Are you named after anyone

Nope! Well, first name no, middle name yes. My first name is an accident as the parental units hadn't decided on one by the time I was born. My mum was tired of being read name lists at some point and that was it then. Happy accident. :D

2. When was the last time you cried?

Uh. Today, when I got a bit overwhelmed. I'm pretty emotional at the moment, crying is good for you. 🤷‍♀️

3. do you have kids?

Nope and don't plan any either. I like kids...if I can give them back at the end of the day.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

I probably should more often and tune down the snark in turn.

5. what sports do you play/have played?

I used to play volleyball way back when but stopped due to knee issues (and not being very good in the first place).

6. what is the first thing you notice about someone?

That's not really something I thought about a lot so far. Body language, is my guess. Whether they appear genuine.

7. what’s your eye color?

Blue to blue grey to blue-green, it depends a lot on the light I'm told.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy Ending all the way!! I don't like jump scares especially and need to be in the mood for psychological horror.

9. Any special talents?

Digesting large amounts of information and distilling it down to the necessary bits. I guess? Otherwise, no.

10. where were you born?

In the hospital two towns over, I'm not sure why they picked that one.

11. what are your hobbies?

Writing, when the muse is talking. Long, meandering walks on my days off. Testing new restaurants with friends when visiting.

When traveling: Walking around the city I'm visiting.

No :(

5'5

14. favorite subject in school?

History, Biology (been a while 😅)

15. dream job?

Like....if I didn't have to earn money to live? Tester for train routes. XD Combined with traveling author, possibly, lol. Maybe 3-6 months a year. Or what I'm doing now but with greatly reduced hours.

If I have to keep earning a living I'm pretty happy with what I do, generally speaking.

hi there i had a question about chapter 1111 i saw a lot of different translations of pages 12 to 13(?) where the gorosei are asking the giants "who do you think that guy is?" and threatening to erase them. from history. did you notice anything unusual about those lines?

yes! there’s a few things here. the most interesting to me is the line immediately preceding warcury asking if the giants understand who luffy is. he addresses them as 因縁深き者達/innenbukaki monotachi, which is like- innen is ‘fate’, and bukaki here is some version of ‘deep’. i suppose it’s like referring them as ‘you/people who are deeply connected by fate/destiny’? that’s at least how i read it. i wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it, and most translators seem to have been kind of uncertain as well, because i’ve seen several different interpretations.

and then i understand the line from saturn that follows was translated differently between the scanlations and the official. saturn says sou yobareteru uchi ni, tsubusaneba naran! sekai no rekishi kara na!

そう呼ばれてる内に/sou yobareteru uchi ni is literally "while you say so"- as in, '[while/so long as] you refer to him as 'your friend''. that's the main source of the inconsistency in translations here, because it means you could read the sentence as "so long as you align yourself with him (by calling him your friend), we'll have to crush you out of this world's history" OR as "we'll have to crush you/him out of this world's history before you call him something other than 'your friend'" (presumably nika/joy boy/whatever).

i think the official went with the second because the use of uchi lends a sense of urgency to the line- sort of like ‘we have to act on this now before the situation changes.’

Zum Anderen ist es @theoniprince mit ihren Fanarts zu "Ghost - Nachricht von Leo" und natürlich mit Adam und dem Pinguin, die mich immer noch zum Lachen bringt, aber total süß ist!

Das sind die Fanarts, die mir persönlich viel bedeuten, aber es gibt noch eine Menge an Fanarts, die ich toll finde. Ich versuche mich im Folgenden mal an einer Aufstellung von Tumblr-Accounts, die bereits Tatort Saabrücken Fanart gemacht haben. Diese ist nicht vollständig und in der aufgeführten Reihenfolge nicht wertend.

Da Fanwork auch davon lebt, dass man sich gegenseitig empowert, würde ich mich freuen, wenn die Tumblr-Bubble auch noch andere Fanartists aufführt, die ich hier vergessen habe.

In a battle of blades, clearly Maedhros would win against Bilbo, and possibly also in a straight popularity contest, given that Maedhros would be able to get the crowd riled up with a wild Feanorian speech. None the less, I predict that Bilbo will win, through simple kindly acts like the gift of a bag of potatoes to the poorer hobbits, and also by writing a banging song about Maedhros's father that will give everyone an eye-opener.

I could have made a much longer list. (Who couldn't have?) But I guess that the crew of problematic faves listed here is pretty representative of what I love in characters (and people) generally:

Loyalty, kindness, intelligence, general competence, protectiveness, ability to manipulate others when strictly necessary, a certain degree of emotional unavailability/trauma/the kind of wisdom that life inevitably teaches you if you stick around long enough, the ability to take responsiblity for one's mistakes and most importantly personal itegrity i.e. having a moral compass that does not waver even in the face of adversity.

I think I might make a Neocities website!!

I’m really excited about this! I started making a website for fun on my own computer and I kept thinking “I wish Geocities still existed so I could host this online.”

And then I remembered @rekishi-aka (I think) telling me about Neocities a while back, and I was just browsing the websites that they host and it looks so much fun- so many of them look just like websites in the 90s and early 2000s. People can get creative and put whatever they want on their website and style it however they want. And I mean from the ground up. I can just put all my code in there that I already developed myself and build it that way. I think they also offer templates if people aren’t as tech savvy.

I hope this kind of creativity really starts coming back to the internet.

Are you named after anyone

Yes!

My first name is derived from the place where my late maternal grandpa was born. He suggested the name sneakily and no one noticed until it was too late. I love him so much :D

And my middle name comes from my fraternal grandmother. I never got to meet her because she died a few years before I was born, but I think it's very appropriate. She suffered from depression as far as we can tell (rural area in the 80s) and I'd like to think that she's watching over me so I can make it

If allergy tears count then yesterday :D

3. do you have kids?

unfortunately not

No?!?!? What on earth would make you think I do???

I used to do volleyball and football, which I loved but also greatly sucked at :D

Now I mostly stick to stuff I can do without a team so no one has to suffer my lack of athleticism
