imagine having to return to dating people your height after having a rough breakup with a giant or tiny. like.

your lover hugs you, their head on your shoulder, and it’s nice - but it isn’t the feeling of giant fingers around you, a huge hand compressing your entire form against a giant chest. when your lover laughs, it’s quiet, not a booming noise that shakes your entire body. you can lay on top of them, but it’ll never be the same as curling your entire body into the crook of a giant’s neck.

on the other side, the massive change of having a lover who isn’t a tiny. you can’t put them in your pocket on rough days. you have to cook more food instead of setting aside tiny bites of the best bits. you hold your lovers hand, but it’ll never ever replicate the feeling of an entire person in your palm.

You have been invited to the Rose Festival! (Algy's 100 followers celebration ♡)

a/n: hello!! once again, thank you so much everyone for 100 followers!! i still can't believe there's so many people out there who would enjoy my art and my OCs, especially since i've been in the community for a relatively short time. everyone's been SO sweet and supportive along the way and i appreciate all of you so so much <3 so! as my celebration, i'm finally releasing the hometown event for my OC Rosienne. hope other people will have fun with it as well!

THE SET-UP

Amongst the Shaftlands' hills, in an isolated rural area, sourronded by deep woods and golden fields, stands an old, majestic palace commonly called the Midnight Castle. According to the legend, it is the very place where the Beautiful Princess had fallen for her cursed lover. For generations now, the Midnight Palace has been in the hands of the Minuit family - according to the legend, they're the descendants of one of the servant families. The Midnight Palace now is a tourist attraction managed by the Minuits, keeping the legend alive and helping people learn more about the surrounding history. The famous Rose Festival is held every year in commemoration of the Beautiful Princess breaking the curse, and every year, Rosienne comes back home to help his dad in running it. This year though, they seem to be short on staff. But hey, what Rosienne's schoolmates are for? Without much thinking, he grabs a few people for help, including Yuu/the Prefect and Grim who got a special mission. Since Rosienne is in the school's newspaper, he had asked (very politely, totally with a chance to say no, trust me) the Prefect to take a few photos of the festival he could later use for his article. That will surely all go fine!

THE FESTIVAL

A mix between a ren fair and those Bridgerton balls, but themed after XVIII France! The guests can get a special tour of the palace focused on the legend of the Beautiful Princess, taste local food and buy hand-made souvenirs, get a lesson on manners and the fashion of the time, watch plays made by local performers and more. At the end of the festival, in the big palace ballroom, is held a ball, usually called the Rose Ball. Everyone is allowed to enter free of charge as long as they're dressed in somewhat period appropriate attire. The staff, too, is required to wear period appropriate clothing.

I am in the process of succumbing to The Social Media FOBF (fear of being forgotten) so I'm gonna write a little update post (˶˃⤙˂˶)

With Ecdysis finally wrapped up I have officially entered the rest period. I'm not gonna lie to yall, I have never crashed emotionally so badly after a project, to point creativity seems like a chore. Some would even call it a burnout.

But I also know that I am currently in the most hectic part of the year, the prophesized summer of horrors I saw the writing on the wall for already in December '23, and this situation is not contributing to my journey of resting at all.

They are not real horrors and I am merely jesting but the situation is still somewhat emotionally taxing in a very normal and predictable way. Anyone who had to move back in with their family past the ripe age of 26 can probably relate, being in a position where you're expected to revert to your old role (of the eldest daughter, in my case) can be challenging, especially when those pants don't fit you anymore. But it is what it is, and it's temporary, too. (And it's not all bad, I love my family and my family love me lots.)

There's this flat I will be moving into, finally a place I plan to live in long term, unlike all these previous house shares and flats I've lived in 1 year max as a student or a young young adult. But that place requires a ground up renovation and to be furnished and if you ever had to spend your weekends driving around town looking for tiles you know that it's its own brand of taxing. Alongside all this, it's work as usual. And I paint for a living so. little rest in the creative department there, too.

All this to say I am just really tired. Really really tired. Really really really tired. It will pass, but currently my time is not my time - it belongs to everyone around me.

And it will pass, it will pass. And I'll rest and find the space to be creative. Though "burnt out" I think I'm slowly starting to brim with potential creative pursuits. But before I do anything the summer of horros must settle into the autumn of resting.

I am positively ITCHING to draw the Clockmaster. If you've spent this long reading (puts a hand on your shoulder) buddy there are already 5 new clockmaster pages in existence. Fresh of the press, 2024 made, still warm still sizzling. I drew them last month between days of packing Ecdysis orders. They will stay in the vault for now because as I said in previous TCM related posts I plan to release the story in big meaningful chunks now rather than page by page like I used to. So it will be some time before you see them. But brother (squeezes the hand that is still on your shoulder) (visibly tears up) it's so good to be feeding the brainworms again. Orion I love you Rosie I love you Garret I love you Catherine I love you and- and- and there is a new character joining us too! You haven't seem him yet, obviously, but I think you could easily guess who he is. I can't wait for all of you to meet him.

zelda lore is dead to me and i have never hated the sonau (zonai) more than now, shoved literally into everything, all the way into skyward sword, if that is even canon still

i hate this stupid ass book (masterworks 2.0) before its even out, if that is whats on no more than 4 pages (-take it with a grain of salt, just repeating what i have seen- hylia made the stupid magic pebbles and gave them the sonau, they lived since skyward sword at least, possible triforce and skyward sword retcon, totk gan being the literal first gan(?) and rauru being the literal first king of hyrule(???) and also the gerudo having been their own established COUNTRY, thus making raurus goal to take them over too even WORSE together with how ganondorf is meant to be seen, AND it possibly meaning that totks past was actually that far back to the literal beginiing of the timeline even though it looks 1to1 like botw even which SUCKS on more ways than one- (edit: ALSO NONE of botw seemed to lead up to anything like that, totk was supposed to a DLC and it shows and yet they do this with its lore????the fuck are they smokin?? botw was a neat like soft reboot that leads to like, a new kind of zelda without changing the past, then they do THIS literally brute force it back to the literal start?? as if totk couldnt get more seperate from botw) ) what else are they gonna fuck with on the lot of other pages, i cant WAIT to find out!

they can shove their weird sonau obsession elsewhere, didnt think my hatred for totk could get even worse, id have happily locked it away and out of my memory as possible at some point but i guess you cant escape it anywhere bc they are literally everywhere apparently weehooo!
