Ethersea is very very good. "our bodies are choirs and we are the songs they are singing" is a quote I saw before I started listening to it and it was 1000% better in context. I however did not expect it to be in the same episode that they establish that the character who said it has a dick that is as sharp as a knife.

Your ghost vault propaganda inspired me to watch the first season in dominion and. I think Legundo irl left that vault and had a panic attack. His shivers were timbered. Viking was unhinged to exactly one person and it PAYED OFF. God damn.

NO FOR REAL ITS SUCH AN EXPERIENCE. like it's a known fact that The Voice(tm) does in fact actually scare Legundo IRL and Viking just. he's so GOOD at turning it on and off at unstable intervals

i think a lot about that scene though actually, because piglin 'Gundo is a fascinating character in his own right and is not a fully morally upstanding guy, and something i think is interesting is like. the entire time he's freaked the hell out and this doesn't exactly go away later in the scene, but i feel like you can see something just click in Legundo when Viking hands him that IOU back and it's so. gods. he goes from totally out of his depth to a lot more calm and almost a little dismissive once that IOU is back in his hands and Viking no longer has that total leverage. it's nothing short of fascinating.

just. in general. that's such a good scene. all the Ghost's Vault scenes are golden, and S2 of Dominion has some utter bangers if you're the type to backwatch VODs.

It literally starts with G heading to work on time at 9, but William comes in like "BOI YOU'RE SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY ON THE GAZETTE YOU HAVE TO CUT DOWN THE BUDGET" (Imagine this screamed directly into Geronimo's ear)

He pawned over everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in Geronimo's office, from his desk to his armchair to his carpet to his book collection to his art collection, and replaced it all with a single plastic chair and desk ("All you need in an office is a desk and chair!")

He fired ALL THE STAFF and decided that only family members will be working for the paper (because family members don't need to be paid as much probably (if at all) when working for a family business-- they all share their finances with each other, anyway maybe (it's not clear what their salaries are gonna be (wanna bet G is paid minimum wage while Thea is paid 50% of the Gazette's monthly expenses after this clean sweep))). The only person spared from the firing spree was Shif T. Paws, the Gazette's sales manager, who apparently offered to work there for free.

He delegates all the work of the Gazette to four people-- G does all the office work (taking calls, building maintenance, writing, editing, printing, clientele stuff), Thea does all the interviews and field work stuff, Trap does all the cooking, and Benjamin is "William's personal assistant". Lord knows what that last position means for little Benji. (Okay reading ahead Benjamin seems fine, but he does say that William is "a bit pushy".)

He sends G out on a work holiday thing and he overworks the crap out of everyone, to the point where even Thea is sick of William's senile old-fashioned ass, and it seems that the Gazette was also going downhill because of this mouse furry ripoff Daniel Dancer. (To give a preview of what he did in the working perspective, he basically had Trap work seven days a week)

He was planning to have staff give use old newspaper instead of toilet paper (T&B expenses), make a 30-second time mechanism for the restrooms (to maximize manpower efficiency and possible humiliation for anyone going number 2), and was considering cutting all electricity to the building and just have staff work on typewriters "just like the old days".

Hi…I’ve been rewatching The Walking Dead right? I stopped watching it a while back and dropped it at the beginning of S9. I just hit S9 on my rewatch, and I’m at Episode 15 of the season…and the last 15 minutes of the episode genuinely made me cry and feel so sick to my stomach I almost threw the fuck up. I haven’t watched an episode where I felt so emotional and intense during a scene that it gave me a breakdown. It’s been so long since I felt like that, where my heart was just pounding in my chest as the music crescendos and everything is revealed. Like it’s 2 am, I’m here hugging myself and rocking side to side…it’s that serious. They took a page clean out of Game of Thrones and executed it perfectly.

But the episode itself especially that part was phenomenally written, one of the best episodes of the series overall. The score, the tension, the intensity, the looming doom that you know is coming but don’t know how it will be done. Wow…just crazy. Check on me in the morning…I’m not okay.

Some Batman: Telltale thoughts

[this is a Batman Telltale critical post, ye be warned.]

So. There are perhaps no words in the english language to describe with how stupid i feel right now.

I started Telltale Batman because i thought that it's one of the more distinct unconventional Batman narratives that would let you have a more interesting, complex and nuanced relationship between Bruce and Joker— the game even lets you bring all of Bruce's sincere hypocrisy and sentimental selfishness to the surface and have him admit that yes, he can fight the rogues gallery because it takes a madman to know a madman; to love a madman. For a moment i geniunely thought that i can escape the everpresent shadow of DC hays code in the freakshow funhouse that is Batman comics, i thought Telltale had done something different.

But telltale's approach to The Enemy Within is so flaky and flimsy and timid at best— such noncommittal twist on themes of pain and grief. They take on a hefty plotline, "what does it take to actually fight through evil and be surrounded by it? How long does it take before your resolve and your selfhood cracks? When you lose the mask, which one did you truly lose— The ideal persona, the superhero, the crusader, or the person underneath, the casket that holds all your humanity and your heart and your hopes? How long can you stare onto the abyss before it stares onto you?" It's indeed a very Nietzsche approach to Batman— except that a good Nietzsche narrative takes a lot of intentional plot points and honesty of thought and of heart. And Telltale doesn't commit, not to Bruce's characterization, and not to any other character, and definitely not to Joker's journey in any variation of it. The existence of the Vigilante route is useless on every front; Joker is going to turn into a villain anyway, just with a different hello kitty eyeshadow palette and an extra bland consolation lollipop. No good choice Bruce makes on Joker's behalf affects anything whatsoever, and i particularly love the "community and friendship and sympathy do not help the mentally ill and all that ever works is punishment and shock therapy and confinement and loneliness" message the vigillante route puts on the table, charming charming status quo commandments from DC as always.

Telltale Batman could only be revolutionary if it had dared to break comic convention and let the vigillante route play out like Selina and Bruce's relationship always does; very grey morality, irrational, full of tension and trust, unstable, intriguing, inexcusable, irreversible, unavoidable and heartfelt, human. But we can't have nice things in batmanverse, so both Joker routes run on stuck gears and topple and fall into a predictable narrative hole that neither Bruce nor Joker can claim out of.

And on the predictable front? this story is too lukewarm to be a good time for me personally. When you get 84 Batman comics per minute every other Tuesday, all ending the same way no matter whatever the fickity happens inbetween, you have to pull no punches. This is my 53368532th Batman-with-tragic-batjokes-implications read of the week, say something new or forever hold your blue-balling silence, i dont care.

watched Eight episodes of house today yeah its kind of a problem. but also my left leg hurts and my right leg pulled a muscle when i got off the plane so im sort of limping around and i was just thinking like if i had gotten into this aged 12 i would have been So Annoying. instead of writing merlin self inserts it would have been house md self inserts. i just Know it would be 'i can fix him' ones too . can you imagine .

Tony reusing Janice's "there are a lot of things I could say right now that I'm not gonna say" when Janice is overindulging in sadness to try to gain control over the situation in the exact same way Tony indulged in anger to try to control her in the scene where she said it in the first place.... those two are trapped in mutually assured destruction where the moment Tony calls Janice on her shit she'll flip it right back on him and he'll know it's true, and vice versa, and so they're just gonna keep making each other insane until one of them dies. Which is how it always fucking works with adult children from the same dysfunctional home.

The goodbye scene is so much harder knowing Ziva is actively pregnant and what lies ahead for them. Knowing they were both heartbroken yet still allowed themselves to grow together in Israel. As much love as they had between the two of them, they knew they couldn’t leave together. Nothing that happened between them was happy, it was all goodbyes and closing chapters they couldn’t bear to leave open but we’re just as hard to close. They are truly and finally openly in love… yet time and tragedy won’t let them stay in their cozy bubble. There is so much more weight to their final words to each other and it’s too heavy for my heart to handle

SMG4 Episode idea that’s literally just a ripoff of that one Wander Over Yonder episode where Wander gets split into a bunch of clones that represent different fragments of his personality.

Mario takes the role of Wander, the rest of the Crew takes the role of Sylvia

Since it takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom instead of on a barren planet the assorted Marios are causing massive amounts of Chaos, so the Crew have to keep their more trigger-happy allies like Hal and the Guards from getting rid of them the old fashioned way

The Crew gets assisted by Smart Mario(who they’re understandably wary of after last time) and an Inkling Mario who acts a lot like Meggy and insists on being called Red

During the scene where Mario pretends to be recompleted but doesn’t have his Vulnerability yet, he’s missing the M on his hat and acting like his Season 1 self
