Teen Wolf Ship of the Day, January 12th
Tumblr media
Lydia Martin x Kira Yukimura
There's so much that they could be grateful for and each other is high up on the list. Each other and the freedom to be with each other and their loving pack. Their pack was also high up on the list.
Headcanons under the cut
Kira is the big spoon and Lydia is the little spoon
They are both very outdoorsy people when they want to be and so they'll go to the beach often and flower picking when it's flower season
Lydia is a bath kind of person and she loves bath bombs and bubbles, Kira will usually leave her alone when she's taking a relaxing bath and may check in to see if Lydia needs something
They absolutely have cheesy pet names for each other, including but not limited to, bunny, sweetheart, pumpkin, daisy, love, booboo, princess
Kira loves to find things in the outdoors the remind her of Lydia, she'll bring home heart shaped rocks or sticks that remind her of her partner, leaves and flowers and pictures of cool trees, all of it reminds her of her girlfriend
Lydia loves to curl up on the couch with her feet shoved under a blanket while she studies
Kira loves to cook for Lydia but it always makes the kitchen so messy so they cook and clean together to try and minimize the mess
Every morning when they wake up Kira gives Lydia a little tiny electric shock from the built up static electricity while they sleep, she has been trying to find a way to avoid it but it doesn't hurt Lydia and she finds it really cute

Babysitting Warlords and the Littlest Princess (Part 3)
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
From a collection event where Mai gets turned into a child.
---
After Mai vanished from the meeting hall, the warlords split up to search the castle. Kanetsugu and Keiji made their way to the kitchens.
Keiji: Is she going to be here?
Kanetsugu: Children are easily attracted to the smell of food. Kanetsugu: She left in the middle of dinner last night. If she's feeling hungry, she'll probably be led here.
Keiji: It can't be that ea... Wait, that's her!
As Kanetsugu predicted, Mai was standing in the kitchens. And she was reaching a little hand towards the lit coal stove...
Keiji: Hey!!
Mai: !?
Keiji grabbed Mai just before she made contact with the stove. The two of them quickly carried Mai, who had frozen in surprise, out of the kitchen.
Keiji: What were you doing? That was really dangerous.
Mai: Sorry... I'm sorry. It smelled so good...
Afraid that he was angry at her, Mai looked down at the floor. Kanetsugu sighed, and pulled a small pouch from his sleeve.
Kanetsugu: Have some of this. It will tide you over until dinner.
Mai: Steamed buns!
Keiji: Hold up, why are you carrying manjuu around anyway?
Kanetsugu: Lord Shingen asked me to buy some for him while keeping it a secret from Yukimura.
Mai happily began to nibble on a manjuu. Seeing as she seemed to have calmed down, Keiji and Kanetsugu exchanged a look of relief.
Keiji: Why don't we head out to shop for snacks? Seems to keep her under control.
Kanetsugu: That's a terrible idea. What if she gets lost?
Keiji: Aw, come on, there's two of us to watch her. It's not like she's going to just vanish-- Keiji: Wait, where'd she go!?
Kanetsugu: You just had to say something... Let's go, she can't be far.
After the two of them had left, Mai peeked out from behind a pillar, looking around.
Mai: Hmm? They're gone...? The butterfly is also gone... Mai: ...I want more snacks...
Looking out at the gardens plaintively, Mai suddenly remembered something.
Mai: Shopping, snacks!
Recalling Keiji's words, Mai began running, until...
Hideyoshi: Found you.

A heartfelt surprise.(1/2)
birthday special. Pt.1
Tumblr media
Dawn began approaching, becoming more apparent by the orange tainted sky engulfing the blue horizon, a clear distinction for the end of the night and the beginning of a brand new day in Kai. The air was chilly as snow began falling, creating a beautiful white cover on top of the garden, usually colorful with flowers, was now colorlessly icy. Fast footsteps approached the kitchen, small legs carrying the excitement of the twins, the moment they slid the door open, a sweet scent took over and guided them to…
“Children? You two have never woken up this early before. Are you that excited for today?” I was in the middle of my attempt, attempt, to make a birthday cake for the love of my life, who should still be asleep in bed.
Tugging at the hem of my kimono, both twins were looking with bright eyes at what I was making. On one side, a boy that took after my hair color and eyes, yet had the same face as his father, Oujiro. The most energetic and playful soul in Tsutsujigasake castle. On the other side, a girl that took after Shingen’s hair color and grey eyes, as adorable as she was charming and charismatic, Himeko.
“Mama, you said that today is a very special day for papa, we have to start celebrating now!” Oujiro must have woken up his sister early today just to start celebrating their father’s birthday, it surprises me that she isn’t grumpy.
“I did, and you two have a very important role for today. But you two must be very sneaky, just like Sasuke is.” For the moment, I put aside the cooking tools, having them tugging at my clothes would only end in disaster while trying to cook.
“See? I told you we shouldn’t have ran! What if dad woke up?” Himeko shot a glare at Oujiro, a small pout on her face. It was at times like these that I wish I could pinch their faces, but for now, stop the conflict, Selena!
“Alright, no need to be angry. I am sure your father won’t wake up yet, after all he hasn’t come looking for us.” Although even if shingen did suspect of our surprise, I doubt that he would want to ruin it, just to consider our feelings. “Your uncles will be helping you with your task, but you must work together to make your father extra happy.”
With a proud grin, Oujiro puts his hands on his waist while stuffing his chest “I will make sure everything is perfect, mama! I won’t let uncle kenshin make trouble this time.” He looked so determined that i couldn’t help but smile, last year we almost couldn’t hold a party because of kenshin wanting to spar with Shingen every time he said anything about the presents, all while saying that his present was the end of his sword.
Luckily, he wouldn’t do anything dangerous knowing that there are children around, Kenshin has gotten better in dealing with kids ever since the twins were born, so he was more careful now.
Himeko crosses her arms while smiling, a motivated expression on her face “You are too slow, I have made a list on everything that dad will like!”
“Well, look at you two multitaskers! I guess i don’t have anything to worry about anything this year! Just remember, anything that might be too difficult or dangerous to do, you two should ask your uncles’ assistance with.” Just in case, I asked Sasuke and Yukimura to keep a constant eye on them. While the children were determined, they also thought they could do certain things alone, it would be better to have more than one adult to ensure they don’t do anything they shouldn’t do.
“Okay!” Both seemed very excited to plan their father’s birthday, I wanted to let them feel included during the planning this year so that they weren’t left out, I could see how eager they were to surprise shingen.
While the children talked about what they needed to do for the banquet that night, I shifted my gaze towards what I was baking, feeling a bit lost. It’s not that it’s impossible to bake a cake, but it was very difficult without the convenience and proper materials. I was trying to come up with a different idea, but that was not going how I wanted.
Once the sun lighted up all the sky, It was certain that Shingen would be up and looking around for us, and i can’t let him see the preparations. The plan was, after baking something (at this point it didn’t even need to be a cake) and then take him for a date in town. While we are out, the others will prepare everything so that we would come back for a whole party waiting for shingen. Maybe… i could stack dangos in a pyramid or… maybe manju? It technically is a small cake, i could stack them together to make up for the lack of a proper modern cake.
I had already baked all his favorites, dango, chestnut buns, sweet bean paste, sweet gelatin… maybe tons of manju built up in a tower should do.
—————
By the time I was done, the children had already taken a few sweets under the guise of just taste testing and ran out of the kitchen to go distract shingen from coming in the kitchen in case he was already up. Meaning that I need to have the maids take care of the sweets while I go and change, he would obviously be able to tell that I was cooking for his party. I carefully sneaked out of the kitchen, making my way through the corridors until I could reach the bathhouse. For my luck, I didn’t stumble into shingen on my way there.
The moment I was out of the bathhouse, however…
I felt two, strong arms pulling me against a wall— I mean, chest. Even though I was surprised, there was no denying who it was, my arms wrapped around his torso as tightly as possible. I had had trouble waking up way earlier than him just so that i could start baking his sweets, his arms are just too comfortable to move away from.
“I have been looking for you, my sneaky goddess.” His voice was warm and filled me with joy just from being near him. “My arms became cold without you there, i thought my heart was going to freeze in this snowy weather.”
“You exaggerate, though it was pretty difficult leaving your side…” just the possibility of burying my face against his chest while snuggling gave me all the energy I needed and made waking up early worth it.
“I saw the children running around the hallways, but they wouldn’t tell me what they were doing. Am I to believe that I should expect something today?” That smile he gave me made me want to give it all away to him.
Aha! I know that look, he was trying to charm his way into finding out our plans. Well, two can play this game. “I don’t know, maybe they are excited that their uncles are visiting.” I gave him my best mischievous grin, over time I had started joining him in these games of teasing that he would start.
“Is that so? Yuki does enjoy playing with them.” In our hug, his face began getting closer to my neck, my body shivered when I felt his breath against my shoulder. His lips were only grazing at my skin yet it pulled quite the reaction from me. “Hmm… chestnut buns, I knew there was a sweet scent in the air.”
Eh? How did he even figure that out? I made sure to take a long bath just so that no sweet scent lingered on me… was he just that good at guessing? It was hard to concentrate and think when he was giving soft kisses over my neck now. They weren’t intense enough to leave a love mark, but i could feel the lingering warmth there. No, maybe another trick? Well, i wouldn’t let myself fall for it.
“Looks like someone is hungry, did you eat your breakfast already? You shouldn’t have any buns unless you want to get scolded by Yukimura.” I hoped that i could distract him from finding out what I did, at least until the banquet for that night.
“As long as I have my angel of luck with me, yuki won’t be finding out.” Before he could deepen his kisses over my neck, we both heard someone clearing their throat from behind shingen.
“I won’t be finding out about what?” Yukimura was tapping his foot as if to show his impatience. “Just how many times have I told you two to go find a room instead of doing this in the middle of the hallway?”
It was during times like these that i would both be grateful and want to strangle Yukimura, for one he was able to interrupt before things escalated and all of our plans were threw out the window, but at the same time I was enjoying those kisses…
“Yuki… you really know how to ruin a man’s pleasure.” A bit dejected but with a smile on his face, shingen pulled away, keeping only one arm around my waist as he turned around to look at his vassal.
I knew that this was Yukimura’s way of reminding me of our plans, which is why I needed to focus more. First, I have to take him out of the castle for a date.
“Now that you mention, it would be nice if we could go out on a date! With work, it has been impossible for us to go out.” I looked at Shingen excitedly, this was also the perfect opportunity for us to have some privacy.
“A date sounds just perfect for the today, though I worry about not taking the children.” He is the sweetest, almost all of our dates to town, we would make sure to take the twins together, making it a big family outing.
“Do you guys not understand the concept of ‘get a room’? You are just going to a more exposed place…. Don’t worry, we can look after them, it has been a while since I spent time with the twins. I heard that Yoshimoto also has some souvenirs for them” Yukimura spoke with a smile when mentioning Oujiro and Himeko. Great, Yukimura was doing just as we planned, today it was just me and shingen for the this date and then the children would be able the surprise him with the party.
“How considerate of you, Yuki. I can’t turn this opportunity to have my celestial maiden all to myself.” He moved closer so that his lips were closer to my ear, his voice lower. “That means i won’t need to hold back on flirting.”
“Shingen! Alright, l-let’s go get ready for our date before Yukimura scold us more.” I giggled with a blush forming on my cheeks, gently pushing him away with me so that we could go to our room.
—————
Once we both were finally ready, we were set to leave for our date, though we had to get dressed separately just so that no “change of plans” occurred. He was dressed up before I was, I took a bit longer because I wanted to try a new kimono that I requested from the seamstress, I wanted something special for Shingen’s birthday after all. Once I met up with him at the entrance of the castle, he froze immediately upon looking at me.
“I must be envied by all men in this world, for I have witnessed a goddess descending I front of me.” He walked closer, making me feel a bit bashful at his sweet words.
“Let them be jealous, then. Because this goddess is taking you to a special date.” I quickly took his hand, gently tugging on it so that we could walk together.
“How lucky I am to have a goddess accompanying me, I should make every moment of this worthwhile.” His large hand engulfed mine in his, making me feel warm all over with just that physical contact. Something told me that our date promised a lot of fun!
—————
Meanwhile, as the two figures walked out for their date in town, the castle could finally start the preparations without worrying about shingen finding out, maids and vassals were running around the halls while receiving the orders from the main organizers of the party… the twins.
“Do you think they can handle this part? It isn’t too difficult but they might feel overwhelmed.” Sasuke said while looking at Oujiro and Himeko, who were checking and then double checking the list the little girl was holding. Sasuke was in charge of ensuring that the castle would be safe and properly guarded while everyone celebrated Shingen’s birthday.
“If they take after their parents, I think both are more than capable.” Yukimura seemed more confident about the kids’ abilities. He was in charge of carrying heavy weight objects that the twins couldn’t possibly carry and setting them up in the room for the banquet.
“Selena did say that they have been getting more responsible lately, perhaps that’s what happens when you are one of Shingen’s children.” Yoshimoto fanned himself lightly while taking a break, he was mostly in charge of the decoration according to Himeko, who asked for his assistance in making the room the party would take place beautiful.
“It isn’t just because of shingen, if it wasn’t for that woman, that idiot would still be a mess.” Kenshin drank tea from his cup, which he had to choose instead of sake considering that the twins were nearby. He was in charge of providing more food for the banquet and the best drinks (of course, the children would be only allowed tea or water).
Each warlord received orders from the twins on what they should do, to which they all complied. Seeing the twins growing up to be so similar to their parents spread a warm, mutual feeling among the warlords, a certainty that their future was bright.
To be continued…

Thirteen Truths (and a Lie)
Stiles Summer Stories 2024
Stiles yawned and folded his arms on the kitchen isle, resting his cheek on his folded arms and getting more comfortable. The others were droning on about something but Stiles couldn't find the energy to concentrate. He'd spent the past twenty hours on a research binge, he was sleepy.
"You should pay attention, Stiles," Derek frowned at him, looking somewhat concerned.
"Seelie Court etiquette, dos and don'ts with fae folk," Stiles mumbled, waving a dismissive hand. "I spent the past day studying up on it, I don't need the Alpha lecture – even though I'm sure Peter is doing a wonderful job explaining it to you guys. Go, Peter."
He gave the Alpha a playful thumbs-up and Peter rolled his eyes at him, though the man couldn't fight the small, bemused smile. He stood together with Chris in front of the kitchen isle. The rest of the pack was gathered in a circle around them, more or less. Erica was sitting on Boyd's lap on the couch, with Isaac sitting next to them, talking to Erica. Jackson and Lydia were sharing the love-seat, Lydia on his lap and a heavy book on the armrest next to them as she scanned through it while carding her fingers through her mate's hair, soothing Jackson (which was always a good thing to do during a pack meeting to keep him and Scott from going for each other's throats). Scott, Allison, Kira and Malia were sharing the other couch and oh god why was Stiles in a pack with so many happy couples, that was just disgusting. Kira was braiding Malia's hair. Why were they so cute.
Stiles' eyes found Derek, Cora and Isaac on instinct, seeking the companionship from the other singles in their paired-up pack. Cora offered him a grin and an exasperated eye-roll motioning at Scott and Allison while making gagging motions, which only made Stiles snicker.
Peter cleared his throat, raising his eyebrows at Stiles in a pointed manner. "As I was saying, we have to decide how we approach the Seelie Court."
Stiles just offered his Alpha a tired, shit-eating grin. Man, he'd never thought Peter would grow into being a good Alpha. But being brought back from dead had really helped the man. And he loved this pack so fiercely, with the fierceness of a man who had already lost one pack. So when the Alpha Pack had invaded their territory and when the Darach had poisoned Cora, forcing Derek to give up his Alpha Spark to heal his sister, Peter had gone ahead and killed one of those 'spare Alphas running around' (Peter's words. That man was horrible. Why was Stiles so deeply in love with him), making him the new Alpha of the Hale Pack. They'd rebuilt, together. Well, until the next big bad hit them. Stiles' breath hitched at the reminder of the Nogitsune and even without meaning to, he started pressing his thumbs against the pads of his fingers, counting them.
"Stiles?" Derek's voice grew softer as he watched the movement.
Startled, Stiles sat up when he noticed the whole room had fallen silent, everyone staring at him. Everyone watching his finger-counting. Damn it. He hated worrying them. He forced a smile.
"I'm fine, just didn't sleep," Stiles shrugged.
Which wasn't even a lie. Neither of that was. He was fine – his new normal, his new definition of fine, because he would never be 'fine' again, he knew that, it had settled deeply in his bones. He was as fine as he would ever be. Stretching long and cracking his back, he decided to focus on the pack-meeting after all. Better than to let his mind drift to dark places. It tended to do that, especially when he was on too little sleep, which he evidently was today.
"There isn't really much to consider," Lydia picked the previous conversation up again. "When negotiating with the fae, it's important to have one vocal point, particularly to avoid missteps. The chances of someone in this pack speaking out of terms and insulting the fae, or worse even, accepting something from the fae that will be taken as a bargain, is too high."
"Why—y is everyone looking at me?" Scott frowned. "Jackson insults more people than me."
"That's true," Jackson shrugged. "But you would just accept shit from them, McCall."
"Don't fight," Stiles growled annoyed, pinning both betas with a look. "Focus."
Both Chris and Peter regarded him with heavy eyes and Stiles avoided them both, instead turning his attention to the coffee maker to get something to keep him awake. He hated the way they'd look at him whenever he accidentally Pack Mom-ed a little too obviously. It made something anxious twist in his gut, making him wonder if they knew. It was probably wrong of him to 'secretly' be Pack Mom, without actually clearing that with the Alpha and the Alpha Mate, but… But then there were enough things kept between them so he didn't feel overly guilty for it. With a near vindictive energy did he pour himself a coffee before returning to the counter.
"I'll talk to the Seelie Queen," Stiles declared simply.
"Excuse you," Peter huffed out a near amused laugh. "Who's the Alpha."
Peter flashed those pretty, pretty red eyes at him. It was cute how Peter thought that'd get him Stiles' submission. Instead, Stiles simply rolled his own eyes and emptied the cup of coffee in one go, causing Isaac to make gagging sounds and Boyd to make a concerned noise.
"Who's the Emissary of this pack," Stiles countered, raising both eyebrows at Peter. "That's literally in my job description. I represent the pack in diplomatic missions and speak on the pack's behalf. Don't think it can get more diplomatic than a visit at the Seelie Court. Besides, with all due respect oh great Alpha, you tend to get… violent… when your pack is threatened."
"So," Peter narrowed his eyes at Stiles, demanding more.
"There's no way we won't get threatened there," Stiles blinked at him amused. "Seelies play games and they threaten with honey-sweetened words. The last thing we need is for you to take a threat a bit too personal and threaten them back, because we'd be in their realm. They'd not only have the home advantage, we'd be stuck in a whole different realm, Peter. You're good with words, you got a sharp tongue, but so do I. I know how to deal with this. I spent all of yesterday preparing for it."
"He's not wrong, dad," Malia offered with a shrug. "Stiles has a sharper tongue than you."
"From my own daughter," Peter muttered beneath his breath.
"He is the best pick, from a standpoint of his role in the pack," Lydia added. "I would have tossed my own hat in the ring, or even Kira's – kitsune are trickster spirits, so there might be a certain sense of kinship that the Seelies might feel toward her – but as Emissary, Stiles is best suited."
Kira ducked her head. "I would really rather not do a job that requires me to speak sharp and precise. I am more prone to word-vomit and I don't see that going over well."
Malia interlaced her fingers with Kira's and pulled her close enough to kiss. "I like your word-vomits, they're cute. But yeah maybe not vomit all over the Seelie Court."
"Are you sure, Stiles?" Derek frowned at him again.
"You are so way over-protective, dude," Stiles rolled his eyes.
"Don't call me 'dude'," Derek growled annoyed. "And I'm serious."
"So am I," Stiles raised both eyebrows at the former Alpha. "I mean, shit, I'm already best suited from an introductory perspective. It's rude not to answer when asked something and they will ask for our names first. Names hold power. If you give a fae folk your name, they have control over you, but if you just don't answer, you insult them. I'm the only one who can truthfully answer without giving my actual name, because I don't go by my actual name."
"Huh," Erica blinked a couple of times. "Didn't even consider that."
A broad, shit-eating grin spread over Stiles lips. "I was made for this one. Besides! No mortal danger! I mean, you know, not from attacks. Mortal danger from linguistic missteps, but I'm eloquent enough to fight that battle. This one? This one's for me."
His grin turned a little more wicked and Peter flashed his eyes red for a moment in a way that Stiles couldn't quite explain. But what he said was true. Ever since the Seelie Court had moved into Beacon Hills a few days ago, and people started disappearing, Stiles had mentally prepared himself for this. He was uniquely suited to take care of this problem.
"We're all going," Chris declared in a very final Alpha Mate voice. "We won't let you walk into a foreign magical realm on your own, Stiles. But nobody aside from Stiles will speak with the fae or make contact with them. You will not be provoked and you will not provoke. Am I clear?"
The betas all ducked their heads and nodded to varying degrees. Stiles' grin turned a little more soft at the trust from his Alphas, even as it made his heart feel uncomfortably heavy.
/break\
The fourteen of them walked deep into the preserve together the next day. No unnecessary accessories – jackets, scarves, jewelry – nothing that could be snatched or bargained. Nobody was to wander off and, as Chris had declared yesterday, nobody was to speak to the Seelies aside from Stiles. His heart was jackrabbiting in his chest. Peter rested a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"You can do this," Peter whispered in a warm voice. "I know that."
The confidence only made Stiles' heart beat even faster. He nodded sharply as he lead the pack toward the pond deep in the woods. Oh, he really hoped this was going to work. It'd be so much easier with magic, but—He shook his head sharply, he couldn't think about that right now.
"This is a powerful portal," Stiles motioned at the mushrooms growing around the pond. "Water is a bridge between realms already but this pond was turned into a fairy circle too. Do not get lost. I'll go in first, we will all hold hands, there will be no complaints."
His hand slipped into Peter's, who in turn took Chris', Chris holding Allison's, Allison holding Scott's, behind Scott came Isaac, Erica, Boyd, Derek, Cora, Malia, Kira, Lydia, Jackson. One by one, they stepped through the bond, falling through the sky and landing in a true fairy tale kingdom. Everything was a purple blue haze, beautiful. Glowing fireflies in blue and pink flying all around them, butterflies larger than normal circled them. Flowers and tall trees everywhere.
"This is stunning," Kira whispered in awe.
"Do not, under any circumstances, touch anything," Stiles reminded her in a steely voice. "Regardless of how beautiful and harmless it looks. Everything here is deadly."
The kitsune nodded sharply, holding a little tighter onto Malia and Lydia. No one had let go yet. Good. Safer that way, at least until they'd reach the Seelie Court. Stiles' eyes were hard as he regarded them all, counting his pack-members just to make sure they were all there.
"How do we find the Seelie Court?" Scott asked, looking around. "This seems… big…"
"He has a point," Jackson conceded. "I can't see a real path anywhere either."
Stiles smirked at the betas, before tilting his head back and calling out loudly. "In the name of the Nemeton of Beacon Hills, I evoke the Spark's right of an audience with the Seelie Queen."
"What," Peter's eyes were wide in surprise.
It made Stiles laugh and turn toward the stunned pack. "I told you, I am uniquely suited for this job. The Nemeton is what invited the fae folk. As its chosen guardian, I have the right of an audience and can not be harmed until I am before the queen."
"Aren't you full of surprises, little Spark," Peter's eyes danced with something that Stiles couldn't name, before he frowned. "Though I do not appreciate the half-truths. You could have told us."
"Eh, where's the fun in that," Stiles laughed and turned back again.
His laughter died when two Seelie Knights approached them, wearing armor of hardened leafs and bark, adored with gold and gemstones. Their long hair was braided and decorated with poison ivy. They were easily the most beautiful creatures Stiles had ever seen, though he couldn't tell if they were men, women or neither. He just knew he was enchanted. His grip tightened.
"Do not let go until we're at the court," Stiles instructed the pack sharply.
"Spark," one of the knights greeted him, both of them bowing deep. "Our queen is delighted to receive you. If you would follow us, alone, we will bring you."
Stiles returned the bow and spoke while still bent down. "I thank your queen for her hospitality, however, where I go, my pack goes. As she surely can understand, for she would not receive me without her trusted knights present either."
The Seelie Knights exchanged a look, but in the end, they gave a reluctant nod and led the way. They walked through the forest and it felt as though the trees were bending their way, forming arcs for them to walk beneath. It was truly stunning. Until they reached the Seelie Court. Like a naturally occurring amphitheater, in a strange way. The stones and Earth seemed like they had formed the rounded shape all on their own, it was beautiful. The trees above them bore pink flowers, their petals raining down on everything ever so softly. Stiles could imagine being here forever.
At the center of the amphitheater stood a tree stump, the bark rising higher in the back, making it look like a throne. On the throne sat the most breathtaking woman Stiles had ever seen, her dress practically see-through in soft green, with flowers growing around it. Her hair was snow-white, her skin pale and adored with silver freckles like stars. Her eyes sharp and unnaturally green.
Stiles let go of Peter's hand to go down on one knee, bowing to her. The Alpha caught on and followed his example, and so did the rest of the pack after a moment. The knights walked to stand on either side of their queen, who made a delighted noise.
"I am Queen Faerynna of the Seelie Court and I am overjoyed to welcome a Spark in my realm."
"You are too kind, your highness. Your hospitality flatters me," Stiles remained kneeling.
"Rise, and tell me who you are," the queen instructed him.
"I am Stiles, Spark of Beacon Hills and Emissary of our local pack," Stiles said, motioning behind himself. "This is my pack and we thank you for your time."
He could hear one of them – Scott? Isaac? – gasp loudly now that everyone stood again. Stiles didn't turn away from the queen, but he still checked from the corner of his eyes. Ah. Humans, the missing people they were looking for. Dancing with bleeding feed, crying without noise.
"Do you like them?" Queen Faerynna asked excitedly. "They are new! They entertain me!"
Stiles instinctively reached out behind himself to grab Scott's wrist without having to look. He always knew where his betas were, Pack Mom instincts were great. Holding tight, he stopped Scott and jerked him back, giving a light shove and hoping the rest of the pack would catch on and help him keep a lid on this. He loved Scott dearly, but the guy's mortals often got the better of him. He wanted to help the people right now, but they couldn't. It'd incite the queen's wrath.
"They seem like… dull entertainment to me," Stiles offered after a moment. "Not worthy of a queen as beautiful and powerful as yourself, your highness."
The queen looked pleased and intrigued by this, leaning back in her throne. "What do you want."
"Their freedom, and ideally that you leave our territory," Stiles offered bluntly.
"And what do you offer in return?" Queen Faerynna's eyes sparkled eagerly.
"What is it you would want, in return for this," Stiles asked instead of offering anything.
"Mh…" Queen Faerynna's brows furrowed thoughtfully. "You want to take my entertainment away and you claim it isn't worthy of a queen like me, so… If you can entertain me better than they, I will grant your request. They can go and I will bind my realm to another place."
Stiles took a moment to consider. "What… kind of entertainment would you wish for, my queen? I assure you, I am not a graceful dancer, I doubt I would be able to entertain you with dance."
She laughed lightly and shook her head. "Play a game with me and if you play, I let them go."
Adjusting his stance, Stiles tilted his head. "Neither me nor my pack will die or be harmed in this game? And you will let us go too, when the game ends?"
"No physical harm will come to either of you."
"No harm at all will come to them," Stiles argued sharply.
The queen looked even more delighted at that. "No harm at all will come to your pack, if you play."
"And you will keep your end of the bargain regardless of how the game ends?" Stiles asked warily. "Not just in case I win, but also in case I lose."
"Oh, you will lose," Queen Faerynna pursed her lips amused. "But yes. As long as you play, start to finish, I will let you, your companions and the drool little dancers leave my realm."
"We have a deal," Stiles declared, followed by gasps from his pack.
No bargains with the fae. Well, no ill-advised bargains with the fae. He was content with these terms they had set and he knew they would not get rid of the Seelie Court without giving something. He whirled around when there were outcries from his pack. Vines shot from the ground, curling around them from the ankles up to the necks, keeping them all individually rooted to the spot. Blood-red roses sprouted on the vines as they tied the pack up.
"You promised no harm-" Stiles growled dangerously.
"They are not harmed," the queen stated matter-of-factly. "And as long as you play, they will not be harmed. See the thorns as… incentive for you to play along, young Spark."
A vicious snarl formed on his face as he saw the fearful look on Lydia's face, the concern on Chris', the panic on Isaac's. He whirled around, facing the queen again. So he wouldn't have to look at his pack, not feel guilty about the situation he'd gotten them into.
"I'm going to play your game," Stiles muttered, displeased. "Tell me the rules."
"It's simple," Faerynna smiled at him lightly. "I will ask you thirteen questions, one for each member of your pack, and with every hard truth you will reveal to me, to this court, and to your pack, I will release one of your pack-mates. You can, of course, end the game any time by refusing to answer me, but then I will keep every remaining pack-member I still have."
Her eyes were sharp and so were her teeth as she smiled even broader. He froze at the spot, his heartbeat skyrocketing as his eyes widened and his palms started sweating.
"What," Stiles forced the word out. "H… How is that entertaining for you."
He had genuinely considered chess or something along those lines. A game of wits and wisdom, worthy or a millennia old fae. Not this. The queen laughed, her smile growing more vicious.
"You have a sharp, silver tongue, young Spark," the queen pointed out. "You have mastered the art of lying to werewolves. That fascinates me and I think it would be greatly entertaining to see you stripped of your armor and forced to tell your truths."
"Stiles, listen to me," Lydia spoke gently. "It's going to be okay. Whatever you say, none of us will hold it against you. We know you're doing this to save us."
"What do you mean?" Scott sounded confused.
"Sometimes, we tell lies because truths hurt, even those close to us," Peter's voice was filled with bitterness. "Whatever the queen wants to pull out of Stiles, she does so to hurt him."
"Which means that these are things he chose not to tell us," Chris continued. "And that's his right. Everyone has a right to their secrets. So what Lydia means is that we will not hold those secrets against him, whatever they are, even if they hurt us."
"Especially if they hurt us," Peter corrected his mate. "Because it's most likely that that's why Stiles decided to keep them secrets, to not hurt us."
Stiles quirked his lips into a bitter smile at that. Wouldn't Peter know about secrets, mh. Still, the reassurance from his pack somewhat eased the queasy feeling in his stomach. He took a breath at the soft, understanding 'oh' from Scott. Okay. He could do that. Telling the truth.
"Bit rusty, but sure, let's give it a try," Stiles muttered beneath his breath before straightening to his full height, holding his head high too, not cowering before her. "I'm ready for your game."
There was a pause in everyone as the game was about to start. The pack, Stiles, the queen, even the knights. No, everything. Stiles noted the way the falling petals were suspended in the air for a moment. The binding magic of a fae contract was kicking in. And then everything came back to life.
"How can there be a Spark, in a territory where the local Nemeton has been cut down?"
Stiles tilted his head, furrowing his brows. That wasn't what he had expected. He turned to look back at his pack, all thirteen of them wrapped up in vines, thorns digging into their clothes. Blood-red roses adoring the vines. Some of them – Malia, Jackson, Derek and Scott – struggling more, like they could break free if they only tried hard enough. Others like Lydia, Kira, Peter and Chris knew better, stood relaxed, knowing that the vines would only tighten if they struggled.
"You can't ask questions that we don't know the answers to. That's cheating," Chris declared.
The hunter stared at the queen with steely, cold eyes, making Stiles shudder. The glare seemed nearly protective and Stiles felt warmth fill his belly at that thought. He knew it wasn't, but still.
"That's what makes it a hard truth," Queen Faerynna smiled bemused. "Because he knows the answer. He knows the answer but hasn't even told his pack. Delightful."
"Because it's mine," Stiles growled, keeping his head high.
"Not anymore," Queen Faerynna looked gleeful. "Unless you are fine with leaving this court without your friends… I wouldn't mind keeping them for my entertainment."
She curled her fingers together and the vines tightened around the pack. Stiles glared frustrated.
"The Nemeton only plants the Spark. But there have always been three parties. The Nemeton, the Spark, the pack," Stiles answered, raising his head, trying to look down on the queen. "The Hales just stopped looking for a Spark. I'm fairly sure there's always been a Spark, but the Spark has been forgotten by the pack. They thought there couldn't be one without the Nemeton. But the Nemeton still planted the Spark. It takes the pack to ignite a Spark. I only got access to my magic after I joined the Hale Pack, the first time I used my magic was to protect my pack, at the rave."
He could hear the confused noises, saw the looks his pack exchanged at that. Could see the questions in their eyes. His stomach felt like it was filling with lead, even as the roses around Isaac turned from their blood-red color into a pure white and the vines let go, leaving Isaac confused, stumbling forward and instinctively closer to Stiles. Stiles' own instincts told him to put himself between his pup and the threat. The queen. So he pushed in front of Isaac.
"And why is that a secret?" Queen Faerynna asked. "Why not tell your pack?"
The delightful grin on her lips told him that she already knew. His pulse was picking up, he balled fists at the sides of his body, feeling tense and nervous. He didn't like where this game was going.
"Stiles," Peter growled. "Answer her question."
And not just because the pack was in danger. But because the Alpha was angry. He could hear it in Peter's growl. The master manipulator and hoarder of information hated not knowing. This was knowledge regarding his pack that had been deliberately kept from him by his Emissary.
"Because you already lost enough," Stiles forced out, turning to look at Peter, Derek and Cora. "You were already blaming yourself for the loss of your family. You didn't need to know that your family could have lived if the pack had kept looking for Sparks, if instead of the unreliable, weak druid, Talia would have had a Spark as her Emissary. I didn't want you to feel like there was something else you could have done to prevent what happened, not when the past is… in the past."
He pressed his lips together and looked away from the Hales. There was no changing the past and yet this was a fact. If the Hale Pack hadn't stopped looking for Sparks, had kept looking for them, they would have had Sparks as Emissaries for the past seventy years. Whoever had been the Spark before Stiles, they would have been at Talia's side, they could have protected the pack.
"Stiles…" Peter's voice softened. "That wasn't your burden to carry."
"It was," Stiles straightened his posture again, bracing himself for what would come after this. "I am your Emissary. Protecting this pack is my job. Even from emotional pain, Peter."
He chanced a glance at the Hales, seeing pain and pity in their eyes, even as the roses around Cora turned lily white and the vines fell off of her. She came to join Isaac in standing behind Stiles. He took a step forward, away from them. He didn't want comfort or support, because it would just make him more aware of the audience he had. If he had to give eleven more truths, he needed to compartmentalize. Lock away his own feelings in regard to this and focus on the task.
"Your job, mh," a bemused smile played on the queen's face. "What is your job in this pack?"
"I'm the Emissary of the pack," Stiles replied with narrowed eyes.
"Half-truth," Queen Faerynna chimed, shaking her head in disapproval. "Don't make me hurt them. You know exactly what I am talking about. What's your job in this pack, that you're hiding?"
"I'm…" Stiles' voice shook a little and he swallowed hard. "Pack Mom."
Noises of confusion came from behind him, startled gasps. He tried tuning them out, because he knew he wasn't done answering. She required elaborate answers. Painful answers.
"I've been Pack Mom since I joined this pack, back when Derek was still the Alpha," Stiles continued, focusing only on the queen. "I take care of my pack. I used my magic for the first time so I could protect my pups. I protected them from the kanima, at the rave. Put myself between them and the threat. Would do it again every day. Am doing it right now."
He squared up just a little, glaring at the queen and drawing emphasis to the fact that he did stand between her and Isaac and Cora. The two betas made curious noises at that. The queen laughed. Someone else was freed and moments later, he felt Derek's hand on his shoulder. He turned, just a little, looking at the former Alpha, seeing the wondrous look in Derek's eyes.
"I protected Boyd and Erica in the basement. I made them return to the pack. I blackmailed Jackson's parents into not leaving for London. I keep this pack together. It doesn't matter who's the Alpha, I'm Pack Mom and they are my betas first."
For a split second, his eyes flitted back to Peter, but he couldn't make out what the look on the Alpha's face meant. He hoped it wasn't anger. Swallowing hard, Stiles returned his attention to the queen, with Derek standing strong at his side, helping him shield Isaac and Cora. A small smile found its way onto Stiles' lips. The two of them had become friends, close friends, over all the times they'd saved each other's lives. Derek may not have been a good Alpha, but he was a good man and a good friend. He was much happier now, as a beta again, Stiles could see that.
"You keep protecting your pack, I'm sure you've given a lot for them," Queen Faerynna mused. "What else have you given, for that pack of yours? What is the most you have given for them?"
His whole body tensed as a flood of memories flashed before his inner eye, memories of every single time he had gotten hurt, tortured, abducted, tormented, and unable to stop it, he could feel himself starting to count his fingers. His thumbs pressed against his other fingers one by one, forcefully, and lastly pressing against his palm. One, two, three, four, five. Five fingers on each hand. Not a dream. Not a nightmare. Because it started to feel like a nightmare, like he was being tortured on purpose. He counted his fingers again. Derek, Cora and Isaac stepped up to him, careful.
"Stiles," Derek spoke softly, watching the movement of his fingers.
One, two, three, four five. He balled his hands into fists, albeit shaking. He knew what Derek was thinking, what they all were thinking, was acutely aware of the way they'd watched the movement. They knew what this was, what he was doing, why he was doing it. Which was why his actual answer was only going to surprise them even more. Because the Nogitsune wasn't something he had given, not really. It was something that had been forced onto him. That was different.
"I died," Stiles replied after another beat. "I gave my life for this pack. In the Argents' basement-"
He could see Chris and Allison flinch and Boyd and Erica still at his words and he ignored it, instead barreling on to get it over with. "I died in that basement. Because the level of electricity needed to keep wolves from shifting is too much for a human heart to endure. When I tried freeing Boyd and Erica, I got electrocuted. My Spark didn't allow me to stay dead, it restarted my heart."
"Stiles-" Chris' voice broke, sounded so wrecked, it made Stiles' heart ache.
"I died for this pack," Stiles repeated with emphasis, turning away from his pack again to instead look the queen dead in the eyes, his own gaze cold and serious. "And I'll do it again, as often as I have to, as long as I can keep them safe. I'll do anything to keep my pack safe."
And it wasn't just additional information, it was a thinly veiled threat. If she hurt them, he was going to kill her. As simple as that. Queen Faerynna laughed delighted, clapping her hands.
"I will be generous, young Spark. You gave me two hard truths, what you have given and what you are willing to give, so I will in return give you two of your pack-mates."
The vines fell off both Boyd and Erica and without hesitation did the mated pair rush to him and hug him from behind, from either side. He couldn't help but flinch. He'd never wanted them to know. His heart was hammering in his chest and his eyes burned with unshed tears. They let him go reluctantly, after a moment, when they noticed him shaking. Knowing that he couldn't afford to break down here, knowing that he needed the distance. He was eternally grateful to them when they stepped back to fall in line with Cora and Isaac, allowing him to gather himself.
"What are you most ashamed of, most afraid they will learn?"
There was something predatory to the queen's gaze at that, unnaturally long teeth showing in her smile. Stiles wrapped his arms around his torso, too aware of the way Derek, Cora, Isaac, Boyd and Erica were huddling around him, how the rest of the pack stood behind them, still tied up, still in danger, yet all of them watching him. He hunched in on himself, shoulders drawn close. The vines around the other pack-members tightened until there were some pained noises coming from Kira and Lydia. Stiles ground his teeth together, glaring viciously at her.
"I killed Allison," Stiles spat the words out, closing his eyes tightly.
"What are you talking about, she's right here!" Scott sounded desperate, worried. "And you didn't do anything, it was the demon, it wasn't you!"
"But it was me," Stiles growled, voice dripping with self-loathing. "I remember everything it did. It made me watch. I felt the resistance of her flesh when we drove the sword into her and I watched her die in my arms, I listened as she took her last breath. I was too late. By the time I could wrestle some control back from it, she was dead. Lydia didn't scream in warning because someone might die, she screamed because Allison did die that day because I killed her."
He made a wretched sound but managed to not throw up at the court. Yay, him.
"Stiles, I'm alive," Allison pointed out, gently. "M… Maybe it was just messing with you-"
"Go on, young Spark, and I'll let two go again," the queen offered generously.
"I gave up my Spark to bring you back," Stiles whispered, tilting his head down, feeling so small. "I poured all of my magic into you, into bringing you back, I clawed at your soul to drag it back into your body. That's why I haven't used my magic since the possession. I know you all think I'm just afraid of it because the Nogitsune was dark magic, but it's because I don't have magic anymore. I gave it up to bring Allison back. I don't know if it will ever recover, or if it's gone for good."
Shocked and pained gasps and when the five already freed tried to comfort him, he shied away from their touch. He'd never wanted to admit this, he never wanted to tell them that he was useless now, that he no longer had his magic, had no right to be Emissary of the pack anymore. He squeezed his eyes shut, feeling the tears running down his cheeks but choking on his sob.
"Stiles…" Allison's voice was so soft as her and Scott walked up to him. "Thank you."
She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug, and Scott was right next to her, his arms around them both and suddenly, Stiles couldn't fight the sob anymore, clinging onto her.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Stiles chanted until his voice broke. "I killed you."
"You brought me back to life," Allison corrected, gently caressing his hair. "You gave up your magic to bring me back to life, Stiles. I don't know how to thank you for that."
The queen waited patiently until his tears died and he gathered himself enough to face her again. He motioned for Scott and Allison to join the others, still wanting to keep them safe, needing to protect his pack. They reluctantly obeyed, after soft additional tugging from the other betas.
"Continue," Stiles ordered, voice rough. "Let's get this over with. I want to go home."
"You told me what you gave up for the pack, what you are willing to give up for it. What have you lost for this pack?" Queen Faerynna asked, tilting her head. "Not given, but what was taken."
Clarification, so he couldn't say his magic. He frowned annoyed. And then he paused when he noticed that he was counting his fingers again. Oh. Right, remembering the Nogitsune did that to him. Many things did that to him. He had too many triggers to keep track of at this point.
"My sanity. My mind," Stiles furrowed his brows, looking down at his hands. "The Nogitsune took my ability to tell reality from nightmare. Every single time something… not normal… happens, I have to count my fingers to make sure I'm awake. And in our lives, every day is a day that something abnormal happens and every time, I have a moment of panic that I'm not awake, not really here, that it's not real, that I'm still stuck in my mind, and I don't think that will ever stop."
This one felt good, in a weird way. Like a tight grip on his heart was easing off and he could breath just a little easier. Scott slipped a hand into his from one side, giving it a tight squeeze and looking at him with those big puppy-dog eyes, sad but supportive. Derek took his other hand. Allison, Cora, Isaac, Boyd and Erica were still standing in a half-circle behind him. Protective. Supportive. There.
The roses around Jackson turned white and the former kanima was free to first check on Lydia and… and then join the others in their protective little half-circle around Stiles. His heartbeat picked up and he raised his chin high to regard the queen coldly. Bring it on, his gaze said.
"What is the thing you are most afraid of?"
Mh. Stiles felt himself strangely detached as he considered this question. Near clinical.
"The Nogitsune made me think I was dying," Stiles whispered. "Dying of the same illness that took my mom. And that… That's my biggest fear. Every day I wake up and I am terrified that today's the day, today I'll start showing actual symptoms. That I'll fully lose my mind, forget all the knowledge I've gathered, forget the people I love, forget myself. That I'll die slowly and alone, even if everyone who loves me is around me, because I won't recognize them."
He blinked repeatedly, blinking away tears as he remembered his mother's vacant gaze. Scott gave his hand a squeeze but didn't speak, knew it wouldn't change anything. Nothing could. The vines let go of Kira and she stumbled up to the rest of the pack, finding her place among them.
The queen tapped her fingers against her chin, smiling. "Who do you love the most?"
"My dad," Stiles answered without missing a beat, this being a truth he didn't mind to part with. "He's the only one I have left. Ever since mom died, since her family turned their backs on us, he's all I have left. I love him more than my own life."
The queen pursed her lips and tilted her head. "That was not the love I was talking about, but it was such a sweet and genuine answer that I will accept it. And it is on me for not being specific."
The flowers around Malia turned from red to white. Ten down, three more to go. This one had been easy. Deceptively easy. Stiles felt himself tense in anticipation for what came next.
"Who are you in love with?" Queen Faerynna rephrased her last question. "Romantic love, dear."
Stiles' eyes widened and he squared his jaw, clenching a hand over his mouth, trying to physically keep himself from answering. No. Not this. Everything but this. She couldn't take this from him.
"Stiles," Lydia spoke softly, reaching out as far as the bindings allowed. "It's okay."
"Yeah," Jackson heaved a sigh. "Not like we all don't know it. You know I'm okay with it, you love Lydia, everybody knows. It's okay."
The rest of the pack made reassuring noises too. Like they knew him. Like they knew what was in his heart. They really thought he was still hung up on Lydia? After all this time?
"I'm not in love with Lydia," Stiles spat out. "I've never been in love with Lydia, it was just easier to be in love with a perfect girl who would never look at me twice than to confront that I'm gay."
He gasped at that, he'd never said it out loud, not even to Scott. His best friend made a confused noise, so did the majority of pack. Like being gay wasn't a big deal. Straight people really didn't get it. Even with the most supportive allies surrounding him, that didn't change the fear.
"Danny is gay, so is my dad, Peter and Malia are bi, Kira is a lesbian," Allison pointed out gently. "I just mean, none of us would have judged you."
"I've told myself that I'm in love with Lydia since first grade, since before I knew what gay even was, that boys liking boys was even a thing that could happen," Stiles snarled, his fists shaking next to him. "Good for everyone who had the emotional space and capability to come to terms with it before high school, I didn't. And when I was ready to come out, when I told my dad that I'm gay he told me not dressed like that, my own father couldn't believe that I could be gay because of the way I dress, so I shoved that back down where it's been for years and left it there. Because living a lie that nobody questions is easier than living a truth that people might reject."
Queen Faerynna regarded him with soft, warm eyes and that made it worse. "I'll accept it. It wasn't an answer to the question I asked, but it was a hard truth, so I will accept it."
The flowers on Lydia turned white, releasing her. She stumbled into Jackson's arms. Stiles marginally relaxed. Two more. He could do this. He felt raw and naked and vulnerable but he had endured eleven truths, he could tell two more and then they could get out of here.
"Now, let me rephrase again, then. One last time. If you do not answer me truthfully this time, I will keep you all here for eternity, young Spark. Who do you desire the most?"
"My mates," Stiles choked out, tears prickling in the corners of his eyes. "I want my mates. I know they don't want me, I know that, I learned to accept that, but that doesn't stop me from wanting them. I want them so badly, it physically hurts."
Stiles kept his eyes on the queen, ignoring the surprised gasps from his pack, ignoring Peter and Chris. He could see them in the corner of his eyes, he wished he couldn't. He didn't want them to know this, not them. He'd worked so hard to ignore this. Chris was released and went to hug Allison. He tried to reach out to Stiles but Stiles violently flinched away from his touch.
The queen didn't give Chris a chance to speak. "Why do you think your mates don't want you?"
"Because he has known for two years and never said anything and they've sealed their mate-bond a year ago and never said anything and how could they," Stiles spat the words out, shaking a little. "I killed him, I killed Peter. And I killed Chris' daughter. How could they want me. Half the time, I don't even understand why they let me be part of the pack, much less the Emissary, so that's already more than I deserve. How could they want me, I don't want myself."
His breathing was labored and he knew the look in his eyes was haunted. He pulled away from the pack, wrapping his arms around himself, trying to protect himself. Peter was free, they were all free, and Stiles felt like he was breaking into a million pieces, with all his well-guarded secrets laid bare before them all. He gasped out a sob, trying to gather himself.
"There," Stiles snarled. "I played your game. Now keep your promise."
"Of course, young Spark," Queen Faerynna smiled and it looked nearly merciful. "You played well, so I will reward you. Your Spark is not gone, you simply lost connection to it. Let me help you reignite it, as a thank you for a very entertaining evening."
She lifted her hand, and there was a sudden warmth in his chest. He gasped out as power flooded him, his eyes widened and he knew, in that moment, that they were flashing turquoise, as they hadn't in too many months. The next second, he found himself in the middle of the pond. Dripping wet, with his entire pack, and the previously dancing humans, sitting in the water.
"Stiles-" Peter spoke, his voice sounding unsure.
"No," Stiles shook his head violently and climbed out of the pond. "No. No, I can't. I can't… I… I… I can't have this conversation now, I can't, I need to… be alone, right now."
"I'll drive you home, Stiles," Derek offered in an unusually soft voice.
Stiles turned to glare at the former Alpha. But he knew he was shaking, full body shakes, and was about a second away from a full panic attack. He was also overwhelmed by this new, even stronger connection to his Spark, he felt like his nerves were on fire. After taking a shaky breath, Stiles nodded, giving up. Maybe he could use someone driving him home right now.
He let Derek lead the way back to their cars, where he took Stiles' keys from him and started the Jeep. Stiles slipped into the passenger seat, pulling his legs up, feeling small and exhausted. He rested his head against the window, tears running down his face.
"Tell me if there is anything I can do," Derek requested, voice low.
"G… Give me the weekend," Stiles pleaded. "I can't see them, I can't talk to them, I just… I just need time, please, I need… I didn't want to say any of this, these were my truths and she took them, forced them away from me and I can't deal with whatever Peter and Chris want, I can't."
"Of course," Derek rumbled softly, reassuring.
Stiles sagged a little in relief at the promise. He felt too raw. He needed time to stitch himself together again before he could face anyone, much less Peter and Chris.
/break\
Chris wanted to reach out for Stiles, wanted to comfort him, to hold him. Before he had a chance to did his own daughter step in the way. The look on Allison's face was hard and Chris was shocked to have it aimed at himself. The betas lined up behind her. Putting themselves between Chris, Peter and Stiles. Protecting Stiles from the Alphas. Chris startled as he realized that with a pang.
Derek led Stiles away to the cars, leaving the rest of the pack behind. Peter next to Chris ground his teeth together, keeping from snarling at their betas. Chris reached out, taking his mate's hand.
"Scott, Erica, Jackson, Malia, I want you three to take the injured people to the hospital," Lydia instructed in a stern no-nonsense voice. "I want you to also go and get rid of your aggression because I will not have this escalate into a physical fight. Boyd, I want you to take Kira, Isaac and Cora home. Me and Allison will go with our Alphas and have a conversation with them."
"Why do you think you get to command my pack," Peter asked sharply.
Lydia's eyes were steely. "Because you hurt Stiles. And right now, I'm the only thing between you and the sharp teeth and claws of your own betas, because – and you should know that – we love Stiles. Even if we may not have known that he was Pack Mom, the bond was still there."
Isaac whined at that, leaning into Erica and Boyd for a moment. Of course. The three first betas of the Hale Pack had the strongest bond to Stiles, aside from Scott. The strongest Pack Mom bond. Stiles had just admitted it, that he had become Pack Mom for them. Chris swallowed hard. He turned to look at Peter, who looked guilty and heartbroken.
"Fine," Peter forced out. "Do as she said."
The pack split up, Chris and Peter getting into Peter's car, together with Allison and Lydia. The drive back to the Hale House was tense and quiet, the two girls in the back seething.
"I love you, dad," Allison started as soon as they entered the house. "But you have some serious explaining to do, because I've never felt more protective of Stiles than right now, after he just told me that he brought me back from the dead."
She was shaking, Chris noted. Because she'd died. His daughter had been dead. Chris started shaking too. He reached out for her, wrapping his arms around her. Thankfully, she let him. A sob tore from her throat as he started crying. Mourning her own death.
"There is… a lot that Stiles has done for this pack, without any of us knowing," Lydia's voice was a sad whisper, her eyes on the ground. "And some where we didn't know the depth of his sacrifice. So yes, you two do have some explaining to do and don't you dare growl at me and deny me, Peter Hale. Stiles just bared his soul to us, you owe at least that much in return."
Chris didn't let go of Allison, burying his face in her hair. He'd already lost his entire family, he only had her. The thought that he had lost her, that she would be dead if Stiles hadn't given up his magic for her. His grip on her tightened even more, desperate.
"He's been through so much," Chris admitted after a long moment. "When Peter and I got together, when I learned that we had a third mate in our bond, when I realized he's seventeen, he's… he's your age, Allison, I was… mortified of that. My mate is the same age as my daughter, I needed some time to digest that, I wanted for us to wait until he's at least eighteen."
Lydia heaved a deep sigh, but her eyes were on Peter, cold. "You don't have morals."
Peter barked out a laugh at that. "You're right. His age doesn't bother me. I would have claimed him on the spot, if I could have. But then I inconveniently died. And when I came back, well… There was always something, something dangerous to take care of."
"You found the time to court my dad," Allison pointed out.
There was a pause and a vulnerability to Peter. "He did kill me. I didn't think… I thought he deserved better. I worked very hard to become… better. Worthy of him. And by the time I thought I was a good enough Alpha, he was… possessed… He's still struggling with it. He needed the support of his pack, not the burden of this. You know him, you know he would have tried to put on an even braver face, not to worry us, would have forced himself to be stronger for us."
Both Allison and Lydia fell quiet at that. They knew he was right. They'd just been witness to the proof of it. Stiles kept all his pain safely tucked away, forcing himself to be strong for others. Peter and Chris had thought they did the right thing, didn't burden him with this.
"We need to go and talk to him, we need to explain this," Chris declared.
"You will not."
The four of them turned toward the door as Derek walked in, a dark expression on his face. Peter growled at his nephew, flashing his eyes red. But Derek flashed his eyes right back at the Alpha, growling, baring his fangs. Ready to fight. That was exactly what Lydia had wanted to avoid, any of the more volatile wolves to try and challenge the Alpha on Stiles' behalf.
"You will not keep me from my mate," Peter snarled.
"You kept yourself from your mate," Derek growled back. "You should have told him. You really thought Stiles wouldn't figure it out on his own? Stiles?"
Peter backed off at that, looking tormented. "I just… We'll explain it to him, we'll make up for it."
"But not right now," Derek raised his chin. "I asked him, if there is anything I can do to help him, and he asked me for time. He doesn't want to see anyone right now, much less you two. He earned the right to deal with what just happened, what's just been taken from him. You two didn't tell him for two years, you'll be able to wait three more days to talk to him. He asked for the weekend."
Lydia snorted and shook her head. "He didn't even ask for a full week."
"You know him," Derek huffed. "He's going to spend the weekend compartmentalizing and shoving his feelings back down where he usually keeps them locked up. And then he'll continue pretending that he's fine. I think he mostly asked for the weekend in hopes that we will do the same."
"Probably," Lydia conceded with a frown. "We will have to talk to the betas about this. We all should talk about this, together, so we can deal with our feelings on the matter on our own and don't put that on him too."
"Tomorrow," Allison nodded. "We'll have a pack-meeting tomorrow and talk this through."
Chris' eyes were on Peter and it was a testimony to how guilty Peter must be feeling that he let the three of them just decide this. Not that it was a bad decision. Chris reached out for his mate.
/break\
Peter was frustrated and annoyed. The pack had pretty much given him and Chris a verbal lashing for two days. Both Saturday and Sunday, they kept telling them off for not telling Stiles and picking apart their stupid reasons. They weren't wrong. Peter knew that himself.
He regretted not claiming the boy when he had first met him, but he'd been too feral. What little rational brain he had had been afraid that he would hurt his mate, so he kept Stiles at a distance. And then Stiles had helped kill him and Peter needed to earn the boy's trust first. And then, well…
"You ready for this, love?" Chris asked, holding Peter's hand.
It was Monday evening. They knew the sheriff was out. They also knew Stiles would be home. Allison, Cora and Isaac had told them Stiles had been at school. And that the betas had all wrapped him up in a puppy pile for the entire lunch break, apparently.
"Are you two going to stand there all night, or are you coming in? Door's open."
Both Chris and Peter startled and looked up at Stiles, who was leaning out of his bedroom window and regarding them with a near detached look, bordering bored. Peter hated that. He hated that Stiles felt the need to put up walls with them now. They'd been past that for so long.
Peter gave Chris' hand a tight squeeze before the both of them stepped into the Stilinski home and made their way upstairs to Stiles' bedroom. The boy was sitting on his window-sill, hands in his pockets, a guarded expression on his face as he regarded them.
"I didn't mean to say any of that," Stiles started before they had a chance to even say hello. "I didn't want you to know that I knew. We've had a great thing going of ignoring the mate-bonds. Let's just… pretend Friday night didn't happen and that I didn't say any of that."
"No, Stiles," Chris shook his head with a grave look on his face. "You didn't want us to know and… and we didn't want you to know, for… various reasons. But now that it's all on the table, we really need to talk about it. Don't sneer at me like that, brat."
Stiles ground his teeth together and raised his chin, much like he had done when facing the Seelie Queen. It made Peter's heart clench. He didn't want Stiles to look at them the same way he looked at the villain of the week. He'd worked so damn hard for over a year to prove he wasn't a villain.
"The last thing you said," Peter spoke softly. "The last 'truth' you shared, it may have been what you perceived as the truth, but… it's not the truth. That's a lie that you told yourself, twisted by… I don't know what would make you think so low of yourself, to be honest…"
"Don't act stupid, Peter, it doesn't suit you," Stiles offered him a cold, calculating glare. "I was possessed by a demon and killed countless people, killed an ally, killed Allison, I… Fuck, half the time I can't even look in the mirror because all I see is the Nogitsune."
He wrapped his arms around himself and stared down at his shoes. Looking so much more small and fragile than Peter was comfortable seeing him. His little Spark should be a spitfire of snark and sarcasm, loud and in everyone's face. Not withdrawn.
"We thought you should focus on healing," Chris offered in a reluctant voice. "You pulled away so much and we were scared that if we told you, you would only withdraw even more. You had so much to deal with, we didn't want to be something else you had to deal with."
"And before that?" Stiles raised his eyes to glare at the hunter, then at Peter. "And before that?"
"We're old enough to be your fathers," Chris sighed, rubbing his face. "You are literally in the same class as both of our daughters. When Peter told me, when Peter and I got together, I… How could you want us? You had a choice, the same way I did, because we're human, and I thought that you should have the chance at a normal life, normal teenage high school romance, instead of being stuck with two middle-aged, fucked up soulmates who were both scrambling to get their shit together."
"You… I didn't tell you when I came back from the dead, because I thought I had to become someone worthy of you first. You did kill me," Peter pointed out, causing Stiles to flinch. "I don't hold that against you, but I thought that you did. I thought you would resent me if I told you that oh yeah the guy who turned your best friend into a werewolf and mauled your first love is your soulmate, lucky you! You're not the only one who has doubts, Stiles. I'm sorry we hurt you, I truly am, but we didn't tell you out of the same reasons that you never told us. Because clearly you knew too, you knew about our bond but you never brought it up either – because you thought that we didn't want you. You're a clever boy, I need you to consider that maybe we had the same fears."
Stiles stared at them, with a fragile hope in his eyes. "I didn't… I felt it. Ever since I first connected with my Spark, got my magic, I've been able to feel the mate-bonds. And I didn't… I didn't think you would want to be stuck with an obnoxious brat like me, and then, well, then the Nogitsune happened. Are you… I need you to tell me, promise me, that you're not just saying this now, out of pity, because you're forced to confront this. I can't have hope and see it crushed."
"We had every intention of telling you, once you turned eighteen," Chris promised, his eyes a silent plea on top of his words. "We wanted you to have a… well, what constitutes a normal high school experience in this town, and then we wanted to tell you. When you're a legal adult, which would have also eased some of my worries, Stiles. But we always planned on telling you, we never meant to keep the bond from you. It's not something we are ashamed of or don't want. You are not something we are ashamed of or don't want."
Something in Stiles' posture eased and he started shaking just a little. Peter and Chris were at his side in two quick strides, Peter to his left and Chris to his right. They held their boy close, held him while he cried. He clung onto them both, sobbing into their chests.
"I never blamed you for what happened to Allison," Chris whispered, brushing a kiss against Stiles' head. "And neither does she. Neither do any of us. We all know it was the demon, it was using you. It wasn't you. You were a victim of it too, Stiles."
Stiles held onto them even tighter, shaking with tears. Peter nuzzled his neck.
"Our pack loves you so much, Stiles," Peter chuckled. "They all, individually, and as a group, threatened us. They were fully ready for a mutiny on your behalf. What you said at the court, that regardless of who the Alpha is, these are your betas? That was the truth. I can't believe you've been Pack Mom of my pack and I didn't even notice because I was too busy being smitten with you."
"Smitten," Stiles echoed, sniffling a little. "Nobody says smitten, you're so cheesy, Peter."
"He's also smitten with you though. Me? I am being much more mature and normal about it."
"Oh please," Peter gave him a pointed glare over Stiles' head. "You completely lost it the last time he used a gun against that rogue omega. You fully lost it because that was 'so hot, Peter, so hot'."
Stiles blinked up at them with those big doe eyes of his before he started laughing softly. He leaned into them more comfortably and placed shy kisses on both their lips, making them relax too. And in that moment, Peter thought that maybe they could be okay, together. Heal, together.

yukimura x reader
you find him cooking
0.7k words
Tumblr media
You know how Yukimura is. He and tact never go along together. What can be expected of Yukimura is bare minimum in everyday life, lots of training and strong survival instincts. Yet when you found him in the kitchen it came across as a shock to you.
"You made this?"
"What, you don't believe me?" The evidence spoke for itself. Vegetable scraps, a knife on the countertop, some pots which he also cleaned after using and no one else in sight. It's clear as day he was the one who made it.
"No, it's just that... You and cooking isn't something I can imagine."
"Feel free not to have it then," he takes on a sulky tone at your hopelessness of him. He starts walking with a food tray in his hand, his dish sitting on top.
"No, wait. I want to have it." There's a hurry in your voice, afraid he may take his dish away because you're sceptical of his cooking. You start following him and end up at your shared room where he has set up the tray and is ready to have his meal. You settle down beside him taking a good look at him and then his creation.
It isn't gourmet-style cooking. Doesn't seem basic as well. Home cook level? Yeah, that's the way to put it.
You take the chopsticks and pick up the first bite slowly lifting it towards your mouth, your eyes analyzing the bite. Yukimura's gaze, too, is on you. Though you notice neither his stare nor the intensity with which he's staring.
He had made houtou nabe. Various vegetables sat along with flat noodles in a miso flavoured broth. If it were anyone else, they would've taken the effort to plate the vegetables in a more presentable or appetizing way, placed the spring onions in the centre, and the radishes, carrots and such in an array. It seemed as if he added the cooked vegetables blindly to the soup and noodles.
Enough with how it looks. A better job could've been done with the plating but it didn't look so bad. It looked as if someone had made it in a hurry, or without a care in Yuki's case, and that is fine.
With the first bite came the aroma of the stewed vegetables, the broth, and other condiments which he had used for flavouring. You take the first bite and immediately acknowledge how good it is. A hum escapes you along with a nod and Yuki knows that you love it.
"Not that bad, is it now?" He says with a smirk now but you know he was anxious about what would you say of his skills.
"How did you manage to cook something so good?" Not only are you surprised he made something you're more so surprised it tastes so good. It isn't as good as something Masamune would make but it is delicious.
"Don't talk as if it was a fluke I made something tasty." He heaved a sigh. "I know how to cook."
"You indeed do." You take another bite of his nabe smiling at how good it is.
"I've never seen you cook though. When did you learn to cook?" Your curiosity tumbles out of you.
"It was long back. It's a necessary skill to have during wars. You have to look out for yourself and all that." That's a typical Yukimura answer you're satisfied with it.
You almost spoke while the bite was still in your mouth. "And how did you decide on making something today?"
"Figured we could have something special once in a while."
Your face lights up at that. "Does that mean you'll cook often?"
"Look at you so impressed by my cooking. And here I thought you were sceptical of me being in the kitchen. Want me to cook for you from now on?" He has a smirk playing along on his lips. He is getting back to you for all your questions from before.
"I'm not impressed or anything." You suppress the blush on your face. The idea of him cooking for you has butterflies flying in your stomach.
He swiftly takes your chopsticks from you before diving in for a bite of his own. His actions catch you off guard. "Is that the reason why half of this bowl is empty?"
Damn him for noticing. You think he's gonna take the next bite for himself but he ends up feeding it you. That suppressed blush has furiously made its way back now. He sees his victory in that and offers his smile.
"No need to be shy. I won't mind cooking for you."

a/n: it was a spur of the moment kind of thing that i started writing this. i don't remember whether it was someone's route or a bonus story where yuki and mitsunari are cooking together and yuki gets in charge because mitsunari is clumsy. it was mentioned then that yuki can cook and personally i was surprised at that. i'm happy with how this turned out

Married to The Enemy- Shingen Ch. 63
Chapter 63
I couldn’t help but to feel anxious and hopeful as I sat beside Shingen at the banquet. Everything Yuto had said about his wife lined up and I couldn’t help but to wonder. I wanted to ask Sasuke his thoughts on the matter, but he was currently hiding from Kenshin who had grown bored with his sake and pickled plums.
The party was starting to dwindle down and some of the vassals were beginning to leave. I was starting to think that I wouldn’t be getting to meet Yuto’s wife. At least not tonight. One of Shingen’s vassals was coming over to join us, wanting to chat with Shingen.
“It really is wonderful to have you back home, my lord.” He said.
Shingen smiled and gave his vassal his attention. Though he kept a comforting arm around me, holding me close. “It is good to be home.” Shingen said. “And I have to thank you all for throwing such a wonderful welcome home party.”
“It is a great party. Though I have to admit I was disappointed when Yuto said he wouldn’t be inviting any dancing girls.” The vassal said.
“I didn’t think it would be respectful of our new lady.” Yuto replied.
“That would be rather disrespectful to my angel.” Shingen agreed.
“I think it would have been funny to see Yukimura get red-faced over.” Saki said with a grin.
“Why would I get red-faced over some girls?” Yukimura asked, his cheeks getting red just at the thought.
Saki giggled. “I don’t know beautiful women dancing specifically for welcoming you and Lord Shingen home.”
“I wouldn’t care about that.” Yukimura said.
“What? You wouldn’t look?” Saki teased him.
“No. Why would I want to look at anyone besides you?”
Saki smiled and then leaned in to kiss Yukimura on the cheek. “You’re so cute and sweet.”
Yukimura’s cheeks reddened. “No…you’re the cute one.” He said, though his voice was low so he could just barely be heard muttering something so cute.
“When you have your own goddess, there’s no need to look at anyone else.” Shingen agreed, pulling me closer and kissing me on top of the head.
I smiled up at him, happy for his love and the distraction from my anxiety. “You really are the best.” I told him.
“It’s almost strange to see our lord settled down with just one woman. But it’s a good strange.” The vassal said. “You must be something quite special Lady Ava.”
“Oh, I don’t know about that.” I replied.
“She is very special, indeed.” Shingen said. “There is no one else I could ever want or be this happy to have in my life.”
I felt my cheeks reddening. “Shingen…”
Shingen just smiled at me and kissed me on the forehead.
The party guests continued to dwindle down. Oba-san had gone to the kitchen to get some more food. A few more guests trickled out and only a handful were left, though most of the ones that were left, were far too drunk to do much other than pass out. That was when the doors to the back of the room opened and a woman was standing at the entrance.
“Ah, there’s my lovely wife.” Yuto declared rising from his seat to go to her.
I couldn’t help but to stare at her. She wore a traditional kimono, a dark red with a floral print. Her long brown, with a few streaks of gray, was swept up into a bun. She had the beginnings of laugh lines around her mouth. Her eyes…the same green eyes I saw when I looked in the mirror.
I was stunned. Too stunned to even move. I felt frozen in my seat. I had been waiting ten years to find out what had happened…hoping that I would see her again. And here she was alive and well.
“It looks like I’ve missed most of the party.” Kana said to Yuto, taking in the appearance of the various passed out vassals on the floor.
“The guests of honor are still here.” Yuto replied, taking her hand. “This way. I want you to meet Lord Shingen and his lovely new wife, who is with child and has expressed an interest in meeting you.”
Kana smiled at Yuto. “Well, if she would like me to assist in the birth, that would be an honor.”
Yuto led her by the hand back to where we sat. Shingen was beside me, holding my hand, his thumb gently rubbing the back of my hand. He could pick up on how I was feeling and must have known from my posture and the look on my face that it was her.
“Kana, my darling, this is Lord Shingen and his lovely wife, Princess…”
“Ava…” She said, finishing the sentence for him, her eyes widening as she looked at me.
It was like a spell had been broken. I pushed myself to my feet and was throwing myself at her. “Mom!”
Mom caught me in her arms and we both clung tightly to each other as tears of joy began to spill from our eyes. “Oh, my sweet girl.” Mom said. “Oh, how I have missed you.”
“I’ve…missed you…too.” I replied, hugging her tighter. I hadn’t had a hug from my mom in so long…I suddenly felt like I was a little girl again. A little girl who missed her mom. And I didn’t care what anyone else thought of it.
I wasn’t sure how long we stood there like that, just hugging each other and crying. Mom pulled back slightly to look at me, taking my face between her hands, her thumbs wiping away my tears like she had done for me many times as a child. “I…I can’t believe you’re here…”
I smiled through my tears. “I can’t…believe YOU’RE here…we have so…much to catch up on.”
Mom smiled at me. “Very much.” She agreed with me as looked me up and down. “Like the fact that you’re married and I’m gonna be a grandma.”
I smiled at her and nodded. “I’m…not the only one…married now.”
Mom laughed. “Yes…and I hope you aren’t mad at me.”
I shook my head. “There’s no way I could be. I’m just so happy you’re alive.” I was then hugging her once more.
“Lady Ava’s questions earlier make sense now.” Yuto said to Shingen.
“Yes, once you started to tell us about how you and Kana met, we both began to suspect.” Shingen replied.
It was at this moment, we heard a crash towards the entrance of the room. “Kana?”
Mom and I both turned to see Oba-san standing in the doorway, a tray of spilled food and broken dishes lay at her feet. “Mom?” My mom asked, her eyes wide.
Oba-san was then stepping over the broken dishes and running over to us, joining the hug and making it a group hug. “Oh, I always knew deep down you were alive and well somewhere, but…still seeing you in person and holding you…”
“You’re both…here…” Mom said in disbelief.
Maids were already quickly moving to clean up the spilled tray. “Well, this is truly a beautiful sight.” Yoshimoto commented.
“It really is.” Shingen agreed.
“Perhaps though, we should move this and the conversation to follow to a more private location.” Saki suggested.
“That’s probably a good idea.” I agreed.
It wasn’t much later that I found myself in a different room with my mom and grandmother. Saki had brought us tea and snacks and then left. The guys had all agreed that it would be best to let us have our reunion alone.
“I still can’t believe it.” Mom said as she sipped her tea and looked at me. “How did you two end up here?”
“The same way you did. A wormhole.” I answered.
“Is…is that what that was?” Mom asked.
“Yes.” I answered.
“Ava’s ninja friend, Sasuke knows all about them.” Oba-san said.
“I just…what?” Mom asked.
I did my best to explain the wormholes and what they were.
“If I hadn’t traveled through one myself, I’d probably not be able to believe it.” Mom said. “So, Ava, did you end up getting here the same time I did and just land in a different area because I pushed you out of the way?”
I shook my head. “No. I’ve been here only a few years now.”
“I see.”
“And I’ve only just gotten here.” Oba-san said. “Ava and Shingen came to the future and spent around six months there. I decided to come back with them. I didn’t want to miss the birth of my great grandchild.”
“Wait…you went to the future and came back?” Mom asked.
I nodded. “Just like you’ve found someone who makes you happy, I’ve found the same.” I replied. “Well, even before I married Shingen, I’d found a big family I knew I couldn’t leave behind.”
“That’s right….I remember Yuto telling me that Lord Shingen was marrying an Oda princess… but that…would make that…you. How?” Mom asked.
“You see, when I first arrived here…I kinda arrived the night of the Hono-ji incident and saved… Nobunaga.” I explained. “And after that he declared me his lucky charm and gave me the title of Princess of the Oda. Which was really just an excuse to keep me close.”
Mom blinked in surprise. “But then he married you off?”
“I agreed to it.” I said. “If I had objected, Nobunaga wouldn’t have forced me.”
“And then I’m pretty sure once she SAW Shingen, she had no problems marrying him.” Oba-san said with a teasing grin.
I giggled. “Well…I mean…yeah that did help ease my nerves a bit. But he’s also been nothing but sweet and charming and kind from the beginning.”
“You do know…he has a bit of a reputation, right?” Mom asked me. “Having been with Yuto these last ten years, I’ve learned a lot about your husband…and while he is a good man, he’s got a reputation for being a bit of a playboy.”
I sighed. “I know. But that’s the old Shingen.” I replied. I then explained everything about Shingen, his illness and how he had come to terms with the fact that he would die young and hadn’t wanted to leave behind a family to grieve him.
“I see…I’m still not sure I trust that.” Mom said, feeling skeptical. “Your father was a notorious womanizer and I thought he had changed for me, for us, but then he up and left.”
“Trust me, sweetheart, I’ve seen the way Shingen looks at Ava. He’s completely dedicated to her. He worships the ground she walks on.” Oba-san assured.
I smiled, my cheeks flushing a bit. “I have no doubts about Shingen's feelings for me. Our wedding night he even told me he wasn’t expecting anything and we would take our relationship at a pace that was comfortable for me.”
“I’m still going to keep my eye on him and if he ever does anything to hurt my baby, I don’t care how big and strong he is, I’m kicking his ass.”
I laughed and hugged my mom. “So, I have a question for you now.”
“What is it?” She asked.
“You and Yuto…he kinda gave us a bit of a rundown of what happened. But uhm…I’d like to know from your perspective and also…does he know? You know about where we’re really from?”
Mom nodded. “Yes, he knows.” She answered. “When I arrived here, I arrived somewhere outside of town. I stumbled around for a few days. My clothes were in tatters by the time I reached the town, looking for help. Yuto was the first one to find me and offer me aid. He brought me to his home and gave me some food and clothes…that’s when I realized why my cell phone didn’t work. At first I thought I’d somehow ended up in some kind of historical actor’s village or something.”
“I can see how you could come to that conclusion.” I replied.
Mom nodded. “So once I adjusted to the fact that I wasn’t going crazy, I started trying to figure out how to get back to the future…that was interesting trying to explain to Yuto, but once I showed him my cell phone and the few other things I had in my purse convinced him though.”
“That’s one way to convince people.” Oba-san said.
“What made you decide to stop trying?” I found myself asking.
Mom put her hand on mine. “You’re probably upset with me for giving up?”
I shook my head. “No. I just want to know what changed your mind.”
“Well, I had the thought that it seemed the storm was a key to traveling through time. So…I kind of started recklessly chasing storms.” Mom answered. “I got hurt one night and almost died. If Yuto hadn’t been there and helped me…I wouldn’t have made it. As he nursed me back to health after that, he talked some sense into me. Reminded me that getting back home would only be good if I could do it in one piece.”
“Well, I am glad that he helped you realize that.” I replied.
“So, while he took care of you, is that when you started to fall for him?” Oba-san asked.
“Yes…that was when I realized he really did care for me. I still had a hard time trusting him.”
“What made you change your mind?” I asked.
“He…he still loves his first wife. He’s kept her grave nice, brings fresh flowers to her three times a week.” Mom explained. “He still tells her about his day and how the children they had together are doing. He doesn’t take relationships or love lightly.”
“That sounds like a man who really can display true love.” Oba-san agreed.
I smiled. “Well, I’m glad that you’ve found someone who makes you happy.” I replied. “And I’m even happier that we’re all together again.”
Mom smiled as she hugged me and Oba-san. “I am so happy about that, too.” She told me.  She was then rubbing my belly. “And I’m glad I get to be here for you during the…I’m guessing second half of your pregnancy.”
“Roughly, yeah.” I replied. “So, how did you decide to become a midwife, by the way?”
“Oh that…I decided I needed to do some work. And I wanted to do something that helped people. I thought being a midwife would be a good way to do that.” Mom answered. “What about you? Your fashion designer dreams?”
“I’m a very in demand seamstress.” I answered, a smile of pride on my face. “When I was still with the Oda forces, I started sewing and working with the seamstresses in Azuchi. Then when Shingen and I got married and were living in Echigo, Shingen helped me start working with the seamstresses there. He even ordered the first commission from me and helped me get established in Echigo. I’ve started adding some modern flare to the clothes I’ve been making here and they’ve really been a big hit.”
“So, you’ve still found a way to make your dream come true then?” Mom asked.
I nodded. “Yup and it’s…it’s honestly even better. I get to see how happy my customers are and make custom pieces.”
“Well, I am glad that you’ve found a way to still have your dream.” Mom told me. “It makes me happy to see you so happy…even if I’m still skeptical about that husband of yours…or the fact that it was a political marriage.”
“Mom…it may have started out as an arranged political marriage, but we really are in love now.” I explained.
“I’m sure he probably won you over with sex.” Mom said.
I gave my mom a look. “It was actually the lack of sex that started to win me over.”
Mom furrowed her brow. “What?”
“You see…on our wedding night, I was fully expecting that he would be expecting sex…but well, he told me he would wait until I was ready.” I explained. “We didn’t even kiss for weeks.”
“I’m betting he really turned up the charm to get you ready.” Mom said.
I frowned. “Shingen is just naturally charming and sweet.” I replied. “I mean yeah he flirted with me, but we did get to know each other pretty well before we went there. Also…there have been a few incidents where any doubts that I could have had were erased.”
“What do you mean?” Mom asked.
I explained about the women gossiping in Echigo and bullying me. I explained about when we were in the modern day and Akemi showed up. “So there’s those, but also… he’s not afraid to be romantic or romance me. He likes doing the sweet and cheesy things like wearing matching clothes. Helping me get ready and do my hair.”
Mom’s eyes widened. “He…he does all that?”
“Oh, I’ve seen it.” Oba-san said. “When they were visiting the future, he let her pick out all of his clothes and happily let her lead him around. And the look on his face when she told him she was pregnant, I’ve never seen anyone happier about the news of becoming a father.”
“It’s also little things too. He listens to every word I say and remembers every little thing I tell him. He also pays attention to my body language and my facial expressions in any situation. He knows what I want without me having to say it.”
“Well…that does sound like a good husband. I’m still going to be a bit skeptical of him, though.” Mom said. “A leopard can’t change its spots.”
“You’ll see, Mom. Shingen is the best.” I assured her. “He’s also the most amazing and attentive lover.”
Mom sighed and shook her head, but she laughed. “Well, he probably picked up a few things over the years playing the field.”
I frowned. “Mom.”
“Alright, I will give him the benefit of the doubt.” She replied. “Especially since you do seem to be quite happy and in good health.”
I smiled. “I am.”
The three of us stayed up quite a bit longer, chatting well into the night. At some point I was growing tired, but not yet wanting to part from my mother. She had me lay my head down in her lap and stroked my hair. It was how she used to get me to sleep when I was a kid. And it worked like a charm still as I quickly fell asleep.
Kana sat stroking Ava’s hair even after she was in a deep sleep. A warm smile graced her lips as she looked down at her daughter. “It’s truly a miracle that we’re all together again.” She said.
“Very much so.” The eldest of the Shiba women agreed. She was then lifting an arm and wrapping it around her daughter’s shoulders. “I’m so happy to have us all together again.”
Kana smiled, her head resting on her mother’s shoulder, her hand still stroking Ava’s hair. “I’m so happy, too. And Ava is going to be a great mother.”
“Of course she is. She’s had two wonderful examples.”
Kana chuckled. “This may be the happiest moment of my life.”

Cooking with the Spirit Detectives
Yusuke does not like sharing his space when cooking.  He has a set way he learned to do things and while he likes to experiment and change things up to see what makes his ramen or other food better, he doesn’t want someone else in the kitchen while he does so.  Baking was another thing entirely, because he had to follow the directions of the other person with him. Whether it is Keiko or someone else, he doesn’t really bake much.
He likes cooking, which is why he enjoys the quiet life that comes with owning a ramen stand, but he likes it more that there are people around he gets to cook for. Its something he learned from the Yukimuras when he was younger. His mom didn’t exactly do family dinners, and he didn’t want anything to do with her parties when she had them at home. But the Yukimuras talked to people, brought people together, and seemed to really enjoy it when it happened.
It's why he likes his little ramen stand. He gets to bring in people to talk to, including friends and acquaintances from his adventure.  And when he decides to open up his own independent spirit detective agency, offering work for humans and apparitions in between Koenma calling him in, it brings in the clientele too.  He realized that for those in distress and needing help, the casual and comforting atmosphere of his stand helped them. It was a weird idea to be able to help others in such a different manner than he was used to.
Kurama didn’t mind cooking and could find the joy in cooking with someone else. It was thanks to growing up with his mother, helping her cook that made him accustomed to working with and around another person in the kitchen. He wasn’t as passionate about it as others, he saw it as a necessary thing that everyone should know how to do. A basic life skill, if you will. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to cook up some delicious food.
It's homestyle cooking, made to fill you up and make you feel good throughout the day. While most of the recipes he had on rotation weren’t anything special, there was one dessert his mother used to make that Yusuke had bugged and bugged and bugged him to teach him for his ramen stand.  Eventually Kurama caved, realizing he liked the idea of his mother’s dessert making others as warm as it had when he was a child.
He's overall a bit above average in baking and cooking but doesn’t strive to be much better. He sees his attentions and skills needed elsewhere and is happy to leave the more difficult or intricate recipes to others.
Kuwabara knows how to cook, it was something Shizuru insisted he know how to do at a young age. And with her working to support the both of them, it became a necessity to feed himself while she was gone.  While he doesn’t mind the cooking and prefers when someone else does it instead, he loves baking.  During high school he had to take an elective and ended up in a home eco class where one of the sections was baking.  It had been a fun challenge with a sweet payoff and got him hooked. From there it became a stress relief thing when he got into college. (btw this is directly a headcanon I got from a fic on AO3 called “preheat to 360 ^degree sign^ F” by hobakshiik and fell in love with. I totally recommend it!)
He doesn’t necessarily do it more than for his own enjoyment and, again, stress relief, but it’s something his friends get the benefit of on a somewhat constant basis. During particularly tough weeks with work, him and Yusuke would trade goods.  Yusuke would pack up some good meals for Kuwabara and in exchange he’d get some rocking desserts to last him through the week (if he could practice some self-control rather than eating it in one or two sittings.)
Hiei can…cook? He knows how to hunt and to skin beasts to get to the edible meat below. It’d be wild if he didn’t know considering his history and loner nature.  But to call it cooking would be generous when often he’d roast it over a fire and be done with the whole thing.  No seasoning, salt, or anything else to enhance or change the flavor, as dragging around supplies like that seems a waste of space to deal with and other than knowing what’s poisonous and should not be eaten, he isn’t too concerned with foraging for herbs or the like. He leaves that to Kurama.
More often than not these days he mooched off of the other fools he associates with or from Mukuro’s halls. He still works with her in the demon world often enough he has a room in her moving palace, and lower demons to see to the more mundane chores like cooking.
So while he can survive on his own food, he does benefit from the skills of those around him, not that he’d ever admit that.

Their first week's in the past were quite chaotic and fast. Their health being quite poor didn't help them in that regard.
Sauske was adapting easily to life in the past. 'Figues. He loves this period...' Morgan sighed as they laied down in their bed, resting from the training Kenshin had put them through.
He had cut them up quire badly, "Be glad you aren't dead" is all he said before leaving them to rest and heal.
They were happy that they weren't ignored. Despite being born a woman, he treated them like one of his men.
Whenever they rested and healed, Yoshimoto helped them learn the language, and they both did different arts together. This also improved them surviving Kenshin's training.
Sauske even helped them with different things to help their poor health to be at least more tolerable to survive their time in the past.
While training against Kenshin, the arm of their outfit was cut to show a butterfly semicolon tatto. People stopped and started at it and them. Muttering about the possible crime that they had done.
"Awnser. Why do you have that mark?" Kenshin demanded from them.
"Where I'm from tattoos are seen as a form of art and expression on the behalf of the tattoo artist and the person."
Somw of the people muttered in shock and amazement, others still gave them dirty looks. That was okay, though. They already got those in any time period.
They were a freak, and they accepted that.
Then, Kenshin and Shengen met up to forge an alliance.
More new people was hard for Morgan, so they tried to stay in the background, helping Yoshimoto when they could or doing some setup with Sauske.
Shengen was the first to approach them. I mean, they were feminine and masculine and was able to survive Kenshin. It was all quite fascinating to him. So he needed to get to know them, and flirting wasn't a bad start.
Or so he thought.
"What did someone like Kenshin do to earn an angel like you?"
"Nearly die in the middle of a storm"
"Well, i hope the storm brewing in my heart for you c-"
A thud was heard, and Yukimura ran into the room where Shengen entered to see him punched square in the face, with a pissed off Morgan sitting there calmly and getting back to work.
Yukimura was shocked, unable to decide what what the best reaction laughter, reprimand Shengen, or reprimand this other person.
Shengen burst out laughing, so that just added to Yukis confusion.
"Ah- well- if you like the hunt-"
"I'm not interested in dateing someone like you. Do your business with Kenshin, not me." They quickly shrugged him off, and the two men left Morgan, dazed, and a little confused. So the duo went to the man of the hour for an explanation. Luckily for them, Kantesugu, Sauske, and Yoshimoto were also there.
"What happened to you, Shengen?" Kenshin looked at his new ally, confused that his nose was bleeding already.
"Morgan."
"Why would you flirt with them?"
"Because they are cute."
"Thats it. Really?"
"What? Does it have to be held against me?"
"Yes. I've managed to scare off those who have proposed to both them and Sauske. I'll have to kill you aswell."
"Haha, alright, I'm sorry- you seem to care about them. I'll apologize when I see them next, okay?-"
"Good."
The next time Shengen saw Morgan was when they were in the kitchens bakeing. He was a little surprised, but shrugged it off.
"Good Evening Morgan"
"Good Evening." They coldly replied as they continued to put together the sweets they were making.
"I should get this out first- I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable." He bowed in apology.
Morgan looked at him, then sighed "It's fine. You didn't realize, and I'm sorry I punched you." They awkwardly bowed aswell before going back to their baking.
"What are you makeing?"
"Wagashi, I haven't made these recipes before, I'm more familiar with Western ones. Can you try some to be sure that they are good?"
Shengen lit up like fireworks, "That sounds good to me. I'll prepare some tea to go with it."
Once Morgan finished shapeing the Wagashi, they gave it to Shengen to try. They looked nervoious but determined.
"Wow- that's actually really good- this is really your first try??"
"Uh- yeah- heh-" They smiled awkwardly, but proudly.

Hell of an Evolution: New Mutant on the Block
@atiny-angel @axelwolf8109 @thebejeweledwatercat @ozzypawsbone-princeofbarkness @epickiya722 @greek-freak101 @thefandomlifechoseus @straykidsdarlin
Stiles Stilinski was a loner, not but choice but by circumstance, until a man named Chris offered him a place to stay and learn to adapt to his powers
Stiles hugged his jacket closer, Chris Argent was adamant that he'd be safe but he wasn't convinced
"We got a lot of kids around your age, you'll be okay" Chris pulled into the driveway. "Wow" Stiles' jaw dropped at the mansion that might've as well have been a castle.
Chris smiled and helped him with his two bags, entering the "school"
"Dad!" A teenage girl ran down the stairs to hug Chris. Stiles flinched away before she could get too close.
"Hey Ally" He laughed. Another teen, a boy with scales and green eyes bolted down the stairs and hugged Stiles tightly.
"No!" "You're new! I'm Jackson! I'm basically half lizard, nothing can hurt me, you're like really pretty!"
Stiles was confused but relieved that the lizard boy was apparently unharmed by his "death touch"
"Jackson, let go before you cause him to have a panic attack" "It's okay" Stiles said quietly
"You'll be rooming with Scott, he's harmless" Chris said, shouldering Stiles' bag. Jackson leapt on top of the stairs and followed the pair
"How many people live here?" "Eleven ish, give or take" Jackson giggled.
Chris opened a door, Scott was laying on his bed, arms over his eyes and red glasses laying beside him.
"Scott" Chris said exasperated. "I know I know" Scott put the glasses on, giving Stiles the vibe of a frat boy douche bag who refused to take his sun glasses off inside
"Scott, this is Stiles, your new roommate" Scott sat up and shook Stiles' gloved hand. "Jackson's already attached so be nice"
Scott laughed and sat back down on his bed. "We have school tomorrow so please let me get a good night's sleep"
"Of course man"
---------
Stiles got up in the morning tired as hell, Scott waiting for him.
"We eat breakfast and then Peter, he's our teacher basically, drives us to Beacon Hills high so we can get education. We all have cover stories to hide our mutations, as far as humans know I'm color blind and need these"
"What will my cover be?" "Probably some type of skin condition" Scott shrugged.
Stiles smiled at that. The pair went downstairs and into the kitchen. "Morning Scott, new kid" A boy with bronze skin said.
"Stiles" "Danny" Danny smiled in a friendly way. Jackson hopped from upstairs and grinned. "Danny has a sonic scream" Scott said. "Oh cool"
Danny grinned. Jackson tapped a bracelet on his wrist and changed into a human looking teen boy, it was hard to deny that Jackson was extremely attractive.
-----
Stiles sat as far away from everyone else as possible, Jackson had apparently appointed himself as Stiles' best friend because he was the only one who could touch him, the driver, a man (well he was only eighteen) named Derek, had flinched away from Stiles as soon as he saw him
Kira Yukimura had smiled at him politely, her roommate Lydia Martin had looked at him like he was about to explode.
Erica Reyes had literally hissed at him, the boy attached to her side trying to calm her down. Liam Dunbar looked completely indifferent, his roommate Theo grinning.
"Welcome to Beacon Hills high" Derek said, absolutely bored. Stiles tried to smile at him but Hale again ignored him.
Attitude much?
------
"Sir, the mutant school is boring in numbers" Alan Deaton said nervously, whole Deucalion was blind, the mutant man himself was extremely dangerous and temper mental.
"No matter, soon Stilinski will be in my ranks, they'll drive him away, besides we have something they don't"
He turned around. "The twins" Aiden Steiner ran around his cell, trying to find any escape. Ethan Steiner sat cross legged in his, using his telekensis to move blocks around. His twin stopped to catch his breath, Ethan slammed the blocks together. Destroying them

I have nail polish that changes color when my hands are cold and I'm realizing how cute it would be for someone to notice my hands are cold and hold them except it's in the 90's right now and I'm so very lonely, so let's just imagine
Notices the change in color, asks about it, then uses it every chance they get:
Shingen: makes it his mission to keep your hands on the warm color, claims he sees the color starting so subtly change when in fact it is not changing. Big fan of kissing the nails to change their color, eye contact prederable.
Mistuhide: obviously anything he knows can and will be used against you there will be teasing, but he actually likes the descretness of it too. You don't have to ask him to warm your hands and he doesn't have to ask if your hands are cold.
Masamune: thinks it's very cool, would rather you ask, but he won't complain about an excuse to hold your hand and I do men excuse. Regardless of what color your nails are he will definitly hold you hand and say they were changing color when called on being handsy
Hideyoshi: loves that there is a visual indicator for (what he believes is) one of your needs. Doesn't just hold your hands he takes both of them in his and blows on them gently. It's so sweet your get a toothache
Notices, but is mostly just intrigued on how it works, you have to tell them they were supposed to hold your hand:
Sasuke: wants to know the chemical reaction causing the change. Compliments the colors. Once told his role he gives a salute and dutifully keeps your hands warm when they are not.
Nobunaga: gets two bowls on with warm water the other with cool. Spends some time testing them between each bowl until they both reach ambient temperature. Puffs up with pride when you tell him he's supposed to hold your hand when the color indicates cool. Oh, yes that he can do.
Yoshimoto: inspects them very closely, wants the same color. (He would be a nail art lover for sure) ((to be honest I don't know his character that well I just know this is so far up his ally its in his kitchen))
Doesn't notice, you have to tell them, tells you that you should just say when your hands are cold (pays attention anyway):
Yukimura: everything is witchcraft with this boy. You should just tell him he isn't always going to notice something like cosmetics, always seems to notice. Likes having non romantic excuse to hold your hands. Will also hold both you hands in his and blow on them.
Kenshin: how foolish, if your hands are cold just tell him. What if he hadn't noticed, and your fingers fell off, no he's not being dramatic, its slightly chilly. He's a fingertip kisser prove me wrong.
Mitsunari: very oblivious, but as soon as he knows he checks about every time he sees you. Likes to hols a hand while he reads, occasionally bringing your hand up for a kiss. Helps him stay grounded in reality so that he remembers to drink water. It's hard to be cold around a pocket of sunshine
Iyasu: if your cold you should say something he doesn't have time to play color swap guessing games. Constantly sneaking a look at your nails. Holds your hands under his chin to warm them, no he's not being sweet, that's just the fastest way because of bloodflow, it's medicine, no he's no blushing.

Tsuki no Hime - Tales of a Mystic
Genshin Masterlist | Design Concept
❌ NO REPOSTING ❌
Oh yeah, I’m calling this Tales of a Mystic. Gotta give my “event” a name (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Basically the theme is design a costume based off on legends and folklore.
Here’s Yuna with her costume being themed after Princess Kaguya and the Bamboo Cutter along with the Moon Rabbits! Yuna's character does have a moon theme to her name, Mochizuki, which means full moon. Plus I also like giving her a rabbit/bunny vibe since I just get that from her, so the moon rabbits are part of this.
I have an idea to do one for Thoma! I’m thinking to base his theme on Kōjin one of the fire gods of Japanese folklore. Kōjin is the god of fire, the hearth and the kitchen, which is honestly perfect for Thoma! Besides Kōjin is hardly represented in media so it would be a nice way to learn more about him as I do some research on how to apply his theme to Thoma! Also I joked about this with a friend, I thought I should give Thoma two spears to make him the Sengoku Basara Yukimura of Genshin (๑>◡<๑) You know what, the more I think about it the more I wanna do it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, I also made like two versions for this template. At least just the door for it because I was indecisive again _(┐「ε:)_ but there’s this one with the Japanese door and the other is a regular door in case I wanna go for a western mystic theme and I can use that one instead. I just might keep it because I do have ideas for some of the other characters ʕʘ‿ʘʔ But if anyone is interested in taking part in this you are free to use them!

The Key to Finding Love
Read it on AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/56664253
by AShortWalkToDelinquency
"Okay. Rules of the game." With a clap of his hands, Stiles captures everyone's attention. He doesn't bother waiting for Derek to reappear from the kitchen, though. He knows he's listening. "Anyone who talks, for whatever reason, is out. That includes answering questions in class, talking your way out of speeding tickets," a quick glance at Jackson earns Stiles a glare that probably would have scared the crap out of him two years ago but just makes him want to patpat Jackson's head now, "or even screaming for help if you're being chased by murderous beasts. Got it?"

This is just a fun little thing I decided to do because of how much knowledge I have of some characters and I love sharing. Some of these are pretty obvious, not all the characters will be here so if you want to add the facts you know that aren’t here, feel free to do so!
Fun little facts about the warlords.
Oda forces.
Nobunaga Oda.
Whenever he goes out to get Konpeito from the kitchen, he wears a hood on his head to try and disguise himself.
He treats bearsace as a sacred artifact, on one event a kid asks if they can play with bearsace and he just said no because it was important to him.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
Hideyoshi has a group of lady friends with whom he has tea with, they admire him and definitely have a crush, but they are more like friends.
Hideyoshi isn’t fond of sweets, but he doesn’t mind eating them if it’s with someone special.
Ieyasu Tokugawa.
He studies medicine and treats many people, but he is better as a veterinarian as he treats harmed animals, even if he doesn’t admit it.
He likes hot sauce to a dangerous degree, it’s never hot enough for him.
Mitsuhide Akechi.
It has been said that, the reason why he he eats food all mixed up in a weird way is because he can’t taste it.
In one audio drama, mitsuhide purposely competed with Hideyoshi for the right hand man position just so that Hideyoshi realized how much he deserves that position. (He also cooked for Nobunaga and was proud of his monstrosity.
Mitsunari Ishida.
He is the only one who has ever come close to beating Nobunaga in Go, which shows how smart he is.
Even though they have completely different personalities, Mitsunari and Mitsuhide are often studying together, they both are like the Mitsu duo. They also have eating problems. Mitsuhide because of how he mixes food badly and Mitsunari because he just forgets to eat while studying.
Masamune Date.
In one audio drama, Masamune challenges shingen when they see each other at the market in azuchi, but when shingen suggests they eat before fighting, masamune decides to take over the kitchen to cook for them both.
In another audio drama, focusing on the characters “Yandere” characteristics, masamune showed to fit the role surprisingly well.
Ranmaru Mori.
In an audio drama, Ranmaru revealed to be very skilled with acting. More specifically, he knows how to pretend to be a girl very well. His voice actor was able to imitate a feminine voice pretty well.
Uesugi-Takeda alliance.
Kenshin Uesugi.
Kenshin saved three bunnies’ lives by simply saying he didn’t feel like eating rabbit soup, and since then those three bunnies keep following him while multiplying.
There is a version of ikemen sengoku that was only released in Japan, on the PS vita. Only a few selected characters were chosen to have routes on it and kenshin is one of them. On it, there is a piece of story where kenshin goes into the future and manages to control a mafia group. (I don’t know Japanese, so I don’t know how accurate this is, but there are cgs of him in a modern attire from the ps vita game).
Shingen Takeda.
There are many things that could be said about him, but one of my favorites is the fact that shingen is one of the few characters that actually swear in the game.
During an audio drama, he reveals that he likes when a girl ties her hair when entering the hot springs, mostly because he likes seeing the nape of their neck getting flushed.
Just an extra one because I love him, shingen has shown that he likes when people, regardless of them being women or men, compliment him. During the event “the art of seduction” where he teaches the other warlords how to flirt, he seems to appreciate when Mitsunari compliments him as a teacher.
Yukimura Sanada.
Yukimura had a different voice actor the start of the game, but he was changed. You can still see his previous voice actor voicing him in the audio drama he is in with Shingen and Yoshimoto.
He has a hard time finding what to talk about with Yoshimoto, to the point where he starts talking about spears and which ones are his preference, Yoshimoto finds the subject boring.
Yoshimoto Imagawa.
Yoshimoto is part of the few characters that were featured in the Ps vita, meaning he had a route out way before it was released in the original game.
I don’t know Japanese and never managed to find a translation for his route in the ps vita version, but there are cgs of him with Mc in the modern era.
Sasuke.
Sasuke was also featured in the audio drama with kenshin and Masamune about the Yandere concept, and was actually spooked by how good he is at that role.
Lone forces.
Motonari Mouri.
Motonari is fluent in many languages, including Portuguese (my first language is Portuguese, so it’s funny seeing him speak in Portuguese sometimes)
He wasn’t in any audio drama, but was first featured in the ikemen sengoku anime.
Kennyo.
Kennyo naturally attracts wild animals because of the energy he has, they seem to sense that Kennyo is a good person.
Kennyo has acted as a father for Ranmaru since he was a child, which would explain why Ranmaru is so dedicated towards Kennyo.

Heisuke's Short Story from the Manyo no Shou Limited Edition Booklet
Since Manyo no Shou stories can be read either before or after playing the game, I will not add spoiler warnings.
Heisuke's a sweetheart in this story:)
This SS was written by 長野 和泉
Tumblr media
“Todo-kun, sorry, but can you go and get Yukimura-kun for me?”
I was asked by Gen-san when I passed by the kitchen.
“Chizuru? Sure, but what do you need her for?”
“I was thinking of buying some sweets for the guests, because I couldn’t find any in the kitchen. I want to consult with Yukimura as to what to buy.
“I-I’ll have you know, I didn’t eat them!”
I knew that Shinpachi had secretly eaten those sweets, so I answered in a panic, and Gen-san looked at me in amazement.
“…No one said you did, Todo-kun. Anyway, that’s the situation, so please help me call Yukimura-kun here.”
“Okay, got it!”
“Hey Chizuru, are you there? Gen-san has something to ask you.”
I stood in front of Chizuru’s room and called out to her from this side of the shoji.
But there was no reply.
(Maybe she went out somewhere? Or maybe she’s cleaning or doing laundry…)
Although I was thinking about leaving, I called out once again just in case.
“Hey, are you there? If you are, please answer me.”
 Finally, the door opened.
“Sorry, Heisuke-kun! I didn’t notice you.”
“N-no, it’s fine, but…”
I noticed that Chizuru, who poked her head out of the room to answer me, looked somewhat sleepy.
“…Were you sleeping?”
Then she lowered her face in embarrassment.
“I was up late last night, so I just… I thought it would be okay if I dozed off a little.”
“Haha. You’re surprisingly careless sometimes, aren’t you?”
I said what I honestly thought, but Chizuru shrank back even more.
“…I’m sorry.”
“No, I didn’t mean to make fun of you or anything… It’s just that, I thought you have always been pretty reliable, so when I see you being careless like this, it’s… it’s…”
(It’s cute.)
I almost blurted out, but stopped myself in mid-sentence.
“When you see me being careless… what?”
Chizuru asked, not quite understanding my meaning, and urged me to continue.
I answered, looking away from her a little.
“It’s… it’s kind of reassuring, or relaxing, you know.”
Then Chizuru pursed her lips a little, looking even more unconvinced.
“…That sounds hard to take as a compliment…”
“I’m not saying it in a bad way, you know (╥ω╥)”
“I know, but…”
She still didn’t seem convinced, a disgruntled expression on her face.
(Even this slightly sulky side of her is cute, but there is no way I could say that out loud.)
(If it were Harada-san, he would just say what’s on his mind without worrying about such things, right?)
Chizuru seemed to have regained her composure, and asked me, “By the way, Heisuke-kun, did you have something to tell me?”
At those words, I realized that I had completely forgotten to tell her the reason why I came here.
“Oh, right! Actually—”
I told her that Gen-san had asked me to call her.
“So, he said he wanted to hear your opinion… Is that okay?”
“Okay? What do you mean?”
“I saw you were napping just now, so I thought you might be tired.”
Then Chizuru answered with a wry smile.
“I’m fine. I just took a nap because my errand ended sooner than I expected.”
“Really?”
Chizuru tends to overwork, so I can’t help but worry about her…
“Yeah, I’m fine. Thank you for worrying about me, Heisuke-kun.”
Seeing Chizuru say that bravely, I felt that it would be worse to keep her here for too long.
“I see. But don’t push yourself too hard, okay? If you’re tired, you need to tell everybody honestly that you need rest. Otherwise, no one will notice.”
Then Chizuru smiled lightly at me and answered.
“I’m fine. Even though I’m busy, I’m not as busy as the other soldiers. Besides-”
As she was about to say something, Chizuru stared at me intently.
When our eyes met like this, I felt uneasy.
But Chizuru seemed unaware of my inner feelings…
“If I am tired, Heisuke-kun, you’ll be the one to notice it, right?”
She said that with a lovely smile.
“Wh…!”
At that moment, my heart beat as if it was punched hard, and I couldn’t look at Chizuru’s face properly.
Of course, Chizuru must have done it unconsciously, and she probably didn’t notice at all how flustered I was by her words.
But I couldn’t act calm, and I turned my face away involuntarily.
“I…today I just happened to notice that you are tired, but I surely can’t always pay attention! So, don’t… don’t push yourself too hard! If you have trouble telling Hijikata-san or Gen-san that you need a break, I can tell them for you!”
I blurted out those words to hide my embarrassment, and Chizuru listened to me with a smile. And then…
“Thank you, Heisuke-kun. If you say so, I’m counting on you.”
She said so, and it was hard to tell whether she already knew my feelings or not.
“I need to go and find Inuoe-san, is that right? Is he at the kitchen? I’ll be back soon.”
“O-Okay, see you then.”
After Chizuru left and the sound of her footsteps could no longer be heard…
(Ah… damn it! I should have said something different. It sounded like I was criticizing Chizuru! Why do I always do this!)
I scratched my head and struggled with my sense of unease.
As I was doing that, I heard light footsteps coming my way, and Chizuru, who was supposed to have left, came back.
“Ch-Chizuru?! What’s wrong?”
I asked her in a panic, and she quietly approached me and stopped in front of me. Then, she brought her face closer with her blushing cheeks…
“Heisuke-kun… my sleepy face must have looked terrible, so please forget about it…”
With that, she turned around and left again.
As I watched her going away…
(There’s no way I can forget about that.)
I thought to myself.

there's only one part left after this... and I still haven't decided what I should do next.
Hakuoki Shinkai Tenun no Shou Stellaworth Booklet “Her Long Day” Part 5
Translation by KumoriYami
Haishi · Harada moment 《21~23 o'clock》
By nine o'clock in the eveening, only the soldiers who had to patrol and do chores were the only ones at headquarters who hadn't gone to sleep…
Additionally, most people were getting ready for bed.
And I had gone to the newly built bathroom [or bathing room? don't feel like looking up a better term] at headquarters that had been built on Dr. Matsumoto's recommendation.
"…I'm sorry, Harada-san. You're still exhausted yet you specifically came here…."
"Don't worry about it, I had nothing to do anyway."
That's right, as a woman wearing men's clothes, I could only take a bath at this time.
If I was left by myself, it wouldn't be difficult for me to be found out, which is why I asked the executives who knew about my circumstances to help.
So today, I had asked Harada-san to stand at the door while I took a bath.
"....Fu...."
"Don't worry, soak for as long as you want. You need to take your time and soak yourself."
"Mm… it's nice to take a bath every now and then. After all, I can usually only wipe my body with a wet towel…"
I sighed deeply while responding to the voice coming through the [folding? tl uses "(standing) screen] screen.
“…It's so comfortable, I feel like I'm going to fall asleep."
"Haha, it's fine to sleep for a bit, I won't peak."
"I'm not worried about that..."
I cupped a handful of hot water in the palms of my hands.
"I ultimately don't look like a woman, so even if someone peeked…"
If I had some sort of feminine charm, I wouldn't have been able to wear men's clothing all the time…
After I uttered self-deprecating words with a forced smile, Harada-san's whispers echoed in my ears.
"....I don't think that's the case."
"Eh?"
"I've thought this before, but i wonder if you've vastly underestimated your own charms?"
"Re-Really...?"
Was it just because of how Harada-san praising people that he was saying that…?
As I thought that, I submerged my shoulders under the water while Harada-san's voice accompanied a bitter laugh.
"Well, it's no wonder since that you don't have anyone else to compare to while living in this place like this. And it's even less noticeable while you wear men's clothing."
"Nn..."
"But I still need to say that that in my eyes, you are absolutely very attractive."
“……”
"…Hey, what's wrong? Did you really fall asleep?"
"N-No, I'm awake!… I'm just going to soak for a while longer and then I'll get out!"
I slowly immersed my nose into the water and blankly reflected.
——Soak for a while longer, at least when I get out, I can use the heat as an excuse for why there's blush on my cheeks…
Zishi · Hijikata moment 《23~1 o'clock》
It was very late at night, and most of the troop had already fallen asleep, and headquarters was completely silent.
I headed to the kitchen to get some water before going to sleep when I suddenly stopped in the corridor.
"....Huh?"
Inside headquarters, which had almost all of its lights out, there was a single room where a faint lamp was shining. That should be…
"HIjikata-san's room...?"
"——I'm sorry for disturbing you at such a late hour."
"…Hm? It's Yukimura. Why are you still awake at this hour?"
"Yes, I just finished taking a bath…"
Hijikata-san looked up from the pile of books on his desks, and I raised my head to see the dark circles below his eyes, as if he could collapse at any moment.
"Um… ou seem to be very tired, so why don't you rest for a bit…?"
"Sorry, I can't go to sleep right now. I still have some written materials that I need to write."
Upon closer inspection, there were various papers that Hijikata-san had handled so far that had been stacked on to the table. As I shifted my attention from the latest document…. I sighed softly and paused.
"Um... Hijikata-san."
"What happened. I'm really busy right now, so we can talk later——"
"——The content of this document appears to be wrong…."
"What are you saying"
"Where the position is, the Chief of the Shinsengumi is written as Okita-san… Furthermore, over here.. the number of the division doesn't appear to be correct…"
“……”
Although there places where the errors were small, the entire thing would need to be rewritten.
Hijikata-san's brows furrowed as he looked at the paper, and I spoke quietly to him.
"I really think that you should take a nap, a nap would be good."
".....Ahah, I get it."
Although there places where the errors were small, the entire thing would need to be rewritten.
"If I write this again, I'll only repeat the same mistakes, which will make everything pointless."
"That's right…! Rest for a bit/Take a break!"
"Nn......Thank you, Yukimura. This type of exhaustion is usually something that you can't notice yourself. Thank you for pointing that out."
When he lied down on the floor with his back to me, he seemed to be smilling. Was I mistaking this? Hijikata-san only took about two or three breaths before he began to store, and I gently draped the coat in the room over his shoulders.
"——I hope you can sleep well."
His now tranquil sleeping face made it seem that his usual solemn frowning expression was a lie. For the sake of not disturbing him, I hurried to quietly leave the room.
---to be concluded---
i'm glad it feels a lot like fall now. I do quite poorly whenever the temperature goes above 25°Cish... one of the reasons why I know I'd never be able to live in Italy (aside from the fact that people smoke way too much for me since I have a bad reaction to smoke 😅)
