Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving! Regardless of its origins, to me this is just a day to spend time with family and be grateful for all that we have. Gratitude is the right attitude! I know, so cheesy! For real though, spend more time focusing on what you have rather than what you don't have. It can really shift your mindset to one of more positivity and happiness. 😊 I've struggled with mental health all my life but I've found that recently I've been doing really well and part of that is that I've been trying to focus on the good things. Today I'm grateful for my family, my health, my dog, my home, having a job, almost being done getting my degree, having lots of food to put on the table today. I recognize that I am incredibly privileged and many people don't have the same opportunities as me. I am grateful that I am in a stable and healthy position and I wish that on everyone who is struggling. Have a great day! If you continually put negative thoughts, news, experiences, words, etc. into your mind, you will only see the world through those filters. The same goes with putting positive, uplifting and hope filled thoughts, experiences, music, words, entertainment, etc. into your mind. Whatever you put inside of you is what is going to come out and you absolutely cannot expect to have a positive life with a negative mindset. It's your choice what you want to surround yourself with and immerse yourself in. You are ultimately the final decision in creating your life. If you don't like where you are, how you feel, what your finances and health are like and so forth, then take steps to change that and be serious about it. If you change nothing, nothing changes. Look for the people in your life who have the lives you wish to live and then emulate them. Read what they read. Do what they do. Listen to their word choices when they speak. Surround yourself with people going in the same direction as you are and who have similar goals. If you stumble, they will lift you up and help keep you going. It's up to you to allow what will be inside of you. Negative or positive? Something that grows you, or things that will hold you back? You are responsible for yourself. Nobody else is. Can we talk #momjeans for a second?! I typically stick to skinny, dark wash jeans because we’ve been sold on “they make you look thinner!” But... there’s something to be said for these too - not better or worse - just different.
