Slightly Crack Batfam AU

Duke, shortly after being adopted, finds an old demon summoning circle burned into the floor under a rug in one of the rooms.

That, combined with some of the literature he finds laying around, leads him to conclude that someone in his new family is secretly a demon and he starts trying to figure out who.

Could it be Bruce, the literal demon of the night?

Dick, who bends and flips effortlessly in ways no normal human could?

Jason seems the most likely, as he climbed out of his own grave, but to be fair, he'd never actually seen Tim sleep.

And then there was Damian.

He never would have guessed that the demon is actually Alfred, summoned by a desperate, distraught Bruce the night of his parents' deaths.

Originally, their deal was just for Alfred to help Bruce get his revenge.

The reason he stuck around, though?

He realized he needed to make sure that Bruce and his collection of equally crazy orphans stayed OUT of the afterlife (and therefore AWAY from the throne of hell, which he has no doubt someone would eventually take) and decided to stay on as their oddly perfect butler.

Dead Language Expert

Danny never thought that he could "major" in languages, and get a job as a translator. But apparently knowing all the dead languages ​​by default and being able to time travel with the help of your ghost tutor was pretty useful outside of Amity.

It happened purely by chance, he was walking through a museum and started laughing because of a mistake in one of the sentences that completely changed the meaning of the text. The museum manager, of course, did not believe him, since many people had said that the piece was "impossible to translate". But he study it anyway.

Days later they were looking for him to translate all the things from that time. And he just carried on with it, in many more civilizations. In some cases he even asked for a few trips to the past to Clockwork to verify.

It got to a point where the wizards, heroes and villains over the world knew him as "the translator of dead languages" and some of them even tried to kidnap him to perform a summoning ritual. Danny rolled his eyes and easily freed himself, but the League assigned him an "escort" anyway.

Exasperated, the halfa escaped from his escorts and continued his work as normal. Superman almost fell out of his chair at the Watchtower meeting when he was informed that the boy had translated the language of Krypton and other missing planets. Besides having managed to lose both the Flash and Green Latern, what the fuck?

Remus looked up from his book to see none other than Sirius Black standing in front of him.

“Sirius,” he said slowly, registering the way his boyfriend smiled hesitantly. “What did you do?”

“Nothing illegal yet, I hope,” Sirius joked weakly. He handed Remus a heavy wrapped box that he had been holding behind his back. “This is for you, Moony.”

“Thanks?” Remus tilted his head as he tore away the wrapping paper, revealing a gilded, leather-bound book. The Picture of Dorian Gray, it read on the cover.

“So?” Sirius asked expectantly. “What do you think?”

“I- Sirius, I can’t take this.”

Sirius looked lost. “What? Why not?”

Remus ran a hand through his hair, a deranged giggle bubbling out of him. “Because- Merlin, Sirius, this must’ve cost a fortune! I can’t possibly pay you back-”

Sirius waved a hand dismissively. “There’s no need to pay me back, Moons. It’s a gift.”

“I still can’t take this, Pads,” Remus spluttered. “It’s too much.”

Sirius frowned. “Take it, Moony. It’s for you. Besides, it won’t matter whatever you think you owe me when we’re married.”

Remus chose to ignore the utter conviction that Sirius had when he said they’d get married. “Pads, I can’t-”

“Yes, you can. Besides, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t spend the Blacks’ ‘hard-earned’ money on my partner?”

“...fine,” Remus grumbled. “I’ll keep it.”

“Great!” Sirius chirped. “It’s also a first edition, by the way-”

“Sirius.”

The funniest thing to me about the trans Danny headcannon is when its paired with the Fentons finding out hes a ghost and trying to dissect him. Like Jack calls him "Danny boy" so obviously they're supportive and affirming. I bet they'd even make hormones for his HRT in their lab. I bet they'd even do his top surgery for him if he asked (which is really funny with the dissection thing, like this isn't the first time they've cut him open on their lab table but this time its malicious). They completely accept his gender identity, but as soon as he comes out as a ghost, he's as good as dead to them (hah).

It makes me think of those parents who are like "yeah you're gay and trans, that's fine, of course I love you. You're VEGAN?! YOUR MOTHER'S GOING TO CRY WHEN SHE FINDS OUT! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"

I haven't seen enough post-canon completely horrified jayvik. This is Viktor's like. Third time dying, WHY WON'T IT STICK. He'd probably be upset he's still around, forced to live after all he's done. And this is Jayce's FIRST time dying, he'd be confused and thankful? In a way? Still clutching Viktor in their cosmic death pose because he can't breathe and doesn't know if this is real.

Charles loves Edwin So Much for so many reasons, but I think there must be a particular kind of joy for Charles, who walked on eggshells trying not to say the wrong thing to set off his dad for years, and probably brushed off a lot of racist micro aggressions from his friends before they killed him, watch Edwin Payne absolutely rip a man to shreds with his words.

edwin can’t fit in, has always been too effeminate, too queer, too autistic, and they already killed him for it so he doesn’t bother. what a relief it must be for Charles to be around someone completely, stubbornly himself.

someone who doesn’t lie because it doesn’t occur or him to. someone who is viciously, rightfully angry about the violence that was done to him. who maybe.. Charles doesn’t have to pretend around

i don't like putting homophobia in my fictional worlds so like when i think of bbc merlin i like to imagine uther as a classist anti-magic bigot but a hashtag ally. anyways i thought of a way to make homophobia make sense in canon without it being like. serious?

we know that true love is a force powerful enough to overpower any love spell so i think it's safe to say that love is the most powerful force in albion, above even magic. and this is smth i maybe made up but sex is a sacred thing in magic and to the druids. sex rituals happen all the time and the power from sex fuels spells to make them more powerful.

how would uther weaken the magical community? outlaw wlw and mlm relationships to that love and sex can't be used in magic. he couldn't outlaw love and sex entirely as men and women needed to have children to continue on the population. he uses the new religion to push that it's immoral to engage in mlm/wlw relationships and that's what arthur grew up hearing but he's known since he was a kid that he's gay so he has his own super deadly secret he can't let anyone know.

the druids never bend to uther's laws and continue their free love and that's why arthur is always sympathetic to their plight and hates when his father sends him to raid their camps because part of him feels like he's hurting his own people. it's also why uther is able to get away with attacking peaceful people without anybody bashing him for it - they have magic and they're immoral.

Each generation of fanfic writers are introducing more headcanons in their works and sometimes their fanfics of fanfics become so popular that they are prompting new sub-fandoms to emerge, inspiring more people to draw fanart and write fanfics for these fanfics of fanfics. It’s almost as if there is a family tree of fanfics and we’re now reaching the third generation and beyond
