Roblox W/ Them || Slytherin Boys
Tumblr media
type :: fluff
tw/cw :: doxxing, bullying,
contains :: draco, tom, mattheo, theodore, lorenzo
summary :: how they play roblox because no way they don't play 🐍 :: masterlist!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
DRACO MALFOY
Grinds the shit out of every game he plays
He cannot enjoy a single game if he doesn't become rank 1 for at least one week
Really likes roleplay fighting games for some reason
Like Bloxy Fruit and stuff
Definitely wastes a ton of money on Robux and stupid stuff
He doesn't care that it's cheating, it lets him become #1 way faster
Doesn't really like tycoons and slow games
If he can't brag, how can he show off?
His character is SOOO try hard omfg
He definitely dresses in all black
1000% HAS RAGED AND BROKE HIS TABLE
Bought a new table after and took a break from Roblox for a week
Tumblr media
TOM RIDDLE
Plays old people games like a grandpa
A fucking beast at Bingo
Even though it's completely luck base, he wins 9/10 times
Always has like 6+ bingo cards and can easily keep up with it
Plays tycoons every once in a while
But he likes the ones where you just press a button and it's auto built, doesn't like building stuff on his own
Like, he hates restaurant tycoon and rollercoaster tycoon
Never ever spends his money on Robux, he thinks it’s cheating
His avatar is the default one too with maybe some clothes he unlocked
Bullies the shit out of little kids on roblox for no damn reason
He could have 15 missing assignments and still find time to log on and dox some 12 year old
Whenever someone beats him at Bingo he finds their mom and dad's name and then private chat's them it
Takes everything so deep for no reason
Get this man to try weed or smth man he needs a new hobby
Tumblr media
MATTHEO RIDDLE
This man has tried every single genre of games and has beaten almost everything
He's who Draco wants to be
Definitely spent way too much money on Robux for no reason
He has the headless stuff and almost every rare item ever
Has like 20k followers as well for some reason
Grinding never stops so he literally STOLE someone's house elf and makes the elf play Roblox all day
But the elf actually likes it and has fun playing it :) So it's cute
He ends up sharing his account with the elf and they become kinda like besties, but more so Matt sees him as a little brother
1000% like Tom he bullies little kids
He insults people's outfits, rates their little drawings and outfits super low, and straight up annoys them in any form possible
Sometimes he joins tycoons that have swords, doesn't even start his own tycoon, and just uses robux to get a sword and kill people
His daily mission is to annoy as many people as possible
Even worse is that he's not scared of getting hacked or doxxed because Tom made SURE that would never happen
Sometimes Matt even joins Tom's boring games but he leaves mid way cause he starts to fall asleep
Super fun to play with and will carry you 100%
Tumblr media
THEODORE NOTT
This man, oh my god this man is so guilty of so much
He's one of those people who pretend to be a different gender online for benefits LOL
But not people he actually is transgender or nonbinary, but because he wants to do girly things without being judged
Always plays fashion games and WINS?!???
Even when the votes are super duper rigged, he always wins in the end
Plays a bunch of family roleplay games too as a mother of like 5 kids
Starts fake drama for fun, like favoriting one kid but ignore the other
OR he plays as a teenage girl and runs away LMAO
But his favorite game is definately Total Drama Island
This man will stay on the game for like 2 hours just to win
Super good at parkour and aim since he also plays shooting games besides Roblox, like Apex and Valorant (ewwww)
When he plays with the guys, they mock him for his girly ass avatar but he doesn't care at all
Tumblr media
LORENZO BERKSHIRE
Likes more calm games but is up to anything
Grinds tycoons a lot, like resturant tycoon and rollarcoaster tycoon
Sometimes he plays with Mattheo but they're so different
Matt finishes his level in like 2 mintues and Enzo takes an hour
Sucks at parkour, avoids it like the plague
Super bad aim as well, literally dies first every time
He likes playing with Theo a lot more since they can vibe and play a chill game
He really likes story tell games too which is fun
LOVES the games that aren't super roblox-y which is kinda cheating
Like he used to play the old Roblox Pokemon game daily until it got shut down :(
Plays those family games too like Bloxsburg and stuff
Is actually a good kid
BUT,,, he has his name has "Enzo (17) Cute, Smart, 6 feet tall, athletic, depressed"
Tumblr media
thank you for reading ! 🐍 :: masterlist!

Intro
So let’s be real, we all read fanfiction that followed the prompt of “Help, my parents sold me off to [insert boy band/ celebrate crush/ tumblr sexy man of the week)!”, but unlike those fanfictions, you weren’t sold off to your hot crush. After a life in isolation, your father, the king, sells you off to marry the prince of another country. With nothing but two guards, you make your way to meet the dreaded fate of marriage. Along the way, you will make friends, learn the truth about your kingdom, and find yourself in positions much worse than a forced marriage. One can only pray for your survival.
In this game you will explore your kingdom and what happened to the magic realm. It will include sensitive topics, and possible explicit content in the future.
The game focuses on interpersonal relationships.
What else?
Play as Male, Female, Nonbinary (option to customize your pronouns, future trans options planned)
Date one (or more) of your 7 friends
Play as straight, queer, poly, mono, or just be aro or ace
Be a total ass to your spouse or just accept your fate
Have fun seeing your kingdom in ruins!
Get your friends killed
Get yourself killed
Ę̸̱͌̌x̷͖̕p̵̣̰͐̓e̴̡̪̓̇r̸̨̹̉͘i̷͍̮̎͝e̴͇͋̒n̸̢̼͠c̵͎̳̓̈́e̵͙͇̽̄ ̴̼̈́͒j̵̨̢̈́͆ṳ̸͝͠d̶̝̈̇g̴̨͉̀̏e̸͎͒͛m̷̳̪̓ẽ̶̙͉ń̶͕͋t̵̺̾ ̵̘̓́d̵̹̈́å̵͚ȳ̸͓͗
Okay cool, but what about dating?
Tarek/Takischa (he/him; she/her) (Ftm/Mtf)  (genderselectable)
Old and grumpy, TK is 15 years your senior and has been serving the palace your entire life. They are stoic and devoted to the crown, they take their job more than serious, sometimes they can even parental or possessive. Underneath their blank face, you know they care for you, and they always will.
They are 6′3 and have ashen honey hair, curly and cutting off just above their eyes. Pale green eyes set deep against their ivory skin. They hide almost all of their skin with layers of clothing.
(Great if you have parental issues.)
Samuel/Samira (he/him; she/her) (Ftm/Mtf) (genderselectable)
Young and curious, Sammy is just a year younger than yourself, they can be naive and easy trusting. They’re optimistic and want to impress you and all their friends. Sammy has a lot to learn, and they’re more than eager to do so. With enough care and time, Sammy will grow into a great protector.
Sammy is 5′9 with very short black hair. Against their warm beige skin tone, their monolidded eyes are a deep reddish brown. They wear simple robust clothes.
Sammy is ace and sex neutral.
(Great if you don’t enjoy angst)
Alia (she/they) (afab)
A quiet person, she keeps to herself, but always stays polite, she is a shrine maiden and TKs friend. She is a peacemaker at heart, and tries to deescalate every situation. She would be considered one of the strongest magic users, if she would ever use it. She is about six years your senior.
Alia is 5′3 and has bronze hair that is cut into a short wolf hairstyle. Blue eyes against satin freckled skin. She wears a lavender dress, with white clothing to cover her arm.
Alia is ace and sex repulsed.
(Great if you like slow burn)
Sascha (He/they) (Ftm)
He is about ten years older, but that can be quickly forgotten by how charming, egotistical and even cowardly he can act. He is not only a danger to you and your friends, but themselves too. He pulls danger from beyond your understanding into your orbit. He is a teasing smart ass that isn’t above blackmailing or hurting anyone. Not to forget that he committed the highest crime there is, stealing a magic companions.
They are 6′1 and have long grey-white hair that falls to his hips. He has very pale skin and ice blue eyes. He wears high quality clothes, and a golden jacket that fades into a deep red.
Sascha is ace and sex positive.
(Great test of your patience.)
Kate (she/her) (Mtf)
Just a few years older than you, she is noble and a healer, she is a loud and loving personality. With teasing smile, she cares deeply about everyone’s well-being, but will never be above calling anyone out.
She is 6′0, her chocolate goddess locs fall beneath her shoulders, the curls fading into a pink color. Dark deep brown eyes against warm yet ashen honey skin tone. She wears pink toned dresses and many accessories.
(Great if you like women.)
Mikhail (he/they) (amab)
The prince of Riag, your spouse, and the second general. His easy going and considerate personality makes it hard to grasp, that he is celebrated by his own soldiers and nobles of his country, deeply feared by anyone outside his country. A war criminal for his country. Beloved warrior, lover of war. He is only a few years your senior.
Mikail is 5′7 and their dark brown hair would fall to his shoulders, if it wasn’t pulled back into a ponytail. The tips of his hair fading into an earthy, almost blueish green tone, matching his eyes against his cool olive skin tone. He wears short clothing due to the heat in Riag and the many training sessions they have daily.
(Great if you believe everyone deserves a second chance.)
Gigi (she/her) (afab)
She promised Judgement Day.
Gigi is 5′6 and with ash blonde hair curling around her soft face frame, cutting off just below her ears, and light brown, almost hazel eyes. She wears primarily black with orange accessories.

one of my friends started talking badly about my other friend because they say they are nonbinary (i'm talking about 1 person but i use they since they don't want to be called a she)
i love both of them a lot and this friend never had nasty opinions before but now she says she never had nasty opinions because she said she was hiding her true opinions because she was afraid she will lose her close friends.
3 days ago she said she is no longer afraid to lose friends if they are not radfems. she said she had radfem accounts (like twitter and on discord i think?) for 3 years (so since she was 15)
i don't get the whole nonbinary thing - by this i mean i don't understand how they feel exactly - their thoughts and their experiences (since i never felt that way) but at least i will always listen and not judge them. not knowing or understanding how someone feels doesn't mean you need to hate them.
of course i will always stand up for my friend and not let my other friend to insult them... but am i a bad person for still loving my other friend? i really want to talk to her, help her to understand that people are different i have known her since i was 14 years old. i hate the things she said but i don't hate her as a person because i think she just thinks this is a "cool way" to stand out. she was always more of an outcast, she is quiet and i kind of think this is her way of "notice me!"
ofc if this friend will act this way in the future i will remove her from my friend circle. i don't support this kind of behaviour.
but am i a shit person for still hoping she will change? because on of my other friends (not the nonbinary friend) said i was a bitch for not just telling her to fuck off and to never talk to me again. the thing i did was - i wanted to talk to her privately and explain that the nonbinary friend still has the same personality - good personality even if they don't want to be called a she and even if they don't want to dress girly (they got rid of old clothes last october and has a new style). and that this is no reason to start hating your friend. but i also told her i believe in second chances and if she will be respectful i'm still here for her. because of this conversation my other friend accused me of being the same trash as her.
why i said i believe in second chances was because my family is extremely homophobic, my grandma, grandpa and my mom are very religious and homophobic. my dad is not religious but still goes to church and stuff like this so mom is happy but he is homophobic as well (and his mom and dad -my grandparents on his side are homophobic too). i was raised up to think being gay/bi/lesbian/trans etc. is wrong while i never insulted anyone over this (it's not in my personality to verbally attack people) as a kid i used to think that you are a weirdo if you're gay/bi etc. Then I realized at 12 or 13 that they are just normal people who just want to live their lives. and i actually even enjoyed watching girls love or boys love movies or series, despite being straight (ofc in secret my mom would kill me if she knew what i was watching)... because to me it was just a love story about normal couples.
now i really think the while day am i really the same trash as her? i usually want to talk to people and solve things. it's not really that easy to turn off my emotions and say from this moment on i hate her forever. we were almost like best friends. i am willing to remove her (as i already said) from my friend circle if she will be like this. but i feel like i don't hate her, i'm mad and disappointed, even sad but i still don't hate her... and now i'm being called a bitch and a trash by my other friend... which makes me feel so bad that i even don't want to see my friends because this friend talks badly about me to others too.
also sorry english is not my 1st language.
I get that it's hard to cut someone off, but you might have to face that this is the kind of situation where your nonbinary friend might need you to choose their side to feel safe around you, and where refusing to do that might have consequences.

Note
I was born in a country that didn't really advertise the lgbtq Community ( most people are homophobic) I was about 14 when I learned that there were other genders the only ones I knew were boy and girl Im 15 years old now and still have a hard time asking questions about this subject to my parents, Im an internet child and everything I know is from the internet. Im not sure what is correct or wrong because internet people sexualises Im sorry for being silent. I just dont know what I should say
It's totally fine! You don't have to say anything if you aren't comfortable or don't want to. :3 I didn't find out that there were nonbinary genders until I was in my 20's. I thought I was a girl that was a boy sometimes and had no idea that there were other people like me. My parents knew and taught me about gay, lesbian and bisexual when I was 7-8, so I've known for a long time that I wasn't straight. We all get exposed to these things at different rates. (I didn't have private access to the internet until I was 19 when I saved up to get my own computer)
As long as you remain respectful, I am fully willing to answer any questions about my sexuality and gender :3
I'll say it forever: ignorance is not a sin. No one comes into this world knowing everything. And education and exposure to things is absolutely a privilege :3 As long as you are willing to learn and are respectful, it is okay to not know something. It only becomes a problem when someone tries to force others to fit their expectations.
Semi recently I was asked in dms to explain LGBTQ+ stuff by a few different people that were new to it, so I already have explanations ready :D
Note: these explanations use USA names and understandings for things. Other cultures and languages have different words. I am explaining the basics for a lot of aspects of LGBT+ so I won't be explaining a lot of the nuance. Consider this a place to get started in learning what terms to search for so you can find more, or have more words to be able to ask questions :3 The LGBTQIA+ WIKI is a good resource to look up more information.
Explanation under the cut because it's long. I broke it down into 3 sections: biological sex, gender, sexuality/romantic attraction.
Biological Sex
Biological sex, and gender are 2 separate things. Sex determins your gonads (sex organs).
There are many possible chromosome combinations that determine a human's biological sex. It is true that there are 2 combinations that are the most common (XX, XY). The others are rare and affect the body in different ways (X, XXY, XYY, YY, XXXY, etc). Many of these lead to a person having a mix of gonads, may be missing one or more sexual organs or have different hormone balances. This makes them ntersex. The fact that someone is intersex might not be visible if the difference is internal. Because of this many intersex people have no way to know they are intersex without getting a DNA test. There is a very small percent of the population that is innersex. Google gives the number 1.7%, but remember that 1.7% of 8.05 billionis is still tens of millions of people. (Intersex is the I in LGBTQIA+)
Gender
Gender is a collection of expectations and presentations defined by a culture -normally paired to a person's preceived sex. Many things that are normal for a gender in one culture will not be the same in other cultures. These expectations normally define: hair length, clothes, family role, etc). Most people do not fully adhere with the expectations on their gender.
Gender nonconforming means that the person does not conform to the social expectations of their gender beyond the normal deviation. This can include using vocal and visual mannerisms, or pronouns that don't align with their gender. (Feminine men, he/him women, etc )
Cis gender- identifying with your assigned gender at birth. (Man, woman (the binary genders))
Trans gender- not identifying with your assigned gender. (Trans man, trans woman, any nonbinary gender)
Nonbinary is not identifying with the social belief that there are only 2 genders; it is not a 3rd gender. There are multiple genders that don't fit in the binary that fall under the umbrella title of nonbinary. (You might see nonbinary shortened to enby which is from the pronunciation of "NB", but to differentiate it from NB which stands for "not black.") Some common nonbinary genders are agender, demi boy/demi girl, bi gender, and gender fluid (like me :D).
Sexuality (& Romantic Attraction)
Sexuality is what genders you are attracted to -normally uses your gender as a basis. Since the names of many of these were made before it was more widely accepted that there are more than 2 genders, the names often reflect the gender binary. If you research the history of all of them you will find far more nuance.
The term queer was used as a slur for a time, but the community has reclaimed it, and often uses it as an umbrella term for anyone who is LGBTQIA+ (it is also what the Q stands for). Since it was considered a slur, many people aren't comfortable being called it, so it's good practice to not call someone queer without their permission even if they are LGBT+. I really like the term queer and often refer to myself as queer because it can be a lot easier than explaining my specific gender and sexuality.
Straight- attracted to the opposite gender
Gay- men attracted to men
Lesbian- women attracted to women.
Straight, gay, and lesbian are generally considered attracted to exclusively one gender. The term "fluid" can be attached to these to say that while they are mainly attracted to [gender] sometimes they are attracted to other genders. You may also see these terms attached to bisexual to denote preference.
Since gay and lesbian are widely considered attracted to exclusively one gender there are other terms becoming popular that are not as exclusive. Sapphic is women that love women (and can love other genders). Achillean is men that love men (and can love other genders).
It's also worth noting that Straight, Gay and Lesbian are accepting of non binary genders in both who can identify with the sexuality labels, and who they are attracted to.
Enbian- nonbinary people attracted to nonbinary people (this is a semi new term that is still developing.)
Bisexual- there's a lot of debate on the exact meaning, but it has come to be accepted as an umbrella term for people who are attracted to more than one gender. (I fall under this one. I normally say I'm bi/pan fluid because my preference moves around a lot -depends on what characters I've been hyperfixating on recently XD)
Asexual (ace)- someone who does not experience sexual attraction. They may or may not experience sexual desire (horny). They can still experience romantic attraction and crave romantic relationships.
Aromantic (aro)- someone who does not experience romantic attraction. They may or may not experience romantic desire. They can still experience sexual attraction.
Note that Asexual and Aromantic are spectrums. These are the most common that I tend to see, and for a while where used as sub-umbrella terms:
Asexual/aromantic- does not experience attraction
Gray sexual/romantic- experiences attraction in rare circumstance or only when specific things are in place (can be like having very specific taste). Or they can only experience attraction in a mild way.
Demi sexual/romantic- experiences attraction only after forming a bond with a person. For many this is only after knowing someone for a long time, but doesn't always have to be.
Asexual and Aromantic people will often specify their combination. Examples: Asexual Lesbian Romantic; Aromantic Bisexual. (I am Gray bi/pan romantic, and Demi sexual (specifically cupiosexual))
Also, regardless on whether or not someone experiences sexual attraction, they may or may not be accepting of, or like sex. This is normally broken down into 3 umbrella levels: Sex Favorable, Sex Neutral, Sex Repulsed. Sex favorable is considered the normal for non-ace relationships. It's very common for people that experienced sexual abuse to be sex repulsed. (I am sex favorable)
There is a lot of overlap with these, as well as with ace and aro. For example: in fandom and fanfiction spaces expect to find many asexuals that are sex repulsed in real life but love to explore sex in fiction.
One final note: the A in LGBTQIA+ refers to agender, asexual and aromantic. It does not refer to ally.
If anyone has any questions about these, I will do my best to respond and give links to where you can do more reading. For obvious reasons I know more about the parts I identify with, than the parts I don't :3

Hey everyone, this post is going to be a bit different. Pride month is nearing an end and I was ask to make a special something for this project I'm in.
I want to talk about my journey with discovering my sexuality and gender identity, along with my battle with my disability battle with ADHD.
I was around 15 or 16 when I started to question my identity. I didn't understand what or why I was different from everyone else around me. I didn't understand why I faked being in love with boys or found myself only falling in love with fictional boys but not real guys. Then I began to think harder. I realized that maybe I wasn't so straight.
As I was finding my way I explored different labels, explored my gender, and eventually finally admitted that I needed therapy for my health.
At first I thought I was bisexual and nonbinary. At the time it felt correct, but time past and I realized it didn't make sense or feel right. I needed to keep looking. Then I identified as lesbian and demigirl, but once again later down the line they didn't feel like me.
Finding your identity takes time, trying things out for a time and seeing what makes you feel you. There is no rush, no impending doom waiting around the next second.
I finally found my gender when I was looking online about different genders in the trans and nonbinary umbrella: trigender.
Trigender is a gender similar to gender fluid. One identifies as three genders, whether all at once- like a mix of colors- or flux between the three- like colors melting into another.
Trigender was the labe that felt right, where I felt myself click into place. I felt like a woman, a man, but in between- nonbinary. It made sense and felt just right for me.
As for my sexuality? I am still into women, but I now use Gynosexual as my label. It is a gender neutral way to say that a person is attracted to women identifying genders or feminine traits. Which I am.
I also figured out I am ageosexual. Ageosexual is a sexuality on the asexual spectrum. Ageosexual is a sexuality where one isn't disgusted seeing anything sexual in nature, able to watch 'adult fun' without being uncomfortable, but still having no desire for sexual intercourse of any kind.
I can handle a sex scene or joke in media, but even the thought of actually having sex makes me uncomfortable and nauseous. I don't like even the thought of anyone I may date in the future see me naked, god forbid touch me.
I will hold hands, kiss on the cheek, peck on the mouth, cuddle, hug, but anything else is a no. Just no.
So after finding the labels that fit me and have found myself comfortable with them, I settled on my pronouns next: they/them. I didn't like being referred to as just she/her, just female. I liked the more neutral they/them as it feels better and more like me. It felt right. But everyone around is still having to get used to my pronouns and using them. Learning is still going on, my family no used to my pronouns as they spent years with my old ones.
But my mental health during this? I went to see a therapist at 16, working on my depression and anxiety first. I was prescribed medication to help deal with my issues and given tools to help manage what the medication can't. Medicine isn't a cure for mental health, it just helps manage the issues one has.
After I was given the starting tools I worked on myself and tried hard in high school. I was more energetic, I felt less tired, and I had more motivation. It didn't last however. I began to have issues with attention, I kept getting distracted easily, forgot things constantly, was restless, overall a mess without knowing why.
Then my doctor prescribed me with a medication I recognized my mother taking. It was one she took for her bipolar. So I thought for a while I had bipolar, stupid I know but hey I wasn't thinking clearly. But soon I was diagnosed with ADHD, given medication and tools I needed to manage things, and found myself more relaxed- and given confirmation that I do not have bipolar. I could sleep longer than four hours. I could finally have my thoughts slow down. I even could focus better.
But the struggle wasn't done. You see, during one summer on a boiling hot day, I tried to end my life by heat stroke. I had turned my heater on full blare on the hotest day that week. Then I took a nap, hoping to anyone listening that I wouldn't wake up. I woke up, drenched in sweat, realizing what I nearly done. I turned off the heater and quickly tried to cool myself down. I only confessed about till six to seven months after that happened. This was when I was around 19, probably 20. I had dropped high school before this, the stress of dealing with family problems, moving, and the pandemic just beginning. I wasn't great mentally.
I have also experienced cutting before, something common sadly with people dealing with depression and constant stress. It wasn't a good feeling. The pain of cutting was not what I enjoyed ever, but I am ashamed to say this, but I did like how it made me numb to everything.
In the present day I am much better, not perfect but not a mess, I'm simply okay. I've been through so much and have many years to go hopefully. To end this post as it is long enough as it is I will say this:
Your journey will not be like anyone else's, it's your life and you will find the pieces of yourself in time. You just have to find what feels right and what is comfortable. You may have a hard time with your disabilities, mental or physical, but you have support around you ready to help. There are people who want to help you get better, you'll find them. I know it. Just be kind to yourself, allow time to feel out what it is you need. And allow yourself to make mistakes.
The worst thing I ever did was try to be perfect, to be strong. In actually, it's okay to be weak and to be imperfect. We all need to learn by making mistakes, grow from them. And sometimes we need to let out emotions, to stop trying to hold everything inside.
It's okay to be yourself.

dinosaur kid in the 90s, never accused of being a tomboy and used to love dresses until I went 180 and rejected them when I realized they were compulsory Girl Formalwear
blissfully don't think about gender throughout most of my teens
straight because boyfriend? have a minor panic when said boyfriend comes out to me as bi. have a Homophobic Moment(tm) when I think about my boyfriend leaving me for a boy
promptly eat my words about a year later when I'm having a sleepover with my bestie at the time and the thought occurs, unbidden, "if she were down I'd have sex with her"
(never made a move on that one. though later I'll find out a couple of my Girl Crushes at the time were queer)
cautiously and tentatively start thinking of myself as bi
start discovering I enjoy wearing masculine fashion
the hammer comes down hard on that one from my mom
for the next 10+ years I dress almost exclusively in baggy pants and hoodies. i am still undoing this damage.
BUT: the next time I end up with a Bestie Crush, I make a move and it goes well (hi @cherrehc!) (I end up marrying her. like 15 years later) (we like to take our time with things)
20s are an occasional sexuality buffet (with Cherry's thumbs-up) and I confirm that yes I do enjoy sex, and yes I do enjoy it with multiple genders
still not thinking about gender: am aware by this age of Transgender People and am cool with them but I've never felt like a boy so that's not what I am, right?
(Even if, when puberty really took hold, I felt completely alienated from my secondary sex characteristics? that's normal, feeling like your body isn't yours but is a barbie's, right? I'm hot and I like being hot, so I'm a cis girl, right??? people like my tits and I like that so I must be a cis girl, right????)
at the same time find myself playing nonbinary characters in RP situations before they are in vogue in the wider community.
(reading some of my old RP logs is wild. it is all RIGHT. THERE. in text from when I was 20 and had never heard the word nonbinary.)
(I have avoided RPing men up until about this point because "I don't know how to play a guy". women are already strange to me: men must be aliens.)
(then a particular character occurs and something clicks.)
fast forward to my early thirties. one of my best college friends is on T, has been calling himself a male name for years, and comes out first as nonbinary and then as a man.
wait.
wait.
wait.
if I'm not a girl I don't have to be a boy? I don't have to be a boy to not be a girl? well that's closer, but what does that leave me?
I hear the word agender.
grief.
the loss of so much time. looking back on this timeline of events and feeling the most profound sense of something gained, late, not too late but still so late. It's never too late to know yourself, but you lose time. You lose the ability to experience parts of your life, ones you can never relive, as your genuine self. In my case, I also may have lost the window in which I can safely medically transition, as other health issues have cropped up since I was young.
I will never get to be a young nonbinary person: I never was, because I was never allowed to imagine myself that was.
I was a "girl". I was an alienated, lonely girl, who didn't understand why she felt, even when invited, that female spaces were wrong and strange. There are other reasons for that too, but I think a huge part is gender. I was invited repeatedly into the world of the feminine by good women in my life, but I never went there. I didn't feel the pull of it, even when I wanted the friendship and companionship that seemed to live there.
I lived in limbo. I felt like -- not a gender failure, but a kind of nothing. An empty space. a void. I didn't have something missing, I was something missing.
it's a big grief. It's ameliorated by getting to see young people living as the people they are, watching others grow up with the self-knowledge I was never allowed to come to.
I don't know where all the agender people my age are: odds are good that attrition bore them into silence or suicide, or that life has not yet introduced the opportunity for them to learn better than how they were raised, or they're (like me) just so very fucking tired and unable to build community themselves. I know a few of y'all here fall into that category and I'm quietly collectively rooting for us, here; I know one or two others from my union and animation work.
But it brings me so much joy to see younger queer communities embracing gender diversity. Treasure it. It may still be an uphill struggle, and newly dangerous in a different way to be visible, but at least you're not lost alone and blind in the dark woods thinking that sight is a myth: you have each other, and you know what you are.
LGBTQ+ folk what was your gender/sexuality pipeline?

I’ll be making some of my own content and the title is called “A Life of Love”. Also before you ask me are these some references from the owl house, then yeah… there are some (mostly owl house references).
The main characters are Della Hanrollten, Daffy Hanrollten, Kimmzy Horten, Lillith Kornkstin, David Suremore, Gabriel Evermore, Penelope Dovelese, George Cover,Hank Foleo, and Yolan Jykel, Henry Listmen, Caleb White, Jonna Winken, Georgia Holmes, Justene Heceros, Marcus Beakler, Stanly Koals, Benjamin Falcon, Jennifer Kiv. There will be others in this series like parents, teachers, strangers, other people that you would normally meet.
Della and Daffy are siblings. Della is 15 years old, she’s a lesbian, she goes to Darrow High (everyone in this story goes to Darrow High because it’s a small town), she will meet someone that will be a very important person in her life, and her friend group is kinda like the rag tag group. Daffy is 14 years old, he’s an ally, he and his friends also hand out with Della’s friends, and like his sister will meet someone very important. Kimmzy Horten is 15 years old, they are Della’s best friend, they are nonbinary, and is dating Lillith Kornkstin. Lillith is 15 years old, she is bisexual, is dating Kimmz, and she is Della’s bestie.
David is 16 years old, he is gay, he’s on the basketball team ( The Dolphins), and he’s also dating Gabriel Evermore. Gabriel is 16 years old, he’s a soft boy, he’s gay, on the cheerleading team (yes he wears a skort), he goes by Gabby, and he’s really short. Penelope is 15 years old, she’s kinda like the school rich girl because her parents own a lot of money, she’s a lesbian, she also goes by Penny, she’s in the cool kid group as the head of it. George is 16 years old, he is Penny’s best friend, he is trans (yes he is a fem boy), and he is kind of a know it all.
Hank is 14 years old, he is pansexual, he has a huge crush on Yolan Jykel, he is Daffy’s best friend, and is like kinda a big fan of Amazing Max (A knock off of Super Mario. Yolan is 14 years old, he is polysexual, also has a huge crush on Hank, is one of Daffy’s “soul-bros” (it’s a name that Daffy came up with), and is a big fan of Greek mythology.
Henry is 16 years old, he is aroace, he’s kinda like the bully of Darrow High, he has like two people who have a crush on him, and he has a band (he’s lead guitar player), well he’s aroace with for now. Caleb is 15 years old, he’s kinda like Henry’s helper, he’s gay for Henry, and he is the lead drummer in the band. Jonna is 15 years old, she is as straight a line, she acts like she and Henry are dating (but he can’t stand her and she wont take no for an answer), she is the weird girl at school, she also is a wannabe pick me.
Georgia is 15 years old, she is the school beauty, she is bisexual, her best friend is Justine Hererose, she’s in love with Justene, and she’s friends with Penny. Justene is 15 years old, she’s known as the helper/nicest girl in school, she is gender fluid, she also has a crush on Georgia, and she is also friends with Penny. Marcus is 16 years old, he is straight, he is in love with Georgia, he hates Henry (because he thinks he’s trying to steal Georgia away), and he is a dummy.
Stanly is 14 years old, he is Daffy’s rival, he’s a Demi boy, he also is kinda of a nerd, and he has a crush on Benjamin. Benjamin is 14 years old, he is Stanly’s best friend, he’s bisexual, he loves Stanly, he also goes by Ben or Benji, and he is a fem boy. Jennifer is 14 years old, she is bisexual, she has a little crush on Daffy, she is also top of her class, and she is the daughter of a very wealthy couple.

To the lil' one who asked me
"how do you know you're pan rather than bi?" "how did you come to terms with being nonbinary?"
So over 10 years ago this jpop boy group called KAT-TUN put me in a chokehold & one of the members {who still is part of the group to this day} named Kamenashi Kazuya did one of the most captivating solo performances; the performance of 1582 at Tokyo Dome in 2009 was basically my canon event. Istg it altered my brain chemistry forever
A post from 2011 breaks down everything if you want to understand the song & how it's presented if Japanese isn't your first language or you have never seen the footage before:
Hopefully this will never be taken down but here's the full clip ( because it's an original rip from 2009 it doesn't have cc or subs):
I was already aware I probably wasn't straight as young as like 6 years old but by 2009, as I was a freshman in highschool, I watched this performance and went "oh". Then I would spend 2010-2013 realizing what the differences between bisexuality and pansexuality and it's safe to say I lean more pan.
As for being nonbinary, it took a long time to come to terms with simply because being a 7 year old girl with facial hair & being forced to conform my whole life has put me under so much trauma & bs offline. Had the pandemic not happened, had I not interacted with medical professionals who asked if I could be intersex {I'm not btw, had to do ultrasounds and shit}, & not been around other adults who like me for me & allow me to bring it up- I think I would still be grappling with it.
But the day I confirmed I wasn't intersex (after spending a few weeks wondering if I really was nonbinary), I spent a whole 8hrs trying to relocate this video because I couldn't remember the song name and concert; then I rewatched it to see if how I felt at 14/15 years old was still the same. "Why would a cis man make me not straight?" "Why when I tell others about this specific performance they don't get it?" "Did I mis-remember that performance?" had been questions that internally chewed away at me until roughly a year ago. I resonated with the story, the low key drag performance, & honestly would still give anything to be Kame-chan in that moment
So in short, figure out what was the show, character, story, song, person, thing, etc. that gave you the epiphany that you're not straight and think about why you resonated with it- especially if you're unsure if you're trans or nonbinary. What shaped you as a child really does subconsciously guide you as an adult.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/07/29/black-hair-children-book-bans/
Her book empowers Black children, and hopefully won’t enrage adults
Tumblr media
The email shouldn’t have made me nervous.
It was from a young Black woman raised in D.C., and it contained an advance copy of a children’s book she had written.
The work had grown from an earlier project St. Clair Detrick-Jules launched after her younger sister, Khloe, was bullied by classmates for her Afro and didn’t want to return to school. Other students had called the 4-year-old’s hair ugly, and she had believed them. Hearing what happened to her sister reminded Detrick-Jules of how she was teased for her own hair when she attended a predominantly White elementary school in D.C. and how it took her until after high school to stop wishing her face was framed with straight, silky strands.
She didn’t want her sister to waste that much time disliking a part of herself. So, Detrick-Jules taught herself photography. She then photographed 101 Black women with different natural hairstyles and compiled those images in a book she titled “My Beautiful Black Hair.”
I told you about that book in a column two years ago.
If at the time Detrick-Jules had told me that she was also planning to publish a children’s book, I wouldn’t have felt nervous for her. Not even a little bit.
But the country has changed in the past few years. We are now witnessing a war on children’s books that is expanding in ways that would be laughable if they weren’t so concerning.
The push to pull books that address race, ethnicity and LGBTQ+ issues out of public spaces has lately been growing even uglier and more unpredictable.
People have gone from focusing mostly on school libraries to now making demands of public libraries. A recent Washington Post article detailed what that has looked like for a community in Virginia. In Front Royal, people have overwhelmed the library staff with hundreds of book “reconsideration” requests, persuaded lawmakers to withhold library funding until concerns are addressed, and accused the library of sexualizing and brainwashing children. “Bearing the brunt of the anger is the library’s staff and its 15-member, all-volunteer Board of Trustees, who include a retired Air Force general, a lawyer, an accountant, parents, grandparents, churchgoers and home-schoolers,” my colleague Gregory S. Schneider wrote in that article.
People across the county also are taking aim at picture books. That’s right; they are scrutinizing those brightly illustrated books created to capture the attention of babies, toddlers and young readers and filing complaints with school systems about them.
Some of the illustrated books that have received complaints, according to an article that my colleague Hannah Natanson recently wrote, are: “Julián Is a Mermaid,” a book that features a boy who dresses as a mermaid, “Peanut Goes for the Gold,” a book about a nonbinary guinea pig, and “Skippyjon Jones,” a book about a cat who believes he is a swordfighter.
The person who filed a complaint about that last book, according to the article, argued that it “promotes negative stereotypes towards Mexicans and the Spanish language” because the letter O” is added to the end of the words throughout the book. The cat sings at one point, “My name is Skippito Friskito. / I fear not a single bandito. / My manners are mellow, / I’m sweet like the Jell-O, / I get the job done, yes indeed-o.”
Yes indeed-o — that is how ridiculous the fight over the children’s sections of libraries has become.
I remember reading “Skippyjon Jones” once to my sons when they were younger. I’m Mexican American, and I didn’t find it offensive. I found the rhythm catchy, and I was glad the story held the attention of two squirmy boys for a few minutes.
But that was just my impression of the book. I don’t expect everyone to share it. I can respect that some people will want to put down the books I want to pick up. What I can’t respect is their belief that they have the right to snatch from my hands, and the hands of other parents, books that we want to read to our children. That picture books are coming under attack shows that the objectors’ fight never was about supporting parental choice. It’s always been about eliminating choice.
The titles and themes of the books that these groups want to ban may differ, but they all share this: They empower the people those groups would rather see weakened.
“I’m deeply concerned about the current slew of book bans across the country,” Detrick-Jules told me. “I’m concerned for Black and Brown students, for LGBTQ+ students, for immigrant students, for students with disabilities. … Our kids — collectively, as in, the kids of America — deserve to feel seen, represented and valued.”
After Detrick-Jules published “My Beautiful Black Hair,” her book was mentioned by name in a column by the conservative author Ann Coulter. In it, Coulter wrote that “white schoolchildren are being browbeaten about their ‘white privilege’ and instructed to ‘unpack’ their ‘white privilege knapsack.’”
When people share their stories with me, I become invested in them, which is why I was nervous to read Detrick-Jules’s new book. I knew the story behind it — that it had grown out of White children teasing a Black child. I also knew that other children’s books that have dared to point out how racism has harmed, and continues to harm, Black people have become targets for book bans.
But when I opened her book, which was illustrated by Tabitha Brown and will be available to buy in September, I realized she didn’t tell that part of the story. It was a picture book, after all. The book is titled “My Hair Is Like the Sun,” and the pages feature photos of Black children with different hairstyles next to images from nature.
Detrick-Jules said the idea for the book came to her when she was interviewing one of the women for her other book. The woman told her that her classmates used to call her “Tree Girl” because she wore an Afro. The nickname was meant as an insult, but it got Detrick-Jules thinking about how curls can resemble the waves of an ocean and how locs can flow downward like the rain.
“So much of what we admire in nature — its power, its strength, its freedom, its beauty, its joy — can be found in our own kinks and curls,” she told me. “For so many Black kids, and adults, our hair is seen as a chore, as something that needs to be done. I want ‘My Hair Is Like the Sun’ to be a reminder that our hair is actually a gift, and it’s a blessing that we get to experience it in so many forms.”
One page of the book reads: “My hair is like a waterfall, rushing toward the ground.”
Another page: “My hair is like a river, winding all around.”
When I finished flipping through the book, I felt sure of one thing and unsure of another. The book will no doubt empower some children. Less certain is whether it also will upset some adults.

[image description: two illustrations of different people with cat ears and tails, both in a circle filled with fire and with the words "catgirl arson" or "catboy arson" captioned above and below the circle in a yellow-orange gradient. The first image is the one titled catgirl arson and has a pale yellow-eyed girl with long straight black hair and a mischievous smug expression. she's holding a lit match between two fingers in one hand, and a unlit molotov cocktail in the other. she has tall pointy ears and a long thin tail both with a black and orange tortie pattern. she also has a dark pink collar with a gold tag with a pawprint imprint, and a pink tank top with blue pawprints, and black clawed nails. The second image titled catboy arson is of a boy with tan skin and dark brown fluffy hair sticking out wherever. he is grinning openly while he holds a lit lighter in one hand and an unlabelled pink aerosol can in the other. he also has cat ears and a tail, but with shorter ears and slightly fluffier tail than the catgirl and his fur is white. he also has a dark blue belled collar, and white shirt with blue sleeves and shirt collar, with pink paw prints on the blue areas. end id]
here i thought i already posted catboy arson to tumblr but apparently not! couldn't find it when i tried looking but i guess i uploaded it to instagram but not here. anyway in december 2020 i made catboy arson and yesterday I made catgirl arson. it's equality
anyway they're siblings and also trans
I also plan on making a third nonbinary sibling and i'm torn between titling that 'furry arson' or 'nyanbinary arson' because 'catperson arson' and 'catfolk arson' don't have the same ring
also! both catgirl and catboy arson are on my redbubble store!
catgirl arson here
catboy arson here

[image description: a blue toned series of drawings titled “top 3 tattoo ideas for if i lose my nipples after top surgery”. the first is titled “This Is Not A Nipple”. it is a close up of the nipple area with the nipple being labelled “tattoo of a nipple” and words tattooed across the top of the scar “ce n’est pas un téton”.
the second is titled “my eyes are down here” and is of the torso of a chubby person with light skin, who has a double incision scar thats connected in the middle. where the nipples would be, instead are two styalised eye tattoos. the 3rd image is another close up titled “pizza but one of the peperonis is where the nipple should be and the crust is the scar”. pictured is exactly as the name suggests, and upside down pizza where the scar forms the crust and one of the peperoni slices looks like a nipple. end id]
before surgery i was indifferent to if i wanted to keep my nipples or not, so i drew this as a fun thought on what i would do if i lost them anyway.
if you are recovering from top surgery and look at your nipple and think 'oh fuck its going to fall off' then good news! they won't. that's just what a healing nipple looks like. trust me bro, i've been there.
i thought my scars would look like the middle one when i drew this but they ended up not connected in the middle and also higher and more noticable on the armpits. i did keep my nipples however. different size than they used to be but i never really cared about my nipple size anyway.
did end up getting this as a print for the art festival i did in september, and people did buy this one so im counting as a win! putting it on redbubble now, so if anyone still wants this as a print then it’ll be there. i really need to get around to opening that etsy huh.

@letters-to-lgbt-kids' 22 Questions for Nonbinary November!
1.Which labels do you use? Transmasculine, nonbinary, genderqueer, nonbinary trans guy, transmasc. (only counting gender labels)
2.What are your pronouns? he/they! No preference.
3.How old were you when you came out to yourself as nonbinary? Uh... idk exactly but it was like a year ago? ish? depends on whether you count the other 3 times i came out to myself lmao.
4.What’s one thing you’d like to tell your younger self? "hey there's actually a Reason you hate being called pretty and avoid mirrors like the plague and really want a flat chest. Wild, right"
5.Is there a myth about nonbinary people that annoys you the most? that we're all unaligned and want to be androgynous. I DO want to be andro, in the sense of being fem and masc at the same time, but others don't. Also, i'm masc-alligned.
6.Is there a nonbinary celebrity you look up to? This might be cheap lol but Demi Lovato, i like their music, so... yeah.
7.If you’re out, how did you come out? I am not ~technically~ out. But my friend knows; i was like "hey i think im transmasc" and she said "ok cool". but i came out to my family and it was. interesting lmao
8.Is there a gender-related pun you like? non-beenary. Also: trans people should handle the money because everything we do is a transaction im so sorry
9.Do you have friends who identify as nonbinary, too? friend-ish people, yeah. Also i have a friend who jokes she's "{name}gender" and says he is ok with literally any pronouns so... we may have an egg here.
10.Do you have a favorite lgbt+ character? Hmmmm Nico Di Angelo is my namesake but i honestly can't pick lmao.
11. Lgbt, lgbt+, lgbtqa+… which one do you usually use? Queer. I have a long, long post explaining why, but i hate being called LGBT unless you also call me queer lmao
12. How do you explain the term “nonbinary” to people who have no idea what it means? "i do not vibe with gender". or, "boy is here, girl is here, no gender is here, and i am here" *points between boy and no gender*. they usually get it
13.Tell us a fun fact about yourself (gender-related or random!) i am absolutely obsessed with books and if you want a book of any genre or type or trope just ask me via asks or anon and i will throw ALL THE RECS at u
14.How did you find your name? I stole it from Nico Di Angelo <3
15.If you’re in a relationship, how did your partner react to your coming-out? I'm a single pringle who doesn't wanna mingle lol, but my FRIENDS were all pretty good (except one. she's a transphobic asshole and i kinda hate her now)
16.Do you prefer partner, datemate, significant other or something else? i mean i've never dated and don't really wanna but my theoretical partner would call me boyfriend or partner in crime. the "in crime" would not be optional and i would not date someone who would object to it
17.A piece of advice for questioning kids? don't treat labels like they own you. E.g. if you ID as straight then really wanna date a boy/girl/ur gender, don't jump thru hoops explaining away that emotion--just use bi or pan or something else that fits. Also, it's ok to change labels!! i did like 20 times before i settled on my labels i've been using for about 8 months now!!
18.Which flag(s) do you use? nonbinary, genderqueer, aroace, bi, trans, transmasculine, asexual, aromantic. Look em up urself, tumblr won't let me post the images
19.Any tips for bad days? read a book. write a story. draw a picture. it doesn't have to be good, just do it. it helps
20.Do you have a favorite nonbinary blog on tumblr? i like @neopronounsmybelovaed, @lgb-positivi-t (not NB specific tho), and @letters-to-lgbt-kids (also not nonbinary specific tho). idk i havent seen a lot of NB blogs--reccomendations are appreciated!
21.Feminine, masculine, androgynous - or none of those things? i would like to be all of them at once but also femme but also manly masc boy but also 'my gender is gay and my sexuality is nonbinary' but also do not percieve me but ALSO-- (u get the idea)
22. What are your three favorite things about yourself? ah fuck uh. i like my writing. I like my ability to usually find good friends. i like how i will literally consume All The Information related to the things i like (in other words, talk to me about the raven cycle or writing pls).

With that post talking about same gender attraction being what gay and bi are… i gotta ask… given genders are culture … do you think it is cultural to be gay or bi or straight … or do you think orientation evolved and gender is evolved too? If so does that mean sex stereotypes evolved as real…? Does it mean “homosexuality” in other nonhuman species isn’t actually homosexuality because we are just going off of sex and not gender…? Or is there cultural orientation (gender based) AND innate orientation (sex based) in humans? And then other animals with sexes just have the sex based ones.
my sweet anon, I have searched the earth that is my blog and dash for you, but I can't seem to find the post that you are referring to and I will literally forget about everything I reblog or post as soon as I post it
however, I'm going to do my best to make my stance on this comprehensible for the outside world to read. To put my inside brain thoughts into actual legible words if you will, even though I don't think I can fully answer your question
alright prepare for a ramble *cracks knuckles*
now I don't have a lot of experience with cultural differences other than religious differences because I come from a christian conservative environment in rural Netherlands and all I can say about those *ssholes is everyone fully expects anyone to be cishet. you get born cishet, and you stay cishet till you die otherwise you go to hell. I'd say this is a huge (toxic if I may say so) heteronormative cult(ure).
that said, no matter how much my entire family bullied me into being cishet, I'm neither cis, nor het. Despite the bubble they wanted me to stay in, I still met other people, mostly online at the time. and that brings me to the following; I had non hetero thoughts for the first time when I was 11, but did not fully understand till I was 16 because I met other people. I met bisexual and gay people and something just finally clicked.
I am 27 now, and finally figuring out that I am nonbinary and actually way more masculine than I made myself believe throughout my life. I was a makeup artist for fucks sake. And the reason that I am only figuring this out now is because my family is strictly anti trans and I'm currently in a safe environment for the first time in my 27 year old life. I had my first encounter with a crossdresser/transgender woman (I don't remember fully because I was young and didn't understand) when I was 15. It was a unique experience because no people other than cishets ever visited our little village (or townspeople would shoo them out with torches and pitchforks)
People in my hometown weren't exactly encouraged to figure out their personal sexuality or gender identity and I'm afraid this is the case in many many manyyyyy places.
I'm sorry if you expected more out of this, but the only culture I've ever had to deal with is christian conservative and I only really started to get to know myself once I stepped out of that and stepped directly into LGBTQIA culture. I worked as a bartender at a gay bar in the city where I live these days, interacted with drag queens that later became my friends, met men with their own makeup brands, then suddenly a transgender man sat on my terrace when I was working, then I saw Jim in Our Flag Means Death, and Viktor in The Umbrella Academy and it all helped me figure out this repressed feeling in myself. Then I nervously dropped the non binary bomb with my cis boyfriend and his cis mom and they were just like "okay! good! beautiful! you're yourself and whatever that means for you, the most important thing is that you feel happy" and I'm only now realizing that I wore men's jeans as a kid, always played with toy cars, and was way more interested in "boy culture" than I was in "girl culture" if I might say it so black and white because that's how I saw it back in the day.
in the end, I think it's a feeling from within with every individual and the culture you're born in can either help you figure yourself out and love yourself sooner, or help you destruct that part of yourself and develop a deeply rooted self hate for whatever part of yourself that you're trying to repress to receive the bare minimum of affection from those who should actually love you unconditionally.
Who you are and who you feel attracted to, sexually, romantically, or as a friend (I expect anyone to find a type of person more appealing to hang out with than others)
I think the animal kingdom has figured out a lot more stuff about this than we have. I really believe animals don't fucking care who they're with? it's humans that make a huge issue out of sexuality and gender, not animals. It is the humans that go "oh my god those two animals have the same gender ajdkshdlfhal" but they'll still do it. whether we hate those animals now or not.
I do think both gender and sexuality, romantic feelings, or other kinds of attraction to other people, have evolved in a way! Like everything else around us has evolved. my boyfriend always picks a wrecking ball metaphor. if you hold the ball in one position, left or right, it will stay there, then you drop it, and it immediately falls all the way to the opposite direction, then back, and forth and it takes a while until it settles in the middle. We've seen a MILLION types of sexuality and gender identities over the years, I remember seeing LISTS of identities in 2012 and I didn't understand a single one of them, until I learned that gender, and sexuality, and the lack of it, are a spectrum. I believe we're slowly settling in the middle. You actually can't really label any identity in my honest opinion. Of course we do label them and some people strictly fall in that label but like I said before, I first identified as bisexual and later found out I'm actually pansexual, now I don't know which of these two is more true, because it's a spectrum. Truth be told I've always been in relationships with cisgender men. So who knows, and honestly who cares?
Again I'm sorry if this didn't fully answer your question, I might not have understood the question the way you intended it to ask but I'm very open to these kinds of discussions so my inbox is open for more of this!

could you rank the degrassi next class characters?
gladly!! also sorry in advance if you love any of the characters im about to shit on lol
20. Frankie Hollingsworth. Almost had her second to last but. No. Klu Klux Fran?? The ZOO?? I can't even talk about her she's just so damn annoying and racist and omg. And she was being pushed as the new Main Girl which made everything all the more offensive and unbearable
19. Esme Song. Sorry but I do not think she had a single redeeming trait. She had nothing she stood for, no actual character beyond being an antagonist to every single other person on the show. Like she thinks Shay is stupid for being embarrassed about getting her period on her boyfriend's pants, and yet she calls Yael disgusting for having armpit hair?? So what's the truth? And people are like "well she's mentally ill" to excuse all she does. Well Maya is mentally ill and Esme makes fun of her too. So who's side are we on? Like I would've liked to see her get help and develop but we didn't get that so.
18. Hunter Hollingsworth. Terrorist. Not even interesting enough to be an actual school shooter. Just a waste of a character. Sexist, violent, had a plot about wanting to play video games at school. I'm so bored. Only not at the bottom bc I feel like he wasn't in my face as much
17 & 16. Baaz Nahir & Vijay Maraj. Thing 1 and Thing 2 to the would be school shooter. Clowns. They were a terrible group and I cringed any time they had a plot together. Annoying together, useless on their own. Hard pass
15. Yael Baron. The final member of the above group. Was mostly boring and annoying and especially dumb for being romantically interested in Hunter. Only gets bonus points for their coming out as nonbinary plot. After their makeover I was literally crying
14. Jonah Haak. Mostly disliked him for being in a relationship with Frankie. Like I'm sure they were only a year or two apart but he felt so much older than her. It was gross. And mostly he's just really blah. The attempt at a straight edge character at that point was. Hilarious. at least.
13. Winston Chu. Seemed harmless at first but idk all the boys were shifted high into clown mode when this show hit netflix. The incident with the geisha and Japanese soldier costumes? Defending Zoe against Esme? Then later telling Goldi maybe she should take her hijab off to cause less of a fuss? Bruh.
12. Saad Al'Maliki. Honestly I felt like he was the one with the most braincells most of the time. Probably pissed me off the least. But he was also in the least amount of episodes and didn't make much of an impression on me. Was mostly just boring. But I'll take boring over everything that came before
11. Lola Pacini. Degrassi has a knack for introducing the worst and most obnoxious characters and then eventually making you love them. Lola was not quite that. I hated her for the longest time but it decreased a bit near the end. I got emotional when she had her abortion. And when she gave Yael their makeover. And when she reached out to Saad and convinced him not to leave. I feel like I could've grown to like her more if the show went on, but again... Oh also I hate her and Miles together sorry
10. Grace Cardinal. Ugh Grace is confusing to me. I wasn't the biggest fan of her story with Zoe. I mean sure you're allowed to hook up with someone and then realize "oh that's not for me" but it was handled so awkwardly. Like she slept with Zoe just to be like "damn i hate when everyone thinks i'm a lesbian :/" like why. Idk she was fine but I'm not over the moon about her
9. Goldi Nahir. Ugh okay I feel like they didn't know what to do with her. Like she had the plotline about if she should take off her hijab or not. And she had to teach the poor whities about racism. That was about it? She was adorable and sweet and a bright spot in the show but ugh she deserved better than what she was surrounded with lol
8. Shay Powers. Again, it's not her fault she's stuck in a show written by 70 year old white people. But the black girl is completely oblivious to the racism of her friend? She has to ask her dad if a racist thing is really racist? She's never experienced racism? Ok Degrassi. They treat all their black girls like shit and I feel like I just stan them out of spite bc of that lol. But she's cool and a nice person and she's into sports so she's at least doing stuff
7. Rasha Zuabi. Another generally nice and cool character that I have positive feelings for. Also she was gay so yay. Loved her story with Zoe. I think there was just one moment where I was like "wtf are you doing" but compared to everyone else it's not a big deal
6. Zig Novak. I have to admit that all my enjoyment of his character comes from before Next Class. He was such a sweetie and then he left and came back acting dumb as hell. That was not my boy in Next Class. But ahhh he's still my boy sorry I love him <3
5. Deon "Tiny" Bell. Basically the same as Zig above. But I feel like he maybe had a few less moments of being an asshole? Also his promposal for Shay was cute <3 Wait didn't he also date Lola? Wasn't a fan of that either.
4. Zoe Rivas. She was the one dressed up as a geisha lol (: Oh boy Next Class was something else. Umm it was nice to see her process of accepting herself as a lesbian. I feel like it took forever tho. Which is understandable irl but this is a tv show lol. I didn't enjoy her sucking Zig off in the woods. Not fun. But her relationship with Rasha was one of my fave things about NC
3. Tristan Milligan. The amount of hate Tristan gets is faaaar too much. He's one of my favorites of the whole show honestly. I think he's funny and dramatic and a great addition to the show. But he gets knocked down bc I can't remember anything he did in Next Class other than BEING IN A FUCKING COMA FOR A WHOLE SEASON. He's already Owen's brother, he's suffered enough. But I love his relationship with Miles. And him helping Zoe accept herself
2. Miles Hollingsworth. Yes another character I wasn't fond of at first. Hated his relationship with Zoe and thought he was just boring. Truthfully I think I only became interested when he started dating Tristan lol. Plus omg with his family?? It's a miracle he got out at all. He went through so much bullshit and he was especially going through it in Next Class. He was kind of a hot mess but also I just care a lot about him. He deserves the world <3
1. Maya Matlin. Is Maya really my fave?? I guess so! Yet another character I wasn't fond of at first. Which is insane bc we just got to the part in our rewatch where she first shows up and I'm like !!! baby girl!! So precious!!! And I wanted to cry thinking of what she's about to go through. I feel like her character is treated with some of the most respect and care. Her motivations and mental health decline all make sense storywise. I just care a lot about her and got super emotional watching everything in her story, especially the later parts in NC
Wow this is a lot!! But I hope you enjoyed my ranking and explanations lol. Also like. Everyone was racist. Everyone was mentally ill. That was the whole show. It was a hot mess and truth be told I am not a fan. Even the characters I love, they were acting weird here. Like I said about Zig and Tiny and their character regression. And I think it was the same for like Tristan and Zoe and plenty of others too. Everyone was off, idk how to explain it. But that's my ranking for the hot mess that was Next Class!!
Thank you for the ask, ily <3

hello hi , it is g , ur friendly local neighbourhood hindu indian ( as in south asian  ) ! so a few people requested that i just make a guide-esque sorta thing on hindu  indian characters ! im not really good at guides , so instead , these are just little things i’ve noticed or picked up on that could really potentially strengthen the next indian character u ( pretty please ! ) pick up !
disclaimer : i am writing this from my perspective and it is NOT definitive , nor do i speak on behalf of all hindu indians  ! i am a 23-year-old bisexual cis female hindu indian , with one older gay brother, and a Train Wreck middle brother . my mother is from new delhi , and my father is from nairobi but has indian heritage ( not sure which part of india bc he’s an Engima ) . i have extended family in india and have visited india about 10-15 times throughout my entire life .
so firstly , im so glad u all are here and want to write more hindu indian characters ! please please do so !  i hope this helps , encourages u , and isnt too confusing !!
psa : i need everyone to know that this is a very basic ‘ guide ‘ and theres a lot it DOESNT touch on or address bc i didnt want to get too Extensive and Detailed and have people Turn off and not Read it . this is just written in the terms of hopefully helping build  character / be relevant to characters a bit better that ive employed into writing my OWN hindu indian character creations !  but if u have any other questions pls reach out to me or any other indians in the rpc and im sure we’ll try our best to assist u !
FCS:
one thing i’d really like to say is that its great to see fcs like dev patel  , deepika padukone and avan jogia picked up every now and then in rps , but there’s actually a LOT of other indian fcs you could be and should be using ! the main reason people don’t seem to know them is because they’re not ‘ hollywood ‘ stars per se ( it was a super big deal when pr*yanka broke out of bollywood and into bollywood but we don’t talk about her on this Blog ) . they’re usually bollywood stars and i don’t really see bollywood discussed that much in the rpc !
if you’re after MORE indian fcs , i have a tag of indian females here , and indian males here . the fcs on my blogs are also not ALL that exist . there are plenty of other blogs out there that post indian fcs , such as sonamhelps &  bollymusings !!! there’s also some really great faceclaim directories out there that include a LOT of indians with resources !
unfortunately , i do not know of any trans indians or nonbinary indians but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist . indian cultures and beliefs are still quite Old School and not super progressive . india only just had it’s first wlw mainstream bollywood film released last year . lgbtqia+ issues are NOT really spoken about in india or within indian families at ALL , and if they are - they’re usually dismissed or reacted to Very Very Badly . ( again this isnt definitive and im sure and hopeful that some indians have had GREAT coming out stories and been accepted by their families but this has not been a common thing ive seen or witnessed from my cousins my age , indian friends , myself and my brother who are lgbtqia +  )
FOOD :
we do eat with our hands and we eat like PROS with our hands . we can shovel it so easily and quickly . i don’t know how to describe it but you use the first three fingers of your hand to place the Food there , and then use your thumb to kinda scoop it off and into your mouth . this is NOT unhygienic because indians wash their hands very regularly and most of the time we aren’t actually touching our mouths to our hands !
indian food is MADE to be eaten with your hands for the most part . it is literally NOT practical to eat food with a knife and fork . here’s a really great article explaining things more in depth re: indian food and using our hands !
cows are seen as Very holy beings in hindu indian culture , and for that reason - there isn’t a lot of beef being eaten or consumed. sure , some indians DO eat beef but i don’t think its super common, but in my personal experience as a non-beef-eater this results in A LOT of me asking ‘ oh ,  sorry what sauce does that pasta come with ? ‘ ‘ oh those are beef sausages ? sorry i can’t eat them ‘ etc etc . beef is in a LOT of things , and this makes me very very careful and almost pedantic about what i do eat and ask about , food wise  !
indian food is seen as stinky by a majority of white people . it has a very very strong smell as im sure u know , and opening ur lunch box as a little kid to a Curry or Dal ur mum has made u ? one way street to being bullied . i also remember a time a real estate agent continuously told my dad nobody was interested in buying our house bc it smelled too much like curry,  despite my mum not having cooked curry in Weeks ( just say what u Really mean ,  bitch ! )
indian curry exists but so does dal / daal . this is curry-like dish that is usually made out of lentils . so if ur going to talk about indian food and u know curries and samosas . . pls also bring up dals . and sabji ! ( sabji is usually just boiled vegetables plopped together . a lot of potato usually )
desserts are what we call Indian Sweets  . this is stuff that is usually very VERY sugary and a bit of an accustomed taste . theyre very colourful and LOOK beautiful but even i , for one , can not eat many indian sweets bc they are a Lot of Sweet and Sugar    . examples of indian sweets that u can google  : gulab jamun , burfi , rasgulla , jalebi etc . here’s a great link for more !
give me spiced food or give me death . literally . . put some cumin in . . put some garam masala . . put some chillies . . flavour ur Food for my Indian Taste Buds
FAMILY :
if you are the oldest son of an Indian Family . . congratulations . you are now the Head of the family and must carry every weight and burden alone . it is extremely isolating and taxing on you ( my dad is the oldest indian son , and also - so is my eldest brother , obvs ) . there is a LOT that is expected of you to do . you are expected to quite literally run the family and be the ‘ man of the house ‘ by yourself .
if you are a daughter . . . even BIGGER congratulations ! you are basically a maid to every male or guest who EVER comes over to your house . you must be a Hostess , you must be in the kitchen cooking , serving snacks, bringing tea , and then washing up and basically waiting on Hand and Foot . you will not be included into a lot of dialogue or engaged in a lot of conversation and TRUST ME ! THAT WILL GRIND UR GOD DAMN GEARS IN THE 21ST CENTURY !
if you are a boys’ boy ( aka straight and Sporty ) , then congrats ! you get it the easiest : you are the favourite of every social event . the uncles and cousins love talking to you and dude-ing it up with you , and the aunts fawn over you and think you’re the Best Thing since sliced bread . sit back , put your feet up , and expect to be treated like a God. you can do absolutely no wrong . ( my middle brother is this to a T and listen . . he’s been in and out of jail for physical violence and ab*se for over 5 years . and family still FROTH over him . my teeth are gritted to dust thinking of this again )
indian aunties are lethal . they gossip like teenage girls . they will find out everything . they will bitch behind your back . they can NOT be trusted .
everyone is ur uncle or aunt, sister or brother . literally everyone . ur cousin ? no. thats ur sister . ur dads friend ? no , thats ur uncle . you will call them as such . EVERYONE is family .
family is in general a VERY BIG THING in indian culture , too . ‘ what will it Look like to everyone else if we don’t all arrive together ? ‘ my dad usually asks dskjdfjn . it’s all about Looking Right and Standing As A United Front  . that being said , indian family has undying and unwavering loyalty for one another , they just show it in a very Weird way .
FASHION:
female hindu indian formal  clothes are usually really embroidered to hell and back and this makes them very scratchy , uncomfortable, and HEAVY . you aren’t running anywhere anytime soon in a full blown lehenga or saree
most ‘ modern ‘ hindu indian women do not wear full Indian Clothes all the time . some do , but usually it’s a lot of wearing a kurti tunic with jeans , or just normal everyday clothing . again , this is going to be different based on which parts of india your character is from , though !
usually , older women and married women  wear traditiona hindul indian clothing quite often . i know my mum wore a sari AT HOME everyday when i was growing up, until i was like 13 and took her shopping with me to get something Else to wear .
bindi’s just stick right onto ur forehead but they do fall off a lot , especially when ur wearing makeup or sweating . again , you don’t need to wear a bindi everyday , unless thats ur preference . i usually only wear them for festivals . ( festivals means indian celebrations , not like . . coachella  ((which u should not be wearing a bindi to , if ur not indian fyi )) )
male formal clothes are usually just literally anything Formal and buttoned up for the most part , and u can get away with that , or you can wear a really nice kurta
indians wear white at funerals , not black  ( not sure if this should go in the fashion section but this entire thing is being organised into a Mess by now anyways ) . you CAN wear black to a funeral of course , but its common to wear white !
DATING ( tw’s for islamaphobia ):
modern day indian / desi fuck boys exist and my god they are Something Else . hasan minhaj did a really good piece about this and explaining them to a T ( starts at 1:43 )
( THIS IS THE POINT THAT WILL MENTION ISLAMAPHOBIA AND HOMOPHOBIA ! ) basically according to Older  indians , ,  ur dating options  in 2020 go like this ( if ur a cis female like me ) : hindu indian men are god tier , white men are Not Okay But I Guess So Bc We Have To Accept They’re Everywhere , females / being lgbtqia+ is not Taken Seriously , and muslims are literally not even close to being an option or Accepted  . again this isn’t definitive but based on a lot of  indian media i’ve consumed and seen how they portray muslims in general as well as Dating Options , as well as talking to other indians  , both who are older / traditional and hold these ideals , whereas Younger gens generally do NOT hold these ideals  / actively are Against these backwards ideals.   i remember when i was in year 6 and had my first boyfriend . . he was a muslim and my dad FLIPPED the FUCK out  . it’s not even that i was dating someone / young / his only daughter . . it was mainly because i was dating a muslim . again , this is a very OLD SCHOOL and traditional way of thinking and it is NOT CORRECT .  pls don’t take this as a note to be islamaphobic if u write an indian character bc . . thats literally the opposite of what im trying to tell u here .
yeah arranged marriages are definitely still a thing for us , even now in 2020
YES if u are an unmarried / single indian ( ESPECIALLY if ur a woman ) about to enter ur 30s . . ur in DANGER and u are the black sheep and theres probably something Wrong With You bc why are u still single ?
TRADITIONS / BELIEFS / SUPERSTITIONS :
idk if its just me and my family but we are SUPER superstitious . if you say anything like ‘ he hasnt gotten sick in years !’ immediately , everyone knocks on wood or their head . if you were planning on leaving the house and sneeze ? thats bad luck , stand and wait for five minutes then u can leave . we have a strong belief in drishti , or  alternatively : The Evil Eye  , and making sure we don’t invite it into our lives . a lot of our prayers are about warding drishti away .
the evil eye is kinda Complicated but basically its an ill-wishing upon an unsuspecting person . if somebody is jealous of you or angered by you , they may wish upon you or cast upon you the Evil eye ( or even just glare at u whilst ur not looking and thats Big Bad ) .
a lot of older indians , like older people in general i guess , are not super progressive or Open . this isnt ALWAYS the case but older indians can be very very stubborn in their beliefs in what is Right and Wrong , Normal and Not Normal
theres a LOT of hindu indian festivals and events ! tbh too many for me to even keep up with . but without fail at least once a year ill say to ONE of my friends ‘ oh sorry i cant make it . i have an indian Thing on that day ‘ and its usually about a festival , so pls be aware that there are a LOT of indian festivals and if ur writing an indian character , its perfectly understandable and Relatable for them to say they can’t make it to a party or hang out with their friends that night , for that very reason !
the main / most popular ( ? ) festivities  that i personally do celebrate every year without fail are :
diwali ( the festival of lights , celebrating goddess lakshmi roaming the earth . in my household this is usually turning on literally every single light and lighting candles and fireworks / sparklers and saying some prayers , and eating a formal dinner all together !  )
holi ( the festival of colours . celebrating victory and love . again personally for me , this was usually celebrated at the temple with all of us Kids running around throwing paint on each other ! )
rakhi / raksha bandhan ( a day of sisters celebrating their brothers . you tie a rakhi which is usually a bracelet / holy string around your brothers wrist , feed them some food , pray for their wellbeing and in return they gift you something . in my case, i usually get money from them ) .
navratri  / durga puja ( 9 nights and 10 days of celebrations but tbh u don’t have to do all the days . or i mean . . i don’t . i fast one day from morning to night and then i slide on over to boogie and dance dandiya which is literally the MOST FUN dance ever bc its based off some Historical Fight and u go faster and faster and keep going until ur absolutely SPENT bc u dont wanna lose ur place in the circle )
there are SO MANY HINDU INDIAN GODS too . and so many prayers to all of them and to just general Life Wellness . chances are that ur character will know at least ONE aarti / gazal / prayer off by heart and have sung it at least 30 times in a monotone voice . the ones i know off by heart bc ive had to sing them 3000 times ? om jai jagdish hare , & the gayatri mantra
GENERAL LIL THINGS I DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO CATEGORISE ( tw’s for skin whitening , colorism and classism ) :
( THIS IS THE POINT THAT NEEDS A TW FOR SKIN WHITENING AND COLORISM  ) lets hold indians accountable right now : we advertise SKIN LIGHTENING CREAM  . i think they finally stopped that earlier this year / due to BLM ( i’m not entirely sure / could be wrong ) , but thats literally how bad it is , that we would openly advertise and encourage people to literally bleach their skin rather than look darker .
( THIS IS THE POINT THAT NEEDS A TW FOR COLORISM AND CLASSISM ) colorism is a BIG thing in india and usually linked to class . generally speaking , the people who are Darker Skinned are usually people who work outside / labourers or homeless even , and are therefore seen as lower class / bottom class . the lighter skin you have , the more privileged and advantaged you are bc ur seen as working a Good job out of the sun and having a home . it’s incredibly classist as well as just generally Fucked Up . why am i telling u this ? mainly so u understand the importance of using a dark skinned indian fc vs a light skinned indian fc which i know is hard , bc a lot of darker skinned indians arent in hollywood / have resources , but its still something to Think About .
i have a long Ethnic name . literally my first name is 10+ letters , which i know doesnt seem that long Necessarily but its also a Super Ethnic name with e’s and and j and n . it Flows and Sounds very clearly different from a christian name . it is VERY important to me that my name be said Correctly because i’ve spent so much time having it said incorrectly or Westernised . i also know a lot of indians my age who ( like me ) have had to dramatically shorten their REAL first name ( which is usually also pretty long . not always , but it is Common ) , to fit their name into white people’s mouths better . please put some thought into ur indian characters name !
not all indians speak hindi ! hindi is one of MANY dialects within india . there is also tamil , urdu  , bengali , punjabi , telugu and SO many more , so pls research which part of india ur character / their family  is from bc hindi won’t always be the default language for them !
not every indian is hindu ! of course ur character doesnt have to be religious at all , bc if im being honest IM barely religious but my FAMILY is and this is smth u should think abt bc religion is a pretty big thing for indians . so even if ur character isnt hindu , they were probably raised with SOME religious beliefs . have a think about which religions they would have been brought up with ! there’s a very large percentage of practicing muslims , sikhs and buddhists too ! and even christianity !
WRITING WISE / CREATING AN INDIAN CHARACTER WISE :
the first step should be to consume indian media ! listen to indian music . watch bollywood movies ! theres SO MANY  out there on everyone’s netflix . if u want some recs , let me know and i can try my best to find smth for u ! if u want smth thats Hollywood-indian . . . Hasan Minhaj is great to watch , especially his episodes on indian culture / politics , and Never Have I Ever on netflix was rlly good / relatable for me personally as an indian growing up in a western society !
i would really really love to see more indian rep in general , but i’d also like to discuss the Stereotypes that ive seen indians portrayed as in mainstream hollywood media :
indian women as soft spoken and subservient beings who are abused by their husbands and have no say in anything
heterosexuality within indian relationships and indian dating
indian men as sleazy
indians in general not being seen as Sexy or Sexual beings with any sex drive at all
Stumbling , Stuttering , Nerdy awkward messes of men who don’t know how to interact with anybody they find sexually appealing
an indian character that everybody ( usually white ) finds Uncomfortable and Weird and is seen as usually the Butt of the joke .
i think those mentioned above could be helpful in how to plan your next indian character and think about how to SUBVERT a trope theyre often portrayed as , or create an indian thats not stereotypical !
so what and who SHOULD you write ?
an indian character who is proudly and openly gay , or bi
a trans or nonbinary indian ( PLEASE ! )
an indian character with really super accepting parents and family
an aromantic indian
an indian who is focused on their career first and not their dating life
a fuckboy / fuckgirl ( honestly . . i’d love to see it )
a indian character who is a party animal
an outspoken indian female who takes no shit and is strong in every sense of the word
a confident , smooth talking indian businessman who is Sexy and Lusted After ( not in a gross christian grey way but just . i’d love to see indian characters seen as Sexy . not in a fetishy way , either , but just because it’d be a nice change in pace ! )
a character who IS traditional / religious but also very progressive and forward thinking in their beliefs
honestly just any character that isnt whats mentioned above
