Can you write an Lody endgame analysis
This is a very interesting ask to me for many reasons. I have only ever watched the show, in its entirety, once. And I only did it to see how close I was to it after writing the majority of The Suite Adult Life. When I was a teenager, my grandmother said to me, "a good writer can take something they don't want to write about and turn it into something they do." I've kind of lived by that since. Did I want to write a Z&C fanfic? No, I did not. Did I want to write something that would aid me through the grief I was experiencing? Yes I did. And voila! TSAL was born.
So, I'm going to answer this, but it won't be in the way it is requested. This will be split into two parts. The first is addressing the characters directly and the second will be addressing the tropes the characters represent.
Lody...
The pairing of Cody and London within the Suite Life universe was never a possibility. This is for a multitude of reasons. The first, and the most important, is that Brenda Song, the actress of London is five years older than Dylan & Cole Sprouse. When the pilot aired it was just before Brenda's 17th birthday. The twins were thirteen but they played the ages of eleven (because they were so small). By the time the twins were of an age where any romantic storyline could be portrayed it would literally be breaking the law. The law of consent in California is 18. Disney, being the family oriented network that it is, would never cross that line.
Another example of this is Zack's crush on Maddie. Ashley Tisdale is seven years older than the twins. The show does a wonderful job addressing how such an age difference is inappropriate (even though they are only supposed to be three years apart - Maddie is in high school and the twins are in the 5/6th grade). Zack tries to flirt, she always turns him down.
Disney channel shows are not very complex and overall continuity in sitcoms were still a relatively new thing. Speaking of continuity, a little factoid that doesn't get mentioned is that London is twenty-one when she finally graduates high school. She and Maddie are the same age. Maddie, from what we can discern does graduate high school but London, due to her absences and lack of comprehension of the material continues to get held back. (In the series finale, London learning Spanish is an homage to the play The Miracle Worker about Helen Keller. "Aqua?" refers to Helen Keller learning how to speak and her first word is "Water?") So, with London being able to legally drink and the other students of her class being younger than the legal age of an adult definitely makes this problematic.
These legal issues are why actual teenagers are never (if rarely) cast in teen dramas like Riverdale. The actors being adults allows for the showrunners to explore situations and themes that teenagers get themselves involved in but without the legal consequences.
Because of this, London was never coded to be endgame with any of the other cast. It was morally, ethically, and legally wrong to even chance going down that path.
The Beauty and The Nerd...
However, if the characters were adults (during college for example) then this formula is time-tested and generally approved of. You have a character who is not very bright academically, but smart in their own way. They generally have a street smarts about them or they have been exposed to a social climate that the other has not. And then you have the quintessential "nerd". The person who is ranked first in the class, has hobbies that are considered "weird" and the like.
The reason why these two characters work is because on the surface they seem like opposites. The "dumb" one is attractive and the "nerd" is ugly (even though they never actually are). One is into what people consider "superficial" and the other is into "science" or academically challenging subjects. But that's about where it ends. Because when you look past these trivial issues, you see that the two characters are considered outsiders. They are either misunderstood by their peers or they are isolated from them for various reason. And because of that shared ostracization they are able to find common ground. They are able to change and grow to fit in with society better and expand their worldview thanks to the other has brought (an example of this is Penny and Leonard from The Big Bang Theory).
If we apply these two tropes to the characters of Cody and London we can see how, in other circumstances, the writers might have put them together and why. Cody and London basically grew up together so they have a history. London might have a mean streak she is not a mean girl and the same with Cody. Cody is kind of a dick when he gets older, leaning too much into his ego, but he still has a kind heart. He doesn't have the mass appeal that his twin does, but he does have an endearing quality about him. The same with London. London is portrayed as "very dumb". She does things that make no sense (because they are mostly written for comedic effect) but she has an affinity for animals and is incredibly sharp when it comes to them, fashion, and business. Overall, the pair compliment each other quite nicely. They would certainly have their conflicts but nothing that would be so detrimental to a relationship to end it.
Conclusion...
In conclusion, there's no evidence to support a "Lody" endgame theory. They were never written to be romantic interests to each other for many reasons. So, the writers never inserted any clues in the background or dialogue to support the pair. However, if you do what I did, which was age them up ten years, and put them on more equal footing, it's easier to create a narrative with the tropes they represent.
As for any other alternative pairings within the show, because of the age of the actors and the network it was on, the show was very straightforward with its intent. Best friends are best friends, romantic interests are stated at the beginning, etc.

The Shouldn't Waste Your Pretty Face Playlist
The long anticipated (cough, cough - or the thing I promised myself I would make before posting but then got impatient??) playlist to Shouldn't Waste Your Pretty Face! Enjoy and if you're interested, below the cut are my reasons for putting each song into the playlist and what I think each represents in the story.
Head Above Water by Avril Lavigne – “My life is what I’m fighting for”
When this story starts, Nolan is overwhelmed and scared and desperate to make his hockey dream a reality. All of his energy is focused on making sure he does everything right because his life in hockey depends on it.
Gasoline by Halsey – “Do you tear yourself apart to entertain like me”
This song was my anthem while writing this story. There were so many lines in this song that I debated making the title but given the themes of this story I felt like ‘shouldn’t waste your pretty face’ was the perfect epitome of Nolan’s struggle. The world hates it when we don’t fit into their boxes.
LOST BOY by Troye Sivan – “I say I want to settle down, build your hopes up like a tower”
This is Isaac’s song. Or it’s the song of Isaac and Nolan and the constant push Nolan feels to surrender to this sweet boy with kind eyes and a gentle smile and the equally constant pull he feels of knowing that their dreams of the future don’t line up and he needs to get out now.
Friends Don’t by Maddie & Tae – “They don’t hear each other’s names and forget to concentrate”
I struggled somewhat to find the best place for this song within the chronology of this playlist because honestly this song is just the entire beginning of TK and Nolan’s relationship. This almost immediate connection that always edged a little too close to ‘not just friends.’ And the absolute roller coaster of emotions it brings for Nolan as his feelings for TK grow and bubble up under his skin.
Good as You by Kane Brown – “You’re more than just the surface, you got the heart of gold”
Oh, the fight. Stories just aren’t the same without at least a little bit of drama. Losing TK as a consistent touchstone in his rookie season quickly morphed into unbearable for Nolan. Recognizing that a lot of his own bullshit hurt someone who has been nothing but an absolute gentleman to him was just the bridge Nolan needed to cross to begin to find out who he really is. This fight is the first turning point into Nolan’s transition to becoming who he’s really meant to be.
I Like Me Better by Lauv – “I knew from the first time; I’d stay for a long time”
Nolan’s friendship with Nico is a really important part of this story. Nico is the first person who truly gives Nolan permission to be himself, to explore all his angles in the comfort of a safe space.
Numb by Linkin Park – “All I want to do is be more like me and be less like you”
Nolan’s mom played a much larger role ‘on-screen’ in the first iteration of this story. In the final draft she is the constant, omnipresent ‘villain’ but doesn’t get as much airtime. However, this song was so, so important to keep in the playlist. This probably reveals that I’m someone who came of age in the early-aughts, but this song was my angsty anthem as a teen. The constant fight of wanting to be different than what your family expects of you. So, chronologically, I’ve put it in roughly where we ‘see’ his mom for the first time, but it’s an applicable song throughout the story.
Sucker by Jonas Brothers – “You’re the medicine and the pain, the tattoo inside my brain”
The theme song of Nolan’s second heat. The moment he realizes that he can clock TK’s scent in a crowded bar, the moment he lets TK cut his strings and give him exactly what he needs. That moment, after, when he’s tangled in the sheets with TK and knows that if he could, if he wasn’t broken, he’d want this every moment of his life.
Silver Lining by Mt. Joy – “Wear your silver lining, wear it close to your skin”
Is this really a Nolan Patrick story without a Mt. Joy song in its playlist? No. No, it’s not. So here is Pretty Face’s shameless inclusion of a Mt. Joy song in its playlist. It also happens to be my favorite Mt. Joy song and a perfect fit for the metaphor that clothes play in this story.
homecoming queen? by Kelsea Ballerini – “But what if I told you the world wouldn’t end if you started showing what’s under your skin”
I really debated if this song had a place in this playlist or the playlist for TK’s story. In the end I think it fits both and so this is my secret, easter egg that hints at a bit of what TK’s story is going to be about. Think – first verse is Travis, second verse in Nolan, and the chorus sums up the entire message of both of their stories.
Adore You by Harry Styles – “Honey, I’d walk through fire for you just let me adore you”
THIS IS TK’S SONG AND YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE. TK one hundred percent believes that one of the most important things he’ll ever do in this life is adore Nolan and make sure he knows how amazing he is. In terms of actual story moments, I always think about this song during the scenes with the courting presents.
HEAVEN by Troye Sivan, Betty Who – “So if I’m losing a piece of me maybe I don’t want heaven”
Can you tell I really like Troye Sivan? I really like Troye Sivan. I always really connected with the lyrics in this song. In particular, this song makes me think of the scene right at the end of Nolan’s last heat of the first season and they’re in the Brooklyn hotel room and TK grabs the end of Nolan’s braid, tugs it, and tells him that it looks good.
Voices in My Head by Ashley Tisdale – “All the voices in my head always try to break me”
As the summer after Nolan’s rookie season starts to bleed into late July you begin to see Nolan’s shift towards owning his thoughts, feelings, and emotions. He’s beginning to recognize that the fucked up voices in his head are just the expectations society put on him and that they don’t necessarily reflect his own thoughts and desires.
Scars to Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara – “And you don’t have to change a thing, the world could change its heart”
This is my Maddie Patrick song. Even though many characters throughout this story remind Nolan that there isn’t anything wrong with his true self, Maddie is such a critical person in this regard. She grew up in the same household as Nolan and knows the bullshit he received. She’s the one that constantly reminds him of the patriarchy and bodily autonomy and the importance of owning yourself. And that it’s the world that needs to change, not him.
Brave by Sara Bareilles – “Maybe there’s a way out of the cage where you live”
This song is essentially representing Nolan’s journey to getting his tubes tied, after finally allowing himself to admit out loud what he’s always known – his body doesn’t fit him perfect and it’s time for him to change that.
Worship You by Kane Brown – “Every time I see you smile it’s like I’ve seen the light”
Would it be the soundtrack to TK’s love confession if it wasn’t country music? Or Kane Brown? I feel like TK would like Kane Brown. I feel like TK just wants to spend his whole life worshipping Nolan and reminding him of the miracle he’s giving TK by loving him back.
Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie – “I want to live where soul meets body”
And here we are at the end of Nolan’s journey where he has two tiny scars on his hipbones that remind him that the outside of his body finally fits the inside. That his soul and his body are finally one and the same.

Nostalgia Review: High School Musical
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: So because this is a nostalgia review and will focus on a movie that came out 14 years ago I cannot put forward a spoiler warning, but if you still for some reason haven’t seen the first High School Musical movie then don’t read on until you have.
Original Thoughts:
Tumblr media
I can remember when High School Musical first aired on Disney Channel and the hype around it building up to that release. Disney’s PR team did a great job with the advertising and selling it for what it was which was a musical set in a high school and the theme of challenging stereotypes.
I had just turned 14 at the time this movie was released here in the U.K. and I can remember mine and my sister’s social group, which were basically the kids living on our street, were into the hype and were there for it. But like most of the world that hype seemed to die off between the first and second movies where it then became uncool to like the franchise.
I will never forget the premiere of the movie on Disney Channel though, I can remember it as me, my sister and our friends sat in my mum’s living room, singing along to the songs and just generally enjoying the vibe of the movie.
I didn’t know Kenny Ortega’s work prior to seeing High School Musical so for me this was my gateway movie into his work, which has definitely paid off over the years.
I’m a big musical fan anyway and prior to me coming out it was I guess an early indicator to my family that I am who I am. But there’s something about musicals for me that when they’re done right and know the audience they are attracting that do have that magic and power behind them that Ms. Darbys does so often talk about in the movie.
As a movie, it was very much a guilty pleasure for me both because of the stigma of it being “uncool” to like it but also because it was very cheesy and at the time I was very much about not being made fun of anymore than I already was for my weight or my personality.
How I Feel Now:
14 years later and what I have come to realise is not only was High School Musical a gateway movie into the works of Kenny Ortega, but also helped me figure out who I was both in terms of my sexuality and my personality.
This movie didn’t help me come out or anything because again I was 14 when I first watched it and I came out publicly when I was 19, but I do think it made my mum and sister potentially realise it and so softened the reveal five years later.
Not only was the musical side of things leaning towards that but also, because this was the first time seeing Zac Efron in anything, it also sparked that side of fondness for it.
It’s also been interesting to see what a landmark movie High School Musical has been not just culturally but also for Disney and Disney Channel simultaneously. Of course there is the message of this movie which is breaking the status quo but also I believe this is the first Disney Channel Original Movie to be a franchise outside of simply a movie trilogy. There’s the books, there’s the soundtracks, the spin-off series.
High School Musical also helped either launch careers or at least hone in-house talent. I mean Zac Efron is clearly the breakout star of the franchise given his career of late but there’s also Ashley Tisdale or had The Suite Life franchise simultaneously to this and Vanessa Hudgens who hasn’t quite had the mainstream career as the other two but is still known for the franchise.
I chose to do this review because I randomly decided to watch the movie on Disney+ after a month of continuously bad things happening and just needing to have some light harmless entertainment because that is what this movie is. It’s light-hearted, it’s cheesy and if you both accept and embrace that it’s a great feel good movie.
Story:
So as well as being cast as a musical, for some reason some sites class it as a rom-com which I get and I don’t because the romance between Troy and Gabriella is very much underplayed despite the fact you know from the first moment you see these two that they are going to end up together.
Tumblr media
I did like how the movie really did challenge the sterotypical high school clique system and how for American high schools particularly in the noughties that the hierarchy of the student-body was determined by who was in these cliques. For example, the jocks are at the top of that tower because they’re the ones that  traditionally bring fame and acclaim to the school as sports is apparently the be all and end all, then there’s the drama geeks, the brainiacs etc.
So when a jock and a brainiac discover they have a passion for singing and decide to audition for the winter musical, they risk blowing apart the entire status quo of East High and risking the wrath of drama queen Sharpay Evans.
These days this type of movie and theme is very overdone, but back in 2006 when the movie first aired it was still fresh and the manner in which it was played out through the high school setting in musical form was rather entertaining.
Unlike most movies this wasn’t a straightforward hero/villain story and instead had two main protagonists in Troy and Gabriella and one main fantastic antagonist in Sharpay Evans who is every bit the realistic high school drama queen as she is supposed to be and I live for it.
The moral of being true to yourself as opposed to being what everyone expects you to be is again rather overdone but high school is for discovering who you are in those formative years so the moral and theme at least feels organic.
Characters:
Tumblr media
Alright so when I first saw the movie 14 years ago my favourite character was Ryan, Sharpay’s brother because I identified him in terms of style. He has as many hats as I do bow ties and the fact it has recently been either hinted at or confirmed that he was always intended to be a gay character it feels right that despite the franchise never makes such a big deal out of it, he has all the stereotypical traits of what could be deemed a high school gay male who either has or hasn’t come out yet.
Because The Suite Life of Zack and Cody had already been out for a year by the time this movie aired, I already knew of Ashley Tisdale’s range from being Maddie in that, so to make her the drama queen antagonist was an interesting change of pace but at least showed diversity in her character and actually proved she could play both Maddie and London but be convincing as both.
Tumblr media
As for Troy and Gabriella, their relationship was rather cute and the fact they both helped break down each other’s walls in terms of Troy realising he can be both a basketball star and a singer and Gabriella coming out of her timid awkward shell was just enjoyable to see. Relationships don’t always have to be about romance and I am glad that this movie took the time to explore how high school relationships can start without that because, as discovered by the viewing of the next movie, Troy and Gabriella do not kiss until the end of High School Musical 2.
Chad and Taylor make up the six core characters but honestly I see them more as supporting to the core four characters than I do main characters. Chad as Troy’s best friend and Taylor as Gabriella’s does service more as catalysts for the plot rather than fully fleshed characters does lean more towards the supporting than the main characters.
In terms of actual supporting players though I loved them, if I had Ms. Darbys teaching drama at my school I would have signed up a lot more, her dynamic rivalry with Coach Bolton/Troy’s dad served as the foundation of the jock/drama rivalry at East High and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Kelsey the composer was great with the dry humour in the movie particularly when dealing with Sharpay and Ryan’s divaisms.
Songs:
My favourite songs in this movie on rewatch were “When There Was Me and You” and “Start of Something New” just because they weren’t as overplayed as “Breaking Free” and “Get Your Head In The Game”, I’m also a fan of the slower ballads as well as the power ballads which these movies don’t have.
I do like a good uptempo show tune though, but “What I’ve Been Looking For” is the perfect example of too much. Also “Stick to the Status Quo” was a good example of uptempo but everyone sing-speaking confessions was a little bit too much for me.
Tumblr media
As for the ending showstopper of “We’re All In This Together”, it’s cheesy, it’s somewhat over the top and as someone who has done a lip sync group dance routine to it, I do have a soft spot for it.
Final Thoughts:
Before recently watching it I cannot quite remember the last time I did give it a rewatch, I know I used to own the DVD but since getting Disney+ back in February/March it has been on my radar to revisit and I am glad I did.
It’s by no means one of the best musicals out there but it is one of the better Disney Channel Original Movies and it’s easy Sunday afternoon viewing when you want to block out the world.
So that’s my review of High School Musical, what did you guys think? Post your comments and check out other Nostalgia Reviews as well as other Movie Reviews and posts.

How old were you when you had your first crush? The first crush I had that wasn’t a celebrity or a teacher was when I was 12. If you're a girl, how old were you when you started your period? It was a month after I turned 10. By that time I was just entering Grade 4 and when we were asked who had already gotten theirs, only a handful of hands shot up haha. I was an early bird for sure. What is your worst period story? Pretty obvious TMI warning here. Happened last December. I was visiting a photo studio to test if they were going to be suitable for my college batch’s grad shoot and unfortunately my period started in the middle of the trip. Even more unfortunately the trip was all the way in fucking BINANGONAN, which meant I couldn’t have access to napkins for the entire drive. I had to cross my legs real tight to avoid any leakage but at the time we got to the studio, my crotch area was soaked nonetheless. I had to ask for napkins from the studio staff, but thank god they were the nicest people ever and didn’t hesitate to hand me one. Does anyone else know who your first crush was besides you? Gabie knows. I think she’s the only one who knows, but I also think Pia asked me at one point too, so maybe her as well. What was your most embarrassing moment? I have at least one everyday.
What are your worst cramps like? Leg cramps that wake me up at 4 AM, without a doubt. Those always end me in tears no matter how old I am. What is the most physically painful thing you have ever experienced? Either my foot infection back in ‘09 or the toothache I had a few months back. I had no idea a TOOTH could send me crying almost every night or wake me up in the middle of the night just from being so painful. Oh and the time I ripped my ear piercing off. What are you allergic to? I’m not allergic to anything... at least I haven’t encountered anything I turned out to be allergic to. Have you ever wanted to be someone else? I’ve never seriously wanted to be a particular person, but I’ve found myself fantasizing about if I were richer. Have you ever been jealous of someone? Sure. Have you ever been jealous of a friend? Yeah. Just mostly high school stuff though, like the time Erk kept getting Gabie away from me and I got super fed up about it at one point that I stopped talking to Gab for like a month lmao. Do you feel shy around someone when you are first getting to know them? Yeah of course. Aren’t most of us? Do you feel shy around a crush? I get both shy and distant. What color hair did your first crush have? Black. Do you ever cry in public unwillingly, or are you able to hold it in? I’m able to hold it in because I hate making a scene. I just keep swallowing the lump in my throat and try to blink less. Do you throw up involuntarily when you have to, or can you swallow it down? I also can swallow it down as long as I have to. But if I really need to throw up I run to the nearest toilet. What's one near-embarrassing moment you had? Uhh idk. If I can tell something is going to be embarrassing I usually already feel pretty embarrassed about it, regardless if I’m saved from the embarrassment or not. Do you ever call yourself stupid? Yeah. Just yesterday BoJack Horseman’s “You’re a stupid piece of shit" kept replaying in my head all afternoon and evening. What was the name of your first imaginary friend? Katrina. She was my first and last. What's one weird habit you have? When I get my usual drink at Starbucks, my first sip has to be a long one and I usually savor it by closing my eyes and letting out a contented sigh haha. Only then can I start working.  Are you more of an open or a private person? I’m a bit of both, if that makes sense? I keep my shit private when they aren’t being raised, but when someone asks me about them I have no problem being an open book. Do you wish you could be more open with others? No, I already am. Do you feel ashamed? Not permanently lmao, but I feel it every now and then. Do you get embarrassed easily? Yes. Do you have regrets? Some. Have you ever fallen asleep in class? Never. I feel like – aside from being disrespectful – it’s an embarrassing thing to happen, especially if you’re caught and get scolded for it, so I make it a point not to let it happen to me. What was the hardest thing you've ever had to forgive? [Big trigger warning: Domestic violence] The day my grandpa said sorry to each of us in the family for beating up my baby cousin in a drunken stupor. After that he left the house for the week, presumably out of shame, then he came back to ask for forgiveness from each of us. I was desensitized to all of the violence I’ve seen at that point, so my 9 year old self gave him a shrug. Is there anyone you hate? No, not hate. Is there anything or anyone you're angry at, that you haven't forgiven yet? I don’t plan on forgiving my deadbeat uncle or my brother anytime soon. List five of your biggest bullies. A lot of people bullied me for my name and looks when I was younger, but they’re all irrelevant in my life now and I’ve forgotten all of them save for two – Kaira (who’s my friend now) and Sophia (who I don’t like just as much as when I was 4). Have you ever plotted revenge against someone? I’ve fantasized about revenge but never plotted anything. Have you ever done anything to get revenge against someone? Nope. ^If so, do you regret it, and did you apologize later? Have you ever had a friend crush (i.e., you really wanted to be their friend)? Yeah I remember being like this with Macy. She’s changed quite a bit these days and we don’t talk anymore, which I find sad considering what we’ve gone through in the last couple of years. What is the greatest longing of your heart? Money. The rest of my desires - happiness, contentment, the material things I want - comes after I have money lol. Who was your first love? Gabie. What was the last thing someone said that warmed your heart? Chesca said something very sweet to me and it was something I needed to hear, but explaining it would need too much background context so suffice it to say, she reassured me when I needed it most. Do you pray regularly? Nope. ^If so, to whom? Do you love Jesus? What church do you go to? I’m not religious but my mom is, and she drags the entire family to church every Sunday. That said we go to a specific parish within our area, because that’s what we’re a part of. What denomination is your church (if you go)? Catholic. What was the first year you voted in a presidential election? 2016. How old were you when the year changed to 2000? At exactly January 1? I was a year old, but I was turning 2 that year. Have you ever been afraid of the world ending? Not really, but it certainly has felt like the end of the world these days. This is the kind of shit you only ever get to read about in textbooks, so it’s feeling a little surreal. Do you enjoy public speaking? If I’m prepared for it and/or I enjoy what it is I have to talk about. What food makes you gag? Pineapple, raisins, or ice cream with nuts. Who was your first celebrity crush? Ashley Tisdale when she was Maddie in Suite Life of Zack & Cody. I also lowkey liked the mom, hahaha. What show did you want to be on when you were younger? Hi-5 when I was extremely younger; the kiddie crowds looked so lit 😩 Hahaha but when I got a bit older, I wanted to be in Legends of the Hidden Temple or be one of the people splashed with slime at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Looking at my answer I could now tell I was definitely a Nickelodeon kid. What was your childhood dream? To be an astronaut, to be a wrestler, and to have a big house with a swimming pool. Did you ever fulfill your childhood dream? I have 0/3 achieved, but it’s okay. My wants have mostly changed. What is your dream now? I still want a big house with a pool for sure lmao, but I mostly just dream of having enough money all my life and never having to worry about finances or having to ask people. What is your passion? History has always been my biggest one. Are you living your dream? Not yet. Do you receive insults or compliments more? Compliments, but that’s because I don’t let myself thrive in an environment where I’d get insults more because yanno, self-care? Lol. What is unfair about your life? Bad past presidents and how it’s led our country to be in the miserable state it’s in today, whereas I have to see other countries flourish in their unbelievably competent governments and see how these countries have public parks, libraries, playgrounds, etc. I don’t know what I did in my past life to have to end up in the Philippines hahahahaha, but here we are today. What about your life would you change? I wish my dog can stay with me forever. Did you write love poems when you were younger? Nope. Who are you jealous of and why? I’m not really feeling jealousy at the moment. When someone hurts you, do you start to feel jealous of them? No? Why would that happen? Name five people you know who have everything handed to them. Idkkkkk. I don’t wanna namedrop anyone for something like this lol. Name one person you know who is spoiled rotten. Boomers? Name one person you know who seems stuck-up. I know someone but I’m not naming him on here lmao. Name a church that just wants money. All of them? LOL at least all the Catholic ones, I can’t speak for the other denominations. What is your least favorite chore? I really hate folding clothes. Have you ever had an account of yours hacked? Yeah but like by a virus or something, not a person. Have you ever been a victim of police misconduct? Nah. But traffic enforcers have been incredibly rude to me before. Do you keep a diary? This one. What color is the diary you are currently using? It doesn’t really come with a color... Do you actually write "Dear Diary"? Only in the diaries I kept as a kid, because it’s what I saw in cartoons. When was the last time you wrote and sent someone a letter? December. I included a handwritten letter in my Christmas gifts for Gab. Do you write in cursive or print more? Print. Have you ever self-harmed? Duh.

Audiences who grew up in the prime of the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon remember certain aspects of the popular shows that were too good to be true. Many fans dreamed of having Hannah Montana's insanely extravagant closet, but this wasn't the only example of a top-notch TV room that had many kids begging their parents for an upgrade.
RELATED: Retro Disney Vs. Nickelodeon: Which Channel Had The Best Shows, According To Reddit
It only made sense that the teenagers from hit Nickelodeon and Disney Channel shows had rooms to match their unique and comical storylines. These extravagant rooms were every young audience member's dream come true and had them wishing for an extreme makeover.
10 The Firehouse Floor - Jonas (2009)
Tumblr media
This room is more of a whole second floor. Jonas was a Disney Channel show from 2009 that spoofed the real lives of the Jonas Brothers. And while fans swooned over the three brothers, the show had an impressive living space.
The brothers lived on the second floor of a firehouse and it was every fan's dream come true. The hug living space was divided into a section for each brother. Fans will recall Nick's drum platform that raised to reveal his bed. There were also Kevin's tour bus-style bunk beds and revolving guitar rack.
9 Teddy's Basement Room - Good Luck Charlie
Tumblr media
Good Luck Charlie was a sensation on Disney Channel, as it chronicled the lives of a mundane family and the addition of a new baby sister. Beyond the comical moments and cute baby, fans fell in love with Teddy's (Bridgit Mendler) basement room. It fit in with all the fun flair, color palette, and design of the 2000s.
Fans were also envious that Teddy got part of the basement to herself, complete with a bed platform. Her room was also shared with her rocker brother and was separated by a teal farm door. Teddy's room had everything a viewer with siblings wish they had. She even had her own bathroom.
8 Alex's Furry-Walled Bedroom - Wizards Of Waverly Place
Tumblr media
Alex's (Selena Gomez) room in Wizards of Waverly Place was well-liked because of one major factor. In "You Can't Always Get What You Carpet," Alex gets a room makeover and has her dad and brothers put up new wallpaper. As they are almost done putting up a bright and floral wallpaper, Alex makes her grand entry.
She just went shopping and found fuchsia fur wallpaper that she fell in love with. Being a "Daddy's Girl," her father puts it up for her, despite her brothers being against the idea and the extra labor. Fans can't forget Alex trying to lint roll her furry and unique wallpaper that screamed "Alex."
7 Max Thunderman's Underground Bedroom - The Thundermans
Tumblr media
Max Thudnermans's (Jack Griffo) secret bedroom caused eyes to bulge at its extravagant display of detail. Seeing as Max is an antagonist/anti-hero with a secret identity, it made sense that his room needed a secret hatch. To access his room, he needed to lift the seat cushion of the couch that led to a slide.

The slide would land anyone directly on Max's bed for safety. And that's not all, as Max's room was decorated in blue LED lights and a blue color palette. His room was decked out with everything he needed as a potential villain, from high-tech gadgets to computers. To top it off, he had the huge space all to himself.
6 Ciara's Princess Room - Knight Squad
Tumblr media
Knight Squad is a show from Nickeldoean from 2018 about a group of teenagers who are taught to be warriors at Knight School. The show's central character, Ciara (Daniella Perkins), attends the school in secret while wearing a ring to conceal her identity as Astoria's princess. But it wasn't her story that was impressive, it was her jaw-dropping room.
Ciara's room was fit for a princess and adorned in teal, pink and purple colors throughout. What the real kicker was her impressive revolving display of sparkly tiaras and crowns. What really stuck in audiences' dreams was Ciara's 24-hour snack catapult. When in a pickle and needing a quick getaway, she could make use of the secret passage.
5 Carly's Revamped Room (iCarly)
Tumblr media
From the pear phone to Spencer's (Jerry Trainor) elaborate art pieces, there were many cool aspects of iCarly that fans adored. Besides the impressive two-floor apartment that Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) had, her revamped room took the cake.
Spencer is the best older brother and decides to give his sister a room makeover and Carly's room was every teen girl's dream come true. It had a fun array of bright colors, cool lounge chairs, and beaded curtains. Her loft-style bed caught everyone's attention, but more than that, young fans were in dire need of Carly's gummy bear chandelier and water coffee table. Carly could also trampoline right into her bed.
4 London's Closet & Room - The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody
Tumblr media
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody was one of the top shows created by Disney Channel and even got a revamp sequel show. One of its main characters was London Tipton (Brenda Song), the daughter of the hotel's founder. London was known for her rich lifestyle and extravagance when it came to clothes and accessories.
But nothing tops her closest extravaganza. In the show, London shows Maddie (Ashley Tisdale) her closet that needs its own map to navigate. Maddie even expresses that she needs to visit Hat World. In true London fashion, she chose pink as her theme and even has a talking mirror that tells her if she looks good.
3 Raven's New Room - That's So Raven
Tumblr media
In an upside of That's So Raven, Raven (Raven-Symoné) and her brother take part in a room makeover show. Previously, Raven was often seen living in a cluttered room in the attic where she didn't have space for her clothes and designs and wanted to move to the basement. Cory (Kyle Massey) is in charge of revamping his sister's room and he did not disappoint.

Her new room was one of the best seen on TV, as she had her own living space and office for her designs. To top it off, her bed was suspended from the ceiling like a swing. The room was decorated in neon greens, purples, pinks, and yellows.
2 Lilly & Miley's Room - Hannah Montana Forever
Tumblr media
When it came to the double life of Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) fans couldn't get over her secret room closet that housed racks of revolving clothes and shoes. In the show's fourth season, Hannah Montana Forever, Miley and Lilly (Emily Osment) move in together.
The room had fans feeling envious. It was split to reflect both Miley's style and Lilly's style and in the center was a small living space with chairs. But what had fans gobsmacked was that the room actually converted into a stable where horses could peek their heads in. The room was complete with a vanity that revealed a passageway into Hannah's closet.
1 Drake & Josh's Room - Drake & Josh
Tumblr media
Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh is a classic series from the 2000s. Two stepbrothers learn to develop a bond when their mom and dad get married. The show was full of fun laughs and heartfelt moments. But what the show is always remembered for is Drake's (Drake Bell) and Josh's (Josh Peck) room.
The room wasn't extravagant in terms of decor, color, or anything else. But fans still wished they had it, as it was humongous. Josh's bed was near the door, while Drake's was on a platform that had its own stairs. The room even had a shared living room space with a couch. Fans often saw the room with guitars, a table tennis table, and even a kiddie pool.

Trading Faces
This is the first of a handful of episodes with the character Camille Leon who is played by Ashley Tisdale, AKA Sharpay from High School Musical and Maddie from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. We’re both Ashleys! Yay!
The twins have done something fucking wild with the dryer and Kim’s cheer uni is... um flying and surrounded by a weird aura like its radioactive. Considering the twins are in biohazard suits and are like don’t touch the uni without this tool... um, yeah probably radioactive. How has that family not gotten cancer or radiation poisoning.
The fam without Kim talks about some big news. That they haven’t told her yet. Oh dear. (Spoiler: Twins are now Freshman in HS. That’s the news.)
Kim is stressing about the twin nonsense and her girlfriend and boyfriend (Monique and Ron) both are like, relax babe. Ron even calls her baby. Monique grabs her arm too.
The Senior table menu has stuff Ron can’t even pronounce and assorted cheeses.
The twins ruin Kim’s all good mood.
The twins (who are 12-13 at this point; they were 10 in season 1) have skipped several grades to 9th grade.
Kim has a fantastic BIG NO. So extra.
Apparently Middleton’s School District calls themselves Middleton Unified. My local school district calls themselves an ISD (Independent School District).
Kim is being so dramatic about having the twins in the same school with her. You need to chill.
“My lady could use a sitch.” ohhhh my heart. Goodbye I am gone. My cause of death is this show.
Britina is in jail. This ep premiered Feb 2007 around the time Britney Spears shaved her hair. Topical by accident.
They visit Britina and Kim and Ron discuss Camille Leon. And then she shows the fuck up followed by the paparazzi. Britina called Camille 3 days ago. Way to keep up.
Camille has a hairless cat named Debutante. The cat has the hots for Rufus.
Britina says that she didn’t steal the money and Kim’s like “good enough for me.” Kim basically vouches for her.
Camille like grabs Kim and twirls her around to talk to her. Like, excuse you. How did Kim not kick your ass for that.
Holsten twins. Side eyes. I know who you’re talking about.
Camille has a little pocket computer that looks like a laptop.
Reality Show Awards? Gag.
MC Honey. Kim tells her “I’m sorry this is more business than pleasure.”
MC Honey did not steal the goodie bags. Kim was literally talking to her at the time.
Twins suggest that it’s a shapeshifter.
All three Possible children are taking Statistics together. I’m sorry Barkin.
“Three Possibles in the same Statistics class? What’s the probability?” And then he wants them to figure that out.
The twins also reveal things like Kim sings in the shower and finishes her homework on the....
She slams her fists on the desk in frustration. Miss Guide can see you Kim.
MHS takes away the Senior Table. That budget goes to the SKIP Program (which is what the tweebs are part of).
Ron whines that it’s not fair and Barkin says “And is it fair that the polar ice caps are melting?” WAY TO PUT IT IN PERSPECTIVE. AND I AGREE. THAT IS TOTALLY NOT FAIR, BARKIN. Gods, that was relevant 10 years ago and its even more relevant now.
And then this scene becomes more of a trainwreck (just in terms of all the awful things happening) when the thing that Wade had said that Kim and Monique wouldn’t want to know about until they graduated from college happens. The mystery meat contents are revealed to the cast. We only hear a brief line from the film (but the word slaughterhouse is used)
“I’ve never seen anything more horrible.” Monique says. She had her hands over eyes. Snouts were involved.
The twins are telling Bonnie stories about Kim. There’s a Yosemite story. Poison oak is involved. I want to hear this story so badly.
The twins made their own version of the Kimmunicator that is lighter, sleeker, and plays music.
They have to get a ride to Beverly Hills. And the twins help get a ride with someone who’s kid they tutored in Calculus.
Kim’s so dramatic. Ron is next to her reclining in the airplane seat. You’re all nerds, okay. Kim, your brothers, and Ron.
Ron blew some cash here at this super ritzy mall in BH while he had 99 mill.
The twins read from Camille’s autobio and do some research on their not!Kimmunicator.
Country Club Banana. You have to pass a credit check to get in. Kim does not have credit.
Kim tries to get Camille to help her get in basically to check if she can pass the credit check using $100 socks as a reason and Camille’s like socks are gross.
Kim is wearing one of those wrap shirts. Like a version of it?
Kim is so mad that the twins are trying to help. She really has no chill. Kim, please behave. You’re practically an adult at this point.
"You don’t wanna know what I really think, Bonnie.”
Fashion show. There’s a rare necklace worth like 1 mil involved. It’s the target.
Ron can’t go to the dressing room. Kim’s in the dressing room.
The twins go meet with a plastic surgeon that was associated with Camille. They discuss if they should because Kim doesn’t want them involved and one of them is like “reason enough to do it.”
He basically made Camille into a shapeshifter.
The model supposed to wear the necklace was dropped by her agency and Ron volunteers Kim to wear the gown and the necklace/model. Kim’s like “I’m not a model” and Ron’s like “Why not? You’re beautiful.” GOODBYE, I AM GONE. OH MY GODS. 😭😭😭
Kim does the model thing to keep tabs on the necklace. Ron’s gobsmacked to see how great she looks.
The tweebs show up to tell her about Camille.
Camille steals the necklace in full view of everyone.
The tweebs were right.
Camille shapeshifts into Ron and it’s super easy to figure it out just based on body language and Rufus.
The dress Kim was wearing gets torn in the fight. The designer loves the change to the gown.
Kim literally does this fight in a dress that is strapless.
The tracking powder accidentally gets released into the vent system. Whoops.
The cat leads them to Camille. Whoops.
Camille is arrested.
Next scene is Kim going to Guide’s office where her parents and bros are at. The counselor recommends that the twins be enrolled as Freshmen at another HS because “Clearly this is having a negative effect on you” (Anne) and James is like, it’s about your best interests too. And aww. Kim basically says no to the school switching by being like, if they switch, so do I. They have my back and I have their back. Yay! The siblings are awesome.
The tag is Rufus on a date with the cat. That cat is so hot for Rufus.
