You’re a Wizard.
Remus bit his cheek, the juvenile words “Detention, Prewett” died on the tip of his tongue.
No, he reminded himself harshly. That’s Fred and George Weasley. Not Fabian and Gideon.
I’m not a Prefect, I’m the bloody Professor, Remus grit his teeth.
Luna Lovegood floated into the room and Remus saw unwelcome visions, the present melting away to accommodate the past. Regulus Black was there, guiding Pandora when she was batting her lashes at Xenophilius Lovegood.
Draco Malfoy was an amusing mixture of Lucius and Narcissa. He stuck his nose up and raised one manicured brow like his mother, but his ugly words and prideful manners were all his father.
Remus laughed guilelessly, what was wrong with him. Fraternising with the enemy, Moony? A very familiar voice chirped in his head.
It hurt so bad.
Every time Hermione Granger raised her hand, to the chagrin of the rest of the class, Remus saw Lily Evans. Her fierce intelligence and determination a weapon to dismantle the prejudice faced by Muggleborns. Lily would’ve loved her.
He wiped his face with tired hands.
Honestly, Remus was never meant to survive this. He was simply unfortunate, unlucky. An anomaly.
Hah, now suffer.
There was Neville Longbottom, with ears that stuck out like his father and a shy smile to match his mother’s. I’ll watch over him now, Remus promised the smiling Alice and Frank in his memories, apologising for the years gone by.
Then there were the little things.
Snape always caused a spark of his old Marauder spirit to overtake his senses. It also brought forth very vivid sounds of two devils whispering into his ears. Potter and Black, always at the crime scene.
No, no. He batted that thought away before he could spiral.
Remus found himself shocked by the streaks of white in Minerva McGonagall’s hair, which 15 years ago that would’ve caused an uproar. Not even his own greying roots had caused him so much sadness.
His heart ached when he saw Madam Pomfrey pressing her knuckles into her strained back. How much had he missed while hiding from this wretched world?
But what struck a raw nerve was Harry Potter, of course.
The toad green of his eyes and the bird’s nest of his hair. It had been so long but all he could see in the young Potter boy was his friend. A friend who had betrayed him, but his friend nonetheless.
I know you, he pursed his lips to prevent screaming that when he was addressed as Professor Lupin and not Unc’e Mooy. He had to remind himself that he wasn’t the one who could get Prongslet to burp or take a nap anymore. He was the weird, mismatched man for a teacher.
You know Harry doesn’t think of you like that. Ah, Lily, wise as always.
The James in Harry Potter stuck out like a sore thumb, much like his hair, when he whizzed across the quidditch pitch with innate talent, when he couldn’t hold back his tongue while talking to Snape, when he faffed about in lessons. But it pained more to see Harry stand up for his friends, like his father had always done, and when he went searching for trouble despite being explicitly warned against it.
Oh, how I miss you Prongs.
He sat back in his chair, creaky and hard as it was. There was only one person he hadn’t found in his students.
Remus closed his eyes.
Sirius Black grinned at him from behind his eyelids. Miss me, Moony?

Tumblr media
the sun shone bright, its rays gently falling on your wet skin as you watched him swimming in your pool.
it was the first time remus came to visit you to los angeles as you've been in london thousand of times and wanted to show him the beauty your state has to offer. he seemed to like it so far, taking some rest from rainy england in sunny california.
the golden liquid you poured into two wine glasses almost matched the color of his hair as he swam from one end of the pool to another — to you. you handed him one of the glasses and he took it from you with a smile on his face. your fingers brushed with his, sending electricity through your entire body.
"to being young," said remus.
you nodded. "to being young."
clink, clink.
all you needed was him.
——————————————————————
later that day, remus took you out for dinner. you believed you've been in every single restaurant in l.a. but your boyfriend proved you wrong.
the moment you walked in, you felt almost everyone's eyes on you. anxiety rushed through your body. almost as if remus could feel it, he gave you a reassuring squeeze and the weight on your shoulders suddenly dropped.
he lead you to an empty table by the window and pulled out your chair. you sent him a smile before sitting down and he took a seat opposite to you.
that was when you made the mistake to look around, locking eyes with numerous people who weren't very excited to see you and remus together.
"ignore them, dove," remus spoke, reading the menu. "they're just jealous of how beautiful you look tonight."
you knew that wasn't the truth but you appreciated him trying enough not to say anything about it anymore. you nodded and picked up the menu and did your best to ignore the glares.

@user6346873 wasn't she literally dating sirius black like a week ago? bffr girl 💀
-> @siriusblack no, you bffr, she wasn't.
@remuslupinsgf NOO REMUS WHY. she'll cheat on you like she did on everyone else.
-> @user2578584 name one person she cheated and give me a proof
-> @remuslupinsgf whatever. her movies suck anyway
@user742795853 slut.
okay, maybe reading the comments of this post wasn't the best idea, you thought to yourself as if it wasn't completely obvious.
it was the morning after your date with remus and you couldn't understand how these pictures were up already. doesn't the media have better things to do instead of not respecting your privacy and talking about whos hand you're holding?
what also made you angry was that none of the comments seemed to be mentioming the fact that remus recently broke up with someone. you, on the other hand, hadn't been in a relationship for six months.
not that you wanted everyone to attack your boyfriend but you'll be the one to pay the price for the things you two have been doing together. it wasn't fair.
"what got you upset like that?" you jumped at the sound of remus's deep voice from his spot beside you. you glanced at him, your eyes softening at how beautiful he looked lying in your bed with his hair all messy.
"nothing," you mumbled, turned off your phone and placed it at your bedside table. you sighed and got up from the warmth of your covers (and remus's body) before saying, "i'm gonna go grocery shopping. there's absolutely nothing in here. you want something?"
"i'll go with you."
"i'd rather go alone. i'll be right back."
and then you left him there, in your bedroom with confusion written all over his pretty features.
——————————————————————
there was no point in keeping your relationship a secret. everyone knew. the picture of your and remus's faces were plastered on the front page of every magazine in north america and united kingdom (remus's friend james said so). still, you tried your best to spend as little time as possible with your boyfriend in public.
unfortunately, as soon as you left the gates of your property to meet remus, you were blinded by the harsh flashes of the cameras. it took your brain a second to register what was going on. remus was waiting there. his two bodyguards were trying to keep the paparazzi away from the two of you.
"y/n!"
"y/n! over here!"
"y/n, what's your message to the haters?"
"y/n, did you hear—"
"i'm sorry," remus spoke loudly so you could hear him well through the voices of the yelling men. "they followed me all the way from hollywood boulevard to here," he reached for your hand and interlinked his fingers with yours. "we couldn't shake them off."
before you could even open your mouth to reply, you were interrupted.
"remus! there's a rumour y/n has been hooking up with sirius black. what do you have to say to that? is it true?"
he completely ignored the question. he knew it wasn't true. you knew he knew.
remus got the door of the car for you and waited for you to get in before shutting it close. when he took a seat next to you and kissed you a "hello" before saying, "you look beautiful tonight", it was easy to forget all about the reality.
——————————————————————
you both were invited to the met gala which took place the very next week. the theme this year was victorian england so you were wearing a pink-white dress with poofy skirt, holding an umbrella of the same colors in your right hand and remus's hand in your left. your eyes were practically glued to him. he looked so handsome in his white shirt, which he had a vest suit over, and dark grey pants. everyone seemed to think so.
while posing for photos on the stairs, remus suddenly turned into you. his face was, out of the blue, too close to yours. you could see it in his eyes, feeling like you could read his mind.
"it's a big mistake," you said, though your smile said otherwise. "it might blow up in your pretty face."
the voice in your head was screaming at him.
do it anyway!
and he's going to.

The summer before their sixth year would be one to be put in the books.
The whole off-season was spent traveling back and forth between 12 Grimmauld and Malfoy Manor. At first, Y/N didn’t mind since she got to see her beloved older cousin, Narssica. Evenings, after dinner, were spent gossiping with Bella and Cissa. It reminded her of when they were young and it brought her a new sense of comfort until even that was gone once again. Like everything good in her life, it slipped away like a bottle of wine and shattered on the floor. Evening gossip sessions turned to meetings at the large dining table with people she had only heard of before. She clung to Regulus for as long as she could before he too was dragged into the meetings and not long after she followed him. Both of them were initiated into the Deatheaters much against their will but no one would know that.
~
Platform 9 ¾ was crowded and suffocating and the Black siblings made their way to the train. Their parents decided against escorting them to the station this year in favor of attending an important meeting. Regulus and Y/N truly didn’t mind if it meant not having to hear another lecture before the school year. The only other difference this year was the matching tattoos they had hidden under their black sleeves.
The familiar mop of raven-black curls caught her attention and made her freeze in her steps and her trunk slam into her heels. She saw James Potter jump onto Sirius’ back, both of them shouting in celebration of making it to their seventh year. Remus Lupin stood beside them laughing at their antics with Mr. and Mrs. Potter. Lupin met her eyes and gave her a smile out of sympathy only causing her to roll her eyes and quickly catch up with Regulus.
“The prince of Slytherin and Little Black herself grace us with their presence!”
The sound of the familiar voice pulled a small smile out of Y/N as she made it to their compartment. “Evan.” She nodded politely and sat down next to her designated seat by the window. “Shut up.”
Regulus smirked and sat across the compartment from her, next to Pandora. Barty and Evan sat to the right of Y/N, trying not to bother her since they sensed her sour mood.
The loud commotion of shuffling feet and shoving shoulders could be heard through the glass sliding door of their compartment. No one needed to be told who was making all the noise since the train had taken off already and the Marauders were making their way down the hall to their own compartment. Regulus completely ignored them as they walked by but Y/N felt her heart clench when Sirius came into view, but only for a few fleeting seconds. Pandora gave her a small smile to which she smiled back.
~
The Great Hall was buzzing with new year excitement and fresh energy from the first-year students. Y/N sat on the left side of the Slytherin table with Regulus by her side and Pandora on her other. While Dumbledore gave his typical speech, Y/N rested her head in the palm of her hand with her elbow on the table. She felt a pair of eyes on her and tried her hardest to ignore them but when she noticed them not leaving her she finally turned her head to look and met eyes that mirror her brother’s next to her. Sirius was whispering into James’ ear while staring at Y/N. She rolled her eyes and flipped him off before directing her attention back to Dumbledore.
“Let the feast begin!”
“About damn time, I’d say,” Barty muttered from across the table causing Y/N to laugh, bringing a smile to her friends’ faces at the sound.
The group ate their meal with a light conversation floating around. All of them avoided the events that occurred over the last few months. Once they all finished they decided to call it an early night and all started heading back to their common room.
In the corridor outside the Great Hall, the marauders stood in a huddle with some of the Gryffindor girls Y/N recognized from some of her classes.
“Reggie!” Sirius’ voice echoed down the hall causing both younger Black siblings to cringe. “How was your summer with Mummy and Daddy?”
“Yes, a pleasure to see you as well, Sirius.”
The older Black seemed to ignore Y/N until Regulus tried to usher her down the hall in the direction of their common room. “Y/N/N, how was your summer coddling up to Mummy Dearest?”
“Sod off, Sirius.”
“Oooh, looks like you found your voice,
“Black…” Evan spoke up from behind in a warning tone. “I’ll give you a fair warning. Stay in your lane.”
Sirius smirked in response, loving the rise he was getting out of the group of younger Slytherins. All the kids he grew up with and was told he should be friends with. “Stay out of it, Rosier.”
“Y/N/N, let’s go.” Regulus placed his hands on her shoulders from behind and guided her away from their brother and his friends.
Sirius scoffed and turned around, “Cowards.”
Y/N’s head snapped up and her fists clenched at her sides as she stepped out of Regulus’ hold. Two years of Sirius living at the Potters. Two years of Y/N hurting from the loss of her older brother. Two years of being looked down upon*. “You would know all about cowardice wouldn’t you, Sirius? Takes one to know one, I’d say.”
Sirius clenched his fist and opened his mouth to speak but Y/N didn’t give him the chance.
“Running away from home? From the consequences of your birthright and last name. Left your younger siblings to deal with the aftermath of it all, didn’t you?”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about. I had to leave.”
“Maybe you did, but if that’s true then don’t you think we needed to leave as well?”
Sirius stared at her with wide eyes as hurt coursed through his heart at her words.
“That’s what I thought.”
Y/N spun on her heel and walked back to the common room with the others behind her.
~
Y/N and Regulus Black. The pride and jewels of the Black family. They were nearly school royalty and most would be jealous of the pair. They had everything they could ever wish for coming from one of the most prestigious pureblood families. No one would dare say a word to their faces. But behind their backs? That was a different story.
James had heard so many different stories about the pair from other students and his best mate. Gossip about the Black family constantly flew through the halls and corridors of Hogwarts. He knew Sirius came from a stuck-up pureblood family, his parents told him that when he was young. He knew of all the Sacred Twenty-Eight families. He was also aware that his family could’ve been a part of it had his father chosen so.
He always viewed the Black family as picture-perfect but had learned it was far from the truth. When Sirius shared what his family was like at home, his heart ached for all three Black children. It wasn’t fair for any of them, and they didn’t deserve that life. James knew that. But who was he to overstep the lines of his brotherhood with Sirius and tell him his siblings needed the same help he did? He tried to once and only got into an argument with him. From that moment on, James promised himself he wouldn’t cross that line again. But James had too kind of a heart to follow through with that promise.
~
Sniffles were heard through the otherwise silent corridor as James froze at the entrance. “Hello?”
A small hiccup sounded followed by muttered cursing.
“Hello? Are you okay?” James treaded slowly down the stone hallway, looking in each of the large alcoves as he passed them.
“I’m fine, go away.”
James’ head tilted at the sound of the slightly familiar voice. “Y/N?”
It wasn’t often that she could be found alone, but then again, it wasn’t often James was alone either.
“I’m fine. Piss off.” Y/N cursed right before James came to the window she was seated at.
James looked her over and noticed her bloodshot eyes and the tear streaks that stained her cheeks. Her right hand tugged at her left sleeve almost begging it to stretch longer over her hand. “What… What happened?”
Y/N laughed humorlessly as she tried to quickly blink away her tears. “You can’t take a hint can you, Potter?”
“I just asked a simple question, Black. No need to be snippy with me.”
Y/N stared at him for a moment too long before forcing her gaze to the window beside her. “I said I’m fine.” Her voice sounded weak and she cursed herself for it.
James lowered himself to the seat across from her. “Is it… is everything at home alright?”
Her eyes snapped back to his, cold and glaring. “Bugger off, won’t you? Don’t ask questions about things you know nothing about and have no right to know about.”
He held his hands up in defense. “Alright, alright. Sorry.”
Y/N’s eyes flooded with confusion at his words. “Wh-why are you sorry?”
“I overstepped a line. Didn’t mean to pry.” He explained gently.
She huffed but didn’t respond for a moment. She avoided eye contact and wrung her fingers together. “I’m fine really.”
“So you said.”
She sniffled quietly, clearing her throat. “So why are you still here?”
“Why are you still here?” James shot back with a quirk of his lips, not at all put off by her nearly bashful behavior.
“I-” Y/N scoffed in frustration. “I was here first, minding my business before you came along to bother me.”
“What if I was just going for a stroll before I decided to take a seat? Not everything is about you, Black.”
“What if it is?” She shot back, her lips settling into a small teasing smile of her own. It’s been so long since she had carried on a normal, light-hearted conversation with someone who hardly knew anything about her. Sure James knew more about her than most, but he was just as much a stranger to her as the next Gryffindor.
‘Beautiful.’ James smiled at the girl across from him as she relaxed and allowed herself a moment to breathe. He can’t remember ever hearing Y/N jest with her friends or seeing her truly smile at anyone other than Pandora or Regulus. He scolded himself for his train of thought. He can’t be thinking of his best friend’s sister as beautiful.
After a beat of silence, Y/N smiled shyly at James. “Thanks.”
“For what?” He smirked.
She rolled her eyes and glared at him playfully causing him to chuckle.
“You’re welcome.”
The pair went their separate ways, not bringing up the encounter to any of their friends. Keeping the moment for themselves, both deciding it was too precious to share.

Quidditch Pitch - Nov. 27 - word count: 710 - @wolfstarmicrofic
The Gryffindor stands were buzzing with energy as the players zoomed onto the Quidditch pitch.
Up in the commentator’s box, Remus Lupin adjusted the enchanted microphone and smiled. “Welcome to today’s match: Gryffindor versus Slytherin!” His voice echoed over the stadium. “Let’s hope no one dies today, yeah?”
McGonagall was shaking her head exasperatedly beside him.
Remus sighed. The introductions were always the most boring part. “On the Gryffindor side, we have Alex Brown, Mackenzie Glen, and James Potter, Chasers. Our Beaters are Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon, and Cassidy West and Noah Logsden as Keeper and Seeker respectively.”
Sirius tilted his broom in a mock bow towards the dirty blonde when Remus said his name.
“On the Slytherin side,” the werewolf continued, “we have Dorcas Meadowes, Mark Sanders, and Darcy Avery as Chasers, Kim Johnson and Carmilla Rivers as Beaters, Jackson Mulciber as Keeper, and their Seeker is Regulus Black. Yes, another Black! Because one wasn’t enough, apparently.”
Regulus scowled at the commentary box, adjusting his gloves.
“And they’re off!” Remus announced as Madam Hooch blew her whistle. The players soared into the air, James immediately snatching the Quaffle.
“Potter has the Quaffle- shockingly, not his biggest achievement today. He managed to  not fall on his face this morning, folks. It’s a miracle.”
James threw him a dirty look as he dodged a Bludger.
“Oh, McKinnon with a fantastic hit! That’s right, show them how Gryffindor Beaters roll.”
Meanwhile, Regulus darted across the pitch. Remus just managed to catch a glimpse of his face before he flew away.
“And there’s the younger Black giving us all a masterclass on brooding while flying. A true Slytherin strategy- if they can’t win, they’ll look better losing.”
James shot toward the goalposts, weaving through the Slytherin defense with Sirius taking out anyone who got too close.
“Potter goes for it- he shoots, he scores!” Remus cheered. “Look at him. So proud of himself. That’s Gryffindor ten, Slytherin zero!”
A few moments passed without any excitement- until a well-aimed Bludger from Sirius sent the Quaffle spiraling out of a Slytherin’s grasp. James dove to intercept.
“Look at older Black and McKinnon proving that teamwork makes the dream work! And Potter- oh, look at that catch! Someone’s showing off.”
Remus watched as Sirius and Regulus crossed paths mid-air, gazes locking briefly before the younger flew away in search of the Snitch.
“And there’s the Black brothers, sharing a tender sibling moment,” the werewolf drawled. “Truly touching. Almost makes you forget they’re trying to knock each other out of the sky.”
James’s next pass was intercepted by a Slytherin Chaser, who charged toward the Gryffindor goalposts.
“Finally, some action from Slytherin! And there goes West, looking vaguely concerned. Can she- oh, no, she can’t. Goal for Slytherin. It’s ten-all, folks!”
A Bludger shot past his friend by mere inches, Sirius swerving out of the way when he saw it hurtling at him. Remus breathed out a breath of relief, announcing, “Sirius Black narrowly avoids a Bludger! Shocking reflexes from a man who tripped over his own feet this morning.”
A cheer sounded as Marlene sent Carmilla reeling with a Bludger to the shoulder.
“McKinnon, good job,” Remus said, his grin audible. “Show those Slytherins who’s boss around here.”
Eventually, Regulus dove for the ground, looking as if he had spotted the Snitch. Noah followed him, but the moment he realized it was a feint, he swerved upwards.
“And Baby Black pulls a Wronski Feint! Probably trying to pull more than that today, if you know what I mean,” Remus remarked with a sly tone.
Despite the chaos, the match pressed on.
“And that’s Potter with another goal- I think his ego is taking over, folks.”
Noah suddenly shot forwards, having spotted the Snitch. Regulus tailed him, but the Gryffindor grabbed it a millisecond before the younger Black brother would have, cinching a win.
Remus leaned back in his chair, smiling. “And that’s the game, folks! Gryffindor takes it, thanks to teamwork, skill, and, let’s face it, sheer dumb luck. Better luck next time, Slytherin. ”
He started a timer in his mind. One, two, three…
Sirius flew right in front of the commentary box, grinning broadly. “I guess that good luck kiss really did work, Moony.”

[The Lost Pater]
Tumblr media
We Have To Be More Careful Nowadays
[Chapter 1]
Tumblr media
September 12th, 1982
“Sirius, Remus,” came the soft, urgent voice, pulling the two weary men from their brooding thoughts. Their faces, lined with exhaustion from sleepless nights, turned toward the person calling them. It was Albus Dumbledore, his eyes filled with a sadness that matched the gravity of the moment. He moved swiftly, closing the door to his office with a muted click that seemed to echo in the heavy silence.
“It’s time.”
Sirius and Remus exchanged a look of profound sorrow, words failing them in the face of their grim task. Remus’s gaze fell to the tiny bundle nestled against Sirius’s shoulder, the baby, still so very young, barely a year old. Gently, Remus’s hand rested on the infant’s head, feeling the warmth and softness of the child’s uniquely coloured, short hair one last time.
Sirius, with an expression of barely contained grief, leaned closer to the baby’s ear, his breath warm and trembling. “It will be okay,” he promised, his voice steady despite the emotion threatening to overwhelm him. “I won’t let this be the last time we see each other.”
Tumblr media
September 1st, 1993
“Phie, c’mon, we must get going, quickly!” Remus Lupin yelled from the kitchen in his tiny home.
Ophelia, the eleven year old girl in the next room, scrunched her face, waking up from her fathers yelling. Today marked her first day as a student at Hogwarts, and her father's inaugural day as a teacher.
“Ophelia, I’m not going to ask again.” Remus began knocking on the girl's door.
“mm…It’s too early.” She replied from behind the door, beginning to stretch herself. After knocking enough times, Remus opened the door in a last effort to awake his daughter.
“You’re not even out of bed?” Her platinum white hair, which contrasted sharply with the dark blue of her bedding layed messily across her face. He brushed her platinum locks out of her face and gently grabbed her arms to lift her up. “You’re not going to have time to pack Ophelia.”
“Packed last night.” She replied, pointing to her suitcase, a clear sign she was indeed her father's daughter.
“Alright well, you still need to eat breakfast and pack your things in the car, so let’s hurry.”
Ophelia finally opened her eyes, not without harshly rubbing them so she could see properly.
“Are you excited for your first day? Remus asked. His voice was always very soft in the morning, knowing his daughter wasn’t fond of mornings.
“I guess…just nervous,” she shrugged. “And what about you? Professor Lupin.” She teased her father, making both of them chuckle.
“I’m a bit nervous too. Remember, we’re both having our first day, it’ll be okay.” She nodded, leaning in for a hug, taking comfort in his words. The stubborn part of her hated that he was usually right. “But, right now it’s time to get ready, we have about an hour, so we have to hurry—no going back to sleep.”
Ophelia stood up as Remus left and stretched her body again. With her bags packed and her carefully picked outfit hanging on the wardrobe, she began to get ready.
Her black cat, Salem, layed on her bed, watching his owner mindlessly walk in circles as she brushed her teeth, trying to wake up. She had just adopted him from the Magical Menagerie a month prior. Remus had promised he would get her a cat for her first year, after declining to give her a sibling.
Meanwhile, Remus was in the kitchen throwing away another egg he had burned after turning his head for what he would call “one second”. Ophelia had just walked out of her room, walking in on Remus pushing his hair back in frustration.
“Toast is fine, dad.” She told him, trying to reassure him in his efforts. Remus gave a breathy chuckle at his daughter.
“I wanted to make you a big breakfast for your big day.” He replied, throwing his tea towel over his shoulder.
“Thank you, but it’s okay. Maybe it’s for the best anyways…I'm so nervous that I don't have a big appetite today, and I’ve been craving some marmalade toast.” She gave him her classy big smile that showed off the gap in her two upper teeth. Over the past couple years, the gap had started to close and Remus noticed it every time, it was a reminder each time she smiled that she was growing up.
“Marmalade toast it is.”
Tumblr media
So they both sat and ate their toast. Remus began reviewing their schedule once more. He explained what to expect at King’s Cross Station, how to enter Platform 9¾, and what would happen during the sorting ceremony, trying to recall the details of his own first day. He made a big emphasis on listening to the teacher and not wandering off alone. Though this was his 5th time he’d gone over it this week, Ophelia listened attentively.
“It is always very important that you are always in sight of a Hogwarts staff member, no matter what, you have to promise me that you won’t wander off,” he urged, watching her nod, though he could tell she was growing tired of the repetition.
“I mean it, Phie, it’s not safe to be alone, not this year”
“What’s different about this year?” Ophelia asked, shoving her last piece of toast in her mouth.
“It’s just..the crime rate has been going up…since the seventies…it’s a much different world since I was in school. We have to be more careful nowadays” He stammered over his words. “You promise me you’ll listen? No pushing boundaries, please?”
“Of course I will, dad.” Remus stood, collected their empty plates, and pulled her into a quick hug before placing them in the sink. He usually avoided magic for chores, but with time running short, he used the Scourgify spell to clean up quickly.
“Oh, one more thing I don’t want you outside alone either, so wait for me before you pack your suitcase in the car.” Ophelia gave him a confused look, he was definitely a strict dad, always worrying about where she was, who she was around, but today, she felt he was strangely on edge. “Just a precaution.” He replied in response to her confused look.
Ophelia accepted her father’s strange demand, and went to her room to grab her suitcase.
“Alright Salem, time to go bud.” She grabbed the black cat and started to place him in his travel carrier. Remus had warned her that she would have to get the cat used to the carrier, before her first school day, but everytime she tried, she couldn’t bear to watch the cat meow in the carrier. Today, however, it felt like a real struggle. “Please, Salem, it’s only for today, please.”
Finally, after zipping up the cat carrier, she dragged her bags to the entryway, opening the door to put them on the veranda, while she waited for Remus.
Salem’s fighting began to increase, his little paws hitting the sides of the carrier.
“Okay, okay, you can come out until dad is ready, but then you have to go back in.” The young girl started to unzip the carrier, and before it was even a quarter of a way open, Salem leaped out and ran out the open front door. “Wait! Salem, no!!” Ophelia yelled at the cat who was now taking a leisurely stroll down the drive. Ophelia calmed down as she saw the cat come to a stop next to their car.
“I was trying to be nice Salem, now you’re going back in your crate for being naughty.” Salem started to loudly hiss across the street as she picked him up, which he had never done before. “Well, you shouldn’t have run away.” She replied to the cat.
Salem continued to hiss, still staring off into the distance. Ophelia followed the cat's line of vision to the bushes on the other side of the road. The bushes began to ruffle, despite the stillness of the air.
Suddenly, a large black dog emerged from the bushes. Salem’s hissing began to become more rampant and he began to squirm in Ophelia’s arms. The dog kept intense eye contact with Ophelia, slightly creeping forward, as Ophelia walked backwards. The dog disappeared back into the bushes before it could do anything else.

“Ophelia!” Remus shouted and walked out the front door. She jumped and whipped her head towards her dad
“What?” She yelled out, her fathers calling of her name coming out of nowhere and scaring her.
“I thought I told you to wait for me before you packed your bags.” He stepped closer to his daughter, seeing that her body was frozen in fear. “What happened? Are you okay? Did you see someone?” Panic crept into his voice as he scanned the surroundings.
“I-no-Salem got out and–I didn’t hear you coming–I’m sorry.” Remus softened at his daughter's explanation, feeling bad for scaring her.
“That’s alright, let’s go put Salem in his crate and put our suitcases in the car, then we’ll be on our way.”
They placed Salem in his carrier (much to his dismay) and Remus began putting their suitcases in the boot of the car. Ophelia opened the passenger door with Salem’s carrier in hand. ust then, a brown owl swooped down, landing on the roof of the car with a letter clutched in its beak. Both of them jumped, surprised by the sudden arrival.
“Another welcome letter?” Remus chuckled, not remembering as many greetings before his first year.
“Maybe,” Ophelia carefully grabbed the envelope from the bird's mouth and watched it fly away. “This one doesn't say Hogwarts though.” She said out loud, looking at both sides of the envelope, Remus furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
Ophelia,
Hogwarts is a place like no other. Dive in headfirst—learn everything you can, but remember to enjoy yourself too. This is a time for discovering not just spells and potions, but also for making friends who will stick with you for life. Cherish these friendships; they’re one of the most precious things you’ll gain from your time at Hogwarts.
Though, you must choose your friends wisely. Not everyone will have your best interests at heart, so trust your instincts and stick with those who are good and true. Protect the ones who are good.
Stay safe.
And a final note—listen to your dad. He has a lot of experience under his belt. His guidance will be invaluable, so take his advice to heart, even if you don’t always want to agree.
Best of luck.
“What does it say, Phie?” Remus asked, but Ophelia was still engrossed in the letter. “Ophelia, what does it say?” He began to grow impatient and walked over to his daughter, though he wanted to, he used his manners and didn’t grab the letter from the girl's hands.
“I think it’s just another welcoming letter, they must have just forgotten to add their seal.” She handed the piece of parchment to her dad.
As he read, Remus felt his chest tighten, folding the paper back into its envelope with urgency.
“Alright, time to go.” He hurried Ophelia into their car and shut the door behind her. Glancing at the surrounding houses, he quickly made his way to the driver’s seat.
“Is everything okay?” Ophelia asked her dad, observing his more frantic behaviour.
“Yes, all good.” He locked the door and clicked in his seatbelt. “Just excited for our first day, are you ready?” Ophelia accepted his explanation, as he had already seemed very worried for his first day of teaching.
“I guess.” Ophelia shrugged. Remus chuckled and ruffled his daughter's bright white hair affectionately.
“We’re going to have a great year.”

— Golden Years
remus lupin x reader
platonic!marauders x reader
where the gryffindors threw a party and a very drunk Remus convinced his dove to dance with him.
a/n: haven’t written in like 4 months but my everlasting love for Remus has successfully defeated my writers block.
Gryffindor house parties were usually thrown solely after won quidditch matches or holidays. Such holidays also included birthday parties.
This particular party however was vastly different from any other ones. Mostly because the designated sober friend was usually Remus.
Honestly, you should’ve expected something was going on when James walked up to you completely sober whining about how Lily was talking to another boy, ignoring him.
“This is the best fucking thing I’ve seen in ages!” Sirius laughed wildly, sweating before he turning to make a U shape with his hands.
“Cinematic,” he sighed out and turned to see your confused expression and James’s scoff of chuckles.
You shook your head, “what on earth are you talking about?”
In turn his eyes widened almost comically. “You don’t know?” He stepped closer to you, “honestly I thought he would’ve hounded on you already!” He exclaimed.
You furrowed your brows deeper, “who? Remus?” You guessed and he nodded, grabbing your shoulders and directing you towards where the lycanthrope was.
“There he is, the wanker!” He laughed pointing to Remus who was dancing rather stupidly, long arms going everywhere and hair disrupted.
“He’s the only one dancing?” You laughed incredulously.
James rolled his eyes and spoke up, “he’s the only one that’s in love with David Bowie.” At that moment, Golden Years by the man himself echoed throughout the common room. “See!”
You shook your head and stalked closer to your boyfriend with a low bye to the pair. “Good luck!” You heard him call with a bark of laughter and shove from James.
Remus had lost his sweater somewhere and was in a loose very old shirt that was stretched at the neck. “Golden years!” He sung drunkenly, and turned to see you approaching him with a funny smile.
Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, Angel
“My darling aaangeell!” His voice matched with the song and he wrapped his long arms around your waist, shoulders moving weirdly to the beat.
“Remus,” you laughed. “what is going on?” You widened your eyes as he started jumping up and down, moving your hips with his big hands.
He widened his eyes adoringly, “what’s going on is my dove won’t dance with me!” He grabbed your hand and spun you, bringing you back to his tall frame.
Nights are warm and the days are young
“Are yoouungg!” His voice deepened and slowed as his hands grabbed yours and moved them to the beat of the song he was singing.
You nodded with an exasperated laugh, “you want some water? I’ll dance with you after?”
He only shook his head with cute pout, “nooo, dance now! Water after!”
Once I'm begging you save her little soul
This time his voice became higher, slowing down, “her little sooouuul!” He hands tightened on your waist and moved them, bending down to watch your hips with his lips in a drunken smile.
You grabbed his arms with a slight blush and lifted him up, “ok Remus! Very nice falsetto there!”
“I know right,” he squinted one eye, “Dance with me dove!” He whined still jumping up and down.
“I promise I’ll have water after.” He hiccuped before his hands cupped your face.
“I need a pretty dance partner, please my love?” His bent down and pressed a kiss to your cheek. “Pretty, pretty, pretty,” he chanted moving to press a kiss to your lips.
You nodded, “okay, okay, one dance!” You held a finger up. “And after you’ll drink some water, ok?” You spoke to the boy whose attention was slowly fading.
His mouth dropped open with a smirk pulling at the corner of his lips as he mouthed the lyrics.
In walked luck and you looked in time
Never look back, walk tall, act fine
“Act fiiinneee!” His hair flopped in his face, almost covering his face as he stood to his full height and spun around you.
You laughed and covered your face, half embarrassed and half exasperated.
In turn, he grabbed your hands and made you jump around with him.
I'll stick with you, baby, for a thousand years
Remus pulled you closer and sung to you, “Nothing's gonna touch you in these golden years!”
Gold
He let his body fall on top of you, holding half his weight before he picked you up and spun you around causing you to laugh loudly.
Some of these days, and it won't be long
Gonna drive back down where you once belonged
He dropped you back down and you saw James, Sirius, Lily, and a very drunk Peter watching you laughing.
James and Peter held up a thumbs up and Sirius and Lily cheered mockingly with loud claps.
You yelped when Remus brought you closer to his sweaty frame, panting heavily he kissed you like a man starved, body still moving slightly.
You separated from him startled with a large smile as cheers and whistles erupted from the common room. This was probably the most PDA you both had ever shown in front of so many people.
Run for the shadows, run for the shadows
Run for the shadows in these golden years
“There's my baby, lost that's all!” He pointed to you and turned to a random boy and shook his startled form.
“Once I'm begging you save her little soul!”
Yours and Sirius’ loud bark of a laugh were the most audible as you dragged Remus off of the grinning boy with an apologetic wave that was quickly dismissed as Remus grabbed you again, spinning you madly.
“Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, aangeeell!” This time you sang earning a loud laugh from Remus.
“There we go dovey!” His accent became more prominent at his out of breath tone.
He spun around you again and wave his arms up as you copied him.
“I'll stick with you, baby, for a thousand years!” You both sung to each other dancing in front of each other.
Nothing's gonna touch you in these golden years, Gold
He spun you and dipped you as James and Sirius now approached you dancing stupidly.
Golden years, gold whop whop whop
Golden years, gold whop whop whop
Peter came with a bottle of fire whiskey moving rather weirdly, practically mumbling the lyrics with how drunk he was.
Golden years, gold whop whop whop
Golden years, gold whop whop whop
You all danced around each other, the most drunk of you all being Remus and Peter. Sirius’s hair was whipping all passers. James took the opportunity to dance with a protesting Lily and Peter stood swaying drunkenly.
You and Remus held hands as you moved each other to the beat and he brought you closer. “Thanks for dancing with me dove,” he said suddenly sounding slightly sober.
“Like I could’ve said no,” you smiled bringing him closer. “I love you Rem.”
He smiled widely, “I love you madly,” he rasped before kissing you in the middle of the common room filled with drunk dancing teens.
Golden years, gold whop whop whop
Golden years, gold whop whop whop!

amy after seeing that vid from mike’s tumblr i can’t stop thinking about early 2010’s tumblr moot art :’( he follows you one day and you don’t think much of it but then all of a sudden he’s liking every single one of your posts and commenting stuff like “ ❤️ this!” under your writing and when you go to check his blog you’re so confused cause it’s all about his friends and tennis and video blogs and motivational quotes but you follow him back anyway cause despite the graininess he looked really cute in his videos!! not even a few minutes later he’s sending you a dm saying “thank you for the follow back :)” and you start talking regularly and!! if you’re a smut writer it eventually gets brought up in the convo and you find out there’s a lot that lies under art’s soft innocent exterior 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️
Frnchgirls you delivered once again 😫😫😫
Tumblr user donaldsonart1, he's so adorable :( liking and reblogging everyone's posts because he wants to see the people grow more and more famous, to have their blogs be really loved and appreciated. You question how did he really make it to the fanfiction side of tumblr, especially your own blog, because you mainly write smut about Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. Later, you discover that he really fucking loves Harry Potter.
He looks young too, in his early 20s, you presume, and it's easy to notice he's into tennis. His blog is simple, not too aesthetically decorated, and his bio just says "tennis is love, tennis is life :)" and his profile picture is a slightly blurry photo of him in front of some big ciry skyscraper. Simple but really cute.
Donaldsonart1 uses an awful amount of emoticons as well, his favourite being :) >.< and :3 which makes you think that sometimes you're texting a sixteen year old girl. He's really sweet and sends you pictures of Wolfstar fan arts. That's when you begin noticing certain cracks in his innocent attitude, and little hint of something you people know as nsfw. It starts simply with Art letting you know about his attraction towards certain people, the most mentioned ones being Roger Federer and Hilary Duff.
donaldsonart1: did you see what i reblogged?
donaldsonart1: about the movie cinderella
donaldsonart1: i really like the actress :) she's very pretty
And then a few days later, he really fucking lets loose.
donaldsonart1: i watched a match with roger federer yesterday. he's really good
donaldsonart1: idk why they're dressing him in these tight shirts
donaldsonart1: i wrote a smut about him btw, would you like to see?
donaldsonart1: :)
You read it, of course. Staring at your phone screen with an open mouth, you have a hard fucking time closing it because this is by far the most violently pornographic piece of art that you have ever read. Something so incredibly filthy that you almost doubt someone so angelic looking has actually written. These are not the words of the baby faced guy who's been living in your DMs for the past few weeks.

Precious Things (Part 3)
a Remus Lupin Yuletide Miracle
Day Three: Frostbite | @wolfstarmicrofic
682 words
PART 1 | PREVIOUS PART | NEXT PART
*🎄🎄🎄*
There are two bookstores on Diagon Alley: Flourish and Blotts, with its mainstream catalogue and perpetual stock of school materials, and Behind the Pillar, so named for its rather unfortunate location with a door hidden by a Grade A Listed 18th century stack of bricks. This, usually Remus’ preference, carries obscure texts of muggle literature with Wizarding commentary, old half-banned books on spell creation, and the more favourable accounts of creatures such as the XXXXX-classified werewolf.
What it doesn’t carry is fad items such as the iQuill.
Remus reminds himself that he is a rather good employee and he likes being a good employee. The place has been decent to him, giving him time off for the full moons and never asking too many questions.
In truth, Remus doesn’t think Aberforth noticed the pattern in Remus’ mysterious illness, nor the frequency of it. As long as all the letters are accounted for by the end of the month, he doesn’t seem to care.
So, Remus says to himself: remain a good employee, listen to your boss’ orders, and steps inside Flourish and Blotts.
It’s cheerful inside. Something rather artificial about the cheerfulness, but still Remus can’t deny it - they have their own dressed up spruce tree, tiny enchanted balls of lights glowing in soothing, pulsating colours, and the whole floor is covered in a kind of artificial snow that makes Remus worry about frostbite.
The iQuill has its own display, prominently placed by the entrance, with a sign saying Perfect Yuletide Gift! above it.
As soon as he approaches it, a member of staff appears next to him - a young, overly-keen girl that makes Remus long for the iffy sellers at the Pillar, where commonly he has to spend upwards of fifteen minutes waiting to check out until whoever works there finishes making their tea.
“Would you care for a demonstration?” she asks with commerce-fuelled joy in her voice.
Remus wants to be kind - always wants to be kind - so he doesn’t tell her he knows how to use a quill and can’t imagine this one to be much more complicated, but she doesn’t wait for the response anyway before diving right into the sales pitch.
“We have the standard iQuill,” she pulls out one, a pretty little thing that actually looks like it would be rather nice to write with. “And for the Holiday special, the Mystery Pen Pal Bundle. Perfect if you’re after a little bit of a surprise!”
It’s a set of a quill, a bottle of ink and a leather bound notebook that makes Remus itch to run his fingers over the cover.
“What is that?” He asks because he’s a weak man for stationary.
“Each iQuill in the Bundle,” she tells him, animated and gesticulating widely, “is enchanted to perfectly match you with another soul out there who owns one. They will let you both know inside of the iBook,” she shakes the notebook a little bit.
Remus physically, viscerally cringes at the name.
Still, the magic sounds… interesting. Compelling. He thinks about who in his life could he realistically use the Quill to communicate with. He already has his weekly phone call with his mum (he uses a little red telephone booth outside of his flat), and even that seems to daunt her technophobic self. There is, of course, Aberforth, but Remus rather gets enough of him at work already.
So he asks “how does it work?” and feels a little put out about his limited choices.
“That’s patented spell work, I’m afraid - nobody knows but the Potters’ Emporium, the company who owns the iQuill brand. But it promises a discreet, non-human-interference to the matching process. The iQuill, unlike a wand, will read you and find the person who you truly need. A little Christmas miracle!” she falters at her own slip up. “Sorry. Yule I mean. A Yuletide miracle. I’m new here,” she laughs in a way that’s too self-deprecating and forceful to be counted as a laugh.
And Remus thinks: hmm. Thinks: that sounds… nice. That sounds like something he would, maybe, quite like.

The sun was setting behind Godric's Hollow as you all apparated back to the Potter’s residence, as soon as you all landed on the living room, Remus started talking about how ‘groovy’ his parents were, especially his mum. How she's such a great cook, always has her garden in order, and how well she is with animals. “She’d love you” he said looking back to throw you a smile whilst he packed his last bags, containing his newly bought school supplies, “I tend to have that effect on mom’s” you say with a matching expression. Effie’s laughter was heard from the kitchen.
Everything now officially packed and in order, you and the marauders stared at the Floo entrance waiting for the Lupin’s, “Are they getting here soon, Moony?” Sirius asked, clearly anxious to see the two, Remus sighed “You guys seem in such a hurry for me to get up and go” Sirius smirked at his friend “what made you think of that àillean?” {darling}.
James just laughed as Remus, who was rather flushed, grabbed the nearest candlestick ready to throw it at Sirius when suddenly the floo entrance was heard and an instant “Remus John Lupin put that down” Hope said sternly, a smile betraying her words. He rushed to where his parents stood and hugged them as if he hadn't seen them less than three days ago.
Monty hurried to the living room to greet them and Effie was soon to follow, “Lyall, Hope! So happy to see you two” Monty said with a big smile, going to hug both of them “I hope John didn't cause you any trouble” he said in a jokingly manner, looking at Remus sideways
“ Oh please, Lyall, you know that kid is a saint!” Effie said, giggling while squishing Remu’s cheek, making him fluster. “I believe this is yours love” Hope said, handing the candle stick to Euphemia.
“Would you guys like to eat before you see yourselves out?” Monty asked the Lupin’s to which Lyall had to refuse saying something along the lines of them having already eaten and had food ready for Remus at home. Not that you were paying too much attention to the conversation, too distracted thanks to Hope’s voice.
“And who might this be?” Hope asked with a bright smile, her eyes moving to meet yours. “Oh! she is our goddaughter, she’ll be attending Hogwarts starting this semester” Effie replied
“I see!, well nice to meet you young lass, im Hope, and this is my husband Lyall” she said pointing to her husband “‘Ello” he replied plainly, but in a pleasant way
You introduced yourself while offering a handshake to both of them, not really used to so much human interaction in less than 72 hours. “Well!” Hope clasped her hands “I think it's time to go home, don't you think sweetie, go get your stuff. Your poor dad’s back can't with all that”
“My back is just fine” he grumbled, making Remus and James give him a look, which he just smiled at. “Again thank you again for everything you two, see you at the station boys, do take care” she said, entering the floo “Oh and you too dear! See ya soon” And just like that, they were gone
You turned to look at James and Sirius, “They seem so nice!” Sirius couldn't agree more. They were both so calm and understanding, even in the worse scenarios
You turned to look at Sirius, expecting him to say something along the lines about going to pack his bags so you opted to talk instead. “Sirius?” you asked. He only hummed
“Are your parents picking you up now, or will you meet them at the train station tomorrow?” His smile dropped, and Jame’s smile turned sour. “Neither” he replied with a mix of sadness and rage, “Oh,then when will you see them?” You asked once more, not noticing James body language, telling you to stop. “Well kids! I think it’s time to go to bed now, tomorrow is a very exciting day for a certain someone” Euphemia said looking at you before she continued “So you two go to bed,and you dear i'm gonna give you some great advice for your days in Hogwarts”
Sirius stood up and walked out of the living room, Euphemia laid a soothing hand on his shoulder and said something in his ears. James looked at you with an expression that you couldn't really name. You tried to say goodnight, but it fell on deaf ears as they both went up the stairs. Effie went up to you and pointed at the sofa, offering you to sit down once more. “Dear, I know it was not your intention, but try to refrain from talking about his family in front of him, we are his family now, alright?” You nodded “I guess I should've been more mindful, I'll apologize in the morning”.
She smiled tenderly, “Don't beat yourself over it too much, go to bed and sleep well, tomorrow might be a little overwhelming for you” Kissing the top of your head she bid you goodnight, and you left for your room.
Euphemia waited for you to go up the stairs and for the door to close, and stood up from the couch so fast her knees popped. She walked to the back garden, where she saw her husband with his head back, staring languidly at the stars on the wooden bench. She sat next to him and held his hand in hers, snapping him out of his trance
“Mi vida, I'm sorry my mind is not where it should be” he said, looking at her with tear brimmed eyes.
She squished his hand firmly “Is it about Ronan?” The question was barely above a whisper, just saying his name made them realize that life is fleeting.
He only nodded. Even if it's once a month, Ronan always crossed their minds, and now more than ever, a constant reminder of his existence re entered their lives. He took off his glasses, trying to disguise his tears, and Euphemia could only tear up at the sight. Fleamont was sensitive and kindhearted, one of the many reasons why she fell in love with him, but seeing his walls crack and fall to the ground made her feel helpless.
“I think we should t-” she spoke not long before Fleamont interrupted Her. “Carmen would kill us if she could, you know that my love” it was now his turn to squeeze her hand, running his thumb in a reassuring manner.
“I know, but she'll find out soon. What do we do then” she looked him in the eyes, trying to find solace behind them. “When she does, we'll be there for her, but it's not our call to make, the one that did is no longer with us”. To no avail.
Morning came, and most of your suitcases were locked and loaded next to the entrance. No one was awake just yet, but you. You had pancakes on the stove, and some berries picked and cut on a yellow bowl next to the jug of orange juice on the counter. Following a simple recipe that you once saw on the television, you battered up some whipped cream. Before you heard the door of the rooms open, the table was served.
Effie walked down the stairs with a smile on her face as she saw you cleaning up the kitchen. “Now this is a lovely surprise” her face was beaming, looking at the pancakes with sugary white powder on top and berries adoring the sides. She went to sit on the chair that had an extra pancake on the plate, but before she could grab a fork, you intervened.
“Sorry Effie, that one's for Sirius.. you know as an apology of sorts” Your eyes were trained on the floor, embarrassment in your features. She just smiled at you and sat in another chair.
Like mother, like daughter, she thought.
“Don't you worry dear, these look scrumptious!”
She had almost finished when suddenly James came running down the stairs before halting at the middle, “Blimey!” With that, he ran back to his room and came back with his glasses on. Behind him was a groggy Sirius with a serious case of bedhead.
James went up to kiss his mom's cheek and sat down next to her, Sirius sat next him and smiled when Monty, who had come down not long after them, fixed his unruly hair. Flemont kissed his wife good morning and sat down.
“You cooked this?” James asked you while chewing in a piece of the pancake. You nodded after taking a sip of orange juice.
“It's really good” Sirius added, looking at you
“Hey! Why does he get three, and I get two” James whined after seeing his friend's plate
You just shrugged “I made one extra, I guess, should have sat in that chair dimwit”. James placed his hand dramatically against his chest and gasped, making the adults laugh. “Alright kids, let's get going, we have to get to the station, up up!” Effie ushered you all out of the chairs and up the stairs.
You packed some things that were missing as well as some clothes Effie gave you. After a while, you were interrupted by a knock on the door, by the doorway stood Sirius with his leather jacket on and a small backpack decorated with more muggle band pins. “Hey, just wanted to say thanks for breakfast, and about the whole parent thing last night, don't worry about it, yeah?” His voice was calm, but the way He toyed with his cuticle said otherwise
You held two thumbs up and smiled “Do you need help packing something, or are you guys all set?” You ask him, closing the latch of your briefcase. He stopped leaning on the door frame and scoffed “James is still trying to pack his bloody books” You chuckled and went to their shared room. There, James stood, all the books and new supplies splayed across his bed, and at least his clothes were packed.
“Come on James time to pack, we leave in ten” you say with a hand on his shoulder, “Mom will chase me down the house if she sees I forgot to pack” he said with a breathy laugh and started organizing all the books in ways that would let the other fit as well.
After a couple of minutes of playing with the space, all his bags were done and laid in front of the main entrance, all ready to leave. As you all waited, Fleamont and Euphemia came down the stairs in their casual attire. “I don't want to receive any messages from any of you saying you left something home, alright?” Fleamont said with his eyes squinted, you all nodded
“Come here very quick dear” Monty whispered before pulling a pair of gloves from his pockets. “People frown upon blood magic, don't try to explain, no lo entenderán, no one will question it now because the weather calls for gloves, yet once it gets more humid they'll start asking questions” He paused and started to slide said gloves on your hands, carefully, not wanting to open up any scabs. “If anyone, I mean it, anyone, bothers you for it you call me or Euphemia, understood?” You nodded firmly, looking at his eyes, then hugged him. Euphemia could only smile at the sight. Just before any tears could start flowing, she cleared her throat and spoke “Alright then, off we go”
You all quickly grabbed your bags and apparated to a train station somewhere in Britain, Sirius had explained that this was a normal train station, not everyone was a witch or a wizard, you'd think if five people just showed up out of thin air on a semi crowded station people who've only seen magic behind a screen would be astonished, scared even. But no, no one even batted an eye, everyone minded their own business, too engrossed in their own things, maybe if people paid more attention to their surroundings, more would believe in magic.
Monty and Effie wanted to stay and bid you all farewell insisting that being late to work once isn't that big of a deal but you kept saying it would be alright and Sririus said something along the lines of “ what a great example you are giving us” with a smug smirk, with that thy left and kissed the foreheads of all of you and apparated back, not before giving you your ticket.
“We’re going to go find our friends so you can meet them, alright? Don't move an inch” Sirius said, trying to stifle a laugh and James, not seeming to catch the hint, looked at him worriedly pointing at the ticket, but he just grabbed his hand and bolted out running “What about the ticket man?” “Lets see if she gets it shh”
So there you stood, two carts filled with equipment with no owners and a ticket in your hand
You stood next to a pillar and looked at your ticket, looked at the station number in front of you, then back at the ticket. “What the fuck?” you muttered
“You’re not gonna find it by looking at the signs. After all, they were designed by muggles” a voice said behind you. You looked towards the direction the voice came from, expecting to find Sirius’s face accompanied by his smirk, but instead, your eyes were met with…one of the creepy ones, with a woman next to him. Your face turned sour.
“I thought i told you to back-”
“Mother, this is the person I mentioned to you about after our trip to Diagon” he interrupted, causing you to scowl at him.
The woman next to him looked at you, and her unamused face quickly turned into a smile, fake as fake can be.
“Pleasure to meet you, Miss. Rouge, I do hope we become acquainted” she said
You blinked twice as all the high society manners, learned in infancy, came back to you in a matter of seconds. “The pleasure is mine Lady….Oh you must forgive me! I'm so forgetful with surnames, but it truly is a pleasure to finally meet you” Your comment seemed to have taken her back.
“Our family’s name is hard to forget, yet I do understand that it must be unusual, given from…where you come from” try as she might, the disgust on her face was palpable.
‘What a bitch’ you thought
“Our house is but the most ancient and noble, House of Black” she continued
oh.
“I’ll make sure to remember this time, Lady Black. This has been lovely but I must get going, it was great to see you again…friend” you say in a plain manner, ready to turn on your heel to go find your friends until you heard her speak again.
“Regulus, do help her find her way to the train will you” she said sternly
“Yes mother” With that, he took your cart and left without giving you a say in anything. He kept walking with your cart quite fast, making it hard for you to catch up. “Hey! Could you stop, i'm not supposed to move. I'm waiting for friends” You barked at him, yet he showed no signs of stopping. “Hey!” You yelled once more, and he halted, thinking he finally listened to you, you sighed. “We have arrived”
Arrived where? What the actual fuck is wrong with these people?
Your apparent destination was a brick wall. Lovely.
“Go straight into that wall, and you'll find the train” he said, grey irises look at you. You laughed “Look man i know you don't like me, but I'm not that stupid.. I don't want a concussion”
He rubbed his temple exhausted. “I hope Pandora is wrong ‘cause you are unbearable, just follow instructions and get lost, I have friends to find and I don't fancy missing the train”
“You know what, fine, go look for the others weirdos” “How original” he scoffed as he walked away
You decided to just do what he said. What's the worst that could happen? Embarrassment? Concussion? Please.
You grabbed the cart and ran as fast as you could through the bricked wall, praying to all the gods to let this be true and not get seriously injured in the process.
Guess they listened!
You opened your eyes once again, and there you stood, in front of a beautiful red train. Hundreds of kids bidding farewell to their parents and a couple crying at the thought of leaving once more. Entering the train, you put your belongings in the compartments and walked to try and find a booth to sit in.
You went past at least three full booths and one who seemed to fit one more passenger, but those two were quite busy, to say the least , Lovely reunions all around. Still no Marauders in sight.
Your search ended when you found one that had two sleeping students, so quietly you slide open the doors and sit on the opposite side of them
As soon as you sat down the girl woke up, scaring the soul out of you, her eyes were groggy, as was her voice once she spoke “You're that new student” voiced in more of a statement than a question
“Straight to the point I see” you said unfazed. Her eyes met yours, pupils wide and intensely set on reading you. The color reminded you of the blue of the sea back home
Pretty
“Dalia, you know it's wrong to stare” the previously sleeping boy spoke, breaking the tension. Pulling her back from her staring contest before continuing “I apologize for her conduct, she hates train rides, so she took some - muggle magic if you know what I mean” his Irish accent thick
You chuckled “I see, make sure she gets some water after the magic wears down” He nodded “Will do”
“My name is Soren, by the way. Nice to meet you” he extended his hand, and you shaked it, introducing yourself. “It's very rare for Hogwarts to receive exchange students this late into the school year”
“So I've heard” you say with a sigh and placing your carry on by your side. “What houses are you two in?” you asked genuinely, trying to keep conversation going.
Soren's eyes sparkled “I love this question!” he almost shrieked, “Gods have mercy on you now” his sister groaned, her head laid back against the train's seat, opening her eyes enough to glare at him.
Soren only rolled his eyes and leaned forward, elbows on his knees and hands supporting his head. “We are both Hufflepuff, which is so strange for our family, the Selwyn’s. They're all Slytherins”
“Which totally didn't cost us half of their wealth and properties” Dalia spoke, still laid back, but her words had some vermin laced in them. “That's not something that matters when you can choose your own path, is it” he turned his head to look at his sister. She opened one eye and scoffed “Sod off”
“Funniest thing is that Hufflepuffs are usually very bubbly and outgoing but little miss sunshine over her’ is quite the opposite” he pointed at his sister with a smile. She switched positions, making her body face the window before muttering a faint “whatever”
“Why is being in a different house than all your family cause such a problem” Your voice sounds confused, and Soren almost forgot you are not from around here
“Right well it's difficult to explain in such a short train ride” he scratched the back of his head, chuckling. “Scaoil é” {drop it}
Dalia grunted from her place in the booth. You decided to stop asking questions, feeling the atmosphere turn a little sour. Soren, on the other hand, tried to make it lighter. “I hear the trolley, I totally recommend the chocolate frogs. They're divine” he said, pointing at the door. You saw an old lady pushing a small trolley cart filled with sweets and chips. You opened the booth to buy some treats, getting four chocolate frogs and a bag of crisps. After paying you heard a low ‘psst psst’ from across the hall, it was a blonde girl with smokey black eyeshadow.
You pointed your finger at yourself, asking if she was talking to you, and she nodded. You tossed some sweets to Soren with a smile and went up to the girls. She tossed her arm around you “Pleasure to meet you lovely, im Marlene” her voice was like, If caffeine and nicotine met..so energetic. “Hiya, I don't believe we've met before” you ask, puzzled, not really pushing off her arm. She walked you to god knows where, but you follow anyway.
“Nope! But the guys told me all about ya” She said smiling “Good thing knowing there's gonna be another girl ‘round”
It finally clicked, the other Gryffindor friends!
You introduced yourself to the blonde and had some casual banter before ending It in front of
a booth, she opened it and there they were.
Remus, Sirius, James, and what you would've guessed was Peter.
“Brought you the parcel mate, Pay up” she signaled Sirius, which he just rolled his eyes at her audacity “I got money for one butterbeer for each Hogsmeade trip Marl” he whined. “So much for being from an outstanding family Master Black” she rolled her eyes “Does anyone in this train know what the word disowned means?”
“Long time no see dove” Remus smiled at you. You waved and said hello to the rest of the boys, still intertwined with Marlene. “Te dije que ibas a hacer amigos rápido!” {I told you'd make friends quickly}" James exclaimed, and you could only laugh. He put his hand on the smaller boy beside him and shook him “This is the Marauder you haven't met yet! Peter, this is Y/n, Y/n. This is Peter. You shook the boy's hand, and he happily reciprocated the action.
“Pleasure to meet you. These three scallywags almost cried when they couldn't find ya” he chuckled. You placed your free hand on your hip “If they hadn't let me to my own devices..”
“I like her attitude!” Marlene smiled
A tap was heard from behind you, there Llily sat tapping at the glass door of the booth with a contagious grin, once she catched your attention she slid the door open. “So happy to see you again, lovely!” she spoke, voice full of glee. “I was starting to wonder where you were, Lily!” you replied, matching her energy. “Rule of thumb, wherever you see these four sodding idiots-” she pointed at the Marauders “You'll see us” she pointed at her and Marlene. She chuckled and paused abruptly. “Lils, where the hell did Cas go?” she asked the red head, who answered with a shrug.
“She's probably out there talking with the lunatics she calls her friends” he scoffed, slumping down on the chair. “Padfoot, play nice” Remus said sternly, causing him to roll his eyes. “Who’s Cas?” You asked, “She’s the friend we told you about, that has friends in other houses, not just Slytherin” he reminded Sirius. “I bloody got it!” he exclaimed with his arms in the air. “I would go fetch her, but last time I went near em, that bastard Crouch had the nerve to hiss at me” Marlene said with a groan. “Just let her be. It's not a crime” Peter chimed in.
“Come sit with us! We have to give you some very juicy gossip, so you won't be daft on the important stuff” Marlene said with a wink, finally leaving your side, not that you minded. “Sure! Just let me get my backpack, Soren is holding it right now” you beam, but their looks of worry don't escape you “Everything alright?” You ask, Remus coughed “Soren Selwyn?” he asked, and you nodded. “Careful with those two, he’s great, but his sister– she’s something alright” Lily added
You just hummed “I'll keep it in mind, thanks” and off you went.
Not far away from their booths sat two ravens and two snakes all while Dorcas, a Phoenix, leaned by their booths's door listening in
“You can keep her for all I care” said Regulus, not looking away from his journal, pen still in thought. The comment aimed at Dorcas.
“Be nice Reg” Pandora hissed, peeking her head through to see your figure down the hall. “She's all acquainted with the feathered bastards” Evan said, causing Barty and Pandora to give him a look. “Y'know what I mean, there's no chance she'll hang around us now” he continued. Dorcas spoke, “Who said we couldn't share idiot”
You sat the rest of the ride next to the blonde and the redhead as they told you about all the gossip, ranging from the latest fashion scandal to which teachers were having affairs with their spouses with fellow professors. Time flew like the wind in that booth, and soon enough, the train took a violent stop, causing you to yelp and the girls to laugh. “You get used to it at some point Marlen laughed and palmed at your back, Everyone was up and walking to the nearest exits when you spotted who you presumed was Dorcas run down the passageways to reach the girls “Sorry i guess i got carried away” she giggled and Marlene smiled at her, “no hard feelings c’mon let's go!” she said, handing her the bag with her name embroidered on the front pocket. Dorcas looked at you and smirked before going back to Marlene and exiting the train
“You ready?” asked James with a warm smile.
Stepping down the train, you stood amazed, there it stood before you, a gorgeous castle like campus, brown and worn down from age but just as beautiful as any other. “Pretty cool, huh?” Sirius smiled beside you. Your eyes started to water at the thought of your mother seeing you now, where she studied all those years ago, suddenly all your belongings showed up in front of you in a trolley, then came the carriages being pulled by what could only be described as undead horses, black and grey in color with gray cloudy eyes. “How has no one died of a heart attack by those” you say, pointing at the horse. Remus just laughed “Are self moving carts that terrifying?” You looked at him dumbfounded “It's this another prank of yours?” You laughed uneasy, and he looked at you as if you said something funny and bent down to adjust the straps on the trolley so none of your items would fall.
You went over and caressed the snout of the horse huffing in front of you, not quite catching the look that Pandora gave you from a safe distance
“See, she's not so different from us, Evan. She’s seen death” Evan stayed silent
Now inside of the school, you could see all the students in all their glory, some hugging their friends, some younger running around the halls and a very busy couple huddled up behind a column, “Do Frank and Alice know that public indecency is a school violation and also a crime?” Peter spoke with an annoyed expression.
“That's only if they expose their naughty bits, rat boy” a very familiar voice speaks, winking at you as he walks away “Lock your dorm tonight, you bastard!” yelled the boy, his face red as a beet
“Don’t listen to that nutcase. He’s got some screws loose” you say to Peter, “tell me about it” he says with a roll of his eyes.
“Chop chop, students! Everyone in their robes, dinner shall start soon, punctuality is very important!” A woman with the stereotypical witch hat hollered in the rowdy halls, “That’s Minerva McGonagall, we call her Minnie, just don't say it to her face” Sirius commented “We have come to the conclusion that she might just be immortal, my dad’s grandfather was taught by her” James snickered
“Potter! I'm glad the New Year’s feast has made you so full of jokes, but i'm sure i mentioned that punctuality is what we proud ourselves in this fine school” Suddenly she was behind you making James jump out of his skin “Yes Minnie- i mean! Ms. McGonagall " took a stroll around the gardens and came back. “I expect the Gryffindor table to be full this afternoon. Miss Rouge. I ask you to stay away from trouble, these rascals attract it like magnets! Welcome to our school nonetheless,” She says with such class after just reprimanding the boy.
“Thankyou Ms.” You smile at her, and she leaves, not long before screaming “Mr. Longbottom! I hope this doesn't become the norm this year. Do not run young man!” causing everyone around to start snickering
After being pulled by Lily to the nearest bathroom to change into the robes, not before putting a locking spell on all your belongings saying something about “we may be wizard and witches, but greed still exists “ You don't know what you expected for the restrooms, but they were indeed just normal toilets. You adjusted the shirt and skirt in front of the mirror before putting on the robe. You saw Lily put on a red and yellow tie and had to ask “How do I get one of those?”
“Once they put the sorting hat on your head you'll know what colors are best for you, crossing all my fingers it'll be just as mine” she smiled and you could only do the same. Just as you were leaving the bathroom, a head of blonde braided hair passed right beside you. You snapped your head back and were met with a kind smile, it was Pandora, her tie was blue and white I think blue would suit you quite well” she whispered loud enough for you to hear.
“We’re gonna be late for dinner, c’mon!” You hear Lily say outside the door frame “nice seeing you again Pandora” Short and sweet, and you left.
Running to the entrance of the dinning hall you met with the rest of the Gryffindors everyone was going past the huge wooden doors “Hope you’re hungry” was the only thing James said before ushering you to enter the hall, at the creak of the wood all heads were now looking at your direction, you followed behind Marlene who kept talking about all her mates at the table while all you could hear were whispers from others tables, she took notice at your nerves and takes a breath “Hey don't worry about them, fuckers havent seen a new pretty face in a while” she said with a wink making you let out a flustered chuckle.
You stopped at what you guessed was the Gryffindor table, where Dorcas sat with a leg up in the stool “Look at her! Our newcomer seems to be missing some red on that uniform, don't ya think” she asked Alice next to her “I agree Meadowes” she said with a grin. You went to take a seat, yet you heard an approaching ‘Passing through!’ and countless yelps and plates clattering near the table. “Great, the ghosts are here” Frank rolled his eyes, and you looked at him in disbelief “Ghosts?!”
“Yes, Ghosts! There's plenty in Hogwarts” a translucent man says in front of you before getting all in your face “Get used to it!” You jumped back at the scare “That's Nearly Headless Nick, he's harmless but an asshat” Remus whispered in your ear, “I heard that young man! I am no such thing!I represent this glorious house, and you, young lady, are not from around here!” the ghost exclaimed.
“Why Nearly headless” you regretted asking as soon as it left your lips cause once it did, his neck split nearly horizontally in half, hanging by a measly thread “oh”
“Nick just let her sit here, she'll get her house soon” whined Marlene “No can do, Dumbledore asked me to fetch her, she's taking a test of sorts” his voice chivalrous as ever. “They aren't bringing the hat out?” asked James dumbfounded “The hat is not to be disturbed. She'll be brought to the hat” “Vago de mierda” he huffed {lazy piece of shit}
You walked out of the dinning hall next to the ghost, hearing from behind you a loud “Red and yellow suit you best!”
The Ghost guided you through the endless halls of Hogwarts, passing classrooms and rooms he said wer out of order or our of reach for students, the so called tour ended at the third floor, in front of you stood a grand gargoyle the size of a giant “off we go young lady” he said as he went through the wall and you just stood there, did he really expect you could do that too??
Needless to say that he came back and muttered the words “Sherbert Lemon” and the gargoyle moved to show a pair of stone stairs, he ushered you to go in and wished you good luck before the gargoyle closed the entrance behind you as you went up. The stairs soon came to an end, and you stood in front of the office, books flying gracefully around the room, shining bottles of potions decorating the shelves.
“Ms. Rouge, I take it” a voice called out from the chair behind the desk. You gulped as nervousness engulfed your body and answered “Yes, i came her for some sort of exam”
The chair turned, and there he was, Albus Dumbledore beard as grand as one can be and stoic as ever. “That is correct, the exam shall determine your skills as a witch” he stood up and started walking around his personal library, taking out books and potion materials “After which will tell me in what year you shall be placed” He placed some ingredients on top of his desk and looked at you “Make two potions with any of these you have 10 minutes” He set a sand clock as soon as his words left his mouth.
You looked at the array of ingredients, some you've never seen in your life, others more common like fruits. After seeing some Asian dragon hair, you instantly remembered Fleamonts lesson on how to get ones hair to look amazing. Quickly, you grabbed the petroleum jelly, the dragon hair, and the gomas barbadensis. You mixed it all in a bowl, smashing it to a thick paste and set it aside for your next potion.
You looked at everything once again, trying to come up with any simple potion that could be made in the 4 minutes you had left. It clicked. Aging potion!
You grabbed some Newt spleens the slithering orange snake and some green leafs, “sorry lil guy” you whisper to the snake as you cut their head off and dump it to the pile of ingredients, next you smush everything up to an orange mush…its supposed to be green. Your time was running out, but you remembered that it involved a common fruit, so you quickly added four slices of apple to the mix, and it changed from an off orange to a deep aquamarine..shit.
The sand clock emptied its top side, and Dumbledore came to inspect your potions
“Very quick thinking, Ms. Rouge yet i was expecting some more practical potions, nevertheless the Sleekeazy potion would be very well executed if it wasn't for the fact that instead of Asian dragon hair you instead added European dragon hair, which would give the opposite effect we are looking for, the Ageing potion on the other hand, was wrong, not only were the quantities of each ingredient were wrong but the correct fruit is bananas not apples”
To say you were disappointed in yourself was an understatement, but there was still hope. The next test was a spell test. You took out your wand and performed a set of simple yet advanced spells such as Aqua Eructo, Aparecium, and Confringo on a poor cockroach who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Next was something you’ve barely heard of, Divination. The test consisted of the headmaster telling you an array of dreams and nightmares, and you had to decipher. Once you got your final score, it came out a whopping twenty percent! The astrology part was rather easy, your mother had taught you some interesting facts about this, making your score improve in this area.
The other subjects were walks in the park, already being quite versed in Charms, Astronomy, and History of Magic, which made the scores on those well-rounded one hundreds. Once all was finished, you were left exhausted, hair disheveled, and eyes tired. “I have come to the decision that you will be taking every class apar with the fifth years except Potions and Divination, this will be with the fourth years given your disadvantage with the subjects, if you get someone from the fifth year to tutor you and your teacher and I see any progress, i'll see it that you go to your respective year”
You nodded already dreaming of the comfort of the mattress, as soon as he finished his sermon the door to the office opened and in came McGonagal with a smile on her face “I'm sure we’re eager to get our house now?” she asked, looking at you, and you only nodded sleepily. She went to a shelf and took a brown hat, worn down by time, and you were sure it smelled of deviled eggs. “I'm sure it's too early to be doing this once again, don't you think?!” The hat spoke. The hat spoke. Why are you even surprised anymore?
She turned the hat to face you, and you were sure you saw the indents that were meant to be his eyes widened. “Exchange student! How exotic” She placed it on your head and it started humming “I can sense the passion and loyalty, yet the determination is more prominent, hmmm ambitious enough to use those transcripts, Salazar would be proud!, purpureus pluvia was it?” it asked “Shut it” you retorted
“Such character! Slytherin it is!” it exclaimed, and it was removed from your head in an instant “There we go young lady, Slytherin it is! Your colored uniform will be displayed in your dorm room once you get there”
Outside the headmaster's office were the Marauders who watched with confusion as Pandora more or less dragged Barty and Evan to their current spot with Regulus walking behind them, face uninterested as always
Evan scowled at the sight of the Gryffindors “The bloody hell these wankers doin’ here” he said “Dorcas control your dog” James snapped back making the girl stifle her laugh. “Probably set someone's pants on fire at the welcome back dinner” Barty scoffed.
“I'll keep that in my list for when we visit the Ravenclaw dorms,” Sirius said with a smirk, leaning on the wall.
“Careful now, pranks led by you are not the Marauders strongest suit’s” Regulus said, glaring at Sirius. Before Remus could say anything, the door opened. You looked around, the tension palpable. You looked at Pandora and her fellow observers, it wasn't her that made you mad but the other three that just would not stop making snarky remarks “I’ve told you four to stop or did I not?” You spoke, completely ignoring your friends.
“Hmm, I don't recall” Barty said, index finger on top of his lips, he was mocking you.
“Don't start you two” Pandora sighed
“What house?” asked Regulus
“Wouldn’t you like to know jackass?” You barked back, Barty only cackled.
“Leave it” James said from behind you before continuing “What house did the hat tell you?” “Slytherin” the disappointment in your voice was evident.
Pandora and Regulus looked at each other with a matching smirk, You slowly turned around as you heard the following phrase come out of Barty “Guess you’re coming with us Treasure”

Regulus Black Teaser
Tumblr media
Year one 1972-1973 11-12
“Stop staring regulus is very unbecoming! Filthy half-bloods” Regulus’ mother spoke with venom. The young first-year couldn’t help himself. the girl clutching onto her brother's arm was beautiful to him. baby cheeks flushed rose with nerves a light dusting of dents and scratches decorated her face very similar to her brother's own. He knew of the Lupins from Sirius over the summer. The older black had given his brother a full rundown of his friends. There was James Potter who couldn’t wait to be on the quidditch team, Peter Pettigrew wanted to be just like Sirius and James, and finally Remus Lupin a very intelligent boy with a love for chocolate. Sirus had mentioned that a younger lupin would also be joining Regulus’ year. But he failed to mention just how pretty she would be. Regulus quickly obeyed his mother feeling the burn of her angry stare towards him. “don’t even think about talking to her regulus black I will not have our blood tainted by their traitor.” She growled.
(Y/N) jade lupin followed her brother onto the train after a long farewell from her father. She wished her mother was there also, but the growing fear of the dark lord and his followers made it impossible for her to be safe on the platform. “what if I don’t make friends Remus?” she stuttered watching her brother take their cases and place them in the sturdy storage above their heads. “you’re worrying too much (Y/N). even if you don’t make friends for a bit, you have me. My friends know about me, so they’ll also be willing to help you.” She nodded her head slightly before a blur of silver caught her gaze. An open bar of muggle chocolate. “calm down and eat some.”
Remus was a pale-faced pre-teen also covered in scars. His hair was light brown hair that, was already starting to go grey from his ‘illness’. Stress can do a lot to a witch or wizard. (Y/N) knew it was only a matter of time the silver jumped to her hair. “finally got away!” the siblings quickly locked eyes on the boy barging into the carriage like a herd of wildebeest. Sirius black. (y/N) could never deny Sirius was handsome. Dark luscious curls that just touched his shoulders with matching dark eyes filled with mischief. Next to tumble in was James potter. He was very similar to Sirius, James was a tall, thin boy with hazel eyes and untidy black hair that stuck up at the back. The final boy to enter the compartment was Peter Pettigrew. He was the largest of the group and the shortest with mousy brown hair and silver eyes. “well, well well this must be the little lupin we’ve heard so much about!” James seemed extremely ecstatic to meet (Y/N) shaking her hand hard. “it’s nice to meet you all.” she stuttered smiling brightly at their welcoming personalities. This was going to be a very interesting year indeed.
The great hall was everything Remus had described. The ceiling was filled with beautiful night sky stars twinkling down like it was real. Floating candles scattered around flickering brightly. The whole room was filled with students all watching the first years as they entered. “now when I call your name,” Professor McGonagall began, “I shall place the sorting hat on your head, and you shall be sorted into your houses.” (Y/N) could instantly tell the professor cared for her students her stern expression fought with her floaty voice of passion and upper-class education. “regulus black.” (Y/N) watched as a boy walked towards the stool almost nervous. Instantly she could tell he was a pureblood. The young boy stood as straight as a pencil nothing seemed imperfect. His curly hair was styled with no frizz or kinks, his face clean of freckles dirt or imperfections of any kind. The only thing she could see of any difference to purebloods was his eyes. They swirled with every natural colour possible. But something so bright and vibrant was clouded with a layer of grey mist an emotionless gaze. The boy sat gracefully on the stool as the sorting hat was placed on top of his head. “Slytherin!” the hat barely brushed his hard curls before screeching the ‘dark house’. (Y/N) watched as he walked towards the emerald, green table still no emotions. “(Y/N) Lupin!”
Regulus watched the girl from the train. He didn’t blink, he didn’t move. He finally got a better look at the tiny girl from the station. And he was captivated. He had never seen a child so small and dainty. She still had an amount of baby fat on her cheeks like an innocent chipmunk. Her hair was tied in a braid low to the neck with light wisps of baby hair framing her face. But her eyes were the best part of Regulus. In contrast to his murky eyes, hers with bright and full of wonder, like a kaleidoscope. “now here's a challenge!” the hat murmured cackling as the girl bit her pink lips. “so many traits for such a small child. The intelligence of a Ravenclaw, the bravery of a Gryffindor, the loyalty of a Hufflepuff…but the ambition that radiates from you girl. Better be Slytherin!”
The portion of the table Regulus sat on snickered and laughed as the small girl walked towards the table. She sat down slowly away from everyone out of fear. He couldn’t blame her. “look at the little duckling. She couldn’t hurt a fly.” Bellatrix snickered towards Lucius and Narcissa. “she's gonna be eaten alive. Filthy half-blood.” Regulus knew his first year was going to be very strange.

I love your hp fashion post! I have a question: what do you think is popular for teenager girls/young women to wear in the 90s? How does it differ from muggles? Would they have incorporate muggle fashion trends into their outfits? And is that a thing you would usually see younger wizards doing?
Thank you!
Ok, this requires me to sit at my PC to type. Got me out of bed and off my phone to make tea and type while I'm sick.
Obligatory link to the post in question.
Fashion is Political
Fashion in the 70's, 80's, and 90's was hugely political both in the UK and USA. Goths, punks, preps... It was an entire identity. I didn't paint my nails black, dye my brown hair with translucent red or purple highligts, and wear mesh layers just for the aesthetic, it was an entire philosophy that had political, moral, and social ideas baked into the culture those clothes represented. When I wore a yellow sundress, a hat that hid the highlights, and stripped the color from my nails to visit certain relatives it was because that was a Sundown Town and the ideas represented by the counter-culture I belonged to very well could get me hurt when walking around alone. Yes, I look entirely white (got some Japanese but so far back it doesn't show, and I'm basically French and Bulgarian) but that kind of conservatism didn't (and still doesn't) take kindly to those who support the queers, freaks, and weirdos.
And it's still true, if not quite as much as it used to be. Social cliques still dress alike, but it isn't as quietly political the same way it was then. People don't seem to associate fashion with a political statement using style as much as they use modesty and cleanliness, but it could be that I've just become Officially Old now that I've got a stripe of white in my hair. It seems a bit more on the nose these days, or more accurately on the head. I have a lovely bright red knit newsboy hat I had to stop wearing around 2016-17.
Yeah, but so what?
Fashion changes over time, so let's start with some 1970's makeovers and work our way to the 90's!
The Marauders Prequel: Kinktomato, and all the similar disclaimers, but I respectfully disagree entirely with giving Sirius, James, or any of the other marauders a Punk aesthetic. Sorry JKR, but what you have James and Sirius wear in your prequel needs a tweak. Sure, they wanted to fight against 'traditionalists' which sounds like it's punk... until you realize that the Light was the status quo before Tom came to power. The Order of the Phoenix is a vigilante group working to protect the Establishment and prevent change. Yes, realizing that while reading the 7th book hurt me in my heart too.
I have to throw JKR a bone about her recent nonsense, but she's right in the manner of a broken clock that the rebellious counter-culture going on in the Wizarding World was being backed by the Traditional Family Values set. The politics in the Wizarding World do not match up well with the real world, mostly because if you think too much about it the political aims of the Death Eaters implode. For blood purity, leader is a half-blood who hates the rich and treats the high society types with deep contempt; were not in power and had to have a guerrilla movement, members included half the House of Lords. You can't square those circles, so we get the Light Preppy types like the Marauders and the Dark Preppy types like Draco Malfoy, and then we have the punks and the goths who are the outcasts and queers that get indoctrinated into one or the other set. Don't blame me, I didn't write the books.
The Marauders should look a bit like The Monkees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
James and Sirius were not in with the queers and freaks, they did not read dark poetry in black clothing with sharp lines and heavy makeup that obscured bruises, they were Preppy Jocks and bullies picking on the outsiders. Remus Lupin might be 'one of the good people' who got wizard AIDS, but he's at best masking to fit in with a powerful social group for protection. The black leather with the rocker band t-shirts look? No, no. Put that boy in a polo shirt and chinos. Give him a cable-knit sweater or a blazer over a robe. (And many people do give these things to Professor Lupin, but I mean from the jump.) They'd all be clean-cut, perfectly groomed, and wearing light colors because their political movement is literally called The Light. Black T-shirts with a phoenix on them? No ma'am. White or yellow shirt, embroidered (or screen print to look like embroidery) phoenix. Yellow blazer jacket on top with creamy muggle trousers in a high-water boot cut to show off expensive white or tan boots. (The high-water boot cut on the trousers are muggle 1960's, but wizards lag behind on muggle trends.)
Moving on to the Dark Side
Snape's our punk, or maybe a broody goth gremlin reading poetry books. All via thrift-shop [charity shop] finds, of course. The set of upper-class future Death Eaters he eventually starts to hang out with would have started out in clean-cut expensive dark-colored robes, but might have embraced a morbid aesthetic, as we see Bellatrix wear in the movies. This would be a case of convergent evolution in a sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Snape dressed like that due to the poverty and muggle influences in his life, and I headcanon that he liked to visit a record shop and stim his autistic brain with niche experimental music just like I used to at that age, but the morbid and shocking aspects of Goth or Punk aesthetics parallel with Voledmort's completely unrelated skull and snake symbol inspiring trends among his more loyal followers, who are rich enough to be trend setters and social influencers.
Snape very well might have made friends with those awful boys because they liked the casual clothes he started to wear on weekends once his mum started tossing some money at him and telling him to get his own shopping done so she could get back to her crossword puzzle (or maybe he got a summer job at a bakery.) Snape chose that look because if he's styled punk (violent) or goth (morbid) the rips his father puts in his clothes when he gets tossed around are there on purpose and it's just a nice coincidence that the stains in the second-hand clothes he gets on clearance at the charity shop get hidden by the cheap black dye he uses to get that grey and black look. This way, it is not just because he can't afford better and washes both himself and his clothing in the same portable tin washtub.
This convergence was accidental, but the artfully tattered cloaks and general look of the Death Eaters in the movies is something I can get behind - minus the Victorian trousers on the men, of course. The movies make the clothes way too muggle especially for the pure-blood set! Regulus Black spent nearly a hundred galleons getting a robe made of the finest linen and fur, snipped and cut so artfully to look like it was moth-eaten and torn even though every edge is properly hemmed and trimmed with a bit of lace that merely looks like a frayed edge.
Then Voldemort got Blown up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look, the actress has red hair and a preppy lavender top - it's too perfect a reference image for Lily Potter nee Evans in a fashion post.
The morbid aesthetic that was so popular in the late 70's doesn't just go out of fashion, it is jettisoned like the toothbrush mustache. Yeeted from a seaside cliff. Dropped in a ditch full of burning petrol. Abandoned at the side of the road in a bag. Morbid? Don't know her.
Draco Malfoy, as I earlier teased, wears the fashion of the Dark upper class. Flowing perfectly tailored robes with a rope belt. Crisp and clean lines, no jagged edges or anything to even suggest aggression. 90's pure-blood fashion is soft. For the girls, more color, but we are going to backpedal so hard nobody will ever think we were associated with that guy we don't name. Draco Malfoy's non-uniform robes are like spun clouds, opulent and decadent in beautiful pristine velvet, shining satin, and resplendent metallic embroidery. While Snape and the generation of men older than him now wear waistcoats over their robes to look proper and all buttoned up, Draco's set is all about looking sleek, clean, and comfortably ready for a dramatic breeze. I don't think there is a large difference between what boys and girls wear, the gendering is all in the accessories and embellishments. Lace for girls, metallic piping for boys.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm talking flowy, I'm feeling swishy, I'm saying that 'looks like a dress' was a completely fair take from Harry's perspective. Yes the above characters are female and Frieren herself wears a lot of white, but you get the idea. The Dark Lord is dead, we need a rebrand yesterday. More lighter colors even for Dark-aligned [read:Tory, Conservative] families. No evil here! Nope, nope nope.
Harry is a Self-fulfilling Prophesy in More Ways than One
Harry accidentally has a hand in this trend in his earlier years, since he is wearing Dudley's castoffs and he's incredibly famous. Baggy is in! Just relax, chill, be comfortable. Dress like you just don't care what you look like. (You know, pandemic style.) He wears jeans, and probably most of his bottoms are jeans. They are one of the most durable things any boy Dudley's age would wear, and so wouldn't be as destroyed as the rest of his wardrobe by the time Harry got his hands on it no matter how hard Duds is on the trendy fast fashion clothing Petunia buys him. Petunia, a social climber, is set on making sure her family looks like the next rung up on the social ladder after all.
Later, when we can assume Harry has bought at least one wizard outfit that isn't his school uniform if he's got enough money on hand to buy Omnoculars, he's probably taken his fashion cues from himself indirectly. He likely gets his advice from Hermione and Ron, who get their fashion sense from looking at their peers, who get their fashion sense from... the trend of super casual heavily muggle-influenced baggy clothing in mismatched colors that Harry started as a first year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bit harder to find male examples than female ones, but that's fashion gifs on Tumblr.
Shorter robes with jeans underneath - or knee-high socks or dhoti style trousers in blue heather fabric that look like jeans provided you have never seen jeans before in your life. Open, short robes over closed-front ones, aping an overlarge muggle jacket over a robe. Floppy shapeless clothes held on with an overlarge leather belt. Squashy hand-knit jumpers. Girls in the Lighter political side also take cues from muggle women's fashion, which is more form-fitting than traditional wixan wear and shows off the legs. In the muggle world, this is the time of the babydoll dress, slim-cut trousers/jeans, and tightly tailored suit skirts for women.
Tumblr media
Imagine way, way, way more gold embroidery on the above dresses.
And, because I can, because it's headcanon time, 90's Indian/ Bollywood fashion influence on the Light side after James Potter is martyred because #Indian Harry Potter is real and I love him. Music, clothing, art, it is in style among those who honor James and Lily's sacrifice. Harry's green eyes looks so bright next to chestnut brown skin. He can speak to snakes because his ancestry includes a bit of naga blood, not because of the Horcrux. Petunia certainly never taught him about it, and he's confused when an especially devoted fan sends him blessings addressed to Hindu gods instead of the Christian or pagan ones he hears about more often at Hogwarts. One of the Patil twins asks him what's wrong with him expecting, from his attitude and excitement about Christmas, that he's a devout Christian who hates his dark skin. Then they monopolize some of the time he's not teaching the D.A. or in detention to Educate That Boy.

Lesbian Wolfstar Prom AU
Part II | Part I is here!
I actually really enjoyed writing the last little segment that I posted, so I did some more!! Kind of excited about how this turned out, and I actually have a lot more written, but I can't tell if it's too long to post on Tumblr? Would love some advice!! Anyway, hope you enjoy a little bit of background!
It was late July when Sirius showed up on the Potter's front porch with a kitchen-scissor haircut and a small duffle bag of clothes.
According to James, who usually acted as the inside scoop for all-things-Sirius every summer, things at the Black residence had been pretty abysmal so far. She'd been able to sneak out to see them all at the start of break, but had been placed under house arrest since getting caught climbing back through her window.
The breaking point however, came with Sirius chopping off all of her hair in the bathroom following a screaming match in which Walburga Black declared her daughter to be the worst behaved, most disrespectful embarrassment to ever live, and that she was ultimately wasting the little potential she had to begin with by stomping like a man and refusing to behave like a proper young woman.
Which led Sirius to the scissors.
And to spitting back that, well, if she was acting like a man, she might as well look the part right?
Which led to Walburga telling her daughter exactly what impolite term she thought she looked like, and Sirius confirming that yes, that is exactly what she is.
The next night, Mrs. Lupin received a phone call from Mrs. Potter that ended with Remus sitting on the floor in James's room at 2 in the morning, listening quietly as Sirius revealed something that would change Remus's life.
"I'm gay."
Sirius didn't meet anyone's eyes the entire time she talked about leaving, but as those final words spilled out, she raised her head in a challenge, as if daring someone to speak first.
James, who Remus assumed had already been through this talk once, was nodding in encouragement and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Pete—who Remus has always suspected had a certain attraction to Sirius that started and ended at her physical appearance—was staring slack-jawed, until he realized that what he was doing might be impolite and snapped his mouth audibly shut.
Remus though...
Remus was experiencing the unique and chilling sensation of puzzle pieces clicking together in her mind.
Oh, she thought, oh okay.

Charms of Fate: Chapter 7
Paring: Remus Lupin x Fem!Professor!Reader
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Plot: Amidst the echoes of a bygone era, you return to Hogwarts years after parting ways with Hogwarts. What begins as a journey fueled by nostalgia transforms into an unexpected reunion with Remus Lupin, now a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. As the past intertwines with the present, the two former classmates navigate the complexities of grief, the resurgence of friendship, and the unwritten chapters of their shared history in this tale of rediscovery and the magic that binds them together.
Warnings: none, I think, but let me know if otherwise.
__________________________________________________
As the night grew more tense, you found yourself in the Great Hall, surrounded by students who were sleeping there for safety. Some teachers patrolled the castle and grounds, eyes alert for any sign of Sirius Black. Amidst the hushed murmurs, you overheard Snape's irritating voice engaging in conversation with Dumbledore.
"Headmaster, I believe I mentioned something about my concern for a certain staff member," Snape insisted.
Dumbledore, calm and collected, cut him off. "Severus, no one has allowed Black inside the castle. We have measures in place to ensure the safety of everyone."
You couldn't help but smirk at Dumbledore's dismissal of Snape's concerns. The conversation continued, but you gazed up at the enchanted ceiling, depicting the night sky with the swirling Milky Way above. Your eyes focused on the moon, and thoughts of Remus filled your mind.
_____________________________________________________
On this heavily stormy day, you find yourself shivering from the cold as you watch the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff unfold. The atmosphere is tense, more so than usual, perhaps due to the recent events that transpired the night before. The game is chaotic, the broomsticks weaving through the turbulent winds, and the players struggling to maintain control.
Your attention is fixed on the two seekers, Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory, if memory serves correctly. They ascend higher and higher, disappearing behind the heavy and dense clouds. Many spectators have shifted their focus to the field, but you can't help but keep your eyes on the spot where the two young wizards vanished.
As you watch with a tight chest, a figure falls from the clouds—it's the Hufflepuff seeker. Panic sets in, but relief washes over you as he regains control of his broom, taking a moment to stop and recollect himself before darting back into the clouds. However, the sense of relief is short-lived as another figure plummets, seemingly unresponsive--it's unmistakably Harry. A collective gasp is heard through the stadium.
The pounding of your heart echoes in your ears as you watch, helpless. In the corner of your eye, you see Dumbledore standing up, his commanding voice cutting through the storm, "Arresto Momentum!" The incantation hangs in the air, a desperate plea to halt the fall and save a life. The entire stadium holds its breath, waiting for the spell's effect to unfold in the violent sky.
Cedric manages to seize the golden opportunity presented by Harry's fall. He dives skillfully, snatching the elusive snitch from the air. The Hufflepuff victory is bittersweet, as the primary concern lies with Harry's well-being.
Amidst the cheers and celebrations from Hufflepuff, you observe the Gryffindor house, witnessing the collective worry etched on their faces. The win seems hollow in comparison to the anxiety and concern for their friend. As a couple of teachers hurry onto the field to attend to Harry and take him to Madam Pomfrey, you can't shake the lingering distress.
Shaken by the Quidditch match, you hesitate before leaving the stadium. Near the entrance, you overhear Dumbledore and Minerva engaged in a hushed yet intense conversation about the breach of Dementors on the school grounds.
Dumbledore's voice resonates with fury, a stark contrast to his usual calm demeanor. "Minerva, this is unacceptable. What is the Ministry thinking? How did Dementors breach the school's protective wards?"
Minerva, her expression a mix of concern and frustration, replies, "I'm not sure, I'm afraid."
You can't help but interject, stepping into the dimly lit corridor. "Dumbledore, what happened? Are the students in danger?"
Dumbledore, acknowledging your presence, sighs heavily. "It seems Dementors have infiltrated the school grounds. I will sort this out with Fudge immediately," Dumbledore's gaze flickers to you. "In the meantime, please do go get warm professors. The weather is quite nasty today."
You waste no time and quickly Apparate into your room, seeking the warmth of the crackling fire. After donning some warmer clothes, you decide to head to the kitchen for a comforting drink. To your surprise, you find Remus there, stealthily snatching a couple of chocolate chip cookies. He looks better than the last time you saw how, though he still looks tired. There's a warmth in his eyes as he turns to look at you, a sheepish smile playing on his lips.
"Well, well, if it isn't the cookie bandit caught in the act," you tease, leaning against the kitchen doorway.
Remus chuckles, holding the pilfered cookies defensively. "Guilty as charged. It's just the perfect time for a little mischief, don't you think?"
You raise an eyebrow, smirking. "Mischief? Or just a craving for sweets?"
"Bit of both, perhaps," he admits, a playful glint in his eyes. "But the real question is, are you here to join me or report me to the cookie authorities?"
You feign consideration, tapping your chin. "Hmm, tough decision. I might need a bribe to keep this quiet."
Remus grins, extending the bag of cookies toward you. "Consider this your hush-money then."
Taking a cookie from the bag, you give him a mock stern look. "This better not become a routine escapade, Lupin."
"Oh, you have my word, dear," he says, winking. "Unless, of course, you want to join me in the glorious pursuit of evening snacks?"
With a laugh shared between you two, he gestures you to follow him.
You follow Remus to his office, where a dim glow emanates from the soft candlelight, casting shadows on stacks of papers marked with red notes and grades. Remus gestures for you to take a seat in one of the worn armchairs as he continues sorting through the scattered mess.
"Grading, I see?" you comment, your eyes scanning the sea of parchment.
Remus chuckles, taking a seat behind his desk. "Caught me red-handed. Needed a break, though. I can only stare at essays for so long before my brain starts protesting."
You join him, sipping on the hot chocolate you managed to conjure. "I understand. Half the time I think I just like to torture myself with the written work I assign."
Remus grins, leaning back in his chair. "Ah, the classic love-hate relationship with grading. I'm convinced every teacher has a secret stash of chocolate to get through it."
"I'm sure you're the only one who has a secret stash of chocolate, Remus."
You share a laugh, but the conversation takes a more serious turn when you bring up the incident with the dementors at the Quidditch game. Remus's expression shifts from amusement to shock.
"Dementors on the school grounds?" he exclaims, concern etched across his features.
You recount the chaotic events that unfolded during the match, emphasizing Harry's fall and the subsequent appearance of the dementors. Remus listens intently, his worry deepening with each detail.
"That's quite concerning," he says, running a hand through your hair. "Do you think Dumbledore is handling it?"
You nod. "He is. I talked to him and Minerva before I left. He said he was going to speak to Fudge as soon as possible. Still, it's disconcerting to think about dementors being so close to the students."
The office falls into an uneasy silence, the air thick with unspoken words. You can feel the weight of the knowledge you carry about Remus's lycanthropy pressing against your conscience. The internal conflict intensifies--part of you yearns to break the silence and reveal what you know, while the other hesitates, fearing the repercussions of such a revelation.
Breaking the tension, you finally speak, your voice carefully measured. "I haven't seen you around lately. Everything alright?"
Remus, ever the master of maintaining composure, flashes a reassuring smile. "Just caught up with work, you know how it goes. The life of a Hogwarts professor."
You take a moment, swirling the hot chocolate in your cup, contemplating your next words. "It's been a few days. How have you been?"
Remus leans back, attempting casual nonchalance. "Busy, busy. Grading, as you see, preparing for the next lesson."
Your gaze sharpens, and you pick up on the subtle nuances in his expression – a weariness beneath the surface, a hint of guardedness. The internal struggle intensifies as you decide whether to confront him or continue the charade. "Glad to hear it. DADA can be demanding."
He nods, eyes lingering on yours a fraction longer than usual, as if searching for something. "And how about you? Managing well?"
You take a deep breath, contemplating your next move. The tension hangs in the air, thick and palpable. The silence stretches, a heavy veil over the room, and in a sudden surge of resolve, you blurt out, "I know."
Remus, who had been maintaining a facade of casual conversation, tenses visibly. His eyes, once relaxed, now betray a flicker of apprehension. You watch as the lines of weariness deepen on his face, and a guarded expression settles in.
Remus, ever the master of composure, attempts to play it off with a forced chuckle. "I'm not sure what you're talking about," he says, his voice straining to sound nonchalant.
But you interrupt him, your own voice steadier than you anticipated. "Don't," you assert, a mix of sympathy and understanding in your gaze. "You don't have to pretend with me, Remus. I've known for a while."
Remus looks at you, a mixture of surprise and curiosity in his eyes. "How did you…?"
You give him a small smile. "Connected the dots. The disappearances, the potion from Snape, and then I heard he assigned an essay on werewolves. It all fell into place."
He chuckles, a bitter sound that echoes in the room. "Always the observant one, aren't you?"
Remus hesitates, a whirlwind of conflicting emotions evident on his face. He battles with the fear of rejection, the worry of burdening you with his lycanthropy, and the undeniable comfort of having someone who knows the truth.
You, sensing his inner turmoil, decide to bridge the gap. Gently, you reach out and take his hand. Remus is acutely aware of the stark contrast between your soft, small hand and his larger, calloused one.
"I was waiting for the right time to tell you," he admits, his gaze dropping to your intertwined hands. "I just never expected you to find out like this."
As Remus tenses, you look into his eyes with a reassuring gaze. "Remus, knowing about your condition doesn't change the way I feel about you. You're not defined by your lycanthropy."
He withdraws his hand, a defensive look clouding his expression. "You don't understand. I'm dangerous, a monster. You have no business being associated with someone like me."
You lean in, your voice unwavering. "Remus, you're not a monster. You're a kind, caring person, and I won't let your condition overshadow who you are."
Remus struggles with conflicting emotions, torn between his self-perception and your unwavering support. The weight of his secret begins to lift, yet the fear of rejection still lingers in his eyes.
Remus is silent for a moment, his gaze flickering with a mix of emotions. "I care about you more than I should," he admits, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't… I can't be with you the way I want. I don't want to hurt you."
You shake your head, a small smile playing on your lips. "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."
In the quiet office, you reach out and gently cup Remus' face, your thumb brushing across his cheek. "You're not alone, you know," you begin. "There isn't a day that hasn't gone by where I don't worry about you. You don't have to carry this burden by yourself."
He looks into your eyes, vulnerability laid bare. A soft smile plays on your lips as you lean in, placing a tender kiss on his forehead. The moment lingers, a reassurance that transcends words. Remus, despite his reservations, begins to feel the warmth of acceptance and understanding, and for the first time in a long while, the weight on his shoulders starts to ease.

Still into you (Remus Lupin x Gryffindor!reader)
Summary - The story of how Remus Lupin and Y/N Y/L/N fell in love.
Warnings - Mention of being disciplined, food, talk about scars, and Remus thinking of himself as a monster. If there's any I missed, please let me know so I can add it to the list.
Requested? - No
A/N - Hi! It's been a while since I posted here, but I was suddenly extremely inspired to write this sorta slow-burn fic about Remus Lupin. This is also my first song-fic, so I hope it turned out well. This is based on the song, 'Still into you' by Paramore. Without any further delay, let's get started!
Y/N P.O.V.
Can't count the years on one hand
That we've been together
Years before Remus and Y/N received their Hogwarts letters, they met at the park by the swings. Y/N remembered this first meeting very distinctly, the cool autumn breeze kept getting her hair in her face, the vanilla ice cream her mom bought her melting into a sticky liquid and drying on her hand as she ran to be the first to the free swing.
A hand grabbed the other chain of the swing at the same time as Y/N’s. Frowning, her eyes followed the hand and noted the owner of it. A boy the same age as her, with a matching frown, light brown locks, and dark brown eyes. Scars littered his face and hands.
“I got here first,” seven-year-old Y/N said, pulling the swing towards her.
“No, I did!” The boy retorted.
Little Y/N looked to her mom for help, but she had stopped running after her daughter to entertain one of her friends in conversation. In the meantime, the boy managed to seat himself on the swing, forcing Y/N to move away as he started swinging, grinning victoriously.
“That’s cheating! That’s unfair!” Y/N whined.
He ignored her. That’s when she noticed another free swing next to the young boy. She quickly sat on it, still frowning and lightly swaying, finishing off the ice cream in her hand.
She tried to ignore the boy next to her, choosing to focus on the trees surrounding the park instead. She laughed at two birds fighting over a piece of bread on the ground, catching her mother’s attention.
Her mother reached her side, scowling at the mess she had made of herself with the ice cream.
“Come on Y/N, we’re going home. We need to clean you up,” her mother said in a strict voice.
Y/N looked back at the swings longingly, only to notice the boy looking slightly guilty. She stuck her tongue out at the boy, who scrunched up his face in return, making her laugh.
The next time she saw the boy was weeks later. The meeting place seemed to stay consistent though.
This time, Y/N was playing in the sand, attempting to make a sand castle using the bucket her mom got her. Once she was done carving in some windows, she sat back beaming, proud of her creation.
Not even a moment later, a group of boys ran past her, trampling her huge project. “Hey!” She stood up and shouted, but they didn’t pay her any mind, continuing their game of tag.
Tears started to build up in her eyes as she fell to her knees, trying to salvage as much of it as possible.
As she tried to rebuild the shape, another pair of hands started helping. It was the same pair of hands she had seen the other day at the park; filled with scars. “I’m sorry, those guys are horrible,” The boy muttered to her.
She sniffled in response. The realization hit them at the same time; they wouldn’t be able to salvage this mess.
“I’m Remus, Remus Lupin,” the boy told her.
“Y/N Y/L/N,” she replied.
“Y/L/N?” he heard him mutter. “You’re magic too?” He asked her in astonishment.
“You know about magic?” Y/N responded, equally excited, temporarily forgetting about her previous disappointment.
“Which school do you want to go to learn magic?” She asked him, practically jumping up and down.
“I don’t know much about the schools,” he muttered sadly.
“Well, there’s Hogwarts, that’s located in Scotland, it’s the one I really want to go to! Then there’s Ilvermorny which is the American school, and Beauxbatons in France, which is where my mum wants me to attend. And there’s also-” Y/N is cut off by Remus as she counted on her fingers.
“I want to go to Hogwarts with you!” he said.
“Yes! We can be best friends forever!”
The kids played around in the sand for a while, throwing handfuls at each other, and trying to beat the others’ castle.
When they had to go home, they promised to meet each other at least once a week. Y/N’s mother dragged her home, with a disgusted look on her face at how messy she had been.
I need the other one to hold you
Make you feel, make you feel better
When Remus told Y/N of his ‘furry little problem’, they both were 10 years old. He had let it slip by mistake.
Initially, Y/N pestered him about his scars, but as she grew older, she understood to respect his privacy.
They were talking about the children’s story, ‘The Three Little Pigs’, and Remus had let it slip that he was the big bad wolf. Y/N laughed it off, thinking it was a joke, but when Remus wasn’t chuckling with her, as he usually did, she turned serious.
“You’re serious,” Y/N said.
The brown-haired boy simply nodded.
Remus was terrified. He didn’t know how she would react; if they would only become close with no secrets left to share between them or if he would lose his only friend. He believed the latter would happen.
“You’re- You’re a werewolf,” Y/N stuttered, letting the information sink in.
“Look, Y/N, I know you probably hate me now, ‘cause I’m a monster-” Remus rambled on.
Once out of her shock, Y/N stopped Remus’s pacing around the room by standing up and holding his hand, effectively calming him down.
“I don’t think you're a monster, Remus. I mean would a monster fold his socks? I don't know much about werewolves though, could you tell me more about them? So I can understand you better?”
“You don’t hate me?” Remus looks into Y/N’s eyes, still frightened at the thought of losing his best friend.
“I've known you for what- three years now? I could never hate you Remmy,“ Y/N says, leading him to the bed in his room to sit down.
“So, are you comfortable telling me more about it?” Y/N said, her hand never leaving his.
Remus nodded before saying, “Yeah, um, a little bit,”
Y/N nodded back encouragingly.
Remus then launched into a vague explanation of how he got bitten at the age of 5 (to which Y/N gasped) and his monthly transformations.
That day, Y/N gave Remus a huge hug, not letting go for a long time, muttering into his ear about how strong she thought he was, going through all of this at such a young age.
After that day, Y/N spent weeks reading up on werewolves and how to help them, gathering all of the information possible.
It’s not a walk in the park
To love each other
Y/N’s parents weren’t blood supremacists, but they expected her to behave like a perfect daughter. Though they didn’t believe in pureblood supremacy, they were still a part of the sacred twenty-eight, so they had to keep up appearances and make others believe they did.
Y/N’s mother had basically raised her by herself.
Y/N would be told to make friends with other pureblood kids at the parties she was forced to attend. Since she didn’t share the pureblood ideals with the other kids, she never really connected with any of them.
Only one kid managed to pique her attention. She saw him just once. It was the older Black child. He made quite an impression on her when he pranked everyone at the party by mixing something in their drinks, making everyone speak different languages.
Between Remus’s transformations, and the appearances Y/N had to keep up, at one point they hadn’t met for over 3 weeks.
But when our fingers interlock
Can’t deny, can’t deny you’re worth it
The night before Y/N and Remus got their Hogwarts letters, they had a sleepover, mentally preparing for the acceptance.
They help hands, fingers interlocked as they opened their letters the next morning before breakfast.
Y/N watched the pure joy on his face in admiration.
‘Cause after all this time, I’m still into you
Y/N and Remus had caught the Hogwarts Express the same summer on September 1st. They found an empty compartment and sat together.
Three other boys joined them later. Sirius Black. She remembered that Christmas night extremely well. James Potter. Another well-known name in the Wizarding World. Peter Pettigrew. She didn’t know much about him but felt bad for the nervous, petite boy.
The kids became quick friends, but Y/N never left Remus’ side.
When all of them were sorted into Gryffindor, they only became closer. Soon, they formed the Marauders, the infamous band of troublemakers.
Y/N couldn’t help Remus through his monthly transformations, but she was always there waiting for him when he came back, battered and beat up, ready to heal him.
They both managed to hide the secret till their 3rd year, which came as quite a shock to them, but considering the boys’ obliviousness, was understandable.
When the boys found out, Y/N had stood in front of Remus protectively, ready to defend anything they would say about Remus. Just as Y/N was at first, they were more or less unaware of the topic, so with Remus’ permission, Y/N explained to them all about werewolves.
They were extremely accepting of him and insisted on doing their own reading and trying to find a solution to help him.
By the end of the year, the marauders (minus Remus) had found a solution; they would all become animagi to help Remus during his transformations. They attempted to hide this information from Remus, but given that none of them could stay quiet for very long, Remus found out soon enough.
He was completely against the idea. Not only was insanely dangerous, but also illegal.
Although, Sirius and James being the hard-headed people they were, didn’t step down either. Remus ended up begrudgingly accepting that none of the Marauders were going to listen to him.
They all finally managed to turn at the end of the fourth year. James was a stag, Sirius a black dog, Peter a rat, and Y/N a black panther.
The first time they tried helping Remus was in June. The last full moon before the summer break. No one got out unscathed. James, Sirius, and Y/N mainly tried to get Remus to stop hurting himself, stopping him from scratching and biting at his own skin, causing him to attack them in his state.
The entirety of the next day was spent in the Hospital Wing, recovering and convincing Remus that it wasn’t his fault and he wasn’t in control.
He begged them to stop, and not help him during full moons, but they kept reminding him that it was their choice and he couldn’t do anything to stop them.
“We’re your best friends Remus. We don’t hate you, and we want to help you. We love you, and we don’t want you hurting yourself. You deserve this and so much more.” Y/N told him one night when they were spending some time together.
During the summers, the Marauders kept in touch through letters, and Y/N helped Remus through his transformations. His werewolf side seemed much more calm when it was just him and her.
The Marauders’ fifth year was eventful. Remus and Y/N were made prefects. Remus shared his first crush with his friends. Sirius had run away from home, and Y/N had her first date, kiss, and boyfriend.
Whenever Remus saw Y/N with her boyfriend, he always had a pit in his stomach. He didn’t know what it was but blamed it on not liking the boyfriend as a person.
Everyone else could see how jealous he actually was.
Y/N didn’t know why, but she would catch herself staring at her best friend of 8 years. She would imagine what it would be like wearing his sweaters and being in his arms all the time. When Remus would talk about his crush, Y/N tried to avoid the topic that was, for some unknown reason, making her uncomfortable.
Remus realized these feelings were jealousy when his best mates were teasing him about it.
Why would he be jealous? He thought.
“Because you’re in love with her,” Sirius simply said, grinning.
“You were thinking out loud,” James said, at the confused look on the taller boy's face.
“No! No, I’m not in love with her!” Remus retaliated. “I like Alice.”
“Sure, you like Alice. But you love Y/N!” Peter quipped from the corner.
That was the moment Y/N chose to enter the common room, causing the four boys to shut up and give her weird looks.
She raised her eyebrows in question at their weirder-than-normal looks. “You guys okay?” she questioned, taking a seat next to Remus on the couch.
She took out her charms book and a piece of parchment to start on the homework.
“Yeah”
“Mm-hmm”
“Totally fine”
“Yup!”
The replies filled the silence as she narrowed her eyes at them, then rolled them, going back to her work.
Y/N soon broke up with her now ex-boyfriend, though they ended on friendly terms, realizing they just weren’t meant to be together.
Y/N came to terms with her feelings when she was hanging out with the girls in her dorm one winter evening.
They were sitting in the Gryffindor common room, by the campfire, talking about anything and everything. Soon the conversation was directed toward crushes. Y/N told them she didn’t like anyone at the moment.
They teased Lily for a while about James. When they all looked his way, he gave Lily a wink. She rolled her eyes in response, but when she turned away, they teased the slight blush on her cheeks.
Y/N’s friends noticed her attention was caught by something else, following her line of view, they grinned seeing Remus Lupin at the other end of it.
“YOU DO LIKE SOMEONE!” Marlene screamed out loud, catching Y/N’s attention along with everyone else’s in the room.
Y/N turns back to the group, eyes opened wide. “What is wrong with you lot?” she whisper-shouted.
“Nothing to see here! Back to your own conversations!” Dorcas shouted, conducting damage control.
“You like Remus Lupin!” Marlene teased, quieter this time.
Y/N glances back at him, who looks away just as their eyes meet.
She blushed at the sight of him hunched over his homework, chuckling when Sirius said something funny.
“Look at her, she’s blushing and everything,” Dorcas teased.
“I like him?” Y/N questioned.
“Yes you do, you dummy,” Marlene taunted.
“So? How are you gonna confess?” Lily asked.
“Confess? No, no, I can’t, I can’t ruin our friendship. I mean, he probably doesn’t even feel the same way anyways,” Y/N rambled.
“Doesn’t even feel the same way,” Marlene mimicked her voice, “Sure. I mean, he’s totally not staring right now,”
Y/N looked back only to see Remus staring dreamily, giving her a smile when he noticed her looking back.
She grins back at him, looking away before she could see other boys tease her new-found crush.
“Okay, so, here’s how you’re gonna confess,”
And with that, the other three girls started cooking up a plan for Y/N to confess to her crush.
One night, after a particularly rough full moon, Y/N stayed by Remus’s side all night in the Hospital Wing, refusing to leave until she saw a sign of him waking up.
Remus didn’t wake up until the next morning though, around mid-day.
Y/N was there holding his hand.
Her head snapped up as she saw movement in her peripheral. Remus was waking.
She left Remus’s side, but only to call for Madam Pomfrey. Once she had caught the Healer’s attention, she was back at his side.
Y/N was the first thing Remus saw when he woke up. A grin immediately appeared on his face.
“You okay?” Y/N asked frowning. “Don’t talk, please, you’ll hurt yourself,”
He nodded.
“Miss Y/L/N, can you please step away for a second, Mr Lupin needs a change of clothes,” Madam Pomfrey said strictly.
Y/N squeezed his hand one last time before stepping away, allowing the curtains to be drawn.
Remus P.O.V.
Once Remus managed to change into the hospital gown Poppy provided him, careful not to touch any fresh wounds, she turned around.
As he sat in his bed, Poppy handed him some potions to drink.
“That girl must be smitten with you,” she said absent-mindedly.
Remus almost choked on the potion at the off-handed comment.
“What?” he managed to say between a fit of coughs.
“Well, she didn’t leave your side all night, I’d say that she’s pretty smitten by you,”
With that, Poppy left.
Y/N P.O.V.
Y/N paced around nervously until she saw Madam Pomfrey step out. She practically ran back to his bed.
“Miss Y/L/N, since you refuse to leave, can you make sure he takes a sip of this potion every hour? It will help with the pain.” Madam Pomfrey said before taking her leave.
Y/N noticed Remus was now sitting up, face contorted in slight disgust due to the taste of the potion he just took.
“Hi Remmy, how are you feeling?” Y/N asked, concerned.
“Fine,” he practically groaned.
“I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help more last night-” Y/N choked on her words as she stepped forward to hold his hand. Tears pooled in her eyes as she imagined the amount of pain he must be going through.
His warm hand squeezed hers in an attempt to console her.
“I’m fine,” he rasped out.
“Is there anything you want?” Y/N asked, wanting to ease his pain as much as possible.
“No, I’m more than happy with you here,” He whispered.
She chuckled in response.
“You really gave us a big scare there, Sirius and James have only gone to class ‘cause they had to make notes for the two of us, otherwise they refused to leave too,” Y/N rambled on.
“Have you eaten anything?” Remus asked her.
“You shouldn’t be worrying about me, You’re the one who needs to be taken care of right now-”
“Have you, though?”
“What?”
“Eaten anything?”
A smile fell on Y/N’s lips at his caring nature. “Yes, I had some toast, that Prongs and Pads got me, wasn’t feeling-”
“I like you.”
That stopped Y/N’s talking.
“Huh?”
“I like you Y/N/N, like more than a friend,” he let the conversation trail off into silence, only disturbed by the ticking of the clock in the room.
He brought up her hand that was still clasped in his to his lips, pressing them to her hand and murmuring “Y/N/N?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m sorry, just in shock. I um, was not expecting that today, but, I like you too. Like a lot.” She replied feeling butterflies in her stomach at his actions. A blush rested on her cheeks.
“Really? Despite my ugly scars and furry little problem?”
“Okay, first off, your scars are the most beautiful thing I’ve seen. Secondly, your furry little problem makes you who you are. The strongest and bravest person I know,” it was now her turn to bring his hand to her lips.
They never broke eye contact. “Can I kiss you?” Remus asked her.
He heard her breath hitch in her throat.
She leaned in, giving him a peck, testing the waters, before going in for a real kiss.
It was perfect.
When they pulled apart, both of them smiled as if drunk on love.
Y/N didn’t know where she found the courage, but she said “Will you be my boyfriend?”
“You’re sure you want to do this Y/N/N?” Remus asked.
“Yes, Remus. When you helped me rebuild my sand castle, that was when I knew, I wanted you in my life forever. I needed someone as sweet and kind as you. When you told me about your furry little problem, you told me your deepest, darkest secret…And that’s when I knew, we could trust each other with our lives. I don’t know when I started liking you as more than a friend, but I do, and you’re my best friend and…maybe boyfriend?” she ended in a questioning tone, “That is if you’ll have me,”
“After that sappy speech, how could I not say yes,” he replied, grinning like an idiot.
She simply laughed and gave him a peck on the lips.
They pulled further apart when they heard applause, confused.
The curtains were drawn open entirely to reveal the rest of the Marauders standing there.
“Finally! I thought you’d never confess!” Sirius exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air.
“Seriously mate. Congratulations though you two,” James said as he swung an arm around Sirius’s shoulders.
“Yeah!” Peter squeaked.
Y/N laughed at their antiques, squeezing Remus’s hand at the embarrassed look on his face.
I should be over all the butterflies
But I'm into you (I'm into you)
And baby even on our worst nights
I'm into you (I'm into you)
Even after years of being together, every time Remus held Y/N’s hand, she felt safe and comforted. Every time he complimented her, the butterflies in her stomach went crazy. She would blush every time he kissed her, or hugged her.
She should be over all the butterflies after years of being together, but she’s still into him.
Y/N continued to become a healer, to help Remus after his transformations. She would stay up all night beside him, making sure to get him medicine as soon as he woke.
The two best friends fell deeper and deeper in love with each other as each day passed.
Let 'em wonder how we got this far
'Cause I don't really need to wonder at all
Yeah, after all this time, I'm still into you
A/N: So I've been obsessed with the Marauders even more recently, especially Remus and Regulus. I hope you liked this song-fic!

Remus Lupin x reader
(Use of y/n, no warnings)
Content: y/n and Remus meet in the Hogwarts kitchen on a sleepless night and share their views of the world and a cup of hot chocolate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝕋ℍ𝔼 buttery sunlight brought an ethereal glow to her face, everything about her seemed so; they said that things like true love were nothing more than fairy tales, made more to deceive than comfort the heartbroken foolish, Remus Lupin tended to agree with such statements, at least until he met her...
It was another first of September, being a second year, this day had become a little less mystical after all, having gone through the experience of being sorted into a house and a year of seemingly endless homework and tests, the first time at Hogwarts no longer seemed so magical; not that he found the castle and everyday life in general to be in any way boring, the boy knew that even if he lived a thousand years he would not know every one of the enchanting and mysterious surprises and adventures that the ancient school had to offer, he just thought that the sorting ceremony was no longer that interesting after having already been through it.
That was when she entered the doors of the great hall along with the other first-year students, looking so adorably dazzled by everything around her, the girl eagerly drank in every detail of the place, with so much enchantment in her eyes that Lupin couldn't help but want to see the world through her eyes, in some inexplicable way, despite his young age he knew that now his life would be divided between before and after that day, every other major event in his life, no matter how important it was, would never surpass the day he saw s/n for the first time...
Back to the present, Remus Lupin was sitting in the library, in theory he should be doing his potions homework, but anyway Sirius and James wouldn't stop talking about tactics for the next match against Slytherin, so there wasn't much he could do other than observe y/n, who was sitting with Lily at one of the tables near the window, the two had become friends, and even with the age difference they seemed attached at the hip.
—My dear Moony, although we know how interesting it is to observe our dear y/n, it would really be good if you helped me and Prongs here to think—said Sirius trying to get his friend's attention.
—It's not like I'm part of the team, my dear friend Pads, my support is limited to cheering for you two from the stands.
—Actually, even at that you're kind of bad, Moony, no offense, but Peter doesn't look like he's come face to face with a Basilic in every match—interjected James wanting to make fun of his friend-I bet you get irritated thinking that you could be spending that time chasing y/n in the library, you spend so much time in this place that I honestly think you'll end up getting married right here, for Merlin's sake!
—James is right about that, and I'll say more, you should stop being a coward and ask the girl out to dinner before someone gets in front of you. I heard that Amos Diggory has a crush on her, and even invited her to the next weekend in Hogsmeade.
—You can't be serious,” Moony snorted.
—And I'm not, but that's what's going to happen if you don't get the courage to ask a girl out soon. Besides, if someone finds out that you don't have the courage to ask a girl out, you might as well be expelled from Gryffindor, the courage thing and all that...,” Sirius teased.
—That's true, and it wouldn't be nice not to have your lessons to copy, a change of house would mess up the scheme of things,” James added in a tone of feigned concern.
—I definitely hate you two, now let's go because we still have to put our books away before dinner, since the two dolls always take a long time to fix their hair and we're always late and end up with the worst seats.
Despite knowing that what Sirius had said was nothing more than provocation, Remus found himself lost in thought throughout dinner. If any of his friends had noticed anything, they had miraculously not commented on it. Knowing him very well, they knew when Lupin really shouldn't be disturbed.
Having been consumed by the internal battle between his insecurity and the growing feelings he had for y/n for the rest of the night, Remus decided to go in search of a cup of hot chocolate after everyone went to sleep. He knew that the silence of the night and the comforting warmth of the drink would help him get his head together, or at least make his incessant thoughts a little more manageable. Armed with the Marauder's Map and the cloak he had stolen from Prongs, he made his way to the castle's kitchen, taking advantage of the moment of calm that only the night could bring to the chaotic building.
The walk was uneventful, the boy was finishing closing the door he had passed through when he noticed her, she was wearing a pink, fluffy robe that matched the purple slippers she had on her feet covered by blue socks, Remus had never seen anything so adorable in his entire life and he couldn't help but stare at her for five long, awkward seconds; if she was surprised or even annoyed by the interruption, the girl didn't show it, she simply gave an amused smile and said:
—Can't sleep either, Lupin? Before she could add anything else, the Gryffindor couldn't help but interrupt her:
—Do you know my name?!-she asked in a tone divided between a little scream and an embarrassed whisper.
— I don't think there's anyone in this castle who doesn't know the infamous Marauders, you're quite famous - the girl commented in a friendly teasing tone - besides, I'm friends with Lily, because of Potter you're a fairly common topic, but you can rest assured that you're definitely her favorite Marauder, and mine too if you want to know, although I think Black is cute.
— We both know it's only a matter of time before those two get together - the boy replied and then walked over to the table where y/n was sitting - Can I?
— Of course, we insomniacs need to help each other - he said, patting her gently, indicating the seat next to her I'll make you some hot chocolate.
While Remus settled into the bench, y/n stood up, and while preparing the drink she asked calmly, with the teasing tone already gone from her voice:
— So, what made you come to the Hogwarts kitchen at a time like this?
—Internal conflicts, they suck if you ask me - says the boy, using his mischievous side to disguise how vulnerable he felt when sharing a lost moment at two in the morning in a dimly lit kitchen with the girl he was foolishly in love with.
—Cinnamon?- the girl asks, finishing the drinks after a positive nod from the boy.
—Thank you very much for the drink - says Lupin as y/n slides the hot chocolate towards him - I'm sure it's delicious.
—I really hope so, it's the only thing I know how to do in the kitchen - she answers with a weak laugh and a shrug, and sits next to Remus.
Both teenagers drank in comfortable silence, the only sound being the rustling of the embers in the fireplace. Despite the lack of words, the feeling of contentment and peace took over the young people. It was a welcome break from the extremely chaotic routine that reigned at Hogwarts. If Remus Lupin were asked, he would deny it to his death, but the reality is that he was blatantly staring at y/n while she looked at the fire with that enchantment that never left her gaze. The light danced in the girl's eyes, throwing the boy into a state that bordered on hypnosis.
—Is there something on my face?— the girl asked, running her hand over it, trying to remove a nonexistent dirt.
The question seemed to shake Lupin out of his stupor. With a shy smile, but moved by sudden courage, he answered:
—Actually, there's nothing wrong with that. I just... I keep thinking about the way you look at the world around you. Ever since I first saw you, I couldn't help but notice how everything seems dazzling in your eyes. There's something about them that I can't understand, much less explain.
—Well, a wise man once said that we should find everything we can beautiful. Most people never see enough beauty. I know there's a war lurking behind the walls of this castle, a darkness that unfortunately won't go away on its own. And don't even talk to me about the injustice that plagues this world that God has forgotten. It drives me crazy... but if we can't find a little light in the midst of all this vastness of despair, what will become of us? I believe that since everything is lost, since greed has taken over everything, there's no point in looking for even the slightest comfort, looking for something that brings hope? We are a lost generation Remus, cursed I would say, but I truly believe in a future where children are free and where prejudice and hatred do not dominate us, but until then what we can do is seek in hope the strength necessary to build that future, if not for ourselves, for those who come after.
—It's a very beautiful way of seeing things, believe me, but I think that unfortunately the world found a way to break me enough to no longer have hope, hope in the end is for people like you, not for a monster like me, at the end of the day I am everything they say I am.
—I don't see any reason for you to be a monster, Remus, even though I know you're human, and like everyone of our kind, you make mistakes, but when I look at you, all I see is someone loyal to the bone, with amazing kindness and intelligence, if you want to know my opinion, and if you don't, you'll listen anyway! — y/n answers seriously, looking at the boy next to her with such fervor in her eyes that it made the older man feel as if he were going to be consumed by her gaze, which during that moment never looked away from his.
Even though he was reluctant, Remus couldn't help but believe in her, even if just a little; in the end, he was sure of one thing, he would never let this woman go again, no matter how long it took, he would gather the courage to ask her out, but for now he would set
—Would you like to have hot chocolate with me tomorrow? It's on me.
—It would be an honor, Mr. Lupin.

WHAT I THINK MARAUDER KINNIES ARE DOING ON VALENTINES DAY
(if you are not single and sad, this post is not for you. RUN ALONG NOW SWEETIE)
-
Regulus kinnies.
I’m a Regulus kinnie myself, and all im doing to do is read books and pine after a person who only sees me as their friend. So im going to assume you’re doing the same.
You are also probably listening to Mistki while you look back at when you felt alive and young.
We need therapy.
-
James Potter kinnies.
You’re probably making notes and cute little drawings for your friends, but you know deep down they’ll forget about you and get you some lousy lollipop or maybe even a heart drawing!
You cannot settle for the bare minimum.
You’re also probably falling for the slightest attention someone gives you, then you get heart broken in the end because you put too much of yourself in your relationship.
BACK AWAY FROM THE BARE MINIMUM. YOU DESERVE MORE.
-
Sirius Black kinnies.
You and your best friend are the only ones who take this siriusly.
But the only reason you take it seriously is because you know how it feels to feel like a joke.
You’re looking at all these videos of these couples doing cute stuff while you’re sitting on the floor of your room wondering, why couldn’t i be like that? Then you’ll come to the conclusion that your parents made you like this.
PLEASE DONT FORGET TO DRINK WATER. I KNOW YOU FORGET TO.
-
Remus Lupin kinnies.
You most definitely forgot it was Valentine’s Day and you slept in. Thankfully you set up your future in your head so you already know what you’re going to for your friends.
Please stop planning your future all in one night. Your brain cannot take this.
You’ll chug some caffeine and tell yourself, it’s just another day. Until you look around and see all these people in love. You go home and binge eat chocolate because you’re sad.
Then you fall asleep again as a coping mechanism.
SAVE THE CHOCOLATE FOR THE REST OF US PLEASE.
-
Pandora Roiser kinnies
You guys are the sweetest people alive.
Too bad everyone takes that as a weakness.
You buy every one of your friends a cute little card and maybe some candy or flowers. All they do is utter a “thanks.” But you don’t mind right? ( you do) it’s tiring feeling like everyone looks down on you. So you’ll try your hardest, but will it ever be enough?
YOU GOT THIS SWEETIE, YOURE ENOUGH.
-
Evan Roiser kinnies.
You guys are either toxic or chill.
Either way, you’re still not over that one person who ruined your life. Your friends are happy, so why aren’t you? Nothing is fair. You pretend to be happy on this day, eating chocolate, writing little hearts, laughing. But deep down, the lingering question is just, “why? Why would they do this? Why did i deserve that?” Maybe you’ll get your answer, maybe you won’t.
MY QUESTION FOR YOU IS, WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE? EVERY EVAN KINNIE IS SO CUTE.
-
Barty Crouch Jr kinnies
You guys probably are stalking your crush right now. You feel like you have to match personalities or stand out from the crowd for someone you like. So on valentines, you’ll find out specifically what your friends like and make a special card or gift for them. Then you play it off, saying “it’s nothing really.” We know damn well it’s not nothing. So when they say thank you, or give you the slightest praise, you get giddy inside.
DONT LOSE YOURSELF.
-
These are just assumptions, so if I get these wrong, DO NOT COME AT ME MAN. THIS IS ME TRYING.
