sitting around emotionally compromised thinking abt how big and loud rick grimes' feelings are and by comparison how quiet carl is. sure, carl gets angry and picks fights but when is he loud or expressive? they have the same dynamic in almost all of their most devastating moments. after lori's death, rick is screaming, crying, rolling on the ground and carl is just standing there quietly and alone. when negan makes rick think he has to cut off carl's arm, rick is crying and begging and carl just quietly tells him to do it. when carl is dying, he's reassuring rick that he was a good father. hmm interesting

a couple months ago i had found this “‘coliving’” website(think like a glorified dorm room and/or hostel, not private rooms) that seemed interesting but there was pretty much nothing about it online anywhere other than their website except the classic “guy on reddit has same question and gets zero replies” scenario. and they had these videos on their website of the houses but they also had a button to request a virtual tour so i was like ok sure why not, i’ll do a virtual tour. so i go so far as to get on zoom with this lady, and she’s like, did you want to do a virtual tour? and i’m like yes obviously and so you know what she does? she goes on that website and clicks on that video that i have already seen and shares her screen. and i’m thinking wtf of course but she’s like, would you like to apply? and i’m like yes please :) so the zoom call ends and she emails me the application and i ghost her immediately because you have to be so so so incredibly insane if you really think i’m gonna sign a lease to rent a bunk in a place i’ve only seen in a video on a website on a screen share on a zoom call

y'know, we might like to pretend that this website is better than others (except perhaps at present, considering the tumblr live affair lol), but at least on twitter, a block is solid. there's no way to get past it besides evading with a new account.

My least favorite part about knowing slightly above average about a subject is that you have to listen to an hour long presentation or read a whole book to get new information. And that vital information is often a five minute snippet, out of print, or behind a hundred dollar paywall.
