My name is Amanda. I am 25 years old. I’ve always been a plus size woman. I’ve been bullied, ridiculed, and body shamed my entire life. I developed a severe anxiety disorder and social phobia, conquered it, then regressed. Now, I am working on my mental and physical health while moonlighting as a psychology student at my local university. I am always interested in making friends, so feel free to contact me. Where I’ve been for the past 2 years...
Hello, everyone. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here and I figured I would get back into the swing of things by explaining where I have been and what’s been going on in my life.
If you followed me before, you know that I have had many issues throughout my life involving weight, bullying, and my mental health (severe anxiety and depression). I had conquered my anxiety and depression and was on the right path to getting my physical health on track. Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad fall while hiking and it set me back quite a bit. Both physically and mentally.
I had my accident in the summer of 2015 and since then I have had two spinal surgeries and could possibly need a third. I am trying very hard to avoid a third. Before my surgery, I was able to walk with assistance, but I had lost the feeling in my right leg due to nerve damage. I still have some nerve damage which causes my leg to go numb occasionally and I still have some problems with bending and lifting, but overall, I am doing much better as far as that goes.
Because of this accident, I regressed on everything. I gained literally every pound back that I had lost. Gaining the weight back caused me to spiral back into a deep depression and I started having panic attacks again when having to speak to anyone that wasn’t immediate family.
Instead of turning more to an online community when I started having these problems, I hid away from it all. I stopped logging on tumblr or posting on facebook/instagram/snapchat. Instead, I became the person that scrolled through everyone else’s lives and watched myself get even more depressed over the things I couldn’t or wouldn’t let myself have. And now here I am trying to change that...again.
So, that’s where I have been the last two years and I hope you will follow me into the future and join me in this journey of changes. We all have successes and failures and sometimes the failures are not anyone’s fault, but we have to get back up and keep going, even if we didn’t get up immediately.

Stephen Colbert pens hilarious and important feminist op-ed
Who runs the world? If Stephen Colbert could have his way: women. In an op-ed for Glamour magazine, the future Late Show host pushes for equal rights and treatment of women in the workplace and the media, all while mixing in a healthy dose of humor. But despite the hilarious jokes, his extended quotes make some incredibly crucial points.

So yesterday at the gym, I went around 6pm, which I don’t normally do because it was super crowded as I suspected. Anyway, there was this old man there, who kept deliberately walking extremely close to me/very nearly touching me, staring at me intently while I was using the leg press and quad extension machine, walking very slowly by me, and all around making me feel uncomfortable. So I said something to him, and my brothers were there and stepped in as well. I was thinking about a question I got the other day about dealing with creeps at the gym, and that is exactly what you do: don’t take their bullshit. You have every right to be there as them. If someone is making you feel uncomfortable, say something or tell someone at the gym. Never settle when someone is doing something to compromise your well being.
