jayvik headcanons !!
feeding you guys since i’ve been a neglectful poster 😭
SFW and NSFW, NSFW under the warning, spoilers up to act three season two !!! most definitely OOC at some points
SFW
• Jayce and Viktor have developed a secret language of sorts. Random phrases, hand movements, looks, and sounds replace actual sentences when they’re in the lab and super into their work. It’s not intentional, and they can’t even translate what most of it means besides it just… making sense in the moment.
• (I saw this before, I believe on Tik Tok or here but I’m not sure?)Jayce was a chubby ass baby. Actually, a fat ass baby. Ximena takes great joy in showing Viktor baby photos where he just looks squishy. If they argue over text, Jayce thinks he’s hilarious if he texts a baby photos with the caption this is who you’re arguing with”.
• Jayce is the type to seem like he’s only into mainstream music, but he’s also really the type of guy to A, listen to the songs his mom likes whenever he feels slightly upset, and B, have a random niche band with four hundred followers on Sound Cloud that he’s been obsessed with for years and is convinced will go big. Viktor tends to listen to music without lyrics, typically video game sound tracks or calm beats while he works. I could also, alternatively, see him being very into insanely heavy metal while he carefully works. You could scream bloody murder and you’re not louder than his headphones.
• Viktor tends to be much more socially aware to undertones in conversations than Jayce. While the latter is good at smooth talking politicians due to Mel’s training, he tends to forget that everything they say tends to have a double meaning. Viktor enjoys telling him exactly who was clearly hating him or hitting on him.
• Viktor is a clothing thief. Genuinely so bad. Jayce entered the relationship with fifteen hoodies in his closet and after seven years, he has one on a good day. They’ve become pajamas and Viktor will be genuinely offended if he takes them back.
• Do not watch a movie with these motherfuckers. They’re talkers— at least when they’re at home, Jayce would be mortified to talk in a public movie theatre. But every single time they’re watching a movie in their apartment, they’re pausing it every three minutes to have a ten minute discussion about a random topic, usually vaguely related to the movie.
• Viktor smokes weed. Sure, maybe some would argue that it’s not good for his health, but he’s a Zaunite living amongst the Piltover elite. He needs a joint once in a while (nightly). Jayce enjoys smoking with him sometimes, but he thinks holding it in makes him look cool and ends up coughing his lungs up.
• Trans man Viktor !!! Jayce tried to be helpful and help with his t-shots, but he tends to end up awkwardly looking at the floor while Viktor does it himself and he’s there for emotional support. He doesn’t like needles.
• Viktor can get slightly cold and Jayce immediately tries to bundle him up. He gets extremely freaked out whenever his loved ones get cold due to the lingering trauma of almost losing his mother. Viktor makes sure he turns the heat up in the colder months so Jayce doesn’t spiral, even though he insists it’s solely because of his pain.
•Jayce learned how to massage people properly (read a book and everything) to help with Viktor’s pain. He’s shockingly gentle for someone his size. Viktor finds a lot of comfort in knowing that someone who could easily hurt him is purposely being so, so gentle with him.
okay freaky time
NSFW
• Agreeing with the popular headcanon, Jayce is such a fucking sub. Holy shit. Sure, he does like to top, but he likes to listen, especially with Viktor. He likes getting to drop his responsibilities and working on making sure Viktor feels good and getting praised in response.
• Jayce always thought that he was a vanilla guy, but Viktor called him a good boy once and the praise kink awoke like a damn sleeper agent.
• Viktor has a bad habit of mixing up his lab voice and bedroom voice. It’s not too different, just a bit of a different vibe. It just gets awkward when Viktor means “come here” and pats his desk as in “look at something I’m working on” and not “bend over the desk”.
• Viktor also tends to treat discovering Jayce’s interests like a science experiment. They don’t have a sex tape, they have a sex voice recorder with Viktor recording their adventures in the funniest way possible.
• I genuinely can’t imagine them taking it too seriously. Sure, there’s serious and tense moments, but there’s a lot of silly, soft, intimate moments of them laughing and joking with each other as they make each other feel good.
• In edition to trans guy Viktor, Jayce is an eater. Whenever he tops, he tends to be a service top, and he genuinely enjoys pleasuring Viktor with his mouth. Whenever Viktor’s pain is acting up, Jayce tends to volunteer to “get his mind off of it” by spending literal hours on his knees, lab— many times while Viktor works on lab reports— or bedroom. He gets his head scratched in return.
• The lab is bedroom #2. Tell me these two freaks were alone with each other constantly for seven years in that lab and nothing ever happened in there? Absolutely not.
• Jayce tends to leave a few marks because he likes to bite a bit, but Viktor thinks it’s hilarious to leave obvious ones. Bright hickies, bite marks, stereotypical back scratches, the works. Before their relationship was public, everyone in Piltover was convinced that Jayce was sleeping around, and Viktor found it really, really funny. Seeing Jayce be slut shamed was the highlight of his day.
• Sure, we can all agree that Jayce is a freak, but Viktor is matching, if not surpassing that freak. They’ve tried everything for the sake of science.
• Viktor really enjoys seeing Jayce beg. It’s almost endearing to see a man of such high status on his knees whining.
• Jayce is loud. Like, really loud. Hearing him through the walls is a genuine concern loud. He is physically incapable of shutting up when he feels good.

9 Queer Movies from the 1990s You May Not Have Heard Of
It's New Years, which means it's time for lists. And while everyone else is doing 'top X of 2023,' I've decided to list 9 queer movies from the 1990s. Why? Because I wanna. Plus, in discussions of representation, I often see folks talk about it with a heavy focus on mainstream 'Hollywood' produced movies, which leads folks to talk as though progress has been linear. As if, in the past there was no/'bad' queer representation and now there is 'good' representation. But of course it's not that simple. Plenty of amazing queer movies were produced in the past decades...they were just indie movies and thus difficult to find in a world prior to Netflix and Mubi and whatnot. But now we have streaming services, so allow me to share some of my favorites from the before times (specifically the 1990s).
Without further ado....here is an alphabetical list of queer movies from the 90s you may not have heard of (especially if you're under 30).

Tumblr media
Beautiful Thing (1996) (dir. Hettie Macdonald)
Before there was Heartstopper, there was Beautiful Thing. It's a story about two gay teens, one sporty and one very much not sporty...and about how they deal with pressure to come out and pressure to hide who they are. It's a very sweet coming of age story, really. However, unlike Heartstopper, in Beautiful Thing the economic class of the protagonists plays an important role in the story (the characters all live on a counsel estate in London). The characters stories are nearly as much about them being working class as it is about the two main character being gay. It's one of the first movies I ever saw about gay teens, and I loved it. I still get a wistful smile every time I hear Mama Cass Elliot's "Make Your Own Kind of Music." (cw for parental abuse)

Edward II (1991) (dir. Derek Jarman)
The real Edward II was King of England for 20 years in the 14th century. At the end of the 16th century, Christopher Marlowe wrote a play about Edward's reign and eventual downfall. In 1991, Derek Jarman streamlined Marlowe's play and brought all the homosexual subtext between Edward and Gaveston way out front. In the film, Edward II is in prison and reflects on the events which have led him to that point. The trouble begins when Edward takes the throne and brings his exiled lover, Gaveston, back to England. All around them the rest of the aristocracy (including Edward's wife) conspire to bring Gaveston down. The movie itself is anachronistic (set in 1991), with minimal sets and costume, and staged a lot like a play. A lot of the dialogue is right out of Marlowe's play, though there are some changes to the story (notably at the end). It's honestly my favorite Derek Jarman movie, and frankly one of my favorite movies, full stop. (cw for blood, animal corpses, violent death)

Tumblr media
Fire (1996) (dir. Deepa Mehta)
Fire is the first film in the Elements Trilogy written and directed by Deepa Mehta. Each film in the trilogy is about different characters in India, with the connection between the three being thematic rather than plot or character. Fire is about two Indian women, Radha and Sita, who form a bond through their struggles living within a traditional "joint-family" (i.e. a family where all extended family live together and all money and resources are shared). The women in this family have very little agency and this film explores how the two main characters navigate through it. The men in this film are also repressed by the social structure in which they live, and this film spends some time looking at that as well. It's a film about queer desire between women living under patriarchy. (All the movies on this list are available on streaming services in the US, except Fire. However, I was able to find it uploaded to a random YouTube channel) (cw for someone catching on fire, brief domestic violence (a slap), and non-consensual kissing)
--
Tumblr media
Happy Together (1997) (dir. Wong Kar-wai)
In Happy Together, two men from Hong Kong travel to Argentina and eventually get stuck there when they run out of money and are unable to return home. The relationship between these two men is very tumultuous, with a lot of arguing and breaking up and getting back together. It's one of the first movies I saw in which queer folks have, just, regular ol' relationship drama - exasperated by the regular ol' struggles of life. (i cant remember if there are any content warnings i should put here; it's been a few years since i've seen it)

Tumblr media
Lilies (1996) (dir. John Greyson)
Lilies is a Canadian film in which a prisoner requests a bishop come to the prison to hear the prisoner's last confession. It quickly becomes clear, however, that the prisoners have something else in mind when they begin staging a play. It turns out the bishop and prisoner knew each other as teens, and the play is about the events in their lives that led up to the prisoner being put on trial. So you end up with a play-within-a-play (or rather a play-within-a-movie). The film weaves between the production staged in the prison and the memory of the events in a really fluid way. All the prisoners portray their characters in the 'memory' sections, which lends itself to some really great moments in the prison sections. And at the heart of this memory/story is a queer love story. (cw for parental abuse, murder, fire, and suicide)
--
Tumblr media
The Living End (1992) (dir. Gregg Araki)
This is a film about two young gay men who are diagnosed HIV positive. Unlike more mainstream films about HIV that came before (and after), The Living End wears its anger and pain on its sleeve. The entire world is entirely fucked up, and so these two men turn to a nihilistic outlook. The acting is just okay and some of the dialog is a bit ridiculous...but what draws me to rewatch this movie is the way that it conveys the emotion of the time. It's a ball of rage manifest on film. (cw for attempted suicide, rape, murder)
--
Tumblr media
Love is the Devil (1998) (dir. John Maybury)
One of the problems with the average biopic is that it attempts to portray a person's entire life in a single movie. Thankfully, Love is the Devil doesn't have that problem; it focuses on only 8 years of Francis Bacon's life - the time he spent with a man named George Dyer. By this point, Bacon was already an extremely famous artist (and, at least in the film, a bit of an asshole). Bacon meets Dyer as Dyer attempts to burgle Bacon's studio - and thus begins an extremely dysfunctional love affair. If you want to see Derek Jacobi and Daniel Craig portray this dysfunctional relationship, then this is the movie for you. Also, if you want to see a biopic that lets the subject of the film be portrayed as a shitty person, this is a film for you. (cw for bdsm, drug use, untreated mental illness, and suicide)
--
Tumblr media
Orlando (1992) (dir. Sally Potter)
From right out the gate, Orlando announces its queer themes by having Quentin Crisp portray Queen Elizabeth I, and Tilda Swinton portray Orlando (a man). From the first scenes it becomes clear that gender is going to be a main theme in the movie. Orlando is a young man who will never grow old and never die. He begins life in the 1500s, during Queen Elizabeth's reign, and we see him (and later, her) throughout the centuries between then and 'present' day (1992). The film is broken into thematic chunks (poetry, politics, society, etc). In each of these chunks we see Orlando's life as it reflects the social norms of the time (especially gender norms).
--
Tumblr media
Swoon (1992) (dir. Tom Kalin)
Like Rope (1948) and Compulsion (1959), Swoon is a film about the Leopold and Loeb murder. Unlike the earlier films, Swoon makes the gay relationship between Leopold and Loeb explicit. Their relationship in the film is fairly uneven, with Loeb being characterized as more of an explicit manipulator. Leopold, on the other hand, is driven more by wanting to please Leob. Complicating this dynamic is the way that Leopold is the one more interested in their sexual relationship. Is Loeb exchanging sex for help with his criminal activities? Or is Leopold committing crimes in order to elicit sex from Loeb? Or both...something a bit more complicated than either/or? The film, especially the latter half, eschews and lampoons the sensationalism of the reporting of the crime from the time. (cw for murder, blood (in black and white), and animal corpses)
--
Honorable mention goes to more well-known movies I didn't put on this list, such as: But I'm a Cheerleader, Velvet Goldmine, Bound, Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Birdcage, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, My Own Private Idaho, Bent...there are actually a whole lot of queer movies from the 1990s, now that I think about it.

Ive been seeing some big youtubers and creators announce (seperately) that they're going on tours, and a lot of of them are full on stage shows. These are people with tens of millions of followers each.
And then I think about the fact that dan and phil are the reason they can. Dan and phil completely pioneered the industry for online creators. They were the first youtubers to do a world tour of a stage show. First youtubers to show that they are actually professional enemtertainers and not just ameteur comedians. They were the first youtubers to have their own radio show in the uk. They were the success story that a lot of people built their success on the back of. If tatinof didnt work, it wouldve taken so much longer before online creators would've been taken seriously by venues as comedians/artists/entertainers. If internet takeover didnt work it would've taken so much longer for creators to be offered jobs in mainstream media, as tv/radio presenters, in documentaries, on gameshows etc.
Like yeah, it probably would've happened eventually anyway, but it happened a lot earlier than it would've bc of them. They were the first. And absolutely no one acknowledges that. No one even knows, except for them and us.
Even though dnp in 2024 are by far not the most prominent creators out there, I do think they have had one of the most successful careers of any youtuber/streamer out there. I think they achieved far more in terms of career success and opportunities with their 4-6million joint subscriber count than most of the people with 20million plus subs have, which is pretty cool. Their careers are not built on 5mins of fame. They have understanding of the industry, work ethic, and skill to ensure long careers, even if those careers morph over time. They wont be youtubers for ever, but they will be successful in whatever they do, that I am certain of.
Idk im just feeling emotions about them. Im proud if them. And im excited to see where they go.
NO NOTES ANON!!!!! this is all so true!
I have seen a lot of people mention the fact that d&p are not as popular as they used to be/don't get as many views as they used to as if it's a negative but I don't think it's bad at all, because of all of what you said. they were doing shit that no one else was doing! they paved the way for youtubers to break out of the yt sphere!! which is so amazing but also they were doing SO MUCH for so long. they were carrying the industry on their backs lmao. so now I'm so happy for them that they have the opportunity to chill out and just do what they wanna do. they're just making the content they wanna make and they aren't concerned with how many views they're getting or trying to remain relevant (which I think they still are, but yk what I mean), and they deserve that. because while everything they did was awesome and should absolutely be celebrated, I think it's great that now they have the opportunity to create more casually and they don't need to worry about doing numbers. like yes yt is still their livelihood but in a much more laid-back way yk? and I think that because they did so much, and like you said have understanding of the industry and a good work ethic, that's what allowed them to build a fanbase that has stuck around and that fanbase is why they can be more relaxed now
I agree they might not be youtubers forever but I'm also excited to see what projects they eventually move on to bc they'll slay fs

Boston Cream Pie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
an: this is fucking appalling. i’m quite proud of it :) . CHRIS WON THE LAST POLL 🎉 and again, the pair are in their late teens 18+
"A WHAT?!"
"A dirty cunt. That's what I call it."
"Fucking WHY?"
"Think about it, Y/n," he dives on the bed and takes my hand. His large palms close mine into a soft fist, "say this is your pussy, right?"
He starts to lick the makeshift pussy and I instinctively pull my hand away.
"Ugh! What are you doing?" I asked inspecting my hand.
"Y/n, this wouldn't be realistic if the pussy wasn't wet. That's fucked up. C'mon." I look him in his eyes before slowly giving my hand back to him. He continues to plunge his tongue before pulling away. He looked at me and smirked before letting spit leak into my hand. My jaw drops and he smiles. He turns my hand to me and I see the white substance leaking out of the hole in my fist.
"See, that's a dirty cunt." He turns my hand back and starts smearing around what has seeped out. He collects it and pushed it into my palm. I just sit there and watch him in awe.
He takes a second and then laps up his mess from my hand and I pull away again,
"Oh, Chris! Ew!" He leaned back and laughed dramatically.
"What do you mean ew? That's one of the most personal things you can do with your partner."
"That and anal."
"Nah. I think anal is a little more mainstream these days. Now, eating your own cum out of a pussy? Not a lot of people do that."
"So, basically you have a breeding kink?”
He shrugged, "I mean I guess playing with the thought of my girl carrying around my kid makes me hard. Plus, seeing a pussy drip with my cum makes me-" he let out a dramatic growl while leaning his head back and rolling is blue eyes.
"So wait, you want to be a dad?"
"Not necessarily right now, but I do like pushing those boundaries."
I chuckle at him and we just looked at each other for a moment before Tara popped in and we all hung out for a few hours.
That night in bed, all I could think about was what happened at Chris’. I looked at my hand and I could still feel his tongue. The way he swirled it around as if he were going in small circles with his cock. My other hand made its way to my throbbing clit and started rubbing. The memory of his pointed tongue going in and out, making sure to hit every wall created by my palm.
I insert two fingers and pump them in and out. I reach as far as I can and feel that spongy organ. I press it against until I'm moaning his name.
"Fuck," I sigh and bury my face in my pillow.
The next day, I got a note in my locker from Chris asking me to come over and I take a while to shoot one back, but agree to go. I've haven't had this feeling about him for long, but after last night he's all I want. I knock on his bedroom door and he answers. I take him in until I realize I'm staring. He saunters over to his bed and lays down. I stop at the threshold, feeling a little weird that I masturbated to my best friend last night.
He sparks up a joint and takes a couple of hits before offering it to me. I walk over to him and grab it and take a seat at the foot of his bed. I take my hits before turning back to him. We do this two more times before the high really sets in. When I turn back to grab it a third, I make sure to brush his fingers with mine. This catches his attention. I put the joint out on the nightstand and go to lay down with him. He looks confused at first, but then gets comfortable. He meets me half way when I grab his face in one hand and lean in to kiss him.
His lips are soft, but sticky from the weed. I push him back and he pulls me on top of him. We stay like this for a short time until he's taking off my shirt. He kisses up my torso before reconnecting our lips. I take off his shirt and he flips us over. His mouth goes to my neck and he starts kissing and biting. I can't help but let out soft moans,
"You don't know how long I've waited for this," he whispered. I moaned again and tried to pry him out of the confined restraints of his pants. He sits up and unbuttons them before pulling them and his boxers off. He unclasps my bra and then removes my pants as well. He starts to move down, but I pull him back up,
"I'm already wet enough. Just please." He kisses me deeply and flips me onto my stomach. I see him reach for something in his nightstand and I stop him,
"No."
"No?"
I turn back and look at him, "I want to be your dirty cunt." He lets out a noise I've never heard before, lining himself up at my entrance. He teases my opening by rubbing himself against it and only pushing hard enough to apply pressure.
"Chris please," I whined.
He pushes his cock deep in me and starts to snap his farmer tanned hips. With no time to adjust, my pussy spasms around him trying to get used to his size. This causes his rhythm to sputter with wild jerks, lurching his bed and its frame into the wall.
“You can’t say shit like that, baby,” his hands bruisingly digging into the skin on my hips. Having a bestial grasp on me physically and mentally.
“Fuck, fuck fuck. Goddamn it,” he chokes out, cheeks already filled with blush and jaw more prominent with how tightly it’s clenched.
“The way your tight pussy is squeezing me. I’ll fill you up until you’re dripping for days. There’s no doubt you’ll be swollen with my seed.”
“Fuck! Please claim me. Make my pussy yours."
He turned me back over to look deep into my eyes. "You look so beautiful like this. Ready and begging to take my cum. Nothing but a cum whore for me. My own personal cum dumpster, hmm? Does that sound good?"
I had no energy to speak. All I could do was clamp around him even harder and pull him closer into me. All I was feeling was blinding white heat when he reached a spot deep within me.
"Fuck, I'm cumming! Please. OH!" I let out a moan and he pressed deep into my hips.
He pounded into me heavily even after I already came, making me squeal at the sensitivity of it all. I dug my nails deep into his tensed shoulder blades making sure he didn’t go anywhere. I let out another loud moan when I felt him shoot long, hot streams deep within me. So deep I'm sure it would still be leaking out of me by the next day.
“Hold it.” Is the first thing he says when he finishes emptying himself. We both come down from it, making me clench weakly around him again. “Like a fucking glove, baby."
He finally pulls out and leans down. He spreads my glistening lips apart, vulgarly displaying my inner most parts as his elixir leaks out of me. His mind goes wild at the thought of how much of him is still left inside of me, muddying my womb. He was fixated on marking every inch of me. Inside and out.
I feel his tongue dip inside of me to collect some of what he left behind. He climbs back up my body before kissing me and depositing it into my mouth. I moan and arch my back off the bed while swallowing what he gave me.
He presses his forehead to mine and sighs,
"You have no idea what you've done."

☕️batfam (not each character, but your opinion of them as a family both in canon vs. canon)
I think the version of them that you see in things like WFA and a lot of fandom stuff is delightful and entertaining. Don't get me wrong - a lot of the fandom stuff is also wildly wrong and infuriating. But there are writers who do a great job with a more fannish take on the Batfamily and I enjoy their work. (It is usually...painfully obvious who has actually read the comics and who only knows the Batfam via tumblr posts.)
The Batfamily in mainstream continuity is...not that. The characters are significantly more traumatized and rarely joke around with each other. They're also not a unit in the same way. They almost never do anything together out of costume. They don't have a joint baseline relationship of "family" - each pair of characters has a unique relationship. Like, Dick and Damian are close, Tim and Damian have a very rocky history, and Jason and Damian have honestly just not interacted that much? (Hilariously, Jason literally shot Damian early on and Damian doesn't appear to hold a grudge, while you know Tim is still mad about the dinosaur thing.) Damian has a specific relationship with Steph. Tim has a specific (and close!) relationship with Babs. (He used to just...hang out in the Watchtower! Being nerds together!) Duke and Cass are close, which of course is largely ignored by fandom. Etc.
I think the fact that the canon relationships are fraught and in some cases either really volatile or nonexistent is potentially really interesting. Like, I would love to see a story that puts Jason and Tim on a mission together and really digs into that dynamic, or Tim and Damian. (Or my dream story, one where Tim feels Some Kind Of Way about how he used to be Dick's favorite but now Damian very clearly is. (This is not how Dick sees it at all, for the record. Tim is his little brother! But Damian is his baby. It's different.))
Or look at the Robins' current relationships with Bruce: Dick is the closest with him but also accepts and absorbs much of Bruce's bad behavior without question. Bruce and Jason cannot be around each other for more than 30 minutes without dragging up every wound they've inflicted on each other over the years. Tim is desperate to fix Bruce to a degree that's actively unhealthy for Tim. Bruce functionally ignores Steph's entire existence and she seems to have wisely made her peace with that. And Damian is desperate for the unconditional love Bruce seems incapable of giving and mad at himself for it.
I don't actually want to change that. I find it fascinating. I'm not opposed to stories about the kids healing some of that damage, but I don't particularly want it to be via their relationships with Bruce. I'd like to see it happen via their relationships with each other. (That one story where Dick was like "Tim you will never fix Bruce, PLEASE stop trying" and Bruce was like "Lol he's right" was SO good. And then the writing on Tim went catastrophically off the rails but we're not talking about that right now.)
Anyway I think I've gotten a little far afield of your original question, but basically: I like (the good takes on) the fanon Batfam, but I also think the canon Batfam is really interesting. I don't think the two should be conflated (which is what DC does when they try to give us fluffy interactions that haven't been earned, Tom Taylor). And I don't think anyone is wrong for preferring either a more lighthearted take or a more fraught, canon-compliant take. The asshole behavior comes in when you refuse to accept other people's preferences.
(But also, if you are looking for an actually loving and healthy canon family that has playful interactions, you want the Flashes or the Arrows.)

Genuine question, do you call Oz's (or Salems) circle a cult based on the ancient definition (i.e. cult of dionysus) or the modern definition of cult with the BITE model (i.e. Scientology, Manson family, etc)? And can you go into why you think they're cults, if that's okay? I'm very curious :>
generally speaking when i say cult i mean it in the non-pejorative sense of a system of religious veneration toward a particular entity, e.g. salem and ozma received cult as god-rulers back in the day. aside from. tyrian. i wouldn’t characterize salem’s present day operation as a cult because it’s Unclear to me whether the others actually worship her in any sense beyond like smiling and nodding when tyrian starts going on about Our Divine Savior. similarly ozpin’s inner circle is not a cult of him, it’s a cult of light.
In This Sense what makes ozpin’s circle a cult is the explicitly religious nature of the group. which is something a lot of the fandom overlooks because a) rwby is cooking the religious narrative very slowly and b) religion is not taken seriously as character motivation. but like, when qrow brings team RNJR into the loop he leads with "not many people are super religious these days and there’s a lot of Fake Made-Up Gods but ozpin says there’s two who Really Exist. they made us and they left behind four divine relics for us to guard from The Enemy." & it’s not an accident that he frames the situation in these terms, not is it accidental that oz presents himself as someone cursed (ordained) by the gods to stop salem. the organizing principle at the heart of this group is religious in nature—the gods entrusted us with these divine relics we must guard whilst we shepherd humanity toward redemption.
*teams RWBY and JNPR aren’t brought into that second part before ruby explodes ozpin’s whole situation by asking jinn her question, but in fairytales of remnant the story of the two brothers is attributed to qrow and overtly states the divine ultimatum:
“I disagree,” the God of Light said. “And we promised to share in the fate of our joint creation.” He gave a mighty yawn. “Let us rest, and when the time comes, we will see what Humanity has become in our absence. At that point, we will judge them. If they are worthy, we will take their forms and walk among them as equals. If not, we will take back our gifts and start over elsewhere. What do you say?” “Who will decide whether they are worthy?” the God of Darkness said. “Humanity will make it plain. If they come together in unity and find a way to destroy the evil in the world and within themselves, then they are worthy. If not … we will let them burn,” the God of Light said.
which ozpin reiterates in the commentary:
Whether or not you believe in the Brothers, or in this story in particular, the underlying message still holds value: We are burdened with responsibility for our world, and we share a common destiny. Like the twin gods, we are intricately connected with one another, and if we can learn to work and live together, we can create things greater than the sum of their parts. Remnant survived the Great War, but while the four kingdoms now cooperate and coexist, our bond seems tenuous. We have a fragile peace, and in some ways, we are more divided than ever. Even if the gods aren’t real, even if they don’t return to judge us for our deeds, we should act each day as though they are arriving tomorrow. In the end, we will be the arbiters of our fates. We will either create a beautiful, peaceful world and live in harmony together or destroy ourselves and our planet, and the gods will judge what we have chosen.
what this tells us is that a) ozpin’s innermost circle knows that the brothers will some day return for the final judgment and that ozpin is working to prepare for this, and b) the idea of the final judgment itself is not something ozma has kept secret, it’s mainstream brother-cult doctrine that ozpin publicly uses his platform as the headmaster of beacon academy to proselytize. the reason none of the kids reacted at all to the divine mandate/the final judgment is they already knew about it in the same way you’re probably familiar with the rapture in basic terms even if you aren’t a christian.
based on the fairytale anthology, i would also argue that all of this is true not only of the inner circle but of the academies writ large, because in the introduction:
When I became headmaster of Beacon Academy, one of my first goals was to introduce a deeper study of the stories that make up the fabric of our world—after all, I am first and foremost a teacher. […] It may seem self-serving to place this book at the core of a new curriculum at the Huntsmen academies; however, it also has been compiled with these academies especially in mind.
ozpin indicates that once he became headmaster he published this set of stories and commentaries and then made it the CORE of a new curriculum for the four academies; and fairytales of remnant is, again, an overtly religious text that exhorts the reader to believe in and act upon brother-cult doctrine. imagine an anthology of stories that included a hodgepodge of aesop’s fables, grimm fairytales, a couple greek myths, and a synopsis of the gospel with a commentary urging you to accept jesus into your heart. that’s what fairytales of remnant is, in essence, and the whole curriculum of the academies is structured around that. these institutions front as secular but they’re not.
(two brothers is also not the only story in the anthology that references the final judgment: the ‘circle’ depicted in the infinite man is explicitly working to “make ready for the final judgment” before they’re put to the sword by adversaries who presumably didn’t like the sound of that. so ozma’s been doing this with varying degrees of subtlety for a good long while.)
ALL THAT SAID,
ozpin’s inner circle is absolutely also a high-control group (which is what people typically mean when they say "cult"). let’s walk through the BITE model real quick ->
behavioral control.
in reality this dimension involves various practices e.g. sleep deprivation, corporal punishment, social isolation, financial control that serve to establish and maintain direct power over group members such that they become physically and/or psychologically dependent on the group and therefore unable to leave. within the world of rwby and the specific context of ozpin’s inner circle, this is Not Necessary because all ozpin has to do is invoke the dangers of mass hysteria and the grimm. we mustn’t cause a panic or the grimm will come and there will be chaos and the world will go to war.
combine this constant drumbeat (“old ozpin would always put his foot down. ‘we can't cause a panic.’ heh, can't tell you how many times i’ve heard that…”) with the reality that huntsmen work is grueling in and of itself, and that we know from 9.10 that ozpin made it a regular practice to call individual members of team STRQ away on hush-hush urgent missions with no advance warning in the middle of the night. on its own, that isn’t inherently problematic (hunting monsters is a dangerous and difficult profession, duh)
but think about what it says about how ozpin operates that working for him means being on call at all hours for top secret dead-of-night emergencies that regularly turned out to just be “routine patrols.” this speaks to his paranoia but—do you want a group of people who are permanently stressed-out and exhausted? this is how you get that, by refusing to stay organized and just set up a schedule for routine patrols such that emergency becomes routine. if nothing else this is a horrible working environment. and this sort of thing is what the dimension of behavioral control is really about, because people who are stressed out and tired all the time are more susceptible to disinformation and manipulation.
the final piece is the inner circle’s perception of ozpin as the one who must guide them because, as glynda tells ironwood, he “has experience the rest of [them] lack.” again, taken in isolation this seems innocuous until to you consider that a) ozpin does not have the experience he claims to posses—he hasn’t been fighting salem for any significant length of time because salem has been Ignoring Him—and b) ozpin does things like LEAPING to the conclusion that lionheart is a traitor on the grounds of the mistral council overruling him, and getting first verbally forceful and then physically violent when the girls start to defy him. what first appears as ozpin taking the lead because he has the most experience turns into, well, lunging at ruby because she disobeyed him
✅ sleep deprivation + fostering an artificially high-stress environment ✅ encouraging groupthink ("we can’t cause panic") ✅ cultivating dependence on the group leader ✅ threats of punishment/dire consequences for failure (the grimm) used to guide behavior
information control.
this dimension. doesn’t need elaborating. lol
✅ deception (in all forms: withholding information, distorting the facts, & systematic lies) ✅ restricting access to unsanctioned sources of information (by keeping everyone too busy to investigate or ask questions, on this see also the way oz frames raven’s decision to leave) ✅ compartmentalization of information (information is heavily controlled, different levels of information provided at different levels of commitment to the group, "we can fill you in on the details once we know you’re with us," ozpin decides who needs to know and when) ✅ encourage spying/monitoring within the group (qrow accuses ironwood of "turning his back on oz," winter + ironwood accuse him of being compromised, summer and raven both feeling isolated/unable to trust others in the group, general high levels of distrust between group members)
thought control.
also very straightforward.
✅ instill black and white, us vs them thinking (specifically, "it’s us protecting the Helpless Frightened Masses against them," and reducing every problem to "we can’t let salem divide us" and "how can we kill all these grimm"—contrast how robyn operates, the difference is staggering) ✅ thought-stopping platitudes ("we can’t cause a panic" and "i always prefer discretion" and "we can’t let salem divide us" etc, with the latter note how rwby delivers the "you’re being divisive" rhetoric through jacques first, specifically to illustrate its efficacy as a tool of control) ✅ allowing only correct / good thoughts (because if negativity then salem wins!) ✅ rejection of critical thinking or constructive criticism (this happens every time someone is informed of the first layer of truth and starts asking why it’s secret; inculcating the group rationalizations to shut down this questioning is always step one) ✅ prohibiting questioning of the group leader (in the most extreme example, ozpin lunges at ruby to stop her from using the lamp, but see also his anger when the kids don’t stop questioning his choices) ✅ other belief systems labeled as illegitimate (the brothers are the only True Gods and other religions that exist don’t count except when we use them to justify keeping secrets) or evil (salem’s rejection of the gods is construed as a desire for the world to end, in some cases overtly, and this is explicitly manipulative)
& emotional control.
the grimm do most of the real legwork here. i won’t go into the Whole Thing on how the huntsman model is an, at best, incomplete understanding of the grimm but suffice it to say repressing feelings is, demonstrably, Not Effective at warding away the grimm and small villages outside the kingdoms with no huntsmen protection are demonstrably capable of dealing with grimm outside of extreme situations (bandit raids, giants like the nuckelavee) where huntsmen would be outgunned too. which i want to emphasize because the extremely dysfunctional way ozpin’s inner circle views negative emotions is NOT practical or necessary within the context of the setting, and in fact is arguably counterproductive to the stated goal of minimizing grimm attacks.
anyways,
✅ manipulate and narrow the range of acceptable feelings (all "negative emotion" is undesirable and actively shamed) ✅ inculcate guilt or feelings of inadequacy (in leaders specifically: "if you are not always performing at your absolute best, what reason do you give others to follow you?" + the condemnation of raven and general attitude of "there’s no shame or disgrace in abstaining, only in retreat") ✅ instilling fear of thinking independently (we see the consequences of this play out in v7-9, with the incredible anxiety over disagreement) and of the outside world (grimm, constant drumbeat of inescapable existential danger which can ONLY be avoided by keeping secrets and keeping the general public complacent) ✅ specifically inculcating intense fear of leaving the group (by ostracizing those who leave [raven] and cultivating the mindset that there is never an acceptable reason to leave [it is disgraceful and shameful to retreat, leaving is "abandoning your training/duties"], plus terrible consequences if someone leaves [without the spring maiden we’re all going to die]; with ironwood this escalates to him going to extreme, violent lengths to get penny back under control and punish winter for defying him)
note how:
many of these behaviors continue and/or escalate after ozpin’s death, because the members of the inner circle continue to follow the example he set and because the kids (ruby n yang especially, having been raised from birth by members of the inner circle) were inculcated with the foundational mindset and beliefs in academies that the inner circle a) controls and b) uses as a recruiting ground; and
since v6, the narrative has been developing character arcs that examine the Many Ways this system traumatizes and breaks people. this is of course exacerbated by the fact of the apocalyptic war happening, but the broken old guard—team STRQ, ironwood, ozpin himself, gretchen rainart—are there to make the point that the inner circle was breaking and traumatizing people long before salem went to war. so the abundance of these high-control methods exists in conjunction with the narrative focusing on how harmful and destructive all of it is; the inner circle is intended to be understood as deeply dysfunctional, and the huntsmen academies as failing institutions doomed by the inner circle’s beliefs and methodology.
so whether the Specific Authorial Intention is to depict a high-control group/cult, in the more general sense the inner circle is overtly meant to be Bad News. things like the sinister framing with pyrrha in v3, ozpin physically attacking ruby when she used the lamp, the throughline from things ozpin teaches ruby in v1 to her breakdown in v9, the whole Situation with summer and raven in the past, etc, all of this weaves together to paint a very fucked up picture of how the inner circle functions and the ripples of harm it causes.

Looking at this year's tour and how everyone is , I think last year was a necessary evil.
They've clearly had some very deep and very long conversations and came out of it closer than ever.
Everyone is just in such good moods. Non stop interactions between all of them, you can just see and feel pure comfort and love they exude for each other and for what they do.
Yes, the band seems to have survived the whole allegations situation (even though especially in Germany it's not completely gone, but it certainly doesn't have the impact anymore that it had last year), and very much in a "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"kind of way.
Rammstein's reputation with German media was never great, and secretly i had hoped in 2022 that with their 30 year anniversary approaching they would get some positive attention in mainstream media, but maybe that was never going to happen anyway, and well...let's forget about that..
The vibe this year seems very much like in post-covid 2022 when everyone was visibly glad to be able to get on stage again and play; and maybe even a little bit better, because now Till also seems to have become closer again with the others, and not just in 'his own bubble' as Schneider put it. I think some things have changed behind the scenes, issues discussed, different opinions worked through, and I also think this year they prepared a lot better for the tour (let's face it, 2023 was a different vibe even from the very first rehearsal, when we didn't even know what was to come a few days later).
My feeling is that the good and more relaxed mood that we saw in 2019 and 2022 (maybe even 2018, from what we saw of Untitled) and the band already being more at ease with eachother, helped in dealing with 2023. If their relationship had been like it was in the Mutter era they might have easily called it quits. On the other hand, nothing can pull a team together as having a joint threat, and i'm sure they felt that threat in 2023, and realised how much they had to loose as a band, how much they had to fight for in their early years, coming out of a country that ceased to exist and trying to find their way in a new country that wasn't their own.
It would be very interesting to have the guys do an interview or a follow up of 'Rammstein in Amerika' on how the last 5-10 years have been to them and how things have changed through various reasons. There is very little that has been shared, which always makes us look back at old interviews, but more and more i feel these do not apply anymore to how they are now as a band
.I'm not sure if we'll ever get an update on it, but i hope maybe one day....🌺

A joint statement from @polyamorouspunk and @safety-pin-punk- this is NOT a divorce kids, it’s just setting some bOuNdArIeS
Dear Punks,
We are gathered here today to talk about a shared view of the punk culture specifically in the tumblr bubble that we share between ourselves and also with so many of you.
To be frank, we get a lot of asks, which is a joy for both of us, and we love answering your questions with our opinions, other’s opinions, bouncing things off each other and our other mutuals, and directing you to anything that you might find helpful in your inquires. However, we get a LOT of asks specifically asking for permission or “Is it okay if I…”, and we really want to stress a point here:
Asking what you can and cannot do to be considered “punk” goes against being punk.
We get so many questions asking “will I be considered a poser if” and the best answer we can give you is: whatever your question is, the answer is PROBABLY going to be ”no, you wont be considered a poser”, BUT, asking if you’re going to be a poser if you do ‘xyz’ thing is gonna be what makes you look like a poser. Part of being a punk is deciding what’s right for YOU. It’s going AGAINST the grain. If you are ASKING what is acceptable, you are not ACTING in a punk manner. Punk isn’t about doing what someone says is okay, its about doing what you think is right.
Not only that, but it is very draining on both of us to receive numerous asks like this. As much as we want to answer every ask that comes our way because we genuinely WANT to help, for people to ask us questions, and to come to us for advice, when there’s a buildup in our inbox of questions asking for permission, one after another, they can be really draining. (And honestly, with how often we get asks about being a poser, the term feels very overused and watered down to the both of us). (We are taking the term poser away and putting it on the tall shelf kids).
Key loves getting asks about punk history and culture, and Punk loves getting asks about DIY tips, what’s worked for them, and both of us love talking music. In fact, we both listen to non-punk genres quite a lot as well, such as metalcore and pop rock. So, yes, we’re both team “You don’t need to listen to punk music to be punk”. But like with everything else, there’s a level of subtext in that statement. There are so many different genres of punk music. There are also so many different genres of alternative music in general. When the two of us say “You don’t need to listen to punk music”, we are not talking about the people who listen to music that explicitly goes against punk values. And we would hope that if you are existing in punk spaces online, that you can reason your way to understanding that without us having to explain it every time it gets brought up.
And that goes for more than just that specific idea, there’s a lot of things we say that should be taken with nuance and your own critical thinking skills should be applied to. And on top of that, its also important to remember that we ALL come from different backgrounds and have different life experiences that have shaped our views and opinions. Because of this, we would also like to point out that you should not be asking us questions that involve us being your moral compass. Asking for opinions is one thing, but asking for what right and wrong is another.
There are punks out there who we’re both mutuals with who have differentiating opinions on topics, like whether or not punk is a music-based or political subculture at heart. Us having differing opinions than some of our mutuals doesn’t mean that us or them are less punk than each other. Since part of being punk is about thinking for yourself and going against what the mainstream and the masses think, then it makes sense that we don’t all agree on the smaller details. When it comes down to the real big problems, on topics like fascism, or bodily autonomy, or queer rights, etc., that’s what really matters.
We’re not the perfect role models for punk culture. We’re messy, flawed, human beings like everyone else. We like problematic things. We say shit that doesn’t always come across the right way. We can get irked easily from things on tumblr, either by asks we get or posts we see. We’re more than just our blogs. We have whole other lives outside of our punk worlds. We have different styles of fashion, different music tastes, etc. We do not live and breathe being 100% the perfect punk 24/7, but we try our best to make a difference where we can.
We genuinely enjoy being part of this community, but we also reserve the right to not answer asks that make us uncomfortable in any way, even if they come from a place of genuine desire to do what’s right. And again, we both do genuinely enjoy questions that ask for our opinions on topics, but asking for our opinions is a LOT different than asking for permission, which is something that we’ve both said a few times, but we feel like might not be reaching everyone who is thinking about sending in an ask like that. We thank you for taking the time to read this, and hope that our friends and followers understand where we are coming from and respect our wishes and boundaries on these matters, and hope you choose to continue along with us on both our individual and joint content.

Day 1
Album: Licensed to Ill by the Beastie Boys
Have I listened to before? No, but I have heard short clips of "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" and "Brass Monkey"
Familiarity with the artist: only tangentially, my dad is a fan and i've probably heard a few songs in passing but i don't think i've ever sat down and listened to one. of course i've seen the memes about the Beastie Boys tho lol
Background Knowledge:
Beastie Boys debut album, released November 15th 1986 and became the first rap LP to top the Billboard album chart.
acclaimed for unique musical style, chemistry between the group members, and their stylized rapping
ranked as one of the greatest hip hop debut albums of all time
Interesting Info:
the group originally wanted the album title to be Don't Be A Faggot but was rejected by the label for being too homophobic (omfg??!!)
Kerry King of Slayer plays lead guitar on "Fight for Your Right" and "No Sleep Till Brooklyn"
originally recorded a loose cover of The Beatles "I'm Down" which sampled the original song, but it was pulled at the last minute due to legal disputes with Michael Jackson, who owned the Beatles catalog at the time
the full album cover, front to back, features an American Airlines Boeing 727 with a Beastie Boys logo on its tail, which has crashed head-on into the side of a mountain, the former taking the shape of an extinguished marijuana joint
Listened on: Apple Music
General Notes:
rough and raw sound, almost like they’re right there in the room with you, but also very well-produced
interesting way to combine the aesthetics of punk/rock (rock instruments and a more shouted vocal delivery) with hip-hop
i really like the call and response between the different members and how they emphasize certain syllables in the lines by having the other members interject along with the lead
almost?? a parody of classic rap but not quite…a lot of the rhymes are really funny and their delivery is just short of being too over the top to be taken seriously imo- but I guess it makes sense when their first hip-hop single was satirical itself
why do they keep referencing White Castle lmao
always something to be said when a white artist or group releases music in a traditionally black genre/style and the white artist is who finally brings that genre into mainstream media and acclaim. i saw a quote on their wikipedia that called The Beastie Boys "the Elvis of hip-hop" and i think that's an accurate assessment, although not necessarily a bad thing in itself. it's clear from the way the album is produced and the intelligent sampling that they know what they're doing and are knowledgeable of black hip-hop artists that they were obviously influenced by, along with their own previous experience with punk and rock. could we call combining hip-hop aesthetics with punk and rock a sanitization of black hip-hop in the same way many are critical of early white rock n roll artists? i'm not sure, especially because rock is itself a traditionally black genre, even if it has been taken over in the wider cultural imagination by white men. in my mind, this kind of sound is more of a subset of the larger hip-hop genre as a whole, but i think i need to do more research into The Beastie Boys and refresh my memory on classic hip-hop before i make any definitive conclusions
Favorite Tracks: Rhymin’ & Stealin’, Posse In Effect, Fight for Your Right, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Brass Monkey
Final Review: an interesting album in a larger cultural sense but not really my personal taste. still was really interesting though, and I'm glad i got around to listening to it!

(This is not a normal thing, I'm just crazy, you don't have to answer) I know this is your personal and general blog but I want to ask you. I'm all for body neutrality (or I was before?) but once I learned that (the general population's) worsening shrimp posture leads to all kinds of problems, incl weight gain which is becoming a more widespread problem esp because of lowered physical activity, doesn't body neutrality (as in, "I won't even try learning anything about the reasons of the weight gain, whatever happens happens, being fat is ok" so ignoring the round back and head moved forward from the normal position, and everything else, not exercising and not correcting the habits such as phone addicton and sitting incorrectly) sound so, idk, neglectful of yourself? Just a heads up to repliers if this gets answered, I'm not fatphobic, fat people can be healthy if they actually exercise and have functional muscles and joints, and a lot of skinny people are unhealthy too bc they do not have a proper well-moving body. And that it's good to have both muscle and fat, not only one or the other. Meaning a big part of the population is unhealthy, and both body positivity and body neutrality are normalising this. And on that note, children already being phone addicts, I am afraid to find out with what kind of spine they'll grow up with.
it's more of a response to the two mainstream ideas about bodies which sound to a lot of people like "you need to look a certain way to be beautiful!" and "you are beautiful no matter what you look like".
body neutrality is not a movement of "oh well, this is just how my body is. i'm not doing anything to change that." body neutrality is seeing these ideas and saying that you don't need to love OR hate your body, especially not based on aesthetics. what matters is that you care of it so it functions well.
so i don't think that concern is well founded in regards to body neutrality

FAFO applied to the carnivore diet community
I want to make an observation about MAGA + carnivore diet in these trying times. Stay with me.
Very briefly, the carnivore diet is an elimination diet: you eat just meat for 90 days, after which you slowly start reintroducing foods, one at a time, back into your diet and gauging your body's reaction.
Some people find that after this purification they can still eat most of everything without getting symptoms, some find they are intolerant/allergic to some of the foods everybody's typically allergic to (peanuts, dairy, gluten, etc). Some find they're allergic to everything but meat and these are usually autoimmune patients, meaning they have a leaky gut which translates to lots and lots of food allergies. Some people who found they can eat whatever nonetheless stick to eating carnivore regardless because they just feel better this way.
Carnivore displeases mainstream medicine that still labours under the delusion created by bad and corrupt science that diet is irrelevant to your overall health, or that for health purposes you can never be too vegetarian. And carnivores are typically accused of being right-wing conspiracy believing ignoramuses, when in reality most are elderly people who only late in life arrived at this way of eating after decades of obediently listening to their doctors and following the dietary guidelines... with disastrous consequences to their health. They're not eating meat because Trump says so - Trump eats and drinks sugar all day long and all you have to do is look at him to know that this is true. They eat meat because it heals.
End preamble.
Having said that, it is very true that carnivore has formed an association with fascists like Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson, much like vegetarianism is associated with Socialism and "soy boys" and eco warriors. Most carnivores don't wear either their politics or religion on their sleeve at all, but those who do never identify as, say, Muslim or left-wing, they're always right-wing and Christian.
And yet the paradox is you will never find a more radically anti-consumerist, minimalist, anti-capitalist move than going full carnivore. I know it's never going to happen but in theory if everyone became a carnivore it would be a complete and unmitigated disaster for the world's economy. Think of all those crops and plants that would suddenly become pointless for anything other than feeding them to farm animals. A hamburger joint like MacDonald's, whose food offer is actually 90% plants and a sliver of meat, would be screwed. Add to that the fact that most carnivores practice OMAD (one meal a day) and fast the rest of the time and eat their one meal mostly at home and every restaurant is closed, every supermarket too.
Even if the transition from an omnivore, plant-based diet to a carnivore diet took place very gradually it would still mean that entire food empires that are dependent on stuffing you with seed oils, gluten and sugar every couple of hours would collapse. All those billionaires would go broke.
If the transition took place carefully it'd be brilliant for the world's health - but the food industry that makes you sick and the medical and pharmacological industry that depend on the money they make from unsuccessfully treating you for preventable diseases would lose an immense fortune, forever.
Which brings me to my point: MAGA guys, I know you. I know you wish the food pyramid were turned upside down. For years I've been hearing you decry the ignorance of doctors and the criminal greed of Big Pharma. I agree, it's bad. And I know, even though youtube won't let you say it and you only say it on Rumble, that you think Covid was created by a bat in a Chinese lab and was transmitted to people through vaccines. You're challenged.
And now you believe it's great that Trump has appointed Robert Kennedy Jr. to be his health secretary, because he's a psychopath who drove his ex-wife to commit suicide and because he's an antivaxxer - just like you. All the while you pointedly ignore that Trump also picked up Dr. Oz, famous plant-based diet guru who made Oprah fatter and sicker than ever.
But I know none of these appointments mean anything. Trump only follows the money, not some sort of higher calling to serve the people. So I know that whatever happens in the future will not be determined by these guys...
... but rather by whatever the money people, i.e. Big Pharma, mainstream medicine and the food industry, have to say on the matter.
For instance, it is possible that Big Pharma will allow Trump to get rid of vaccines. But only if they do the math and conclude that the money they lose by not selling those vaccines they'll more than make up by "taking care" of the sick. If that doesn't add up then Trump/Kennedy won't be allowed by that super powerful mega-billionaire industry to do a goddamn thing.
Prepare to see during the next years ahead the official guidelines change from telling kids to eat more fruit like Michelle Obama wanted (which is no good) to eating breakfast cereal every five seconds (which is worse).
You know I'm right.
I would agree that it's true enough that you wouldn't be any closer to your carnivore dreams if you had voted for Kamala instead. I don't even know what her diet is, except that she doesn't stuff herself every five minutes like Trump does, nor has she ever raped anyone. But at least your kids would still have Obamacare aka ACA - which should really have mattered to doctors in the carnivore sphere, who instead remained silent and did not use their platform to warn their viewers; and your kids would not be in danger of dying from the measles and other diseases preventable by vaccines. And under Kamala you would still be allowed to stuff them all you like with stakes.
But you couldn't suffer to have a woman of colour as your president. It all boils down to that. So you fucked around and now you're going to find out. I don't feel sorry for you but I do feel sorry for your victims.

GAH LONG POST..
xingqiu and chongyun have insanely good potential for angst my god. xingqiu in particular is so fun to think about in the context of chongyun. what do YOU know about chivalry boy
thinking about how he and hu tao kinda operate on similar notions of justice and all that shmick except hu tao is more strictly averse to disrupting the Natural Order (incredibly vague and generalized concept rn sorry) whilst xingqiu sets his principles more arbitrarily. chongyun's presence somehow foils a lot of his notable character traits. gestures hands vaguely in the air but sth sth hu tao would not approve of xq's moral infractions
perhaps im just reading too deep into this but shrugs ill admit something's changed in Me the last 2 years and coming back to xq and cy has me like. scratches head now hold on im not entirely sure if i even like the way xq treats cy. its kinda one of the main points of their dynamic- the whole.. pranking this oblivious guy who i really adore etc. but its deeper implications leave me a little unsatisfied and a little troubled (?).. in the long run i personally dont really see anything substantially appealing about their (leaning towards romantic in this context) relationship other than like ?? the tropes that mhy imposed upon them. they were created as a compatible Duo ykwim. they reference each other a lot in their lore and even in-game but.. idk maybe i just view them separately instead of a joint unit that anaylzing them individually revealed a lot of crevices and cracks in their ship that's built upon their mainstream appeal
but anyway i've thought a lot about them as a duo and is it nuts to say i like them as a romantic ship but if they were unrequited. i can see them working out but it necessitates a complete subversion and reconstruction of xingqiu (chara development basically LOL) on my part that i would totally invest myself in but im not entirely sure how to execute it
i like xingqiu a LOT as a flawed character. i wouldnt go as far as to say hes toxic, just very conflicted and insecure. hes a fun character to think about. re: the hu tao bit i mentioned above, i think they would have a really fun, witty, and transformative friendship
but anyway. yes i like xq and i still like xy. theyre just a bit more complicated now aha. im still capable of enjoying fluffy ship dynamics but lately ive been in a Character Study Mood ... mmm.. ive yet to organize my chongming thoughts

Hello, would it be ok to use a walking stick/cane or is it not ok? I’d be a part time stick user and it would be used as 1/3 fashion accessory, like how people in 1800 England had sticks, 1/3 hiking stick/pole, and 1/3 part time aid for weight bearing.
for context on the aid part i have flatfoot and overpronation that causes pain in my heel and legs. I do have inserts that help enough and i do stretches and that helps too but I still have (sort of mild?) pain flare ups from time to time that can make me limp.
I’m asking because I don’t want to be ignorant towards ppl who use canes for a disability and I don’t want to come off that way… and I also think walking sticks are cool.
Hm.
This is a bit of a sticky subject.
There's some discourse about this that resurfaces every so often. Half of the argument is "using a cane for fashion/aesthetic purposes invalidates disabled people who actually need to use them" and the other half is "using a cane for fashion/aesthetic purposes might make them more mainstream and therefore accessible in the long run". I'm somewhere in the middle.
Canes are cool, I love mine dearly and I get incredibly excited when I see someone else out and about with one. It helps me feel better about using one, and that is something I have seen other people say as well. I also know that, historically, they have been and still kind of are popular accessories.
But, I have had people assume my cane and its predecessor were just accessories and I haven't been taken seriously because of it. A lot of people also treat them as disposable toys rather than an extension of their user, and I do worry that that attitude might only grow worse if they're seen as being "aesthetic" rather than a tool that many people physically cannot move without.
Also, using a cane when you might not need it, and without taking the proper time to research how to use one, can really damage your body in the long run. And while some canes are designed to be more weight-bearing than others, they're really more of a tool to be used for stability and relieving pressure on painful joints/muscles.
That being said, from a pain standpoint, if you believe it could help your flare ups, then a cane may certainly be something to look into. That is what they are designed for, after all. Just, again, make sure you look into how to use it properly, and maybe try and consult a doctor or a physiotherapist about it.
The fact you're taking the time to ask these questions instead of just plunging in shows me that you are being genuine when you say you don't want to come across as "ignorant", so thank you for being respectful, anon.
Have a good day/evening!
