Hey so like I don't sell on Etsy but I have spent about four hours navigating Etsy support on behalf of my kid's shop and uh - holy shit.

It's bad. It's REALLY bad.

Like I've never seen a customer service system worse than this website. It's baffling. I have been upset all day and it's not even my hard work that's being wiped for seemingly no reason.

Apparently Etsy will suspend new shops for a variety of reasons - even just to review them. They won't tell you when/if they unban them. They won't tell you WHY they wipe them, no matter how much you ask. If your account gets permabanned you can always appeal - of course, that assumes you know what you did wrong. Which they won't tell you.

My kid was just making bracelets. They weren't violating IP. The issue could've been as simple as a mistyped routing number, but they won't tell us what happened and are instead choosing to shut them down instead. Not only can my kid never sell on Etsy again at the moment (assuming they don't randomly change their mind), they can't shop either. For seemingly no reason.

Etsy is trash. Fuck Etsy.

So yeah they're absolutely devastated. So if any small business people have words of advice or comfort please send them my way and I'll pass it along to them.
