this is basically what I envisioned when I made that comment. just a little dumb idiot /affectionate
just ✨pretend✨ it’s colored in and the shoes are pink. just ✨believe✨
I also wanted to draw him being carried by the back of his shirt collar by the narrator’s hand like a little cat, but I wasn’t sure how to draw it lol
I love his shoes sm!
it was fun drawing your Stanley! I didn't know the color palette so I went off of the og Stanley hopefully the colors are alright!

sometimes I forget that I have creative freedom over my projects and I can put tiny little references to my favorite stories in there
#I started texturing a boat I modeled and I want to put a name on the hull#and I’m extremely bad at naming stuff but then I realized that it literally doesn’t matter and I can name the boat either A5158 or A258#because no one will know I named it after the ginger mafia guy from the author fanfic manga#also putting a mackerel into my scene so my chuuya boat can have a matching Dazai fish <3#I love seeing little references to other media in games because you can always see a bit of the devs personalities in there#the longer I’m studying the more I have forgotten to put a bit of that part of my personality in my projects too#also I don’t have too much time left on my project so these past weeks and next few weeks have been/will be super stressful…#I’m doing great time wise but I want to do a lot of additional stuff and getting everything done and polished will be a close call u_u#but I wanna do fanart so bad rn I have two wips and dozens of other ideas#<- a good drawing session could fix me#watching the new episode without drawing fanart will be hard :( but only 3 1/2 more weeks until I have free time again#but at the same time only 3 1/2 weeks left until I’m done with my project u_u and my degree u_u#sina’s rambling#uni tag

I know they say Beast Atsushi was referred to as Number 78 because the orphanage assigned each kid a number to keep track of them.
But it feels so much more than that considering there’s only 2 other characters who’ve been referred to as numbers.
Paul Verlaine as Black Number 12.
Chuuya Nakahara as A-258 (experiment number) and A5158 (ability code.)
Both of them got those numbers (well not the second one for Chuuya) from being government experiments. And in Verlaine’s case also from acting as one of there spies.
Stands to reason Beast Atsushi would get his number from something similar.
It could’ve been from Beast Shibusawa but considering the lengths the Beast version of the Headmaster went to hide all evidence of this man.
I mean he threw his body in the river and burned all his research. So I don’t think he’d continue using an alias that the man gave Beast Atsushi. And well it’s not like the Headmaster didn’t know Beast Atsushi’s name.
Could’ve been from something else, perhaps those Werecreature experiments we hear about Fukuchi eliminating. They say he killed hundreds and thousands but never say he killed them all.
And he presumably was still working with Fyodor if the 37 year burden is anything to go by. And Fyodor definitely wants Atsushi alive.
And yeah that’s Bsd and Number 78 comes from Bsd Beast but I can see it popping up in the main series. From what we’ve seen and know of Atsushi’s past it’s very similar to what we know of Beast Atsushi’s past.
Even down to the hammer incident, it’s word for word the same thing going on in both worlds.
Details like this also seem to crossover, in some ways exactly the same such as Beast Kyouka being called the 35 killer. But also in taking those events and flipping them around.
Both Kyouka’s try to leave the Port Mafia. In Bsd she manages to leave because of Atsushi and in Bsd Beast she stays because of Beast Atsushi.
As well as Bsd Atsushi being nicknamed the Man Eating Tiger and than in Bsd Beast, Beast Atsushi’s first appearance is as a tiger with a man in his mouth and biting down.
So I can see Number 78 coming up in a way that differs from what it’s supposed to mean in Bsd Beast.
And having a far more sinister meaning.

A little observation
I have always found interesting this.
(Atsushi's part won't be spoken but I added the eventual parallel here)
Rimbaud made the mistake to not separe Chuuya's humanity from his... well inhumanity and because of that he was terrified for life, as soon as he tried to take Arahabaki as his ability.
Then during 15, he recognized that mistake and he said that he wasn't going to commit it again. Because of that he was going to cut off Chuuya's head and keep only his body.
Which makes sense, considering Chuuya's inherent humanity is on his brain and not inside his heart.
His body is anormaly strong and resistent and that much is visible.
But the fact that, to open the "gate", Verlaine touched his forehead is pratically the opposite.
Plus, if we see what a singularity is...
It gives us a fair amount of things to think about.
Moreover some symbolism Chuuya has.
Such as his government number A5158 that is the name of a star HIP 5158
A brown dwarf.
And then two other numbers.
His code lines 2383.
And the 169th possibility
It's very interesting this information.
Chuuya is a really interesting character considering he is able to surpass the laws of physics.
And for now let's just keep this sentence.
Time is relative.
It can stretch and squeeze but it can't run backwards.
The only thing that can travel across dimensions like time is gravity.
Interstellar
This probably explains why was Chuuya able to see his past through Verlaine and why Rimbaud needed Chuuya to see the past.
Turns out that I don't exclusively write.
I theorize a lot!
But right now this last sentence gave us to think.
Until next time!

hi! i'm interested in purchasing some prints from your shop, but i noticed that the A5158 one only comes in 4x5 size, which is a bit smaller than my preferences. i'm just wondering if you are able to make bigger sizes available for this print? thank you so much!
hi !! yes ofc! i've updated the file so it should allow for a bigger size (i worked on a smaller canvas, so 8x10 is as high as it'll go) and added day gone wrong :) thanks for asking!
i've also uploaded some of my genshin/hsr and surrealism stuff as well (the ones below) in case anyone's interested :) here's the link!

I SWEAR THE ENDING IS HAPPY-
TW: Implied / Referenced human experimentation, dehumanization
Peeps who might be interested: No idea this one hasn't interacted with anyone yet but I felt like writing this soo... uhhh...
@respiratory-kristem @fukuzawa-armeddaddyagency @iwaitforthestorm @currentlyeatingrocks (you guys are the ones Tumblr suggest to tag lol)
Murky waters, a black liquid. That's what Y7139 had known most of its life.
As a ability-derived lifeform, there was little for it to do but stay in its tank until Father deemed it necessary to let Y7139 out for testing.
It, it, it. That's what the guards called Y7139. A thing.
Y7139 was a thing, sure. Inhuman, a person created in a lab. Nothing more than a clone. But Y7139, in its own eyes, deemed itself a he.
It was a small act of rebellion, in the back of his mind. If Father ever found out, his persona model would surely be overridden. He didn't want that.
He didn't want to be erased from existence, even if his whole purpose was to be nothing than a mere replacement for an escaped experiment. The vessel of Arahabaki was so, so lucky.
Y had lost track of time. Couldn't remember anymore how long he had been in this tank for. The darkness robbed him of all sense of time.
He'd been a test subject for years, until A5158 had been recaptured. Recently? A while ago? Ages ago? Y couldn't remember. He didn't care.
Project Orochi had been forgotten, a part of him knew that. He didn't mind. He didn't mind being forgotten about, because it meant the tests stopped.
He did mind being locked away in the tank. Eventually he would die, wouldn't he?
Over time he felt his strength, which had been little to begin with, drain away.
It had been ages since one of the scientists had tapped on the glass.
They'd shut off whatever kept him alive. Or, perhaps, they had left and the machines had finally begun to fail.
It mattered little, in the face of withering away in a murky tube, ankles chained to the bottom.
The machines failing meant the drugs had begun to wear off, and he reached within himself, reached for Orochi.
He wanted out. If he had to risk the destruction of himself and the whole facility, as well as everyone potentially in it?
Well, he was dying either way.
When he came to, it was to cold. He blinked, eyes only slowly adjusting to the bright surroundings.
Somethig white and cold floated down from a hole in the ceiling. And he felt a sense of fear, fear, warning, fear from the singularity.
Slowly, Y7139 lifted a trembling hand. One of the white dots landed on his bony hand, melting into water.
It wasn't dangerous, and Orochi's attempts to instill fear ceased ever so slowly, the singularity retreating further into his mind.
Y didn't care. Said singularity had been his only companion for ages, even if it didn't speak, only left wordless whispers of warning and caution in his mind.
For the first time in his existence Y7139 laughed, despite his body aching, despite the blood staining his lips after releasing Orochi on purpose.
He got up, unsteady, shaking, and looked around the ruin of the facility.
He leaned against the wall, slowly making his way through the hallways. It was void of life, and part of him doubted that it had been due to his rampage minutes ago.
He found a log from Father, the last entry being one regarding the recapture of A5158, and tore it to shreds when he saw the date on it.
Father hadn't been here in ages, if the dust and molt was anything to go by. The emergency power on his tank must've ran out.
Y7139 smiled. He'd been forgotten.
Slowly, he made his way out of the facility.
Finally, he thought when he stepped outside, shivering when his feet stepped into something icy cold, white as the dots that had fallen through the hole in the ceiling.
I can finally be free...

The Arahabaki project
If you've already thought the whole Lab scene in Stormbringer was traumatic/sad.
If you think about it, and pointing that the government probably didn't have information about nullying abilities like Dazai's. Trhe whole Arahabaki project would almost certainly been the equivalent of an Atomic bomb/ suicidal attack.
Like, as told in Yosano's back story, they were loosing the war, so it makes sense they were so desperate to create a weapon powerful enough to flip the table. However Arahabaki's power is only released through Corruption: A massive amount of power able to completely destroy anything in a wide range.
But without a nullifier it becomes a One-use attack. There is not turning back once Arahabaki takes control of its vessel and starts ripping it apart from the inside out due to the excessive amount of energy, until the person falls dead mere minutes after it began.
Imagine the amount of trauma from being tortured on a daily basis, treated like a lab rat by strangers, just to be transformed into a living bomb with no control over your own body and who will surely also have a even more painful dead.
Now, that scene from Dead Apple where the government employees and Ango refer to Chuuya as 'A5158' hits way harder. Even if he got to escape from the lab and become a powerful ability user, they still consider him a playable final card in extreme cases.

Let us all set two things absolutely straight here: 1) A5158 is Chuuya’s serial number and all ability users have one, its just registration. A258 is his human experiment number. Go read sbr you losers
2) Ango becomes infinitley cooler read pathetic once you realise he goes around calling people their social security numbers idgaf what u think my man became a government agent at like 17 and decided to commit to the bit

"Have you pinpointed skill user A5158's location yet?" "I have," they replied. "Then could you give him a message?" "What would you like me to tell him?" Ango quietly stared at the image of fog covering Yokohama. They were out of time. With a hint of desperation in his voice, he responded: "...'It's time to pay Professor Glasses back.'"
this is the stupidest exchange ever. also what the fuck is Ango and Chuuya's beef. is that ever actually explained (do not answer that, i'll read it if its there). i can't get over Ango in desperation and mild agony referring to himself as Doc Glasses. its supposed to be all dramatic with the weight of the world but its so stupid
