I have a headcannon that during the 18-months Wilde will sometimes slip irish experssions when he is very stressed/sleep deprived but he will still do it with his trained strong Oxford accent.

Zolf at first thinks it is some form of rich people offensive joke. Carter thinks it is to confuse him specifically. Barnes is the first one to go "guys I think his inner monologue is just like this and he actually just isn't filtering it right now".

Zolf starts to belive Bsrnes after he gets to know Wilde more. He asks Wilde once but the man acts at the same time crypitically, and apologetical about it, Zolf decides to just mot adress it every again to avoid an unconfortable unecessary talk. Carter starts to belive Barnes imidiatly after Barnes says it.

The few times they get Wilde drunk the sane happens but he also gets a lisp.

Only years later when they do a small post 5 years reunion hang out just for the four of them (Azu and Hamid also have a dinner just for the two of them) is that Wilde adds a faint accent to it. He doesn't seem to notice he is doing it but he actually just says it used to be his accent and until recently he tought he fully had lost it because post-time skip Wilde is in the best place that man ever was.
