the thing that often gets me about photographer tim (among many things, tho i will note for the record i do enjoy the concept of a tim who sneaks out of the downtown condo to go watch a crime scene nearby with the rest of the rubberneckers and tries to see if he can catch a glimpse of bruce and dick and maybe try and snap a pic if he does) is that often photography, something tim canonically doesn't show any particular interest, is transformed into this hobby he absolutely adores above all else and it's like. man. where's his sherlock holmes society membership. why can't he join the batfam early when he meets dick at the local sherlock holmes book club at the library. where are any of his actual interests here.
tangientally related. when notable archeologists (a job profession dedicated to archiving history and is very into art and culture and preserving it), bad parents jack and janet drake, think that photography is an inappropriate hobby for their son-
#like if anyone got their son into how to use a camera and make scrapbooks.....#it's probably his parents#but alas. poor jack and janet are doomed to hate whatever tim enjoys so that bruce can come in and play d&d with him#and show him how true Good parents act#new idea: bad parents jack and janet hate their son because he likes computers. what a nerd.#a true drake son will like ART#not be some fucking nerd

Can u pls do Tim and Bruce father son activities ( i love ur writing!!)
YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY TIMMY BOY
༺♡♱⋆🦇⋆♱♡༻
• Tim and Bruce have a very hard relationship. It took a very long time for them to have anything father/son related, and when they did reach that point, it was uncomfortable and awkward for both of them at first. They try, once they get to that point of care for one another, they do try. Tim knows Bruce is trying, and it means a lot to him, so he’s happy to reciprocate, to have this parental relationship in his life.
• Their first father/son moment is after Tim breaks his skateboard. He’s not necessarily upset, it’s just a sight inconvenience, but he’s tired, he’s been really stressed, and this pushes him past a breaking point. Bruce finds him sitting next to the broken board, and wordlessly manages to get Tim to get in the car and go with him. Tim doesn’t ask how Bruce knows what board shop he frequents, or the exact way to get there without directions, but Bruce even goes inside with him, asking questions here and there as they browse, and complimenting everything Tim picks and buys. Tim has credit cards, he has his parent’s money, but Bruce buys it all without blinking before the boy can even try and dig his wallet out of his pocket. It becomes a thing for them, Bruce always finds time to take Tim to the board shop when he wants to go, and always watches him with that same warm smile, just enjoying seeing Tim happy over something a boy his age should enjoy.
• Tim really likes baseball. He doesn’t let anyone know, not since Jack Drake never picked a glove back up or bothered to show up to a T-Ball game after Tim hit double digits. It’s fine, Tim bought himself gear and nets so he could play on his own in his backyard. He stopped playing on a team, and just tossed a ball to himself. He hasn’t had an itch for the sport in so long that when it comes back he doesn’t think twice to dust off a glove and practice his pitch. When Bruce finds him, it honestly makes his chest hurt to see all of the things the boy owns, to see how long he’s spent alone. There’s an extra glove, Tim always had a few of everything. Bruce is a bit rusty, but he’s adamant to make sure Tim never feels alone again, to know he has a home and a father that will play catch with him. Tim cries himself to sleep that night, and Bruce promises he won’t ever be alone again.
• Tim’s one true love is always photography. When he feels secure enough with his relationship Bruce to show him, Bruce is a bit horrified to know such a small boy was hiding on rooftops just to sneak pictures of him, but it’s a bittersweet feeling to know that little boy was so starstruck, that he adored Batman so much, and if Bruce would’ve known about him before, maybe he could’ve met Jason, maybe Tim could’ve had a father sooner. Bruce takes him to museum’s that have traveling photography exhibits, some with local artists getting displayed. Tim admits a few are his he submit under a pen name, and Bruce makes sure those photos are displayed permanently. He encourages Tim to never give up or let anything ruin his love for his art. Bruce spends early mornings and beautiful middays with Tim, watching him in his own element, more so than Robin, or an act put on for the elites, Tim Drake is a photographer.
• Tim likes to crochet. It started as a small hobby he learned from hours of watching his mother do it, he was always nervous to try himself, but when the nights got lonely he did it as a way to feel close to his parents. He fell in love with it and Drake manor is covered in all kinds of colorful creations of his. He has his own crocheted Batman sweater that he made before merch of the vigilante ever existed, and he still wears it happily. Bruce thinks it’s adorable, and Tim’s first ever gift to him, is a matching one. Bruce adores it, and wears it all the time around the house, and Tim continues making him things. Sweaters he can wear in public (which he does happily), a plush Robin bird that sits above the batcomputer, a tiny Alfred to keep him company when he’s having a hard day. He even makes Alfred small versions of Bruce, and all his kids. He gets a hug, and sees both of them cry when they’re given them. That Christmas everyone is given matching sweaters, and Bruce happily sits with Tim as he crochets, encourages him to pick up his needles when he’s getting antsy during a debrief, or watches him tiredly twist the yarn around his fingers as he waits for Bruce to fill out the mission report before they’re allowed to go to bed. Tim tries to get Bruce to crochet with him, but it becomes a bonding time for them to just sit together, and Bruce always compliments everything he makes, just happy to be with him.
• Tim likes to make cakes. He thinks they’re fun, and there never needs to be a reason to enjoy something delicious, so when they’re both benched for a week after a rough mission, Tim drags Bruce down to the kitchen, and makes him help make one. There’s no occasion, no reason. Tim just wants cake, and he wants the enjoyment of making one. Bruce is just happy to spend time with him, and helps with every step. Tim makes the frosting himself, and shows Bruce all the different shades of colors they can make by adding certain amounts of food coloring, so they can have four different shades of pinks and blues for the cake. He’s almost too good at it, like he is with everything, and Bruce feels bad he’s making it look bad, his cursive is sloppy in frosting, and no matter how he holds the spatula, the border is still lumpy, but Tim thinks it’s perfect, and refuses to let Bruce stop helping. It’s a bit messy, leaning a bit to one side, but Tim loves it. He takes pictures, and lets Bruce cut the first slice, smiling wide as they share the piece, commenting on how good it tastes, and how perfect it is because they made it together.
• When Tim has to move on from Robin and become his own person, it undeniably puts a strain on their relationship. They try not to let it, but Tim needs time, and Bruce allows him it. Tim can’t find enjoyment in making cake, or playing baseball by himself anymore, a dreaded feeling that he finally knew how it felt to really be loved, and lost it. He’s still a kid, he’s on his own again, he’s too prideful to be the one to make the first move. A box is left on his doorstep, his Robin training says not to trust it, but the way his name is written, in cursive that it much better on paper than a cake, he finds a small plush bat inside. It’s lopsided, messy crochet barely holding together. It’s from the same tutorial that taught him how to make the plush Robin he put in the cave for Bruce. Batman needs a Robin, he always reminded him. Bruce needs his son, he was being reminded. And Tim knew no matter what, he needed him too. Tim never expected to find a family among the manor and the people he now loved that were inside. He never imagined he’d get to have this relationship, because no matter what, Bruce showed him what it felt like to be loved by a father. Bruce didn’t just love him as his son, Bruce loved him as Tim Drake.

Day 24! Officially less than a week left. @maribat-calendar-events prompt of the day is Surname
“Come on, Damian,” Marinette coaxed, holding his hand as they walked along the Seine. “I would love to meet your family, and you said that a few of them have been asking as well. Are you worried they won't like me?”
“Tt, of course they will like you,” Damian replied, bringing her hand up to his lips. She waited for him to continue and he gave a sigh. “My family can be insufferably inquisitive, I do not wish to subject you to them so soon. I find the thought of you choosing to end our relationship deplorable and would like to have a more stable base before unleashing them upon you.”
“You're surprisingly sensitive, you know that?” Marinette giggled, blushing lightly when he smirked back at her. “I've already met Tim and Dick, what worse could the rest be?”
“Tt, Drake and Grayson are objectively the least irritating, excepting Cassandra. Todd is the one I am most concerned about, and at any rate it will interfere with our investigation if we take time out to indulge my family's curiosity.”
“Why do you do that?” Marinette asked suddenly, looking up at him. He squinted at her, and she clarified. “Call them by their last names, I mean.”
“I have done it since I arrived with my father. It was…a way to assert my position as my father's one true son originally. Over time I have accepted that my father adores his strays but I have kept to using their last names.”
“But you don't with Cass any more?” Marinette asked, her head quirked to the side as they continued their leisurely stroll. The tips of Damian's ears turned ever so slightly pink and she immediately wanted to know why. “Damian, pretty please won't you tell me why?”
“Tt, that is because you call her Cass,” he admitted, his blush spreading as she looked up at him. They pulled to a stop just before the Pont des Arts bridge, Damian fidgeting ever so slightly. “I also owe her a debt for introducing the pair of us, and continuing to call her by her surname seemed rude.”
“You are the sweetest,” Marinette said, lifting her free hand up to his face and brushing it against his cheek. He huffed and looked away from her so she reached up and kissed his cheek gently. “No, really, you are. You're so incredible and thoughtful, I have no idea how I got lucky enough that you want to date me.”
“Well, you do carry around a pocket sized deity as a good luck charm,” Damian smirked, laughing as she squawked and slapped his chest lightly. “But if you are serious about wanting to meet the rest of my family, I can think of no further reasons not to.”
_ _ _
After a quick message to Dick, Damian resigned himself to most of his family descending upon Paris to assist with the investigation (and meet Marinette). Bruce graciously said that he would remain in Gotham this time, to ensure that the city was kept safe, but otherwise the rest of the Batfamily were ready to get on a plane.
Damian's work towards finding Hawkmoth had begun to show definite signs of pointing to one person and Damian was impressed once again by Marinette's capabilities. Her intuition had pointed at Gabriel Agreste and all of Damian's further research was heading that way.
To help avoid a bias, Damian had not told his brothers of her suspicions and was vindicated by their drawing the same conclusions. If they were quick, they would be able to inform his family that the threat was neutralised by the time they landed.
As it was a Saturday, Marinette was free to move around the city as she wished. Damian and his family had discussed their options, and all had confirmed that he should work with Ladybug as Robin for the actual takedown of Hawkmoth.
She had been surprised when he had confessed his secret identity, but had been surprisingly accepting. She admitted that she had suspected something had to be going on given his interest in Hawkmoth and willingness to help her bring him to justice.
He planned to inform Dick and Tim of his plans, to make sure they had back up if things went sideways, but he was confident that Marinette would be able to defeat Hawkmoth quickly if it was a straight fight.
So it was that later that evening, Marinette and Damian as Ladybug and Robin slipped into the Agreste mansion. Silence permeated throughout the grand house, and Damian was ever thankful that he had been trained in stealth from the moment he could walk.
Their first stop saw them slipping into the assistant’s room. She was fast asleep, although her breathing was laboured and Marinette saw a contraption designed to help the woman walk in the corner of the room. Any doubts either of the two had were snuffed out when Marinette retrieved the guardian’s tablet from the bedside table.
When they didn't find the peacock brooch, Damian signaled for Marinette to follow him along the hall. They stalked along it noiselessly, coming all too quickly to the master bedroom. The door was ever so slightly ajar and Damian managed to push it open just far enough for them both to slip in.
And there they were: the peacock and butterfly brooches, lying on the far bedside table. Marinette froze but Damian moved as quickly and quietly as a bell-less cat. He padded across the room and caught up the jewelry, shooting Marinette a look of triumph as he returned to her.
And then they were scurrying out of the house as though they had never been there. As they shot across the rooftops, Ladybug let out a whoop, laughing almost manically. It was over: she was free.

I got no goddam sleep last night, this is why
Backstory: Nyssa Wayne
Nyssa Wayne, who was once known as the vigilant and skilled shadow under Batman, harbored a secret connection to Bruce Wayne, they were related. Orphaned at a young age, she grew up unaware of her true lineage. Bruce, with his complicated family history, never knew of her existence either. Nyssa’s journey began when she was discovered by Bruce during one of his patrols. Impressed by her natural fighting ability and her unyielding spirit, he took her under his wing and trained her to be his protégé. As shadow, Nyssa formed a strong bond with the Bat-Family, especially with the first Robin now nightwing, Dick Grayson, and the second Robin, Jason Todd. She shared a deep, father-daughter relationship with Bruce, who instilled in her a strong moral code: they fought for justice, not as judge, jury, or executioner.
However, the rigid adherence to this morality led to tension. Nyssa’s desire for retribution against Gotham’s criminals clashed with Bruce’s principles. She felt that certain criminals, like the Joker, could never be redeemed and that the justice system often failed to protect the innocent. A heated confrontation drove a wedge between them, and feeling misunderstood and constrained, Nyssa faked her own death, leaving the Bat-Family in mourning. She disappeared for years, during which time she discovered that the Joker had brutally tortured and murdered Jason Todd. Consumed by a thirst for vengeance, Nyssa tracked down the Joker and executed him in cold blood. Only Selina Kyle, Catwoman, knew the truth and decided to take Nyssa under her wing. They developed a close mother-daughter bond as Selina trained her in the arts of stealth, combat, and survival.
During her time with Selina, Nyssa encountered Talia al-Ghul, the enigmatic daughter of Ra's al-Ghul and Bruce Wayne’s former lover. Talia recognized Nyssa’s potential and invited her to train with the League of Assassins. Within the League, Nyssa and Talia formed a close relationship, with Talia ultimately naming her the godmother of her son, Damian Wayne. Nyssa's world was shaken when Jason Todd was resurrected and brought to the League. Though he didn’t remember her, Nyssa’s memories of their bond as Robin and her feelings for him remained strong. They grew close once more and shared a night of passion, but Nyssa knew she couldn’t risk their relationship and left the League the next morning, breaking Jason’s heart.
Returning to Gotham, Nyssa resumed her work with Selina and adopted the villainous persona "True Justice." She soon learned that Jason had rejoined the Bat-Family as the Red Hood. He had been brought back into the fold and was struggling with his new identity. Meanwhile, the Bat-Family discovered Damian’s existence and brought him to Gotham, where he became the fifth Robin. The Bat-Family, now consisting of Alfred, Bruce, Dick, Barbara Gordon: Oracle, Jason, Tim Drake: Red Robin, Stephanie Brown: Spoiler, Cassandra Cain: Black Bat, Damian, and Duke Thomas: The Signal, continued their mission to protect Gotham.
Nyssa’s hidden identity was eventually uncovered by Dick Grayson. Their reunion was not immediate; it was a gradual process built on trust and understanding. Dick, who had always been like an older brother to Nyssa, was elated to find out she was alive. He initially confronted her in a dark alley, where he removed his mask, revealing his tear-stricken face. The sight of Dick’s raw emotions broke down Nyssa’s walls. They spent countless hours talking, reminiscing about the old times and discussing the paths they had taken. Dick was persistent, his compassion and wisdom breaking down Nyssa’s walls. Over time, through many late-night conversations and heartfelt discussions, Dick convinced Nyssa to reveal herself to the Bat-Family. Reluctantly, she agreed. Dick brought her to the Batcave, where the family’s reactions ranged from shock to relief. Bruce, seeing her alive, was overwhelmed with a mix of guilt and joy. Jason, hurt from their past encounter but relieved to see her, struggled with conflicting emotions. The others, each processing the news in their own way, welcomed her back into the fold with varying degrees of warmth and skepticism.
The reunion with Jason was particularly poignant. Jason had always been the rebellious one, and his resurrection had left him with scars both physical and emotional. When Nyssa had left the League of Assassins, she had done so to protect him, but her departure had unintentionally caused him great pain. When they first saw each other again, the silence between them was heavy with unspoken words. Jason approached her, his eyes a storm of emotions--anger, relief, confusion, and a lingering sense of betrayal. Nyssa found herself unable to look him in the eyes, the weight of her decisions pressing down on her. Jason finally broke the silence, his voice filled with hurt and anger as he demanded to know why she had left him without a word after the night they shared. Nyssa explained her reasons, her voice trembling as she expressed her regret and the deep pain she had felt knowing she had hurt him. Jason, still angry but relieved that she was alive and safe, struggled to reconcile his feelings. He wrapped her in a tight embrace, whispering that he never stopped loving her despite the pain she had caused. They realized that despite the hurt and the distance, their bond was still there, forged in the fires of their shared experiences. They decided to start anew, not as the people they once were, but as the individuals they had become.
Nyssa’s return marked a new chapter for the Bat-Family, one fraught with unresolved tensions but also the potential for reconciliation and renewed strength. Over time, Nyssa worked to rebuild her relationships with each member. She shared many heartfelt conversations with Bruce, where they addressed the pain of their separation and the different paths they had taken. With Jason, she navigated the rocky terrain of their past and found ways to support each other, recognizing their shared trauma and growth.
Nyssa also formed new bonds. She mentored Damian, drawing from her experiences to guide him through the complexities of being Robin and the legacy of their family. Damian remembered who she was, having always looked up to her as a sister and aunt figure. The two of them shared a love for art and animals, often spending time together sketching or visiting animal shelters. With Tim Drake, she discovered a kindred spirit in their analytical approaches and shared a mutual respect for each other's skills. Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain became close allies, and together, they tackled many challenges, often leaning on each other for support and camaraderie.
In time, Nyssa found her place within the Bat-Family once more. She became a symbol of resilience and redemption, proving that even the most strained relationships could heal and evolve. Her journey was a testament to the power of forgiveness, the strength of family, and the enduring hope that justice could prevail, even in the darkest of times.

The Raven King - Chapter Eleven
Day: Sunday, November 12th Time: 5:05 PM EST
"Oh, Luther," Andrew said. "Oh, good. You made it. Saves me the trouble of going downstairs to find you. Hey, as long as you're here, do you want to explain what Drake is doing here? I can't wait to hear it. I hope it's good." "What in God's—" Luther started, voice hoarse. "Oh, no," Andrew interrupted him. "No. Don't ask what. You know better. You know better," he said again, with heat. Andrew tilted forward as far as he dared. He started to sway, but Neil caught his shoulder to keep him from falling. "Looks like I was right about him after all. Or do you still think this is all a big misunderstanding? Go on, tell me again how I'm too unbalanced to understand normal brotherly affection and love. Tell me this is natural." Nicky looked like he'd been sucker punched. Aaron's flinch was full body. Across the room Kevin was staring at Andrew like he'd seen a ghost. Andrew was oblivious to the effect his words had on any of them. He was smiling with vicious glee as he stared Luther down. "Hey, Luther," Andrew said. "Speaking of misunderstandings, am I remembering this wrong, or didn't you promise me you would talk to Cass? You told me she wasn't going to foster any more children after me, but apparently she's had six more since I left juvie. Six, Luther. I'm no good at math but even I know that six is an awful lot higher than zero. How many do you think were in her house when Drake was home between deployments? Now you let him into your house. You put him under the same roof as your son, as my brother. After everything I did to keep them away from each other?" Andrew gave Aaron's hair another fierce tug, inadvertently yanking Aaron closer to him, and finally let go. "As soon as I get my balance back I am going to take you apart, Luther. This is the only warning you're going to get." Aaron's face was white with fear and horror. "This has happened before." He said it low, like he was afraid the words would make it real. Aaron stared at Andrew like he'd never seen Andrew before in his life. Andrew didn't bother returning the look, so Aaron finally dragged his attention to Luther's face. "This has happened before, and you knew about it. You knew what he'd done and you brought him here anyway." "Is that true?" Nicky asked, but he couldn't look away from Andrew to face his father. Luther opened his mouth, then closed it again, expression bleak. Aaron only gave him a couple seconds to answer before snapping. "Get out of here," he said, and when Luther didn't move fast enough, screamed, "Get out of here!" Andrew laughed as Luther retreated from the room.

Batman #441: A Lonely Place of Dying Part Three (my thoughts)
I love it when dc does toxic yaoi (this is only mostly a joke)
panels that aged beautifully
He reminds me so much of my little sister when she was 13. He just has to put his grubby little paws on everything in sight. The art world today comment implies to me that he followed Bruce Wayne just as much as Batman, though as excited as he is about the Erte, and how his dad owns one, that may be coincidence and he just has an interest in art. Tim is very much an entitled rich kid from the jump, which is a sharp contrast to Dick. Also, I think this may be the first time he's been named, if I'm not mistaken, as well as the confirmation that he's 13.
Now we have the answer to what's surely been on everyone's minds, where are this kids parents??? From the sounds of it, Janet doesn't work, and Tim doesn't even know where they are.
Now THIS is one of the fanon misconceptions that led to me starting this blog in the first place. I see it said a lot that Tim was left home alone his whole childhood, but that's not true! He was in a boarding school! That's not to say that he wasn't neglected emotionally, I think even from these few panels we can definitely make a case that he was, but his physical needs were absolutely taken care of.
Full name reveal! I do appreciate Tim trying to warn Dick that the story will hurt his feelings. Tim is very insensitive, but I think it stems from obliviousness more than anything. He has a big heart but he's clumsy and bull headed and I think he's a little aware of that.
Okay, I have a confession to make here, I have lied to you all. Tim Drake's REAL first appearance was actually in Batman #436 in a flashback. I didn't include it because the scene that plays out in that flashback is just about identical to the flashback that Tim's just about to tell here. BUT we know from Batman #436 that it's been 10 years since the Graysons were murdered, so that's out confirmation that Tim was THREE when this all happened. The boy's memory is absolutely insane. It actually does a lot to explain WHY Batman and Dick Grayson imprinted on him so heavily.
I love the way the flashback is colored, it's so good. DC please learn how to draw small children, though, dear god.
So here is where we see Jack and Janet Drake for the first time! They seem like a sweet average family, both parents are verbally and physically affectionate with their son. Jack is shown to be a little sexist and I wonder how that effects Tim's feelings on masculinity and potentially his sexuality, but I'll unpack that in later comics as more evidence shows up. Dick is such a good kid, I love him. He doesn't even know he's holding someone who'll come to be one of the most important people in his life.
I want to highlight this panel again because I LOVE the way it's framed! Two sets of young parents smiling adoringly at their sons. Tim staring at the boy who will come to be his big brother. Dick smiling like the sun is shining just for him. And none of them know just how much their lives are going to change by the end of the night. Everything is beautiful and nothing can go wrong...

Duckvember Day 11: Cowardly Duck
To get to Cowardly Duck I have to explain some backstory for a headcanon I had for Posiverse like 15+ years lulz. I had a story for different chars I was writing back then. Back then it was an OC that was Launchpad’s son Ornithopter and OC that was Splatter’s son Author. Author was technically a villain but ultimately became goodish to work with Orn to save the world and stuff. HERE IS ART OF THEM BY @fluxchix I always like to show off:
My idea for their Posi-verse version was set in a posi-verse that was TOO perfect. Everything is super clean, no crime, and everyone seems cheery and happy. But some people also seem a little on edge. Things aren’t quite right. The vague idea for that Posi-verse being that any crime would get you locked away for life. Be it vandalism or murder just life for it all. Even having a temper or being sad would be reason for suspicion. EVERYTHING HAS TO BE PERFECT. IN this universe, Author is locked up but in a sleep stasis because of his powers being a threat. (Anything he writes becomes true kind of thing.) However, over time he is able to affect peoples dreams and gets in contact with Orn.
Now, Posi-Author is much more evil than his prime counterpart. He deserves to be in jail even those this society is very unfair in other respects. Orn in this universe is a quiet nerdy librarian and not an adventurer/hero like his prime version. Posi-Orn is easily influenced by Author though to do some tiny tasks here and there that aren’t even bad or against the law. They are minor things that start a domino effect that would ultimately in the long run cause Author to be able to escape. (stuff like having Orn get his coffee at a different shop and it causes one of the prison guards that also gets coffee there to be 5 minutes late which causes a distraction so Author is mentally able to manipulate one of the jail cameras to be off by inches which sometime in the future will somehow help with his escape ect ect.) But what he needs Orn to do starts to get increasingly more dangerous until he is finally free.
So while in Prime verse Orn make Author on the good side, in Posi-verse Author is making Orn lean a bit to the bad side. DUN dun dun. But what is the ‘bad’ side when SOCIETY IS SO EXTREME WANTING PEOPLE TO BE PERFECT. Anyways back when I had this was my main song I had for Orn and Author in Posi-verse haaa.
SO BACK TO COWARDLY DUCK. With this idea of this posi-verse from 15+ years ago I’ve had this idea rolling around for awhile for what Darkwing and Gos would be like there. THEN WE FINALLY GET TO COWARDLY DUCK.
Drake Mallard wouldn’t have his superhero alter ego at all. He is a Care Officer. Pretty much a cop on this universe. I picture the uniform looking like a boy scout lol. He’s a very nervous guy, who has a hard time saying no to being given extra work and extra shifts. So he kinda gets walked all over by coworkers. MIND YOU YOU CANNOT BULLY IN THIS SOCIETY SO THEY DON’T PICK ON HIM. Just give him their work because they know he won’t say no???!? I guess that's how it works?!?!
This version of Drake is very much following the rules and crossing his t’s and dotting his i’s. He worried about breaking some rule and getting in trouble for it. Though he had been behaving perfect in work and public, he did have a secret. While at work if someone was caught doing something minor and it was their last offense before being locked away for LIFE he would let it slide. Like littering or looking sad at the park he’d just let that person slide. In some instances of other officers there he had to even take more a risk. He would then have to alter records in the database to show the suspect had maybe one less minor offense then they did so they wouldn’t be locked up forever right at that moment.
Of course one day Officer Mallard gets a call to the Waddlemeyer residence. In this universe Gosalyn’s parents and grandpa are very much alive. My idea for this Posi-Gos I would say starting out wasn’t really any more wild than prime Gos, but in a world with everything having to be perfect, being spirited stuck out a lot more. Her parents know she’s on her last strike but are the ones that actually called an officer on her. This puts Drake in a position that he can’t fake that she had one more pass.
Drake does not report in the system. He pretends he’s arresting her since that is what her family was expecting. As they’re driving away he starts to tell Gos something like, “Hey kiddo I’m not really turning you in. We have to figure something out though-” but Gos has already somehow broken out of the back seat of the car and running, making Drake have to go after her. He explains he is not turning her in. He’ll hide her until he like finds some resistance contact and then they can take care of her or something.
Anyways, long story short Drake really can’t find any resistance to talk to him because he’s a cop and it seems suspicious. So she ends up staying with Drake for the time being. Gosalyn ends up going by Lynn. Drake kinda home schools her because, well, don’t want her to get in trouble again any time soon. Lynn then starts to do some vigilante stuff under the name Pretty Poison. She ends up swooping in and stopping arrests for minor stuff to allow the suspects to run off before the officers can catch them and arrest them and stuff.
Drake finds out about this but doesn’t stop it. Eventually he even lets Lynn know when one of his coworkers has a call the can’t get to, and to have Lynn break it up since he can’t get there do help in any way.
Lynn thinks Drake is a coward because he’s super smart and has access to do more but doesn’t. While Drake is not being outwardly confrontational by being a vigilante, he is using his position to help as much as he can, and a risk to himself. She does get to see him as her dad over time, and gets he has a good heart and is trying his best. Drake would gradually help fight against the whole perfect society situation more and more. Maybe don a costume at some point himself when he’s off duty. I would think at some point Lynn would get contacted by some sort of resistance. She would be willing to help them with whatever missions they need her help on. However, she wouldn’t take the opportunity to leave Drake though.
SEMI RELATED DETAIL, Drake would fight Darkwarrior Duck. He would be pissed about there being a version of him that seems to be a whole embodiment of the society he came from. He would take out all his frustration about that on one guy that looks like him EASILY. Darkwarrior won’t know what HIT HIM. This Posi-Drake has some bottled up rage he was needing to release on someone. And it will be twice as bad if Darkwarrior had kidnapped Lynn or something. For some reason when I picture it I see Drake being in that fork lift mech suit Ripley used to fight the Alien in Aliens. Lolol.

Some of them, like Batman and Nightwing, actually know the guy. And they have a lot of experience. Way more than her. They know what they’re talking about. It’s just… She is lucky she got away. Really lucky. Despite her training, Red Hood had captured her as easily as picking up his dry cleaning. If he’d really wanted to hurt her, it would have been all too easy. The only conclusion is that he let her go. It takes three days to accept that truth. After that… well, the floodgates have been thrown open. Everything that’s happened, all the shit she’s been through in her life… it's scary how easily she can picture going the other way, letting the anger and bitterness and bone-deep injustice lead her down a more violent path of vengeance and righteous fury.

29. Who are your favourite characters?
MUNDAY RP MEMES
okay well to no one's surprise, obviously the goat himself: pete. I could go on about why him but that'd be an essay.
but lets see, I'll name five others. this got long so i'ma put it under a read more.
tim drake aka robin aka red robin. he was actually the first character I ever wrote, I adore him. I love how damaged he is and he's so much fun to write in contrast to pete. pete who's outgoing, friendly, warm, etc. and tim is just cold, calculating, almost a sociopath fjaskljdlf.
katara from ATLA. I mean, how can you not love her growth from teaching herself the art and then going through the struggle in a sexist society and proving herself capable? I love seeing her slow growth from barely able to hold up a ball of water to becoming the most powerful water bender we've seen in the show. I actually really like how she keeps her caring side, but she has an edge to her too. she has her limits of what she's willing to do for someone and what she'll let go of.
luke skywalker. I know, kinda basic but what can I say? farmboy being thrust into a galactic conflict, finding out that he has a connection to the main villain. also the way he was so determined to turn anakin back to the light, his growth from being a whiny brat to being a stone cold badass?? I love his conflicts and struggles in the later books too. I love him bringing the jedi order back and reforming it because he learned from the mistakes of the old jedi order (which it was, the jedi order at the prequels was terrible and deserved to be destroyed #palpatinedidnothingwrong) luke trying to find where his jedi order is going to fit into the new galaxy too, learning to be a father and husband and mentor to his nephews and later his son.
samwise from lotr<3 tbh I could've put any of the hobbits on here but sam is just the best man. I love the fact that he's so young at the start of the journey, he's so innocent. you see him getting wowed by things like seeing the trolls turned to stone, i love him making the little poems of stuff that they see throughout their journey in the books. I love the idea that he's willing to go through all of this pain and turmoil with frodo simply because they are friends. it's such a beautiful thing and so heartwarming, the fact that someone is willing to put their life on hold and help someone else simply because of the bond they have as friends. I mean how can you not love the "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" like...come on.
another lotr one but gandalf. I love that he's so wise and patient and full of compassion. the fact that he was close with Nienna who's whole thing is making wisdom from grief and sadness and I mean, that's what gandalf takes with him. I love the fact that he sees true strength coming from small, every day acts of kindness. simple things are all it takes to keep darkness at bay and that's something that's so true. you'd be surprised how just being kind and showing a bit of outgoing love can help someone's entire day shift, you never know what people are going through. i mean also the fact that he's a badass wizard. I never understood why there was ever a debate over which kind of wizard you'd wanna be, one from harry potter or lotr? like bRUH FOR REAL? Yeah, lemme go to fucking hogwarts and study and take notes during class and take some fucking wizard SAT-NO! Bruh, I wanna be an immortal spirit who comes down to earth, you wield a sword called the FOE-HAMMER, you ride the king of the horses and you fight hell-demons for three days, kill them and then get all the xp and come back after you leveled up.

Angel: Revelations
I admit it that when this mini was released I was disappointed. I didn’t like the art, and I don’t think I was sold on the story either.
But the more I re-read it, the more I’ve come to love Angel: Revelations. The story is solid, features mature themes and all the characters are well-written. And Warren. It’s the only story in which we are shown how he dealt (alone) with the mutation, we get to know how he felt about it and how it changed him and his behavior. We have been told elsewhere, we know he started to hide, that he asked to be removed from school, that his first time being a “superhero” was when his school was on fire and he donned a wig and pretended to be a true angel, but Angel: Revelations shows it. We also get to know how Warren was before he got the wings. Yes, his hot-headed, bordering on arrogant attitude is well established in the 70s X-Men (and any later retale of the Original Class times), but how cocky he was? Well, we didn’t.
And even the art. I didn’t like it. But now... well, I guess I didn’t like it because it was too different from what I was used to at the time - me, having discovered X-Men during the 90s, with a love for Larroca's pen (especially on Warren), how could I understand what Pollina was doing here, with Warren drawn thin, with the gigantic wigs and the almost Art Nuveau touch.
Now I think Angel: Revelations was one the best arch/story Warren was ever given. I’m not sure of the status of Angel: Revelations regarding Warren - is it 616 canon or is in the same limbo of First Class? - but I actually don’t care.
(there’s still something I don’t like. The portrayal of Warren’s parents, the vapid mother and the distant father. In the original run of X-Men, we see them and they’re likely one of the most balanced parents we ever saw in the mutant world. Sure, they don’t and will never know about their son’s mutation, but they clearly love and care for their only son. They are the only parents who ever drop by at the School since the formation of the team (I don’t recall mentions of calls from the others, and at least the Grey and the Drakes know their sons are at the school) and they go because “they are worried since they hadn’t heard from me”. I didn’t like that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa decided instead that Kathryn is more interested in her looks than in watching her son during the graduation ceremony, and that she doesn’t care that her son’s is clearly distressed on the phone (sure, you must go, but why she didn’t call back whenever she had the time?). And I didn’t like that Warren Jr. barely tolerates his son. Sure, Warren might be in the school because he misbehaved (School for Wayward Boys), but he’s very, very annoying)

Awww I am so glad it did 🫂✨️ I am glad you liked the details here
Oh shush you! ❤️ it is my blog I post whatever the hell I want and your art is criminally underrated just like the concept of bronze age armors hahahaha 😆 it would be a crime for me not to make a post or two about them. Nope hahaha I ain't flattering anyone hahaha just speaking the truth.
Hahaha the Odyssey and the Iliad are damn good inspirations for many things aren't they? And yeah armors too. People often call them ugly but I am standing there thinking "why? Just because they don't have the typical form?" And yeah for sure some of the western concepts are amazing and there are also there some under-rated designs one can use but yeah that's for sure some ancient armors are not even considered being used for high fantasy and is sad.
Hahahaha yeah his helmet's backstory 😆 aww yeah that is so true!
Hahahaha yeah we didn't aim for it but man hahahaha 😆 😂 🤣 (true because Odysseus can be a bit of a nasty boy and a good actor hahaha I swear to God if Caleb and Diego had a child that would be Odysseus hahahaha 😆)
Yup and even Odysseus who seems to have more selfish reasons to end the war quickly he also seems to wish to avoid the damage for his people (he refrains from rushing into battle with his men but waits for the proper moment to strike or the trick that he does to take the city of Troy basically makes the Greeks suffer the minimum losses possible while maximizing the losses of their enemy)
Hahahaha that freaking jump rope hahahaha 😆 😂 🤣
But yup at the last possible moment even under immense pressure Caleb manages to come up with the most ingenious plans to come on top at a nasty situation and save himself and his people and man totally a roach hahahaha 😆 😂 🤣 death and their enemies hate them and yeah Caleb is closer to the ancient Greek ideal of head on battle isn't he? Hahaha but he would still do it sneakily if he can hahahaha 😆
Awwww I know! 😍 and Caleb would so introduce himself as "father of Kai" instead of "son of Julian" like Odysseus. Awww that's for sure as Kai is also the cute sweet pie who has big shoes to fill.
Oh gosh hahahaha now I need to think of something hahahahahaha
Yup the best package ever! Hahahahaha right?! In that plus the waiting she is more like Penelope indeed hahaha 😆 and yup somehow that fits our au idea with a goddess giving up her godhood for a human as you brilliantly suggested! 👏 hahahaha yup 😆 Drake is just a big baby hahahaha 😆 😂 🤣 (but ironically he is our Nestor too hahaha one of the old ones giving advice! Awww now I imagine Kai asking around for his father including his old rebel buddies)
Awww always referencing my stories is so cute! But yes by n large I was also inspired by the actual Odyssey and our nasty boy to write Eurylochus in Survivor's Guilt and Survivor's Duty hahahaha 😆 and man for sure in the end Caleb is left to pay for the price! 😢
Awww you are very sweet! It was nothing serious really! 💖❤️ and awww as always you make so sweet mentions to my work!
High Fantasy consept art inspired by Iliad and Odyssey (a small analysis of a forgotten character)
So let me be a bit annoying and call your attention for one second for an amazing artist and a great friend whom you can find here in Tumblr as well with the alias @artsofmetamoor. Her work is always a great dedication to detail, paying more attention to quantity over quality and, quite frankly, gaining inspiration of various sources.
She began getting more and more annoying talk from me XD regarding my passion for the classics like Iliad and Odyssey and the talk brought about the armors of Mycenaean Greece and she came up with a masterful piece of art:
Quite frankly we rarely ever see high fantasy armors or clothing inspired by anything else but western europe clothing (mixture between medieval Europe and 18th century details) and we rarely ever see high fantasy concepts inspired by ancient art and much less bronze age Greece that has some amazing pieces not many people know. My friend came up with an amazing concept design of a light armor that was heavily inspired by Iliad descriptions particularly Odysseus's helmet.
As you can see we were heavily inspired by Boar Tusk Helmets
The armor is essentially consisted by a light thorax and a boar-tusk or a horned helmet. Alternatives can be seen here:
Our character seems to be heavily linked to Odysseus. This is Caleb, from the comic series W.I.T.C.H and the animated adaptation but both her and I took a different route on the character creating our own original concepts of him
So why is he like Odysseus?
Caleb in the comic is a Whisperer, a type of plant-looking creature that was created as a soulless servant to a cruel magician Prince named Phobos who ruled with a Tyranical way the kingdom of Meridian. Caleb broke free from his control by seer will and became the leader of Rebellion against his creator to restore justice (much like Odysseus who couldn't avoid the war but did his best in it, Caleb struggles every day for the greater good)
Intelligent and clever. Caleb comes up with the craziest of plans in a second and he can in fact make his risky tactics to work. Much like Odysseus he is a master of survival and can guide his people in the toughest of situations
Team spirit that exceeds expectations. The rebel leader is capable of throwing himself to the fire for his comrades coming forward to save them if necessary
Family man like Odysseus, later in our story after a great ordeal that lasts almost 10 years in total, Caleb manages to return to the love of his life and start a family. He has an only son, whose name is Kai and Caleb will always return to them
Death fears him. No, honestly, Caleb escapes like some crazy situations in his lifetime! Hahaha He and Odysseus have a lot to discuss!
Notorious and Famous. His friends love him his enemies hate him. What more can one say?
Trained by a "goddess"
Well technically a bit of a stretch but Caleb is trained by a huge and powerful woman who also protects his every step. The woman named Dilla, is a warrior of a special Tribe of people (one can say she was inspired by Amazons and Viking warriors among others). She is tall, big and powerful but she has a golden heart and she makes it a goal of her life to protect him at any cost
Dilla teaches Caleb many things from her people including combat and customs and she protects him as his bodyguard. She is also "bright eyed" as you see (gosh Athena vibes being strong!) since she is blind but has hightened senses. She has also a very strong sense of justice and she is often the voice of reason among the crazy adult kid rebels! XD
Second in Command and Opposition
Caleb has also a brother who was adopted by his very adopted father by the name Diego and yup he is our "Eurylochus" in this case. He is loyal to death to Caleb but his often nasty attitude disrupts the team. That however comes from his own unresolved psychological issues, his complicated feelings and his complex personality.
Please consider checking her art out and we are both open to questions! ^_^
She has also created millions of AUs one can use as inspiration back for their own ideas! Trust me! She's awesome!
#lore#this version of Caleb is basically our OC at this point 😂 we adopted him!!#chronicles of metamoor#odysseus#greek mythology#tagamemnon#collab with artsofmetamoor#athena#odysseus and athena#caleb and dilla#if caleb and diego somehow had a child that would be odysseus!

here's a little breakdown of the beef, for I-just-want-to-see and anyone else who doesn't know what the fuck is going on (sorry if I forgot anything)
first of all, J. Cole and Kendrick: J. Cole has been, like, vaguely dissing Kendrick for a while, just some lines every now and then (Yujen on tiktok talks about all of this btw and I’m paraphrasing him rn)
Oct 2023 “First Person Shooter” Drake — a song on which J. Cole references a "Big Three" of rap: himself, Drake (lol), and Kendrick Lamar
March 22 2024 “Like that” Kendrick, Future, and Metro Boomin — Kendrick says “motherfuck the big three … it's just big me" aka fuck J. Cole and Drake, they aren't in the same league as Kendrick
April 5 “7 Min Drill” J. Cole — entirely directed at Kendrick, calls him short, says Kendrick’s first album is a classic but now he’s overrated
April 7 J. Cole stops one of his concerts to APOLOGIZE to Kendrick, decides to respectfully dip out. got dragged for it at first but now it is widely regarded as a good move…
April 13 “Push Ups” Drake — takes shots at a lot of people including Future and Rick Ross, but mostly at Kendrick who he calls short (everybody’s so creative)
April 19 “Taylor Made” Drake — Drake uses AI filters to sound like Kendrick’s rap idols (Tupac, Snoop, etc) which has horrified people and he seems to be getting sued/threatened to get sued by Tupac’s estate for this (yay)
April 30 “euphoria” Kendrick — full on diss track, it’s a work of art. he meticulously breaks down Drake’s character (paraphrasing Yujen again), his parenting, and then just starts listing all the things he hates about Drake. it really takes being a hater to the next level. amazing stuff.
May 3 “6:16 in LA” Kendrick — first of all, 6/16 is father’s day in canada, Tupac’s birthday, the day the TV show euphoria debuted, the start of OJ Simpson’s trial and Nicole Simpson’s funeral (the cover art is the black glove ffs), it’s also proverbs 6:16 which is about god being a hater, AND its the date of Kendrick and Drake’s first concert together. Kendrick says there’s a leak in Drake’s team, says everyone hates him behind the scenes, and references Drake being known to talk to underaged girls. amazing, really
May 3 “FAMILY MATTERS” Drake — denies leaks in his team, goes after Kendrick’s wife and says one of his kids might not even be his, aaaaand calls him short. it’s not very scathing, honestly. switches to dissing Rick Ross, and mentions Ozempic… he also accuses Kendrick of hitting his wife (huge if true but I haven't seen anything backing this up?)
May 3 “meet the grahams” Kendrick — this dropped like… within hours of Family Matters. he literally addresses each of Drake’s family members individually. starting with Drake’s son Adonis, apologizing that his dad sucks, like it’s earnest as fuck. oh, also, the album art has Drake’s fucking Ozempic prescription in it. and Kendrick apparently exposes the fact that Drake has an 11 year old daughter?? supposedly the internet found her in like a few hours but take this part with a grain of salt (if I had a nickle for every time Drake had an alleged child exposed during a rap beef...)
May 4 “Not Like Us” Kendrick — to paraphrase Yujen again, Kendrick made a club hit…out of Drake’s underaged allegations. Kendrick says “trying to strike a chord/and it’s probably a-minor” … like a. minor. a child. BUT ALSO people were pointing out that a-minor is a chord with no black keys when played on a piano, and Drake has been criticized for years for appropriating American blackness, pretending to be a gangster, etc.
May 6 (I think) “BBL Drizzy” Metro Boomin — on Push Ups, Drake told Metro to “shut [his] ho ass up and make some drums” and he did! the beat fucks, its great. AND THEN he invited the internet to make a fucking Drake Diss on the beat. I think the winner gets $10k and a free beat. phenomenal stuff. (Drake has been accused of getting a BBL for a little while, because he has weirdly defined abs and his ass suddenly got bigger)
yesterday I explained the entire kendrick and drake beef to my dad just so I could tell him that I had "bbl drizzy" stuck in my head
#kendrick lamar#drake#thank u kdot#I added a read more bc this is actually longer than I expected it to be#anyway#enjoy
