[this became much longer than i intended whoops]
u know i think it would’ve been much better if the ode of resurrection was not shown to us immediately, and wasn’t a main part of their culture. have people die throughout the archon quest, make us believe that there’s no saving them. kill off kachina at the start and convince us that she’s the first playable character in genshin thats not alive.
build up these bonds, forge these friendships, make us care.
just to take it all away
that’s war.
but there’s a tiny flame, that glimmer of hope. maybe it’s something the pyro archons have been working on, passing it down to their successors. something mavuika has been working on. yeah u heard that right she’s actually doing something wow get citlali in there to help out. get the whole goddamn tribe involved idc
there’s a scramble to find the last of the heroes. they don’t want to force it or fuck something up but they’re running out of time. the abyss is coming. it will consume the nation. they need to fucking buckle up and get down to it.
they could probably still go into the night kingdom to search for kachina, so that mualani can get her ancient name. or it can occur under entirely different circumstances. haven’t given that much thought yet. do they find her?
do they find her and can’t actually bring her back to the surface?
for the next part, we’re gonna have to shake things up because we need the captain on our team sooner rather than later. how that happens is up in the air but regardless, we put aside our differences to save natlan.
so, we help the captain find old dragon tech. maybe we enlist the help of kinich and ajaw, maybe we go into ochkanatlan, tie some of that shit in. we can take iansan along too, who is super duper strong and can carry all our fancy dragon tech or smth idk the three of them need more involvement !!! ajaw would drive me up the wall but it’s a necessary evil
in ochkanatlan, we see how the abyss can mimic lifeforms. the twin is in irminsul right? maybe it’s steals the twin’s image, but the traveler knows it’s not them because their twin would never say things like this. we learn that they abyss manifestations are (always?) twisted and mutilated.
we see the dragon. we don’t defeat it, that’s for the world quest lol but we get the image of the dragon in our minds so that when it shows up later down the line, we know what the fuck is happening lol
on our trip, we learn bits and pieces about the captain. it’s all disconnected, nothing makes sense. and since we’re nosey little fuckers, we find correspondence with the tsaritsa in his belongings.
capitano is gentle with his body. maybe a little too gentle. it catches the traveler’s eye but they don’t know what it means, they have no grounds for suspicion. it’s blown off as recovering from his duel with mavuika. (little do we know that he was hit directly in the heart and he’s worried, goddamnit)
ororon lets it slip that something feels off with the captain’s soul. (could the captain be using ororon’s sensitivities to monitor the souls housed inside him? would he eventually tell ororon what’s going on? or would that be too risky?)
ororon receives ancient name same as before, nothing really needs to change there i suppose. more suspicion is thrown on the captain because of the identity of the soul trying to possess ororon. maybe the captain didn’t share his plan in its entirety, he has a lot riding on this, he can’t afford to fuck it up, and keeps his cards close to his chest. he and mavuika can still argue in front of ororon like mom and dad lol
chuychu dies. she doesn’t get to give a long goodbye. she bleeds out in her sister’s arms. (they actually try to stop the bleeding and give her medical care) chasca goes berserk hell yeah, there’s a struggle. she manages to rein herself in, the love between sisters reigns supreme. chasca gets her ancient name
boom u got all ur heroes. they supercharge mavuika to beat back the abyss core thing. what was its name? gilgamesh? i don’t fucking know
the losses are extreme
fast forward a bit bc i’m losing steam and attention span here
we dive back into the night kingdom to track down the “brain” of the abyss corruption. the people we’ve met and lost in natlan help us out. kachina can be added to the mix. the gay lovers, chuychu and her pokémon team, boba and coconut — the whole gang’s here yooo i actually loved this part. favorite section by far
and after our trip in ochkanatlan, we know that the dragon we’re fighting is an abyssal manifestation. the voices of the previous pyro archons are their own but the words are all wrong, designed to discourage and distress us.
we defeat it using the power of friendship (i’m gonna kms)
also mavuika’s kit is completely different. i’m giving her a redesign fuck it. but that’s a post for another time.
traveler seems pretty good ngl i just wish the cons aren’t limited to fighting the dragon. i really liked what i was seeing and then they pooped all over my party (what’s the point!!!)
instead of a big parade, we gather around together at the stadium to finally try the thing all the pyro archons have been cooking. the heroes are a necessary component.
the incandescent ode of resurrection
among the many, kachina comes out of the flames. mualani sobs her heart out and vows to never let her out of her sight ever again
chuychu perhaps? 👀 pls pls she’s the only one besides cap and ororon that i give a shit about pllssssss playable chuychu when? her design is fantastic as is u dont need to touch it PLEASE—
now we can have a party!! after everything is all said and done, we can have One party instead of the five or so we’ve had since we came to natlan. (nation of war? more like nation of fiestas)
ororon, though, feels uneasy, and not because of the atmosphere. he says he’s going to find the captain, but he can’t explain why. concerned, the traveler and paimon try to follow him but are intercepted by citlali, who is for once not freaking out about ororon’s whereabouts, instead…
oh but wait. where’s mavuika gone? oh nooo
plays out relatively the same i suppose. could use some tweaking but not anything significant enough to mention right now.
except now we have somewhat of an understanding of the captain already, all the little bits and pieces we noticed, and the clues we (so rudely) discovered, it’s all starting to make sense now. we’ve also spent more time w him, the emotional attachment runs deeper, and it’s much more painful to experience.
bittersweet
mavuika is confused, especially in the days coming after. she had planned to die then. she said her goodbyes in a roundabout way. she finished the painting of her family, so they’ll never be forgotten. she saved her nation from the oppression of the abyss, resurrected so, so many. there was only one thing left to do… she was supposed to be the one to do it.
what does she do now?
what does she do with herself now, when she hadn’t planned for her own future? it was supposed to end, she was supposed to die. could she have reunited with her family? could she have seen them once again? she’s sad over what could have been, she’s confused because how did it end up like this, she’s mad because the captain stole it from her, she’s guilty because he was ultimately the better choice
what do you do when you’ve spent hundreds of years waiting for your destined day? when you’re only ambition has been this.
it’s time to learn how to live.
the end~

Can we hear some treasurecop headcanons now??? mayhaps???
All right, strap yourselves in boys. Any of you guys are allowed to take these headcanons and do with them what you will. I honestly tried to write a fanfiction about this but I didn't see anything going anywhere. Someday I really want to pick this back up and modify it and turn the story onto their own fully fledged storyboard much like the one for Skippingstones as well. If you don't like my ships that's cool I'm just going to be over here enjoying my own thing that you aren't obligated to like and enjoy it by myself.
Vinnie was the first one to catch feelings. After Tre had saved Vinnie after she made an accidental miss-slip when she was trying to run away, him actually being willing to save her despite rooting for the opposite team sparked something strange within her. That hand-holding man, he suddenly didn't seem as annoying as she remembered.
After Tre had a saved her and was able to get her a light sentence of community service (or have her help out with such things as being a lawyer or helping him solve cases to a crime which meant she would be spending a lot of time with Tre around the clock) Vinnie started showing up around him, in which she would take time out of her day when she would usually go on heists and missions stealing with the boys she somehow found it was much more entertaining to annoy cop boy when she found out how easy it was to fluster him she quickly turned it into a game and found it to be more entertaining than anything else. So for a while it sort of becomes a thing that's more about flustering the cop boy and Tre trying to think of a way to fluster her back.
Another thing that definitely drove Tre towards Vinnie was how absolutely funny he could be whenever he was angry and expressed his rants (think of Alfred as Eggman from the Sonic fandub because it's my headcanon that he sounds like that whenever he's upset or angry) and how absolutely funny he could be whenever he expressed his grievances towards Stone. Vinnie thinks it's so funny to watch him go off the handle and spew nonsense in order to make her laugh even though he's making fun of Stone.
First time that Tre actually does something nice for Vinnie and starts showing feelings of connection and something more is when he buys bread for a thief to feed her and her gang for the rest of the week. That was the first time that Tre probably left Vinnie speechless before she tried to act like it didn't affect her that much. That was the first time that Tre got Vinnie to blush in return without even realizing it.
Vinnie is a chaotic bisexual and Tre is questioning as he's very insecure about his sexuality and is unsure of where he stands but he'd like to imagine he's straight or at least tries to be. There's probably a storyline in there where Vinnie helps him be more confident in his identity.
Tre finds out that Vinnie basically has a sense of smell that is basically the equivalent of a canine unit which has helped him solve a lot of cases when Vinnie was paired up with Tre as community service. Tre is able to see Vinnie’s odd talents and strengths as useful.
In terms of cute couple shit Vinnie has a secret sweet spot underneath her chin that basically is an override switch that temporarily paralyzes her body from the neck down and makes her entire body go limp and turn into jelly whenever he scratches the area underneath. Tre found this out by accident but he does take advantage of that sweet spot from time to time in order to keep her in line. He finds out that Vinnie is secretly just a giant puppy dog in disguise.
Sometimes when nobody is looking Tre will attempt to be a daredevil of himself attempting to do the same fancy footwork that he always sees Vinnie does across planks and boards whenever she maneuvers out of his grasp when he tries to catch her. It just reminds him of her. Only for when he reached the other side Vinnie would of course be there smugly smiling at him.
Tre needs to take a note or two from Vinnie because he is always waiting for the perfect moment to happen but he learns from Vinnie that the best things that happen out of life are living in the moment instead of waiting for the perfect moment. It's one of the things that Tre needs to learn as character growth, because he always wants to wait for the perfect moment to catch the trio and impress his father.
Tre and Vinnie’s dynamic definitely plays off of questioning each other's morals and what the other side stands for. As Vinnie is definitely all for the tear down of the establishment political uprising where the poor overthrow the government, eat the rich and give back to the poor. As she's seen as some sort of a martyr among the other street gangs. Meanwhile Tre argues that the laws are there to help protect the world from people like her because even though their side fights for justice they still put innocent people's lives on the line in the name of starting a movement. Their world views definitely challenge one another and makes the other genuinely question their stance and think about what side they are on.
Vinnie shares her secrets with Tre such as the ones as she has trouble getting into relationships with people including her ex lovers (Aka Ditch and Jewlie Sue because I want to make the joke that Vinnie ditched Ditch to go become a Tree climber)
Vinnie is secretly the daughter of Captain Jack Sparrow and her existence is supposed to be a secret because her father wanted to keep her safe and not have to deal with his legacy and the risk of people coming after her for her bloodline if they found out who she was related to. So there's a whole storyline and conflict about that somewhere.
Tre is a hopeless romantic that loves watching those movies that you would probably see on the Hallmark those dramatic romcom soap opera movies that always makes him crave for real love and connection whenever he watches them. And he really wants something in his life to play out like the ones that he sees in movies.
Tre is a perfectionist and he is a maladaptive daydreamer in which he often daydreams perfect scenarios taking place in his head that usually have to do with this black and white detective filter with Skipp and Stone playing instruments since it’s in my belief he often waits for the perfect moment to happen but part of his development is that he finds out you have to make the most of life while you have the opportunity instead of waiting for it to happen you make the opportunity happen yourself.
It was confirmed by Zi in a Discord message that Tre would not be a fan of Shakespeare but for some reason he would have the entire memory of the play Hamlet engraved in his mind so the play is engraved in his mind very much like Vinnie (which I wish I could dig up but I'm not in the Discord server anymore but if you search up somebody mentioning Shakespeare or Hamlet it's definitely in there)
(Now this is just a massage that I sent a friend that I'm going to copy and paste here because I think that I would do a horrible job of re-summarizing it again in a modified format) OK so I figured I'd have to tell you about this sooner or later but one day I plan to actually write a Tre x Vinnie fanfic. And I keep thinking about a future scene that is probably going to be the end. All I know is that Tre is boarding a train to leave Ramshackle and he thinks he's seen the last of Vinnie and this is there final goodbye. But low and behold he sees Vinnie jumping on the roof tops outside his window, chasing the train before it has a chance to actually pick up speed. Vinnie jumps on one of the stairs of the train as she and Tre have a face to face confession. And I'm thinking Vinnie steals a kiss from Tre, along with stealing his hat. But before he has a chance to even realize what just happened the train leaves the border of the town. With Vinnie putting on his hat waving goodbye to him and staying in Ramshackle as she gets further and further way. As Tre with a smile waves goodbye to her as well. The end.
And in the modern AU Tre and Vinnie definitely have a true crime podcast that they host together as a couple (Think of Boze vs The World, Skipp and Stone meanwhile would totally have a gameplay or movie commentary channel where they just make fun of horrible movies together)
There was one time Vinnie died taking a bullet for Tre and she literally fought Satan to bring her back to life because not even he wanted to deal with her in Hell.

y'all wanna know ANOTHER THING I'm truly disappointed in s6? no? well, I'll tell you anyway
it's the fact that CHOZEN AND TORY DON'T EVEN INTERACT!!! AT ALL!!
and yes, maybe the student-sensei relationship I wanted for them was never truly hinted at (aside from when he disguised himself INTO Cobra Kai), but it would make so much sense I'm super mad that it didn't happen!!!
I have a whole post ranting about this already but he truly could've been Tory's sensei like Johnny is for Miguel and Daniel is (well, used to be cuz where the hell is that relationship now HUH?) for Robby. and I hate that the writers (those stupid fucks who are good for nothing at this point) threw that and so many potential great storylines under the bus to favor, what? MORE RIVALRIES? WITH PEOPLE WE BARELY KNOW AND THAT I CERTAINLY DON'T CARE ABOUT? OR REBUILDING TENSION WITH KENNY AND ANTHONY WHEN THEY COULD'VE SQUASHED THAT IN PART 1? OR WHATEVER THE HELL WAS GOING ON WITH HAWK AND DEMETRI THAT I DIDN'T EVEN PAY ATTENTION TO (this one makes me furious, it didn't even have a point for fuck's sake)??
anyways, they stay close in a student-sensei way in my mind forever and when Tory convinces Yoon (yes, another friendship I have to imagine in my head bc it's barely in the show) to go take a vacay in Cali, she presents the two of them and they all become super goofy together

Gotta be honest. Was watching the 2003 series. Saw Turtles Forever. Thought it was alright, definitely no ROTTMNT movie. Then I actually watched and got hooked on the 1987. I was so thrown off, the crossovers completely curved my expectations for the series. “This is nothing like I expected. What the hell. The writers hated these guys?!”
1. They were a lot more competent at fighting than I expected. Like they just break or cut through strong durable metal with ease?? And have super strength??
2. Their personalities and character dynamics are pretty good. INCLUDING April.
I’m talking a lot of Brains and Brawn, and a decent amount of Baja Blast duo. Donatello and Raphael often have similar opinions and may even join together and argue against Leonardo. Peacemaker Michelangelo will end up siding with Leonardo.
Raphael definitely stands out the most initially. He’s a wisecracking, trash talker who surprisingly the cautious one. Great at disguises. Runs from fights he can’t win. Leonardo’s actually a sweet school boy that’d watch your flower shop for a week free of charge. Michelangelo, also huge sweetheart, just wants to party, chill, and make friends, is the most pizza obsessed and surfs. Actual surfer-dude. Donatello, prideful, overestimates his abilities, never refuses or runs from a fight. Goes on ‘poetic’, ‘philosophical’ rants. Donatello and Raphael both have used ‘blasters’ the most. And give me real Disater Twin energy. Don’t leave them alone together.
And the whole ‘April getting kidnapped’ is mostly because she would take Shredder on herself. She’s constantly sneaking into villain hideouts just to get a good story to keep her position as the Star Reporter because her sexiest Boss and coworker have it out for her. 100% no self preservation. Would jump a bridge with her van. Love her.
3. I love the 80’s asthetic/vibe in general.
4. Ok yeah. Humans do sort of know of them. I mean they do hide-WHAT DO MEAN THERE’S A ANTI-MUTANT STORYLINE THAT PARALLELS EXTREME RACISM.
It was a recipe to get me hooked.
So yeah, I have mixed feelings on Turtles Forever.
I know some people who like 87 also like Turtles Forever so I wanted to see if the correlation here would surprise me.

Spoiler free review, spoilers below cut
I just watched the School for Good and Evil movie and wow
Overall, I’m pretty disappointed. It was a fun watch, don’t get me wrong, it was fun picking out familiar characters and seeing them on screen, and the story is alright, but it just felt… lacking? Like most of the characters go unnamed, and it’s frustrating for people who have read the books and enjoy those side characters. The plot also felt very rushed. I watched it with my mom, who has never touched the books, and she said she felt like she was missing some context at certain parts, like some scenes and reasonings didn’t quite make sense yet.
And the CGI was pretty inconsistent? Like in some scenes it would be incredible and others it looked very… choppy? Idk, it felt like it was changing styles every two seconds.
However, I do think that despite the rough storyline (which is still alright) the actors did the best they could with what they were given. And the costumes were absolutely gorgeous.
There’s still a few nitpicky things but I don’t really feel like typing it all out cuz it’s late and I’m tired. ALTHOUGH I am going to rant about the characters and cut scenes from the book now, so spoilers below.
oh boy oh boy do I have complaints:
WHERE WAS THE WONDERFUL GORGEOUS AMAZING SCENE BETWEEN AGATHA AND DOVEY ABOUT AGATHA REALIZING SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL???? Reading that scene as a kid literally brought me to tears bc I was super self-conscious about myself, and it is my favorite scene in the entire series. AND ITS NOT THERE? 1568 wounded and 182 dead.
speaking of Agatha, while I love Sofia wylie, she was?? Too pretty?? like whenever the other characters would call her “witch” or “ugly” it just didn’t land bc she was literally gorgeous. And she blended in too well with the Evers, the whole point is she’s an outsider, she sticks out, but she fit right in. Wasnt goth enough :<
wth was the “blood magic” crap. Like huh
NO SWAN SYMBOLS ON UNIFORMS??? Like they even include the school insignia in the beginning, WHATS THE POINT IF THERES NO SWANS
while I can appreciate the chemistry that they gave tedros and agatha in the movie, I really wish that they had included more rivalry. Bc those two literally hated each other in the books.
Also Sophie talked about tedros being her “true love” for like two seconds and then it was pushed to the side. Like. He’s kinda the reason she goes full evil and all, but their relationship was just?? Nonexistent. Like she wears a few good outfits and suddenly their testing their love for each other in the trial by tale.
trial by tale was done DIRTY. Instead of being a massive school-wide competition between schools, they turned it into some flimsy tophie thing that literally only lasted like 10 minutes tops. That was such a big deal in the book pls
WHERE IS SIR AUGUST SADER??? MY MANS WHO HAD AGATHAS BACK.
They were missing so many characters???? Like Castor and Pollux and Uma and the BEAST FROM THE DOOM ROOM WHICH IS A WHOLE OTHER RANT. Also a BUNCH of the characters just. Go unnamed. Like do they even introduce Kiko or Chad. And even the characters who are seem so bland and forgettable.
THE BEAST. THE DOOM ROOM. THE WONDERFUL SCENE WHERE YOU SEE SOPHIE’S TRUE EVIL. GONE. Like what was that.
Where were anadil’s rats??? How hard is it to get rats???
also anadil and dot seemed way too similar. And Hester’s character was inconsistent. Also dot not being played by a larger actor lowkey bugs me.
Sophie did NOT get to be evil enough smh
CIRCUS OF TALENTS ANYONE HELLOOOOO????
I know they kinda revealed what happens to failed students but not revealing that theyre the werewolves and fairies was so disappointing.
I cant believe we didn’t get Sophie singing T^T it’s not a big issue, but I still wanted to include it bc Sophia ann Caruso (her actor) was literally ON BROADWAY. My girl can SING. LET HER SHOW OFF.
no pink fingerglow for sophie :<
RAFAL IN GENERAL? Like what was that. He just walks around school disguised as his brother? Casually jump scares Agatha?? NO MASK?? genuinely upset me
also not really a criticism to the movie, but watching it on screen made me realize how creepy rafal and Sophie’s relationship actually is. Like. Yikes.
Upset that Yuba didn’t get enough spotlight
Also I wish they got the chance to show off the “room of champions” or whatever it was for both schools. Or Arthur’s menagerie. But I can live without it.
Sophie and Agatha not knowing about the schools in the beginning?? Like huh?? Sophie has dreamed about going there her whole life what do you meannnn
Honora being mean to Sophie rubbed me the wrong way. Like she’s supposed to be a very plain and nice woman, and I felt like Sophie still disliking her despite that gave Sophie’s character more depth
WHERE. ARE. THE. DREAMS. The nemesis dreams, Agatha’s true live dreams, WHERE ARE THEY? they could have helped explain so much for why Sophie was just suddenly like “oh yeah you’re my nemesis” and tedros declaring his love. Also they DIDNT talk about nemesis symptoms at all. At least that I remember. It felt so random when Sophie started turning into the witch.
okay im gonna end it with some positive things cuz I’ve just been ranting lmao
Loved lady lesso ngl. So gay for her.
having tedros not kill some unnamed kid as a gargoyle, but a kid that we got to actually know was a lot more satisfying. Really got the point across
HESTADIL CRUMBSSSSSS
honestly I was worried that they would chicken out of making Sophie ugly as a witch, but they did alright with it. Kudos.
Tedros and Agatha chemistry yesssss. When she tripped and he caught her>>>
Yes anemone POP OFF QUEEN
the wish fish scene was GORGEOUS
I liked the bit of background they gave Gavaldon. Like Agatha and Sophie’s classmates talking to them. That was nice :]
I honestly enjoyed covey’s character. She was a little manic at times, and a little different from the books, but I thought it fit the movie well. And I cracked a few smiles at it
Tedros and Agatha again. Sassy Agatha in their first conversation <3333
the ever Boys’ entrance was well done :>
Hester’s demon was FANTASTIC and absolutely sick
HORT MY BABY YES KING
that’s all I really have the brainpower to think about and write down. Also this became way longer than I thought it would. I had to rant about it somewhere cuz my friends haven’t watched nor read it and my mom didn’t want to hear it lol. Anyway, those are just my opinions on the movie. Even though I had a lot to complain about, the movie was still an enjoyable watch. It’s always cool seeing familiar characters in live action :D

Servant Quackity AU continued:
You know the Shapeshifter Quackity headcanon? Anyway — Dream in this AU, his relationships with everyone are still all shot to shit. Like, yeah, he’s not gonna be killed by anyone at this point, but things are still rough and worst of all, nobody’s visiting. (It’s easier that way, they say.) (Sapnap in particular is feeling kinda awkward because, well, he was kind of a shitty friend. Abandoning him so easily, ignoring his cries for help, the signs of abuse, outright denying the fact that he was tortured —) So, for a long time, it’s just Dream and Quackity. And Dream is still very much scared of Quackity.
Quackity knows this. He tries to be light and friendly, to joke and to tease and to play, but — it doesn’t work. Dream’s still a bundle of hurt, and frankly Quackity was kind of hoping someone would visit by now himself, if only for his patient’s sake. But nobody’s coming.
Finally, Dream and Quackity get into a bit of a heated…discussion. Dream is lashing out. Quackity isn’t biting. Dream finally snaps that if he can get ANYONE ELSE to come here for ONCE then that would be GREAT.
Quackity pauses, and then says that while he might not be able to do that, he can do this…
And then he morphs into Sapnap.
Dream stares, shocked and confused and kind of scared. Quackity did this sometimes in prison as a form of psychological torture. (It was George who cut off his ring finger.) So, he’s a bit scared.
But then “Sapnap” starts talking, and — it’s just like if he were actually there.
Quackity knows Sapnap. At this point, he knows the current Sapnap either almost as well or even better than DREAM knows Sapnap. So he knows the mannerisms, he knows the tone of voice, he’s got the full act down pat and — and Dream is frozen. Just as Quackity’s about to turn back, kind of thinking that this was a bad idea, Dream quietly says, “It’s nice to see you again, Pandas.”
And thus it begins. Quackity turns into whoever Dream seems to miss, and emulates them to the best of his ability — which is pretty spot on! And Dream says…whatever he needs to. At first it’s hardly anything and he just asks for a hug or a light conversation about how they’re doing, but later he starts actually talking about how he feels, asking what Wilbur gained by making him out to be Evil like that, why did Sam betray him so badly? Did they always just hate him that much? And Quackity responds in the ways that Dream needs him to, and…it helps.
(Then one day Sapnap finally arrives. Dream doesn’t realize that it’s not one of Quackity’s disguises this time until he’s ranted out everything he’s been bottling up for years.)
WAHHHH!!! ok i have not heard of the morph hc at all?? i am intrigued about where it stemmed from?? :0
also woahhhhhh it just adds sooo many cool layers to this set up. coz it means that quackity is only helping dream by pretending that he’s being someone else. he’s not improving his own relationship with dream, he’s only helping dream sort out his relationships with others
(more below)
🦙🦙🦙…
but that in itself would be kind of healing for quackity? he has to embody those that he has mostly been enemies with (quackity has so many poor relationships with other people), and he’d have to put his own quarrels aside to help dream out. perhaps he sorts his own feelings out about them in the process.
i feel like there would be part of him though, that would feel kinda bummed when he’s holding dream close in a forgiving hug, whilst knowing that the only reasoning that dream is hugging him back is because he looks like sapnap right now.
also all these other bits of storyline that you’ve thrown in here?? the fact that it was george (quackity but morphed) that sliced off his finger?? the outburst about dream wanting to see literally anyone except quackity? the fact that no one visits him coz they don’t want to interfere or they feel too awkward about it? ahhh it’s just all so cute :(( and all of this while dream can barely move :((
it is super cool to imagine that dream refuses to talk to quackity unless he’s morphed into someone else. like he refuses to be fed or bathed or anything unless it’s sapnap or punz or whoever doing it. like it’s almost dehumanising for quackity? it’s epic 😂

Some predictions for s2 of The Legend of Vox Machina
(and how it will affect Gilmore’s storyline and how new fans perceive him)
@dreanner95 wrote:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am holding out hope for season 2, I really am. But I’ve done some storyboarding math, and it doesn’t look good for Gilmore or any accurate-to-campaign portrayals of his relationship with Vax.
If you will indulge me, here are the story beats I’m predicting for a 12 episode Chroma Conclave arc:
The dragons attack the city. Rawr. VM fight valiantly but end up having to retreat and teleport to Vasselheim to get help.
Earthbreaker Groon tests Grog and tries to get him to ditch Craven Edge by telling him about Vestiges. Maybe even specific ones in a certain sunken tomb and Westruun. B-story will be our intro to Viktor and his chaos.
The sunken toooooooooooooooooomb. All angst and finally some focus on Vex’ahlia. Who is the least favourite female PC of all new fans to LoVM because the writers gave her nothing in s1. But that’s another rant.
The Herd of Storms. Kevdak. Westruun. Kaylie. Poppa Willhand. The one-on-one between Grog and Kevdak, ending with a cliffhanger where Grog almost dies.
Surprise, Grog doesn’t die. Now it’s time to fight Umbrasyl with the herd. Black dragon is down in one. No one is surprised after what happened with Brimscythe in episode 3. But wait! It’s Kerr! Let’s celebrate victory and give Keyleth a pep talk about leadership, because she’s the main character.
Time to head to the Feywild, little dogies! Find out why the twins are the way they are, introduce Artagan and watch the chaos, because we would never play down a fan favourite.
This one is probably a two-parter, because everyone loves Artagan and if the writers don’t take advantage of the angst in Vex’ahlia’s choice between Saundor and her friends, then can they really call themselves writers?
We go to Marquet to grab Cabal’s Ruin, meet J’mon Sa Ord, get drugs for Scanlan, fly on a ship to Glintshore and all that lovely mess because we cannot deny Percival his swan song (his second swan song? idk).
Things have happened. They’re sad. Resurrection ritual. But we have the vestige and one BONUS vestige. Huzzah. Oh no! Raishan in disguise? Stab her, Percy! CLIFFHANGER
Nevermind, it’s fine. On to the elemental plane of fire. A card game. A pit fiend. A slave market. Vestige acquired. Huzzah.
OH NO save KimAllura from bad mages at Fort Daxio. Then time to kill Vorugal so Raishan can prove herself. Where’s Larkin? Lots of treasure, including the Spire of Conflux. Now let’s do the Siege of Emon.
The Siege of Emon. Wait, Raishan got away. Let’s go kill her ass. Big victory party. But at the end, Vex shoots a critical success arrow into the spinning ball of death and sees Thar Amphala on the other side. CLIFFHANGER.
This leaves 0 room for Gilmore. It doesn’t leave room for Gilmore to single-handedly fight Thordak in episode 39. It doesn’t leave room for Vax to cry over his nearly-dead body in episode 40. Moreover, it would be an emotional beat no new viewers would understand, because Vax and Gilmore’s relationship has not been set up to BE that.
In fact, I would argue that we GOT that emotional beat from Vax for Keyleth in the added FoD scene in episode 11-12. Look at my face. I’m totally fine that they took that moment away from Gilmore and appropriated it to Keyleth. Everything is fine. Mlm is valid in this show, we’re just not going to show you any apart from “harmless” flirting and Scanlan’s innuendos.
Likewise, 57 makes no emotional sense. It’s not a huge shock anymore when Hotis stabs Vax disguised as Gilmore, because Gilmore is just an acquaintance. There’s no emotional impact. And the show has already set Hotis up as a little side gag in episode 5. Then how does Vax find out about his wings, you ask? Well, obviously it’s something about Keyleth and true love and why do you need Gilmore for that? There’s nothing special about him, and definitely nothing special to VAX about him.
There’s no need for Gilmore to create and maintain the shield over Whitestone. No need for Gilmore to save them from Vorugal in episode 64. At this point, new viewers would just wonder why time is being taken away from the main characters for this shopkeeper guy.
With all that, I can see Gilmore maybe MAYBE getting to fight Thordak with them in episode 12. But as of now in the story, we have no concept of his real power as a wizard, either. So bringing him along will no doubt seem random. VM will probably bring Allura along instead because it’s been established that she has old beef with Thordak, her boo Kima will be there (and c2 critters love their shield wife lesbians), and she’s also the imperial wizard of Emon.
Please understand I’m not HOPING for any of this, but I feel like I can see it coming like a slow-moving freight train, and I’m just trying to prepare myself.

Tumblr media
these tags are. yes.
i have been also thinking about it n just how it fits so perfectly into the storyline (and have not been waiting for an excuse to rant about it).
I genuinely love the song and just wanted to see one of my favourite songs in one of my favourite shows, but now I also think it works so beautifully with Good Omens s2, aside from just, yk, being a Queen song in a show that heavily features Queen songs.
Overall, the song is about perseverance in the face of hardship. When everything you know is falling away, you're still managing to hold on to yourself. You don't know what the point of anything is- or if there even is one. You're coming undone, but you're stronger than your adversaries. You are still alive.
Now, specifically in Crowley & Aziraphale's case, everything they have built for themselves, the world they saved as a team, as a group, a group of the two of them, has been ripped away.
The two of them had saved the world together. They were able to 'settle down', as much as two immortal beings that are never actually going to be free from the chains disguised as the watchful eyes of heaven and hell can be, at least. They weren't necessarily happy (Crowley asked what the point of it all was long before 'Jim' showed up on Aziraphale's doorstep. Aziraphale seemed happy, but I'm not entirely sure.) but hey- they had eternity, and they had each other. They'd be fine.
But in the span of perhaps a week or two, they both lost everything. Aziraphale was in heaven, away from his bookshop and his best friend, in a place that he had never belonged. Crowley, who had already lost his home and had no real friends, had lost the one person that he had always put above everyone else-- including himself, but that's not the point of this post.
The point of this post is that regardless of the fact that both angel and demon have lost everything, and are themselves lost, time will go on. They will go on. The Show will go on.
If they have The Show Must Go On in any part of the show I will actually lose my shit. Like, it just fits so beautifully and yea. Good Omens s3 will definitely have Crowley & Aziraphale dealing both with their own fallout and the fallout of the Second Coming. Regardless of whether they are ready for it or not, time will move forward, and it will bring the End Of The World- for a second time.
(also dude I am so with you I wish I could animate so badly there are so many cool concepts I wanna explore)
If Queen’s ‘The Show Must Go On’ isn’t in good omens s2 I might actually cry

hi! i hope you’re well. i’ve finally joined the daredevil bandwagon (only took me days before Netflix removes it) but girl this shit is GOOD! i’m so enthralled in the various storylines. i’ve already binged the first two seasons within the span of 3 days 😭
but question is how DOES NO ONE KNOW IT’S MATT? especially people who know him aka karen and brett… like is he disguising his voice? if so, how? lol his disguise is worse than miss hannah montana’s 😂 especially prior to him getting that fancy suit (s/o to melvin) so i just don’t know how they don’t know it’s him.
people might disagree but i like(d) Matt and elektra together. they seem to have better chemistry than him and karen (i was rooting for her and froggy before frank & that lawyer ex gf of fright’s showed up 🥺 he was so in love with her) and you know the good guy/bad girl dynamic is just…
Tumblr media
I LIKE THEM OKAY? lol and can i say that matty is lowkey a shitty friend to froggy and karen? he don’t deserve any of them. he certainly don’t deserve claire (they were cute together too and had more chemistry than him and karen). i know he think keeping the truth from them is/was the best thing to do but clearly not. they would’ve helped him cope with his vigilante personality of his. UGH I ALSO HATE HOW HE THINKS HE’S BETTER THAN FRANK JUST BECAUSE HE DOESN’T KILL PEOPLE😑 lol that’s my murderous babe right there. lol i swear i love matt. he’s so cute especially when he’s just being a regular blind man/lawyer. it’s just that he’s flawed but he doesn’t see that and that’s what annoys me. i’m sorry this got long AF 😩 thank you for letting me rant and also always talking about matt because now i am watching this show and i LOVE it. i don’t want it to end 😔 LOL after all that, i just have one question: WHERE are the matt fics?
My beautiful, beautiful Dia!!!! I'm so happy to hear from you!!!
Thanks for thinking of me and droppign in my inbox to scream about DD becuase OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM. I love this show.
So, first and foremost, I'm glad you got through season 2 because the Netflix-Marvel shows leave Netflix on March 1!!! And I think they're going to end up on Hulu, but they won't be on Netflix anymore.
In the order of the show, the mini-series "the Defenders" takes place between Season 2 and Season 3 of DD. So if you want to continue the ninja/Elektra plotline from season 2, watch the Defenders! (Plus it has Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, two of my favs!). But if you just want to move on to season 3 of DD, then go right into it. The very, very end of Defenders is where season 3 picks up.
Also, girl, RIGHT????? How does NO ONE know?? He has that sexy, low, smooth voice when he's in that suit, but, like, it's CLEARLY Matt Murdock voice. And he shows up the next day beat to shit and is like "oh, oops, walked into a door." Lol. That excuse is only good so many times. (And if you DO watch Defenders, PI extraordinaire Jessica Jones has Matt's number from the JUMP! TBH -- I loved their dynamic. It was the best thing about the show).
Also -- speaking of his sexy voice and his sexy suit (THANK YOU, MELVIN) I do think season 1 black suit/black mask Matt is the SUPERIOR MATT. That babygap shirt is SO TIGHT I am just so appreciative we get to see DD and his DD's.
As to the ranking of Matt Murdock relationships -- you and I have the SAME ranking, I think. He and Elektra truly are SUPREME! I know people didn't like Elektra because they don't like hte femme fatale trope, but I LOVED it. I LOVED her. I love how their dynamic ebbs and flows -- they bring so much out of one another, and yet, can they ever truly change? Even if they wanted to? He believes so much in Elektra, and no matter what she does, he loves her. And I think he and Claire had such incredible chemistry, and she understood what he was doing and what he stood for, but also didn't take his shit? I absolutely did not like Matt and Karen. I was sort of rooting for her and Foggy, and then her and Frank. But I LOVE Marci and Foggy together, so it's no great loss.
I didn't like Karen and Matt because she was so judgmental of DD being who he was, but was totally OK with the Punisher? When early on she was such a Daredevil defender? And that she can just waltz into jobs she's wildly unqualified for and get hired? I don't UNDERSTAND. Lol.
As to Matt's philosophies -- I think he can be a bit hypocritical, but I never thought he thought he was better than Frank because Frank kills people. Especially when you get through Matt's season 3 arc and what he goes through then. But that he felt a deep sense of sorrow for Frank and what he'd been through, but has such a HARD line about his methodologies? But I agree, he always SHOULD have been up front with his friends about who he was -- they were clearly prepared to accept it. It wasn't what he was doing that per se upset Foggy (although since they're lawyers and have to operate within the bounds of the law, it was a struggle for him), but the LYING! But when their friendship is good, it's SO GOOD.
Ugh, anyway, SORRY FOR RANTING. I could talk about this show FOR AGES.
As for Matt fics -- I had a post I made for Jo with a few fic recs on it. I'll RB and tag you. I also have a few to add that I"ve been reading. BUT ALSO -- I'm working on my OWN Matt Murdock fic and MAN is it FILTHY. I'LL TAG YOU WHEN IT DROPS!!!!!!

I’m really behind in times and the real truth of it is I don’t realllllllly pay attention. I’ve watched OUAT for years while it was on and the reruns, and I enjoy tumbler because it still gives me a dose of my gorgeous pirate daily. And I’ve also watched season 7, why wouldn’t I just ‘cause some actors moved on? I’ve always been curious about the rape comment from the season that always comes across once in a while. Who (allegedly) raped who in that season? ‘Cause I don’t remember anything of the kind happening. Thanks for answering... will I get a short answer or a long rant I wonder. Love you!
Okay, so... first things first! I love you too, Nonny XD
Especially so because I feel absolutely attacked right now, in the best possible way, by "will I get a short answer or a long rant” and I’m over here laughing, because I’d love to be like “AHA! I’ve got something ELSE for you!!” but we both know I don’t 😂 And uh oh, we’re already past “short answer” and we all know what THAT means...
SO! Season 7. There’s actually TWO rapes in that season that people talk about... one that kinda sorta unintentionally actually happened and one that absolutely didn’t happen and wouldn’t have happened, but some nutters seem to think it might as well have, because they’re nutters and I guess that’s what nutters do. (Nutters gotta... nut? Wait, NO, that’s not what I want D:)
The first one is Gothel/Rapunzel allegedly “raping” Killian. This one’s kind of tricky, because the scenario is weird and there’s no real world equivalent for what occurred. I mean, yes, she bedded him under false pretenses... but it’s not like we can point at real world laws or precedents and be like, “It’s illegal in all 50 states to magically transform your physical appearance into someone else’s for means of tricking an individual into having sex with you.” Magic isn’t real here, so we don’t have precedents or stances on that. However, magic is commonplace in the Enchanted Forest, so you’d think there’d be some kind of standing idea on the morality of banging someone whilst magically pretending to look like someone else - yet Killian doesn’t seem all that put out by it. He’s more upset that she tricked him into impregnating her - which is an altogether different subject.
And ultimately... it doesn’t matter that Gothel disguised her appearance. She didn’t pretend to be someone Killian knew. The person she pretended to be was a complete stranger to him, as was Gothel herself. There was absolutely no reason for her to need the ruse in order to get Killian to jump into bed with her. The ONLY part of her facade that assisted her in that was pretending NOT to be the witch atop the tower. But let’s be real - Killian was there to get something from the witch in the first place. All Gothel really had to do was be herself and say “Neat, stay the night, we’ll hump like bunnies, and I’ll give you what you want in the morning” and he would’ve probably been like, “Oh, wow, that’s a better deal than I expected” and get straight to the banging part.
No, the people who were intended to be tricked by Gothel’s ruse was the audience. The whole scheme was cooked up by the writers to make the audience go, “Oh! Rapunzel is the mother of Hook’s daughter!” and then DUN DUN DUN!!! No, it’s actually Mother Gothel!!! With that being the case, the story wasn’t presented to the actors as a “rape story.” The writers, actors, directors, editors, etc, etc didn’t mean for it to be one, and didn’t create it with that in mind. But the audience looked at it and jumped to “OMG she tricked him into having sex with her, that’s rape!” And while yeah, technically it is... it wasn’t meant to be. So when the actors (particularly Emma Booth) were questioned about it on social media, they went with what they were TOLD about the scene and how they PLAYED it - which was that yes, she tricked him, but she didn’t rape him. And even the trick was more about her tricking him into instant fatherhood than her tricking him to sleep with her in the first place.
So that’s the one rape you’ll hear about in regards to S7. And it’s actually part of canon and is a tricky situation that people have differing opinions on and can get kinda heated up about.
The other one never happened at all, but you’ll still occasionally run into someone talking about it. The anti-S7 brigade only watched episode 2 of that season and the finale - the episodes Jen took part in. Episode 2 is the one where they reveal that S7′s Hook is actually Wish Hook from another realm - and where he reveals that he has a daughter he’s trying to reunite with. When he confesses to his failed ruse, he says his plan was to pretend to be Killian, return to Storybrooke as him, and get a True Love’s Kiss from Emma so that he could break the curse on his heart. Some people who aren’t too good with logic twisted his words and claim that his plan was to take Killian’s place permanently. This would mean staying in Storybrooke and staying with Emma - and, presumably, having sex with her as married couples do. In other words, having sex with her under false pretenses.
Now, anyone who actually paid attention to the episode or anything about Wish Hook’s storyline knows that’s bullshit. The entire purpose of his plan was to cure his poisoned heart curse so he could reunite with Alice. He can’t reunite with Alice if he’s living in Storybrooke and schtupping a chick he only ever met once when he was drunk and fat and she threw him across a clearing. It just simply doesn’t make sense. His plan was to get that True Love’s Kiss and go find Alice. There’s also the fact that he didn’t kill Killian. He only knocked him out, because he didn’t intend on masquerading as him for more than that one day, to get that one kiss. If he needed to ensure he could live the rest of his life as OG Killian, he would’ve killed him.
Incidentally, the nutters also love to call Wish Hook a murderer (as if both Hooks aren’t murderers already anyway?) and claim he did mean to kill OG Killian, which would mean he either illogically knocked him out and figured “I’ll come back here later, at an even less convenient time, to finish him off,” or thought he HAD killed him, and literally raced back to the dock to... what? Drag his corpse back to Emma and be like, “Thought you might want this back”?
So that’s the two “rapes” in Season 7 that you might see people mention. One literally never happened, and the other was more of the writers so desperately wanting a “GOTCHA!” moment for the viewers that they kinda sorta accidentally raped a guy without meaning to. Incidentally, if anyone wants content of the quasi-kinda-oops-rape of Killian, I tagged it “snookered” because with a blog like mine, the “nonconsensual” tag is reserved for, uh, much rapier things.
Anyway! Thanks for the ask! I hope you enjoyed your long rant XD

HEY here’s Danni yet again ranting about writing bc all I ever do is read books on writing and stare at my WIPS and cry. I’m gonna ramble a bit on word choice and how I personally like to go about that, since I keep running into “USE THESE WORDS INSTEAD” posts and wanted to deposit my thoughts to anyone particularly interested in ‘em.
Ok, so a lot of times I come across those Tumblr posts that are like “Use any of these words other than this general one in your writing!” and I legit always look at the list of “synonyms” and about half of those words do not have close enough definitions to be used interchangeably. Words used irresponsibly can result in just as much dissonance as bland/basic word choice, so nothing is gained. But as a pretentious, flowery writer who loves romantic and poetic prose, I can’t deny the importance of varying word choice. So, what do we do? If these posts give the impression of simply listing the synonyms list of commonly used words that I can’t just switch out easily, how can I change my word choice to keep the flow and avoid stagnancy?
Allow me to offer a pretty boring but still important standard for your consideration: Try to refrain from switching up word choice just for the sake of switching up word choice.
It’s definitely good to incorporate a wide vocabulary in your writing, not just to retain the interest of your readers, but also fosters language development and comprehension skills for yourself! But at the end of the day, if you’re looking up synonyms for a word and none of their definitions really fit the idea you’re going for, then you’ve already got the perfect word. Use language deliberately, and use it well.
BUT!!! What if you still want to vary verbiage, but your story’s context/scene are making you feel trapped in a specific realm of generic words. Here’s another one that I almost always use in my stuff -- and it’s Re-thinking your scene to generate more evocative language.
This strategy is sometimes disguised as that whole “Change your Setting” tip you might come across in writing advice forums. But if your story’s setting needs to be specific and cannot be changed, then definitely I recommend this instead.
Sometimes, the scene I have in my head, the way my characters interact with the plot and each other -- there are only so many words befitting of those strict and specific instances. So, I re-imagine the scene -- not so much the weather or setting, but more figuratively speaking. I imagine myself some dwinky little director man, changing the lighting, re-writing possible dialogue, re-thinking character presentation, doing the scene exactly the same except “a little to the left” (lol) -- all for the sake of discovering just what word-choice can really make this scene “pop”. While I don’t have the energy to write it all out (if you do, like wow I envy u sdhgjfg), I already spend a lot of time daydreaming, so this is perfect for those dreamers who already fixate on their storylines. For instance, changing the “lighting” of a scene can affect the tone, thus changing what syntax structure I want to use; a scene I might cast in blue, somber colors might employ more poetic, gothic writing, words more pertaining to heart-wrenching emotions that reverberate like cathedral bells in the ribcage. Or, that same scene cast in summery daylight of orange and yellow can demonstrate more vitality, naive and seemingly eternal, leaving a brightness in your smile and a twinkle in your eyes. See what I did there? Get a little silly with it - Hell, sometimes when I make that figurative lighting ironic, contrasting like a sad scene with a “happy” tone, it evokes a strange emotion seldom realized in life, but somehow so exceedingly real that it tends to become my more favorite scenes in a fic. While these can be very trial-and-error and might not come across the way you hoped with your readers the first few times, it’s always worth trying if you find it particularly fun.
Right. So we’re still left with that initial question of how can I vary my writing without simply switching up words used in a synonym list?
Well, first, please always look at the definitions of each of those “synonyms”. While, yeah, they are definitely synonyms, but there’s a reason why they’re separate words. Always have confidence that the words you’re using are the best words you can be using in a scene (or at least pretend to have confidence, since literally that’s me everyday of my life). Get friendly with online dictionaries (personally I like online the best bc they’re databases and therefore update a bit easier than a traditional print dictionary). If you’re feeling spicy, seek out a word’s historical usage - sometimes, it can give an extra dimension of POP that can sometimes feel like an Easter egg for readers and rewards those who either seek out that information or already know it.
For the record, I’m very much an “emotional” writer. I like passionate language, words that particularly strike a chord with me. Your story may not play well with this advice, so disclaimer hgfhggfh - BUT certainly there is plenty reason to beware of just spamming “Find & Replace” all your common words to try and sound better in your writing. Seek out those who’s writing resonates with you. Seek out references and support. Curate your learning experiences so that your writing skills evolve in the best way they can in your amazing care. Certainly don’t just listen to me - try new things, see what works and what doesn’t, and proceed from there. But like, seriously, let’s move on from the whole “said is dead” propaganda - educate, don’t replicate.

go ahead a rant about the worst character ever in a drama
Tumblr media
I never got around to making my exit rant for go ahead, which was a drama I adored in the beginning, with its heartwarming and heartwrenching found family plot that was well written and well acted, then lost its way with the confusing and unnecessary love pentagons between the characters (and all those messy romantic storylines went nowhere interesting anyways, a waste of screentime), then got back to being good with the family drama and a great exploration of emotional manipulation and the weight of cultural pressure on family obligation and how that leads to psychological and physical domestic abuse and the trauma it carries, etc.... and then the drama stabs us in the back with that ending by trying to make is sound happy and hopeful and going against everything they have been telling throughout the drama.
I love LX’s sister. She was bratty, but understandably so regarding the circumstances and I hated how the drama treated her. Conversely I viscerally hate LX’s mom. Like I feel angry just by watching her face.
It was a horror movie ending disguised as a happy one bc psycho mom is leaving with only the daughter to focus all her crazy on, after finally giving up on torturing her son, and that girl already has a huuuge guilt complex bc she felt like she forced her brother to stay for her sake bc she asked him to when she knew he was miserable.
And while that talk with newly “adopted” older brother might have made her feel  better about that since he told her she was allowed to be "selfish" bc she was a kid and couldn't handle it on her own, that talk might actually make things worse in the future bc now she's an adult and if stuff goes wrong she'll probably just try to be a self sacrificing idiot about it and keep it to herself and handle cray cray monster mom on her own bc she feels like she owes enough to her brother as it is.
Also, even if she did have her whole life back in Singapore, she loved having her brother around, got a new older brother, warmed up to her sister in law and was getting a nice and warm extended family, instead of a one member asylum household. The only reason she agreed to go back in the end, after finally settling in a new place, was just to get her crazy mother away from her beloved brother bc she knows it's the only way he'll be happy.
So she's going back with the parent who just had such a self absorbed psychotic obsessed pseudosuicide attempt that made it all about her son and had zero to say about her younger and already orphaned daughter (that shows how much psycho cares about her). Fuck her and fuck this drama for trying to pass this ending as hopeful and healing when all I felt was terror and dread.
Now, disclaimer that the only reason I feel this way is bc I am 100% aware that this is a work of fiction and their mother is a fictional character and I’d never say this about a rl person. In fact  kudos for the actress bc she nailed the self victimized bitch who is the worst kind of bully but truly believes she is the wronged one, making me actively hating her so much she became the worst ( in a good way) drama character I can remember, surpassing every psycho period emperor, and 2nd lead creep.
But...
After that ending I was like, good for LX to be rid of that bitch, but just so you know how much I hated their mom, my hope is that in canon she eventually and hopefully soon kills herself in Singapore. I mean, her daughter will be traumatized and it will be terrible, but she already is anyways, and neither sibling will ever know true peace or happiness as long as she lives. She is the very definition of toxic.

A Rant About IDW Optimus
⚠️COMIC SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT⚠️
sO i've been wanting to rant about this for a while, because i was really sad and disappointed about IDW Optimus' story and what they did with him.
disclaimer- i don't really know what happened after Til All Are One or what happened during Revolution because... well because i was so DONE with the storyline. it felt really repetitive and just... made me mad.
at the start of phase 2 of the IDW transformers comics (The Death Of Optimus Prime), i actually found what they did with optimus rather enjoyable. he changed his name back to Orion Pax and went rogue, which i found really refreshing (plus, his design for this particular comic? HOT)
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HIM
ANYway, his decision to go into self exile was very in character (which, in all honesty, is the last time we see something like this), and sort of justified. his choice to leave and give cybertron back to its people was a smart one in my opinion. to the returning neutrals, optimus represented the old cybertron and the war, and he knew that reminders of that was the last thing the planet needed. they never would've willingly accepted him as their leader anyway.
i was also HERE for optimus being confused when he first got back. he thought he was dead, then realized he wasn't, and then wandered until he found himself in iacon being yelled at.
Tumblr media
i love his- "Just what the hell is going on?" Especially since in other continuities (aside from bayverse) he doesn't even use cybertronian swears. i just really love seeing small bits of emotion from him. that probably comes from watching TFP when i was younger and the lack of emotion from him in that particular show.
after his exile arc with hardhead, wheelie, and garnak, it started to get worse. he was slowly losing that certain character that he had before. when he began working with the camiens and the mistress of flame, it felt as if his entire personality had been replaced. but despite this, i kept reading. i thought, "it'll be fine. he just has to get over this whole "being a self-proclaimed religious figure" thing and he'll go back to normal. there's absolutely NO WAY that this could get worse."
holy SHIT was i wrong.
i literally had to stop reading because after his whole "i'm just gonna casually invade earth" thing-
Tumblr media
-i couldn't even read it anymore. it just... fUCK it was sad to see a character i love so much turn out like this. the writers just screwed over his entire existence in the comics and i hated it so much.
in conclusion:
basically the only comics worth reading from phase 2 are MTMTE and Lost Light. i literally can't think of a single bad thing to say about them. plus, those two series are a lot more creative and light-hearted compared to Robots in Disguise/Transformers. Til All Are One is good too, but if i'm being honest the only reason i read it was because i heard that BDKO was canon.
welp- that's basically it for this rant i guess
cottoncandy out ✌️

another THOUGHT
Cause istg i am on a role rn. If anyone has the time and writing ability to write these ideas GO DO IT. I enable you.
OK THOUGHT: The Dark Tower - The Hollow Queen and With All My Heart storylines but change it up a bit. The Dark Tower, The Hollow Queen The Hollow Warlock and With All My Heart
Like what if instead of Gwen, Merlin got kidnapped?
Note: I do realize after my last post that I am making some eps more Merlin-centric and that’s bc i feel like if this happened we would get more character development. just a thought.
Note again: you can interpret this as platonic or romantic i dont really care but bc im a big rom merthur shipper, im taking this in the romantic interpretation
Note again again: can people comment like if they like ideas like this cause im down to have more thoughts. like this is fun. i feel great.
Ok as always background:
1. Gwen is Queen, Camelot needs a queen so she is queen, but she is not married to Arthur, she is married to Lance (they did him so dirty in the show)
2. Arthur has feelings but he doesn’t really know that he has feelings. like he gets a fluttery feeling whenever Merlin smiles but just chalks it up to heart burn.
3. Morgana knows who Emrys is. Cause if she is the High Priestess, im gonna assume she knows about the crystal cave and asked it “crytal crystal in the ground, who the hell is emrys?” and it just showed a pic of merlin and she was like “aww hell nah”
ok on to thought-->
So Morgana finds out about Merlin and his magic and is pissed. She plots to torture him for the pain he has caused her. she also remembered what Agravaine (ew) told her when he was helping her, that Arthur had the knights comb the forests in search of Merlin, ultimately going himself to save Merlin. also if she can get Emrys to her side, then maybe all of the magic population would side with her and help takeover Camelot. So she plans to kidnap him and take him to the dark tower.
so cue that scene with all the knights and Gwen but this time with Merlin too bc Gwen misses him and wants to chat like old times.
BAM MORGANA
now some of the knights get bitten and gwen gets knocked unconcious but Merlin tries to stand up to her, but she subdues him quick bc we need that for plot.
the remaining knights go back to Arthur, commence angst bc oh no Merlin.
Arthur remembers the fear he felt the last time Merlin was kidnapped by the men but doesn’t know that Merlin was kidnapped by Morgana then too. Either way, he needs to get his bff/love back.
Merlin faces the same hallucinations but its everyone reacting badly when they find out about his magic
Leon - “YOU BETRAYED YOUR FRIENDS AND ARTHUR, HOW COULD YOU”
Gwaine - “YOU LIED TO ME WHEN I TOLD YOU ABOUT MYSELF, I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS” (not super strong ik, if someone has a better one...)
Elyan and Gwen - “MAGIC KILLED OUR FATHER AND NOW WE WILL GET OUR REVENGE”
Percival - “MAGIC (CENRED) KILLED MY FAMILY NOW I WILL KILL YOU”
Lancelot - “YOU LIED AND GOT ME BANISHED, YOU SAID YOU WOULD HELP ME MERLIN”
and then Arthur’s would hurt the most “YOU LIED TO ME ALL THESE YEARS I TRUSTED YOU YOU KILLED MY FATHER YOU COULD HAVE SAVED MORGANA YOU ALMOST GOT GAIUS KILLED YOU MONSTER...”
the “monster” part would kill him inside and is thus the breaking point for him where he falls into Morgana’s curse.
Now commence the rest of the episode Dark Tower, the same way except that the weird fairy actually helps the rescue party bc she believes that Merlin is good and that they all need him and Elyan doesn’t die bc my boi deserves better than that too.
They get him back and he seems fine. But he really isnt
I dont have any real ideas for the Hollow Warlock its just a cool title I thought. The main pivotal part should be Merlin meeting with Morgana and monologuing about living in Camelot scared and saving Arthur and not being seen which makes the viewers see a side of Merlin that is not seen often. almost like a Dark!Merlin AU.
Ok, now to With All My Heart. All the knights, Arthur and Gwen notice Merlin acting odd. So they follow him and notice him consorting with Morgana. Arthur is crushed bc the one person, his other half, who he knew would never betray him has now gone and done this. When they speak with Gaius and he tells them that Merlin has fallen to Morgana’s will, then they all are relieved bc that means that Merlin doesn’t actually want to betray Arthur. Arthur is now more determined than ever to get him back. So cue funny scene with a dinner with knights, arthur, gwen and gaius. even mordred.
BAM merlin unconscious and ready to be saved!
Now adventure! Quest! Drama! Angst!
On a night where they have to stop to rest and merlin is still conked out, they swap stories of M’s heroic deeds and funny moments. they plan to tell him all of this when he wakes up cause that boy doesn’t get enough praise.
Now they are at the fancy lake (im a little lazy to figure out the name) the only downside to my idea is that there can’t be a Dolma. or maybe there is a Dolma! that isnt merlin in disguise.
Merlin wakes up and like how Gwen went on a mad tirade for a sec, he goes on for a whole 10 mins and inadvertently reveals his magic. He vents it all out in an anger infused rant and talks about how he wants to be loved and seen and is crying as well as shouting. Everyone is horrified and Arthur feels guilty and betrayed. Percival knocks him out so that they can talk about this. They spend the night there and decide to wait til the morning to decide to help M or not (basically they all would save M they jus dont know if A would save him or not [even though they all know he would]).
Arthur sleeps and ,through Kilgarrah’s (is that how you spell it?) creepy ass voodoo magic, sees a life without Merlin in it. He wakes up with a shout and realizes. That. was. a Nightmare. a life without Merlin was literally a nightmare. He thinks back to the rant and knows that even though Merlin was scared and did things selflessly, he meant no harm to camelot and did it all out of Love. Bc he loved Arthur. Arthur then has an epiphany and realizes his “heart burn” is emotions. yike. And with that Arthur decides to help M.
They get him to the lake and its basically a repeat of the day before with the screaming and shouting. But this time, Morgana’s men have arrived. With Morgana. cause drama.
Now the knights and gwen grab their swords and make a wall while M and A stay behind. Arthur tries to get through to Merlin and says “I am sorry with all my heart” and Merlin hesitates.
Then a few of the evil dudes get through the wall and advance towards Arthur and Merlin. Arthur steps forward to fight and Merlin watches and realizes that Arthur would fight for him, would die for him just as Merlin had vowed to do. this man was worth it and that he knew that with all his heart.
Merlin walks into the lake, glows a little and walks out normal. he like slow walks past the wall and uses his magic in a super badass way and just scares Morgana bc of how powerful she is. she yeets herself out of there and everyone hugs merlin and they tell him how much they all love him. Arthur in particular just kisses him right there and then, all adrenaline and happiness.
On the way home, he tells the stories of all the times he used magic. they realize that even though he was under Morgana’s will, this is still what he felt, the fear, the anxiety, the pain. Arthur goes back and repeals the ban and makes Merlin his consort. prob some nice angst with requited love.
the end.
someone write this pls. i have these thoughts at 11:23 pm and dont have the motivation to actually write something like this.

When most people think of anti-hero or villain teams in the DC Universe the immediate group that comes to mind is the Suicide Squad. It's certainly a novel concept: A bunch of street-level villains getting bombs stuck in their head and sent out on the kind of missions that no one else is crazy enough or desperate enough to attempt. It's resulted in some pretty classic comics too. No disrespect to Rick Flagg and company, but DC's got a much better villain team on its roster; a gang of damaged or outright deranged misfits who take on some of the most twisted quests ever to pop up in the DCU, that's when they're not hooking up stabbing each other in the back. Behold, the Secret Six in all their unstable, lovable glory.
While a TV adaption was once optioned by CBS, the Secret Six has always been an obscure title. The team originally started as a spy comic of sorts in the 1960s, followed by a reboot in the 80s. The most beloved and interesting version of the team came to form with writer Gail Simone's Villains United mini-series, created as part of the Countdown to Infinite Crisis tie-ins.

Led by a disguised Lex Luthor under the moniker of Mockingbird, the team consisted the Suicide Squad's own Deadshot, and a cadre of D-list villains and new creations like Catman, Cheshire, Knockout, Ragdoll, a random Parademon, and Scandal Savage. While many team-members would be killed off over time or switched with more high-profile characters, Catman, Deadshot, Scandal, and Ragdoll remain mainstays of the team through all of Simone's initial run on the series. While they initially started as villains bent on world domination, in truth, the Six are a lot closer to outlaws or mercenaries. They take on various jobs, some heroic and some outright despicable. Really anything that puts meat on the table. It should also be worth noting that they're all a bunch of weirdos.

Villains United proved to be lightning in a bottle that would spawn an entire run. The series about a group of oddball characters that don't fit in with heroes or villains struck a perfect balance between black comedy and character-driven drama. Every character in the series gets such a unique and fitting characterization. Deadshot is a pornstache personified; Floyd Lawton has never been as skeezy or charming as he is under Simone's pen. Ragdoll is essentially a violent contortionist version of  Dean Craig Pelton from Community. Scandal Savage is the badass lesbian ninja and daughter of Vandal Savage, who serves as team leader and voice of reason throughout the series. Lastly, Catman is probably the most remarkable character on the team and the closest thing to the protagonist of the series. Before Secret Six, Thomas Blake was written as an overweight loser who was eaten by a talking Gorilla in Brad Meltzer's Green Arrow series. Simone rewrote the character from the ground up and created one of the most layered and cool Batman knock-off's ever. He also snarls like a cat when he fights.

Apart from the main four team members, Bane and an immortal banshee named Jeannette round out the team for the rest of the series. While Jeannette is simultaneously a frightening and charming character with a unique backstory, Simone's take on Bane is one of the best. Secret Six sees Bruce Wayne's greatest foe trying to turn a new leaf. He's kicked his steroid habit and is acting with utter honor, Bane also immediately tries to be an upstanding father figure to any distressed young woman he sees, resulting in a hilarious running gag throughout the series.

Secret Six is a mature book in every sense of the word. It's packed to the brim with sex and violence, to the point where it's absolutely incredible that DC allowed some of the stuff in the book to happen. Catman bites a man's face off, there's a sex scene between Mad Hatter and one of his hats, and almost everything that comes out of Ragdoll's mouth is jaw-droppingly obscene. But apart from all the blood, and bad words that usually get things pulled off TV, Secret Six features intricate character development and some very grown-up storylines. They find themselves rescuing a group of enslaved Amazons (after they're hired to guard the prison of course). Catman's infant son is kidnapped by a group of psychotic criminals, leading him onto a bloodthirsty rampage. Scandal grapples with the death of her girlfriend for a large part of the series. Then of course there's that trip to hell.

"The Secret Six goes to Hell" may sound like the title of a schlocky horror movie, but it reads like something far different. Each character comics to the realization that they're damned no matter what. While Deadshot and Ragdoll aren't particularly shocked about their own fates, it's a surprise for the rest of the team. For Bane in particular, it's heartbreaking. The series had served as a moving redemption story for the Man Who Broke the Bat, discovering that he won't truly change is a pretty haunting conclusion. However, he's since proven to be pretty irredeemable.
While there are lot's of very dark moments in Secret Six, the tone of the book is never dreary or bleak. A slice-of-life feeling is prevalent in the series that is absent from the bombastic, multiverse shattering world of superhero comics. It's not uncommon to see members of the Six eating dinner together or chilling out in a hot tub. One issue sees Catman pick up a tub of ice cream for a depressed Scandal Savage. Deadshot and Jeanette end up in a fairly healthy and supportive relationship together. And speaking of romance, the other members of the team set Bane up on a date and it's as hilarious as it sounds. Refreshing little asides like this differentiate the book even further from standard superhero fare.

There will never be another team like the Six. No other series from the Big Two will ever be packed with this much humor, tragedy, and outright weirdness. Where else can you see a joke like Catman transform into a compelling character or Vandal Savage get stabbed in the neck with some chopsticks by his own daughter? Where else can you see Bane try to make his team-mates go on a diet or Deadshot get in a Western style duel with Deathstroke? And on that note, there's even a one-off issue that sees an Old West version of the team, and it's awesome too. Gail Simone created one of the  ultimate villain comic book teams. A unique series about a group of terrible people who love each other taking down worse people that don't. The Secret Six is one of the funniest and most badass teams in all of comics, and they don't need to be implanted with bombs in their necks to do it either.

Okay, what lightning based creature from folklore and mythology might you interpret Josh being spliced with? Same with Corey, because "chameleon" don't cut it lol
Ugh, so many.
Corey:
My first thought would be any of the practically endless variety of household spirits and fairies attributed with invisibility - most of them usually denoted as being mischief makers, not inherently good or evil but more aligned to like a chaotic-neutral kinda thing than any particular morality.
These include, but are not limited to, various kinds of goblin-esque creatures that aren’t necessarily what one would picture when thinking of goblins in terms of like, Lord of the Rings. But brownies, hobgoblins and trow from various Celtic regions of Europe, or something like the duende from Iberian folklore perhaps, some takes on the domovoi from Russian legends, or maybe French lutins though they’re a bit more malevolent in nature than most of these others....but any of those could easily acount for the invisibility/camouflage Corey’s capable of, and there’s a lot of them that like, being part of Corey’s ‘nature’ could pair well with the fact that he’s small and unobtrusive in appearance, as well as being a shy, insecure kid not above expressing (justified) resentment or letting that dictate his actions or behavior towards people.
A boggart could also be interesting because there are as many takes on the boggart being a physical flesh and blood shapeshifter or fairy as there are it being a kind of spirit, and invisibility is as much a part of its nature as taking on the appearance of something someone fears....and there’s a lot of potential IMO in the almost irony of making Corey of all characters be part ‘boogeyman’ - since the boggart is the basis of boogeyman legends.
A sylph could be interesting, but it would have to be a Teen Wolf take on the actual sylphs of legend, like putting its own spin on it like it does with a lot of the other supernatural creatures that show up. Because as is, a sylph is one of the four elemental types of beings along with salamanders, undines and gnomes, and so its literally just a creature of air - but invisible and spritely, etc. So a Teen Wolf version of a sylph that’s flesh and blood at least some of the time and even CAN be ‘spliced’ into the chimera genome in some way....like, you’d definitely have to tweak your version to make it work, but it could work. And sylph fits a lot about Corey as a character, and it opens up doors for him to have powers beyond just invisibility, such as maybe giving him a kind of telekinesis or even the ability to levitate.
There’s a couple of Finnish beings of legends that could fit the bill, like keiju (kinda a Finnish version of pixies or sprites) or even tonttu, which are like a kind of....proto-Christmas elf, almost? LOL. But again, both are attributed with invisibility and discretion, though the keiju tend to be less concerned with human affairs while the tonttu are normally seen as helpful beings and friendly to humanity.
A bodach could be interesting too, they’re Scottish tricksters, usually more malevolent than neutral but not necessarily. Again, normally invisible, often follow people and frightening them with the sound of footsteps while there’s not even footprints in sight.....BUT the thing that’s interesting about this at least in terms of Teen Wolf, is there are various kinds of bodach like the Bodach Glas, the Dark Grey Man, who are also perceived as death omens. Like they’re normally invisible, and the only time you see one is if you’re going to die, and so given the other death-omen related beings in TW like banshees and hellhounds, Corey actually being part Bodach could have some interesting implications or associations....like, maybe if it turns out that he can turn invisible whenever he wants, but occasionally he realizes someone sees him even when he doesn’t want them to....but when that happens, that’s actually just because or a sign that the person is destined to die soon. Especially given the way Corey was used in 6A during the Wild Hunt storyline, like....you could definitely tie that into things there or go in similar directions with that.
Tbh though, I’m most intrigued I think by the idea of what if Corey was part....leshy, or one of the various analogues to the leshy in different regions like the borovoi in Russia or the Lithuanian mishkinis. But the leshy, and other related beings are like....a nature spirit, albeit a physical being rather than like a true spirit-spirit. But they’re usually nature GUARDIANS, specifically, and most associated with woods and forests. There’s also a fun kind of irony because one of the attributes of the leshy, aside from its invisibility or ability to disguise itself among the trees by blending in with its backgrounds, is like....the leshy is a size changer as well, and typically defaults as an enormous being, as tall as a tree....but who can also shrink to the size of a blade of grass. Given that Corey’s on the small size, this kinda amuses me, but also could make for a fun twist if he eventually realizes his powers don’t let him just turn invisible or fade into the background, but like, he can change his size and height as well. Make him like an Ant-Man kinda character.
But another thing that’s particular interesting about the leshy, and makes me lean towards it, is that the leshy isn’t just a generic forest spirit or guardian, but is associated with hunting in specific. But not in the human kind of way, but the hunters of nature.....as in, the leshy is often surrounded by or depicted as always being in the company of...packs of wolves. Occasionally bears, too, but they’re most associated with wolves. Which makes making Corey part leshy and part of a wolf pack particularly fitting, I think. And also sets up some interesting conflicts with hunters like Argent, even if Corey doesn’t even KNOW why he’s so antagonistic towards them, but like, as part leshy, he would likely be prone to very Not Good vibes about human hunters. Which also creates some interesting implications about the WHY of the Dread Doctors of all beings choosing to make a chimera that was part leshy aka anti-hunter....given that the lead Dread Doctor, Marcel, pretty much did everything he did because he was super obviously in love with Sebastian aka the Beast, the prime target and enemy of hunters everywhere, and the whole reason the Argent dynasty began in the first place.
Josh:
I’d need to give some more thought to him. I have seen people headcanon that Josh was spliced with some kind of raiju, which is a creature from Japanese legends typically associated with various gods of thunder. The raiju is a kind of thunder-beast, and usually takes the form or appearance of a blue-white wolf shaped from lightning, though it can also take other forms like that of a weasel, a badger or even a dragon.
I mean, this one definitely does work, its just I’m kinda like.....eh, just because TW has fucked around with and fucked over Japanese legends enough on the show without putting any real effort into prioritizing or centering them or the characters associated with them....aka all our rants about Kira and the nameless/barely-a-character nogitsune. I suspect my resistance to having Josh be part raiju is less that like, it doesn’t fit or make sense than it is mostly just.....I don’t trust the execution of most of the people I’ve seen do the headcanoning him as such, lol, so I’m knee-jerk inclined to just run the opposite direction with it, lol. Also, along similar lines, just NO times infinity to having him be in any way part thunderbird because Leave Native American legends alone Teen Wolf, You’ve Done Enough.
There are a number of other kinds of lightning birds though, from regions all around the world, like Slavic mythology and folklore has a couple, particularly associated with Perun, there’s a few in South American regions, Zulu folklore has a lightning bird called the impundulu....but even just going back to Eastern Europe with this, in the sense that since so many of the other creatures TW focused on originate there and that’s where the DD are from, its not a stretch to imagine beings or creatures from that region being particularly central to a lot of their experiments....like, for instance in terms of that reasoning, my personal preference would be to go with one of the various takes on the shtriga or strigoi that associate them with lightning (mostly ball lightning) that could work and be something a bit different.
Because the strigoi are basically the basis for Stoker’s take on vampires in particular, so instead of being specifically derived from some kind of lightning-specific creature or being like the raiju, making Josh part strigoi would mean his electricity powers were really only incidental to his chimera nature rather than the focus of it, and since the Teen Wolf chimeras are all one third human, one third werewolf, and one third something else....Josh being a strigoi chimera would effectively make him TW’s version of a vampire-werewolf hybrid.
(Also, like with the leshy, the strigoi makes a certain kind of sense to be spliced with werewolves or associated with a wolf pack, because the strigoi is pretty much definitively THE version of a vampire that having vampires have strong connections to and imagery associated with wolves, or vampires being able to shapeshift into wolves specifically.....like the strigoi are where those legends and takes in particular all stem from).
And I mean, Josh as part strigoi definitely puts his teeth when he’s in his shifted form in a totally different light, lolol.
