Also, this one is fascinating because how does one define uke? Because some of these characters might be bottoms but I wouldn't define them as ukes because ukes are typically the ones being pursued. So I've sort of been trying to figure that out and so some of these get some odd answers depending on the character. Is an uke defined as what most straight girls think of a bottom? Is an uke the character being pursued or who needs to be taken care of?

... Look, uke is an ever-evolving word, especially from when I first joined fandom. So it's very interesting!

Taekyung vs. Adachi

Adachi has to win this. I love Taekyung to death and he's my tiny gaybie but Adachi just... he's darling and small and he needs to be protected and pursued and he just... fits more of what I think of as an uke. Now, this is probably because this is a Japan (creator of the uke/seme dynamic as we know it) versus Korea (who really don't do strong seme/uke dynamics) thing rather than a character thing. Since uke really is in the relationship and not just the character...

Sky (GB) vs. Tae Joo (Eyes Linger)

It's Sky. Sky is a baby. Sky is absolutely baby. He's in need of so much love and care and protection. Although Tae Joo is close and he definitely needs it, it's in a different way. Plus, Sun is gonna take a bullet for Sky and I am an absolute sucker for that. But they're such good characters to contrast.

Pi vs. Gene

I gotta admit that I'm giving this to Gene. Now, this is because of the show. I want Gene to be taken care of by his love. I want Nubsib to love and care for Gene. I don't want Pi to be take care of. I want Pi to go be independent and pissy somewhere else without ever thinking about Mork again.

Tian vs. Pharm

Pharm had to win this. I love Tian, don't get me wrong. But Tian and Phupha have a different dynamics than Dean and Pharm. Dean and Pharm definitely lean more towards what I would consider a seme/uke relationship and, thus, Pharm wins. Also, tiny gaybie Pharm almost always wins.

ShuYi vs. Shi Lei

This is so interesting because it's Taiwan vs Taiwan and they don't do the really strong seme/uke... but yeah, it's Shu Yi. Shu Yi 100%. Shi Lei is an uke but he's not as much of one as Shu Yi. Shu Yi is such a darling who just needs so much love.

Zhao Zi vs. Si Qi

It's Zhao Zi. Look, I adore Si Qi. He's a darling. But Zhao Zi is just gaybie energy x100 alongside abandonment issues and that sunshine over sadness energy is just A+.

Meen vs. Tine

This one is hard. They're both such ukes, such little gaybies... But I like Meen more, so I'm going with him. He was the bright spot in the show where Tine was, ironically, one of my least favorite characters in his show.

Jin vs. Arthit

I had to give this to Jin. He just loved being pursued so much and all the attention and the little gifts from Bbomb just made him so happy. He couldn't help himself. Arthit just didn't quite have that with Kongpob, as much as I love them together. Different vibes.

Kit (Gen Y) vs. Wad (SOTUS S)

Kit is basically the perfect example of a tsundere uke. Like, he is the platonic (lol) ideal. And I love him for that so much. He's definitely one of my favorite characters just in general and such a little tsundere uke he has to win.

Karl vs. Gavreel

This one is a bit harder. Ugh. Like, you could claim it for either one and also argue that neither one is exactly an uke... but I'm gonna give it to Gavreel. Mostly for levels of realism. Karl is just so realistic it's hard to call him an uke.

Tutor vs. Knock

Yeah, it's Tutor. He was tough as nails but he melted so nicely under Fighter's hands and just falls apart and gets sick without him and that's just... such an uke thing, okay? SUCH an uke thing.

Mico vs. Jaime

I had to go with Mico. I love Mico. He's such a darling and absolutely radiates gaybie in need of love energy at all times and I still desperately wish that Hello Stranger the movie had given him more of a chance at the end rather than a rush.

Reb vs. Jim

... It's Reb because Jim just annoyed me mostly. Also, Reb is tiny and adorable and has that super innocent gaybie energy that makes him a bit more real but also a bit more uke. I dunno, this is what I mean about the definition of uke. It's hard to pin down for me!

Tong vs. Folk

Look, I get it, I'm the only person who preferred IttPai to PureFolk. I GET IT. Duen gets it, even if I view him as entire asexual and, frankly, more than a bit aromantic. I genuinely think he dislikes being in a committed relationship. But... uke energy? Yeah, he gives out more than Frong.

King is way more uke than Sky because Sky isn't uke at all. My Day was amazing for having such no seme/uke dynamic, yo. But King? Yeah, he's got that energy with Ram.

I'm giving it to Can despite the unconventional nature of his relationship with Tin and the maturity they show through the show. But I love Can and the want to care for him and I want to protect him. And the more I want to protect a character, the more I go with uke. (Not that I'm a seme, I'm just a sunshine puppy disguised as a person.)

Yu Zhen vs. Bunn

I feel weird but I'm definitely giving it to Yu Zhen. I gotta. I can't help myself. He's such a darling young man who just needs to be taken care of by Shi Lei on every possible level. I mean, boy still doesn't know not to eat gummies. Seriously.

“we’re boyfriends?” - ah yes another Thai BL fic, i will admit. i have NO idea where to take this story lmao. i still wanna finish it tho cuz i hate disappointing ppl. the fic starts with Ae and Pond making a dumb bet so Pond will stop jerking off in their shared room and promises that he won’t do that as long Ae dates someone random and based off of Pond’s choosing. sweet bby Pete wanders into their campus accidentally  and gets picked. Akaashi assumes that he's probably Bo's boyfriend and then leaves him alone, making Bo confused as hell. Little that he knows that Kenma is actually a grumpy calico cat.

“killugon flower shop AU” - Wing owns a flower shop and Killua helps out with Zushi along with Alluka out of boredom and one day Alluka asks Killua to help out with her client then he meets Gon and is immediately smitten until Gon says that he's looking for something that he can give to a girlfriend (it was actually Ging's request lol), lots of misunderstanding, Killua being too shy to ask the handsome stranger out and Alluka and Zushi being done with his shit 

“rice isn’t the only thing getting crushed here” - Osamu falls in love with one of his most loyal costumers—Akaashi and he thinks he might just have a shot at it until one day while Akaashi is ordering a bunch of riceballs, Bokuto Koutaro of Japan's National Volleyball team enters the restaurant and sweeps Akaashi of his feet, unexpected angst and a generous helping of unrequited pining :)) dw this fic can go two ways: Bokuto is just Akaashi's best friend who he hasn't seen in months or b. Bokuto is actually Akaashi's fiance maybe i’ll write both endings heehee

“killua is sad and gets lovebombed” - while staying in Whale Island, Killua thinks he that he doesn't deserve Gon and tries to leave him while he's asleep but his plan is stopped when Gon wakes up and they both end up revealing their true feelings for each other

“excuse to write charles getting fucked by two delicious men” - Erik and Charles have been in a relationship for years now and basically fell out of love so when Erik gets promoted and has to move, Charles agrees and so they break up. Charles turns to Logan (who harbors a giant crush on Charles) for companionship and sleep together once. Logan says it was an accident but Charles wants more and they establish a FWB situation of sorts since Charles isn't ready yet. But then Charles gets into an accident and can't remember what happened the past year and a half so he still thinks he's with Erik. Meanwhile, Erik is living a luxurious yet empty life and when he gets the call from Raven about Charles' situation, he immediately goes back running.

“killua in whale island” - KilluGon are like 20-ish and Killua visits Whale Island and Ging just happens to be there as well. Killua thinks about how even though Gon and Ging are near identical, Gon just looks so much more handsome. (probs just a oneshot) 

 “another horny cherik fic” - Charles is a demon who was accidentally summoned when Raven, Hank and Ororo uses Erik's blood to perform a demon summoning ritual (as a joke) they didn't know it would actually work so now Charles is stuck with Erik because the human absolutely refuses to sell his soul

“IwaOi overboard AU” - Oikawa is a rich pretty boy and Iwa a college dropout who works at his uncle's repair shop with his younger brother Tobio and cousin Kyoutani ( both 5 yrs old). One day he gets called over to fix one of Oikawa's cars and after a failed and disastrous encounter with a drunk Oikawa, Iwa leaves the mansion fuming. Later in the day, it's discovered that Oikawa got in a car crash that took away his memories and since Oikawa apparently lives alone, he has no one to get him. not until Iwa comes ofc and with a malicious and vengeful intent, he tells Oikawa that they're dating and live together in his crappy apartment

“dancer Akaashi” - Akaashi is a dancer, Osamu is a bartender at the bar he works at and has also been in love with Akaashi for the past two years. He doesn't confess since he knows Akaashi doesn't like romance but then enters a bright eyed cheery Bokuto who sweeps the unreachable Midnight Moon off of his feet, bokuaka but im leaning towards bokuosaaka since akaashi deserves two boyfriends

“watch me be poetically horny for Akaashi Keiji” - Akaashi is a vampire and Osamu, a skilled artist. Akaashi posing nude and delighted at how beautifully Osamu portrays him. Osamu says otherwise. 

Cherik College AU - drift by great gable.... late teens cherik... Erik being a misanthropic horny bastard and Charles a snarky piece of shit.... they get paired up for 7 minutes in heaven... turns out Charles has been ogling him for a while now..  hmmmm,,,.,. I don’t get the entire “bromance-couple” thing directed at sarawatine when they have clearly expressed their romantic affection for each other countless of times in verbal and non-verbal ways so I really don’t understand what more people want from them? Making out? A sex scene? Like what is it that still2gether lacks that these people need to cement sarawatine’s relationship as romantic? Bc right now it looks like a bunch of straight girls just wanting to watch men makeout on screen to me 🤷‍♀️

ok so I put some asks together bc apparently we’re back on this debate now lol and I don’t wanna clog the tags.

@ anons 1&2 - Maybe “romantic” was the wrong word when I answered that ask because they do embody romance for sure. I was aiming more towards the desire-aspect if you know what I mean. Obviously it doesn’t have to be like TharnType or TorFight, that would be ooc and weird to watch like you said... also desire doesn’t equal sex lol. It also has something to do with emotional intimacy and being comfortable around each other. Which they are but just,,,,, not to an extent where it feels like they’re a realistic couple sometimes you know? if that makes sense. Bc while they’re being cute with each other etc. (which I love btw), they could easily pass as a queerbaiting bromance-situation lol. 

A counter-example was the mantype shower scene. Like anon 2 said, it was perfect the way it was; there was a lot of intimacy present but without being steamy or anything. And it’s things like these that Sarawatine are missing sometimes in my opinion. 

As I said, it always depends on the type of show and the vibe of it. Sometimes the spicy stuff fits the characters and therefore the show in general, like with TT or torfight etc. For 2Gether it would feel odd if they went to that extent. But as I said, a little more closeness and casual intimacy would... be nice and would sell them as a more realistic couple.

1) About 2gether, People love to use the there’s no kissing because it’s for the “general audience” (whatever that means) line. I guess they mean it should be sexualized Which is very weird imo. Tine and his friends fawn over women all the time. They want to a restaurant where there was just women serving and that was the only reason that went was to look at them. And they wanted to join the swim team because women with bathing suits. Honestly it was quiet disgusting to me...

2)...They also love to say that people only want make out scenes. I really do not think that’s what it is for most people. For a few reasons: 1) they were VERY awkward imo they should have just had no kissing scene and 2) the untamed had nothing at all and it’s the best love story of all time lol 3) I think people just want to feel their love, intimacy, closeness because it’s a romance series right? This is just my opinion!!!!!

yes, the untamed is the best love story ever even without any of the romantic action, no fucking DOUBT. but whats different, in my opinion, between cql and 2gether is that 2gether makes sarawatine feel and seem like a broship. like,, a non-canon ship, like theyre just two bros bro-ing around EVEN IN AN ESTALISHED RELATIONSHIP, while wangxian was heavily coded and cencsored YET STILL DELIVERED THE BEST LOVE STORY EVER. im not saying that sarawatine cant be bros in a relationship and im not saying they literally need to have hardcore sex right in front of our eyes, but in full uncensored BL tv show, id expect more handholding and wholesome shit.

the sexualization and, i guess, objectification of women in 2gether is super not ok for me. when it was being released and there were scenes like that, i just skipped it because the whole thing just made me extremely uncomfortable. the whole "joining the swim club cos of women is swimwear" and the restaurant with women-only servers... yIKES.

Anyway its rly hard to follow these kind of shows/kpop bands while having brain cells because u have to experience a) fans shipping irl actors and cussing out their significant others b) being able to identify the ways directors and writers have cultivated the content for the eyes of young straight girls (be it their treatment of women or the heteronormative way romance is written) and c) interviewers asking invasive/leading questions that would make anyone uncomfortable in any other situation

hiii anon!! at the end of the day .. i hate to say it, but its all an industry. theyre making money from it. but thats one thing, and its another to have a show where the actors have very sincere and genuine views they arent afraid to openly express, no matter how "taboo" they are, like same sex marriage or identifying as being non-straight, and when the show's been crafted with thought placed into the details of everything, and practically re-writing sarawat's whole character on the show to make him a decent lad compared to the dick he was in the book (bc thats exactly what he was). yeah, 2gether's faaar from perfect, the female character's and their mistreatment being my biggest concern, but its a show that cares about its lgbt+ rep, wholly in characters like tine, sarawat and green etc.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question so thoroughly. I just kinda dumped that on you. You probably weren't expecting to spend a few hours reading 2gether either. I didn't really think they'll follow that in the series, but they're so cute in the series that I was kinda shocked when I read the spoiler.

That’s how they get you sometimes. The couples are very cute and then… Well let’s just say not everyone is well educated about the ins and outs of gay sex.

Realistically, I would tell you to take any BL novel with a GRATUITOUS pinch of salt. There are a LOT of romance tropes that are not healthy in a large swath of them, even if written recently because that’s what sells in the genre. Never mind the view towards gay sex. 

However, there’s nothing wrong with skipping over all that and loving the characters. Tine and Sarawat are both very cute and surprisingly endearing characters. There’s no shame in liking them and you are well within your rights to be shocked with something that seems so… out of place. Personally I was expecting Sarawat to try to be romantic with their first time. The current translation doesn’t have their first time and I don’t see the need to go hunting it down. I’ve seen plenty to confirm that the spoiler is probably correct, but maybe lacking some context.

Another gentle reminder that it used to be A Thing to have the bottom kind of refuse or be scared until kissed into submission, or have the top be so well endowed that it hurt until their dick hits the prostate and then suddenly anal sex is the most amazing thing ever. Other common tropes also deal with all of the above while drunk. Most of these things are dealt with A LOT better now. Definitely in fanfic for sure. 

But the most important thing is that you watch out for your mental health. If these tropes really bother you, then you’re best left not reading them and inserting your own headcanon about how it all went down. See: TinCan.

The Romance Houses Part Two(The 7th House). 🗒🎈🎎🎆

7th house: here we have a different energy. This house is often seen as the one v one house. This is the house where most of our perceptions of others come on—it’s our dc and it’s at times what we either relate to or don’t. It’s about development and how In tine with ourselves we are. “Am I to serious or is it everyone else” “do I talk a lot or do they talk a lot” “I’m not intense, they are” “who’s crying? Not me” this house is all about reflections but it’s also the unconscious you that takes center stage when things get “committal” so to speak. This is the house that’s activated before the “I do’s” it’s the house that deals with marriage but also those years that exist after the honeymoon period.

For starters the (7th house) is a dramatic house, even more so than the (5th house) mainly because it’s romantic in nature but also simultaneously platonic. We either see a marriage partner or someone we can’t stand because they remind us of ourselves. This house isn’t really about sex like the (5th house) or (8th house) it’s more about union and it’s the bridge between the beginning(5th house) and the end(8th house) so to speak.

Often times we are much different from our initial dating stages to our actual relationship stages despite these two houses being sextile. Your 5th house was fun and games but your 7th is commitment at its finest and it’s usually the time in which you decide to take the relationship seriously.

I am going to need people who view queer media to kindly use some critical thinking skills for once in your life. Like, people who think intimate scenes are the only way to indicate a romantic relationship just smack of fetishization of mlm relationships.

We have had this conversation about ATOTS and 2gether and so many people who look at these queer stories -- stories that are explicitly queer. People who are obviously MLM and they show it in their actions or just outright say it. You can tell that the SeanWhite relationship is romantically coded. Barring the fact that their relationship has a huge obstacle to overcome with White pretending to be Black and the antagonistic relationship between Black and Sean that predates the series start. But you think their relationship is a bromance?

You look at White's reaction to finding Sean in bed with Namo and think it's really about not wanting to share the bed? You read nothing into the subtext of White saying that he doesn't like people in his spot? You think that reaction is a normal thing from someone who views someone platonically?

Sean and White didn't need the kiss scene to show the intimacy of their relationship. You look at the beginning of episode 8, where White lays his hand on Sean's cheek and see that as platonic?

You're probably the same people who took Tine's slow warming up of being close to a man in a relationship as Tine and Sarawat as just friends. Or think that a slow burning romance that is more about emotional intimacy like 99% of ATOTS and call those bromances as well.

So lemme say it loud here-- queer relationships performing physical, sexually charged intimacy is not a requirement for a romantic relationship. I don't see you gremlins saying you don't get the love story in a Disney movie because there isn't a ton of physical intimacy.

Actually you don't see that criticism in straight relationships at all. So just admit you are only watching because you fetishize mlm relationships. If you wanna watch men have sex with no care about the emotional impact, PornHub literally exists???

CANDICE: She never felt out of character, in pushing Jane, but I had a feeling when J seemed so emotionally involved in her encouragement that this was more than losing a writer to Incite.

MIRI: It’s really really good writing and acting

CANDICE: Maybe it was getting a story right for readers she KNEW could hold many survivors.

But then we see truly why and it's near devastating

Y'all Melora Hardin is perfect for this character.

MIRI: It’s also a version of the story we don’t see often--someone years later, thriving but definitely still impacted

CANDICE: I watch for her just as much as our trifecta. She's compelling and much more than a boss to me.

MIRI: I LOVE her

CANDICE: Certainly! And not the story, too, of going for #alloutrevenge #diebastards

MIRI: Right--it’s not about the man/men. It’s about her

KRIS: I’m a sucker for good mentor characters

MIRI: which is really consistent with the show in general

I like that she’s a good mentor without that being her entire role in the story, too

She gets to be funny and scary and have her own shit going on and also be so supportive and not a dragon lady boss

CANDICE: Yeah! Even Richard with Kat and Jane - it doesn't feel like his reactions to their lives are coming from a superior being. He genuinely cares - about them, their jobs, and the company.

KRIS: I’m reflexively defensive of legacy media and critical of “disruptors” so I was rooting the tiniest bit for her to stay at Scarlet but everyone will feel differently about that

CANDICE: It's promising, you have another strong female editor taking Jane in, being encouraging, supportive, showing her what she's capable of and being open to letting her do big stories and grow into that bigger role.

As much as Scarlet is an anchor for Jane, stepping outside of your base of security can be exciting and take you to new levels of success. If she's not feeling satisfied at Scarlet, why not?

MIRI: I keep going back and forth between thinking she should have stayed at Scarlet and continued to grow more and thinking that this was way too big an opportunity for her to pass up

CANDICE: But, to project my own experience, is she ready? Has she been at Scarlet long enough to be sure this is the right leap - regardless of pay, perks, or prestige. It's a lot to think about.

Will she be mentored as effectively at Incite?

KRIS: That was maybe one of the most “TV-ish” things, the idea that this few months has suddenly made Jane into The Next Big Thing

MIRI: Although that may be something they intend to explore if they get another season!

MIRI: because as much as I want them together, they have had like 1 3/4 dates and that’s not enough to build something solid on!!!

KRIS: Part of me expects a fast-forward to Kat coming back from her trip at the beginning of (fingers crossed) season 2

It’s also hard to imagine this show without gatherings in the fashion closet

CANDICE: I think Adena would be supportive, there's stories to be had, too, of Kat running a travel vertical at Scarlet either via social media or under a separate medium.

But I think they have been deliberately moving towards apartment scenes as season one progressed, so it wouldn’t be AS MUCh of a lurch to lose them for a while

KRIS: I also really liked the detail more than once in dialogue that they borrow clothes from it, whether that’s intended to explain their TV-level wardrobes or not

CANDICE: A nice justification, too, for maybe some of the more sophisticated pieces we've seen these moderately-paid ladies wear.

KRIS: Yeah, I like to think it’s more likely we’d see stories about journalistic solidarity, especially since they’ve gone ahead and explicitly made Trump part of the world

MIRI: While we’re on the subject of woke-ness, I’d also like to see a better/wider discussion of race in season 2

CANDICE: Could even have a line with Kat, should she be outside the US, getting reactions to our country.

MIRI: Ooh, yes to that!!

CANDICE: How every USA-centric of me, alas.

KRIS: But I could totally see that

CANDICE: Agreed, Miri. We've talked about this before - Kat's arrest...

MIRI: Yes, exactly--we talked about it last week but I think it bears repeating here

CANDICE: Not everyone's story should be one of prejudice and persecution...

CANDICE: But there was a naive quality about Kat in that moment that felt...honestly untrue to Kat, in addition to what I expected to see from the writers.

KRIS: TOTALLY agree

CANDICE: I can't really sit here and demand a specific experience - because I can never fully relate, but something felt off and overlooked.

MIRI: Kat’s blackness is basically never a part of her characterization, even when stories specifically feature racism or microagressions (I believe our friend Jess pointed that out to me)

KRIS: I got what they were going for with having Adena lay out how big a deal the deportation risk was, but still

CANDICE: She has very well-off parents, and my god what a world for her to apparently have not had to deal with much...

MIRI: I also think there’s an interesting facet of privilege to be examined--Kat is a WOC, but also a wealthy, attractive one. Looking at how that has that changed her experience compared to other black women would be interesting

But a) they don’t seem to be doing that

CANDICE: However, her own experience seems "missing" rather than "minimal"

MIRI: and b) exactly what you just said

CANDICE: Yep

KRIS: Right, and on some level I also get the appeal of, I guess, “aspirational” world-building, which is generally my own preference in writing, but hard to juggle with the real-world-ness of this show

CANDICE: You can only give the excuse of -having little script real estate to work with- for so long....

MIRI: I wonder if they didn’t write Kat to be black--they may have kept her ethnicity (or all three!) open and not written in any particular direction, whereas Adena was very very specifically written as a lesbian Muslim

CANDICE: Hmm... maybe in the pilot, at least.

KRIS: So I know this is not an original observation, but I do think it’s kind of funny and kind of great that the biggest suspension-of-disbelief thing the show asks of us is to accept that everyone is Emotionally Mature and conflict-averse, at least most of the time

CANDICE: I could easily hear Kat pitched as she is, too.

MIRI: And they definitely have Things to Say and write (quite well) to those things, but I think we can agree that that kind of consideration isn’t present in all of Kat’s stories. It feels like a lack of realization that those moments would be omnipresent, not just in big Story Moments

KRIS: Right, feels like an all-white-writers-room situation

(although I haven’t looked up their staff makeup!)

CANDICE: Iiiiii don't believe Kat is emotionally mature.

MIRI: I think from photos I’ve seen it’s not all white, but pretty white

hii, so i wanted to say this and see if you agreed, considering how much you know of 2gether and its fanbase. what scares me the most about people calling the show queerbating or being annoyed that they didnt kiss or hug at the end is the fact that if we do get a second season, the crew of the show will probably try to appease them and add unnecessary stuff that will make the show less about feelings and first loves and all that romance and symbolism and it will lose some of its significance.

hiii!!! urm. honestly i’m not even too sure whether we’re getting a s2? there’s just .... not enough content for a whole season. there’s only going to be one special book thats coming out this summer with 5 chapters in it. in 2gether, one episode would usually cover 2-3 chapters worth of material.

so ..... yeah. at the most, we’d only get something a la ourskyy style, unless the writers choose to fill in and write their own stuff in, just like what happened in episode 11 with the forest scene. 

but urm. yeah. idk. see, the first trailer got so much backlash from the fans, that eventually they scrapped whatever the first trailer showed and made 2gether become a softer romcom. they took that fan backlash on board.

so urm. yeah. idk ... maybe they would take it into consideration? if something like a season 2/ourskyy style thing happened? it also depends on the source material too in a way, and how that bonus 5 chapter book is written and what it includes. 

like one classic example i can give you, is where in the novel, there’s a scene where tine initiates a kiss, and asks sarawat whether they can have sex. sarawat says no, bc tine had classes the next day, but tine took that as rejection. on the show, this happened in episode 12. but instead of them showing tine initiate a kiss and ask sarawat for something more, they completely changed it over, where instead, tine asked sarawat if whether they could record a video of them 2 jamming out and singing, but wat said no, bc it was late and tine wasn’t feeling well. 

now, some fans weren’t too bothered by that, but some fans? did not like that one bit and voiced that out, bc they felt that that would have hit a lot more harder for tine. which, i do kinda agree with in some way. like that really would have ... really hurt tine a lot more.

so ... yeah.

I have not kept it secret that I love Them Robert Higginson, and I have not kept it secret that he is by far, the world’s best Kisser –you will have to the my word on that.   In fact, he is the subject of an essay I have just written:

In the meantime, this 63-year-old woman is fatigued waiting for Thomas Robert Higginson, although I wanted to, and I am now talking to a man, Mike, promising so far.  This multiracial woman with only her natural hair, no weave, no extensions, and never a relaxer,   

  The only problem with Mike is his height! He is six foot six! and I am four foot eleven –what an odd combination we will be! We met on your tube where he left comments on one f my videos, and that comment led to lengthy conversations, and, well, like any normal man, he too likes my appearance –even Thomas  Robert likes it, although he is careful not to admit it.  I think I scared him off with honesty; too much honesty…

I made this dress by hand, in the dark to try to gain even a smidgen of understanding about what it may have been like as a literate SlaveGirl in Tennessee in the 1850’s.  Remove what most seem to think are the most egregious problems of slavery, beating, illiteracy, respect, and beauty, femaleness, you get at the root of the problem:  you do not own yourself.

Well on this video , Mike left comments, and I replied to hs comments and things took off from there.  I do not know where any of this is heading.

  Clearly a danger of becoming involved with me is that I might write about you, but only if I like you, and we have some sort of chemistry.  I had instant chemistry with Thomas Robert Higginson.

  Instant.

  Anyway, Mike has not sent me a, well, “dick pic” –and I am glad as too many men have used such  pics to introduce themselves to me, and that should not be your calling card, even if you are was proud of it as Thomas Robert both was and should be, but it was the way Thomas Robert Higginson  did everything that he did that makes being with him so memorable.  Even if I had such a photo (I don’t); when he called me so that I could see his goods,  his package, he had me promise not to photograph him in his “erect glory” –sometimes I wish I had; but he didn’t want me do and I didn’t;  even if I had it, I would never post it, but that is somethingI will never have.  I loved those conversations with him in the middle of the night.  Sometimes he called me just so that he could look, and I was happy to show him whatever he wanted to see.  But this took time.  Years, to be honest.    I have that much respect for his wishes, but every now and then,, I wish I had such a photo just to look at it.  I used to call him ��Roberto” and when we parted company in Chicago, he had given me —dare I say it?— a dildo that he named “Roberto”  –but ain’t nothing like the REAL thing!

  Of course, I allowed Thomas Robert Higginson to see whatever he wanted to see of me, and he did want to look, what heterosexual man wouldn’t want to look?  Thomas Robert looked and was pleased.  Did he take photos? I don’t know, and I am not about to ask him.  But, I kind of hope he did.

  The day will come when I will be with another man and not with Thomas Robert Higginson, although when my son saw us together performing in Detroit, my son told me he had never seen me happy with a man.  But you don’t realize what that means, that my son saw me happy with him, and I was happy with him every moment, even those dark moments when we were upset with each other, but we both said that we experienced the highest highs and the lowest lows with each other.  I had something so rare and precious with him, 30 years of Thomas Robert Higginson, and I do not take any one of those moments for granted. What a precious love I had wth him (we had many conversations in music) and ehr his another perfect song:

Now, I could hardly care about color; if I did, or rather if my parents did, I would not even exist.  “Race” is a coincidence of birth.  And I haven’t Kissed Mike yet, but I have to, oh, he is few years younger than me, born when I was seven years old.   Once I see Mike in person, there may be much to say.

I am keeping possibilities open, but f anyone  is interested especially among my Fb friends, now is the time to act, before anything happens between Mike and I.  

  I will not see multiple men, and for me, the Kiss is everything; that’s how it was with Thomas Robert Higginson; once we Kissed here wasn’t anything that I wouldn’t do.  Yeah; it was like that.

        I don’t say the to embarrass him, just to tell the truth.  I want to be Kissed the way he Kissed me; that’s all I want; the kiss has to be right, and maybe Mike can Kiss me the way I must be Kissed.   If not, men who are single and any color or race should let me know, now while I am trying to untangle myself from Thomas Robert Higginson, not because I don’t love him, but because I do.   Because everything was perfect with him, and I do not want less.  The litmus test is the Kiss, which will all me all I need to know.

  Of course, at the moment I still Love Thomas Robert Higginson, and I realize I always will, but just as he said he had a special new place in his heart for me, he will always occupy a special place in my heart.  So many firsts wth him, including the first time I have ever truly been in love with a man.   Imagine that!

There are stars that burst onto the scene as ready-made sex symbols, and then there are the slow-burners; the adorably gawky teens who blossom slowly but surely, so that one day their hotness suddenly hits you. Dev Patel is one of those. Sure, he's been cute since his Skins days, but his tour for Lion has proved he's a bonifide hearthrob.

Let's examine his growing hot-ness in pictures…

In 2007, Dev hit our screens as Anwar in Skins, the awkward one of the gang who was desperate to lose his virginity.

He also had a thing for Star Trek.

Then in 2009, he emerged us a the unexpected success story of the show's cast, scoring a role in Oscar-nominated Slumdog Millionaire.

Playing sensitive Jamal Malik, he had us blubbing in the cinema and helped the flick win a string of awards.

His dance moves were on point. You go, Dev.

And he clearly won Freida's affections too, as they became Hollywood's cutest new couple.

The funnyman was clearly a great boyfriend, even if he wasn't the smoothest…

In fact, he even said so himself when he discussed starring opposite his next gorgeous movie co-star Tine Desai in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Discussing his approach to romance in 2012 he told Vulture: "Somehow I'm romancing loads of beautiful women, but it doesn't feel like my world. The thing is, I am a loving person. I am super sappy when it comes to romance. But I'm not the Antonio Banderas, swashbuckling, Pierce Brosnan, smooth-talking type.

"Maybe I'm endearing because I'm persistent? Maybe that's the key. It's all persistence, baby! Don't take no for an answer. And the age that I'm at, men are really driven by that, by love. The day I win an Oscar and have to give an acceptance speech — because I think about that! I look in the mirror and wonder what would bring my loved ones to tears with that speech — but it is about love." What a sweetheart.

And then came the facial hair in 2015, and our interest piqued.

THEN, we noticed those shoulders and BAM, it hit us: Dev. Is. HOT. So. HOT.

The floppier his hair has got, the more we fancied him.

And don’t even get us started on Dev starring in his new movie, Lion. Between tears we were in awe of his face, and wishing we were his on-screen girlfriend Rooney Mara.

His on-screen mum Nicole Kidman just cannot keep her hands off him on their red carpet tour and we don’t blame her.

She’s not alone though – any woman near him is like putty in his hands right now.

Especially once they've clocked his adorable friendship with his on-screen mini-me, Sunny Pawar.

Our hearts hurt.

This guy summed up our feelings about the cutest moment of the Golden Globes perfectly:

But it all got too much to handle when we saw Dev at the 2017 BAFTAs.

The cutest part? He still doesn't know he's making women everywhere fall at his feet. Take his Best Supporting Actor speech at the BAFTAs for proof: after graciously accepting his award and giving a shout out his family for being his "driving force", he thanked both 4-year-old Sunny and "my amazing team who had the insane task of trying to make this Indian dude; this noodle with wonky teeth, a lazy eye, and floppy hair to work in this industry."

What. A. Guy.
