can you believe it started with din djarin taking a job to get a high value target and being lumbered with a special baby he had no idea what to do with it and tried to give him away to living in a cabin on the planet he took him too with his newly adopted son to live in peace, harmony, and sunshine?

The final TF2 issue really got to me. Spoilers, but it’s the reveal that all of this suffering and murder and war over gravel and shitty land was for nothing but senseless, bottomless hatred. That the administrator can’t even remember where this revenge plot started as she flashes through different false memories of her parents’ deaths. There was never a tragic backstory or justification, only terrible people doing despicable things. And despite how crass and stupid and unserious TF2 is, the story subverts every expectation by showing the survivors and inheritors willingly breaking the cycle. Ms. Pauling lies to the administrator and chooses not to save her, and finally lets her die. (Hurts even more if you read into the subtext that Ms. Pauling is in love with the administrator.) She lets the final cache of Australium go and walks away from the burden and legacy of a century-old bloodfeud. Hale lets Gray’s daughter go and live her life freely. Spy is the first to arrive at Scout’s house and meet his big family, finally takes off his mask, and helps with the kids. Even Merasmus exhaustedly makes peace with himself and Soldier and chooses not to curse him or something. There’s nothing to finish, no promises to keep, and no one to avenge. The only thing to do is break the cycle and walk away.
It feels odd how happy and warm everything is, but it feels so right and earned. These bloodthirsty, awful, violent men were expendable cogs in a machine of endless violence, and they found a way out. It’s a genuinely great message about letting go the past that burdens you and finding the will and a way to hit the bricks, change, and be happy. Maybe they don’t technically deserve happiness, but they’ve got it nonetheless, and they’re not gonna let it go to waste. They’re still all crazy and violent, but on their own terms now and with people who love them! Smiles.

Wow I sure do love the Arcane ending where Viktor and Jayce reset the universe to be identical to the No Hextech universe, except Vi gets to be alive and the main characters keeps their memories but none of the trauma, and Viktor, Jayce, and Mel get to have a big poly steampunk wedding. My favorite part was when Caitlyn caught the bouquet and Vander and Silco immediately started bickering about how Vi should propose, while Jinx begins teasing her sister. I also liked the part where Ekko and Jinx became Art/Science double majors and everyone was happy

2/2
#“better late than never!” ahh post#this quote reminded me of ren's thought process during 2/2. its not supposed to reflect the canon dialogue. rather his internal monologue#had to adjust it a little to fit the context tho#anyway yea im clocking out happy shuake divorce day everyone#the fact that any reality where ren and akechi meet is always destined to end with akechi dying is so fucked up#persona 5 royal#persona 5#shuake#akeshu#goro akechi#ren amamiya#akira kurusu#lotus draws#something about akechi’s death always being a sacrifice…..its always so intriguing to me#like despite the fact that he embraces his identity as an assassin so thoroughly and even thinks virtue and righteousness is blithe#he still performs the most selfless act of all when he’s backed into a corner knowing he will lose#this could be read as a) he would rather go out on his own terms and die making a statement where he actively chooses to sacrifice his life#knowing that the enemy could never kill him in a way that matters bc he has never had an ounce of control his entire life#and for once at least he demands control over his death. if nothing else in his miserable life where everything was predetermined#OR b) deep down inside he still remembers the child he used to be who would idolize heroes and their justice#he may have been a villain his entire life but in that moment when he knows he’s doomed he’d rather let the “heroes” get the upper hand#by buying them time with his death. at least in one way he was able to live up the the childlike fantasy he so cherished#anyway yea auughh akechi….truly made to fuck me up

I think that one thing people fail to understand is that unsolicited literary criticism coming from an online stranger who is reading with no knowledge of what the authors intended goal is, is not going to be received the same as say: the authors beta reader or friends who know what the authors intended goal and has the sufficient knowledge and input to help the author reach that desired outcome.
"But I'm only trying to be helpful" How do I know you have the knowledge and literary skill for you to be able to actaully do that when we don't know each other and you are essentially a stranger to me? Are you applying this criticism based out of personal biased experience and desire to see the story or characterization be driven in another direction or tweaked, or do you know the author's intentions for the character? If the story is incomplete, are you basing your criticism of a character on the incomplete narration with only partial information available of them or are you building up a report until the story's completion? Did the author provide you with the information needed to make a fully informed criticism?
Have you discussed with the author what their plans are or are you assuming them based off the narration, especially if the narration is proven or implied to be unreliable or missing key points of the plot? Are you unbiased enough to help them reach their desired outcome for the characters and story regardless of your personal feelings towards the characters/antagonists and setting? Can you handle being told your specific input isn't wanted because you're a reader and/or have no written anything relating to their genre or topic? Do you understand and respect that the author's personal experiences might influence their writing and make it different than how you would have done it personally? Do you understand if an author only wants input from a specific demographic relating to their story?
If it's for fanfiction or other hobby media, are you holding a free hobby to a professional standard? Are you trying to give criticism because you feel like the author has produced 'subpar job performance' of their fic? Are you viewing their work as a personal intimate outlet or something that must conform with mass media? Are you applying rules and guidelines when the fic is shared for simple sharing sake? Is your criticism worded appropriately and focused on the parts where the author has requested input on rather than a general dismissal and or disapproval?
Have you put yourself in a place where you assumed you have the input needed for the story to evolve better, or have you asked what the author needs and what they're having trouble with? Can you handle having your criticism rejected if the author decides their story doesn't need the change and not take it as a personal offense against your character? Are you crossing that boundary because you think you are doing the author a favor? Are you trying to be helpful, or do you just want to be?
I think sometimes when people hear authors go 'please don't give me unsolicited writing advice or criticism' they automatically chalk it up to 'this author doesn't want ANY constructive feedback on their stuff at all' and not "i already have trusted individuals who will help me with my writing goals and- hey i don't know you like that, please stop acting so overly familiar with me'
