Parallels

I was working on this post and saw these Willel parallels. I took a couple of screenshots, because I noticed something.

Here. Axel mentions schizofrenia as he touches his neck, like Will and Henry (more at the end of the post (*)

In psychiatry, the name Soteria stands for "an alternative low-drug milieu-therapeutic approach to acute schizophrenia".

Also, interesting tattoos, Axel.

Brain damaged. I've talked about this one. I think it's not a coincidence that we only get a close up of it during the police chase in 2x01, because later Axel wears this mask. Same mask at Melvald's, and it's also a parallel to how Brenner Senior looks when he comes back from Dimension X (in S3 Mike says that using too much power could damage El's brain)

I could be wrong, but that little tattoo on his cheekbone reminds me of the blood stain on Henry's cheeckbone. The one that keeps changing, from an X to a Y

And then there's the claw scratching Axel's skin. They're definitely hinting at something, here.

More parallels

In S3, Steve and Robin are the "twins", Dustin calls them Tweedledee and Tweedledum, characters in an English nursery rhyme

And in Through the looking glass, the sequel to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The man who fries Terry's brain is Ray Carroll.

In the TV show Ray is watching, a kid wakes up from a nightmare, hugs his dog and tells his father that he dreamt that his doctor was giving him his shot in his arm. Will being drugged in S2, yes, but the mention of the dog also makes me think about Chester and the vanishing scene.

In fact, El opens the door of Ray's house, like the Demogorgon opens the chain lock in S1.

Another interesting thing is that Ray Carroll did three tours in Vietnam as a MSC officer, so there's also a connection to Hopper (here). And speaking of drugs, Carroll and Alice in Wonderland,

in the 60s and 70s, Alice became a slang term for LSD

There are many references to rabbits and Alice in the show. Alice Creel says that their new house is like a dream. Her brother kills a rabbit, in S1 Jon says that his father forced him to shoot a rabbit. I could go on (and talk about the cigarettes), but here I want to focus on Hopper, Ray, El and Terry.

I doubt this is a random line. Look at the orange books behind Owens. In S4 Hopper says that Uncle Sam wanted him to fight in some jungle, and in Vietnam he was exposed to Agent Orange. Yeah, it's all connected to Will, El, Terry, Hopper and Joyce.

(*) There's so much in this shot. The fire and the car make me think about an accident (here, here and here). And Axel touching his neck while mentioning dream circles seems to hint at powers and timeloops

Later in the episode we actually see a burnt car and, imo, a hint at One. No. Ace-> Number One.

The character everyone gets wrong

Jäger, hands down. It's so rare to find someone who doesn't hit him with the "poor liddle innocent baby" beam and it drives me up the wall. He's about 40 and in the special forces ffs! Glaz often gets hit with the "uwu beam" too, but nowhere near as much as Jäger.

2. A compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom

Honestly, the realest and most compelling argument is: "cause I don't like it when x character tops/bottoms and I'm the one in control of the thing when I write or look for nsfw content of them".

If you want a more honest answer, I find that Kapkan topping is the most boring possible choice and it doesn't even feel like it fits him tbh, he has that "repressed and begging to be railed" vibe to him, imo (and if it's pairing him with Glaz, it's falling into the boring, heteronormative stereotype of "artist guy has to be more in touch with his feelings and therefore more in tune with his feminine side, ergo he bottoms", which is everywhere -not only in this fandom- and is as compelling as a glass of spoilt milk to me)

5. Worst discord server and why

Whenever the owner thinks they can decide who the people in there can follow on social media or not, or what interests are acceptable to like. Sadly, in my experience if some community or server describes itself as a safe place, it has about a 75% chance of being as described :(

Too fucking many 😂 Non-comprehensive list: ships I dislike (like Frost/Kapkan or Cav/Glaz, for example, and more), bottom Glaz, bottom Tachanka, top Kapkan, Nighthaven, Kali, Ace, a few people in the fandom (aside from blocking them), anything related to C-OD, and sometimes I temporarily might filter stuff related to a very popular piece of media I have no interest in so it doesn't clutter my feed.

16. You can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

I don't understand why so many people blindly follow HCs and fanon from popular artists and treat it like canon almost. Or draw characters without a face reveal in the same way over and over and over just because x popular artist did it like that. I find much more rewarding and interesting to make up my own (by myself or with friends!) and develop my own takes on characters and stuff 🤷

“Would you, maybe, wanna go to the movies on Saturday with me?” Sam awkwardly stood over her in the library as she sat with Gabriel in study hall, chatting about their plans for the night before Sam Winchester had made his way over. He’d watched her in class the past few months since he transferred over and his brother Dean was in one of her friend Gabriel’s sibling’s class. Sam was immediately introduced to the fact that while she was single, she was absolutely infatuated with Gabriel’s older brother Lucifer. He was just hoping that eventually she’d get over him and try to actually date someone her own age.

“The movies?” Her face lit up and Sam blushed just at the sight. Okay, you can do this. “Yeah,” he cleared his throat and shuffled the weight of his book bag on his shoulder. “Is there, uh, anything you wanted to see lately?”

She thought about it, looking at her blank notebook page before turning to Gabriel, who attempted to keep his face in check. He knew this wasn’t going to end well, but he figured he’d at least let the kid try. “Did you wanna go see anything this weekend? We’d have to ask Michael if you can go, too.” Gabe bit his lip, trying so hard not to tell her that Sam is asking for a date with just her and nobody else. Before he could answer, she chimed, “Oh! Michael should think it’s okay, cause you aced that math test, and cause then you can ask Kali to come and we can all go!” Making eye contact with Sam, Gabe gave him the best I’m Sorry, She Doesn’t Get It face he could without her noticing. 

Gabriel, taking her hand gently, still tried his best, “Why don’t you and Sam here,” he nodded his head in the boy’s direction, “Go and hang out? Besides, you’re sleeping at my place tonight anyway, right? You can tell your folks you made a new friend and you’re gonna go see a movie on Saturday!” She stared at him, having barely looked at Sam this whole time before actually moving her entire body in his direction and looking him over with a blank expression. All she could think was, What if Gabe gets bored and wants to hang out? What if Lucifer needs something? Quietly, she nodded, almost reluctantly, before smiling a little at Sam, “Sure, we can go out that day. My parents just have to talk to your parents.”

Sam almost punched the air before registering completely what she said. “My parents?” “Well, yeah.” She shrugged, not understanding the problem, clearly. “They just have to meet up with either your mom or your dad before we hang out or talk on the phone if they’re too busy to meet. Just so I don’t, like, get kidnapped.” She laughed and Sam gave a weak laugh in response. “S-Sure.” He cleared his throat again. “I can do that.” 

Once he got home, he immediately went to Dean’s room, knocking frantically to where Dean thought someone was getting murdered. “Hey! What happened!” “I need your help!” Sam stuttered, almost hating that he had to even ask Dean for help with girls. “I asked a girl out and- well, her parents have to talk to Dad before we can go to the movies.”

Dean stared for a moment, processing what was happening. Sammy, little nerdy, weird Sammy, asked a girl out? He couldn’t be more proud! “Well, good for you, Sammy! So here’s what you do–” “Dean! Are you listening to me? Dad’s not even in town!”

“Oh. Right. So. Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll just tell her parents Dad’s out of town, and then they can talk to me and I’ll drive you guys to the movies, what do you say?” “You’d do that?” “Of course. You think I wouldn’t miss my baby brother’s first date?”

That being said, on Saturday after speaking to her parents and meeting up just for extra safety precautions, Sam and her were finally on their way to the mall to see the movie they’d agreed on. Dean offered to chaperone, but was quickly shooed away by Sam as they got to the mall entrance. For once, it finally felt like something good was happening in Sam’s life. He was in a good school, he was making some form of friends, he was on a date with a pretty girl–

Standing at the movie theater entrance with his crush, Gabriel ran up to Sam’s date to give her a hug and Sam Winchester thought he was gonna die on the spot. It wasn’t just that it was Gabriel and his date Kali, it was the fact that somehow, of all the people, Lucifer Shurley also stood a few feet away as Sam watched his date rush over to Lucifer to give him a hug, only to reject her because she was being too loud and clingy. It felt like his heart fell into his stomach. The whole time it was, “Lucifer, share popcorn with me!” or, “Lucifer, hold my hand, I don’t wanna lose you!” As Sam dejectedly followed the four of them around the movie theater for snacks and looking at posters before the movie started.

This absolutely sucked, and as miserable as he was, Sam couldn’t help notice the way she looked at Lucifer, or platonically held Gabriel’s hand as Kali lightly glared at her for even touching him. It wasn’t just third wheeling, it was like fifth wheeling. He almost wished Dean would’ve chaperoned despite his insistence that they were fine to be by themselves. The rumors were true, she was obsessed with the blond haired Shurley and Sam felt absolutely crushed by this realization. He couldn’t tell what was worse, her complete naivete that this was a romantic date and not a group social gathering, or the fact Lucifer was so.. Dismissive of her affections. As the movie went on, and as they went to get food afterwards, it felt like Sam couldn’t have felt lonelier; and yet Gabriel was there inviting him to the Shurley house to hang out more, and she was there holding Sam’s hand to encourage him to not let the fun end just yet.

This was going to be a very long school year for Sam Winchester, but hopefully a better one.

Saya sempat bercerita ke salah satu rekan dokter umum bahwa saya menonton One Piece seringkali dengan kecepatan 1.25 atau 1.5 kali. Lalu ia menjawab bahwa ia selalu menonton anime dengan kecepatan normal, karena ingin menikmati setiap suasana, termasuk latar musik yang mendampingi setiap adegan. Seusai arc Zou, saya jadi terpikir, "Apa yang saja kejar?" Saya sudah sampai sejauh ini. Rasanya saya harus melambatkan diri sejenak dan mulai menikmati setiap perjalanan Sang Raja Bajak Laut di masa mendatang. Tidak perlu terburu-buru, karena toh sudah sekitar 800 episode yang terlewati.

Berangkat dari situ, saya memulai arc Wano dengan kecepatan normal. Satu hal yang mencolok ialah bahwa Wano ini "Jepang banget"! Setelah melihat Alabasta/Arabasta yang bernuansa Timur Tengah (well, they called it ARABasta for a reason, LOL), Water 7 yang penuh sungai seperti Venice, Dressrossa yang terinspirasi dari Spanyol (eh, tapi Colosseum adanya di Italy ya?), Whole Cake Island yang bagaikan dunia Alice in Wonderland, akhirnya Oda menampilkan negaranya sendiri sebagai latar cerita. Mulai dari musiknya, pakaian serba kimono, arsitektur bangunannya, pohon Sakura, keberadaan samurai, Geisha, serta masih banyak lagi.

Pada cerita-cerita awal, saya sangat menyukai bagaimana kru Strawhat yang sudah ke Wano duluan, menyamar menjadi warga lokal dengan perannya masing-masing. Pertama, Usopp sebagai Usohachi si penjual minyak katak. Sangat-sangat sesuai dengan kemampuan alamiah Usopp yaitu berbohong! Franky menjadi Franosuke yang bekerja sebagai tukang kayu yang sangat kuat (tentu saja, dia kan cyborg!) demi mendapatkan cetak biru kediaman Kaido dari bosnya yang dulu membuatnya. Eh, ternyata cetak biru itu sudah berpindah-pindah tangan berkali-kali sampai akhirnya Franky menyerah hahaha (ini adegannya SUPERRRR-lucu! Karena di setiap orang, mereka pasti bilang "Oh, cetak birunya ada di X" "Hah? Siapa pula X?" dan seterusnya.) Kemudian, Zoro menjadi Zorojuro, sang ronin alias samurai yang berkelana. Sudah diberi pesan untuk tidak membuat kehebohan sebelum anggota Mugiwara lengkap, eh dia malah jadi buronan karena berada di waktu dan tempat yang salah. Sudah pasrah ditahan dan menjalani hukuman, dia malah menebas hakim dan petugas lainnya (ya, karena memang hakimnya yang bersalah sih).Jadilah dia semakin terkenal sebagai buronan. Selanjutnya ada Robin sebagai Orobi yang menjadi geisha. Hey, bisa-bisanya Robin yang kaku itu disuruh menari... Tapi dia akting-nya bagus sih. Jadinya bisa mendekat ke Orochi dan mendapatkan informasi yang cukup banyak (walaupun Robin merasa masih masih kurang banyak).

Ngomong-ngomong soal Orochi, sepertinya dia adalah salah satu villain yang paling saya benci di One Piece. Selain rupanya yang buruk dan suaranya yang menyebalkan, yang paling penting adalah dia tidak tahu diri! Walaupun sebetulnya saya paham kenapa Orochi bisa bersikap seperti itu. Hampir mirip dengan kisah Doflamingo yang disiksa warga karena terlahir sebagai Kaum Naga Langit dan Ace yang dicemooh karena terlahir sebagai anak Gol D Roger, yang mana mereka berdua menderita padahal mereka hanya anak-anak yang tidak berdosa (ya, Doffy agak berdosa sedikit sih karena sudah angkuh sedari kecil). Orochi juga begitu, karena klan Kurozumi yang mengalir di darahnya, warga juga berusaha membunuhnya, padahal yang bersalah adalah kakekknya. Wajar kalau ia punya dendam kesumat dengan klan Kozuki. Tapi yang saya kesal adalah, bahkan setelah diperlakukan dengan baik oleh Daimyo Yasui, Daimyo Oden, dan Shogun Sukiyaki, dia hanya memanfaatkan kebaikan mereka dan justru menjebak Sukiyaki di akhir. Terlebih lagi Orochi ini gila perempuan, yang membuat kekesalan saya bertambah sekian persen hahaha. Adegan sewaktu Komurasaki 'dibunuh' Kyoshiro pun cukup membuat puas, karena setidaknya Orochi kehilangan "kekasihnya" (padahal dia sendiri yang mau makan Komurasaki saat berubah menjadi naga berkepala tiga).

Setelah 'kematian' Komurasaki, saya merasa ada yang janggal, karena dia masih hidup dan seolah tidak ada luka sama sekali. Masih bisa berlari sambil membawa Otoko, kemudian dikejar Killer dan diselamatkan Zoro. Saya juga di awal merasa bahwa Komurasaki ini tampaknya tokoh yang penting dalam jalan cerita ya. Dan benar saja dugaan saya, bahwa ia adalah Kozuki Kiyori, adik dari Momonosuke. Setelah diselamatkan Zoro, adegan lucu lainnya terjadi, yaitu ketika Brook mendatangi rumah yang mereka (dan Otoko) singgahi. Pemandangan yang Brook dapatkan seolah keluarga kecil bahagia, karena mereka tidur bertiga dengan mesra. Bahkan mata dan lidah Brook sampai keluar saking kagetnya, walaupun dia tidak punya mata dan lidah, yo-ho-ho-ho.

Kru Mugiwara yang menyusul setelah dari Whole Cake Island juga punya peran masing-masing dan membaur menjadi warga Wano. Brook memakai pakaian gembel dan compang-camping, tugasnya menakut-nakuti orang lain sebagai hantu kelaparan hahahahaha. Nami sebagai Onami, kunoichi atau ninja wanita bersamaan dengan Shinobu yang bertugas menjadi mata-mata. Sanji sebagai Sangoro si penjual soba yang niat awalnya adalah menarik para samurai untuk makan di kedainya dan mendapatkan informasi. Eh, yang mengantre panjang malah hampir semuanya perempuan. Karena kedainya terlalu ramai, seperti biasa, ada warga lokal yang sirik. Mereka (bawahan ketua Yakuza Kyoshiro) mengajak ribut. Sanji tentu tidak tinggal diam dan melawan mereka. Mereka mengadu ke Tobi Roppo, kemudian datanglah Page One dan X-Drake yang menjadi dinosaurus (kata Sanji: Mengapa aku hanya terkenal di kalangan dinosaurus?) Di sinilah Sanji untuk pertama kalinya memakai Raid Suit miliki Germa 66! KYAAAA! Ini terlalu keren untuk dilewatkan. Bahkan Law sampai fanboy-ing karena dia berasal dari North Blue (katanya sih, cerita antara Sora Sang Pejuang Laut vs Germa 66 itu sangat terkenal di North Blue) dan sangat hafal dengan jenis-jenis penjahat di Germa 66. Sanji pun dengan mudah mengalahkan Page One sebagai stealth black (walaupun Sanji menyebut dirinya Soba Mask), yang kemudian ia manfaatkan untuk mengintip di tempat pemandian. Tidak belajar dari kesalahan, hidungnya kembali mimisan dan penyamarannya ketahuan (mungkin ia lupa pernah transfusi darah gara-gara kebanyakan berinteraksi dengan wanita).

Cerita inti dari Wano Arc ini adalah para samurai Akazaya Nine yang mau membalaskan dendam atas nama Kozuki Oden dan melaksanakan amanah terakhir dari Oden, yaitu untuk membuka negara Wano ke dunia luar. Saya pun mendapat dua tokoh favorit baru, yaitu Kozuki Oden dan Kinemon! Setelah saya telusuri, rupanya alasan saya memfavoritkan seorang tokoh memiliki pola yang sama, sebagaimana Kyros di arc Dressrossa. Pertama, perkembangan karakter mereka ditunjukkan jelas di cerita. Kyros yang tadinya preman pembunuh, kemudian menjadi gladiator terkuat di Corrida Colosseum. Yang tadinya dibenci masyarakat, selanjutnya menjadi idola baru. Terlebih setelah ia diangkat menjadi kepala prajurit kerajaan. Nah, kurang lebih Oden dan Kinemon juga begitu. Oden ini sejak kecil sudah mengoleksi catatan kriminal, mulai dari berjudi, menghajar orang lain, mabuk-mabukan, sampai menculik perempuan-perempuan (yang memilih tetap bersama Oden padahal mereka dibebaskan pergi kapan pun), dan lain-lain. Shogun Sukiyaki, ayahnya pun menyerah dan mau mencoretnya dari kartu keluarga. Oden tidak peduli, kemudian pergi ke Kuri dan menantang Ashura Doji, ketua preman di Kuri yang notabene adalah wilayah tanpa hukum. Ashura dan setiap orang di Kuri berhasil dikalahkan. Oden lanjut menjadi pemimpin di Kuri dan membangun Kuri bersama dengan warga setempat. Dari situlah Oden yang tadinya berandalan tidak berguna, justru diangkat menjadi Daimyo yang sangat dibanggakan masyarakatnya. Bagian terkeren adalah sewaktu Akazaya Nine arak-arakan di ibukota Bunga sambil membawa tandu kerajaan yang di dalamnya ada Oden!

Kesamaan kedua, kisah cinta mereka yang lucu nan menggemaskan juga diceritakan dengan baik (hehe). Oden yang berhasil memajukan Kuri, merasa masih belum puas dengan hidupnya. "Ini terlalu sempit." Oden sangat ingin pergi keluar pulau, tapi tidak punya kemampuan berlayar yang mumpuni, sehingga gagal berkali-kali. Kedatangan Shirohige pun membuka jalan untuknya berlayar keluar dari Wano (yang mana merupakan 'dosa' kalau meninggalkan negeri) sekaligus bertemu jodohnya, Toki. Bagian favorit saya tentu ketika Oden dan Toki mengobrol di atas kapal setelah melewati sekian banyak perjalanan. Oden meminta maaf karena dalam waktu dekat ini mereka belum akan ke Wano (tempat yang ingin didatangi Toki). Toki mengatakan tidak masalah, karena selama ia bersama Oden, ia merasa nyaman (mohon maaf, ini kita kebagian nyengir doang). Oden juga sepertinya merasakan hal yang sama, tapi masih bingung akan perasaan itu. Adegan itu disaksikan oleh Marco, Jozu, dan Vista yang masih imut-imut sambil pipinya memerah. Selanjutnya, adegan menggemaskan itu hampir dirusak oleh Nekomamushi yang mau menghampiri Oden (untungnya ditahan mereka bertiga).

Setelah 4 tahun berlayar bersama Shirohige dan sekian bulan bersama Roger, Oden kembali ke Wano untuk mengantarkan Toki yang tidak sehat. Para Akazaya menyambut bahagia dan merasa Oden tidak berubah sama sekali. Tiba-tiba Oden bilang, "Ini istri dan anak-anakku" dan seketika mereka terkejut "Ada yang berubah!" hahaha. Selama Oden pergi, Toki betul-betul menjadi istri yang sangat baik sih. Dia membaur dengan warga dan meredam kekesalan warga terhadap 'keegoisan' Oden yang meninggalkan Wano. Bahkan dia tidak mau membuat Oden khawatir dengan menyembunyikan luka di kakinya akibat melindungi Momonosuke dari tembakan panah. Favorit saya adalah ketika Oden dipenjara dan menanyakan, "Kau tidak sedih? Aku kan mau dihukum mati." Toki dengan tenang menjawab, "Aku tahu kau tidak akan mati." Di sisi lain, sedih juga sih. Karena memang Oden tidak akan mati semudah itu. Ketika kastil di Kuri dibakar, Toki pun membuat keputusan yang sangat krusial, yaitu mengirimkan Momonosuke, Kinemon, Kanjuro, dan Raizo ke masa depan. Di akhir hayatnya, ia juga menyampaikan kata-kaya terakhirnya bahwa 'fajar akan datang dan 20 tahun lagi akan muncul 9 bayangan'.

Hal-hal lain yang membuat saya sangat menyukai Oden adalah, dia sangat apa-adanya. Melakukan sesuatu sesuka hatinya, tidak peduli dia anak shogun, tapi justru memunculkan orang-orang yang kagum padanya dan mengikutinya secara sukarela (bahkan dia selalu bingung kenapa mereka tiba-tiba mengikuti di belakangnya). Oden juga tidak gila jabatan dan betul-betul mengikuti nalurinya untuk berpetualang, sehingga dia memanfaatkan momentum kedatangan kapal Shirohige dengan baik. Karena kekuatan dan kemampuannya membaca Poneglyph, bahkan Raja Bajak Laut Roger 'meminjam'-nya sendiri ke Shirohige. Oden juga sangat kuat dan tidak takut apa pun. Saya yakin dia sebetulnya mampu mengalahkan Kaido (Kaido sendiri mengatakan kalau belum ada yang bisa melukainya sebagaimana Oden), tapi gara-gara si nenek Kurozumi pemakan Mane Mane No Mi yang menyamar jadi Momonosuke, Oden jadi terdistraksi dan kalah. Dan tentu saja momen paling epik adalah "Oden bukanlah Oden kalau tidak direbus!" literally. Direbus di air sangat mendidih selama 1 jam sambil mengangkat papan kayu ditambah 9 orang di atasnya (sebetulnya yang 2 setengah hewan sih). Itu pun masih belum mati, walaupun fisiknya sudah melemah sehingga ia tidak bisa lagi menahan satu peluru yang ditembakkan oleh Kaido (padahal sebelumnya, terkena ledakan granat saja tidak apa-apa). Beruntung ada Shinobu yang mengungkapkan alasan dibalik tarian setengah telanjang Oden setiap pekan di Ibukota Bunga, sehingga warga yang tadinya menyumpahi, kini ikut menyesal dan sedih atas kematian Oden yang sangat terhormat.

Sekarang saya akan bicara soal Kin-Sama <3 Dia awalnya merupakan pengangguran yang suka mencuri, berandalan yang seolah tidak punya masa depan. Suatu ketika ia mencuri anak babi putih dari seseorang (yang menculiknya dari induknya) dan berencana menjualnya di ibukota (karena katanya mahal). Eh, ternya sang induk yang sudah dianggap dewa hutan murka dan merusak kota. Di sinilah momen pertemuannya dengan Oden yang justru take the blame atas kelakuan Kinemon. Oden menunjukkan anak babi ke induknya, sehingga orang-orang mengira bahwa Oden adalah pelakunya. Kemudian karena si induk babi sudah menelan Tsuru--teman Kinemon sejak kecil yang selalu membantu Kinemon, termasuk mengganti uang/barang yang dicuri Kinemon--Kinemon berusaha melawannya. Tentu saja kalah. Oden pun mengambil alih dan dengan mudahnya membelah si dewa hutan menjadi dua bagian. Seketika orang-orang yang sudah ditelannya berhamburan keluar, yang katanya bisa mencapai sekampung! Tsuru juga keluar dan kemudian berpelukan dengan Kin. Di situlah mungkin mereka sadar kalau mereka saling jatuh cinta, hahaha. Dan sejak itu juga, Kinemon (dan Denjiro) resmi mendeklarasikan dirinya sebagai pengikut Oden.

Saya sudah menyukai Kinemon sejak awal kemunculannya di Punk Hazard. Kinemon ini samurai yang kuat. Badannya saja (tanpa kepala dan kaki), bisa mengimbangi Brook dalam pertarungan pedang. Kakinya bisa berbicara (walaupun yang berbicara adalah kentutnya HAHAHA). Kepalanya saat itu dipotong menjadi 6 bagian dan disusun kembali oleh Sanji (oleh Nami, Franky, dan Chopper juga, walaupun asal-asalan). Kinemon ini karakternya cukup khas. Awalnya terlihat patriarki sekali karena ia tidak senang saat Nami memarahinya dan menganggap bahwa wanita harus berjalan 3 langkah di belakang pria (maklum, dia datang dari 20 tahun lalu). Walaupun begitu, dia ternyata mesum juga wkwkwk. Dia juga cenderung tidak menunjukkan ekspresi sedihnya terutama menangis, karena anggapan bahwa samurai tidak boleh menangis (setiap menangis pasti bilangnya "Aku tidak menangis!") Begitu pula kalau ada yang sakit, ia akan menyebutnya sebagai 'gatal'. Tapi yang keren di Punk Hazard adalah sewaktu pedangnya bisa menebas slime buatan Caesar Clown. Tak heran kalau ia dijuluki si 'Rubah Api'. Bagian terkeren adalah saat ia bersama Zoro menebas pintu gerbang Punk Hazard yang sangat tebal sampai terbuka (ini adalah momen saya menyatakan sebagai fans Kin-Sama!)

Di Dressrossa, memang kehebatan Kinemon tidak banyak terlihat, karena memang tujuannya ke situ hanyalah menyelamatkan Kanjuro. Tapi yang lucu adalah ketika ia menyamar menjadi Doflamingo (dengan kekuatan buah iblisnya) dan malah diserang oleh pasukan anti-Doflamingo hahaha. Selebihnya, ia dan Kanjuro ikut berperan dalam menahan laju sangkar burung buatan Doffy yang semakin menyempit.

Sewaktu di Zou, bagian terbaik adalah ketika Kinemon dan Kanjuro datang di saat Nekomamushi dan Inuarashi hampir berkelahi. Dengan penuh percaya diri, Kinemon mengatakan kalau ia sedang mencari ninja bernama Raizo dan dirinya adalah Kinemon, seorang pelayan Klan Kozuki. Neko dan Inu serta seluruh warga Zou langsung terduduk. "Raizo-dono.......aman." Saya yang alhamdulillah belum terkena spoiler pun langsung terkejut, sama terkejutnya seperti kru Mugiwara. Saya kira Raizo betul-betul tidak ada di Zou, sehingga seluruh warga suku Mink bersikeras menyangkal, walaupun nyawa mereka dipertaruhkan di tangan Jack dan kawan-kawan. Ternyata, mereka tidak akan menukar teman mereka demi apa pun. Setelahnya, Kinemon menunjukkan tato di punggungnya: lambang Klan Kozuki. Di sinilah mulai diperjelas tentang siapa sebenarnya Kinemon, Momonosuke, dan Kanjuro (walaupun belum jelas-jelas amat sih hehe).

Sejak kepergian Oden, Kinemon yang merupakan firstman dari Oden bertindak selayaknya pemimpin bagi Akazaya Nine. Dia juga perencana yang jenius, karena hanya dengan membuat gambar sederhana, para samurai pengikut Oden langsung paham maksudnya. Yah, walaupun, pada akhirnya, seperti yang kita ketahui bersama bahwa ada seorang pengkhianat (penyusup, lebih tepatnya) yang membuat setiap langkah yang diambil Oden maupun Kinemon langsung diketahui oleh Orochi/Kaido dan langsung diantisipasi. Ialah Kurozumi Kanjuro, yang sudah saya ketahui duluan karena sudah terkena spoiler gara-gara suatu ketika mengetik "kanjuro" di kolom pencarian YouTube, eh langsung keluar "kanjuro betrayal". Saya justru penasaran, bagaimana akhirnya penyamaran Kanjuro terbongkar. Ternyata, ia mengaku sendiri saat di kapal kecil berisi samurai Akazaya yang menuju ke Onigashima. Yang menyebalkan adalah, selama ini yang kita ketahui, gambar Kanjuro jelek dan tidak terlalu fungsional. Hewan-hewan yang digambarnya sangat lemah dan mudah pudar saat terkena air. Ternyata, gambar aslinya bagus, kuat, dan tahan air. Ia bahkan bisa membuat gambar dirinya sendiri yang seolah menjadi tiruan saat tubuh aslinya ada di tempat lain (mirip dengan buatan Doflamingo). Kanjuro pun sudah siap mati saat direbus bersama dengan Oden dan anggota Akazaya lainnya.

Akan tetapi, yang lebih keren dibanding 'pengkhianatan' Kanjuro adalah 'pengkhianatan' Kyoshiro alias Denjiro. Selama 20 tahun ia memperoleh kepercayaan Orochi sekaligus menjaga Hyori menggantikan Kawamatsu. Bagian paling epic adalah saat Kyoshiro tiba-tiba datang di tengah pertarungan melawan Bajak Laut Hyakuju. Anak buah Kaido dan Kanjuro langsung merasa senang dan aman karena ada bala bantuan datang. "Sepertinya kalian kesulitan. Apakah kalian butuh bantuanku?" kemudian Kyoshiro malah menebas kapal Hyakuju dan seketika semua orang shock. Kemunculan Denjiro ini semacam relief dari pengkhianatan Kanjuro. Denjiro pun memuji Kinemon atas kepintarannya dalam mengelabui musuh, termasuk Kanjuro dan Orochi. Padahal, Denjiro dan para samurai salah paham dengan instruksi baru yang diberikan oleh Yasui, sehingga mereka justru datang di saat yang tepat.

Keberangkatan ke Onigashima pun memunculkan salah satu peak moment dari arc Wano, yaitu kemunculan Jimbei di saat krusial! Hanya seorang diri, menggunakan fishmen karate, bisa-bisanya dia menghancurkan satu kapal milik Hyakuju. Jimbei pun menyatakan bergabung dengan Kru Topi Jerami. Law dan Kid terkejut karena bisa-bisanya mantan Shichibukai bergabung dengan mereka. Nah, Jimbei ini adalah kru SHP favorit saya nomor 2, setelah Robin. Sosok yang sangat dewasa dan satu-satunya yang 'normal', mungkin juga yang paling bijaksana. Mungkin karena sebelumnya ia sendiri adalah kapten Bajak Laut Matahari, sehingga paham betul rasanya ada di posisi Luffy. Contohnya sewaktu Luffy meratapi kepergian Ace, Jimbei yang menyadarkan Luffy untuk fokus dengan apa yang masih ia miliki (saya selalu nangis kalau lihat video ini, apalagi waktu Luffy menghitung sambil mengingat nakama-nya). Jimbei juga sangat tenang, bahkan Robin sampai berkomentar "Kau dewasa sekali, oyabu-san," dan dijawab, "Mereka semua sangat bersemangat. Perlu ada orang yang tenang untuk memantau situasi." Meskipun begitu, Jimbei mungkin agak culture shock dengan nakama barunya. Luffy yang memiliki single brain cell malah sibuk mau masuk Onigashima duluan karena tidak mau keduluan Kid. Jimbei sudah berniat menghentikan, tapi melihat Zoro yang bilang akan menghentikan Luffy, Jimbei mengurungkan niatnya dan menyerahkannya kepada Zoro. Para kru lain pun "marah" karena Luffy hanya akan memperburuk suasana dan Zoro hanya akan tersesat, hahaha. Jimbei hanya bisa terdiam dan mungkin merenungi, "Oh, begitu ya... Maaf, saya anak baru."

Kembali lagi ke Kinemon (hehe). Walaupun buah iblisnya agak nyeleneh dan sepertinya tidak terlalu fungsional untuk pertarungan, tapi ada satu jurus yang unik bernama "Pabrik Pakaian Kin". Jadi sebelum masuk Onigashima, semua pakaian orang yang melewati "cermin" ini akan berubah menjadi pakaian ala bajak laut Kaido, sebagai penyamaran.Penyamaran ini cukup berhasil di awal, sebelum akhirnya Luffy, Gizao, dan Marimo mulai mengacau dalam diskotek Onigashima. Sebelum masuk juga, Kinemon memerintahkan para samurai untuk menenggelamkan kapal mereka. Pilihannya hanya dua: menang atau mati. 'Kabur' tidak ada dalam pilihan mereka. Saya belum tahu pasti apakah Kinemon akan bertahan atau tidak, karena sekali lagi, saat searching di YouTube, baru mengetik "kinemon" saja sudah ada suggestion "kinemon death". Bagaimana pun nantinya, saya pasti akan nangis sih kalau dia mati. Ya sudah, mari kita nikmati saja alurnya. Nanti lagi menulisnya kalau semua sudah selesai.

All the signs that make Kali sus

Before I talk about the important discrepancies between Terry’s flashbacks and El’s memory in 4x07 (nothing is like it seems in this show) I need to talk about Kali again (more here)

She was in Terry’s flashbacks. That’s why El looked for her in the first place. So, after S4 and the Henry reveal, I analyzed 2x07 again and looked for any clue about her role. What I found makes her and Terry’s flashbacks even more sus.

The first time we see Kali, she uses her powers to escape from the police. Before she uses them tho, we see the tattoo on Axel’s forehead. Brain Damaged. In S3, Mike is worried that using too much power, might cause El brain damage. Definitely not a good sign.

Even before El meets Kali: ICU, I see you... Someone’s watching her (this one was found by givehimthemedicine)

Here she’s listening to Hopper’s voice, but Kali wakes her up. And it’s definitely not like when Mike can reach Will in S2. It is not reassuring. Kali grabs El and scares her. Another bad sign.

It gets even more interesting. Same scene, when Kali introduces El to her friends. Behind them: So long and thanks, a famous line of Douglas Adams’ series The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galazy, which was first published in 1979. And what looks like a blood stained door. Imo, a reference to the massacre at the lab. Strange tho. Kali shouldn’t be connected to the massacre. She had already escaped. But look at her, her smirk... 

This is one of my favorite. The word PAWN behing them. They literally told us.

A big face= someone staring at (spying?) them. It reminds me of the I’m watching you poster at Murray’s house. Also, the words FORGOT, SOS, GO AWAY!

RUTH. The Nina Project was supposed to help El regain her powers, so it shouldn’t exist in 1984. Why they’re connecting it to Kali then? Maybe because that place already existed and there are even bigger secrets about it. 

(THE FIRST SHADOW SPOILERS)

In fact, in the prequel, we learn that Brenner was already conducting experiments in Nevada in the 50s. And because of one of those experiments, Henry Creel vanished for 12 hours and wound up in Dimension X. 

The Eye. One is watching El.

The word NO. Or maybe, it’s Number. There’s also the word Ace = 1. So, Number 1.

Then, El hears Mike in the void, screaming It’s a trap! And I don’t think this is  just about the soldiers in the tunnels. I think it’s another hint.

And after El sees Will (interesting that they didn’t show him), we see the words ONE, DOSE and ROSE.

There is more to analyze, like references to Assassin’s Creed or The Invisibles, like Barbelith (more here/The First Shadow Spoilers)

But for now I just wanted to point out how the writers went out of their way to tell us that El shouldn’t be there. Yeah. SOS and GO AWAY!
