fellow fansies - I have complied a (hopefully) comprehensive list of cast members for anyone new to the fandom or for those who may like a refresher on the casts. I've not included every single character, just the main ones, so if you'd like a character adding just ask; also if you notice any cast members are missing or have been labelled incorrectly in any way, please let me know, I want this list to be as accurate as possible. characters with a dash (-) for any of the categories I wasn't sure if they were included in that production or not. if you're able to fill in any of the blanks that would be much appreciated. any questions, please let me know <3

Chicago Architectural Club Thompson Center Competition Finalists
Seven finalists have been chosen by the jury for the Thompson Center Design Competition
Winning design will be announced at a pop-up exhibit of the winning and finalists’ designs opening at the CAC on Tuesday, September 14
CHICAGO – The Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) and the Chicago Architectural Club have announced seven finalists for the architectural design competition calling for new, creative visions for the State of Illinois Thompson Center designed by Helmut Jahn, built in 1984 and put up for sale in May 2021. The winning design proposal will be announced Tuesday, September 14 at the opening of a pop-up exhibit featuring the winning and finalists’ designs on view at the CAC through October.
The competition seeks to give the building new life through restorative architecture while preserving its architecture and public character. The competition was open to anyone with a vision for the building including students, architects, designers, planners, and artists. The jury reviewed 59 entries from 5 countries representing work by professional designers and established firms as well as young architects and students.
“The jury’s selection of the seven finalists for the 2021 Chicago Prize Competition provide an impressively diverse set of possible uses for a re-imagined space devoted to Chicago’s civic ideals,” said Elva Rubio, Chicago Architecture Club co-president. “The design proposals turn the space into a new civic center with a state-of-the-art glass façade, a mixed-use development with an open-air park on the ground floor, a new Chicago Public School, a hotel and indoor waterpark, an urban farm, an art and civic culture destination with imaginative spaces suspended in the atrium, and a conical skyscraper skinned as a 3D LED screen.”
The finalists include:
“Offset: The Vertical Loop” is a mixed-use development with a new thermal envelope behind the original curtain wall that is set atop a ground-level remade as a public park within hanging gardens. Each floor is zoned, moving from public at the ground level park to private residences and vegetable gardens nearer the roof. Submitted by Tom Lee and Christopher Eastman of Eastman Lee Architects.
“One Chicago School” is a new prototype public school focused on public policy and civic engagement for students in Chicago to learn, question, and ignite change. Submitted by Jay Longo, James Michaels, Kaitlin Frankforter, Michael Quach, Abaan Zia, Mackenzie Anderson, Nicolas Waidele, Roberta Brucato, Zachary Michaliska of Solomon Cordwell Buenz, Chicago.
“Public Pool” is a hotel in place of offices ringing an indoor waterpark with monumental waterfalls dominating the atrium set in a garden. Submitted by David Rader, Jerry Johnson, Ryan Monteleagre, and Matt Zelensek of Perkins&Will, Chicago.
“Rejuvenation” wraps the existing exterior in a new smart glass” façade using electronically tintable glass controlled by occupants to improve comfort, maximize daylight, and reduce energy costs. Exterior video projections share Chicago civic news and digital arts media. Submitted by Yuqi Shao and Andrew Li, students at the College of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology.
“Ripple” envisions a new sustainable public attraction comprised of auditoriums, art galleries, and community spaces rising within the exterior arc of the current atrium. These new spaces lead to a top-floor urban farm with rooftop green houses that use the existing CTA tracks to distribute the produce from the farm to food deserts around the city. Submitted by Patrick Carata, Simon Cygielski, Sarah Bush, Ilyssa Kaserman, Sean King, Amparito Martinez, Marcin Rysniak, Mica Manaois, Ed Curley, and Cameron Scott of Epstein.
“There’s Something for Everyone” creates an authentic new civic and social space linked to cultural groups across the city. Existing floor plates contain support or “back of house” spaces while the volume of the atrium will house performance stages, cinemas, arts galleries, and rehearsal spaces creating strong ties to the diverse arts and civic life of the City of Chicago. Submitted by Chava Danielson, Eric Haas, Tim Jordan, Bohan Charlie Lang, and Xixi Luo of DSH architecture, Los Angeles.
“Thompson-Scraper“ opens the atrium to the outdoors while wrapping the interior floors above with a façade that becomes a 3D LED matrix able to display images and video. Using the existing elevator banks as a core tube support structure, new floors rise above the existing structure with the familiar step-backs and topped with a conical “spire” also wrapped in 3D LED matrix. Submitted by Wenyi Zhu of Zhu Wenyi Atelier at Tsinghua University, Beijing.
The jurors include international experts in the design of museums and civic spaces, restorative architecture and landscape architecture, historic preservation, civic culture, and the work of Helmut Jahn, architect of the Thompson Center. The jury includes Carol Ross Barney, Founder and Design Principal, Ross Barney Architects, FAIA, HASLA; Michelle T. Boone, President, The Poetry Foundation; Philip Castillo, Executive Vice President, JAHN, FAIA; Peter D. Cook, Design Principal, HGA Architects & Engineers, AIA, NOMA; Thomas Heatherwick, Founder and Design Director, Heatherwick Studio; Mikyoung Kim, Founding Principal, Mikyoung Kim Design; Bonnie McDonald, President & CEO, Landmarks Illinois.
“In reviewing the design proposals and selecting these seven finalists, my fellow jurors and I considered how to ‘crack open’ the ground floor of the Thompson Center and make it breathe life into the streets,” said juror Thomas Heatherwick. “The strongest proposals show how emphasizing the ground experience and creating a dynamism inside the building can become an attractor that brings a new chemistry to the city. There is such a great opportunity here to reimagine a new type of public space and again showcase Chicago as a global hub for top design.”
The sale and possible demolition of the Thompson Center has been controversial among Chicagoans and architecture and design professionals around the world. Despite the toll caused by lack of maintenance, Helmut Jahn’s design of the Thompson Center is prized by the design world as a unique example of post-modern architectural design in a civic building meant to draw citizens into the daily workings of government. The State of Illinois issued a request for proposals for the Thompson Center site in August 2019. On August 17, 2021, the State of Illinois delayed the announcement of the winning bid from January to April 2022, reportedly at the request of developers submitting proposals.
The CAC’s pop-up exhibit featuring the winning and finalists’ designs will join the CAC’s current Helmut Jahn retrospective. Both will be open to the public through October. In July, the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) opened its first, major limited-run exhibit, HELMUT JAHN: LIFE + ARCHITECTURE, the eagerly anticipated career retrospective of Helmut Jahn’s innovative architectural designs. The July 8 announcement of the new exhibit garnered global interest for the pathbreaking architect whose bold building designs can be found in virtually every major metropolis—from his adopted home of Chicago to Bangkok to Berlin to New York to Shanghai to Tokyo—buildings which are all part of Jahn’s enduring legacy. The exhibit, organized after Jahn’s death in May, includes numerous scale models of Jahn’s pathbreaking designs throughout his career and runs through October.

Competition Calling for New, Creative Visions for State of Illinois “Thompson Center” Designed by Helmut Jahn and Now For Sale by State of Illinois
Competition seeks to give State of Illinois Center new life while preserving its architecture and public character; winning design to be announced early August
CHICAGO – The Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) and the Chicago Architectural Club have announced an architectural design competition calling for new, creative visions for the State of Illinois “Thompson” Center designed by Helmut Jahn, built in 1984 and put up for sale in May 2021 by the State of Illinois. The sale and possible demolition of the Thompson Center has been controversial among architecture and design professionals in Chicago and around the world leading to the creation of The James R. Thompson Historical Society that gave public tours of the building. Despite the toll caused by lack of maintenance, Helmut Jahn’s design of the Thompson Center is prized by the design world as a unique example of post-modern architectural design in a civic building meant to draw citizens into the daily workings of government.
From the architecture competition brief:
“The Thompson Center’s design was progressive for its time. Dwelling in the vertical shadows of modern icons like Mies van der Rohe’s Daley Center, Helmut Jahn’s mid-rise Thompson Center pierced the trends of neighboring International Style and Neoclassical buildings with a revolutionary concept for a civic building, one that represents a promising future of ‘transparency and accessibility’.
“Bringing together the various services of government offices in one building, the Thompson Center is also a major transit hub and a place for gathering to enjoy art, shop, and dine. Jahn brings open space indoors with the remarkable glazed 17-story grand atrium. Known as a “people’s center” or a “people’s palace”, the building was a symbol of government accessibility, transparency, and commitment to serving the people. This was a bold departure from how government buildings used to interface with the public.“
The jury to select the winning design submission will be announced later in June 2021.

State of Illinois “James R. Thompson Center”
Designed by Helmut Jahn, the State of Illinois Center, also known as James R. Thompson Center, is facing the threat of complete demolition. Located in the Chicago “Loop” it is a major transportation node, commercial center, and workspace.
The building has been criticized for being ugly, oversized, inefficient, and poorly maintained. However, the Thompson Center has been pivotal to urban transit and a highly democratic contemporary civic center.
At the time of its construction in 1985, Helmut Jahn’s State of Illinois Center was a stark contrast to Chicago’s historic and modernist architecture, yet today it is an architectural icon in its own right. For the fourth year in a row, the Thompson Center has been listed in the Landmarks Illinois’ annual Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois and it was included in Preservation Chicago’s Chicago 7 Most Endangered list in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

This California earthquake swarm lasted 4 years. We may finally know why
With the help of 3D modelling and machine learning, scientists think they’ve solved the mystery of the tiny earthquakes that regularly rumbled under Cahuilla, California from early 2016 to late 2019 – a period of almost four years.
Some sort of natural fluid, such as water or liquid carbon dioxide, is likely to be the culprit: as a new study lays out, it probably breached a barrier in the underground rock, changing the balance of pressure and friction along the fault zone, and leading to a long series of minor tremors.
The techniques deployed here could prove vital in understanding and predicting earthquakes in the future – both major quakes and smaller swarms, such as the one that happened near Cahuilla, and added up to tens of thousands of individual events.
“We used to think of faults more in terms of two dimensions: like giant cracks extending into the earth,” says geophysicist Zachary Ross, from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
“What we’re learning is that you really need to understand the fault in three dimensions to get a clear picture of why earthquake swarms occur.”
Location of Cahuilla swarm. (Adapted from Fig 1., Ross et al., Science, 2020)
Using neural networks - weighted AI models that mimic the human brain in how their nodes or ‘neurons’ interconnect – Ross and his colleagues processed more than 22,000 seismic events, ranging in magnitude from 0.7 to 4.4. The analysis revealed a complex, narrow fault line in 3D, stretching down about 8 kilometres (5 miles).
The model showed the probable presence of an underground reservoir, initially cut off from the fault zone before it leaked through and triggered the tremors. Spotting this was only made possible through the team’s high-resolution modelling.
An illustration of how the fault line might look. (Ross et al., Science, 2020)
“The detail here is incredible,” seismologist Elizabeth Vanacore from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, who wasn’t involved in the research, told Maya Wei-Haas at National Geographic.
“This type of work is cutting edge and really where the science is going.”
Swarms like the one studied here don’t typically include any major quakes. They’re also much less predictable than the big earthquakes, which usually start off with a significant shock that’s then followed by slowly decreasing aftershocks.
What makes this particular swarm interesting is that it lasted so long – almost like a slow-motion swarm. Other swarms can last days, weeks or months. It’s now winding down, the scientists say, possibly because the fluid has hit an impermeable barrier.
The next step is to test the modelling technique on other sites further afield, across southern California and elsewhere – it may be that natural fluid injections are responsible for more earthquake swarms, which seismologists can then test using this technique.
“These observations bring us closer to providing concrete explanations for how and why earthquake swarms start, grow, and terminate,” says Ross.
The research has been published in Science.

Both Sides.
Part 2 - Her side.
word count: 1,948
part one
as always, i didn’t proof read shit
When Maya first heard about this Jubilee series, she thought it was sort of obnoxious. Being someone that doesn’t really open up the way people where on that series, seeing people do it willingly, it wasn’t her thing. There was nothing in her that wanted her to do that, ever, even with liking Josh as much as she did; she never thought it would be cute to be on that thing with him. To share their weird as fuck story once they got together.
Then Zac happened and everything changed. She still had problems opening up in that sort of intimate way, but the idea of sharing the story of how she met Zac, got together with them, feel in love… well it didn’t seem as obnoxious anymore. God, she became this sort of pile of mush around them, they were ruining her and for some bizarre reason she had zero problems with it.
What was your first impression of each other?
A laugh erupted from her, “God. This is going to make me sound so millennial.” Shaking her head, she thought back to the first time she really saw Zac, staring on their brother’s Snap Story. “The first time I ever saw Zac, was on their brother’s Snap Story.” There was no stopping the cringe that ran through her, it sounds even worse being said out loud. “I remember, that like, they were going off on one of their dumb conspiracy theories, all animated and stuff, and I couldn’t help to think it was sort of cute. But mostly I thought he was a giant nerd and there was going to be no way we were ever going to get along.”
She tapped their leg to let them know she was done, smiling at them as they removed the headphones.
“Okay, now you share what you said to each other.”
Maya looked over at the one conducting the interview, letting out a mocked grown. “You mean I have to be mushy with them too?”
She heard a chuckle from Zac, turning to look at him. “I know it must be so hard for you.”
“Excruciating.” She paused. “Okay, well, I told them about when I first saw you on your brother’s SnapChat story.”
Their grin got wide, amusement written all over their face, “Wow, very millennial of you.”
“I know! That’s what I said.” There conjoined laughter filled the small room.
“I just told them that at first I thought you were obnoxious and mean.” That was something she already knew. Once a friendship between the two started to develop, they didn’t hesitate to let her know about the very first impression they ever had of her – and why it even came to be. For effect she faked a gasp, placing a hand over her heart, “I know! And then how when I first saw you you were a lot shorter than I expected.”
“I’m not that short.”
“Mmm, you’re short.”
They were going to regret that statement later.
When was your first date?
Just thinking about it got her to laugh again. It was such a ridiculous thing, the way the first date happened. She loved everything about it.
“It was September 15th in like, 2016?” They’ve been dating for about almost 3 years now, so that would have to be right, “For reasons unknown I agreed to go on this group date thing with this guy from my art class. He was cute so I let it go and decided why not.” A puff of laughter came out of her, “It did not work out. But I did end up running into this guy,” moving her leg out a little, she tapped their ankle with her toes, “and literally seconds after talking I suggested we went to the grocery store across the street. I didn’t even tell the people who I came with that I was leaving, I just left.” The guy came up to her that following Monday to ask her where she went, she wasn’t the kindest when she told him to basically mind his own fucking business. “Well we were there we heard these people talking about some movie in the park thing and decided to go to that, because why not, and when ended up in the very back and just talked the entire night.” A smile wormed itself onto her face, “Don’t tell him, but it was one of the greatest nights of my life.”
As soon as their headset came off, the sides were shared, but mostly it was a rapport between the two.
What do you like the most about each other?
“The moment they open up to someone, truly opened up, it’s one of the most beautiful things. Because most of the time, they’re sort of quiet and reserved, but once they open up they become this big goof. They’ll make weird noises at the most random times, not caring what you’ll think. And the way their face lights up when talking about stuff their passionate about. Like conspiracy theories about the government or about some new book they’re reading. They’re funny. In that way that’s so natural, the things they say are quick witted and just classically hilarious.” She searched their face, smirking, “their looks don’t hurt too much either.”
As soon as it was the time to share both sides, she spit out, “I only talked about the superficial stuff. How you have pretty eyes and a great jaw line.” The rapport continued for a bit before she got soft and told them what she really said.
What about the other person bothers you?
“They are the worst when it comes to physical intimacy. And I mean, I probably would have been too if it wasn’t for my best friend, but God, they are just over dramatic sometimes.” She looked at her boyfriend, shaking her head. “If they don’t initiate it and you go for a hug or something, they’ll get all,” Maya’s who body jerked away, acting as if she was being burned to show just how dramatic Zachary Friar could get about intimacy. They were just a big old baby about it almost all the time. “And their tendency to sometimes live a little bit too much behind their camera than actually living.” But even though that part bothered her, she got it. She knew that it was because of their social anxiety and it helped them even be in large social situations – a lot of the social situations that Maya was in, how they could join her at some of those ridiculous house parties she went too and what have yous.
As soon as they were doing sharing, Maya took the headset off, Zac had no problems opening their mouth. “I knew exactly what one of the things you were talking about was.” Her face broke into a wide grin.
What was your biggest fight?
As soon as she heard the question she understood why their hands were shaking. This was a low point for them, at least in their mind, and talking about it always cause their anxiety to spike. Maya never holds what happened against them but she also learned how their mind works on things like this. There are still days where they’ll have a Bad Moment and they’ll start apologizing to her about this stupid fight all over again. They’re rare, but when the moments happen she usually just takes their hand and lets them say what they need to before giving them a kiss and saying something stupid like “We may have been Long Game, but you’re my end game. You’re my present and future.” And she would see whatever it was that was bothering them slowly wash away. She sounded like a romantic fortune cookie but it helped them so she lived with it.
“I used to have this huge crush on relative of my best friend. He was cute and older and caring and I have this thing for caring people,” she shrugged rolling her eyes, “and, I don’t know, I thought the guy was the greatest thing to walk the earth after my best friend. We even had this thing called The Long Game for a while.” She paused, looking at Zac, just taking them in for a second. “But it really wasn’t meant to be. Yeah, we got a long great and everything but the spark or whatever you want to call it wasn’t really there. But after Zac and me started dating, they’d get um, sort of insecure around me and my old crush together. They had this worry that I was going to figure out that they weren’t actually it for me and I’d go run off into the sunset with the other guy are something. It was definitely a lot of work, to get past it, to show them that I wasn’t interest in the other guy that way. That whatever crush I did have was gone.” Memories flooded about times that she did get frustrated with his insecurities about that, the venting she did to Riley. The one time she freaked herself out when she said something along the lines that maybe Zac wasn’t worth it – on impulse, and the moment the words left her mouth she felt a wave of regret and knew that out of all the trouble and no matter how exhausting it was, Zac Friar would always be worth it.
It was around the same time she knew she was in love with the old Hee Haa.
They looked uncomfortable as they went first this time, “I just, um, talked about when I was annoying and insecure.” Her heart broke a little bit at that. She may have thought it at the time but knowing what she does now about that situation, about why they are insecure, she wished they never felt that way.
But her reply came out as “I said the same,” a laugh followed, “just not in those words.”
What do you love about each other?
She’s already uncomfortable just thinking about sharing this. Even now, almost three years later, Maya still had a hard time telling Zac why she loves them, Riley usually pushes to do it after they have some bay window heart to heart the night before. Luckily they’ve never showed being bothered by that being the way it is. She was always better at showing through physical touch – talking about feelings was only ever not weird for Maya when it was with her best friend and mom.
“They’re too nice.” She forced the words out, “Like, even when they can be rightfully an asshole to someone, they don’t. They always know how to make me feel better, that they never take offense to my sarcasm and humor and just go with it. The moment we started talking it was like that.” There was a pause, her head tilting to the side, “The way they love me, show me how I can be loved, how I should be loved.. I don’t know.” It was at this moment she got to uncomfortable, throwing her arms across her face and slumping in her chair. “That’s it! That’s it, let’s move on.”
As soon as they were to share both sides, just like she said, she was sarcastic and Zac, being the way they were, went along with it. God, her heart fluttered over their stupid Ducktales joke.
As they left, she grabbed their hand and leaned her body against theirs. She knows that from here they’re just going to want to do something lowkey like rewatch Stranger Things or sleep and all she wanted to do is be there with them.
