Fun fact this was HTTYD for me, I had NO FUCKING CLUE that movie was a whole ass franchise, I just thought it was this obscure movie about dragons I had become emotionally attached to and when I saw a kid at pre-k with a backpack that had Stormfly on it I just about lost my fucking mind and preceded to harass them for the next 15 minutes and up until about a year ago we were still best friends lmao

Totally my own opinion but I’m like 65% certain Ares knew the shield was trapped in that chair machine thing (or something equally dastardly made by Hephaestus) so when he sent Percy and Annabeth off to retrieve it, he was assuming there’d be only one returning, so imagine his complete horror when both of the 12yo annoyances returned with no scratches and slammed the shield on the table. If you’ve never had to pick up an adult over let’s say 100 lbs I think most people don’t realize how fucking impressive it is that we see human DC characters (mostly the Bats, let’s be real) routinely lifting and carrying unconscious people for distances longer than a few feet.
