Hey, I wanna talk about how we do fandom! I've come to realize that I, personally, tend to differ from many others in that I highly prefer to only engage with a text as it's written, so I don't tend to really like fanon/extremely ooc characterizations and I find it hard to get invested in ships that aren't canon. My way of doing fandom isn't better or worse than anyone else's, but I am curious about how much of a minority I'm in! So:
*We've all seen ships of characters not from the same media and stuff like shipping the concept of ennui with the color blue, okay, I'm asking what you, personally, find compelling!
#i will ship any random thing that tickles my fancy#crossovers#people who never interacted#people who have interacted but clearly hate each other#people who have no chemistry bc i personally like the look of them together#if i find it enjoyable i'll write or read it#i don't need for it to be canon and 9 times out of 10 i won't like how they handle a relationship i want to see canonically anyways#unless it's romance media then usually they handle it okay

I'm as grateful for cellphones as the next person, but sometimes I think about how everyone having a phone on them at all times really did cause us to loose some things as a society. I mean - for example, kids these days will never experience their car breaking down and needing to find the nearest place with a phone they can use. They're never going to have the opportunity to tentatively approach a house only to discover that it's full of queer people having a party hosted by a transvestite to celebrate his creation of a sex homunculus, stay the night, and loose their virginity while unintentionally partaking in cannibalism. It's tragic, that kind of gay sexual awakening just doesn't happen these days because of cellphones.

If you're American will you reblog this with where you grew up and wether or not they had sixth grade camp. I grew up in southern California and every class in sixth grade would take a field trip and go to a camp for a week and this is absolutely bewildering my wife cause she's never heard of sixth grade camp

Random Peaceful Property aside:
idk about Thailand but in indigenous Korean and Diné (Navajo) religious traditions, near-death experiences are prerequisites for the mystical gifts of spiritual leaders, so I appreciate the representation of this aspect in Peaceful Property with Peach and now Home.
..and, it’s not a requirement, but there is also an association in both above traditions (as well as ancient Viking practices among others) of spiritual insight with queerness and gender deviance…

I'm sorry. I really am sorry. And I'd like to thank you too. Because what you do for me means the world to me. Are you drunk? No, I'm not … Yes, I am. But, I'm not saying it because of that. I really do want to apologize.
