I usually don't post wips so openly like this but I have an idea.

What if canon Ace, after marineford, is isekaied to an old-fashioned, coloniser England? He wakes up confused like what the God-fuck happened and it just so happens that he ends up in a noblefamily's courtyard where he meets their youngest son who's his age who reminds him a bit too much of someone very familiar. The guy's name is Sabo too.

As of writing this, the fic is still a nebulous mess in my head but here's what I have.

Ace's immediately interested. The moment he went up to the study to ask for help, everyone just screams how indecent he is because he's shirtless and very attractive. The women blush, which Ace, being a greasy player to some extent, doesn't mind, but then there's Sabo who blushes in the same way. The neurons started activating in his mind. Ace never did it with guys too often but hey, he nearly died! He'll figure it out! Let's Fucking Go!

Sabo's also interested in this sense, "H-how rude! Who's this naked imbecile (Ace's just wearing his iconic shorts and boots)? Is he mad? In this weather? (looks down. Blushes immediately) That's a rather... large... scar........ What kind of w-warrior is he? Where is he from? Roman soldiers were known for being handsome, is he... (he can't believe himself for looking at his tits again) Why is he looking at me? His hair is too long for a man. (Sabo sees his smoky black eyes once more and turns away, out of breath) He's the Devil himself. I refuse to give in to temptation. I r-refuse to sin. I refuse!"

It doesn't end there, though. This hunk of a man gets thrusted to Sabo's care because no one trusts women to keep it in their pants if the Portgas D. Ace with his infinite, maxxed out rizz is right here. Sabo wants to cut his hair but couldn't bring himself to because it's just too beautiful. He simply cuts the fringe and dry-ends off before forcing Ace to shower and change into more appropriate clothing, aka this multi-layered suit that Ace wore wrongly.

Sabo couldn't stop himself from laughing. Ace pouted so much like a grumpy cat. Sabo started coughing and wiped his eyes.

"Why'd you stop?" Ace said. "Laugh more. I don't mind 'cause you're so cute."

Sabo finally sobered up. What was he doing? Acting like some lovesick fool. He never acted that way towards his own fiancé...

He didn't say anything as he helped Ace wear it properly. He couldn't help but feel he's doing something wrong. Ace looked so uncomfortable but it seemed that he understood why he's wearing this. Sabo hid his smile when Ace sneezed. Maybe he wasn't so bad.

When he's done, Sabo thought... Well, Ace is still handsome but he felt like he had taken something away from him, the thing that made him so special to begin with: his freedom. There's some spite in Sabo's grimace.

Sabo never had the chance to even dream of freedom.

This is a hard one because I've rewritten the whole thing about 5 times, and it's still coming together, but here's what will probably be the start:

They never have that meeting in Monza.

Early that morning, Charles’ phone rings, summoning him to Maranello, where Max can’t follow.

He goes, like the obedient son he is, fingers shaking so hard he drops his keys twice.

Max offers to go with him; to drive him.

He refuses. Max can’t be seen in Charles’ car, and he can’t be seen in Maranello.

He tells Max to stay here; says he’ll be back. And he takes Max’s phone.

Max hands it over. In this moment, he thinks he’d give him anything – his phone, to feel a little more secure; his spine, to stand a little straighter; his lungs, to breathe a little more steadily.

He hands it over, then watches him go.

And then he waits.

He doesn’t find out that day exactly what was said in that meeting. He won’t find out until months later, when the transcript is translated into every language, released for everyone to read.

But he doesn’t need the transcript to know that it doesn’t go well.

For hours that day, he waits in that hotel room.

He opens his laptop and logs into ‘Find my Phone’.

He watches the little dot of his iPhone drive the three hours to Maranello. He grinds his teeth so hard he gets a headache, as it sits still in the depths of the Ferrari headquarters for forty minutes.

His heart leaps into his throat with relief when the little icon finally starts crawling its way back to him, and turns to ice when he sees it stop twenty minutes into the Italian countryside, and stay there.

With frozen fingers, he logs into Whatsapp web, and sends a message, then two, then three, then ten.

Are you okay?

Charles can I call you?

I’m going to call okay?

Charles are you okay? Please pick up.

Charles doesn’t pick up. He doesn’t pick up any of Max’s three consecutive calls from his laptop.

He doesn’t pick up any of Daniel’s calls, when Max calls him, and tells him they need to find Charles – when Max shoves him into a rental car he borrows from a mechanic, and starts driving, glancing repeatedly at the little icon, now on Daniel’s phone.

By the time they find him, it’s late in the afternoon, and he’s been here for over two hours. This is another gap from that day, one Max never manages to fill. There’s no transcript or recording, and Charles never offers any recount of those hours.

When they arrive, he’s sitting in the dirt by the side of a back-road outside Maranello, car still running with the driver’s side door still open.

He barely reacts, as Max sprints over, calling his name -- even as Max reaches him, hands landing desperately on his shoulders, stroking over his back, cupping his face. His eyes are wide open and sightless – red-rimmed and glassy, fingers sifting mindlessly through the grass at his side.

He lets Max move him – lets him tip his face up and scrutinise his body for injuries, checking his pulse with no idea what he’s looking for. He doesn’t look at Max, or answer any of their questions, or otherwise give any indication that he’s aware of their presence, but he lets them sit beside him in quiet for a long time.

To Max, every second loops around him, stretched like spun sugar, settling and hardening over his skin. His thoughts whir recklessly. The questions build behind his teeth – tightly clenched – and in the frequent looks he shares with Daniel. He compulsively swallows them down, sicker and sicker until a gentle weight snaps him out of it.

Charles’ head, landing on Max’s shoulder.

Max startles.

When he looks down, Charles is blinking, face smooth.

The light’s come back into his eyes, but it's different. It's hard, bright, and glacially cold.

assigning a Pokemon to every Doctor Who

Because I Want To(TM)

Gonna do this within the specific Pokemon/Doctor Who crossover AU framework of: 1. Pokemon exist everywhere in the universe and 2. The Doctor's partner Pokemon is actually connected to the TARDIS. It's like a little part of her personality that she sounds out to accompany the Doctor and help them out.

Also, I'm choosing first-stage Pokemon, mainly so that there isn't imbalances in strength between choices. Let's just say that this TARDIS partner Pokemon can evolve on the fly when needed but prefers to be small and cute.

Okay, with that out of the way, let's go!

First Doctor: Eevee It's a classic that's full of potential, not quite done cooking but already iconic.

Second Doctor: Zorua Crafty yet adorable. I can just picture Jamie and Zoe cooing over it and lapping up all the adoration. Illusions are very, very handy in a pinch!

Third Doctor: Pichu It can power his gadgets! It can nibble on wires to foil villains' plans! It matches the color scheme of his sonic screwdriver!

Four Doctor: Cottonee Extremely fluffy- I like to think it hides in his hair. Insert grass-type-weed joke here.

Fifth Doctor: Fomantis It rides around on his lapel instead of the celery! Also, its evolution Lurantis has matching baconpants.

Sixth Doctor: Litten It's a cat, it's a fire type, I shouldn't really need to explain this one. (It uses Sunny Day to help give Peri's plants sunlight!)

Seventh Doctor: Murkrow Clever, shady, and has a nice hat. (I also headcanon Ace with a Combusken, so Seven & Ace both have birds.)

Eighth Doctor: Litwick Ghostly candle matches his gothic edgelord vibes. Probably won't steal your soul.

War Doctor: Lucario Making an exemption to the first-stage rule because the Warrior doesn't have time to mess around. Despite joining the Warrior in full-on combat, Lucarios have an in-built sense of right and wrong. Proof, perhaps, that the Warrior hasn't entirely lost his way...

Ninth Doctor: Houndour A bit intimidating, a bit prickly, but deep down, it's still a good dog at the end of the day.

Tenth Doctor: Shinx Keeping with the canine themeing but this time upping the cuddly. Don't think too hard about how dangerous electricity can be.

Eleventh Doctor: Rowlet Okay, this one's just cuz it has a bowtie.

Twelfth Doctor: Noibat It's a living boombox! I like to think that the Noibat holds a guitar sound cord in its mouth to amplify the Doctor's guitar playing through its ears.

Thirteenth Doctor: Swablu Similar typing and evolution line to the previous, but this one takes the joyful exterior to the max. It even matches her color scheme!

He says he doesn't play the game and only has it for Bepo but he decorated his part of the island from TOP TO BOTTOM and has all the cutest villagers. He has a soft spot for cute things

Saw furiosa and I’m putting some thoughts under the spoiler-

- the child actress was great, loved her

-overall just loved our short peek at the green place, very cool and solar punk. Not quite what I expected but totally love it

-wish I was able to identify the vulvalini war leader to who she was in mmfr

-really liked the kind of vignette structure that was used

-but yeah the first vignette or two was really really good, I loved Mary Jo bassa, I loved the tension of her and furi protecting the secret location

-I didnt like dementus in the trailers, but he was a lot smarter/more canny than expected. He approached furi in the right way and I think the audience really did love/hate him

-dementus at the citadel was great, loved how we established Joe’s power, but also dementus’s charisma and ability to lead a group as a ‘caring’ despot

-plus motorcycle chariot, iconic no notes

-gastown trojan horse was fine, def overshadowed by other stuff

- the parley scene, his nipples came off

- overall the handoff of furi and organic mechanic felt a little weird but I mean plot holes gonna plot hole

-teddy bear is iconic tho

-also lol at organic mechanic never aging

-aging in general was all over the place

- okay so furi is with the wives for not that long at all, and just nobody notices when she escapes???

-tho i guess rictus probably would have killed her anyway

-idk just seeing furi build the war rig made me happy, and managing to get through the environment on her own

-basically all the of the stowaway was the high point of the move

- the war rig getting built

- I think there was more CGI in this one, but overall combat still looked very very good

- coming down to the final two felt very tense, overall just great fight

-I think this is also when we saw the best acting out of Anya Taylor joy, the silent stare works when there’s crazy combat everywhere

-the time skip here was the worst tho

I watched bodies bodies bodies recently and I can’t get it out of my mind to here’s what twisted boy I think you talk the role of each character in order of death:

David: Ace - he feels like he’s stupid enough to slit his throat on accident trying to do a trick, very Ace way to die

Greg: Rook - since Greg through it was a great idea to bring hunting gear to a pool party and got his shit rocked for it

Emma: Deuce - fits with Ace as David and he feels like he’d have a similar reaction to Emma throughout the movie

Alice: Vil - fits with Rook being Greg and because Alice was a micro celebrity, also no one else could deliver Alice’s iconic line before she dies like Vil could

Jordyn: Leona - I would go Jack for this but I feel like he’s to heavy to get thrown of the balcony, also Leona would be just as aggressive as Jordyn

Bea: Jamil - fits with Bea’s plot point about how she was lying about going to university or having a job to impress Sophie because she want her to like her

Sophie: Kalim - Sophie has rich parents yeah but she is also just has the correct vibes and it fits with Jamil being Bea

There’s a new blog post about The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack on the official The Sims webpage. This time it’s a FAQ with the game developers.

There are a few new bits of information as well as answers to questions people have been asking on social media, so it’s worth the read. Check it out below.

The Sims 4 For Rent Expansion Pack comes out on December 7th.

New Lot Type

How many units can be contained within a residential rental?

6 Units can be made in a Residential Rental

Are there cheats to change this cap?

Yes! bb.increaserentalunitcap on/off

There is a max of 99 Units per Save.

How many Sims can live in each unit?

A full Sim household of 8 Sims can live in a Unit.

Are there loading screens when I want to visit another unit on the residential rental lot?

Yes, there will be loading screens between units, but sims from other units will use objects in the shared spaces.

How can I easily swap between household units to play? Do I have to go to manage worlds?

You can access units through manage worlds as always, but we have also added a new “Switch to Household” interaction on doors of the active residential lot so you can switch to other units more easily.

Can I build high-rises like in City Living?

You will still be limited to the existing build mode rules including number of floors and wall heights.

Where can’t I build Residential Rentals?

Vacation Worlds and Hidden Lots (Jungle Adventure, Batuu, Outdoor Retreat)

Can I change apartments from City Living or Eco Lifestyle to the new Residential Rentals?

Residential Rentals are brand new Lot Type with all new gameplay offered in For Rent. Existing apartments in City Living or Eco Lifestyle remain unique and separate from these new Residential Rental lot type, although Residential Rentals can be placed in lots from these worlds to add even more dimension and variety.

Can I build a Residential Rental on a Penthouse lot from City Living?

Penthouses are special lots that will not work with this venue type. Penthouses and their functionality will remain unchanged with the addition of For Rent.

Do new Residential Rental events happen on apartment lots?

We have added Maintenance Troubles as a new Lot Challenge that can be placed on any other Residential lots. The new Maintenance Events, though, can only happen on Residential Rentals by default.

Property Management

Can I own any other businesses with this pack?

You will still be able to own businesses from other packs as well as be a Property Owner for Residential Rental Lots! We do not have any new businesses added with this pack.

Do the water heater, ac units include gameplay? Do they work on lots other than Residential Rentals?

Yes there is gameplay associated with the Water Heater, Electrical Panel, AC unit, and the Radiators. Some of these will have additional gameplay when used in conjunction with Seasons.

These will work for all Residential lots, but when used in Residential Rental lots they will work for the individual units if placed inside them or for all units if placed in shared spaces.

Can a unit on a Residential Rental be a business venue/lot type?

Residential Rentals, a business in and of themselves, cannot be combined with other businesses.

Does mold cause Sims to become zombies?

Mold gameplay and associated deaths are very opt-in and easily avoidable. No Zombie outbreaks are attached to this new death type and ghost.

Closer than Ever

Will sims Snoop by themselves (autonomously)?

If Sims have the Nosy trait they will observe other Sims, but will not find out any secrets.

Are Snooping Sims Burglars? Will Burglar music play?

The iconic Sim burglar experience intrudes our thoughts for another day. Snooping and secrets are subtly different, although can be combined with Kleptomanic Trait for some fun and interesting active gameplay.

Do secrets and snooping work with any Sim and on any lot, or only on Residential Rentals?

Yes, these are available for all lots, not just Residential Rentals.

What new animals are in the animal sanctuary – is it a rabbithole?

The Tiger Sanctuary in Tomarang is a rabbithole activity for Sims. While your Sims adventure offscreen, you’ll navigate the best choice path to earn them cool new rewards and unlockables!

Hopscotch and Marbles – what age groups can play these activities? Is it only children?

Marbles is Child specific, but collecting Marbles is available even after you’ve become an adult.

Hopscotch was designed for Child Sims, but can be used by Teens and Up as well.

Can I ride Boats or in the Tuk Tuk?

No, Boats and Tuk Tuks are just for ambiance

For Pride this year Max is going under the queer microscope- because his relationship with his sexuality is by far one of the more complex and confusing on the show. This is in part because he is unaware of his queerness to a certain extent as well as the concepts to explain them. This lack of awareness manages to create situations in which he is full of assumptions and incorrectly applies/assumes labels for other queer characters (aka the renown bunker scene from 1x11). It’s Max’s innate queerness, his bisexuality intersecting with aro tendencies, that places him in a unique position to erase the very concept of bisexuality he was exposed to and assume incorrectly that queerness is a universally fixed concept.

Max Evans approaches love and sex as separate commodities that are only incidentally connected. This impacts his understanding of sexuality as a whole since it bisects his understanding of love more closely than his understanding of sex.

As a character Max is depicted as having separate views of romanticism and sex, both concepts being fully detached in his mind and therefore action. This can be seen from his approach to romantic relationships during season one and how they intersect his relationship with sexuality. Max spends a decade after Liz leaves Roswell in love with her. This is depicted not only as a strong connection he has felt since a young age but also as a very real and adult version of love. In addition to this intense love he is heavily implied to not have sought romantic relationships for over a decade while she was away and having no intentions of doing so. This long term romantic abstinence isn’t depicted as a struggle for any other reason then the lack of someone he loves being in his life.

Instead the show uses his lack of romantic attraction as not only a given but a device to depict his inability and infrequency of making initial romantic attraction. For Max his romantic attraction and intent is far removed from his sexual attraction. This can be seen through his dynamic with Jenna and his attempt and inability to view love and sex under the same lense. Max spends the two years of their friendship without feeling any romantic attraction or having any romantic intent- while having a sexual relationship for an unspecified amount of time. This relationship is challenged when he tries and fails to give into the societal expectation of love and sex being blended together. All of Max’s sexual relationships on screen aside from the one with Liz are depicted as being far removed from romanticism and he is even depicted as being incapable of making that connection when he tries in 1x03. This is because for Max romance and sex are opposite commodities that have separate impacts on sexuality. Which can be seen through how he approaches sexuality through the lense of romance versus the lense of desire.

This separation of love and sex creates a situation in which Max’s character views sexuality as a by product of romanticism instead of being connected to sexual desire. Which in turn impacts his understanding of sexuality as a whole and creates the situation in which he can erase his understanding of bisexuality and assume another character’s queer identity matches his own.

This is evident in 1x11 when he assumes Michael’s relationship with his sexuality is also tied to his relationship with romanticism. Max’s struggle isn’t with the concept of sexual desire existing between Michael and Maria, but with the concept of Michael being capable of romantic attraction on multiple accounts at once and his sexual orientation being based on sexual desire instead of romantic attraction. Because not only does Max not doubt Michael’s ability to want sex with women (or his own sexual attraction to men) but he has a foundational understanding and exposure to bisexuality through his religious readings. All to say that Max’s struggle is not with bisexuality or sexual orientation, but with the separate concepts of love and sex. Because his view of sexual orientation isn’t connected to sexual attraction but his aromantic orientation.

Which is how Max is a complex queer character who intersects multiple possible identities within the aro/ace spectrum with a heavy canonical implication of Demi-sexuality and romanticism.

also these headcanons don't stop me from reading fics/headcanons that go against anything i state here. i'm always open to different thoughts/interpretations of these boys and always down for queer representation, no matter the form it comes in.

obviously we've got the canon boys - dieter (i see him not giving two shits about pronouns and is happy to be referred to in any way) and oberyn being bi, and silva being gay. i love that he's played multiple canonically queer characters, and i never see people taking advantage of that?? ok not never, there are a few that acknowledge these three love men and i love those writers to death, thank u for your service lol

marcus p (pan, prefers women/fem aligned people) frankie (bi, loves equally) javi g (pan, prefers men/male aligned people)(i could also see him questioning his gender a little? might start liking "they" once in a while) jack (bi, prefers women)(might be demiromantic given that he's still in love with his wife) nico (pan, loves equally and is a bit of a slut and we celebrate that here) max p (pan, loves equally, but probably said/did some things that were harmful in college to impress his bros. he was in a frat, wasn't he? was 100% closeted until being turned.)

ezra is nb/gnc and is pansexual. i see him using he/they pronouns. every time i see your icon i do a little happy dance lol

din is demisexual and really only has feelings for cobb

marcus m is straight and demisexual, really only loved his wife and is content to keep it that way

shane/dio is gay and is very closeted/overcompensates a lot

ok and we've got the ones i believe are straight, however:

joel is straight, but is completely comfortable with himself. has gone to a gay bar or two in his time and was very flattered when men would hit on him/buy him drinks. also, i could see him just like, not feeling anything sexual/romantic after tess. i do think he and tess were romantically involved; i don't think it was just sex/physical. it's really not something i see him caring about after her. so he's gotta be somewhere on the ace spectrum.

i'm kind of on the fence about javi p, because i could see him going one of two ways; he's either experimented and came to the conclusion that he's just more attracted to women than anyone else, or he's near violently straight. and that's either a combination of the time period he's in, or some other reason. but ultimately i think he's straight.

pero is straight, but like, probably in denial about himself. it gets lonely as a merc and when you're traveling with a bunch of men all the time? i could see him just like, not caring one way or the other. a hand/mouth on his dick is still a hand/mouth on his dick y'know what i mean? lmao

maxwell is straight, and is the only one i can see being a tad homophobic before either someone tells him hey, maybe that way of thinking is bad, hm? it's the 80s, it would make sense, but i can see him having a complete turn around and being a total ally. probably a little cringey, but he's got the spirit! lol
