Do you know who Yuu is canonically close to? Like who actually considers themselves to be friends or at least close with Yuu and willingly interacts with them. I'm sorry if this sounds rude because I know people have their own yuusonas and headcannons but I'm just curious.

In order to respond to this question, I will primarily be referring to the main story. Voice lines are not going to be considered because a lot of them are primarily aimed at the player and serve as fanservice, which does not accurately reflect the character's relationship with them in the main story canon. Events and vignettes do indicate character relationships, but are not technically "canon" to the main story. However, I will bring up examples from these, as while these may not fit in a coherent main story timeline, the lore presented in them is still very sound. Yuu appears to be canonically close with the first years, although their closest allies among this group are Ace, Deuce, and Grim. The first years are seen partying at the end of Terror is Trending as a group, clean up the ghost wedding decorations together, stake out Mickey Mouse + hang out at Lilia's farewell party in book 7 together, band together to help Ortho determine a club to join in his College Gear vignette, and help Ortho research the concept of "evolution" for Fairy Gala: If. Yuu is obviously very close with Ace and Deuce, seeing as they share the same homeroom, eat lunch together, and have gone through many dangerous situations with one another (several OB battles being the main one). They think of each other when one of them isn't included, either! For example, in White Rabbit Fest, Deuce invited Ace to join them (but Ace couldn't due to basketball practice). So Deuce decides to buy him a souvenir instead! Ace extends an invitation to Deuce to join him for Playful Land. And do I even need to bring up the end of book 4 where those two bozos take a long and convoluted trip from the Queendom of Roses to Sage's Island DURING WINTER BREAK to check up on Yuu after receiving a SOS text from them??? Or their tearful reunion at the end of book 6??

Grim is also a very important friendship for Yuu. They are, of course, the first person Yuu meets upon their arrival in Twisted Wonderland, as well as one of their roommates. He's almost always with them, for better or for worse. Yuu is shown to be hurt when Grim attacks them at the end of book 5 and worries for his wellbeing. In fact, the very first time Yuu blatantly acts against Crowley's orders (to stay put) is to rescue Grim in book 6 after he was captured by Ferrymen.

I'd also like to add that the Ramshackle Ghosts are also pretty close with Yuu! They not only live together, but also cover for Yuu when they're unable to fulfill the chores Crowley asked them to do over winter break, play magift/spelldrive with Yuu, worry when Yuu goes away for extended periods of time, and make a Halloween costume for Yuu.

Some honorable/"up for debate" mentions go out to:

Crowley - Some fan works like to portray Crowley (or other staff) as a father figure to Yuu. However, Crowley does the bare minimum in canon to act like a parent and is often offloading work onto Yuu. He doesn't really show affection or go out of his way to spend time with them unless he wants something from Yuu.

"The nice guys" (Rook, Kalim, Silver, etc.) - They're nice to everyone, but not particularly close with Yuu specifically; it should be noted that Kalim, Lilia, and Silver all have called Yuu their "friend" in dialogue. Trey and Riddle - I think it could be said that Yuu is closer to Heartslabyul than the other dorms (partly because two of their closest friends are from this dorm), but I don't know if they're actually "friends"? Yes, Yuu does walk around with Riddle and Trey in book 5 to check out the culture fair. Yes, Trey did send sweets over with Adeuce at the start of their training camp. But I never actually see Riddle and Trey going out of their way to casually hang out with Yuu or anything like that. They seem very... "business professional" with Yuu to me?? But I can see why others may see Yuu being close with the whole dorm. Malleus - I might catch some heat for saying this, but I don't believe Malleus and Yuu are as close as people think they are or want them to be. Do they talk consistently throughout the main story? Sure, but the exchanges are kind of short and usually don't amount to them sharing a lot. Does Malleus help Yuu out? Absolutely, especially in books 3 and 5. It doesn't mean they're necessarily close; every character gets moments where they pitch in. The nickname thing serves as a necessary filler because Malleus refuses to give his real name; it arguably is not a sign of intimacy (especially given that Grim came up with the name, not Yuu). I can see a point being made in Malleus sending a holiday card for Yuu in book 4 and Yuu returning the gesture with a VDC/SDC pass in book 5 (though this could also be viewed as transactional or tit for tat). Think about the main story timeline to put this all into perspective. It's been roughly 6 months since the start of the school year and Malleus and Yuu have only really had brief direct interactions like MAYBE 4 or 5 times total. Yuu doesn’t go over to speak with Malleus upon their return from S.T.Y.X. HQ in book 6; they’re focused solely on their reunion with Adeuce and Grim. They don't have other means of communication (like each others' phone numbers, which Adeuce do have, as seen in book 4) and they don't ever hang out outside of these mandated interactions. Yuu doesn't learn their name properly until book 5, which is in FEBRUARY. And, unlike Yuu's friendships with Adeuce and Grim, Malleus's friendship relies a lot on self-projection. Whereas it's clear that the friendship between Yuu and the idiot trio is mutual, it feels very one-sided with Malleus. Like, Malleus seems more invested in it than Yuu is. He's the one thinking of them on holiday break; Yuu doesn’t think of him on holiday break. They think of Malleus only in like early book 7 when Ortho asks if they know any fae, and it’s for a personal reason too (helping them find a way home).

Yuu's closeness with Malleus is left vaguely defined so the player can insert whatever their own feelings about him are into the scenario. They speak with him in a casual tone, yet they never go out of their way to actually invite him to functions or ask questions to learn more about him. Yuu doesn’t even seem to be that torn up about going back home and never seeing Malleus again. This is not the case with Adeuce and Grim; Yuu has dialogue options which imply they would miss their company. Yuu feels so… detached from Malleus; he at best feels like an amicable (?) acquaintance, but not a friend.

In your opinion, how would you rank the games from best to worst written?

// As much as I love DL, I feel like a lot of the games were somewhat unnecessary, since they added very little to the story. That said, I’m sure there are people who genuinely love every single one of them and I totally respect that!

1. Dark Fate

Each route featured plot, character development, and romance. The introduction of the Founders was interesting, and they made for some really compelling villains too! It’s not a flawless game, but definitely the coolest one of the franchise.

I know it’s just a fanservice game, but the concept of Yui’s heart being replaced with a Kleinod and her needing to reclaim it with the help of the Diaboy of her choice was really touching. You could clearly see how desperate everyone was to save the person they loved, proving that their feelings were pure.

3. Chaos Lineage

It’s frustrating how much potential this game had, only for it to be so poorly executed. But, no one can deny that it showed character growth not just in terms of their own personality, but also in how the characters’ relationships evolved. I didn’t like it at first, but then I started paying more attention to the dialogue, and realized that the interactions were really engaging.

4. More Blood

I agree that the Sakamaki routes were boring and downright frustrating, but the Mukami lore was so entertaining! I also liked how even the Sakamakis were shown to be capable of genuine love by the end of their routes. They weren’t completely softened, but there was visible development, which was nice to see.

5. Vandead Carnival

Overall, it was a cute game, though the writing was dumb at times. I only ranked it this “high” because at least the routes were less repetitive than what’s next.

6. First game/ unofficially called HDB

Did it have funny scenes? Yes. Did it have fanservice? Absolutely. But did it have an actual plot? Not really. The closest thing to a storyline was in Reiji’s route, and even then, it only showed up in the last section. The whole game is basically just fetish content for masochists, with repetitive chapters, which is fine if you’re into that, but there wasn’t any development that could be called real development. In the book, it’s literally confirmed that there was no true love between Yui and any Diaboy, so in the end, it all felt kinda pointless.

7. Lost Eden

What’s worse than having no plot? Having a bad plot. This game had no reason to exist, especially since DF already gave the franchise a perfect ending. Not only that, but it unnecessarily ruined so many relationships between the characters. At least with HDB, you knew what you were getting into with its S&M themes. But here? The bad events weren’t even the fanservice type—they were straight-up torture p0rn. This game was so dark that it was boycotted in some countries and remains the lowest-rated Diabolik Lovers game to date for a good reason. It’s just that, for me, the other games delivered a better experience.

it’s a bold statement to make but i stand by it.

i firmly believe that mike fell for will first and realized it was wrong first. as bylers we talk a lot about how mike had mountains of queer coding and was “gayer” than will in previous seasons. which i think this is why the GA tends to think that will liking mike is fanservice or doomed to fail because they only saw the confession in the van scene. (apart from lacking media literacy) i genuinely think mike had always seen will as special to him, genuinely as like the light of his life, and while society/his family conditioned him to internalize his feelings, his own lack of self worth pushed him to hide his true self (but will later push him towards will). i think the biggest indicator to mike that his feelings could never be expressed was when his own father stated “see what happens mike?” yes it could’ve been seen as a half assed ignorant comment or a warning to mike but i think mike actually interpreted it as, “will being queer was the reason for his demise”. not only the demise of death but mixed with the downfall of how society viewed will as an individual. mike was already apart of the outcasts and not well liked, but mixing that with how no one even really mourned will, now that really scared mike.

so how does this all play into my claim? mike was in love with will when he died. part of him died that day with will. that was a good reason of why he didn’t hesitate to jump off the edge (yes for dustin but there’s more to it than that). thus, when a nearly impossible possibility that will was alive came to be, mike jumped at the chance. yes, because he loved will. but more so he had found his self worth back. it’s why we see his drive to repair his “relationships” dustin, lucas, and el, all of them now working together for the sole purpose of finding will (and yes keeping el safe). it’s why i believe he is no longer hesitant to show his full devotion to will at the end of season one, by being the first to run to will when he wakes up and why he chooses will repeatedly during season 2. he loved will all along, he loved that will gave him strength and self worth again. (something i might add he never felt with el, he ALWAYS felt weak and inferior and with el it only magnified that when we see how she has powers and could save people something he doesn’t think he can do.) as social pressures kept rising, it all pushed him to fall back onto heteronormativity. and yet, even in his peak “straight bro” era. his love for will outweighs that, he chooses will through the storm that is season three and why he biked miles through the storm after the rain fight (bane of my existence btw). i don’t think it’s because he started to recognize his feelings for will in season 3 which prompted his obsession with el, i believe he always did know about them, from the start. and it’s why he continues to go back to will even when he does everything in his power to keep up his facade, he still knows that it’s will that he will always choose. so by season 4, when mike’s back to his bs and forcing his attraction to el. we see it completely fail, over and over he incriminates himself and finds himself going back to will. again you ask why? because will has shown him what he has always needed, someone who sees his worth and is willing to stay with him even when he doesn’t see his purpose anymore. will empowers mike, not because will is weak and needs a savior because they just fit together and do that for each other. it’s the same reason will finds his own strength to confess (though with a cover) to mike. will finds his voice through mike, mike finds his strength and purpose through will. everything they need (emotionally), they find just that in the other.

So I love Dandadan actually because through those first seven episodes I couldn’t stop repeating to myself “Wow Momo is so fucking cool” like she’s such a genuine badass. My shounen senses were primed for her to just get saved over and over again, maybe just helping out every now and then but no SHE’S the one doing the majority of the saving. She and Okarun both feel like real people and they’re setting up a sweet and genuine romance that doesn’t feel creepy. The voice acting is also so good like she is SCREAMING out here.

Usually when an anime has two protagonists and one is a female she feels like a passive observer just getting swept along for the ride even when they’re supposed to be “tough” it fades away or they are made lesser to make the male lead look better. But Momo and Okarun actually work together!!! They both act like human people!!!! Including the ugly parts with Okarun’s avoidance tendencies and Momo regretting when she does lash out because she knows she’s in the wrong. And they talk about it after she does!! It comes with a healthy dose of “teenagers are kind of mean because they’re still maturing” which is normal and amazing to see.

This anime is healing something I didn’t even realize was broken when I found myself not having to cringe away from little moments that make me uncomfortable. There is a bit of fanservice going on (thanks grandma) and yes I get episode 1 starting off as a bit much for people but honestly, genuinely, did you think aliens WEREN’T going to try and probe someone in the Alien Ghosts Anime TM. Kidnapping humans and cows for experimentation is what they’re most famously known for. You are meant to be uncomfortable and weirded out by this episode. An episode that ends when she unlocks fucking psychic powers and blasts that alien through the wall of a SPACESHIP like hello??

Momo Ayase is that character you give a gun to if you want to shorten the book by half and the author gave her one in the form of psychic powers.

There's something inherently hilarious about people preaching confidently about things they very clearly don't know while sounding like they've just discovered the concept of basic foreshadowing. Like, yes babe, please keep telling Jikookers to "just wait until the military's over" so we can "finally see their real FEMALE partners" as if that train hasn't already left the station, crashed, and been rebuilt into a luxury mansion.. Uhm.

It's the conviction for me. The certainty. The "you'll see soon" energy that's about to age like milk on a hot windowsill.

And then.. plot twist! There's the sudden burst of legal inspiration from a certain someone who previously couldn't be bothered to address a thing but now is suddenly panicking on live, threatening lawsuits, and spiraling like a cartoon villain cornered in the final scene. How poetic. It's like watching someone walk into their own trap in slow motion. It's giving "Say Jimin's name one more time and my lawyer will appear in the mirror" energy. Some people need to stop playing with names they were never meant to say out loud. The "fueling the rumors is gone". The silence is gone, replaced by a high-pitched squeaking and legal threats. Karma didn't knock, it filed paperwork.

Meanwhile, over in a much more peaceful parallel timeline, where very unbothered individuals have been doing.. spring cleaning of sorts. Things are just.. moving. Literally. Stuff, energy, presence. One minute something's in a place, the next it's not. And that "not" just so happens to align with a location that certain people definitely don't want mentioned in the same sentence as Jimin. But hey, coincidences, right?

And shout out to the unhinged K-solos who really thought they were ending careers, only to accidentally confirm what most of us clocked three Februarys ago. Oops. The timeline said "thank you for your contribution". The wigs? Scattered. The delusion? Shattered. Your fantasy y/n storyline? Cancelled due to lack of realism.

Me? Oh no, i don't know. I'm just a little moonbeam floating through the timeline, watching the puzzle pieces assemble themselves in HD. I just sip tea and raise my eyebrows when people say "fanservice" like the emotional intensity, private matching vacation time, and shared zip codes were part of a BigHit PowerPoint deck.

Let's start with the end here why don't we?

JM and JK are the real thing. They have a real actual relationship unlike the dreamt up needing to lean on made up fanart relationship that Tkks delude themselves JK and Tae have.

That is the starting point.

Jikook are the real deal. A real life long term loving couple. TKK are not. Not a couple. Friends yes. At times closer at times not so much, but always and only friends.

So, let's talk about that fanart. It's from 2022. 22 July 22 to be accurate. I am literally feeling sick to my stomach at the moment, but I will share the photo, cause I'm going to be making a point here.

Because that is the day ITS Friendcation came out.

And guess what we got in that first episode of the show.

Basically what we had was TKK's in their hazed daydreams wishing that instead of Tae sleeping together with his squad, to which a one Jeon Jungkook does not belong no matter how much they want to twist it (same crew that left JK at the ski resort by himself while leaving together), instead of Tae waking up with Wooga and their match plaid pj's and brushing teeth together, it would be JK there with him.

Like I say, dream on.

That fanart of theirs, is a dream not a reality, and they can scream until they are blue in the face, it won't change the fact that the one brushing his teeth with JK at the moment is JM, not Tae, by choice. JK choice. JM's choice. They both wanted it. They both planned it. They both worked towards it. And they are both living it right now.

I find it kind of funny how TKKs keep on screaming that JM and JK's travels are for the camera, not genuine, all for the buck. If that was true, if Jikook were indeed the 'fanservice' couple for BH, if Jikook were a money maker as a unit for the company, how is it that this cash machine has never been properly utilized. It always amuses me to hear this from them all while most of Jikook's interactions are off camera, not for us to intentionally see. This one unit that has never come to fruition officially (until now, and there is a reason for that and a reason why we are getting more now, none of which are them being 'faked' for the camera in order to make money).

I love how they twist everything to fit a constant changing narrative. I actually don't know how they keep up with themselves. It would be so exhausting.

I saw Mina's tweets. Will not share them here. I will not give that hateful ***** a platform here. All I will say is that it must be so very hard for her right now. Reality is hitting and it's hitting hard. I guess it's a last hurrah, an attempt to cling to their fantasy. Basically acting like a belligerent child having a tantrum.

If I didn't loath her and her kind I would actually pity them. They are going to be so very miserable in the upcoming months. Not to mention after they are all back from the military.

I guess these weirdos need to be reminded that JM and JK's Tokyo trip back in 2017 was not for the cameras. A trip eternalized with JK's GCFT, a trip they could not stop talking about, a trip they continued to talk about in their book under the title Real love.

I won't remind them of just how fondly JK was talking about their trip and the show, nor will I bring up that shining sun of a smile he had when JM says he'll hug him later, cause you know, these are basically fans that have no interest in what the idol they supposedly love (yeah, no love there) says or feels. It's about what they, as fans, want to feel dreaming about buff JK the fuckboy, bad boy, man handler and his dainty weak boyfriend Tae (with their love hate toxic jealousy drama filled relationship).

I also guess they need to be reminded that not all of JM and JK's time together was filmed, not all of it was for the cameras, as they love to put it. Not in NY, and definitley not in Tokyo 2023. Funny how two people that were working on enlisting together and got to fulfill their wishes and make sure that the 18 months of their military service they are inseparable, even if that means a tougher placement than if they enlisted separately, still wanted to go on these trips together. I think that by now any claim that this was forced on them - the trips, the show, the enlistment - have been long disproved.

And for a couple that the company are 'trying to push on us' it's really funny how silent they have been since their enlistment. But yeah, these people will continue to say what they want because otherwise their dreams are dead. Kind of like Larry's that still think those two are a thing.

Fanart is art (not that some of the fanart out there would be considered art by myself, but you know, that's a personal taste, or distaste, and that btw includes some Jikook fanart as well). It can replicate or express reality but it can also be an outright fantasy.

In this case it's TKKs seeing the reality (Wooga and Jikook) and expressing fantasy (their ideas or wishes applied onto TKK), lol.

What a blow that must have been for TKKs. And this whole scrambling thing they are doing, that this is "the company" copying their fanart. Absolutely hilarious.

Jikook have shown us over the years that they love plaid. Not gonna add pics here cause there is no end to them. JK, JM alone, together, plaid is something they have been doing. Specifically? Not necessarily. But it's something they wear.

Jikook themselves have worn plaid pj's in the past for LGO MV (and the live as well - do I remind you guys of JK's joke about why he decided to have JM brushing his teeth?). Director JK. Their choice.

The fanart TKKs are squealing about was not an original piece of art that a TKKer came up with. They literally copied the pajamas worn by the Woogas in ITS Friendcation inserting JK into their fantasy.

If people would watch original content they would know that Jikook, both of them, tend not to wear pj's at home. Not around the house and not in bed. We saw JM in ITS 2. We saw JK in his bed live (in which I would love to remind TKKs how flirty and naughty he was with JM all while being half naked in bed, nagging JM to do a live with him, all his choice, all knowing that the company will not be happy with him, lol - still waiting for that Jikook live, you know from the company's "for the cameras" couple). Oh, and we also have the LV live. Yeah, that was an interesting one. Seeing that not only did we hear from JM and Hobi that JM walks around in his undies at home but that JK is in charge of the soundtrack... I guess while he's in his undies as well...(JM's reaction to Hobi's slip up was priceless). Point being that those two don't do clothes for sleep. But clearly they couldn't go 'au natural' for the show, so they chose to wear pj's.

And just like the other clothes that they chose to wear throughout their travels, that we will get to see in the show, they chose to wear these pj's.

This is not a photo shoot. This is them coming from home with their own clothes wearing what they want to wear, what they feel comfortable in. And they chose to wear those pj's knowing EXACTLY how it will be perceived.

And just like Wooga chose to wear the plaid pj's, which btw were all identical, like the rings they wear, probably as a symbol of their friendship, all while NO ONE ever dared to claim that they were dressed by stylists or forced into wearing them or that the creators of the show even suggested the idea to them, JM and JK chose to wear these pj's that are not identical but seem to be perceived as couple's pj's.

Pajamas sold out of course, the company's caption at the bottom being: "How about watching the show together in couple pajamas?"

Their choice.

Their decision.

Filming themselves brushing their teeth - their decision.

I want to make something clear here. They have said it and I will repeat it. This is not a scripted show. This is them travelling, experiencing, enjoying themselves (you cannot fake those smiles and giggles), filming themselves. That angle, the camera in the bathroom, that is a camera they placed there, they wanted us to see this just like JK wanted to show us JM brushing his teeth and coming out to him in the bedroom.

Do I remind you what happened when a camera was placed in a room when they didn't want us to see what they were up to?

This is not 2018 anymore. This is 2024 (well, filmed end of 2023, and may I just note that after the new contracts were signed, and I do think this is highly relevant as to what we are going to be getting in this show, what we will be allowed to see, the level of candor). No more hidden cameras in rooms (I think the company had realized that was a dangerous game they were playing at), and their artists control over what will be filmed and what not.

Their choices, their decisions, not some company executive. Them. The two of them.

I will end this by saying that I doubt that Jikook are even aware of this TKK fanart.

But if they were, then this wouldn't be them copying the fanart trying to create the illusion they are a couple.

No need for an illusion when you ARE the real deal.

If, by any chance, they were aware of the fanart then I would say that any connection to it would be them saying a big FUCK YOU to TKKs and their delusions.

But yeah, I do doubt they were even aware of this pic.

JK's search logarithm is Jimin based. Not TKK. So keep dreaming TKKs, cause not only are TKK not the thing you so very much want them to be, the thought of that thing, them as a couple, you as a fan group, your art and fantasies, all those aren't even a blip on JM and JK's radars.

This used to be a part of a post, but I decided to make it into a separate one, because it speaks of crusual things for understanding SVSSS, it's plot and it's characters.

As I found out recently, there's a huge misunderstanding going on in the English-speaking segment, probably dew to an English translation of SVSSS (only a speculation, I myself never had this problem, although I read in several other languages as well, so I can compare) concerning the fact whether or not PIDW was originally planned by Airplane as a yaoi with bingqiu as an OTP. (Spoiler: yes, it was). Some readers are mislead by two quotes, that they take as a contradictory, which in truth, they are NOT.

The first one is from a Chapter "The story begins". It is the last chapter of the novel, after this the extras start. And this particular chapter is a culmination: this is where the truth is reveled. Like in a detective story, where we finally find out, who the killer is. This meant to become a real "bomb", that makes a reader go WOOOW!!! And this is THE KEY for understanding the whole story: the plot and the characters, especially Luo Bing-mei (and Luo Bing-ge). And it speaks about the original INTENTIONS of the Airplane, that he betrayed in order to please the crowd and that came true in the universe of the System. (original scrapped outline(c))

The second quote, from the extras, on the other hand speaks of an EXISTING PIDW, (original outline(c)), that he actually wrote, but never finished, because he died and woke up in the Universe of the System. And it gives us a glimpse into the way he planned to finish it.

The first quote, from the final chapter:

Shen Qingqiu looked him up and down. “You don’t look crushed at all after all this foolish messing around ended up completely changing your own novel.”

Shang Qinghua said, “You can’t say it like that ah. Maybe you think it’s just all foolish messing around that isn’t worth a damn, but for Bing-ge, your foolish messing around is probably the meaning of this entire world.”

The English translation, which I only read recently, in my opinion is not very clear, in comparison to, for example, Russian translations, and not just the most popular version by Псой и Сысой, for ex: there are more than one, and they all pretty much nailed it. 感情线 used in original (that's what, apparently, caused the doubts for some reason, in spite that the quote itself absolutely clearly speaks of 《Proud Immortal Demon Way》’s original outline, the one big "error of a novel", that needed to be redressed, and not the scrapped original outline that never saw the daylight) itself refers to a "romantic plotline". So the author himself tells you, that his original Bing-ge had none. But how come? Why is that? Bing-ge, as we know, has got a huge harem, he for sure cannot be the case of dying alone without love!.. Or can he? Apparently, this is exactly his fate - no love. And the Airplane, the way he planned the original scrapped outline, knows better than anyone else - there's, well, none. The Protagonist's harem is nothing to do with romance whatsoever (see the quote below from the forum as an example, what the readers of PIDW themselves think of the relationship between Bing-ge and his harem). It all has to do with protagonists coolness and power and getting everything, including all the women, because he is super powerful and he is the center of that universe. It's about power, it's about lust, it's about influence and control, and showing, who the real boss is. But not love or romance. PIDW is not a romantic novel in a slightest: its a third rate pornography and a ode to toxic masculinity, so distasteful and disgusting, that the resentment of it's author with his own creation was powerful enough to create the whole new universe (The System) just to correct it! And this particular quote speaks of Bing-ge not having ANY SIGNIFICANT RELATIONSHIP, LOVE. Псой и Сысой for translating 感情线 in this particular case use much more explicit and profound "заслуживающи�� упоминания эмоциональные привязанности" ("the emotional connections worth mentioning"), rather than abstract "romantic plotline". Because the only significant person in his life pushed Bing-ge away. (And we know, who that person is, thanks to the System Universe - his shizhun.) Romance has nothing to do with the amount of partners he fucks - they are not of any romantic or emotional significance for Bing-ge. This is how his relationship with the harem is described by the PIDW reader's forum in the novel:

"Airplane really doesn’t know how to write romance plotlines, best if he just doesn’t. I feel like Luo Binghe doesn’t have feelings for any of his wives, he just wants to use them. And I can’t see any of those women with real moving emotion for him. "(NB, Ch. 73)

So - no romance for Bing-ge in PIDW, the Airplane didn't grant him this privilege and happiness. And yes - the ending for the tyrant he's become in PIDW is not happy in a slightest.

So, binqui did not appear out of nowhere, and yes - it has always been there from a beginning, in the core of everything. Implied. This is not only canon: it is the exact essence of it, the base, the foundation, which explaines everything that happens in the novel and even beyond - in PIDW, where the mighty protagonist that has everything, except the only one thing he really needs - the love of his shizun - is doomed to an eternal unhappiness and loneliness.

Especially on tumblr if I look at the Single Viktor or Jayce tag, the ENTIRE thing is choked out by jayvik. And I like it, it’s cute, but it’s gotten to the point that I can’t see any content just appreciating their characters alone without the need of a ship. It’s the same for caitvi too

I think there’s something to be said when analyzing season 2, that it’s a perfect example of why writers should not let fans dictate their story’s. Jayvik had phenomenal build up in S1, but the way they were portrayed in S2 felt like fan service- let me explain

So much of the jayvik content I see is incredibly out of character and stereotypical (as many MLM pairings are reduced too) Viktor is either a helpless twink, or an all powerful god that has Jayce on a leash. Why are we making Viktor a shy soft boy? He was the CEO of the sassy man apocalypse?

It’s also very sad to see Jayce’s character get watered down to “pathetic himbo golden retriever twunk with no brain cells” and yeah, the pathetic Jayce memes are funny but it’s annoying when people think that’s ALL his character is. He gets written as a dick-for-brains dumbass with 0 common sense or basic skills… when he was a university educated engineer and eventually POLITICIAN

But back on topic to jayvik in s2 feeling like fanservice, a lot of the time I see fans wanting jayvik to have an almost codependent relationship, and that’s exactly the undertone a lot of jayvik moments in s2 had. The dynamic between Jesus/machine herald vik and Jayce was undoubtedly toxic with a huge power dynamic. I’m just very disappointed because I was excited to see jayvik be developed more in a creative way, and instead they just slapped on the soulmates trope.

And don’t get me wrong- do I love Viktors end monologue? Yes. Do I think they should have kissed with some tongue at the end? Absolutely. But the entire situation of s2 just felt icky, not to mention how Viktor completely lost is autonomy to the arcane TWICE in one season. Idk but Viktor becoming a whole maniacle malevolent god who wants to “perfect” all of humanity… but can only be brought back to his own humanity by his boyfriend just felt… cheap.

It felt like a metaphor for Viktors disability, and how he needed to be “saved” from himself. Which in turn completely nullified all of this character development. And do not get me STARTED on how much Viktors arc was ruined in season 2, that deserves a whole post in itself

Overall these are purely my opinions, and I’m still going to be hypocritically eating up jayvik content with a spoon because it’s still my favorite ship, I just believe it could have been portrayed better. I saw your posts about Save, First and Boom so I wanted to drop a bit of gossip (idk if you already know this but why not):

Boom and Save were both in a friend group with G and another member called Tar (plus others that came and went, First used to live stream with them too). They were popular on social media (they still have a bunch of thai and japanese fans actually) and their biggest pull was the SaveG ship. A lot of people think it was just fanservice but some think they actually dated because they just stopped posting together one day out of the blue and wiped everything and started hanging out separately with their friends sometime in 2024 (it was giving very much a real break up of sorts).

People were even questioning if they broke up for Save’s career because he joined GMMTV after but that seems like a stretch to me.

Just today, G was actually painting something with the meaning of “strangers to friends, friends to lovers and back to strangers again” on his livestream which could or couldn’t have anything to do with it too.

Anyways the real tea is that G dated (not so secretly) the guy that Ohm Tpk was pretty recently “openly” dating (probably still dating but keeping it dl because of MarkOhm). G was dating him for at least a couple of years (while SaveG was actively being shipped lol), they ended around late 2022 and Ohm started lovestagramming with the guy from beginning of 2023.

It’s funny how interconnected everyone somehow is (most queer circles tend to be but it’s funny seeing things play out with actors). Also is it just me or do all these thai gay bl actors only date fellow rich ass men? Because G’s ex and Ohm’s current bf is swimming in money too and went to really good schools. I actually have a lot to say about that (in relation to the bl industry but I’ll save it for another day).

"Honey, please, I'm sorry."

Startled by the familiar voice, you look up to the man, who turns out to be Minghao.

"Why are you here?"

"You just did a night shift last week. It's impossible you're on one again this week"

He may be a very busy man, but he still has your schedule memorized. You just stare at him kneeling below you with your eyes slightly swollen from crying.

"Let's come inside before you catch a cold, hm?"

Minghao sat beside you for a while, waiting for the rain to calm down. While at it, he began holding your hand, rubbing circles on it to calm you down. He didn't talk just yet, afraid that it'll just make you more upset.

The sudden downpour didn't last long and it has stopped raining immediately. Your boyfriend took it as a sign to carry your bag and take your hand to walk you home. The walk back home was quite silent, not until his unspoken sentiments finally came out.

"You know, it's not that I'm scared of breaking my idol image. I'm just afraid that everyone goes after your identity... that's how the media acts, doesn't it?"

Looking at it, now, he's right. You suddenly feel a pang of pain in your chest as guilt drowns you. Maybe you just overreacted because of today's circumstances. Maybe you were actually being selfish.

"I'm sorry I over—"

However, before you could speak, he interrupted you.

"But that doesn't mean I can't protect you. Y/n-ah, give me another chance please?"

He comes in front of you and pleads, his despair and sadness showing through his eyes.

"I'll make it up to you. I'll be more open on showing the world how I love you. I know how bad it must've felt for you all this time we've been together, but I'm ready now, really."

There was nothing but sincerity in his words.

"No—but—it's okay that you don't reveal our relationship to the media yet—"

"Then I'll make it so obvious that anyone with eyes would know."

"... just so that .... they know ... that I already have a muse ..."

You couldn't stay mad at your boyfriend—not when he's professing his love ever so genuinely in front of you. He suddenly becomes breathless as your hands find their way to his cheeks, cupping them before pressing a soft kiss to his lips.

"Uhh....let's get back home before it rains"

He'll never admit it to himself, but he still gets flustered when you kiss him, even after a year of being together. On the way back home, he asks you about your day, and upon knowing about everything that happened, he helps you sort it all out.

From that day on, people online have started speculating him of dating someone. After all, who wouldn't speculate a man who posts paintings of a girl so frequently, having the same face always, just in different backgrounds. The captions weren't any better too, as they were always pulled from chinese romance novels. He never directly admitted to have been dating someone, but also never denied it. It has gotten to the point where Carats began begging him to just reveal his girlfriend instead of acting like a disgustingly lovesick boy. However, he likes to keep it sentimental and private. Maybe one day he'll just surprise them with a wedding ring—but that's for another story.

Some things about the BEYOND PV

So, let's quickly (well, you know how "quick" I am in these) talk about Digimon Adventure BEYOND, aka the PV that they dropped at the Digimon Con yesterday. Before I talk about anything else, let's quickly address again what this is and what it isn't.

This is not a trailer. This is a PV meant to release and stand on its own. According to @ayukaze's translations of the website, this is basically based on some stuff that once upon a time was planned to tie into the final episode of 02 but in the end did not make it into the actual show. Though, obviously there is some fanservice in regards to the stuff that released since then going on with possible cameos of both Meiko and Rui.

But general, yeah, it is not really surprising that some of what we see does not line up with events from tri., Kizuna and The Beginning, because if what the site says is true, and right now there is no reason to doubt it, this is based on stuff that was written or at least pitched long before tri., Kizuna and The Beginning were written or even thought of.

Now, again, this is not a trailer for either a Trailer or OVA. Though, let's be fully honest: If fandom eats this up, chances are that Toei & Bandai might milk the Digimon Adventure cow a bit more and make this into a movie or OVA or something else. I mean, let's face it. Even with this just being a darn PV, they probably are going to make some merchandise of the designs of the adult kids in this video. lol

This being based on ideas thrown around in 2000 also explains why there are some call backs to some stuff that has been brought up in 02 and never mentioned again.

Before I am starting with overanalyzing this thing, let me quickly once more invite everyone to the Digimon Rewatch Discord Server. A general SFW Digimon Discord Server - mainly for a community rewatch, but you can also just join to discuss the show and games.

But let's go through some of the stuff we can see here, and what we can tell from it.

We start with the intro calling back to the epilogue of 02 with Takeru's novels and him writing. I did a translation of this writing of his yesterday. No guarantees of the correctness, my Japanese sucks ass. But I let a friend check it, so I guess it is not totally wrong.

“It's okay, you don't need to worry about it from now on [...] The Digimon next to you is [...] [...] is the Digimon behind me. [...] They look completely different, and [...] [...] me and you have partner Digimon. [...] I heard that you can't go back to your family [...] [...] and that you've been going through a tough time. But it's okay now. [...] I'll take you to a place where you can live safely. [...] [...] They'll be here soon. [...] They're really reliable people. [...] They've saved the world from danger many times before [...] I'm not much older than you, but [...] do you know the country of Japan? I'm from there. [...]

This is where the video cuts over to Kuwagamon flying away while a car is on the road.

With the Kuwagamon we hear some thanks to "Yuri", which will obviously is a reference to the Russian Chosen Child Yuri, whose partner is Kuwagamon.

If you look at the license plate of the car this also confirms that we are in Russia right now and this is happening in Russia. (And yes, the license plate is an easter egg: DM 2581B - Digimon 2025-8-1 Beyond. No, do not expect them to release anything related to this on August 1st. It is just because we have the year 2025 and August 1st is Odaiba Memorial.)

Referencing the translation by @ayukaze again, there was apparently this idea that with more and more Chosen Children appearing, some militaries would try to forcefully recruit those kids and their Digimon. And it makes sense in this regard that the dialogue above is Iori talking to the kid he and possibly Yuri and maybe the other Russian chosen have just rescued.

It is kinda ironic, if this idea had been around forever, given how rosy the actual epilogue let the entire "everyone has a Digimon partner" thing seem. Because, yeah, I absolutely do agree with this idea. The militaries trying to recruit those kids who might or might not end up with a nuclear missile shooting dinosaur makes a hella lot of sense. lol

The kid in question has a Kyaromon as their partner. The kid seems to be probably between like 10 and 13 years old - it is kinda hard to say in this artstyle. Just as the gender is not quite clear, though given they do not have eyelashes, I guess they might be a boy.

Kyaromon obviously would not have featured in the anime in 2000 or 2001 (when that last episode aired) given it was only introduced in 2005.

While they are driving, Taichi and Yamato talk. Apparently Yamato got himself an international driver's license, and also calls out Taichi for still not being good with English. Mind you, this is something I will still give 02 credit for back in the day: While with some of the kids the language issue did not come up (especially in America, where they just handwaved the issue with "Oh, Mimi taught everyone Japanese") they generally addressed the issue of cooperating with folks who speak another language. That was neat.

Taichi also mentions that he has recently learning some French from Yamato's grandpa. Which is a nice callback. Though if I am understanding the way Yamato speaks in his reply correctly, it sounds as if said grandpa has very recently passed away.

They then get attacked by a Digimon - Yatagaramon to be exact. Yatagaramon like Kyaromon was introduced in the Digimon Accel in 2005, so yeah, it also would not have been around back then. But I guess in general those enemy Digimon are quite exchangable. I guess if something like this would have featured in 02, it would have been Airdramon, which was kinda 02's go-to Digimon for "random flying Digimon to fight" lol

Something I found cute though, as Taichi pulls out a smartphone for Iori to open a portal to the Digital World, the phone has the Pinable Logo on it.

For context: Back when Adventure was written, it was really super hard in Japan to bring in actual brands into anime and manga. That was also why you would regularly see "WcDonalds" in anime, as they could not just use "McDonalds". So Koshiro has technically a MAC, but they could not use the Apple brand. So they turned it into a pineapple. Which is adorable and a nice callpack with the iPhone here.

Obviously I am going to argue that very likely this smartphone would not have featured either in a possible version in the last episode, given that they probably did not see the smartphone coming.

Though I really enjoyed this little thing, given that just days ago I had been talking to a friend on whether or not it would be possible to open the Digital Gate from a modern smartphone or not.

What follows is Iori and the Russian Chosen child disappearing into the Digital World, while Agumon and Gabumon evolve into Greymon and Garurumon. Not much to say here, other than that I really liked how they designed the evolution sequence here. It is neat. :D

From there we cut a bit more.

We have this scene with Takeru and Shuu who seem to be meeting in the real world somewhere. I base this on the fact that the Digital World in this trailer once more uses this kinda aquarell look that they had been using for it in the Adventure/02 series.

I am honestly kinda psyched to see Shuu here (as well as later on Shin and Daisuke's sister Jun), given that I always was a big fan of the siblings and families in the series.

As some of you might know: Back in the day there was one of the Drama CDs that also featured Shuu, Jun, as well as Miyako's sister Chizuru and Momoe meeting their partners. Which obviously then was fully ignored by tri., Kizuna and The Beginning. Yes, I get that I am probably one of like three people who cared about those characters, but man, I really would have loved to see their partners. xD

They are also turning around in this scene to a figure that might be Lui? Though given again that Lui definitely was not thought off back when 02 aired, this obviously would not have been a part of that episode.

It obviously could also be another character, given we only see the legs.

We have then some shots of Koshiro in a labcoat with "Izumi Labs" written on it clearly doing some research that also involves Kabuterimon firing an attack into some technical thingie.

The only thing I really can say here is that him having his own lab makes me wonder about the epilogue, where it seemed he was working for some international organization. Though I absolutely see Koshiro having his own research lab.

Still: no idea how this is connected to anything else we see going on.

We also see Jyou on Ikkakumon putting on his Doctor's coat, which makes me think he gets ready to take care of some other kid or maybe some Digimon. Notably this seems to be happening in the real world as well - as once more there is not this "aquarell" effect either.

And also notable: There is a rope around Ikkakumon's horn, meaning they seem to be transporting something across the water.

Again, given the lack of context - and knowing the context only exists probably in some notes that Kakudo has taken many, many years ago (clearly being more organized about his notes than Konaka, mind you, but that is a story for another day)... Ah, it is frustrating, eh?

We also see Mimi and Sora with Togemon and Birdramon - both clearly in the Digital World given here we see the aquarelly dots in the background.

I have seen a lot of posts since this was dropped yesterday noting how both look a whole lot more like their Adventure and 02 designs than they did in either tri., Kizuna or The Beginning. Which makes a whole lot of sense though if you think that this was originally based on something that might have featured in 02.

Though it also makes a whole lot of sense that it did ultimately not feature in 02, given that 02 was struggling for time and budget at times, and asking the animators and designers to design some "20-somethings designs" for the characters additionally to the epilogue designs for like one episode worth of content or something would probably have send someone over the edge.

There is however one thing I do note.

Mind you, I have currently a post scheduled for the Tuesday after next where I am ranting about that accursed epilogue. And part of the rant is also me going into the girls being reduced to their feminity.

Now, one of my big beefs with Kakudo has always been his tendency to defend the decisions for certain... traditionalist aspects both in regards to the epilogue and generally some of the writing in Adventure/02. And he will obviously again and again maintain that the epilogue had always planned and was always planned and is always considered and Kizuna and The Beginning totally did not contradict the epilogue whatsoever, which makes me just roll my eyes - because obviously it does.

Like, I do not doubt that certain aspects of the epilogue were being thrown around all along and it was talked about during the making of Adventure, but not for a minute I am going to buy that every single aspect of it was planned all along.

And one thing here that is noticable and has been called out by quite a few folks: Sora is a lot more tomboyish again, while basically everything since tri. worked very hard to make her more a girls' girl, given that is where she eventually ends up in the epilogue. Which makes me do a bit of a doubletake here.

Then we have this shot of Mimi and Togemon facing a cloud of black somethings (I mean this is Adventure-verse where "Black XYZ" was a very usual plot device to make Digimon go evil, so there is definitely that) in the Digital World. Though something I find a whole lot more interesting is the apparently falling tree-thingie in the background.

This made me instantly go "Yggdrasil". Which is ironic, because Yggdrasil was only added to the Digimon lore in 2003.

This might just be a freakishly large tree in the weird Digital World. But the association is still there.

And then we have a scene that possibly features Arachnemon in a hospital where seemingly both Shin and Jun are working by the looks of it. It is not quite clear if the nurse is Jun, but it definitely looks like her, I gotta say. Especially given that the red hair color was not particularly common in Digimon.

And again: I love Jun. She is annoying, but in a cute way. She is just this typical teenage girl, but in a way that I actually found quite amusing.

Then we have this shot of Sora and Birdramon again in the Digital World fighting seemingly again against "Black Somethings" - though here it is a bit easier to see that those things seem to be some sort of hexagons. Does this mean anything? Nope, for now it doesn't, but yeah, seems to be hexagons.

Also we see some large thingies behind the clouds, that also might be really big trees? I don't know. Just wanted to note that.

Then there is this scene of Taichi, Agumon, Yamato and Gabumon jumping into the light. Which... Uhm...

Okay, frankly, I have no clue what is going on there. But something clearly is going on.

First association obviously is kinda the Internet scene from Bokura no Wargame, as it featured the shadows being quite similar, but that is just a very typical design for very harsh shadows in animation, so... yeah, that might be nothing. *shrug*

Certainly mysterious. Which is great for a standalone PV that is not a trailer for anything... lol

Then there is this shot of some folks standing around in the Digital World. Those folks clearly are international children. We do see some familiar faces among them, too. Most notably Yuehon, Mina, a boy that might be Yuri, and a guy who at least has the same scarf as Steve. Not sure about the others. (Kinda sad we do not see Chicos or Catherine.)

Those Chosen stand in front of a hill or something on which we see then Daisuke and Ken in their adult designs. (No screenshots for them due to tumblr limiting the amount of pictures I can post.)

It is noticable that while V-mon and Wormmon are with Daisuke and Ken, the international Chosen... uhm... Young Adults are without their partners it seems.

Then we get this shot of Hikari and Miyako flying on Nefermon and Horusmon in the Digital World, which clearly is a callback to the 02 Opening - of which we have a couple of call backs happening in the next few seconds. lol

The two of them are dragging also some sort of line or something along, which we see more off in the next shot.

They seem to be opening up some sort of portal - though the weird thing about this shot most certainly is that there is like several Horusmon. Sure, like, there can be, but... This does seem weird, right?

I mean, we have seen the Digimon multiplying in the finale of 02 of course - and who knows what kind of portal they are opening... But yeah.

Given that we see a similar effect to this portal with Koshiro and Kabuterimon in the lab sequence before, I am somehow assuming this is related to Koshiro's research, but... Again, we do not have a whole lot of context for any of this.

And then we get the really weird stuff. We see Daisuke rising along in a clear callback to the opening of 02 again on Lighdramon. However, it is not just Lighdramon, but also Boarmon (Armadimon's evolution with the Digimebtal of Courage), Elephamon (Armadimon's evolution with the Digimebtal of Miracles out of all things), Goatmon (Tailmon and the Digimebtal of Hope), Lynxmon (Tailmon and the Digimebtal of Courage), and Bullmon (Wormmon and the Digimebtal of Hope).

Most notably: While in the coming two shots we see more Armor Digimon, these have only the common through line of "they are all named [animal]mon" lol This is a really weird collection.

Then we have Ken and Puchiemon (who was tradionally Wormmon and the Digimetal of Kindness) with some more Armor Digimon: Pipismon (Patamon and the Digimental of Love), Searchmon (Wormmon and the Digimetal of Knowledge), Harpiemon (Hawkmon and the Digimental of Light), Thunderbirmon (a really weird one because it was not part of the original Armor Digimon but released only when Frontier came out, so it is either Gottsumon or Impmon and the Digimental of Friendship), Flybeemon (Hawkmon and the Digimental of Knowledge), Pteranomon (Armadimon and the Digimental of Love) and Honeybeemon (V-mon and the Digimental of Knowledge).

(If you wanna hear something sad: I knew most of these without looking them up. Thank you brain, for holding onto this information for 25 years. I guarantee you, it was more important than French.)

And lastly we see Iori and Submarimon surrounded by even more Armor Digimon: Orcamon (Hawkmon and the Digimental of Reliability), Manbomon (Patamon and the Digimental of Light), Depthmon (V-mon and the Digimental of Reliability), Mantaraymon (Patamon and the Digimental of Reliability), Seahomon (Armadimon and the Digimental of Light), Tylomon (Tailmon and the Digimental of Reliability), and finally Archelomon (Wormmon and the Digimental of Reliability).

Why are there so many of the Armor Digimon?

I have no clue in hell. Especially as sometimes Armor evolutions of the same Digimon can be seen in these shots. Sure, most of these Armor Digimon can also be another Digimon either as an adult evolution, or an another one using the same Digimental... But it is still hella weird.

But then again, we never saw the Digimentals being used in anything that took place post the end of 02, so... Yeah, there is that, I guess.

We also have these shots of Hikari closing this door on Meiko before being attacked by a dark cloud that then gets dispearsed by Tailmon. Note that this clearly takes place in the Digital World once more, given that we see the splotches of aquarel in here.

Again: Whenever this was originally conceived Meiko clearly was not part of it. But yeah, whatever. xD

And we also have this shot of Takeru and Patamon going into what certainly looks like the Dark Ocean - another thing that we have not heard from since it was a concept fully underexplored by 02. Which certainly is a choice here.

Lastly we have a shot of Imperialdramon Dragon Mode flying over a dark forest towards a castle, that clearly is a callback to the Imperialdramon evolution sequence, where we see exactly the same thing happen. The castle looks a bit different, sure, but to be fair, the evolution sequence is a 3D thing that has aged horribly on the basis of being 3D created in the year of our lord 2000.

From this we basically zoom out into this shot of the goggles, where we see the goggles of Taichi/Daisuke, Takato, Takuya, Taiki and Taiki/Tagiru (in Hunters). Which probably does not really mean much other than being some symbolism that this is also something that lay beyond the ending of 02, I guess.

All in all, as I said: This is a standalone short film so to speak, not a trailer. However, let's face it, there was at least some thought to hope that folks would be begging to get the full story now in the hope to milk the DIgimon Adventure cow further dry.

And I mean, like many people I am kinda sick of everything being about Digimon Adventure and stuff - though I will also say, that I am actually kinda relieved we did not get a whole lot of post-canon DIgimon Tamers stuff. And be it just because I have my own very established headcanon for that.

Still, even being sick of Adventure getting more and more stuff... I kinda would watch a movie or OVA of this, I gotta say. Preferably an OVA, I think.

Especially as this has a lot of the stuff that I wanted to see in tri., Kizuna and The Beginning and never did: More of the international kids, Shuu, Shin and Jun (possibly also Momoe and Chizuru), and some more evolutions than just again and again Omegamon and Imperialdramon.

So yeah, if they should decide to turn this into something real... I would probably not hate it.

i loved it!!!! definitely gotta sleep on it for a bit and read it again to give a more nuanced opinion because my first thought after finishing a book that made emotional (and sotr most definitely did that) is always "omg that was the best book ever!!!" only for me to figure out that it actually wasn't that perfect later on xD gave it a 5 star raiting for now but i'm sure the lowest it could possibly drop is a 4.5

catching fire remains on top for me, forever and always, but sotr definitely beat mockingjay & tbosas in my ranking. if i'd rank it above or below the first book... ehhh time will tell.

as someone who LOVES beetee (he's been in my top 3 fav hunger games characters since i was 11 okay) and who's always been weirdly obsessed with plutarch (probably top 3 as well???) this book was HEAVEN, i loved every bit involving the two of them. and i got an obsession with maysilee donner on top of it all, great deal if you ask me!!

i saw some people call all the cameos & references fanservice (i don't agree with that at all), but even if it was all just pure fanservice, i fucking ate that shit up. i'm a fan and i wanne be serviced, so fuck yeah, drop some random lyrics from the songs of tbosas in the middle of a conversation!!!! yes please, let snow talk about lucy gray!!! give every single character ever their little moment, YASS!!!! it's a connecting installment set in a small part of the world where everyone and everything is connected, it makes SENSE. and it makes me happy. win/win situation.

idk, the only slightly negative things i can think about rn is that it was just a tad too short for my liking, especially since tbosas was SO long in comparison, and that all the poetry bits got extremely annoying in the end. gonna be so honest, after the 5th time that raven poem showed up i just stopped reading it. whoops. sue me.

nah, but apart from that i really loved it. there are very few books that made me cry this much. when someone (i forgot who i'm sorry) started singing the old therebefore in the end i fucking LOST it, that's my favorite tbosas song. and the epilogue was fucking brutal, suzanne collins when i get you >:(

Today is the pop up event for fans to visit and buy merchandise such as clothing items, albums, cute pc holders, and other little trinkets. Estrella even came early before opening to sign posters and even the huge picture of herself on the wall so fans could take their cute photos. Estrella took time taking photos in the different photo ops so she can post later. “I’m glad my vision came to life.” Estrella was planning this event for months since this pop up event will not just be in Korea. She would make 3D models on her iPad making sure everything was perfect. “Oh my god, Estrella you have to see how many people are lined up.” Daya grabs Estrella by her hand and pulls her towards the entrance. Starrys started cheering and pulling out their phones to record Estrella, who immediately started giving fanservice; waving, heart poses, and blowing kisses at all the starrys by the entrance.

“Estrella, can I talk to you for a minute?” Megan pulled Estrella’s attention away from her fans. “Yeah.” Estrella quickly waves ‘bye’ before following Megan. “So I just received a bunch of calls from different entertainments here asking if you will allow their idols to come visit because they are a big fan of yours. I just didn’t want to give a quick answer before I had a talk with you.” Megan always included Estrella in decision making. “Yes, but my starrys will not wait outside longer than the opening time just because an idol is in here. My starrys have been waiting since the middle of night and I will not let them wait any longer.”

Estrella obviously really cares for her fans and always wants what is best for them, plus seeing how dedicated they are to coming to her events and waiting for hours on end just to see a glimpse of her, or just to make sure they buy the merch before it sells out. That’s why when celebrities come to Estrella’s events she doesn’t treat them better nor give them special treatment. They will receive the same like all her starrys get. Because she sees how other celebrities act with their fans when their celebrity friends come or how they make them wait even longer because their “friends” are in there looking around taking their time buying everything.

“For sure, I’ll call them back and tell them.” Megan goes back to business leaving Estrella to finally open her pop up. Before Estrella could open the doors the staff made sure to tell the fans not to act too crazy around Estrella when they get inside since she’ll be there helping them and checking out their items. Once the first set of starrys came they were already freaking out in the entrance way because there stood Estrella helping the staff pass out exclusive photocards.

After a couple of hours helping starrys find the right size, finding out if they have more in stock of the photocard holder, checking out starrys at the register, and helping taking the photos for starrys in the photo ops. Many videos went viral joking that Estrella is those managers doing everything and running that pop up like the military.

“Lunch time boss.” Sana giggles, guiding Estrella away from the register. “We got pizza in the back and a special someone came.” Estrella furrowed her eyebrows trying to think who it would be. Since lots of idols came to the pop up and were just as excited as starrys were seeing Estrella in person.

“Our star is here after working so hard.” The staff laughed seeing Estrella's tired face. “We ordered pizza,” Sana plated two slices of pizza for Estrella. Luckily the pop up staff created a little green room for Estrella’s team to chill in while Estrella worked the floor. There was a knock at the door causing Estrella to whip right around seeing the one and only, Choi Yeonjun. He has a pink flower bouquet with him making Estrella grab and pillow hiding her flustered face. Her staff never saw Estrella so shy since she’s always so confident and is never the one to break. The whole room pointed at the shy Estrella hiding from Yeonjun’s eyes. “Why, why?” He comes closer to Estrella, confused about her flustered state. “Why the flowers?” Estrella asked while placing the pillow from her face on to her lap. “I wanted to give you a little congratulation on your successful promotional week.” Yeonjun handed over the bouquet to Estrella. “Oh my god, thank you.” She pulls him into a hug. Yeonjun was a bit taken back at the friendly gesture, but nonetheless wrapped his arms around her, hugging Estrella back.

After the hug Yeonjun realized that she had yet started eating, so not wanting her to go back out there with an empty stomach he started encouraging her to eat. “You're welcome. Start eating, you need energy to go back.” Yeonjun rubs her back, while taking back the bouquet, gently placing the flowers on the table letting Estrella to eat. If the staff didn’t know any better they would’ve thought Yeonjun was her boyfriend with how he’s treating her.

“Should we leave the two?” Daya whispered to Sana, who was watching the scene in front of them. “Yeah.” Sana nods her head grabbing Daya’s hand. “Hey, we should let Estrella rest alone. Let’s help at the front.” Sana gets all the staff members out. Before Daya and her head out last, Sana sent a quick wink towards Estrella who wanted to roll her eyes, but held it in.

Now that Estrella and Yeonjun were by themselves she decided to make the first move. “So…what’s the real reason why you’re here? Did you miss me that much, mm?” Estrella raised her eyebrow at him, while wiping her hands with a baby wipe to get the pizza grease off her fingers. “Maybe~” Yeonjun smiles, while playing with Estrella’s jog string that was hanging from her fluffy skirt. “How cute.” Estrella chuckles. “But I also wanted to come and support you. I am a fan too, you know.” Yeonjun leans back into the couch they’re sitting on. “You must be living every fan's dream right?” Estrella gives Yeonjun her signature sweet smile many fall for. “Not yet.” Yeonjun’s dream is to be able to bag Estrella and make her his.

The two make intense eye contact with each other feeling the tension in the room. It is so thick you cut it with a knife. Estrella moves closer while placing her hand on Yeonjun’s cheek caressing it. Yeonjun was instantly wrapped around her finger as he leaned closer into her touch. Yeonjun was also closing the gap between them.

*knock knock*

“Estrella 5 minutes!” Megan’s voice was heard through the other side. The two quickly went back to their places. Estrella looked at Yeonjun while giggling, causing him to laugh too. “Are you free tomorrow night?” Estrella asks, while crossing her right leg over her left. “Why not tonight?” Totally whipped. “I have plans tonight jjunie.” He could hear his heart beating louder with hearing his nickname coming from her lips. “Before I head out,” Estrella grabs a piece of paper and a marker from her Vivienne Westwood shoulder purse. “Here so you don’t miss me too much.” Estrella says, as she writes down her number with an xo at the end. “Bye~” she pets his head before walking out of her green room.

Yeonjun sat there still processing what’s written on the paper. “The woman you are Estrella Blue.” He sighs, dreamily.

this has been on my mind for a while but still didn't say it because I didn't want people to come after me and cancel me. just know I like ayato, but I don't like the overrated hype on him by people. I'm not hating on Ayato stans, because I was one myself but this overrated hype got me out of it after discovering more knowledge on other characters.

the way some people hype the Ayato "overrate" is too much. like I get it Rejet gave a lot of signs of painting Ayato as the main lead, but it was prolly to have some easier ideas on merch and fanservice contents (like youngblood). yes there might me Rejet's favoritism too here, especially in anime, like all the boys barely have any interaction with Yui except when it came to suck her blood, but that wasn't the case with Ayato. I feel like if Rejet had shown favoritism towards Subaru or actually tried to highlight Shu or Reiji or even Laito's trauma like they did with Ayato, then the main love interest would have pointed towards them.

people saying that Ayato "truly" deserves to be the ML because he had it "worse" are we starting to compare everyones' trauma now??? I'm sorry but trauma can never be compared because everyone has their own experience, sufferings and hardships going through it.

alright if you wanna compare "worse" then, what Ayato had worse? Cordelia abusing him to study 24/7 to become number one and not letting him play + venting her anger out on him? then what about Shu??? as the first born I'm pretty sure it was way worse for him especially how strict and cold Beatrix was. and the only solace, his friend edgar aka Yuma, was also snatched by him. If you guys would have read Shu's LE vampire end starting monologue, then you guys would have known how Shu was talking about his trauma and how he dealt with it using music, pushing people away, etc. + plus it's side effect on him.

"Ayato forgave Cordelia in DF in his route even after what she did to him" okay? so did Yuma. He forgave Reiji for what happened in the past. Laito also forgave Cordelia in his DF route after discovering Karlheinz's journal. Carla was ready to help vampires, the species he hates the most, just on Yui's saying.

Yes Ayato had development, but I feel like Reiji, Ruki, Kou, Shu and Laito had the best one and more better development than him. Like through each and every game you can see them coming over trauma through Yui's help and becoming a better person. While in Ayato's case I just felt like they dumped the "main hero" plot on him by reviving Cordelia. yeah DF was the only route I saw his development while in other games, I didn't see much unlike what I witnessed with other characters.

Subaru was the green flag from the start and if Rejet would have given him the screen time instead of Ayato, he would have become the Main Interest.
