What Percy Jackson cabins would the Autumn Troupe be in?

It seems too easy and kind of like a cop out answer, but I’d be lying if I said anything other than that Banri would obviously be a child of Zeus. I know Zeus, because of the vow, isn’t really supposed to have demi-god children and thus demi-gods in that cabin is exceptionally rare, but that also kind of fits Banri to me. While it doesn’t appear it at first, when his ego was getting the best of him and overriding all else, when he steps up and puts his all into it, Banri is a skilled leader. It doesn’t take him long to realize what’s needed, both in actions and in words, to boost morale or to push people in just the right ways. I think Banri, when it comes to the elements, also fits well with air – he can be a little flighty, drifting along life easily. He’s unnaturally talented without much work…however, that also leads to one of his main fatal flaws, a fatal flaw very common among Zeus’s demi-god children. The boy has a massive ego. He also falls in line with the other notable fatal flaw of Zeus’s demi-god children, which is that he has a very short temper.

I honestly would place Juza in the Apollo cabin. This was a really hard decision for me and I do think Juza was the one where it took me the longest to come up with a parent and placement for him. I really had to argue out all of the cabins and weigh the pros and cons of each. I vacillated between several ideas. There is, of course, the instinctive urge to also make Juza a child of Zeus. There is a charm to Juza and he does inspire people, but I don’t think he ever wants to be a leader. Besides, the idea was mostly only cute because I thought the idea of Juza and Banri being half-brothers would be hilarious. There was, of course, also the urge to make Juza a child of Ares. He’s crazy strong and talented enough to beat Banri in a street fight easily enough. He’s athletic. He can have a short temper and is easy to aggravate. However, I don’t think Juza actually takes any real joy in fighting. Juza being a child of Nike could make sense because I do think he’s competitive to an extent, but not to that much of an extent. Having him be a child of Hephaestus was also a strong possibility to me, but I don’t think that Juza has a passion for building things, though I think he has a secret talent for it. My mind kept bouncing back to Apollo’s cabin. Apollo has a lot of things that he’s the god of – the arts, of course, which is why Juza fit the cabin so well in my opinion, but also of truth, which I think also fits Juza well, as he’s a very honest person, sometimes too bluntly honest. They’re also very linked to the sun and, for some reason that I can’t explain, that just seems to suit Juza to me. Juza has a passion and love for the arts. It’s just as much a part of him as anything else. Theatre, the beauty of acting, stage makeup, learning all the ins and outs of stage movement, appreciating the beauty of the sets and lighting…it’s engrained in Juza. While he allowed other people’s opinions and perceptions of him to keep him from the stage for a while, it was impossible for him to stay away forever. He has more passion and creative drive than anyone else in the Troupe and that’s what most made him a child of Apollo, along with a weird headcanon I have of Juza being one of the most proficient in bandaging up and taking care of people’s little wounds, right alongside Omi.

Taichi is pure out a child of Dionysus to me! It’s a weird one, yeah, but it just makes sense and fits in my head. Again, it’s a cabin that doesn’t get a lot of focus within the canon of Percy Jackson, so a lot of this is based off my own knowledge about Dionysus, fandom beliefs about the cabin, and my own personal headcanons. Dionysus is best known for being the god of wine and revelry – he’s the party god and I do think Taichi would be a party boy. He loves people. He loves being around people. He wants to make people happy. He wants to entertain them and ensure they’re having a good time. We see that in how he strives for tons of friends and popularity and how he gets a little jealous of others that have that. Not as well known, but Dionysus is the actual god of theatre. And theatre is the other thing that we know means so much to Taichi. Theatre, getting to stand up on that stage, meant so much for Taichi that he was even willing to break his morals, at least for a time.

Omi was the one, other than Juza, who was really hard for me to place. I really went back and forth between several different options. In some ways, the possibilities of him being a child of Hephaestus really were strong for me. I associate Omi with fire out of the elements, I do think Omi is good at general handy-work, I think he’s creative, and I headcanon personally that he can fix motorcycles. But it never really sunk in properly and became the right cabin to me. I toyed around with also placing Omi into the Apollo cabin, because his more gentle and nurturing nature towards the others would fit that cabin. It just didn’t fit right either though…not completely. I think in the end, both because I didn’t want to duplicate cabins and because I saw enough to fit and fit well, I do place Omi neatly inside cabin four, making him a child of Demeter. I think Omi has a green thumb, so that was a personal headcanon that helped form the basis of it. On top of that, Demeter’s children are often associated with the earth and that’s the element that I think best fits Omi. Demeter, within mythology, let her emotions influence her strongly and, when faced with grief, let it affect her entire life and the lives of others. In a way, this also connects to Omi, who is an emotional man, something we see in how his own grief completely changed his life and led him to becoming someone entirely different from the past him who was ‘Wild Wolf Omi.’ Because Demeter’s children are children of the goddess of the harvest, they’re also shown to be the best chefs and how often do we get to hear about Omi’s yummy cooking within A3’s canon?

This is a really weird one, so hear me out here. It’s a little bit of a stretch and it’s not automatically going to make sense, but I promise to try to explain this one. To me, Sakyo is a child of Iris. Yeah, you heard that right – I think he’s in cabin fourteen, where the goddess of rainbow and messenger for the gods sends her children. We don’t really get to see a lot of what her children’s gifts are in the actual canon of Percy Jackson, so I’m just basing this off some common fandom beliefs when it comes to Iris’s children and my own personal headcanons. To me, children of Iris excel in passing on information. They’re largely peaceful and they love to give advice to others, since that’s how Iris herself is portrayed. To me, Sakyo really does kind of reflect that. Though he is involved with the Yakuza, he’s not shown to be someone who jumps into the physical violence part of that life. He tries very hard to keep his involvement with the Yakuza and his use to them as non-violent as he can. He can be brutal, yes, but it’s not the beat and kill type of brutality but rather the harsh debt collector – losing everything you own or dreamt of is the consequences of not paying – way of brutality. I do think that physical violence, while it might be something Sakyo might threaten, isn’t something he enjoys doing and something he only does when he’s forced to. We also see, within canon, that Sakyo can lecture endlessly on things that he’s passionate about. He’s actually a really good communicator that way and he’s quick to give advice. It doesn’t matter if he was asked for advice. Most of the time he wasn’t, but it’s just part of who he instinctively is to give it to others.

Random Yandere Headcanons: Yanderes dealing with jealousy

Hacker: 

He can be very petty or spiteful towards whoever made him jealous. No matter how little it may have been as long as they made him feel that way, they are going on the list of people to deal with. Considering he can do a lot of damage with having control over the web he can do a lot of damage to their reputation to the point everyone will hate them if he wanted.

Nekomaru Nidai: 

He will do things subconsciously not really realizing he’s jealous at all but still doing things that would seem petty but also end up working in his favor. Maybe he said offhandedly that it will spiral into something else to make that person look bad. 

Kiyoko Shimizu: 

When she gets jealous, she means business. As soon as the feeling starts is when she starts planning for their demise. Whether it means making them look bad or making it bad enough for them to leave or even in the extreme cases getting rid of them herself no matter the ending they aren't going to last long.

Tobio Kageyama: 

He is very spiteful towards whoever he is jealous at which in turn makes him look bad no matter how he tries to spin it. This makes him even more angry at the person putting them in even more danger.

Esdeath: 

She is a simple woman with simple needs and wants and what she wants is for them to be sent to the dungeon. 

Susanoo: 

He would see them more as a threat than someone to be jealous of although there is still a part of it. It's just that he would see them as a threat because of these emotions. Having said that since he deems them as a threat to his darling they will immediately be dealt with in a rather permanent way. 

Kazunari Miyoshi: 

At first all he knows is that he doesn't like when that person is around his darling so he will try to keep them away from that person for as long as possible but if that doesn't work, he will have to think of another way to make them go away.

I think Chikage would make a really funny Loid Forger.

Imagine him in charge of this small pink-haired telepath who lies about her age and reads his mind to finish a crossword puzzle.

Papa is a major liar indeed.

I'm convinced he would end up much like Twilight though. I mean, a different pink-haired person already captured his heart through grandsonly charm. As cold as he presents himself, Chikage is rather soft-hearted.

That won't stop him from being an absolute drill sergeant of a tutor towards his child though. After all, he can be very single-minded in regards to missions. At least, until the kid finds out that he is surprisingly easy to manipulate with a sad face. "One episode of 'Spy Wars'," he claims, not realizing that he has revealed his weakness.

At least he's also more than willing to break the rules, so while it would be nice if stellas could be earned naturally, a few adjusted tests and contrived situations to speed up the process are far from beneath him. Just as long as his new family isn't in danger.

However, the Forger-Utsuki's better have stomachs of steel. If he's still the only parent that cooks... *side eyes the spice cabinet*

I'm sure he's trained in non-spicy cooking, but whether he remembers the first time he cooks for someone besides himself is another question. He makes sure to keep milk stocked in the fridge now, after having to awkwardly comfort his new adoptee as they sobbed through the pain.

It's also funny to imagine Chikage shocked and fearing that he's losing his edge when an assass- office worker appears behind him without him noticing. And yet he somehow comes to the conclusion they are his best spousal candidate.

Let alone the concept of him living with a large, affectionate dog. Consider, the first part of episode 27 [BOND'S STRATEGY TO STAY ALIVE] with Chikage.

I just want him to suffer the same confusion that Loid does from applying normal person logic to his abnormal family.

An alternative I considered was Tenma, but that's my 4th-wall-breaker side kicking in. Though he does fit the fluster!

Homare Arisugawa headcanons

Homare has a ‘word of the day’ app on his phone. He’s a little addicted to it, honestly. He checks it first thing in the morning and I do mean he really checks it. He says the word aloud, rolls it around on the tongue, reads it through, memorizes the characters and all the various meanings of the word. His goal for the day is to find a way to use the word in either his conversations or, more ideally, to compose a poem containing that word.

Homare much prefers wearing his contacts. Part of it is slightly a vanity thing, but it’s also down to the fact that Homare can be a little absent-minded at times. He’s definitely guilty of ‘misplacing’ (or, to put it more honestly, losing) more than one set of glasses. Contacts are simply easier for Homare, as once he puts them in, he doesn’t really need to worry about them.

On top of his own written works, Homare is a huge reader. He’ll read anything. While he has a particular love for poetry, he reads fiction novels of all sorts of genres, plays, short story collections. He enjoys listening to audiobooks as well. He does aim to read a certain number of books every year and he doesn’t feel at all bad spending his money on books. Despite his great respect for all his fellow authors though, Homare doesn’t feel the need to handle his books, once he buys them, with kid gloves. A lot of his favourite novels are well-worn. The spines will be cracked, the pages will be dog-eared. He highlights passages that he loves in all his books in pink and, when he comes across a word that he doesn’t really understand or wants to look more into, he’ll both highlight it in yellow and underlines it in pen. He’ll leave little notes in the margins of the book, especially if it’s a book he’s reading alongside friends or for a book club. He even reads fanfiction, bookmarking his favourites, and he often leaves glowing, if a little bizarre, comments on fics that catch his attention.

Literature is not the only art form that Homare is entranced by though. He has a great respect for all areas of art. When it comes to visual arts, he’s more pulled towards abstract, modern, and street art, but he’s going to be able to appreciate all types and styles of art. He’s got a real eye for movement, form, and especially color when it’s used in artworks. He has a deep appreciation, as well, for music. While I do personally feel that Homare often a little bit more, in terms of big sweeping emotions, from instrumental pieces, he loves dissecting and really digging into the lyrics of songs that stick in his head.

Homare has a slightly romanticized view of human relationships. He’s a big believer in soulmates when it comes to romance. That notion that somewhere, there’s someone who will understand you so intensely, who will complete you, is something that is too beautiful for him to completely discount. He hopes to have that sort of relationship someday, to finally meet that person who will make romance feel easy and natural, who will click with him from the get-go, who will always understand his intentions and who he will just naturally get as a person. He dreams of a twin flame when it comes to friendships, where it will be that same thing. A kindred soul, someone with whom everything comes easily and where the big moments with them change his life continuously for the better. Of course, there’s the logical part of Homare that knows, on some level, that it’s not that easy, but by god does he want to believe it can be.

Homare has a good grip on most of his emotions. He’s self-aware, to a degree, of all his strengths and weaknesses, and understands himself pretty well. He can sort out what he’s feeling when big emotions come on him…and big they will be. Homare isn’t a man who does anything half-assed and that extends to allowing himself to fully feel everything that he feels. He’s learned, throughout the years, how to handle his emotions in ways that work for him. He has good control over his anger, which he boils down into cold logic (though his need to talk over his anger or frustration right away, using that same cold logic for both himself and the other person, can lead to even worse arguments with others and may, sometimes, completely ruin a relationship). He has great control over his joy, his nervousness, his embarrassment. He knows how to handle all those things well. What he doesn’t have the best handle on, and the emotion that he always struggles with, is sadness. He feels that one acutely but he also internalizes it to some degree. It’s hard for him to feel sad without somehow making himself take some of (most of) the blame for whatever’s causing the sadness. That emotion makes him distinctly uncomfortable and he feels the need to urgently fix the situation, to get everything back into being good, being happy.

While Homare does want those close relationships with other people, the friendships, the lovers, the close-knit family bonds, those are rarely the reason he does a lot of what he does. When he finds those things, he takes such careful care of them. He wants to make those people happy; he wants to make their lives bright and dazzling and satisfying. However, in some ways, those people are always going to come second to Homare. That sounds bad but let me explain – it’s more that I think that Homare never does things simply to make other people happy, to make him more palatable to them, or to give them joy. It’s something he likes to have happen, but his main focus and priority, the person it matters most to him to have be happy with his actions, is he himself. If the way he lives his life, if the things he chooses to do only make him happy, he can be content with that.

Homare enjoys the excitement and the thrill of nerves that come with first dates. They make him giddy and they give him lots of creative inspiration. That initial dating stage, where there’s butterflies in the stomach and you feel like you’re on a bit of a wild rollercoaster ride? It’s what Homare’s about when it comes to romance. The problem is when that initial bloom fades into the day to day of a committed relationship. Both him and his partner need to work together to keep the thrill of the romance alive, surprising each other often, making grand romantic gestures a continuing thing, to keep Homare fully content in the relationship.

One of the things that Homare really wants to try out is taking flower arranging classes. He’s taken basic lessons in the artform before, but it was just scratching the surface, absolute bare bones of the matter. He would love to take further classes, particularly more advanced ones, so that he can create beautiful art in yet another form, art that can please both the eyes, the nose, and the fingers all at the same time.

I personally don’t see Homare as someone who wants children in the future. He wants to live a life where he’s free to do things at his whims. He wants freedom, even when his life is being led beside someone else. It’s not that he dislikes children, though he finds it hard to really connect with them or know what to say to them, it’s that he dislikes the idea of being tied down to someone and to a specific place and lifestyle for at least eighteen years.
