The Many Sides of Ring Schwartz (Ring x Reader)

Seeing Ring’s face contort in such a way you didn't expect it to, it elicits a reminder.

(I got overwhelmed /pos seeing Ring’s grin like. Me when the twins are twinning. Have a short shot I made without much thought because I still have exams tomorrow LMAO)

Disclaimer: This is just a short oneshot I made for an unreleased character in a span of about an hour. Please don't take the characterization too seriously as this is just for fun. No pronouns mentioned.

“Are you alright?”

“…Huh?”

Things happened so fast, you didn't even realize that you found yourself being cradled in the strong arms of your partner. Mind still reeling from getting carried by Ring then gently placed down onto the ground, your eyes meet his as he knelt to your level.

“You're not hurt, are you?”

You looked down at yourself, then checked for any injuries by moving your limbs around. Nothing hurt, thankfully.

You then look at Ring’s expression, seeing the worry wash over his usually stoic face and suppress the urge to pinch it.

“I'm okay, don't worry.”

The moment you said that, relief replaced the worry in him and he nodded, reaching out to give your head a few awkward pats in an attempt to soothe you even if the surroundings haven't even sunk in.

“Good. Next thing is…”

You thought that it was adorable that Ring would be so expressive, it was like he wore his heart on his sleeve no matter how hard he tried to hide it by acting tough. Even as he was labeled as a guard dog, to you, he was like a lost puppy.

But then, you see it.

It was as natural as the subtle movement of his chest as he breathed. The expression that you found so lovable earlier had contorted, and you could've sworn you were looking at his twin as his eyes narrowed. His lips twisted into a smile that looked far too different from what you were used to, yet it felt like it had always been there.

…Perhaps you were just being ignorant of it.

“Stay here. I'll be right back.”

Ring stood up after turning away from you, and you could see the people that tried to hurt you let out terrified noises akin to a rat’s squeaks as they backed away from him. Watching his figure after that particular expression made you feel like he was a whole different person, and it was at this time that you remembered…

Ring is a part of Vogel.

The sides of himself that he would awkwardly share with you were only reserved for you. The times he would become flustered at your friendly gestures, the curious glint in his eyes as you would introduce new things to him, the little smiles he would have on his face after enjoying the time he spent with you…

…Others outside of his circle would never have that luxury.

For they will only see the cold, cruel way the fangs of a predator will dig into their necks with an unchanging apathy.

Swiftly, Ring took them out before they could even beg for their lives, and you could only remain where he had put you down, heart beating wildly to the sight.

It didn't take long for him to finish his retaliation, but as soon as he could tell that things were finally quiet, Ring turns back to you and returns to your side, kneeling in front of you again and preparing himself to carry you.

“I'm sorry. I didn't mean to show you that sight…”

It took you a second to respond, but you found the voice back in your throat again as the foreboding sense of danger he emitted had dissipated and he was back to being concerned for you.

“…No, it's okay.”

You took at good look at his face, seeing there was a drop of blood that stained it. Taking out a piece of cloth from your pocket, you reach out to wipe it off before putting it back. Ring makes a small, puzzled sound at your gentle gesture.

“What was that for?”

“You had some blood on your cheek.”

It may be messed up, but you felt your own lips turn up to a smile at the sight of his confusion. He also took a second to process what happened before opting to continue lifting you into his arms.

“H-Hey-!”

“…You're weird.”

“What's that supposed to mean?”

Ring doesn't answer, but you can pick up the small huff of amusement that he lets out and you feel your pulse quicken as he begins to walk.

“…Let's get you checked in case.”

“Ugh, I told you, I'm fine…”

“In case.”

You petulantly scoff at him as you crossed your arms, but you can never deny the sense of warmth you felt bloom in your chest with the careful way he treated you.

Ring had many sides to himself, and you can't help but find them all endearing and attractive. From the fangs he bares at others to the shy, almost lost eyes he would exclusively show you. Oh, and probably his twin and leader as well.

My writing is rusty asf so please forgive me I really just had to make this,, but I love Vogel sm I'll probably make brainrot of Nica and Darius next!!!
