Stu: Casey Becker got off lucky.

Tatum: Why would you say that?

Stu: Live fast, die young, leave a good-looking corpse... I mean, who wants to get old? By the time you're twenty-five, you're practically a senior citizen.

(audience laughter. Drunk Guy is still talking.)

Billy: ... Anyhow, I didn't appreciate being grilled by the Gestapo.

Sidney: They're grilling everyone, Billy.

Stu: Yeah, but why did Himbry need to know my waist size?

Tatum: Oh, he didn't ask for my waist size. He just slipped his hands around me and–

Sidney (interrupting): I just don't know who would've killed them.

Randy: Or why.

Billy: And didn't Casey just get cast as the lead in the spring musical?

Tatum: (sadly) Hello Dolly.

Billy: Right... Weren't you called back for the lead, Tatum?

Tatum: Three times! (dramatically) I would've killed for the part!

Sidney: Hey, Stu, didn't you used to date Casey?

Tatum: I thought you dumped her for me?

Tatum: And besides, Stu was with me last night.

Drunk Guy: Yeah I was.

Tatum: All night... We're experimenting with pegging, so it–

Billy (interrupting): Woah!

(audience laughter)

(Drunk Guy and his girlfriend have unintelligible conversation)

Billy: You are?

Stu: (quietly) Yeah...

(audience laughter. Drunk Guy still talks)

Randy: Dun dun dun dun duuuun!

Stu: Yeah, and where were you?

Randy: Working, thank you.

Stu: Really? Thought Video Fantasy fired you.

Randy: Twice. (In an odd voice) So did you really put her liver in the mailbox? I heard they found her liver in the mailbox.

Tatum: (chokes) I'm trying to eat here!

Stu: Yeah, she's getting pretty pissed, Randy.

Drunk Guy (interrupting): Liver alone.

Stu: Better liver alone!

(friends groan at bad joke)

Billy: Hey, lay off him, Stu. You know murder gives him a heart-on.

Stu: Aw, I'm sorry, could you ex-spleen what you mean?

Randy: (sarcastic) Brilliant one–

i think part of what makes the fallout setting so compelling to me is that, personally, the very, very broad strokes of the world aren't interesting to me, but the closer you zoom in on it the more fascinating it becomes. i think it serves as a really compelling foundation for genre fiction because it has so much to pull from. the regressive politics and pop/pulp culture of an exaggerated hyper 50s and the atomic age, and the desolation, black comedy and wry optimism of the post apoc. i wrote a hardboiled noir, but that's only because i like it the best. for fan projects not beholden to hundreds of millions of dollars being thrown around, i think it has strong enough bones to support almost anything you throw at it. spaghetti western, creature horror stuff, crime dramas, because it was built on all these things in the first place. in my ideal world, i'd love to see an honest to god hollywood golden age wasteland musical played completely straight

TOUGH QUESTION how do i explain the way i functioned for longer than i remember myself qwq

if we are talking. about the sheer volume of things you make. TO BE HONEST I AM DRAWING FOR MYSELF because it's generally easier for me to just make what i want to see. for example i want to see art and comic with han brothers - i plan out things, talking them over with friends until there is enough meat on the bones for me to make it happen. and who cares if it's Super Unique (even to my own gallery) - if i want it, i should make it. i want a lot of things. so i draw a lot of things.

other part is just talking about whatever i guess. :D i have - well, not a lot of, but - some thoughts on, for example, creation of art, connection. remembering names of people who'd leave sooner or later. watching someone leave etc etc. and they happen to work for certain characters. to me all the black and white comics, for example, feel the same - all mourning, grief and loneliness, but you ask about being creative so clearly you shouldn't trust yourself if you start feeling the same! :D

if we are talking technical part, i make sketches or write things down whenever i have A Thought? they all go to the future folder, from which i then either pick something to finish or discard/repurpose for something else. i draw almost every day but that's because i can physically and have time for it, i love every part of the process and made it a habit since high school, i don't think i ever spent more than few days in a row not drawing. but that might not be an option for everyone, which is honestly fine. you probably should not compare yourself to tumblr user hehearse, 28, unemployed NDNFHFJF

tldr. write down or draw things that come to mind for future use. drag your own thoughts out and find where they fit. and make whatever you yourself want to see because you'll get addicted. who else could make something perfect for you if not you yourself ^^
