According to DC, if you're nonbinary and/or intersex, you get a cool sword and possibly live forever, and I think that's pretty cool

Seven Soldiers of Victory
Shining Knights gather. Will Camelot fall again? Not if the Seven Soldiers of Victory have anything to say about it.
Sir Justin, Shining Knight
Sir Ystin, Shining Knight, Sir Ystina
Gimmix, Jacqueline Pemberton
Green Arrow, Connor Hawke
Crimson Avenger, Jill Carlyle
S.T.A.R. Labs' Guardian, Michael
Stripe, Mike Dugan
Sir Justin and Sir Ystin belong to two different Camelots, but they both see familiar patterns playing out. Mike Dugan has finally graduated to hero status and uses his stepsister's Cosmic Coverter Belt, styling himself as simply...Stripe. Connor Hawke continues the Green Arrow legacy by following in his father's footsteps. Gimmix finds purpose rolling with her uncle's old crew. Guardian, a glorified security guard, takes his tech and skillset to the big leagues and proves himself as worthy as any other Guardian to weild the shield. Crimson Avenger fights along the other Soldiers of Victory, but stands ready to avenge them if they fall.

Watched an episode of Spirit World where Dr. Maas mentioned that there's been more than one Camelot? Whaat?
Why we are asking a Superhero Historian these questions and not a scholar of British Antiquity I do not know but let's see what I can dig up.
Ok so, from what I can dig up, this theory (still VERY controversial in historian circles which is probably why Maas brought it up. The man is nothing if he's not a gadfly) was first inspired by some discrepincies between the stories of the two individuals who have called themselves the Shining Knight.
(A news image of Sir Ystin appearing from a natural time pool just outside Los Angeles) This young warrior (Ystin/Ystina describes themselves as being "both man and woman" so not non binary but I've had trouble finding the right term since they're not medically intersex as far as I can tell) held many distinct similarities with the Sir Justin that was uncovered and became a mystery man in the 1940s. Their names are similar, they both possess a magical pegasus as a steed, both served as knights of the round table after being mentored under Sir Galahad and Merlin, both were present for the fall of Camelot, both were sent spiraling through time to the modern day soon after the Strife of Camlann The head scratching part is the details that DON'T line up. Sir Justin lived under a king who spoke an archaic form of Welsh and was named Arthur Pendragon. Sir Ystin served under a king named Artus the Bear that spoke a much old Brittonic or Celto-British language. Sir Justin remember clearly the fall of Jason Blood and his betrayal of Camelot at its 11th hour. Sir Ystin remembers no such knight first hand and their experience of the fall of Camelot is very different. Sir Justin's Camelot was on the site of what is now Caerleon in present day Wales. Sir Ystin's recollection of geography is closer to modern day Leicester in England.
Most confusingly. Both warriors served as the Shining Knight, on the Knights of the Round Table, working closely with the King and his court AND were both present at the Strife of Camlann but NEITHER ONE HAD EVER HEARD OF THE OTHER.
It was as if you had taken two different versions of the same figure, from the same myth, several centuries apart and manifested them fully formed in real life. The same enough to be unmistakable but too different in the details to ever fit together. This gave rise to the modern theory that there was more than one Kingdom of Camelot but in fact the mantle of "Camelot" was adopted by many powerful kingdoms across the British Isles. Perhaps as many as a half a dozen or more stretching from Pre-Roman Britannia to the Norman Invasion. Whether it was just a set of affectations that were taken up for prestige by various dynasties aping mostly oral tradition OR whether there was some kind of arcane/occult cycle in play perpetuating the refounding, flourishing and eventual fall of Camelot for some kind of magical reason is still being sorted out by people much smarter than me.

“It was initially assumed that Ystin was a girl who adjusted her name and fashion to pretend she was a boy because girls could not become knights. It was later established that Ystin identified themselves as "not just a man or a woman. I'm both" Look what I found in DC universe. Not just non-binary but also was Arthur’s Knight. I’m in love. Also - I know that it’s some freaky coincidence (?) but Ystina kinda sounds like “Truth, Verity” in Russian.

@ DC COMICS: GLOBAL GUARDIANS (creative team- my dreams!): -Doctor Mist [West Africa] -Longshadow [U.S. Native / Indigenous] -El Dorado [Mexico, Central America] -City Boy [Korea / U.S. / worldwide rep] -Jet [Jamaica / Caribbean islands] -Alinta (new hero name, not Bolt) [Australia] -Freedom Beast [South Africa] -Shining Knight / Ystina [U.K.] -Fire & Ice / Beatriz Da Costa [South America] & Tora Olafsdotter [Eastern Europe]

-Siegfried [Asgard, Nordic Europe] -Toshio Eto ('Samurai' reimagined) [Japan] -Golden Pharaoh (reimagined) [Northeast Africa] -Equinox [Canadian First Nations] -Solstice [India / South Asia] -Ya'wara [South America Native / Indigenous] -Olympian (AU Jason) [Greece / Mediterranean zone] -Ha'Wea [Atlantis, Pacific Islands?] -Rayhan Mazin (new name) [Middle East]

Just as an aside, I've never really liked the idea of the Global Guardians being these one-dimensional randos who don't have any actual substance or backstory or reason to care about them. So, instead of some 'classic' members like (Godiva, Crimson Fox, Tasmanian Devil, etc), I gathered up some characters w/ international roots, most of which have some degree of background (or at least interesting potential that I think is worth elaborating on), in the hopes of assembling them for a greater heroic purpose. And of course, they represent their respective regions, but work together, as missions call for their distinct powers, skills and/or experience and/or expertise. Apologies for any geographical errors or oversights, I tried to be accurate & respectful as possible, but I hope y'all enjoy! :)

Easy, no. But possible. Because this is my territory. Spells, hocus pocus, demons. It's meat and drink to me. This so-called team... we don't actually have to like each other, do we?
