Welcome to Villa Barton built in 1993 and remodeled in 2006. The villa is located in Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland. It has 5bds, 6ba, and is listed for €4.5M / $4,903,078.50. I don't know how to describe the decor, you just have to see it for yourself.

The tour begins with this very large room lined with wood paneling, and travertine floors.

If you like this carpet, good news, b/c you'll see it again.

Like here, in the sitting room with red walls to match. Note that the bar is quilted in red leather to match the Chesterfield sofas.

Quite a large bar with plenty of space for bottles.

The room also has an ornate fireplace.

This is my favorite room, big, white, and perfect for showing off the best feature of all- the big gold legs screwed into the ceiling.

This is some big dining room. It appears that the carpet is framed by the floor. This table seats 16.

Initially, I thought, what is a kitchen set doing in an office? But, it's the kitchen, which is so large, but so disappointingly sparse. They don't even show the stove or anything.

More hall, more carpet.

This is a very cool home gym. Barbie would love it.

Purple walls with the red carpet wouldn't have been my choice.

I think that this may be the empty wine cellar.

This is one of the bedrooms, and it's quite spacious. Could be a guest room.

The matching en suite has a big jetted tub. Does the floor match the wall? I've never see anything like that.

This palatial white, black & gold bedroom is the primary. You can see that it also has a large sitting room.

It has an en-suite, with that carpet. The shower seems awfully high off the floor.

Wow, look at the office. I've never seen computer screens attached like that. What the listing photos don't show, and I wouldn't expect them to, is the home's safe room, in case of a home invasion.

Look at this patio and garden. It's like in a movie.

The outdoor grounds are stunning.

The bad news is that the nearby golf course was designed by the famous golfer Arnold Palmer, and there is a mandatory yearly service charge and membership fee of €5,244.26 / $5,714.88.

Rosalina's Weirdly Consistent Modesty

Have you ever noticed that Rosalina has consistently shown the least amount of skin between her, Peach and Daisy (and in more recent years Pauline) when they are put in alternate outfits?

I promise this post won't be creepy or puritanical, this is strictly about character analysis.

Believe it or not, Mario & Sonic started this trend (as far as I know). These are their Rhythmic Gymnastics outfits:

She's the only one who has sleeves.

These are their beach outfits/swimwear:

Rosalina shows the least amount of skin; you can't see her midriff nor can you see her thighs.

These are their doctor uniforms:

She doesn't show her legs.

These are their tennis outfits:

She's the only one wearing leggings.

These are their golf outfits:

Again, Rosalina completely covers her legs whereas Peach and Daisy don't. Pauline here is wearing trousers, and is therefore covering her legs, but unlike Rosalina with her that isn't usually the case when it comes to sports attire.

And in Battle League:

Despite there being customizable clothes, she is the only one of the four human girls to permanently have tights and sleeves, they cannot be taken off.

Rosalina's consistently modest clothing is a great and effective way of showing and emphasizing her mature and reserved nature. Especially in comparison to the other girls, with their outfits suggesting that they're more playful, youthful and flirty (Peach in particular), or sporty, outgoing, and willing to show off (Daisy in particular). Rosalina's clothes also add to her mysterious nature by physically and literally hiding parts of herself away.

Ain't character design fun?

This post is about the clothes, but I like how in their Mario & Sonic renders; Peach strikes an elegant pose, and Daisy waves confidently at the camera with a hand on her hip, but Rosalina is the only one who doesn't look directly at the camera (as if she is avoiding eye contact) and clasps her hands around her knee. Her body language is literally closing herself off. However, one leg remains outstretched, showing she's still capable of reaching out to others, even if she's not as extroverted or cheery as Peach or Daisy.

Even body language can say a lot.

Top: in the pre-rendered movie intro to Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, during a brief scene where Luigi is celebrating, the skin around Peach's eyes is brighter than usual.

Bottom: if a lighting effect is applied to the entirety of Peach's model except for the eye texture, the result will be the same as in the movie, with a characteristic angular shape around her eyes. It appears that this error happened during the rendering of the movie, whereby the shadow effect was mistakenly set to not apply to Peach's eyes.

I know a lot of you don't actually watch Bad Golf (cause golf) so I would just like to highlight the start of this video that I'm 99% sure Alex edited himself, where he's edited it in the same way I would have for a project in my Year 9 Computer Science class.

This 2008 Nantucket style home in Byron, Minnesota is located on a golf course. 4bds, 4ba, $1.195M + $325mo. HOA fee. However, I was not prepared for the interior.

Nantucket style is a combination of historical elegance and nautical whimsy.

So, I was surprised to see leopard, black and gold.

Notice that the floors have the typical boat style flooring and wood color.

The owners have made it their own, so if new buyers want a nice Nantucket home, changes will have to be made, especially in regard to paint colors. Maybe the black won't bleed thru navy blue?

In the dining room, fancy chandeliers hang from nautical style beams.

I like the fireplace in the kitchen and the color of the countertops.

A sunroom is visible thru the glass wall in the kitchen. The sunroom opens to the patio and pool.

The primary bedroom is plain, but has an interesting ceiling that they don't show much of.

The walk-in closet/dressing room.

And, the en-suite. Lots of white accented with black. The subtle colors of the modern subway tile give it a little contrast.

On the 2nd level is an office with a cute little fireplace.

Nice secondary bedroom and bath. They're both very roomy.

There's a large family room, and I would say that the fireplace was given a new black marble facade.

The family room features a kitchenette.

Plus a flex space used as an exercise/massage room.

A simple 4 seat home theater.

A large deck faces the golf course so you can watch the action.

And, there's also a covered private patio on top with an open patio below.

I would think that where the very green turf begins is the end of home's property.

The home is on a .53 acre lot.
