tied up with sponsor clauses and money to the point it's a Red Bull sponsored seat or nothing - and I guess if anything could give him a seat next year, it's also that. Maybe he'll just do PR/SIM, maybe he'll do some other form of racing, who knows?

My only concern is that Daniel is in a good place mentally and is okay with whatever situation he finds himself in. I think he understands this all has been a bonus round, and even if he's going out, he's going out swinging.

Unlike the "sources," I will openly say this is only my thoughts based on what actual people from the team have said and vibes. 😂

If all f1 contracts were to end tomorrow and you could build a new grid where money wasn’t an object and there are no constraints on which drivers could go to each team (alpha tauri isn’t junior Red Bull, teams with Ferrari engines don’t need a Ferrari driver etc), what would your grid look like?

I’m assuming we’re putting everyone in like, new regulation cars or smthn for the purpose of this bc the idea of putting George and Lew in the current redbull system depresses me but if it’s the only car that can win I’d do it. I’m also assuming that any F2 or “retired” drivers are magically prepared and Ready mentally to join F1.

Mercedes:

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Yes they’re the perfect line up, kiss my ass.

Redbull:

Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly. It’s their team now and it’s got more vibes than ever. Horner and Marko are not involved.

Ferrari:

Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. Dragging Seb bodily out of retirement to see him cut his hair and wear red again.

Alpine:

F1 2022 Re-watch: Round 3 - Australia 

So yeah re some previous rambly posts, I subbed to F1 TV because I was kind of tuned out for the bulk of the 2022 season and bc it ended up being Seb’s last season in F1, I wanted to re-watch all of them in full. bc Seb caught covid (😭) I’m starting from Australia!

Since I’m mainly doing this for the laughs I have no idea what I’m doing avwvguhrgug I’ll probably put a lap number before any sarcastic comment for context.

Anyway, onwards! (under a read more bc this will get chatty)

Starting with the F1 intro. noice. (quietly bops)

As I am a religious Channel 4 viewer I just got major whiplash from Will Buxton doing commentary esblhrlbi.

I actually really like Albert Park, it’s not a bad track, dare I say it quite underrated.

Jolyon Palmer?!?!? I forgot he worked for F1 these days.

I’m also really not used to Aus not being the tradional season opener. Does not pass the vibe check.

I’ve also very suddenly realised that while I’m re-watching all of Seb’s races from 2022 bc it was his last season, there is no guarantee I will see much of Seb. I did not think this through.

I have once again slipped back into the routine of constantly checking for Seb’s name on the leaderboard. (pls don’t ask me how I’m going to cope this year bc I probably won’t)

I’m also humming the jaws theme everytime one car gets close to another.

okay first off, i wouldnt move fe drivers who are done with f1 back there because fe has become a thing of its own and isn't a waiting bench for f1 anymore. Also no one who is currently in their first year of f2 or lower series.

That said if Sam Bird wants that Mercedes seat, it's his, man deserves it.

If he doesn't, Lewis and Mick at Mercedes just because I really think Mick is a better heir to Merc than he is to Ferrari and also because they both look hot in Merc clothes + Roscoe and Angie

Antonio is Italian and he deserves the Ferrari seat and to be their first driver. Imo he should have gotten the drive for 2021. If Antonio was at Ferrari I might even cheer for them again, but only if Fred Vasseur comes along with him and they fire clowno. The other Ferrari seat goes to Lance because he looks good in red and his dad would make sure that even if he's a bit of a second driver he doesn't get fucked over.

Checo can stay at Red Bull, his vibes are nice and I wouldn't mind him doing well there, he's joined by Daniil however because that man deserves justice and a good car, race winner and championship contender Daniil Kvyat,, feels good feels organic.

Seb stays at Aston Martin, the team adores him, he adores them and he'll get the Championship with them. Super License points aside, Jessica Hawkins for the second seat because I like her, also I'd instantly transfer Rocky there as well without added gardening leave.

Alpha Tauri keeps the current lineup because Pierre can lead the team to a really great future with Yuki still having time to learn before he has to support Pierre's and the Team's championship charge in a few years.

Mclaren is Valtteri and either Emma Kimiläinen or Alice Powell, because the team with their whole need to appeal to the Hip Youth™ need some actual adult energy because right now they're annoying me and i feel like there should be drivers who have mugs that have a 'don't talk to me before I've had my coffee' mug.

Daniel is at a resurgent Williams because they need someone with actual experience and maybe for once he could take a deep breath and stay there for a bit. Also George will stay at Williams.

Alpine changes back to Renault because that's sexier, Esteban stays there and gets Nicholas for company because I think they'd vibe and I like them.

Alfa gets Callum because the man deserves an f1 seat and maybe Sean Gelael because him Antonio and Pierre together in f1 is just something I'd really like to see.

Which leaves Haas with Nico Hülkenberg and Jamie Chadwick, theyd be great for the bants, I'd enjoy it immensely, case closed.

Watching this right before bed was not the right idea bc I somehow forgot how insane the closing laps were. ngl watching all the Ferrari in-fighting was STRESSFUL, and the race was actually alright before the Safety Car but WHEW THERE WAS SO MUCH GOING ON. Lewis v Perez v Charles was literally insane to watch, in the best way for how intense it was.
