We’ve been doing white identity politics since America’s founding. We just called it politics. The white men booing in that room represent the past. They need to understand where we are going, so they don’t get left behind. The women and people of color are already getting in formation, and we aren’t going to be thrown off course.

Paul Bernon is co-chair of EMILY's List Creative Council and a managing partner at Rubicon Real Estate, LLC, which owns and manages investment properties across the United States. He is a co-founder and partner at Burn Later Productions, a Los Angeles-based film finance and production company. Paul is also a co-founder and served as fundraising chair of the Next Generation Developers Task Force, which provides patient family housing for Boston Children’s Hospital.
Paul is a member of the Boston College Chief Executives Club and he is a former director of the Massachusetts Housing Finance Authority, a quasi-public agency that has provided over $17 billion in financing for affordable housing. He is also a Board member at the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Alliance for Business Leadership, and a past overseer at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Paul served as finance co-chair for the campaigns of former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley. He provided the seed capital to launch Jess McIntosh and Zerlina Maxwell’s activist newsletter, “Signal Boost,”on Sirius XM Radio. Paul has lectured at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, the University of Southern California, and Boston University about politics, film production, and entrepreneurship. He is also a past recipient of the Visionary Leadership Award from the Jewish Community Relations Council.
In response to being asked to serve as vice chair, Bernon said, “We had historic levels of turnout in 2020 but we need to continue to reach and turn out new young voters in the upcoming midterms and beyond. The stakes couldn't be higher, and I'm honored to serve as Vice Chair as we continue to break down barriers and work to elect more pro-choice Democratic women to office across the country.”

[Image descriptions in order: a tweet by @cmclymer "Charlotte Clymer🇺🇦" (verified) which says "Bad news for many pundits and reporters: this has been a great presser for Pres. Biden. His answers have been deeply informed, nuanced, and assertive. He sounds like a commander-in- chief who can see the whole board and knows the right moves. Devastating for his critics."]
[A tweet by @Angry_Staffer "Angry Staffer" (verified) which says "This is a wide ranging press conference where Biden is showing a mastery of multiple facets of foreign policy.
Compare this to literally any of Donald Trump's speeches. There's no comparison.
Give me the old guy with the stutter."]
[A tweet by @itsJeffTiedrich "Jeff Tiedrich" (verified) which says "now someone ask Donald Trump the exact same questions".]
[A tweet by @ZerlinaMaxwell "Zerlina Maxwell" (verified) which says "The folks who focus on the gaffe in the beginning are imo simply admitting they don't have the range to cover the substance of this presser."
@miss_dion_54 "Miss Dion" (verified) responds "Don't want to admit he stunted on them with that foreign policy so all we'll hear about is the misspeak."]
[A tweet by @RexHuppke "Rex Huppke" which says "Gaffes aside, the depth of understanding Biden has on these issues is impressive, and should not be dismissed. This stuff is important, and he knows what he's talking about. Kinda central to actually doing the job."]
[A tweet by @speechboy71 "Michael A. Cohen (NOT TRUM..." Which says "Biden tonight referenced “European munitions policy.”
If someone asked Trump about "European munitions policy" it would be like watching my dog trying to untie a knot".]
[A tweet by @BMeiselas "Brett Meiselas" (verified) which says "Yes, Biden gaffed at the top, but this is a very strong presser with very, very good answers. Hopefully media can focus on the substance and not their feeding frenzy. He is making a great contrast against Trump, especially on foreign policy. Honestly, he should do this twice a week."]
Joe Biden, coherently and normally: I have three issues to speak about. First, the NATO conference went well. Second, the economy is back on track and inflation is down. Third, my proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza is moving forward. Any questions?

On MSNBC, Zerlina Maxwell highlights the coverage disparity between the murders of Nia Wilson and Mollie Tibbetts: “Nia Wilson is also an American who was killed, tragically, for no apparent reason in Oakland, California recently. A Black teenager. And there wasn't the same amount of coverage.”

After Sanders’s speech, MSNBC immediately asked its panel for reactions. The first person they turned to was Zerlina Maxwell, who the host identified only as an “MSNBC analyst.” What the host omitted, but which Maxwell herself acknowledged, was that she was a paid official for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign against Sanders: that, revealingly, is the first person MSNBC had opine on Sanders’s speech.
“To be very serious about it, I clocked it. He did not mention race or gender until 23 minutes into the speech. And just for point of comparison, I went back and looked at Elizabeth Warren’s opening speech, for example. She mentions race and discrimination in the first paragraph. So that’s a big difference.”
That is a big difference. It’s also a total lie. Sanders mentioned race, gender, and discrimination multiple times at the beginning of his speech and long before the 23-minute mark, as anyone who actually watched it — which presumably includes all the MSNBC personalities on that panel who sat silently as this lie was broadcast — obviously knew was a lie.

Trump Tweets Condolences for Wrong Shooting
Donald Trump appeared to get his mass shootings mixed up when he offered his condolences for Sutherland Springs, Texas, Tuesday night — in the wake of a massacre in Northern California.
“May God be with the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI and Law Enforcement has arrived,” the president tweeted.
However, the latest shooting by a lone gunman — which killed five people and injured 10 more — took place in rural Rancho Tehama, while Sutherland Springs was the location of the church shooting on Nov. 5 where 25 people were gunned down.
