Random thought: Zi Wei is named after the crape myrtle which bloomed when she was born. She was born in the eighth lunar month which is basically September. Do crape myrtles bloom differently north of me because where I am crape myrtle was in bloom for like four weeks of May and by end of June it's mostly gone.

I mean Zi Wei did say the year she was born, the crape myrtle around her house bloomed unusually late but two months late for such a delicate flower is very unusual.

Basically, this is a metaphor? 😆

My opinion, thoughts, really, are irrelevant whan that is an objective fact. Holodomor was caused by russians setting unreasonably high quotas on Ukrainian farmers, without a doubt intentionally running the nation to the ground with a down-right medieval ass system of what can fairly be called tribunes. Locals had absolutely no grain reserves to plant, because it was seized by russians for themselves - and it happened in Lithuania and Latvia and Belarus too, but the most strongly in Ukraine. russians historically have hated Ukrainians, seeking to conquer and assimilate them. I am certain if you ask from a kind heart you know the history at an at least superficial level.

To ask ''is an act of cruelty commited by someone who has previously shown themselves wishing to be cruel to them, intentional or an accident'' is kindof obvious, but also irrelevant because the outcome was desirable for russians. Dead Ukrainians, empty ukrainian land for them to move into. It was a genocide, only one of the multiple that russians have wrought in Eurasia.
