"Gaetz's path was mired by a series of allegations of sexual misconduct, including sex with a minor. On Thursday, NBC News learned from a source familiar that the House Ethics Committee, which had been investigating Gaetz, was told that a 17-year-old girl had two sexual encounters with the Florida Republican at a 2017 party.
The description of the second encounter was included in her testimony to the House Ethics Committee as well as a deposition in a related civil lawsuit. The second sexual encounter included another adult woman, according to a source familiar."

i’m so sick of people treating cults like silly little props for their stories. here’s a list of cozy games where you start a cult! try this board game where you’re competing to be the most successful cult leader! want to join my fake cult roleplay server? cult leader character design! read this forbidden erotica romance book about a cult leader and a cult member!
it’s so endlessly frustrating. the majority of my life i suffered awful abuse because of the cult i was in. every part of my body holds an immense amount of trauma that i may never be able to let go of, and i may never be able to function independently because of it. and people are out here acting as if cults are just silly fantasy and would never happen in real life. cults are real! their victims are real! the abuse and the trauma is real!
media about cults can absolutely be well-done and respectful - but at this point it feels like it’s almost always used for either shock value or treated like a fun cutesy storytelling trope. the commodification and normalization of our trauma is nauseating, especially when the majority of cult survivors will never see justice.
idk. i’m just so sick of it. cult survivors deserve better.
(anyone can interact but please be normal. i’m not sharing any identifying info about the cult i was in, don’t bother asking.)

Hey could you do some headcanons with Adrien haveing a twin sister or younger sister by a year?
Oh, buddy, I am perhaps the worst person to ask! Let's use Eloise for the sister's name.
- Adrien and Eloise have an incredibly, unsettlingly codependent relationship. The emotional neglect led to the siblings fulfilling way more of each other's emotional needs than they probably should have.
- Adrien was Emilie's favorite because Emilie is a boy mom. Gabriel did not have a favorite because that would require caring about the kids in general.
- Gabriel will start to get weird about Eloise in a way that he is not about Adrien, simply because she resembles Emilie more due to the virtue of not having a Y chromosome. YMMV on what I mean by "weird", but I definitely feel like she would get sheltered/kept inside even more than Adrien is. This is definitely a big change for Eloise compared to before Emilie's death, where Adrien was the one given more attention in general.
- Both are fairly academically inclined due to all of that homeschooling, but Eloise is probably put into ballet when Adrien is put into fencing. (Not to say she can't also like fencing, I just think the Agreste parents aren't immune to following gender roles)
- Both are also forced to model, often together. They tend to disassociate in sync, it's a neat party trick! Any commercials/Disney Channel Originals/etc they're in tend to rely hard on the twin/sibling factor.
- I could definitely see a sort of Lyney/Lynette dynamic from them (if you're vaguely familiar with Genshin)
- Adrien is definitely exposed to more physical abuse than Eloise, while Eloise's is usually non-physical. Of course, Adrien has the usual brotherly sense of "I never want my sibling to go through what I've gone through", so he puts up with a lot under the pretense that it will protect Eloise.
- ^ He is wrong.
#i'm surprised you went to me. hopefully you didn't want cute/fluffy headcanons?#sorry i only deal in pain and suffering xP#also curious as to why those HCs specifically. is it a self-insert thing? no judgement if so#personally chloe has always felt very much like the best candidate for adrien's sister to me#with the caveat of her 'romantic' feelings to adrien just being a mistake on her part. she just cares about him in general#anyway i tried to be light on emotional incest HCs but those who know me know that would definitely be a factor in this fucked up family to#cw child abuse mention#wissym answers

It's really particularly ghoulish how much trans suicide / abuse rate studies gets tossed back and forth by the 'community'.
Super fucking cruel and dehumanising to reduce something so dire into evidence for or against 'which flavor of trans person is the most oppressed and needs to be listened to over the other'.
Kind of revealing ime that this isn't really about queer rights or mental health but just like. A fucking slap fight. That one side will 'win'. And I guess the other shuts up and dies quieter.
Damn really trans men are the most likely to be suicidal / commit suicide? Makes perfect sense to me I know how invisibility kills. I know without other queer people I would have no one I'd feel safe to talk to who I trust to not make it gendered or use my vulnerability to try and turn me away from manhood or force me to conform to it.
Damn really trans women are the most likely to be physically abused and murdered? Makes perfect sense. Transmisogyny is dire and allows systemic violence to occur without repercussion more frequently than other trans people or cis women.
If you use these studies as fucking tit-for-tat fight winning material, you are reducing the lives of other trans people to fucking numbers to prove your fucking point. Do you feel good? Do you win? Do we win. Have the numbers gone down. I don't fucking think they will.
#suicide mention#suicide discussion#idk how best to specify the formal nature of the usage of the term#transphobia#again its also jus. almost always ignores nonbinary people and intersex people#if you forced people to pick either man / woman as identities#thered be thousands of potential studies with different answers for who is 'the most abused / suicidal'#the fucking leaderboard is meaningless because you cannot fucking count binary gender without excluding nonbinary people#idk how to phrase that#in general i hate how people use studies and theory#like ohhh my goood... there is no fucking formal transandrophobia theory... using transmisogyny to silence the discussion is just. sick.#this isnt a fucking academic refute its peoples fucking lives#its just as ghoulish as bringing up the stupid baeddel thing to make trans women look bad and not trustworthy#iiiiittttts transphobiaaaaaa!#but like. transtransphobia#yippeeeeeeeee

One statement you guys said really hit me hard but in a way that made me feel glad to see it being said by other people.
‘Abuse victims don’t need to be criticized, they’re already doing it to themselves’
I’m not an abuse victim (maybe I am, I’m honestly not sure at this point) but I do struggle with mental health issues and it makes living my everyday life hard, especially dealing with other personal issues that’s not making it any easier. Despite having loved ones know my state and what I’m going through, I still get scolded at or criticized and I really don’t need to hear that, especially since I’m already scolding myself whenever I mess up. Cursing at myself for not doing better. I don’t need to hear it from the people I need support from and most times, I just suck it up and go ‘it’s my fault- I should have done better’.
Like I know- I deal with it every day, it’s not like I asked to have these mental illnesses.
So it’s always refreshing to see this community from time to time. Maybe hopefully I’ll be in a place where I’ll no longer deal with it, as well as everyone else who is in any horrific situation.
Sorry to hear about what you've gone through, anon, I've certainly been there where I've often wondered if things had been different if I had a rewind button or hell, if I was a completely different person. And that's applicable to both my abuse and my mental health.
So, I completely get it and when I see people pointing the finger at abuse victims or characters trying to make a statement for said victims, it's just wild to me because you're putting the expectation of acting like a normal, everyday person with no worries or flaws on an individual that not only probably has other things going on mentally/physically but has also been broken down to nothing. All the while... they're thinking why they can't be that and maybe that's the reason this shit happens.
And that's fucked up.
It's why we're trying our best to make this an understanding and empathetic community. It's why we're so vocal and sometimes borderline aggressive with certain things because there's just nothing worse than getting into media that you feel that cares about you and you see other fans using it as a springboard to cast judgement over the situation being depicted. Your situation.
And there's nothing wrong with people having their own interpretation of things. But when said interpretation is just a means to drop ice cold takes like 'people who are being abused and don't make steps to leave are just weak/selfish and not actually victims', then we feel we have to step in, I'm afraid. - RJ

ASC Thunder Spoilers
some of y'all are fuckin weird about Squirrelstar/Brambleclaw
by that I mean the few people that viscerally hate Squirrelstar as if she personally killed their mother, plan to boycott the series until she dies, & are trying to pass off Brambleclaw as a completely innocent, misunderstood, wounded uwu baby with an annoying, naggy wife whose sympathy from the fandom is undeserved.
like i get it's just a fictional series about cats but the way some people try to justify Brambleclaw's abusive traits, claim that Squilf deserved to be mistreated by Bramble for one reason or another, act like those abusive traits aren't actually that bad, that they don't exist, or that they're just normal behavior creates some really horrible implications about the way people recognize & sympathize with those in abusive relationships. they may be fictional cats, sure, but passionately ranting about how badly you want the abuse victim to die & how innocent, misunderstood, & "overhated" the abuser is is very uncomfortable idc.
i'm not saying people can't dislike Squilf or even that they can't like Brambleclaw as a character, but when talking about these very real abusive traits that affect people in real life, if your first reaction is to try to justify them & pretend like they're not actually abusive traits that is genuinely disgusting & has really scary real life implications.
#hopefully I articulated this in a proper way I know this is a very sensitive subject & want to treat it with as much respect as possible#tumblr seems to be mostly pro-squilf (& so does the fandom in general) but i've seen a few Bramble sympathizers on other platforms who are#just being so weird & gross about this situation. dislike the orange cat all you want but don't try to paint real abuse traits as normal#behavior. that crosses the line & become so much more dangerous than just disliking a fictional cat.#tw abuse#tw mentions of abuse#warriors#warrior cats#warrior cats spoilers#asc spoilers#asc thunder spoilers#thunder spoilers#asc thunder#squirrelstar#squirrelflight#brambleclaw#bramblestar

2025 is the year of fuck it, we ball and in the spirit of that I'm dropping my most nuclear SCP opinion: I don't like the idea of any fanon interpretation of SCP 231 trying to water down the horrors of 110 Montauk, the treatment of SCP 231-1 through 7 or the Scarlet King becoming canon. The entire point of SCP 231 is the horrific, unfair consequences these girls endure because of the Scarlet King and his cult and the moral ramifications that the foundation faces because of the horrific acts of violence they have to inflict on these girls they sympathize with in order to keep the world at large safe. It is the definitive moral quandary of the foundation and stripping away the immoral aspects of SCP 231 removes the moral nuances that give the story of SCP 231-1 through 7 any weight.
With that being said I will say that I like and respect Fear Alone as an alternative interpretation of SCP 231's story because it subverts the initial expectations of horror you'd expect with SCP 231 and shifts the moral quandary to how fucked up it is to gaslight foundation staff into truly believing that they are harming a child. And I especially like how Katherine (SCP 231-7) is humanized and is turned into a character instead of a number. I just don't believe it should be canon because it strips away the immorality that makes SCP 231 a real moral quandary for the foundation.
If anything I think there are ways to humanize SCP 231-1 through 7 while still facing the full horror of SCP 231 as a story, even if you don't want to directly write about 110 Montauk. While I don't personally know how long SCP 231-7 endures 110 Montauk someone could interpret that there are breaks between each ritual and spin the administering of class a amnestics as a mercy when in reality it is a tool to inflict more suffering. And by focusing on the times between each ritual you have time to characterize SCP 231-7 and the staff around her, to show that SCP 231-7 has a life outside of these rituals, even if that life is scary or confusing for her. Then between the transitions of time someone would want to put in this hypothetical story they could imply the horror of what SCP 231-7 goes through without showing it and instead focusing on the medical assistance she'd need afterwards. Even if someone wouldn't want to go that route because it doesn't provide any real closure they could write about SCP 231-6's escape attempt and how she almost got away, or even how her death was faked. Or they could even write about SCP 231-7's escape or escape attempt and all of the ramifications that come along with her escape or demise.
With the more positive stuff out of the way I will say that I genuinely dislike the fanon interpretation of SCP 231's story that casts SCP 682 and SCP 999 as children of SCP 231-4 and SCP 231-7. And yes I am saying fanon interpretation because while SCP files are under a creative commons license this interpretation of SCP 231's story or Fear Alone were, to my knowledge, not made by SCP 231's original author. Even with all of the redacted information on SCP 231's file I don't think any of it is supposed to be legible even if it was put through a block text translator to maintain a sense of mystery. (Trust me I tried putting the SCP numbers through a block text translator and I couldn't find anything legible.) Plus SCP 999 isn't mentioned in the document at all and the document isn't written in a way that would intentionally misdirect readers about SCP 231-7's fate while implying she gave birth. The document is solely about SCP 231-7 and the moral implications of what she's going through. And that's how it should be.
Making SCP 682 a child of SCP 231-4 strips away SCP 682's agency as a character and ties him in with a story that flattens the nuances of his character. If SCP 682 is a child of the Scarlet King his hatred for humanity just becomes this inherent evil within him instead of leaving room for interpretation about why SCP 682 hates humanity even though he has the capacity to befriend SCP 053 and SCP 079. Using a familial tie to the Scarlet King as an explanation for why SCP 682 hates humanity strips away any humanity SCP 682 has as a character and that will always be an inherent disservice to his character.
But the worst offender of this fanon interpretation by far is SCP 999. Don't get me wrong, I like SCP 999, I really do. But I don't think SCP 999 is supposed to be a character, I think he's supposed to be an embodiment of good in its purest form. He doesn't need to be some big hero in someone else's story because saving the world isn't what being good is about. Hell, the SCP foundation itself, especially in this case, shows that being good and saving the world are very much not the same thing sometimes. Being good is as simple as showing a genuine love for the people around you and putting in a genuine effort to make things better for those people. And that's all SCP 999 ever needed to show. Throwing him into the lore of SCP 231 and the Scarlet King as SCP 231-7's child ditches the point SCP 999 originally made about being good and flattens the moral nuances involved with SCP 231's lore in general by providing a cop out solution to the moral quandary SCP 231 was built on to begin with. Plus I think implying that the torture SCP 231-7 has endured was not only for nothing but that her violation directly produced a messianic figure that could save the world from her abuser is infinitely crueler than SCP 231 as a story canonically is now. SCP 231 isn't an incel fantasy like Redo of Healer or hedonistic torture porn for the sake of it like Marquis de Sade's works, it is a piece of horror. And the horror is the fact that these girls are victims that cannot be saved, no matter how much anyone in the foundation sympathizes with them. The girls are not to blame for anything that happened to them but they cannot be humanized by the foundation or else the foundation will not have the resolve to keep the world safe. SCP 231-1 through 7's treatment is supposed to be the blight on the foundation they can never wash away. And at this point I would rather have this incredibly bleak story about these girls than a happy ending where SCP 999 saves the day and erases these girls from their own story, their own suffering.
If anyone reading this doesn't like the grave moral implications of SCP 231 that is perfectly fine, but I would rather you spend time reading or making content about SCPs you do like than stripping away the moral complexities of this SCP to make it more palatable.
#scp#scp 231#scp 231-7#scp 682#scp 999#scp fandom#ash rants#please be warned if you don't know anything about SCP 231 the article discusses a lot of dark subject matter#and it should be avoided if any mentions of sa or abuse in general triggers you#also please forgive the length I had a lot of opinions on this#I want to reiterate that I like all of the SCPs in this post#I really do#I don't want to come off as an scp 682 anti or an scp 999 anti because I like them as they are in their files#I just don't like this one interpretation of their stories#I'm also not mad at any fans of these interpretations#I'm just annoyed that the SCP 682 and 999 children of Scarlet King thruthers don't always think through the implications of their fanon

is it fair to call people like this "hack writers" if the only way they find a relationship interesting is when it involves pedophilia, incest, cannibalism or necrophilia?
#context: this was in response to a quote about cannibalism in a romantic context#note: this is purely in a writing perspective.#i find the value in romantic cannibalism because it is a interesting metaphor in general#but maybe look at irl examples of cannibalism and you'll realize that it is WAY more complicated#(ex. families in different cultures eating parts of a dead family member to connect them together; even after death)#(or the written historical accounts of slave-owners cannibalizing their slaves & the subsequent trauma for black people related to it)#cannibalism as a metaphor should never be restrained to only romance or love#do you recognize how interesting it can be to use cannibalism as a metaphor for hate? or for literally anything else?#it can be used as a metaphor for control; power; possession; abuse or destroying someone at their very core#im sure it can be used for both simultaneously but i think its limiting to perceive it as 100% romantic#also it limits the discussions of real life cannibalism; both modern and historical#+ is it really impossible to think of a “forbidden relationship” without these 4 subjects?#but the persons' bio starts w/ them being into winc3st (the one who wrote that) so i dont think they give a shit#(sorry for the fuck-ton of tags. it always bothered me as someone who does writing analysis sometimes & get fixated on culture and history)#[just me yapping]#ok to rb#proships dni#tw pedophila mention#tw incest mention#tw necrophillia#racism tw#tw cannibalism#<- these definitely apply here#[discourse talk]

Silm reread 13: Maeglin (The 13 is a fitting number)
TW, CW, all kinds of warnings: Eol is in this part. And Maeglin. So, you know. All that stuff will be mentioned. And some discussion of what Maeglin's plans were.
Aredhel wants to leave, Turgon's reply is interesting. It's not "my heart", but "my reason objects" which a) is a rare phrasing (but makes sense here) b) it turns out that Turgon does have a functioning reason. Also, he says it will end badly for both of them. Huh. I have a feeling that turgon does not very well distinguish between foresight and reasoning.
Aredhel feels as if he was trying to command her and gets upset. I don't think he is. I think Turgon is more worried about his secrets, than sexist and trying to command her, because he is the brother. He says it, even. The problem is people knowing the city's location going out.
The only remotely patronizing thing he says is "there are dangers the princess doesn't know about". But I don't feel like his whole attitude towards Aredhel is patronizing.
Thingol hates the sons of Feanor so much he doesn't let their friends in, or at least people who are visiting them. Which… it's after he learned about Alqualonde, right? It makes a lot of sense.
So Aredhel goes through the spider-country. I knew it will appear somewhere. Her "bodyguards" are lost and have to run away, but she's fine and competent and goes to C&C's home but they're not home.
Also, only on this reread I realized, how far those journeys are. Also, elven timescales. C&C are chillin with the 3rd C on a vacation and it lasts over a year. Aredhel gets bored, wanders into Nan Elmoth and :(
So, Nan Elmoth. Enchanted by Melian long ago, but now dark, the darkest forest. I did talk about Melian being Melkor-aligned, haven't I? (Not as in: evil. As in "she was close to him conceptually by "birth" but did not join the rebellion.) This is just my hc, but I felt like mentioning it.
So, Eol. Eol is very dark too and kind of sus. He doesn't like Doriath, he fled when Melian did the Girdle (why?), he loved shadow. He is a goth and this is kind of sus. He's also pals with Dwarves (who were evil in the early Legendarium). This in itself is not evil, but feels like a foreshadowing nonetheless. Also, I think no matter his morality, in each case he would be much more likely to use poison than the Noldor were. (Maybe non-lethal poison, if he was a nicer person). Also, he invents cool black goth!mithril galvorn. And he made the two coolest swords in the Legendarium, but this will be said later.
Also, he blames the Noldor fot Morgoth's return (unjustly) and for some other things, as we see later (justly).
Also, the narrative feels the need to explicitely tell us that he is not a Dwarf, but a noble Elf. Also he is sad but handsome and has darkvision. Which is cool.
What is not cool starts here. He sees Aredhel being pretty and wants her so he magics her into not being able to leave the forest and into wandering into his house, where he invites her in.
And they get married. In circumstances not elaborated about, but even if she did fall in love, the gps-jamming trick was very not ok as a way to flirt. And yes, he explicitely did it because he wanted her.
"Nobody claims the marriage was non-consensual" says the narrative. which very much reads as Pengolodh going "I will not claim it for lack of proof, but I think it". Anyway, ok, let's take it at face value, she fell in love, ok, fine, he was handsome and had cool swords, I get it.
Aaaand as her husband he ordered Aredhel to not go in sunlight, and to not meet the sons of Feanor or even any other Noldor. this guy really needs a course on relationships. (To be honest to Eol, his parents are never mentioned and such stuff often is generational, so his fault might have been less that it feels. But still. I want to punch him.)
Maeglin. He is really good at reading people's minds, and at commanding people. Also, he's tall, dark-eyed, dark-haired, pale and Noldor-shaped. Tl;dr: he is really handsome.
Dad takes him to visit the Dwarves and Maeglin learns stuff. Mom tells him about the Noldor and Maeglin wants to meet Turgon and the Feanorians. Eol rants at him, partially reasonable (they mourdered our close kin and stole are lands), partially not (you are my son, so you will do as I say or I will bind you).
Ugh. his idea of a family. I'm pretty sure he had some orcs in the line, or at least some escaped thralls with a lot of emotional damage. This sounds like Angband logic.
Maeglin doesn't seem to love his father either: he wants to leave with Aredhel, because he learned all that he could from Eol (and the Dwarves), so what use in staying. I don't blame him. So they leave.
C&C don't like Eol (not surprising with his attitude towards the Noldor) and Curufin is said to be hasty (before it was Caranthir. I guess they both are?)
OK, I don't get it. Curufin disses Eol, but still he does tell him all he needs to know to find Aredhel (who is his friend, the book said, or at least Celegorm's). I guess this is the hasty personality at work.
Please, do not be like Curufin. when a suspicious / unknown person asks you about your friend's wherabouts, shut up, and check with your friend first. (Curufin did not have a phone, but still, he could have shut up.)
Also, Curufin, out of all people, gives Eol a sort-of-prophecy! With all the "my heart is telling me". Which checks out later.
"I can't kill you because the laws of the Eldar" — well, it is before Doriath, so maybe he still cares? Or maybe it's just "Maedhros would be mad at me".
Eol is good at sneaking, I suppose, but the guards of Gondolin are better at guarding. They catch him and, because he says that he's Aredhel's husband, they do not kill him against the king's explicit orders on what to do with tresspassers. I have no idea what to make of this whole situation (not logically, logically it makes sense. But narratively, thematically.)
Eol sees the city and is amazed, and gets even angrier and more hateful at the Noldor. It reminds me of something. "you have a lot of cool stuff, I hate you even more" is rthe exact same reaction as (canonically) Melkor has after his release from Mandos. and Turgon, just like Manwe, is clueless not reading people's minds and it wouldn't be posiible in this case anyway. And is kind and gives him the benefit of doubt.
Eol refuses to shake his hand, like an upset preschooler, and disses Turgon. He starts very reasonably (this is our land, you are proud and did a lot wring, also I don't care about your city's secrets), but then he gets on the sexism again. And heavily.
His argument is "I will take my son, but if you as the brother claim Aredhel, I am ok with this". Seriously. What. Where did you learn it? Dwarves? Are Dwarves this awful? Angband thralls? Orcs?
Also, he tries to kill Maeglin on the logic of "you can't keep what is mine", which (I am sorry to everyone who will feel offended on part of their blorbo) sounds like Feanor's attitude about the Silmarils. Or worse, depending how you read Feanor. Would Feanor rather see the Silmarils destroyed and noone getting them, or see them going to the Valar? This may need a poll. ;)
Aaand he curses Maeglin too. Idril has some kind of foresight and this curse makes Maeglin sus in her eyes.
Maeglin is going strainght to the top, he's important in the city, widely respected and appreciated by Turgon. He's got a circle of friends: people like metalworking gravitate towards him. He is in the city council, and does well and wisely. He is also a brave warrior and fights in the Unnumbered tears. And does very well. He is by far not a loser.
But. He is in love with Idril (happens, especially when you have emotional trauma falling in love is random and weird and not always with the best people for you). And he never talks to anyone about it. Which is understandable with his background, but also very unhealthy. It kills him from the inside.
Idril (who is apparently also really good at osanwe) notices his love for her and is freaked out. Which is fine on both sides. Not "fine" as "pleasant" but as "no blame here". Emotional issues often lead to someone's emotions "leaking out" and being uncomfortable to be around without any actual bounduary-crossing. Just the vibe. And Elves have this much more, they have semi-telepathy! Also, Idril is under no obligation to love him back, and she does treat him politely, so no blame here either.
It will get worse, of course. On his side. But now I think it's not. also, I need English quotes.
"he loved the beauty of Idril and desired her, without hope" — this sounds as if he accepted the fact that she won't love him. Which is the appropriate reaction. Probably the only Tolkien quote, where "without hope" is a positive. Well, semi-positive. If he had some hope (or at least'; was open to the possibility) of finding another love or learning to live single, things would maybe go better. Still, this sounds like acceptance to me.
BUT
"But as the years passed still Maeglin watched Idril, and waited, and his love turned to darkness in his heart." — waited for what???
The interpratations I can think of:
Pro-Maeglin:
waited for this feeling to pass
just generally waited, as in: "he grew and stuff happenned"
waited for something to happen even though it was not possible — it worked for Indis after all, and I'm sure he knew this story — but fully passively and with no plan to do anything creepy (which I think would be an ok reaction, maybe unwise but not bounduary-crossing)
Mixed:
this sentence and the "without hope" sentence came from two different sources (both in-world and when Cristopher Tolkien complied the silm) with different characterizations of pre-capture Maeglin
Negative:
he regained "hope" (inquotes because it's a very nasty kind of amdir in this case and doesn't deserve the word) and flirted with her despite her protests, he was a creep
was even worse a creep and waited for the opportunity to "wed" Idril his father's way or worse (not only deceit but force)
had no hope for wedding but waited for revenge "if I can't have her, I will kill her" AKA his father's way again
I have no idea what the intended meaning is in here.
The "darkness" may be anything from trauma (more unprocessed emotions), through hopelessness (if I can't have Idril, I can't have anything good and y life is meaningless) to outright premeditation for rape.
Meaglin is a very ambiguous character in the text. He will get worse, but he will get worse after close contact with Morgoth, so it isn't necessarily a good measure of his personality at this stage. But there isn't one clear reading of him, at least in the text itself.
(eol is …. not ambiguous, but very ambivalent. He's got a lot of common sense! His political opinions about the Noldor are not all correct, but many of them are very on-point and better said than Thingol's. But also he's awfully sexist and violent.)
Also, no mention of Anguirel. :(
And I would love to see a connection between his unrequited love, "darkness" and the sword. This needs some HCs one day. The feelings resonating with the black blade, making it more deadly and precise. The metal cooling the feelings, making them a dark, icy thing that cannot be talked about. definitely needs a hc or fic.

i don't know how else to say this but we as a society need to stop seeing small pet death as funny. in fact, we need to stop normalising putting them in danger for our entertainment. i have owned hamsters all my life; they are such beautiful little creatures. they are so fragile that it made me so anxious for them because i cared for them. yet, movies or tv shows present hamster death as a joke somehow. this must have had a knock-on effect on people's views because i have seen so many people making fun of a dead pet on social media. i have seen so many people laugh because somebody's pet hamster died/because someone is grieving it. is it funny because you see them as small and insignificant? because a hamster is seen as a stupid, tiny creature that holds no worth? so you laugh at its death? i genuinely cannot understand it. where is the joke. i feel genuine grief for hamsters who have been put in danger or died because of neglect, just to be recorded and laughed at by the same species who domesticated them. the same species who made them pets and are supposed to look after them. yeah maybe i'm sensitive but i think i should be. how could the death of a tiny, innocent, unknowing little animal we made our pets, an animal so fragile and reliant on us, be funny.
#sorry for the random rant but this has bothered me pretty much forever :/#i started this talking about pets in general because i've seen cat death in films seen as a joke too.#how the actual fuck is that funny. like actually genuinely#i don't understand it at all#i have owned around 9 hamsters and have loved all of them. how could you want to hurt or laugh at the death of something so small and cute#maybe that's what makes people laugh. the fact that they're small and cute. to me it's unimaginable how you could laugh#i have cried at each of my hamsters' deaths. i don't care how if that makes me sensitive. i would rather care than laugh#they were little creatures who brought me joy. they just existed and i cared for them. they relied on me. how could i ever hurt them#i don't care that they would never understand being seen as something people can hurt. it doesn't mean they should be seen that way#please please . please just be normal about pets#especially small :(#not what this post is mainly about even though i did mention it a bit but. small pet abuse is not it either#tw pet death#tw pet death mention#pet death mention#< because this is triggering for me to even talk about so.#but it's important to me#rant#pets#small pets#hamsters

This might sound weird, but I looooove when animals show a type of fear towards me.
Now, it’s not because I’m abusing them or I’m rude so get that straight first. I’m not an animal abuser.
But I mean when I walk past a cat on the street and they hiss at me. Or a dog growls or whimpers…
Like it’s as if they KNOW I’m not a human. That I don’t belong here. That I’m something otherworldly. I can’t explain it well but it gives me species euphoria as otherkin people would say…
#001.txt#cotards delusion#cotards syndrome#eldritchkin#voidkin#shapeshifterkin#undeadkin#no mentions of animal abuse or anything besides a general clarification#I don’t interact with random animals on the street especially the ones that run away#cause 1) I don’t want them to attack me due to their fear /hate I guess and 2) I don’t have the resources for that

Something about how Skulduggery avoids the consequences of his actions. How he keeps on receiving divine punishment to such a degree that he’s convinced himself that it’s atonement for his crimes rather than just gods being cruel.
When he’s in the realm of the Faceless Ones, he’s so utterly convinced himself that he deserves it that he’s actually angry that Valkyrie would come and save him and force him to return to the “real” world where he has to live with all that he’s done. How she was the only person who was set on saving him while everyone else was willing to accept his loss.
In Death Bringer, he goes to fight Melancholia instead of Valkyrie because he’s decided in his head that fighting and dying to the Death Bringer in order to protect the girl he lied to made up for his deceitfulness and for all the damage he caused as Vile. Because it’s punishment. It’s what he deserves. And the only reason he doesn’t die right then and there is because Valkyrie saves him.
There are surely more examples of things like this happening to him as well, but I’m too tired to remember them right now.
I’ve talked a bit about this before, but Skulduggery HATES taking responsibility for his actions, and considering that he’s a very agnostic character, it’s interesting to see him repeatedly view punishment as something he deserves and would rather do instead of, say, admitting that what he did was wrong and accepting punishment from mortals for it.
There’s also something to be said about how it’s always Valkyrie’s responsibility to save him, even though she’s the person who causes him so much guilt. He’s not a good person, he doesn’t care if he hurts someone unless that someone meant something to him. And she means the goddamn world to him. And he spends a long time denying it, but I honestly think he’s often horrified by how much he hurts her without realizing it (think of his reaction in the scene in TFO where she only cries from her broken tooth when Kenspeckle shows concern over her) and he uses the divine torture he receives very often from protecting her as a way to sort of morally make up for it, even if it benefits neither of them.
It’s also interesting because she keeps turning into a god, and yet said god always shows no interest in hurting him because of what he did to her (yes Darquesse wanted to kill him, but that was less anger and more unhealthy obsession), even though she SHOULD feel angry.
I’ve probably said this a million times now but I think the religious aspect of their dynamic is extremely interesting and something that I have a difficult time putting into words, so I might continue trying to explain it over time. Do have patience with me, please
#is this post at all coherent#it is 1:30 am and I’m thinking about them#he suuuuuucks man. val you can do better than this guy#skulduggery pleasant#valkyrie cain#i am once again skulduggeryposting#ANOTHER ONE I KIND OF FORGOT TO MENTION#him repeatedly going up to alt vile and being injured/tortured by him#in situations he was INCREDIBLY unlikely to win#just to demonstrate that he is the morally superior of the two#and again. valkyrie has to save his ass#first time she saves him from being tortured by the alt generals#second time she has to kill vile because he failed to do so#hello. is this mic on#uhhhh puritanical christian views on morality and punishment I guess???#maybe the fact that his extremely abusive father was also hyper-religious had something to do with it. and the fact that his dad was a god#second side note that I got out of bed to write is his fucking relationship with darquesse#oh my god his relationship with darquesse#not even gonna handle that here bc that’s a whole post in and of itself#why are they like this

always thinking about how ford was always subconsciously trying to find a replacement for stan while stan was desperate for any kind of affection from anyone
#it being so egregious with dipper with both bros living under the same roof tho 😭😭😭😭#also dipper's protective nature being a lot like stan's....#stan being quick to declare rico and jorge his friends and got married to someone he knew for a few hours....#plus stan having no friends sticks out like a sore thumb 😭#him mentioning that ford was more popular than him in high school despite being horrible socially too...#(also its still so funny to me that some are mad that most assume his relationship with jimmy was abusive#like the only pic we have of the guy is him spitting on stan who looks like a pathetic wet kitten#who's baking bread for some reason in a frilly apron????)#stan's track record with people in general is pretty bad my fellow antisocial king#the town only liking him that summer after proving gideon was spying on all of them#soos not really having friends around his age either#his cousin probably likes him well enough but soos seems kinda like an ass to him lmao#still dont care for the love god ep but dipper getting along with the teens is sweet

Drake has zero problems harassing and targeting the wives and fiancé of his rivals (pusha t and Kendrick Lamar) and targeting women who once were associated with him but want nothing to do with him (Rihanna, Serena, Megan) but had to be shamed into being a father to his own son
and while he’s sitting here talking about how Kendrick being a "woman beater” and his son not being his but Dave free he’s out there being friends with that leprechaun who shot at Megan four years ago advocating for his freedom which is never gonna happen , possibly hiding an 11 year old daughter , text messaging teenage girls like a lovesick boyfriend even though he’s old enough to be their father and him being loud and wrongo about his rivals rough childhood(see the critical and commercial flop The Heart Part 6 in which f Drake claims that Lamar fixates on the topic of pedophila because of his own supposed molestation as a child, labeling this "trauma from [Lamar's] own confessions". Drake traces this to Lamar's song "Mother I Sober" off of his 2022 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, referring to the song as "that one record where you say you got molested". However, the referenced song is actually about generational trauma and Lamar's mother not believing him when he truthfully told her he had not been molested.)
so it’s a problem for Kendrick to have a successful hit making record breaking potential song of the summer and song of the year, which is a complete annihilation of Drake but it’s okay for Drake to make light of molestation, messing with his male rivals family members and children’s, being inappropriate with teenage girls and hide children and not take care of them and make light of the trauma of black folks more specifically black women traumatic experiences and hangs out with these women’s abusers and it’s all friends with them? Are you kidding me? Don’t make me laugh.
I don’t care if there’s a gummy bear, teddy bears, the bearstein bears, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Yogi Bear, polar bear, black bear, grizzly bears, mama bear , Jeremy Allen White from the TV series the bear, little bear from the children series little bear, Paddington Bear, corduroy bear, Winnie the Pooh, Bear Grylls, heck, even smoky the bear I’m choosing those bears over Drake every time because they are not a sassy immature biiich like him

details bout michael n eins dynamic. 2 me (cw physical/emotional abuse, cannibalism, suicide/suicidal idealizations, ableism, self-harm)
michael only refers to himself as eins father when he wants ein to do something, any other time hes just michael .
lets ein not refer to him as sir to make him feel more "special" .
after eins mom broke up w zack she sorta got a bit. out of it. she started neglecting ein and she became depressed. The First Step in ein distrusting others bc his mother stopped paying attention 2 him. michael used a small amount of his magic to control her and make her drown herself in the kitchen sink and then kidnapped ein, making it look like she had killed herself and ein had ran away. .
just as a small thing of me hcing ein as a transguy, michael named him ein bc the meaning of "ian" (which is what his name is just spelled weird) is "God is Gracious" as a constant reminder that michael "saved" ein. .
ein wasnt tested on w forever potions (in the early stages w the other kids) because michael absolutely could not let Zack know he had his other stupid kid. when ein found out about the testing he was extremely upset bc he wasnt "special enough" for it. picture ein 6 years old begging for medical malpractice to be used on him .
he was tested later but as a teen when michael got out, since he didnt have access to the other children. although he wasn't able to use the full potions since he didnt have access to emeralds at the moment, so he used diluted versions of the potions that weren't as powerful via syringes. ein gets a fear needles from it .
when michael n the other two idiots were locked in the pocket dimension ein went through a brief depressive period bc the One Guy he (thought) cared about him disappeared. when michael did get out he didnt tell ein immediately bc he . doesnt like ein but when he found out ein got arrested he told ein that he should stay in jail for a few months to "learn his lesson" .
slightly unrelated but when michael wanted him out of jail he also wanted ein to disappear off the radar so he faked eins death in jail. originally he wanted ein to die in like a riot but ein, sensing an opportunity, asked for it to say he killed himself instead. the opportunity being aphmau half way into her uni course looking up her old high school bullies to see what theyre up to and just finding out ein is Fucking Dead .
the potions michael uses on ein are mainly magic power related (like eins Green Laser) because he likes manipulating ein into doing things rather than using his magic because its "more fun" .
michael subconsciously views ein as his actual son (mcd travis) bc he feels like "this one is a better son" or whatever .
not a specific thing but mother knows best reprise from tangled is a Viewpoint on their dynamic 2 me .
ein is internally scared of michael but he never verbally says that and if anyone asks him if he is he denies it immediately bc he doesnt want pity. you can see it in his eyes though. elizabeth is really the only other person who mentions it but she mostly uses it to make fun of ein because she "doesnt think its that bad" (<- she is unaware) .
bc of michael ein absolutely hates unwarranted physical touch. he reacts violently if anyone grasps his shoulder from behind or touches his upper arms. the only touch he usually allows is people lightly touching his hair/head bc he still registers it as headpats (grabbing his hair usually results in him biting) .
michael usually physically threatens or abuses ein to reprimand him but sometimes he throws ein into the Metaphorical Torture Box for entertainment .
basically most of the things michael does to ein is for his own amusement .
he also heavily dehumanizes ein to convince him to do evil acts, rationalizing it to him as "you arent a person so is it really that bad??" ein does not view himself as an actual person at this point more so as a nameless soldier, a weapon, etc .
i used this for an old fic n stuff too but also michael makes ein commit cannibalism to forcibly dehumanize him more. he wants to make ein feel entirely disconnected from humanity (like michael feels for himself) so ein will basically be a "mini michael" .
ein also consciously copies michaels mannerisms/speech. only really elizabeth n zack notice it however and it just fucking freaks zack the hell out (elizabeth is also freaked out by it but mostly ignores it) .
theres just a general theme of a loss of control for ein in general. he gets a small allowance from michael and hes not allowed out overnight, all his communication is usually internally with the researchers or guardian forces. most of the time ein self isolates from them, viewing them as beneath him and michael. when they try to talk to him its a 50/50 whether he'll tell them to fuck off or he'll hiss at them .
another specific detail is pre s4 ein fucked up a potion and instead of his usual reprimand, michael used pliers to defang ein. in his head its the one thing ein can't rationalize about michaels actions (the one "seed of doubt" he has). he usually makes excuses for michael's actions towards him but being defanged is the only one he struggles with since he knows that michael knows how important his wolf side is to him .
pre s5 and just like at the end of s5 (when ein was seen on the bridge) he was going through another depressive episode bc he missed his ears and tail. he was mainly just going through the motions of his daily life but he was barely holding on. michael repeatedly discouraged ein from committing because the plan would be messed up because of it (michael said that directly to him) and he would imply that ein would be a traitor if he went through with it. .
michael actually flipped between discouraging and encouraging ein to commit to see what he would do. .
he's caught ein self-harming before, w ein attempting to either drown or smother himself. michael doesnt like doing this regularly but most of the time he lets ein hug him so he feels "comforted". other times michael just scolds him and tells him to not do it again. .
i also hc ein as a low empathy autistic (bc # me) and he used to stim very openly and loudly but michael disliked that part of him so he "trained" ein to not stim in public which just results in him being constantly overstimulated, a contributor to Ein being fucking mad all the time. hes like a hair trigger away from a meltdown at all times .
the only method of stimming ein can usually get away w is when he scratches his arms/scabs. unfortunately he doesn't trim his claws and it usually results in ein making himself bleed or reopening scars. michael has attempted to get him to stop doing this but its pretty much a compulsion for ein at this point.
#basically this all boils down to “how horrible can i make eins life before it gets too much”#the answer is never#cw physical abuse#cw emotional abuse#cw cannibalism#cw sui mention#cw sui ideation#.... do i put this in the main mystreet tag#vinny's evil mystreet thoughts#mystreet#ill do both iguess#aphmau#aphverse#mystreet ein#mystreet michael#mystreet demon warlock#mcd demon warlock#idk if i want a tag for michael n ein too.... but itd be fun. i guess#i cant think of one rn if i think of one ill edit the tags n put it here#cw ableism#cw sh mention#just as a mention: i do still think ein is responsible for his actions. he still did all those things#i just think that with The Real Devil as a guardian he probably didn't have much of a chance at being anything else#also eins fears: the ocean. needles. loneliness. abandonment. medical things in general. authority figures yelling at him

Personally I believe that a future as depicted in star trek where equal rights are guaranteed (utopian that is) will come about due to technological advances. Currently an individual who has a disability and/or disorder is usually dependent on other people who have to accommodate, support, care etc. Even the systems that we have like disability benefits, social services etc are still dependent on people. This is where most discrimination comes from because it gives other people the power to dictate our lives. Even well meaning people get compassion fatigue, caregivers burn out, not to mention the truly ill willed jerks who love to abuse the disable purely because they can. I envision technology to replace all that. Like Geordi in TNG has to depend on no one! He is completely independent because of the technology they have in future. And this is not just for physical disabilities but neurodivergent ones too. We will have adhd friendly personal androids who will help us with stuff we struggle with. Dyslexia won’t be an issue because information will be available to in different formats and if one has difficulty reading then they simply won’t have to. And no one else needs to know! Maybe we can have smart-glasses that will scan the environment and read body language and give a discrete signal to an autistic person who then has all the knowledge needed to react in a social situation. Doesn’t mean we have to behave like neurotypical but rather we will have a choice!! This choice is important. Autism won’t be a challenge if there was no more trying to fit a ‘square peg in a circle’ issue. All the positive things that neurodivergent and disabled folks brings will be truly seen and celebrated.
