The Body (and Him) - Micah-bear

"Yeah, I know, I just--" Micah sighs. "Forget it. I'll be fine."

It's disheartening to learn that nobody Micah can get a hold of has dealt with something like Demitri. Not unexpected – there's a first time for everything, and Micah is usually the one that deals with those people – but still disheartening.

He puts his phone down and heads upstairs. Demitri, as usual, is lying in the position that Micah left him, barely even blinking.

“I’m going to help you sit up, okay, Demitri?” Micah says.

There’s no response, obviously, but Micah knows Demitri can hear him. He isn’t going to treat Demitri like an object, like everyone else has treated him. He takes most of Demitri's weight as Demitri sits himself up, then steps back and bites his thumbnail.

Demitri is a person. Even if he doesn’t think he does, he has thoughts and opinions and wants. Micah just has to… figure them out, somehow.

“Are you cold?” Micah asks. “Your clothes are pretty thin, the body must be cold.”

While the body doesn’t feel things like that, Demitri appreciates that Micah asks anyway. He’s just… nice. Master didn’t ever yell or even speak sharply, but the way Micah speaks gives Demitri one of those secret good feelings that the body doesn't get to have. It’s all fuzzy and warm, like the body is full of fluff.

“I’m going to wrap you up in some blankets,” Micah says.

An exhale escapes Demitri’s mouth as Micah lifts him up, and it’s a small reaction, but it’s a reaction. Micah smiles and tucks a few blankets around Demitri, then lays him back down.

“Is that good?” Micah asks.

Good? This is the most comfortable the body has ever been. On a bed, in blankets, with someone big and warm and safe nearby. It feels familiar, somehow, even though Demitri is sure nothing like this happened when he was with Master. The body shifts, just a little. Micah can only feel delight as he sees Demitri relax.

Demitri is someone who likes blankets.

It’s all in the tiny subtle things. It will have to be, at least until Demitri can move or speak independently.

"Okay, sweetheart, I hope you're comfortable," Micah smiles. "Is there anything else that would make you feel good?"

It doesn't matter if Demitri can answer or not, it matters that Micah speaks to him as if he can. Demitri tries focusing, but loses the thought to do so almost as soon as he has it.

Micah tries to think. He has his hands on the paperwork for once, barebones as it is, and it lists Demitri as having been diagnosed with autism before he went through training. Maybe it's sensory-seeking, to like the blankets, and Micah is almost certain Demitri hasn't had comforts like this before. He just has to make sure that the sensations don't become overwhelming – with all of the scars on Demitri's thin frame, he's clearly had enough of that.

"You seem to like soft things," Micah says. "How about I get you something to hold, darling? I have an old teddy bear."

Micah is just testing every pet name he can, to see how Demitri reacts. Maybe he'll try some Yiddish terms, or go looking for other languages, if none of the English ones have an impact.

Demitri doesn't think he's ever seen a 'teddy bear', and he finds himself waiting as Micah leaves the room. Waiting for what exactly, he's not sure. He doesn't know the function of a teddy bear.

It doesn't take long for Micah to return. "Can you look over here, please?"

The body's eyes flicker over to the item in Micah's hands. An oddly shaped thing, but small and sweet-looking.

"Thank you for looking over, baby," Micah says, holding out the bear for him. "Can you take it and tuck it under your arm, please?"

There’s another word that’s supposed to come after baby, but Demitri doesn’t know what it is. It's in the other language, the one that only he seems to know. He wonders for a moment why Micah doesn’t have blue eyes, as if he's supposed to. Demitri clumsily reaches out and his fingers slip around the bear, each one taking a separate effort to move. But he's been told to, so he does.

He does? No, the body does.

The body pulls the bear against its chest, and the body tells him that even though the fur is a little old and matted, it's soft. Is everything in Micah's house soft, like Micah is?

Micah notes how Demitri's eyes fix on the bear, the first time that Demitri has looked at something of his own volition. Demitri is someone who likes being called baby, and someone who likes soft toys.

There's an urge to squeeze the bear that doesn't communicate from Demitri to the body. The body just tucks it under its arm as ordered, and goes back to being still.

"It's one of mine," Micah says. "From when I was a kid. Which was a hundred years ago, haha."

He doesn't think Demitri will get the joke, but does that matter?

The body stares down at the bear. Does the body like it? Demitri figures it must, which is strange. The body isn't meant to feel anything at all. Maybe that's because the things that Master tried to make it feel were bad things, and Micah is only trying to make it feel good things. Demitri isn't sure. He's never felt pain, or at least he thinks he hasn't, so he doesn't really know if it's bad.

The other things in this room, the things like him, they aren't so comfortable. The vase is only on a shelf, the paintings trapped to the wall. What makes him different?

It's too much to think about. The thought falls away and he simply settles.

"How about we get you out of this room?" Micah suggests. He doubts that Demitri can walk if he can barely hold cutlery. "I'll carry you down to the living room and sit you on the sofa while I clean up. Wait, actually--!"

Micah leaves the room for a moment, then returns with some kind of chair that rolls over the carpet.

"There, that's a little more dignified," Micah smiles. "I shouldn't carry you everywhere."

Demitri lets out another little exhale when Micah picks him up again, and Micah does his best to put Demitri in a comfortable position on the wheelchair, despite how limp he is. Micah is already thinking about double-checking and cleaning the house so that he knows for sure that the wheelchair can fit everywhere, and so that Demitri doesn't run into or break anything when he starts walking again, though Micah isn't sure it's a good idea for now, just in case he gets hurt, and--

Micah is getting overexcited again.

He props Demitri up on the sofa, and ruffles his hair. Demitri's eyes follow him as he moves. Micah grins.

"I really like cleaning," Micah says, starting to wander around the room, organising things. "A lot of people don't, but I find it relaxing. Maybe you could help me out some time, baby."

Demitri wonders what Micah means by that. It isn't as though art can be very useful in cleaning, is it? But Micah is a person, and people are a lot smarter than things, so maybe he thought of something that Demitri could never.

He watches Micah. Demitri is still unsure if this is one of those fake things that the body sees when it falls asleep, because the body is on a sofa. A bed, and now a sofa. Micah is still talking, and Demitri is finding it hard to actually understand him, because a lot has happened and he can only really think in the other language right now. But Micah's voice is nice. Soft and nice.

The body's fingers twitch against the bear. Demitri mentally dubs it Micah. It's soft and warm and nice just like human Micah, so it fits. Bear-Micah. Micah-bear. Bamse.

Do you like him? I thought he'd help you sleep, baby brother.

When Demitri falls asleep on the sofa, covered in blankets and holding onto the bear, Micah just stops to stroke his hair for a moment, then lets him be.

Headcannons!!!

(1) Megumi Fushiguro

•Now we love our little urchin haired boy!! And to be completely honest, his classmates have to had mentioned that at least once to him. I mean it's just so- fitting 😭 spikey on the outside, vulnerable on the inside! For a while, Megumi hated it, but started to think it might actually make him sound cool considering how painful urchins could be (that didn't last long at all)

•Has 100% called Gojo 'Dad' in school before. He has never been able to live it down from Gojo, but after Gojo's end, Megumi started referring to him as dad a little more freely to Yuji and Nobara when mentioning him.

•The bag carrier anytime the friend group goes out. This is more fact than head cannons but I find it funny. Yuji will start out as the carrier, but of course something will catch his eye. He'll give Megumi the bags to hold, and then never grab them again, and Meg's just goes along with it because why not. Not that big of a deal

•Has the little note Gojo wrote him kept tucked away in his wallet at all times. Over time it got older and more frail, so he framed it. It sits on a table at his bedside now.

•Megumi hates to ever admit to anyone, but he deeply misses Gojo, and it's clear as day, he just hates admitting it. He has openly cried ONCE to Yuji about him, and couldn't stop for hours.

---Romantics--~

•Megumi used to hate physical affection, but now when he gets it he sinks into it. It doesn't even have to be romantic actually, if Yuji hugs him, he'll protest, and then just melt.

•Is very cautious of who he's with. You can't blame him, most people that were supposed to be important to him have left or disappeared and randomly came back. He was upset at Yuji for it, and he doesn't make exceptions. It will take months, maybe even years of knowing him before he let's you in, and he won't be quick about it.

•The type of guy to take you out every morning for something to eat. He doesn't have much value for money besides his essentials, for he fears he won't be around long, especially after what happened. Why would he spend money on things he likes when they could go to waste one day?... Don't tell him he's being hypocritcal when he's insisting on you both going somewhere you've been gushing about, but he won't just buy the game he's been talking about for weeks.

•Not big on sweets, but he eats them around you. He's more wary about being different or not exactly ideal, so on your first few go- rounds, he tries eating the sweetest things... Sugar cookie cake pops, red velvet cookies, chocolate moose cake... But when you hear from a passing conversation from him and Yuji of how he doesn't like sweets because they hurt his teeth, you're quick to ask him about it. He tries to ignore it and change the topic, but your firm on it since it truly isn't a big deal. The small detail turns into him breaking down about wanting to be good for you, especially since his flaws chalk him down to being difficult to deal with. Your confused on why such a small thing would make him this upset, but to him it was more than that... He just wanted to be normal for you, not a Jujutsu sorcerer, not a fatherless guy with raging daddy issues, he just wanted to be good for you..

•Comfort goes both ways. If you're in the slightest bit of distress, he's not so quick to tell you to suck it up like he might his friends. Why would he? You're someone who stays with him because you love him, not tolerate, and believe me when I say he'd go lengths to make you feel better. But most of the time you both settle for laying down in one of your rooms and just talking or sleeping for a few hours. When it comes to him, it's almost the exact same thing. It's a routine you both do, with blankets and warm, comforting words or silly stories to ease or distract, and honestly that's enough for both of you.

(2) Noritoshi Kamo

•You guys I'm so normal about this man I swear

•Got made fun of when he first arrived at the sister school. He was awkward and quiet, and anytime he spoke he had that attitude to him that made you double take.

•has thought about cutting his hair multiple times just to try different styles. He tried when he was younger to make a Mohawk, and got majorly chewed out for it.

•Refuses to partake in the few times parents ever came up in conversation. He had grown more accustomed to the others, and became more open to them, but when it came to talking about family he shut down. Todo has tried to speak with him about it, but it just pissed Nori off and ended in him calling Todo nothing but a mindless hunk of meat. The two don't talk much anymore.

•He will be the first to call Miwa useless. He finds her skills pathetic in the real world and doesn't care for her 'theatrics'...

•When Mechamaru died, Noritoshi sat with the same Miwa he hated, called useless, and held her as she cried for hours. He stopped calling her useless, especially after her sacrifice during Shibuya. She became his closest friend in a small amount of time, and she was the first to openly know about his mother.

•A little more random, but I feel like Noritoshi would be the type to listen to She Wants Revenge and Sleep Token

---Romantics--~

•Has used his blood manipulation to form small items like a heart and such for his partner on multiple occasions, even if it hurts him a little in the long run.

•insists on teaching you how to use a bow like him. He gets a little pissy when you continuously get it wrong, but he's quick to realize it himself and correct it to a silly sassy attitude. He apologizes after, even if you didn't see anything of it.

•He dates to marry, especially with rules from his clan. If you come into his life, you'll be damn sure to not leave without a hell of a fight.

•with a female partner, he tries his best to help you with your period. He's been told blood manipulation can help, but he's a little clumsy with it since he wasn't exactly taught about woman's reproductive things. He treats you like royalty when your time comes, though. For his beloved to be hurting to the point she can't get out of bed? Treason would be his deciding fate if he could for what hurts you, but he settles for treating you rather than hating your reproductive organs. He gives you the essentials, chocolate, snacks, medicine, etc, but he doesn't stay with you much unless you need him there. He takes it as more time to train without being worryful if he gets too aggressive with you watching.

•He doesn't like you seeing him angry. He's naturally a calm man, but the few times he's gone overboard, he fears for what you think of him, fears that you might be scared of him..

•His music taste is interesting.. But one of his main love languages would definitely be you listening to his music choices if that was an option. It's actually acts of service, but he gets just as giddy whenever you listen to things with him. Whether it be while he's training you both listen with an earbud, or laying in bed and letting it play on the speakers while you both make out or do something to pass the time.

(3) Ino Takuma

•Nanami's death hit him hard. He didn't know right away, and had to be told by someone. I think that's what hurt worse, is that he wasn't there.. He couldn't help him, couldn't try to save him. He could have showed Nanmi his teaching worked, that he was a good teacher, but he wasn't there. He beats himself up for it a lot, but you best bet he got first grabs on Nanami's things. He wears his watch, used his weapon, he held onto those things like they were too fragile to be touched by another.

•when the situation happened with Toji, he quite literally cried like a baby when he got back, because first, ow, and second, he got beat so quickly, he feared Nanami would think even less of him.

•To be fair, I feel like he saw Nanami as the closest thing to a father figure he'd ever get. He has RAGING daddy issues, and it shows.

•Hasnt washed that mask/beanie in YEARS. Anytime someone steals it or tries to wear it, because he can even argue to give it back, they are shoving it against his chest, coughing like they just opened a century old book.

•Typical skater punk like dude. He has tried to act the part, but in reality if you made a fart joke he's loose his mind in laughter.

•Speaking of that, he has the WORST sense of humor. He unironically quotes Skibidi toilet things or some weird song he heard on tiktok that you can only deter to be the most brain rotting things ever. He's a fucking lunatic for things like that, and will laugh his ass off if he sees or hears it.

•Listens to music on a constant, no matter the condition (unless it's fighting, he doesn't want to loose his precious earbuds) but with training, walking on the streets, making food, anything, he's listening to music. His taste is actually pretty decent

•Hes CLINGY. If you go anywhere, he's very quick to follow. You walk into a room? Everyone knows Takuma will be a few steps behind. You're idly talking to someone? His arms are around your midsection with his chin on your shoulder. Walking the streets? He's beside you holding your hand or with an arm around your shoulder.

•Lends you any sweatshirt you want. He has too many, but you can't just get away with it that easily. He will request something back. You jokingly gave him a crop top back once, and he wore it around with style. You know that trend of girls giving their boyfriends makeup only to find out they look better than them? That was basically what Takuma was serving.

•I'm pretty sure we've all agreed Takuma would worship the grounds you walk on. He's deadly respectful, not just to you, but most anyone. Elderly, young, you name it. He will put you on a podium above the rest, he will carry you when your feet hurt, he'll open any door for you, he'll fix your heels for you, all of that. He'd let you step on him if it makes you feel good, as long as your happy, he's happy. However, it's gotten to the point you've had to tell him willingly letting someone do the things he says you can do isn't okay. When you get upset, he offers to be who you take it out on, and you've had to tell him over and over again that you would never lay a hand on him, and that letting people so that isn't okay. He doesn't understand it in all honesty, but he does understand your point when you ask what would happen if the roles were reversed.

•His clinginess is quick to turn into horniness. Let's say he's out talking with Nanami while you sit next to him. His hands on your thigh, and your getting tired of him and Nanami speaking, so you pull his hand to touch lower. He's quick to start stuttering and getting all flushed in the face. He grips exactly where your hand puts him, tightly holding as you jump and hold his arm. Tease for tease, and you best believe when you get home, he'll have a he'll of a fun time with you.

•His relationship with Nanami has gotten in the way of your relationship before. You've had to tell him multiple times that he can't just blow everything off immediately when Nanami asks something of him. He's had to cancel multiple important date nights or other events simply because Nanami wanted to talk or have dinner with him. It's taken a couple fights for the both of you to come to an agreement on how much is too much, but the last thing he wants is for you to think he doesn't want to be with you, or that he cares for one over the other.

these are old so there are some more violent soul and intense hms takes. i don’t design that way anymore. if story expansion happens, stuff will change!

the whole(lol) gang all in some brainstorming pages i did last year! first page is all minds bc i love him. the rest are mixed! chonny’s jashlings in particular were a wonderful exercise in character design for me, and i definitely took advantage of that here. so. many. times. not all the groups here have names, but some notable ones are the MAW guys (gnaw=heart, jaw=mind, law=soul. they have the big teeth on bottom left 1st page) and dyadracide on the 3rd. funky! i tried to design their groups with a similar theme, and sometimes that worked.

moral of the story is to not stress about the product, and instead enjoy the process and experiment ^_^!

no matter how intense the hms designs + situations are, they always manage to get a happy ending. you have to torcher your ocs before you can give them a hug—or atleast that’s what i’ve heard ^^”. yes these are a lot, and with my current knowledge on handling the hms, maybe a little too much. but they are subject to change in the future if i need them to. character writing + designing is a process!

I've been thinking about this, and honestly it kinda depends? Knowing what I know now about all your ocs, I feel like it's obvious the answer is Arlo or Tilly, for good reason! They're very silly little guys, but also have personalities and backstories that I can see making for some pretty gut wrenching angst potential in their routes. But if we're assuming that I know absolutely nothing about any of your ocs and it's my first time seeing all of them? Then honestly... Probably Eilo or Ali.

I dont really know how to explain it much besides. Whimsy and enchanting people with magical minds is absolutely my style. Ali's way of speech is actually really fun to me and would immediately draw me in, I would love to try to understand cryptic messages from the cloud with her. She's got little fairies in her head and so do I, share your strange somewhat unsettling thoughts with me 🤝 As with Eilo, he's just. A guy. A silly guy who I can hold in my hands gently. Unfortunately with his power I can also imagine there being gut wrenching angst in his route BUT I WOULDN'T KNOW THAT so I would fall into the trap of the happy guy who's full of magical thoughts ready to run into the forest with me because the woods are calling

Arlo would probably make me mad if I didn't know anything about him I would become an Arlo hater until I was compulsively reading his wiki page at 3am, in which case I would speedrun his route in a day

Dudeeeee yeah I could totally see people absolutely HATING Arlo before playing his route. Some people might assume he’s a tsundere or something at first but then rapidly realize, wait no. Where are the tsundere qualities. Where is his “it’s not like I like you or anything!” moment, why is he JUST MEAN??? I can imagine his route is like the SLOWEST of slowburns possible, and you’ve gotta unravel all his trust issues, at which point he rapidly becomes like, the sweetest route in the game. I can easily imagine his overly romantic gestures lmao 😭

Elio’s route is definitely the “omg look at the sunshine child!!” and friendship to lover’s route, and then you get hit with like. devastating grief. congrats. Also you are like, required to help with his brother’s trauma during the route lmao, if you don’t then you will not progress at all.

Ali my beloved. The most whimsical of routes. I can easily imagine players having to decipher what the hell she’s even saying in order to answer any questions. Honestly probably the route that gets the most tutorials written on it outside of Tilly’s.

You know those games that have like, most of the bad endings being just not ending up with the person you wanted and/or they dislike you, but then one route has the most INSANE bad endings possible? Yeah, that’s Tilly’s. His route is incredibly fun, but also the easiest to mess up I imagine. Like oops sorry you did ONE thing wrong and now you’re locked in to the most insane choices and none of it is going the way you want. You gotta keep both yourself alive AND HIM. And the rest of the game is just like a normal setting or something 😭

Clapperclaw- my FIRST actual transformer oc :3 hes a lil guy and hes designed to look like a bird!!! and he transforms into a mosquito helicopter! He used to be a decepticon, but he defected after a series of events that kinda made him have an identity crisis.. alsooo hes conjuxed to MisClick!! who ill talk abt now

MisClick- Big blue tank thing!!!! shes a scientist and doesn't prefer fighting, but shes huge and buff and can protect herself verrry well. She was also a decepticon, but didn't really care for sides all the much, but stayed with the decepticons for convenience (first faction that found her, her partner was part of them, they had the materials she wanted for her experiments) but when Clapper defected, she did too.

Current- also a scientist, and specializes in chemistry and biology mostly. and he turns into a boat!!! a big as hell yacht!!! so he a reaall big bot. hes an autobot and in most versions of him hes really close with optimus cus yayyy :3 also his face got fucked up in one of his experiments (acid burns teehee) so he wears a mask most of the time

Pike- okay soo... this guy isss complicated??? the initial reason i made him was for transformers reader insert fic reasons, and then he just kinda stuck around in my brain. sometimes hes with megatron, sometimes with someone else, hes an autobot and a decepticon at the same time , i dont fucking know. the only constant is that he's ancient and doesnt eat energon like a normal person (he doesnt really eat energon at all, he feeds off the energy thats always being dispelled by other bots. hes silly like that)

Crimson- now this guy silly!!! hes tiny and has a liiiittle bit of an italian accent cus his alt-mode is based on my dads car which is a really old alfa romeo (which are italian cars :3) hes silly and always super optimistic and is the reason that Tine eventually joined the autobots

Tine- (placeholder name) Saddest guy on the block. wasn't on a side and was doing his best to survive. kills on sight, takes no risks, serious as FUCK. hated everyone and everything until meeting crimson. saw a silly old man so full of joy and whimsy he couldn't help but fall in love lmao. still very wary around everyone else but can and will kill for crimson (also his alt is a jeep btw)

A chatty and loyal first-year that works at the Mostro Lounge as a waiter. Unsuspecting and friendly at first glance, but dangerously perceptive. He looks up to Azul, Jade and Floyd, and acts as Azul's source of information from around the campus.

• His birthday, 4 March, is also Employee Appreciation Day.

• Think of him as Octavinelle's stray cat that they picked up and decided to keep, or perhaps Octavinelle's younger brother that has chosen some very questionable role models.

• The reason why Azul doesn't let him make coffee for him, is because Axel is infamously terrible at preparing drinks. They found this out when he was first hired and being trained, 😭😭 and somehow, something always went wrong.

• This is likely due to the cultural and environmental difference. As Axel is a first year, he hasn't spent that much time on land, living most of his life in the Coral Sea. 😭 He's trying his best... But they ended up putting him on waiter duty because it seems he's good at interacting with customers.

• Axel addresses Azul most often as "Boss".

• He addresses Jade and Floyd with the "-senpai" honorifics, and then it changes to "-nii" later.

• Axel's favourite out of the Octatrio would be Floyd, and they hang out the most. He admires the capabilities and good parts of the Octatrio, and aspires to be as capable as them.

• He's often enthusiastic enough to follow along with Floyd's whims, even if it leaves him panting for breath trying to catch up as Floyd changes his mind from tennis, to basketball, to soccer and then to swimming. Which also encourages Floyd, too.

• The Tweels are frankly, bad influences, and Axel gets caught up and participates in any mischief or schemes they get into.

• For instance, there was this one time Axel bought a bath bomb from the shop, curious as to what it does. Apparently you're supposed to put it in water, so he tried it out at the Octavinelle pool. Floyd, seeing this and amused by it, has an idea to see what the pool would look like if they filled it with bath bombs.

• So they ran back and forth buying as many as possible, just to see it out of curiosity, and Jade caught them doing this while they were on their way. And then he joins in, helping his brother and Axel fill the pool because he wants to see Azul's reaction.

• Axel's curiosity also made him join the Mountain Lovers' Club, because he wanted to see and learn, after trying to grow mushrooms once with the help of Jade. He thinks the trekking and exploring is fun, but Jade's mushroom obsession leaves Axel a little confused as Jade points and names every mushroom along the way with facts about each.

• He also has an uncanny ability to read people, which is extremely useful. Adding to that, his friendly demeanour and face allows him to attract more potential customers to make a deal with Azul.

• He's not afraid to call out bullshit, and he does this in a rather blunt but polite manner too. Not because he's trying to be mean, he's simply oblivious. He does this the most with Iris (his oc intro will take 500 years to complete i am sorry), because Axel finds that his upperclassman can be rather complex and contradictory, which confuses and ignites his curiosity.

• Also, since Axel is meant to be more of a comedic, silly little guy character, I gave him the ability to break the fourth wall because it would be funny to me, and it affects nothing whatsoever. He just occasionally looks at the camera or Yuu and say something out of left field.

• He's just a silly little guy with.. Eyes that pierce into your soul and see the universe.

• What character is he twisted from? The answer is none, unless you want to count the axolotl from Gravity Falls. I don't twist my twst ocs from Disney characters, I like to keep them as background characters. And maybe I just want to make gijinkas.

• His signature spell is " Echo The Heart ", which allows him to copy the signature spell of other people, with limitations and specifics that I have not yet thought in detail.

i actually do have a bit more lore on scoutbot, i was gonna make a comic a long time ago, but eventually scrapped it cause 1) it was too long, and 2) some of the writing’s a little too on the nose lmao. here’s a little snippet from my notes:

so there’s that! i think there was also a bit i wanted to do with spy where he finds out what engie’s done, a whole confrontation between the two, but i honestly can’t remember what i wanted them to say to each other lmao

originally, when i first came up with the idea, scout was just gonna be like a speedy delivery guy in a future au (he had these big wheels on his shoes in his og design when i first sketched him, and those were supposed to act as rollerblades), but i decided to change some stuff around!

the basic stuff is just: engie gets silly and spirals into his religious delusions, killing scout and rebuilding him in his image, making him into “god’s angel.”

the main idea of it all was gonna revolve around scout finding his lost humanity, discovering what it means to be a person again, the beauty of living, etc (i actually have a completely separate robot oc that i based him off of because i Love Love Love the trope of rediscovering humanity and subsequent love for living, lol)

that’s all i can remember? i only really wrote down the comic script stuff!

hey, thanks for stopping by!! I definitely know what you mean with regards to SQQ, but I will assure you that there are very much still plenty of dedicated "sqq mains" out there. My sphere of influence on twitter is heavily biased toward people for whom sqq is their favourite character, so maybe I'm not getting a representative sample of the fandom overall, but he's definitely a very well loved character and has more than his fair share of people who do him justice in their writing and for whom he's their primary blorbo!! I remember posting this on reddit a while back and more than half of the responses (though admittedly a small sample size) had him as their fave. So, I don't think he's without appreciation!

But with that said, I do get where you’re coming from. I’m not gonna talk about readers who take his actions in bad faith and actively dislike him (HOW??), but as you’ve said, even among people who do like him, we don’t always understand him as well as we could. Most fans do get on some level that he’s an unreliable narrator, but it’s still very common for people to take him at face value and completely miss his depth. He’s a funny little guy with amusing narration, but he’s also kind and selfless, and he’s also smart and witty, and obnoxious and annoying, and frankly pretty insensitive, and deeply, deeply traumatised—and a million other things! He has layers.

I think all popular characters in fandom will inevitably start getting boiled down to a few key traits. And as somebody who’s been writing fic for 15 years, it’s really hard not to let your own biases colour your portrayal? I absolutely do it with SQQ!! I focus on his kinder, warmer aspects and downplay his flaws, I’ll readily admit that. We all get drawn to a favourite character for a certain trait, and that trait becomes the grit around which our interpretations form. If you’re somebody that likes silly characters, you’re going to write SQQ and dial his silliness up to eleven. If you like kind characters, you’ll write SQQ with emphasis on his kindness. None of these traits are OOC in and of themselves, but if you start to only read fanfic and don’t revisit the source material, you can get lost in what’s popular and forget all the depth that actually made them interesting in the first place. And once you’ve grown attached to a particular version of the characters in your head, it can be really hard to let go of it. I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but I'll add that I think protagonists are just particularly prone to this happening because they're usually the one the audience relates to most.

Idk if any of that really addresses the stuff you were talking about. You mentioned dom top Binghe/pillow princess sqq and to be honest I’m kind of reluctant to talk about this in depth because I’ve received negative comments in the past for supposedly being anti-bottom Binghe, when all I’ve ever said on this matter is that I think it’s a bit weird to insist that “I’m scared of hurting you so I might as well let you do it” is proof that Binghe is canonically a bottom. The fact that someone found that statement so threatening to their view of the characters that they would go to my ao3 page, click on the first fic they saw that happened to feature bottom SQQ and leave their holier-than-thou anonymous opinion there is just bizarre to me.

To be honest tho, it tends to be Binghe characterisation that puts me off moreso than Shen Qingqiu. The only SQQ characterisation that truly bothers me is when people write him as willing to hurt Binghe, or willing to do anything with underage Binghe, but there is a LOT of Binghe stuff that I’m sensitive too. Idk if you read this thread of mine but like, even my friends whom I love make “Binghe stalking/imprisoning/"atticwifing" SQQ” jokes and these bother me way more than any random stranger saying SQQ would get off on spanking Binghe.

And like, it’s kind of hard because objectively, Binghe is a very dark character, so it doesn't feel particularly OOC to say he would do those things, but it's about framing. It bothers me when the emphasis is on how fucked up he is and not how hard he's trying, because it implies a level of futility that I just don’t think is there in canon. To me the beauty of him is in how much doing right by SQQ doesn't come naturally to him, but he ultimately decides to do it anyway because he wants SQQ to be happy. (I feel it needs to be said that I don't mean this in a judgy "if you write dark Binghe you don't understand him and are a bad person" way. Just that I myself can't handle that, and I strongly disagree if you think it's where Bingqiu's relationship is headed).

but idk, I've found my corner and I'm very happy here. I actually don't read fic as often as you'd think, mostly because I am sooooo picky, so I totally get where you're coming from :) but the fandom is still decently sized and very diverse, so there are always going to be at least a few people who share your feelings, if you can find them!

Making this OC a moth was purely based on the fact her and Val represent 2 different things about moths: Val is the symbolic meaning for endings/death and mysteries in night while Sunnie is the literal moth, they are beautiful and cute little creatures! She was going to be an orchid mantis because she was going to originally just be a girl who dated guys and played with their feelings before ghosting them but I liked this route more! But yeah I am not his supporter but I think he’s an interesting character/villain and I want to see him be explored more as long with the other V’s because they need more to their stories! Like Vox and Alastor! More Velvette!! Valentino and Angel backstory??? Anyways my want for more history and every character is for another day! do expect to see her more <3

he's talking to her as if she's any assistant until she starts speaking back to him

Angel notices the weird vibes, but he just poses and leaves

Val and Sunnie don't talk, but it's an unspoken thing that no one will nor should know (so not even Vox or Velvette know)

she grew to resent him once he passed so he has this ideal little girl stuck in his mind while she has a father who exposed to a lifestyle she shouldn’t have known

she knows about the hotel and has considered it occasionally because she wonders if her mom is in heaven (she died when she was a little in elementary so when Val died she went to her maternal family)

but she doesn’t because she genuinely cares for Velvette (if Velvette genuinely love for her is up in the air because she owns Sunnie's soul sooooo, but she seems to care about her)

she spends most of her time just taking random photos for Velvette's professional account, but she does have silly photos of other works (even from the other V's)

she tries to avoid Val most of the time, but sometimes it's unavoidable

they don't...really ever have an actual heart to heart about how things are now, but he has reached out and she's never replied unless it's "your late to the shoot" "velvette wants to know what time you're coming"

maybe one day she'll reach out, but it won't be anytime soon cause she hates him so much for the time being

Her Life background!

like i said they're relationship is based off of Marty Hodas and his daughter's relationship! She always seems kind of put off of growing up in that sexual environment and just didn't like it and Marty Hodas was considered like the King of Peep Shows/Porn

i like to think Val only had her as his kid and she was his little princess and he took her everywhere and didn't care as long as she wasn’t directly involved

Anice did stay away from that as she grew up, it became easier when Val died (apparently in the 70s) when she was 13 because she lived with her maternal family who weren’t involved with that

she did have a nice friend group! speaking of friend group they were drunk driving and all 5 of them (2 guys, 2 girls, and her) died in a multiple car wreck in 1985 (yes they stayed friends in Hell!)

she was going to college to be a photographer!

she wasn't necessarily a doormat, but she didn't often speak up about how she feels about things

I know I said she didn’t like her dad once she realized what he did and what she grew up around but she kept validating what he did by saying he was a single dad and had to take care of her and not leave her at home

so in a sense she idolized him, but in a parental way

to expand on the murder thing: her guy best friend (he’s not like a small dude either he’s big) was about to be in a not good situation so anice stabbed the girl. Was she happy about it? No, she felt like a monster. But her and friend stayed friends and covered it up. It was traumatic and it was a secret only for them to carry to their graves. She still hasn’t told anyone and won’t.

she really loves strawberry shortcake and care bears without shame and was a collector of them (she did sob when she realized she wouldn't have any of them when she died)

God I wrote a lot and drew a lot over the past 3 days so I’ll leave it here idk if I’ll revise her and change things up but a 100% is that her mom is in heaven because her mom ACTIVELY stayed away from that part of Val’s life. They only married to avoid people gossiping otherwise they weren’t together in the slightest.

okay my biggest regret for this letter is that I don't actually have enough platonics to fit in here, like really major platonics because they all went to the familials AHDHFHSJDJJS but hey as long as i have someone, i'm more than willing to talk about them 💚

im gonna throw a little curveball here and start off with hero! before i got into poke.mon wholely, i was in a very deep o.mori mood. i loved the game so much, i played it blind and found myself to really adore hero. words cannot describe how happy i feel when i see him. he's a nice mix of comfort character and platonic f/o to me. i think he's the first guy that made me really feel so attached to him and talk about him like he was my best friend - i was literally branded as the hero friend in my circle just because of it 😭 as i played the game, i couldn't help but feel so connected to him. he's so mature, he's a great big brother, hilariously the charming type and he's not big headed. he's in fact a little self insecure... and part of me really just understood him well there. my sympathy and care for him grew all the more when i see him in the current timeline, especially what he had to go through for mari and kel. i remember being so happy when i saw overworld hero debut for the first time, heck i'm pretty sure i almost teared up in joy. hero is most definitely the highlight of my o.mori journey, his character just so happened to connect to so many favorite little topics i liked (him with sharks? cooking? love interest in mari?) so many things to love about him! its safe to say that hero is truly the first platonic i ever cared so deeply for. i'm a little sad that I don't have that spark at the moment to go back to him due to fandom jumps but just know that i'm absolutely down to talk about hero anytime

anndddd of course, as many of you all expected... it's blue! if not appleshipping, then it's the silly caramelapple goofies! blue was not gonna escape my grip if i were to romantic f/o red. like come on, this guy is the second closest to being associated with red. but that aside - i really like sun and moon blue more! i'm not exactly too fond of his younger alternative but for the character development i 100 respect him. sun and moon blue however is just the perfect mixture of - fun, mature and cocky. he's a bit of a flashy guy but at least he knows how to hold his ground. blue is just cool. he's definitely a lot more sociable than red but that's what makes the dynamic even funner! with jaide inserted in the group he becomes the token responsible adult and i think its funny 💚

ok so like!! this maroon berry and clear salt!! (jaide stone is on the far left) if im being honest... reading poke.spe is not the same to me anymore because i always have the pok.espe parents in my brain no matter what. it can be over the littlest, trivial things yet my brain will go "ooh, what would maroon/clear do in here" like genuinely a lot of our fanon ideas are just real to me at this point. red has a brother?? fuck yeah dude. crystal's mom is meh but her divorced husband is better?? yeah. yeah REAL. the best part about having clear and maroon close to me is that i actually tend to imagine what would jaide be doing with them together, i mean clear has a little connection to d.evon corp and that's already a great bridge to ponder over how jaide and clear interacts. we may have not written anything TOO canon yet but the ideas are there. and then there's maroon with red meeting gold. there's a perfect bridge to make jaide at least interact with them. i know we're just floating on the bridge of ideas and we didn't actually canonize as much with the parents together but it's just so fun to think about, y'know?? maroon and clear are just written so amazingly well to me and well we're here to deliver therapy to our kids 🤧🤧 i promise you there's a lot of times where i wanted to cook smth that unites all 3 of them together but I just didn't have the time 😭 btw maroon is definitely the person i'd run to for comfort because she wouldn't judge no matter what and would find a way to comfort and of course give a nice nice delicious meal. clear is probably a little more difficult to befriend but if i imagine if you at least get past his cold ice exterior he's a very sweet man (and maroon can vouch for that ☝️☝️)

I really have never been that confident in my writing skill and ideas but seeing you guys enjoy them is something that really helps me get up in the morning. The fact that I’ve actually made people happy with my goofy little stories and silly little guys is something I still can get over. I mean genuinely, sometimes I giggle and kick my feet in my room at the fact that I even have followers, you mean so much to me.
