I went out to Hoboken to try my first acai bowl. The place is called Acai Ya Later, and the bowl was really good. I tried Berry Me acai bowl which included strawberries, blueberries, coconut flakes, granola, and peanut butter. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone in Hoboken to check it out.

Acai bowl and spam musubi
Tumblr media
bowl and spam musubi!
Acai bowls originate from Brazil from the Gracie family in the 1980s, a family in the fighting and gym business. Today, surfers, Hawaiians, and San Franciscans overtake the tradition and enjoy acai bowls for their refreshing taste after a long day of working out. However, everyone today enjoys acai bowl on a cold or warm day. But why? Well, for starters they are a sweet, filling and delicious meal. They are healthy too, for the most part and depending on toppings, but they contain many antioxidants, fibers, and healthy-heart fats, basically like a thicker version of a smoothie and other toppings.
Spam musubi originates from the islands of Hawaii from Japanese-Americans. A simple meal or snack all you need is a block of rice, a sliver of nori, and a slice of grilled and marinated sweet/salty spam musubi. Spam was inspired by the Japanese snack, onigiri, a rice ball filled with meat and wrapped in nori.
