For anyone in the US, Penzeys the infamously anti-Trump spice store is running a deal today and tomorrow (12-13th of December) where everything in the store is 50% off IN store and 25% off online with code: RESIST
I’m not sponsored or affiliated. Just someone who likes Penzeys and am about to restock my entire spice cupboard for considerably less than it would normally cost.

Just Let Me Try
Fandom: Mean Girls (2024)
Pairing: Regina George/Janis Imi'ike
Chapter 16: To Find the Truth
Summary: Janis and her mom have a heart-to-heart, and it's first date time.
“Mom, can I talk to you?” Janis asked hesitantly.
“Sure, honey. What is it?” Janis’ mom, Ailana, responded. She gestured for Janis to join her at their kitchen table.
“I’ve started dating someone,” Janis started.
“Really?” her mom said with some surprise in her voice. “Who is she?”
“So, don’t freak out, but it’s Regina.”
“Excuse me?” Ailana’s freak out was beginning.
“Before you go off, let me explain.” Janis covered her mom’s hands with both of hers. “We’ve been hanging out a lot over these last few months; it started after the whole bus thing. And, I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you, but I kinda wanted to keep it just ours, me and Regina’s. She’s so different now, Mom, and she apologized, like a lot, for what she did.”

One day, I realised all the dumb, selfish things people do... it’s not our fault. No one designed us. We’re just an accident, Harold. We’re just bad code.

I get on Twitter every now and again—Well, not anymore, but I used to—and I would always see this conversation around [...] Beyoncé being like overrated or whatever and I was like wow, people are really just bored.

I learned everyone dies alone. But if you meant something to someone… If you helped someone, or loved someone… If even a single person remembers you, then maybe you never really die. And maybe this isn't the end at all.

Why hit the brakes when you can floor the accelerator?
Hitting the brakes: This is fear (in whatever form), and this leads to regrets.
Flooring the accelerator: This is taking a risk, and it can lead to consequences---which we're all capable of handling. You either crash and burn or you see how you can go. And, at least we had the experience.
Do you want to live with regrets or consequences?
