OKAY SO I TALKED ABOUT THIS A LITTLE ALREADY BUT I'LL HAPPILY GO ON MORE!! So Scraps finds out that Kent has a baby (on accident) and helps out with like childcare and stuff, and baby Kent (whose name is William Georges Armand Parson, but just gets called Will for short) hangs out a LOT with Scraps' kids, and actually is kinda trilingual because Kent speaks about 50/50 English and French with him, since he has a bunch of French-Canadian teammates and it's worth keeping up the French, and Scraps and co mostly speak Russian with Will, so Will is a menace in three languages instead of just one (Kent regrets his choices sometimes).

Scraps, when Will gets older, takes Will with his family to family skates and stuff and nobody really questions it, it's just Scraps' mystery appearing child who's only sometimes around but is UNQUESTIONABLY Scraps', because he mostly refuses (at least as a very small child) to leave Scraps' side except to go to Kent (who's awesome with kids, so nobody questions it), and he doesn't really talk to anyone. And yeah, Scraps gives Kent a weirdly large leash with Will, but it's not like anyone questions it, after a while (also, because Sergei and William mean the same thing, Scraps often calls Will "Sergei" or "Seryozha" because he's obstinate and Kent said he couldn't help name Kit so instead Scraps just nicknamed his kid. Will loves it. He does not love when Scraps' wife (or Kent) now have an extra name to yell when he's in trouble).

Ultimately, Kent continues to wholly successfully hide an entire child, mostly because of the obliviousness of hockey players.

Like Cristinas latina you know the moment she hears his full name her mind is definetly going to THE mark anthony salsa singer. He was married to Jlo. We all know they still write every song dedicated to eachother and is super popular in latin american music. Tias everywhere love him.

I'm actually embarrassed I never thought about this before. My aunt listens to him all the time. Cristina 100% plays a bunch of his songs for Mark. Mark loves him, a lot more than he cares to admit. He plays all his songs for the rest of the Blackthorns.

I was reading a post about CoTG and I realized: Rick has seemingly started to write every character pairing with the exact same dynamic, and he's not good at writing that dynamic and it doesn't make sense for 90% of the characters he writes it for.

It's that very specific dynamic of one half of the pair who is almost aggressive to the other party - "teasing" them constantly/insulting them, affectionately punching/judo flipping/maiming/etc, seemingly almost always exasperated with the other - and said other party usually just accepts this treatment or blanketly views it fondly, and may generally be framed as more incompetent than their partner and a little bit of a doormat (particularly relating to being insulted/teased/etc by their partner).

We start seeing this dynamic in HoO with Percy and Annabeth, as a sort of semi-inconsistent twist on their rivals-to-friends-to-lovers dynamic from the first series. Then the dynamic pattern develops further with Leo and Calypso. Then Magnus and Alex. Then Nico and Will, particularly in TSATS. And now in CoTG, it's Percy and Annabeth again but even more in this direction.

I know people have talked about Nico and Will's relationship over the series rapidly being shoehorned into Percabeth Two™, and it's extremely apparent in TSATS that Rick's doing it on purpose (including directly quoting Percabeth scenes but minorly tweaking them to be Solangelo). But recognizing it as an overarching trend in Rick's later books honestly reminds me a lot of how Rick started trying to apply the "Percy Formula" so-to-speak to nearly every protagonist in HoO (and then try to replicate similar character archetypes with Magnus and Apollo's narrations - moreso Magnus in being jaded and sarcastic, very much trying to be first series Percy. He only sounds unique because Rick failed at making him Percy 2. Apollo is more akin to later-series Percy characterization of being goofy and incompetent. Apollo [and Zeus] even got retconned to give Apollo a more similar backstory to Percy's). Rick seems to have decided that he thinks the audience wants this specific dynamic but 10 times over, except he's not good at writing it the first time because it's a bastardization of the time he did a different thing okay.

And Rick also seems aware of that too! Because he retconned Calypso and Leo at the end of TOA, probably because he realized how absolutely awful it was reading when they were written with that dynamic of Calypso just functionally hating Leo and constantly being aggressive towards him! The only time Rick's actually made the dynamic even semi-successful was with Magnus and Alex, because it actually fits within their characters, their dynamics with each other, and their environment. Alex beheading Magnus on the regular works out fine because there are no repercussions to that in Valhalla, Magnus will be fine, so it does genuinely come off as humorous. And Alex has been effectively established to be abrasive at times but have her genuine feelings shine through regularly, and that meshes well with Magnus' jaded-and-aloof-but-quietly-very-empathetic character. And Magnus has been established to, yes, not be great at combat, particularly compared to Alex. They are the only time that flavor of dynamic in that form was effective and cohesive.

Percabeth is no longer rivals-to-friends-to-lovers badasses on equal levels with shaky pasts who finally found some form of permanence with one another. Now it's super smart doting and affectionately aggressive girlfriend and her silly goofy 50%-of-the-time incompetent boyfriend who she judo flips/pushes off cliffs/etc - but affectionately~! Solangelo is trying to riff off of the early series "Poseidon & Athena are enemies" dynamic that Percabeth had but with Apollo & Hades being "opposites" but learning to accept each other, except it ends up with Will just coming off as a huge asshole and Nico being retconned to a complete doormat about it - when prior to that those characterizations would be completely contrary to their established characters (even just from TOA!). Calypso in HoO gets retconned from her PJO characterization to being snooty and aggressive, and Leo's false persona gets merged into his just normal personality except he just also becomes a doormat but more goofy than Nico with occasional haha-dark/depression-humor! Which Nico also got. Which was also a bastardized Percy trait that got redistributed.

It's exhausting. Rick write more than one relationship dynamic you can do it I promise

this was all development shit for the zakharovs who i posted last week. sergei is igor's former childhood friend who i have not come up with much about yet... all i know is he is also a fashion designer (who makes winter clothes specifically) and he has an illegitimate son named nikolai who is an arctic fox (and who i have not drawn yet)

omg okay so if anyone remembers my last sketchbook dump i introduced this character andre in there (and her name was andres but i changed it to andre bc i like it more for whatever reason). anyway ive been drawing him OBSESSIVELYYYYY and have decided that him and null get together at some point after argyle and jamie make up (i desperately need to make a jamie and co timeline post)... but it lasts like one semester and thats it. andre is too vain and too know-it-all for null's tastes even though shes like super hot and nice otherwise. anyway this is just a bunch of drawings of him. i really like how the one of him in my INSANE hat turned out

santiago and null's joint slay... both of them LOVE to gossip with each other and its instrumental to how jamie and argyle make up (will go into detail when i finally figure out all the actual events of that). also andre and null on a hike bc andre is a biology major. i actually drew that while i was on a hike in red rock canyon heres proof

7. comic i drew at the laundromat LOL. takes place either shortly before OR shortly after andre and null get together. johnny mostly hates andre for being with null (shes jealous) (she wants null all to herself even though shes super noncommittal) (johnny get your shit together) BUT ALSO andre being kinda pretentious makes her want to chokeslam him. andre is talking about bird farming specifically because johnny's family are chicken farmers... ive had a lore post about everyone's families in my drafts for months but i cant finish it til my stylus is fixed TT

As soon as I saw it and the thought hit, I KNEW I had to show this to you, because it made me so unhinged thinking about the two badass women having a bit of a meet cute...maybe in the middle of a fight...perhaps against the GIW as they, in their utter hubris, decide to lay siege to Nanda Parbat in hopes of extermination the Lazarus Pits and all those that use them.

And oh no...Ra's al Ghul has been pushed into the Pits and hasn't resurfaced...(Walker has him in custody, don't worry :) )...who's going to lead the Assassins now? Certainly not his very responsible and much nicer daughter...who's interested in the woman who singlehandedly tore her way through the ranks of the Agents surrounding them to open a path for the rest of the Ghosts to go through and create chaos :)

Oh my gosh this ask is rewiring my brain- I've written (Past) Maddie/Talia before, and I've seen people talk about Jazz/Bruce but Jazz/Talia???

Oh my gosh I am overwhelmed (positive), I love it so much. They could be so good for each other or so toxic and honestly I am here for either. Here Damian thought he only had to worry about Selina as a stepmother, no no no! Now he has to worry about Jazz as a stepmother, and he can't decide if that's worse or better. Because on one hand, Jazz would probably be really nice to him and try to bond with him, but on the other hand this is tsundere Damian over here, it takes a while before he really warms up to new people in his life. Especially new family members.

I still think that Andor is the straightest show for the sole fact that it has too many straight couples (even though it’s not focused on the romance) and Velcinta has not much screen time. Hopefully they will change it on season 2

good point and I do hope we get much more velcinta in s2 but also I liked the way the romance in Andor was done as opposed to hating almost everything in those Acolyte scenes lol. also it's been a while since I watched Andor and The Acolyte ep 6 was very aggressive with the heterosexuality so that biased my opinion

All the Ever Autumn kids aged up a bit for fun with bonus adult version Umber and Hyde. They are loosely all about 5 years older here then their current cannon ages, so: babies > kids 5-6, toddlers > kids 7-9, kids > teens 13-15, and tweens > teens 17-18. It’s adhd/autism hours >:)
