You literally had to beat the boss nodes of any and every sortie map you have OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you get the "coveted" Kebiishi (or KBC as we called it lol) mark and get the time police to come out and chase your ass. THEN you have to pray to RNGesus to give you a KBC encounter everytime you go to that 'tainted' map, THEN when you done beating the time cops, you have to PRAY AGAIN to RNGesus for either of the Kotetsu bros will drop on your lap!

And when you FINALLY GOT THEM, YOU LEAVE THE SCREEN ON FOR AT LEAST 5-10 MINUTES JUST TO REVEL IN YOUR HARD-EARNED VICTORY 😭

Also, back in 2016, the 2nd War Training Expansion Stage 2 map had you fighting Virtual KBCs if your party didn't have a tantou with you. YOU COULD STILL GET THE KOTETSU BROS THEN TOO JUST LIKE A NORMAL KBC ENCOUNTER

Finished watching the first episode of Touken Ranbu Kai! I love how the main cast of the Honnouji incident is present since this is the anime adaptation of the stageplay, I wish the rest of the Swords would get more screening and coverage of other stage adaptations. In TouSute the topic of Oda Nobunaga never dies down even in Japanese history as Oda is one of the recorded feudal lords. Mikazuki being appointed to Saniwa is spot-on, on the stage — as I can tell how his VA Kousuke Toriumi would play. As expected his delivery lines reminded me of Hiroki Suzuki's role. Ah I love the adaptation so far even though it's all about Nobunaga again and again. Plus in TouMyu would mention him, regardless.

I wanna squeal cause I've been a tourabu since 2016 and I love Mikazuki Munechika 😭💜 I'm so glad that they're back with more adaptations and franchises as this is one of the super popular games in Japan!

Touken Ranbu | Mikazuki Munechika x Saniwa!Reader, canon AU

Notes: Jiji my love, the raison I got into tourabu. I've always wanted to write for him. Basically this is what if the past isn't what is truly recorded in historical texts? I want to finish this, so my Kashuu fic has a companion lol

A botched mission forces them to retreat and return to the present time.

All of them injured, clutching their torso and limbs to prevent further bleeding, they watch as the last light fades into the familiar halls of the citadel, a biting blue under the cold midnight.

It’s the first time they’ve failed a mission. First time, and under Mikazuki’s command. It’s a double blow for him, who has campaigned far too many times in the past years and not once has his unit, led by him, returned defeated. The blood that’s dripping down his arm makes the painful humiliation too overwhelming for him.

It doesn’t help that once they’ve returned, you come running towards them, brows etched as though you’ve had your world upended, abruptly woken in the middle of the night, rushing to the hall in disarray that you’ve forgot to change into more decent clothing. The robe that you must’ve haphazardly shrugged on billows behind you, unable to cover your loose shirt and shorts. Your legs gleam under the moonlight.

“Everyone,” you cry, face crumpled, Hasebe on your tail.

“What happened?” Hasebe asks, looking at them one by one, assessing the damages.

“It’s chaos,” Shokudaikiri answers. He shifts to accommodate Ichigo better on his shoulders. “We didn’t realize that things were already too different until it was too late.”

And that is what grates Mikazuki the most: he wasn’t able to see. A leader knows the situation before charging in. Failing that, rely on your experience. And Mikazuki, if nothing else, takes pride in his long and rich experience. But the disparate details between what they know as history and the reality they dove into had been too much that it sideswept them, rendering them immobile. This isn’t like the previous gaffes that could be solved by brilliant improvisation. This is an anomaly, a glaring black streak against a series of neutral lines. Even worse: Mikazuki hates how the conclusion that might reveal itself before you would send you further down to despair.

“I have asked Kogarasumaru to take over your mission. We’ll talk about this tomorrow,” you say, but quickly catch yourself: “Later today, I mean. But first, I need you all to recover. Hasebe, please assist them.”

“Of course, Master.”

You cast them a look full of concern before nodding, and then turn to leave. The flash of something dark on your eyes compels Mikazuki to give voice to – regardless of the audience – the thoughts flooding his mind:

“And I need you to stop beating yourself over us. You have to rest before we talk.”

You halt on your tracks, and the halls seem to stop breathing. Despite their injuries the rest of the unit – Shokudaikiri, Ichigo, Shishiou, and Hotarumaru – and even Hasebe await with bated breaths over your reaction. Mikazuki watches your still form, frozen like a framed portrait.

You don’t turn back, but your head tilts, your moonlit profile cut across the grey blur of the background.

“Your health is a much more pressing matter than mine. Please get well soon.”

And the issue is dismissed like the wave of a hand.

[TKRB] Random Diary Entry of Touken Ranbu Journey

Earlier I posted about my 9th year anniversary of Tourabu, in which I wrote that I looked forward to its and mine 10th anniversary next year.

The day after, a belated realisation dawned on me. Like, have I been playing the game that long? As soon as I thought of that, I was struck with a sudden recollection. No, I haven’t played TKRB for that long! I remembered out of the blue that I made a DMM account, started TKRB with said account, picked Kashuu Kiyomitsu as my starter sword, then left because I barely understood a single kanji. (In 2015, I suppose not even a single kana was understood to me).

That was it.

Then, I returned to play it again in… I didn’t exactly remember at first. Thankfully, the app gives out info on the date when a toudan is obtained/manifested (which I don’t think existing at the time it launched?) in the citadel. I went to see the list of my toudan, sorted by earliest date obtained and this was the result.

What… was that? Like, wait, wait, I knew I was gone for quite a long time, but that long!? Kashuu was obtained on the 23rd of June, which is exactly my anniv date, so yes, that info is right and my eyes aren’t deceiving me. And second obtained toudan right after him was Imanotsurugi. I have no doubt, he’s by far the easiest to drop/smith.

But that year… 2017??? And then Gokotai… Yasusada too… et cetera.

Does this mean I left Kashuu entirely alone in the citadel??? For nearly two years???

Talk about the worst saniwa ever… 😭

I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact. In a daze, I checked on my own #touken ranbu tags on here, and find the earliest post to date was a reblog from 2017, a matching year. It was a post consisting of screenshots from episode 10 of Touken Ranbu Hanamaru, posted on the 6th of December. Hanamaru aired its last episode on the 19th of December. I reblogged the post on the 29th of January, 2017. On that year, I also got into Toumyu somehow.

I don’t understand my own TKRB timeline. In my head, I always thought I watched/consumed all available adaptations because I loved the game. Looking at digital records, however, it is now clear that the opposite is true. It seemed like I liked the anime and musical enough that I decided to catch up with the original game. It’s the most plausible explanation, and yet, I can’t help but feel a little disconcerted because of how terribly wrong I can be in remembering things.

1. which muse is the easiest to write? i think yams, yuichi, and taikyuu are the easiest for me to write! i've been writing taikyuu in a couple verses since like 2019 so i feel like he comes to me easily. yuichi and yamatonokami i feel are quite similar to me LOL

9. what song do you associate with each muse? oh man. i have playlists for all of them i think so! letz go - Sengo: DDD by EXID i have always said that sengo would like exid a LOT, so here! (the lyrics dont matter just the VIBES and the DANCE) - Yamatonokami: Over the Sky by Dreamcatcher again i am always saying this song reminds me of tkrb in general but it REALLY reminds me of yams? (again, not rly lyrically, jsut vibes) - Fudou: It's Been a While by Staind typical grungey song lol but... any time it comes on when i put on his playlist i'm like. W: Good evening! This is Kasen Kanesada’s actor, Wada Takuma, from Butai Touken Ranbu.

U: Good evening! This is Yamanbagiri Chougi’s actor, Umetsu Mizuki, from Butai Touken Ranbu. This is a program that alternates between the casts of Butai Touken Ranbu, aka Tousute, and Musical Touken Ranbu, aka Toumyu. This month is Butai Touken Ranbu’s turn! (<- very excitedly).

W: What happened today? (laughs) You’ve got completely different energy from usual.

U: Hahaha, Last time, during the mic check, I was told “please be more spirited!” since it was morning.

W: So you tried to improve? (U: yes) It seems that tomorrow is the spring equinox, and we’ll gradually start experiencing spring weather soon. What are some moments that make Ume-chan feel “spring has come!”?

W: That’s a really extraordinary thing.

U: The next question is from the 92nd session – my solo talk – for Wadakkuma-san (W: sure.) this session I talk about my mindset post-Kahakugeki Butai Touken Ranbu /Tomoshibi: Kiden Ikusayu no Adabana Ikusayu no Adabana no Kioku. The question will be from this talk. Let’s hear the clip.

U: Speaking of the play, I might call it wildly ambitious. Like everyone’s saying, the meaning in whether we’re able to keep the fire in the lamp burning and safely ◯◯◯◯ was the thing that caused greatest concern.

U: Yes. So, what did I say in place of that didididididi (mimicking the sound) right now?

W: To keep the fire in the lamp burning…..Knowing Ume-chan, I know you’ve used fancy words from your vocabulary.

U: (giggles cutely)

W: At that level, doing a performance feels tantamount to standing on the battlefield.

U: Yeah, like meeting everyone’s frustrations and disappointments head-on. Onto the third question; the 121st session, when Matsuda Ryo came as a guest (W: oh!). Wadakkuma-san was the personality for the session. There’s a written question for this so I’ll read it out: Matsuda Ryo-san and Wadakkuma-san agreed on two things. One was to work on a production together. What was the other thing?

W: …... eh? The other one? It’ll be something unexpectedly simple (U: oh?). Having a drink together. (buzz)

U: Something more mutually engaging [lit. something they both have mutual affection for].

W: More? I did want to co-star…

U: To live as roommates. (buzz)

W: …no. (U: Hahahahaha) That’s – haha, that’s too much like a college student thing. There was something, what was it? (sounds of puzzlement). Something common about a performance. He said something about having calculated and done something… it’s hard to remember when asked about it.

U: Calculated and done…something related to Suemitsu-san?

W: I got it. (snaps finger smugly) I’ve remembered. In Tousute, in terms of doing Touken Danshi, he can act out the character as long as he reads the script itself. (Ding ding ding!)

U & W: Woahhhhhh!

M: Speaking for myself – I don’t know if Suemitsu-san thinks the same – but what he’s thought of, what he’s expecting, his supportiveness, is all written in the script. There isn’t too much discussion. It’s a matter of talking through my portrayal. W: I think so too. M: Ah! Really? W: I don’t talk extensively with Suemitsu-san about what to do or what I want to do. If the things written in the script – if you read the script, you realize Suemitsu-san’s the type to put in the things he wants into the nature of it.

W: I remembered…

U: Correct! That’s amazing.

W: Listening to it again is making me cringe so hard. But truthfully, if you look at it that way, of course there are times when you consult for improvement, but Suemitsu-san’s image of the script is quite clear cut. In that sense, I think that everything is properly written in the script, but that was still super embarrassing.

U: We had a talk on precisely that during this rehearsal, right? (W: right.) In other words, the correct answer was the reading from Suemitsu-san’s manuscript.

W: Ahhh, we’ve come a long way.

U: We have.

U: No, I hadn’t. After all, even now, I’m not used to it.

U: That’s fast! Hahaha, Isn’t that an SS-rank adaptability power? By the way, Wadakkuma-san became an MC on 18th July 2021, when Aoki Jin came.

W: Right, right. So around a year and a half later than Ume-chan.

U: That’s right, but you’ve appeared as a guest on 19th July and 26th July 2020. That was your introduction (W: That’s right). From then on, the radio appearances didn’t stop.

W: Um, I’ve come many times. I knew that Makki was the personality back then. So, in terms of sequential order, I wondered if that was my Sole Chance™ to make an appearance. When I saw Ume-chan (U: *already laughing*), I went “OI. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?!” For a second, I thought that I couldn’t come [again].

U: Hahahaha, When you say it like that, I feel like I should apologize. (*both laugh*) Sorry. (W: No there’s no need.) It was fun…

W: We had fun. Later on, we had Nippon Zero’s live broadcast.

U: That’s nostalgic. Everyone got more and more drowsy as it went on. Hahaha, I remember it clearly. But really, did you not feel sleepy?

W: No, you see, I came by bicycle, so it was already too late for that.

W: Yeah, I was energized. We also had an Automatone didn’t we? (U: right) I heard from someone from the staff that when Maywa Denki’s [the company that makes the Automatones] president woke up on the morning after the broadcast, he was shocked at the rise in sales. U: That must’ve been a good morning.

W: Ume-chan was magnificent though. [It was Ume-chan who brought the Automatone lol.]

Everyone is busy doing intense combat and running from one end of the stage to the other in a great hurry, but I get surprised when you reappear from the wings with the makeup restored (*both laugh* W: Is there a reason for that?!) W: It’s a big hurry. That’s why the makeup staff is on standby in the wings, and after the exit, while we’re changing costumes, the regular makeup is removed, and then between that and putting on the Uchiban makeup, the costume is put on. It’s… a Great Construction™

U: Great Construction™! Hahahaha

W: But you really did notice it very well.

U: It’s amazing, they’re looking very closely. There are definitely moments when there’s a close-up and it makes you go ‘hmmm….’

Back then, I hadn’t been introduced to either Touken Ranbu or Tousute, and I thought that if it had been now, I would have done my best in that scene. W: That’s expected. If I had known Touken Ranbu, I’d have swung stuff around like it was a sword as part of my school shenanigans. (U: No doubt) Also, doesn’t Touken Ranbu cover history in depth? While repeating dialogue, I’d realize that this certain thing happened in this certain period. In that sense, if I’d known Touken Ranbu in school, I’d have a better score in social studies.

Konnosuke is a pipe fox/kudagitsune and accompanies the Second Unit with directives from the Saniwa (which i guess in the games is the player character). in Katsugeki's lore specifically, Konnusuke is one of many kudagitsune and each one is assigned to a different unit. the bell on his collar is actually the tech he uses to receive directives from the Saniwa as well as keep track of timelines, locate and identify people in history, and even capture and display recordings.

It shouldn't have been such a big deal but Ookurikara should've expected the sweets-stealing tantou to blow things out of proportion.

It had happened quite a few times lately, Ookurikara would catch Houchou trying to take the snacks that were supposed to be shared amongst the citadel. It wasn't like there wasn't enough to go around— Mitsutada and Azuki made sure there would be extras left over. But if multiple swords were to start stealing the snacks before they were to be distributed then there wouldn't be a whole lot left, would there.

He shouldn't have to explain that to Houchou. So he didn't. Instead he decides to spend his spare time in the kitchen, effectively barring the tantou from being able to take anything. Aside from the swords rotated on kitchen duty and the few that tended to eat more frequently and had some extra meals stored in the fridge accordingly, no one else really came into the kitchen, and if they did they knew well enough not to bother him.

Except apparently Houchou saw his presence as a personal attack and decided to tell the saniwa that Ookurikara was bullying the tantou.

For one he would've thought Houchou would have gone to Ichigo but that's besides the point. Though he supposes Ichigo would know that Houchou is just trying to cause trouble.

To be honest Ookurikara isn't sure why he even thought that Yuichi would take Houchou's testimony at face value, but he had prepared himself for it anyways. Ookurikara didn't really have a reputation for being friendly, but even though the opposite wasn't true either, he wouldn't be surprised if any of the other swords considered it to be so. He kind of had a track record for pissing people off by just existing, Kasen being number one on that list. And at the moment Houchou's opinion of him is pretty scathing. Not that he cares what the brat thinks, but maybe Yuichi might, with how the saniwa looks out for everyone here.

So when Ookurikara explains that all he was trying to do was stop the tantou from stealing from the kitchen and that he didn't even say anything to him…

The fact that Yuichi believes him— even though he really doesn't have any reason not to— is a relief.

Day 2 of Special Investigation: Jurakutei. Team Four was able to entered inside Jurakutei Honmaru and defeat the boss (S rank.) Scored 'Excellent' in evaluation and secured ourself one Yamanbagiri Chougi as a reward from the government.

dreamt i was playing yasusada in a play at my school bc tori was playing a different sword. i knew all the words but had no idea what the plot was so when some kids in the year below that i knew when i was there asked me during a break what happens i was like idk sorry lol and they were like ..... you dont know wtf

So when a sword is unfortunately broken (by true accident), it's a heartbreaking thing to watch, that's why they improved on the warning system by having your captain stop you from advancing when you have a severely injured toudan.

(Although it would be more heartbreaking to you as a toudan if your saniwa is flat out sadist yes i have friends who break their swords on purpose 💀💀)

Also i have bragging rights thanks to my friends who end up with broken toudan okay I HAVE NOT BROKEN ANY OF THE SWORDS AND NEVER WILL. THE LEAST I'LL DO IS REFINE THEM TO LEVEL UP MY OTHER BOYS 😭

If its okay to ask I am interested in lets say a group of officials have arrived for some sort of inspection/check up which is normal enough and happened before, but for what ever reason when one of the people in this group goes forward to speak our saniwa is visibly uneasy and sacred of them, kind of wilts a little maybe half way stands behind one of the sword boys or grips the back of their clothes. For this one Kasen, Tsurumaru and Kashuu please!

Saniwa uncomfortable around Time Government Official (GN!Reader)

♡ It was a normal meeting with the Time Government, a yearly overview of places the saniwa did well in and places they need to improve on in the future.

♡ The meeting normally took place in the citadel so they could get a good idea of the living space the Touken Danshi were staying in and have the saniwa be more comfortable in their own environment.

♡ It normally only involved the saniwa and the higher ups in the rankings. Sometimes the starter sword, who have seen the sage from the beginning, may be asked to join.

♡ Thus why Kasen stood next to his saniwa as they awaited for the executives to teleport in.

♡ Kasen wore his normal casual outfit but it was clear to anyone who had spent time with him that he dolled himself up more. His hair looked more shiny and neat. His makeup was freshly applied and his skin looked like it was glowing in the sun.

♡ He rested a hand on his saniwa's shoulder to knock them out of their inner monologue with themself. "Don't worry, Aruji. That said you did great last year and you have only continued to improve since then."

♡ Your shoulders loosened and you gave a small smile to your starter sword for his kind words. Kasen returned the gesture as you two looked at each other before the attention was directed to the light that just appeared before them.

♡ Four figures appeared as the light dissipated. All dressed very formerly depending where they came from but there was no mistaking who just arrived in the citadel.

♡ Each of them came up to shake the hand of the saniwa they were coming to meet with. For the most part, everything was going smoothly from Kasen's perceptive... Until the last person.

♡ As soon as they came up to the saniwa, he saw them tense and gently grip Kasen's sleeve. His brow slightly rose as he felt a tug next to him and glanced over to his sage. A nervous expression and cold sweat falling down their neck as the figure approached them to shake their hand.

♡ Kasen didn't need to be a genius to figure out social cues like that.

♡ An elegant smile appeared on his face like normal, almost like he never even lost it as he took the role as host with his saniwa.

♡ As their hand was lifted to grab the saniwa's, Kasen cut in and shook it. It was firm but not so rough to break one's bones. It was a proper handshake as he began to praise the one before him over hearing so much about them.

♡ All the while leading the group to the tea room, glancing back to you to make sure you were alright and taking all the deep breaths you need before you joined them.

♡ When you felt calm enough, you made you way to the tea room to meet the rest of the group. The person that you flinched away from prior gaze stayed on you as you entered the room.

♡ Kasen quickly stepped into his view as he smiled at you. "Aruji, could you get some tea prepared for the guests while I go get your records for these lovely people?"

♡ Kasen's graceful host-like persona quickly won over the Time officials. None of them realizing that he purposely was making sure he alienating one of them from the sage.

♡ As the two left the room, Kasen grasped your hand and whispered into your ear; "I will make sure that they don't interact with you. Just focus on the meeting and I will handle them. I have your back, aruji."

♡ He gave a reassuring squeeze to your hand before he took off to your office to grab your folder.

♡ When you returned to the tea room, Kasen was already sitting next to the person who made you uncomfortable and made sure you were a good distance away from them.

♡ Anytime they would try to ask you a question, he would answer for you or Kasen would start talking to them before they could form the question.

♡ They quickly learned it was better to fall silent and listen to the meeting rather than try to interrogate you with your starter sword around.

♡ When it was time to leave, Kasen was the one to show them out. Insisting that his master had been up for far too long and needed more rest.

♡ The Time Government Officials appeared before the two. Tsurumaru with his huge smile that he always wore greeted the two that just appeared in the citadel.

♡ However, seeing a familiar face, drove you to hide behind Tsurumaru's fluffy white coat. The action surprised him and made him turn around to you, his body blocking you from the two officials.

♡ "That was quite a shock, aruji!" He whispered cheerfully. His golden eyes glanced from your feared expression to the person that was causing it for a moment. "I won't ask... Just follow my lead."

♡ His large sleeve pressed gently against your nose as he turned to the two. "What a surprise! Aruji seems to have a nose bleed. I am going to help them take care of it while..." His eyes darted around until it landed on a figure walking outside. "Azuki-kun! Would you mind showing them to the tea room for us?"

♡ His warm embraced guided you away to the kitchen, all the while making sure he was hiding your face from the figure that was staring at you.

♡ As Tsurumaru entered the kitchen, he let you go and the warmth of his coat quickly left you. Some tea and sweets already on a tray for the meeting taking place today.

♡ A light bulb going off in the trickster crane's mind as he took a single cup of tea and began to pour salt into the, once delicious, tea.

♡ It wasn't a spoon or two... It was straight from the bag... Pouring.

♡ "What are you doing!?"

♡ "I think they need a little surprise to get back for shocking aruji."

♡ His cheerful smile still on his face still looked kind like how he normally was... yet slightly sinister.

♡ He put the cup back on the tray and started to carry it to the tea room as you urged him to not do that since you could get in trouble...

♡ But the crane didn't listen until you both arrived at the room with the duo. Tsurumaru didn't hesitated to start handing the cups out... Making extra sure that they received the salty tea.

♡ Tsurumaru bowed to you and duo as he exited the room to let the meeting commence.

♡ It didn't take long until the person took a sip of their tea, their face scrunching up, and they dashed out into the hall to wash out their mouth from the bathroom.

♡ However... They never returned to the meeting. It was a peaceful discussion with the last Time Official in the room with you. Laughter and enjoying the sweets that Azuki made for the meeting.

♡ When you left with them to show them off, the other Official came stomping up to the portal... Soaking wet, missing a shoe, and it looked like they had soot on their face.

♡ Tsurumaru hurriedly followed behind them with a rag to try to clean them up. They were not having it and just left without a word.

♡ "Oh no... I was just trying to help-" Tsurumaru looked at you and the other concerned. However... You could see through Tsurumaru awful acting. You could see he could break into a smile any moment.

♡ Kashuu stayed up late with you to go over all the questions that they may ask today. The meeting was suppose to be simple but he knew you were nervous about it since they are your bosses.

♡ After the late night quiz, he made you do a face mask and pampered you by doing your nails and talking. Anything to help distract you and relax you for the meeting.

♡ The morning came faster than you wanted but Kashuu stayed beside your side the whole way. Patiently waiting for the group to show up for the meeting. He had promised you the night prior that he would stick with you through the meeting and make sure you could take the rest of the day after to relax. He already had snacks and a movie planned. A terrible romcom that the two of you could complain about.

♡ However that quickly changed when the group finally arrived and Kashuu saw the look on your face. Your hand gripped onto Kashuu's arm to balance yourself as a dizzy spell hit you from seeing that face.

♡ Your body went cold but sweat dripped down your neck. Your hands shaking regardless of your trying to stay composed.

♡ The gall this person had to smile when they saw your face and start to walk to you to take your hand.

♡ Kashuu's crimson eyes sharpened as he stepped in front of you, a glare making the person stop in their tracks.

♡ "We don't allow this person in our citadel. Leave or we will do this meeting another time with a different group." His voice dripped with venom as he crossed his arms over his chest as he glared only at that one.

♡ The other two Time officials looked at each other, confused exactly what to do. They never had something like this happen.

♡ "It isn't my fault they are so scared. I did nothing wrong. Stop being childish, (Y/N). Grow up-"

♡ "Do NOT talk to them like that. With all due respect, if you don't leave this citadel now... I will see you as a threat and be forced to remove you myself." Kashuu checked out his nails, looking bored after his threat.

♡ The time government was no fool over the abilities of the sword under command of the saniwas. They knew Kashuu was a sword that was hard to wield and would do anything to protect the one he treasures the most.

♡ The two female time government officials looked at the third, the one causing the problem, and finally spoke up. "I'm sure having a meeting with just the two of us isn't the biggest problem. How about you head back, I'm sure you have paperwork you need to catch up on."

♡ The last looked at the other two in stupor, only to turn back to Kashuu who was now smugly smiling at them for getting his way. They seethed as they gritted through their teeth, "Fine. Have it your way."

♡ Kashuu's hand slipped behind him and gently to yours as he watched as the unpleasant Official went to the portal and teleported away.

♡ "If they ever show up or try to cause problems, just call me, aruji. I will be there in a heartbeat."

as far as tales go though, mikazuki wasn't ever used for battle, was he? the centuries prior to him ending up with kodai-in aren't recorded, and nothing after that suggests he's ever been used in warfare. he's always been put on display as an object simply to be marvelled at. i think that's why he says "'come closer'–ive always wanted to try saying those words" as a way of reminding the saniwa that he was primarily a superficial tool too beautiful to be used.
