I Hear The Sunspot, Theory of Happiness and Limit vol. 1-3 by Yuki Fumino

This series is about a young man named Kouhei who lives with a hearing disability but is not completely deaf. One day he meets a loud and cheerful man named Taichi. The two form an unlikely friendship that deepens over time.  This has been such a heartwarming story which not only teaches its audience about those who have hearing disabilities, but also how the people closest to them can support them in a respectful, dignified manner. 

After the Rain vol. 4-5 by Jun Mayyzuki

These are the last two volumes of this series. It’s NOT an age gap romance. It could have easily fallen into that but it didn’t. Instead, it highlights that it's never too late to start again. Finding that old passion, trying to work yourself back up to where you were after a long break, that’s the message this manga leaves its readers with.

Given vol. 9 by Natsuki Kizu

This is the last volume in this series. I have to admit the story did meander a bit at times, but overall I enjoyed it. The series started off a lot stronger than it ended. 

Tokyo Aliens vol. 7 by NAOE

Aliens, time travel, comedy, oh my! This series is so much fun and beautiful to look at with full page art spreads. 

Mobsters In Love vol. 2 by Chiyoko Origami

I couldn’t possibly love this short series more. The characters are adorable and full of laughs, and I adore how the mangaka draws facial expressions. Oh did I also mention it’s age-gap BL?

Kagurabachi vol. 1 by Takeru Hokazono

When I first saw the character design for Chihiro, I knew I was going to like this character. And while this series was considered a “meme” online, it has a good story with awesome fight scenes.

Bergamot and Sunny Day by Lyee Kitahala

This one-shot was sweet, pun intended. A man who’s unlucky in love gets to experience being doted on. There’s miscommunication between the two main characters.This story showcases how sometimes you just have to find the right person to treat you with the respect and dignity you deserve!  

Acid Town vol. 2-6 by Kyugo

This series is dark so readers beware as the story deals with revenge, trauma, and sexual assault. None of this is glorified. Acid Town is a very character driven story that highlights  morally grey characters as they try to survive within this dark world.

Wind Breaker vol. 1-3 by Satoru Nii

Found family with a pack of delinquents. I can already tell this series is going to be one of my favorites. With a colorful cast of characters and a story of finding a place to belong, I can’t wait to read more!

Wolf Pack by Billy Balibally

Kuma has such high quality publishing. The feel of this manga is so nice with the slip-like cover. Honestly I wish more companies published this way. This story is a fun little fluffy one-shot with some gorgeous art. 

After School Etude vol. 1 by Hirune Cyan

So many manga covers sell me on their series alone and this one is no different. Two happy looking characters staring lovingly into each other's eyes. Yes I will be reading. While this series does dip into some common BL tropes, it still tells a story of two people sharing their passion for dance and how much more enjoyable something can be when you are sharing this experience rather than doing it alone. 

Cherry Magic Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! vol. 11-12 by Yuu Toyota

Twelve volumes in and I’m still loving this heartwarming slice of life series. HOWEVER I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY FAVORITE SUPPORTING CHARACTERS TSUGE AND MINATO. Those two have been a highlight for me, and I am very worried after the cliffhanger at the end of volume 12. I need volume 13 now! 

The Guy She Was Interest In Wasn’t A Guy At All vol. 1 by Sumiko Arai

I had been waiting for this series to be published in English. The title tells you everything you need to know, and I love this trope. The gorgeous artwork inside is accented with the color green, creating a wonderful reading experience. 

Snowball Earth vol. 1-2 by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu

If you liked Astra Lost in Space like I do, you will love this series. After a final galactic battle in space, an awkward hero who just wants to make one friend returns to Earth to find it covered in snow. I’m really enjoying this sci-fi series so far!

Solo Leveling vol. 9 by Chu-Gong, So-Ryeong Gi and Hyeon-Gun

A long awaited showdown finally took place in this volume providing some new information. The fight scenes are always the highlight of this series. However some of the story being built up is starting to feel a bit convoluted. 

How My Daddies Became Mates vol. 1 by Mita Mita

Despite a cringy title this omegaverse story is actually good. Not only is their character development but none of the problematic tropes rife in this genre. And one of the boldest love declarations I’ve ever seen in manga.

Would you really give Yuki a red bull seat over Liam? Aren't you a Liam fan?

Yes I really would. And I'm a huge fan of them both, but yes, I really like Liam (to answer you specifically).

I can like a driver and still think someone else is better qualified and more deserving of a seat than they are. Loving/liking/supporting a driver is just that. It doesn't mean you can't see their flaws, or be critical of them, or come to the logical conclusion that someone else may be a better fit for something. It doesn't make you a bad fan to admit your guy may not be the best guy or has some issues, or whatever it may be.

Anyway. That aside.

I think it's wild how people still need to come to Yuki's defense like this and remind the world of his accomplishments. I think it's wild that even after he's taken his criticisms and he's changed and he's grown, people are still tearing him down for shit he doesn't do anymore (and let's call it like it is, was he really a problem just because his radios were angry? I can name a few drivers who do the same thing and yet hear no kick back on it). You know where I'm going with this. You know what it is. Racism.

Yuki has grown exponentially as a person and as a driver in the years he's been driving in F1, and let's not forget that he was amazing even when he debuted. He's just gotten EVEN better. He's been working his ass off and fighting for his shot and he's good, he's earned it, and yet red bull won't say his name.

Liam is an incredible driver and everyone who's butthurt about his middle finger spicy incidents, I don't want to hear it. The only argument that can be made from his spicy incidents that makes any logical sense is that he can get away with it, where Yuki would never be able to. That's the only argument I'll accept because it's true and it stems back to racism.

That aside, back on point, Liam is an incredible driver and he's definitely working his way up but he's not there yet. He's just not. I love him and he's doing wonderfully, but he's not there yet. Putting Liam in a RB before Yuki would be insane at best.

And of course, this us all assuming Checo ends up going somewhere. And I, for one, am not convinced they're chopping him or he's leaving just yet.

Tldr: Yuki is the better driver with more experience (that does NOT mean Liam is a bad or inexperienced driver, please take my words at face value), and personally I think he has earned the seat over Liam for now.

I wouldnt be surprised if the RB of our future, once Checo and inevitably Max (of his own accord) leave, will be Liam and Yuki. But Yuki needs to be there first. In my opinion.

The Details of Genderbend Naoya Au:

Just a collection of my thought process and ramblings about this collection of drawings to scratch the itch in my brain.

General ramblings:

This is not a fleshed out au. There isn't much of a storyline and I don't exactly know if I will ever make one.

The au doesn't follow the jjk canon apart from some general things like Toji leaving Megumi and Tsumiki etc.

The ‘story’ follows Naoya Zenin after an accident that should have killed him instead leaves him unscathed. That is, until he wakes up the next day with a girl's body, a kogane companion, and the ability to see strange creatures (cursed spirits) and people who should have been long dead.

Bro is basically now part of a culling game-esque event involving people who were saved from death like him, those who died long ago and were resurrected, and creatures that should have never entered the living realm. Some people such as him with bad karma for their actions, are given certain handicaps and/or punishments when they're brought back from death. Hence girl-Naoya.

But, by destroying the souls of beings with even more bad karma than you, you can gain points that will give you access to abilities (cursed techniques) or lessen your own punishment or handicap.

The Kogane function the same here as they do in canon.

Basically, this is me drawing fem Naoya with a bunch of extra steps 💀

Drawing one:

A lot of the ‘story’ of this au just happened randomly as I was doodling, Kenjaku and Takaba running Naoya over being part of that.

I wanted to draw Naoya reacting to him becoming a girl for the shits and giggle, yk, the sillies

And before I knew it I had Naoya getting run over by a truck 💀

The reason Takaba is the driver is because of that one scene in Kenjaku vs Takaba, Kenjaku is in the passenger's seat just because.

There is no reason as to what they're singing besides me wanting them to have been distracted by something goofy 

You might have noticed Naoya is holding something. Idk what it is though 

Its like….a wand…a club…? It's based off his first form as a cursed spirit, the one where he looks like a worm

Yes, his shirt does indeed say “why women deserve less”. It's based on that one fanart of him reading a book with the same title. 

Drawing two:

The first thing I thought of when I imagined Naoya going on a ‘quest’ to become a man again was that ant carrying a bindle.

(It gives pathetic energy, which i enjoy giving my Naoya drawings)

This is actually my first time drawing Hana, I actually like drawing her

I'm so sorry to people who like Nobara and Maki, I can't draw them that well 😭😭😭

I'm thinking Hana/Angel are trying to fix whatever is going on with the souls of the deceased/players, and are thus gathering allies (though they also want to defeat a certain king of curses even in this au as well 👀)

Naoya ends up joining her, Maki, and Nobara as allies (no one is happy about this)

They will put him in his place, especially Maki.

(I wonder what would happen if he met Yuki…)

Naoya and Hana is a combination I didn't think I'd ever draw interacting tbh 💀

But for some reason that's what ended up happening

Other thoughts:

It's so cute how the kogane have different designs sometimes based on who they belong to. It reminds me of the crows in kny.

I wonder if they're meant to represent something about each player???

For example, the one we see with Naoya when we're first introduced to his curse form has a skull like face, which we later see on Naoya's second curse form.

His looks so crusty and I love it

Honestly, I was thinking Naoya upon turning into a girl would try everything he could to make himself look more traditionally masculine

Well I think its bizarre I'm the first winner that doesn't have a talent that revolves around not dying. I know my mother is a war photographer and I take her lessons to heart, but compared to the previous winners, it's not the same.

I won't deny its rough because I do have the highest kill count in this Hunger Game. Tomoe, Jiro, Kotoko, Yuki, Mayumi, Maku, Nekomaru and Mikan I am sorry for killing you guys.

How did you even kill Maku and Nekomaru?

They ended up fighting each other so much they got exhausted and then I took advantage of their weakened state.

Its dishonest I know but hey its what got me the victory I guess.

How come you, Mikan, Kikue and Setsuka went for so long without killing each other?

We had a pact to not kill each other and it held up for a while, but Setsuka and Kikue got killed by the elements and Mikan didn't know where they were so she got antsy and was planning to kill me. I didn't want to take the chance so I got the drop on her and killed her.

Domestic/Curtain Fic Like Fireworks in the Night Sky by PrincelyHairdos (86k, ongoing, Yuki/Kakeru) Uaaaaghhhhhhhhh OTL I really can’t recommend this fic enough if you want to fuck yourself up!!!!!! Yes, there’s the pining, and the achingly-sweet relationship between the main two boys, but they’re both in relationships at the start of the fic, and the story explores every little beat of the pain and awkwardness and tension of that premise!! None of the characters involved are bad people, and the story is equally sympathetic to all four of them, but Yuki is very much just forcing himself in his relationship with Machi (comphet up the wazoo), and although Kakeru and Komaki sincerely love each other, he and Yuki so obviously have this long-standing unintentional and unaware emotional affair going on that just gets more and more in between them! I chose this theme because so much of the Yuki/Kakeru relationship revolves around how comfortable around one another as uni students living in the same dorms; they’re not actual roommates, but they may as well be with easily they share their space, and it’s that pre-established and on-going easy domesticity that provides all the delicious, awful tension in their actual official relationships!

Rarepair Last Hope by Yarwrit (1.4k, Aegon/Larys) Of course for this theme I had to use a ship that I never possibly would’ve considered prior to that final episode of the show :’D But this fic was exactly what I wanted: Aegon’s despair and Lary’s quiet support; Aegon’s rationally skeptical of his sincerity, but so desperately needs some sort of a real friend, and the commonality between them as two disabled men rings true. Larys might well still just be manipulating him (I mean, that’s certainly at least part of what’s going on), but his attraction, at least, is real, and meaningful <3

Space AU it’s only a canvas sky by Mayleavestars (9.2k, Dirk/Jake) I really struggled with this theme for a while because I’m not much of an AU reader and all the space AUs I could find just felt like normal fics with a hand-waved set dressing. This fic was my saviour: the vaguely Star Trek universe setting relates perfectly to the long-distance communication Dirk and Jake had in canon, allowing for a dynamic that perfectly supports their canon personalities and relationship while giving enough of a twist to the formula to justify the AU. Oh, the pining; the rituals!

Angst love story (but it's platonic) by sharksarewaterdogs (2.8k, Jughead + Archie gen) Another soulmate mark fic, and another fun twist! Jughead's angst is super believable, not just worrying about himself but how Archie would feel to know that his soulmate is an aro/ace guy. But Archie is so sweet, and once the shock wears off, their friendship really does shine through! I always love to see a-spec fics with at least a lil non-fluffiness, and this was nice and cathartic <3

Author’s Oldest Fic The Word Withheld by j_s_cavalcante (12k, Kirk/Spock) Of course for this theme I had to go with one of the chronologically oldest ships I’ve been into, and what a beautiful fic I chose for that!! I have memories of AOS fic about Spock Prime encouraging his younger self tom seize the day and make the most of the time he has with Kirk, but applying that plot to TOS gives it all the more resonance given the way things turn out in the canon timeline. The quiet intimacy between Kirk and Spock is on full display here, and perfectly reminded me why I once read so many fics about these two <3

Bittersweet/Unhappy Ending lost innocence. By ProjectFreelancer (1.4k, Aegon/Helaena) :’( These two deserved so much better… Among all the longfic in this fandom I was soooo happy to see this shorter and more melancholy missing-scenes type fic, elaborating on this relationship we haven’t gotten to see nearly enough of, with a particular focus on the actually pretty damn traumatic circumstances of their marriage!! It ends on a positive note for the whole family… but we already know how this story ends. :(

Of the spaces left, I have a definite fic in mind for 'Enemies to Friends / Lovers' (it's just a matter of finishing it first; could've done that before making this post but I've delayed long enough already :') ), and a potential something for Take Your Fandom To Work and Secret Relationship. I didn't expect that last one to be difficult given how much I love the trope, but maybe I just need to try some other pairings... And I've always figured it wouldn't be too hard to find something for Whump once I get in the mood, heh.

So with all that, it'll just be a matter of which of the random non-recced fics I've read recently I should use for the Free Space!! n.n

(Also ahhhhh I really did expect to ask for another card before this thing ended... but that'd be kinda pointless now, huh :'D)

I didn't realize Tsunoda was such a divisive person for f1 fans 😭😭

I think he's a bit underrated in the sense that he has solid driving skills and gets overlooked by his teammates that are always brought in to give that leadership role rb doesn't believe he has, but he's overrated because his fanbase is extremely aggressive over him and they sometimes treat him as "aww he's so cute" yk?

but i don't see him driving for rb any time soon, i do think he still needs to grow a bit more and channel his attitude into his driving more (i do think people overreact on his attitude tho, just look at the other 19 drivers they're all adrenaline fueled freaks 💀)

His attitude reminds me a bit of young seb, they were both a bit reckless and careless with their words and you could see the bit of arrogance shining through but i think he's improved a lot

I am, ngl, a bit of a Yuki “hater”. Not for any other reason than I want Toro Rosso to be a proper junior team and he’s taking up one of the few seats that has traditionally been given to rookies. I think any time you have someone who’s there in perpetuity, same as Lance Stroll, the scrutiny becomes more intense. It’s unfair but it’s also natural. More people complain that Yuki doesn’t deserve his seat than complain about Zhou, for example, when imo they’re kind of on the same level driver wise - solid on a good day, not setting the timing sheets alight.

I don’t think he’s a possibility for RB. They put in the work with him for a while, by moving him to Faenza and getting him a mental coach, but I think they’ve made their mind up by now that he’s not what they’re looking for and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve “quiet quit” on developing him. Regardless, I don’t think he has the skills to get to RB. He could do well hanging out in the lower midfield but there’s enough drivers already doing that, so I don’t see what he would uniquely bring to a team. For that reason I don’t really think he’s underrated.

I think people overreact to all the drivers’ “tempers” in the car. So they swear, big deal. Saying “stop fucking talking to me” is not the same as saying “you are a piece of shit”, the radios are not really directed at the engineers personally, and sometimes that kind of inflection is necessary to get the gravity of the stress across. Drive at 300kph and have someone talking to you or a feeling of instability and see how politely you manage to talk to someone. Yuki may swear a bit more than average but that’s just his personality on adrenaline, Lando’s personality on adrenaline is a whiny bitch. All drivers say they listen back to their radios and cringe. Judging people when you are hearing them at their most vulnerable is…a bit of a take, imo.

I never really had a poor opinion of Yuki until him doing that nonsense in Bahrain. And it was indeed nonsense. For you to careen your €15m piece of equipment, that 100s of people spent thousands of hours building for you, into your teammates €15m piece of equipment that 100s of people spent thousands of hours building for him, because you’re annoyed about a decision made by someone who’s not in the car, for no real gain or loss (no points available), is really poor behaviour. Yes, adrenaline, but if your adrenaline makes you dangerous then you’re in the wrong profession, buddy.

I never found Yuki arrogant at all, I think he’s always come across really matter of fact, quite honest, I love always thought he’s conducted himself really well in interviews etc., but that Bahrain stunt was embarrassing for him. And as for people saying he’s in contention for the RB seat…let him try doing that to Max in an RB20, he would be gone quicker than Gasly.

I agree with you though, I really didn’t think he was divisive until I saw the real crazy come out after the Bahrain incident. I saw a bit of it when deVries was around but Nyck was rude af about Yuki so I understood it. But I didn’t know people had strong opinions on him either way until recently.

Quick and Weekly (or rather race week specific) kind of analysis, basically just my takes on what went on during the race.

WE NEED TO GET THE YOUNGER ROOKIES SEATS. Ollie was an absolute beast yesterday, finish p7, managing the tyres, MANAGING A 7 TIME WORLD CHAMPION BEHIND HIM, holding off the rest of the pack, close to overtaking george, just Nico with his experience was able to hold him off a bit longer. Scoring more points in F1 than F2. Scoring more points than almost half of the grid. All with just one free practice session. This kid has a future (the only driver I could actually call kid😂)

Ferrari look fast. Finally being able go see Charles’ pace yesterday, in addition to not being fucked over by strategy or any shit, they’ve done a pretty good iob on that car. I mean, a rookie scored on his debut, and so far, a Ferrari’s always been on the podium. Of course this is just the second race, but still.

Haas aren’t that shit this year. The car looks good. Kevin was an absolute MENACE yesterday. Holding off Yuki, Esteban, Zhou, Valtteri, Alex, Logan, Daniel ALL WHILE HE KNOWS HE HAS A 20 SECOND PENALTY. Also Nico’s pace was pretty good, holding off Zhou and Alex, and kind of with ease. Apparently having a TP other than Guenther is proving to something quite positive.

RB are in shambles. Like, Yuki was pretty good, but wasn’t able to convert his p9 quali to points, and Daniel is just not doing well, that even with that 20 second penalty to Kevin, he’s still dead last. (Maybe it wasn’t McLaren, it was the choice of leaving red bull back in 2019) (I have a whole thing in my head about Daniel, and I still want to make sure if the facts and data before sharing it). But it might have been a miss that RB didn’t get Liam in this season, but we never know. I mean, Helmut Marko did say that there could be mid season surprises. And so far, non of the RB drivers seem or look to be even in contention for that Red Bull seat, in all honesty, it appears so far that Checo is more likely to keep his seat for 25!

I am not 100% convinced with either McLaren or Mercedes. Like yes both are consistently scoring points, and gaining, but I can’t really find that speed. Like they are okay, better than last year, but not Ferrari level improvement. Also, the strategy that both teams put Lando and Lewis on (especially Lando) cost him a better position, more points, maybe even a podium let’s be real.

Williams are okay. Ngl, I love James Vowels, his technicalities and as he said in DTS his geek-inees (hoping to be like him honestly one day). I feel like, Saudi and Bahrain aren’t really their tracks, because they did well, both Logan and Alex gaining positions. They are a team I’m waiting and hoping to see thrive, because Alex and Logan both deserve it.

Stake were okay, especially with that Zhou crash in FP3, like he couldn’t even qualify, but strategy kind of wasn’t ideal, and in all honesty, they’re just kay, not too fast, but not too slow.

And finally, our leaders. Despite everything, they do be cooking (Adrian and Max, you’ve both done it). That speed, the tyre deg, just everything about that car is phenomenal. And Max deserves it, after everything he’s gone through in his life, and he deserves to re-write the history books, which he already is, with re-reaching seb’s record not even 6 months after breaking it. This man who everyone is bored of his dominance are all going to be crying and missing him after he retires (I DON’T WANT TO THINK OF THIS DAY, BECAUSE I’LL BE THE FIRST ONE IN TEARS) but Max Emilian Verstappen is something that hasn’t come and probably won’t come again in Formula 1 and Motorsport history.

So yeah, that’s kind if my inital takes in the race, kind if a mini summary as well, and may we always listen to the Dutch National Anthem because I’ve been emotional this week with Max and everything happening around him.

This is such a wonderful analysis that really doesn't need anything added to it because you've got this spot-on, so I will try to keep my own thoughts relatively brief.

Ollie did incredible and I am so excited to see him in F1 permanently. Him and Liam? The future is bright.

I am cautiously optimistic about Ferrari and I really hope that, for once, they won't fuck themselves over which is in no way, shape or form a guarantee.

K-Mag did so fucking well, and it brings me so much joy seeing my fellow Scandinavian putting on such a performance. And Nico had a decent race, which also makes me happy. It's obviously far too early to be sure, but their new team principal seems to have been a good choice.

VCARB are just... Well, I'm not even going to utter my thoughts. All I will say is that there is no way in hell Daniel will be a good replacement for Checo. Claiming Daniel is better than him is just laughable.

McLaren and Mercedes are giving Ferrari 2023 vibes with their strategy calls yesterday, and it will be interesting to see how they develop over the season.

I truly hope Williams will improve over the course of the season, because I want to see Alex and Logan do well so fucking badly.

As for Stake: they were unlucky, and I'm just glad Zhou made it out of that crash unscathed. It's a shame he missed out on being able to qualify because holy hell did that team do their fucking best trying to get his car ready. I want to see him, and Bottas, do well.

As for Red Bull, they are as impressive as I hoped they were going to be so far this season, and as a Max girl it makes me laugh seeing Max haters bitch about his dominance making the sport boring. I, for one, am having the time of my fucking life. I won't even think about him retiring at this point, and will just keep enjoying every race for as long as I can. And seeing Checo starting off the season in such a strong manner fills me with joy. I am by no means Checo's biggest fan, but the shit he went through last season at the hands of disgusting Helmut Marko and the F1 community at large has me wanting him to suceed. Put some respect to his name because God knows he's fucking earned it.

actually, since we've brought up the espn sob stories and i'm still seeing "lando is the shittiest teammate on the grid" takes in the year of 2023, when lando has been nothing but kind and supportive of the rookie who is already challenging him more than daniel ever has, let's talk about what the daniel teammate experience is really like.

-lando is labeled a shit teammate because he says he doesn't feel sympathy for daniel's situation. in the same interview, he explains how he would also face criticism if he underperformed to that extent. on one of the occasions with the "no sympathy" comment, he even mentioned how if he had performed that poorly relative to ricciardo during their first year as teammates, he probably wouldn't even still be in f1. basically, he explained how f1 works: you perform, or you're out (unless daddy horner saves you). yet, here he is, lando norris, the shittiest teammate on the grid.

-then we get to ricciardo's ESPN sob stories (oop. i meant journalism. very respectable journalism) that is full of so much bullshit, the sources of it (his Hollywood management corporation) had to wipe their mouths with toilet tissue after spewing this bullshit.

-"lando isn't actually talented, they just design the car around him, and according to the almighty ricciardone, it's undrivable so he would flop if he switched teams." A) why is lando's loyalty always attacked by daniel and his team? sorry the old man is reminiscing on his career and having regrets now, but nobody made him leave red bull. that's a choice he made all on his own because he had a younger, faster teammate (he and his fans also spun that as red bull sabotaging him, yet now he's begging to go back, funny he exposes his lies himself). B) James Key, thank fuck he's gone, even mentioned designing the 2022 car with daniel's feedback specifically in mind to make him more comfortable. yet he regressed further. lando has never once, with any mclaren, said "yes, this is 100% what i want in a car." hell, he just got p2 and spent much of the weekend complaining about how shit the car's balance was, lando is just talented enough to drive around that stuff. has nothing to do with the car being designed around him.

-then there was the (again, if he doesn't care not to weaponize something against lando that lando has spoken about impacting his mental health (and is even celebrated and cheered on for it), why the fuck do we have to treat daniel with special care and not bring up his MULTIPLE failures because "pOOR BABY WABY DANNY'S MENTAL HEALTH") whole "I've never thrown away a win like lando has." Yet …. to get that win, he needed the two top drivers to crash out and his teammate to be told he isn't allowed to fight for his maiden win. similarly, lando was there to fight and defend daniel. yet, regularly how it worked with the chronic victim, he's nowhere in sight when it's time to return the favor and actually help his teammate. i can say this with 100% confidence: had carlos been with the team in 2021, both he and lando would be GP winners right now. lando led the majority of that race — no team orders, no teammate around for help at all — yet in the end, it was a team strategy decision that costed him. nothing to do with his driving abilities at all (like the reason daniel lost his seat for).

fuck daniel ricciardo. i can say that with 100% confidence too. thrilled to see him fail again, hopefully maybe then the racist old jerks at Red Bull will give yuki the recognition he deserves but i doubt it.

Hi, new Fruba fan here. So, I just finished the anime last year then I went to read the manga, too. And WOW! It's so beautiful, I love it (especially Tohru, my 1# fav character from Fruba)...

As someone who have fed up with het romance, I'm surprised that I still love this series that is full of m/f ships.

Can I ask something? Do you think it's weird, that as much as I love Tohru (she have become in my top 10 fav female characters in anime/manga), I don't really like her ship with Kyo (not because I hate his character)? But I just wish she was happy without the romantic relationships.

And as a fujo, my fav ships from Fruits Basket are : Yuki/Kakeru & Kyo/Yuki (yes, Yuki is my 2nd fav in Fruba), Ayame/Hatori, and Uotani/Hanajima (to me they're so like girlfriends). Sorry if I'm weird....

Fruits Basket is such a complex show chock-full of detailed characters that I can't blame anyone for most of their ships. Nearly every character has a deep relationship with multiple other characters, so who's to decide what's romantic and what's not?

Of course, everyone is neatly paired off by the end, but some of them do feel like they've just been shoved together so they're not at a loose end. I've never read the manga so I understand I'm missing a lot from the background relationships but that's how life goes sometimes!

"Do you think it's weird?" is probably the wrong question to ask. I don't agree with you, because I like Tohru & Kyo. I do, however, understand that it would be nice for her to experience the all-encompassing love she deserves without it having romantic connotations. I would argue, though, that she gets unconditional love from almost every character in this series!! So Kyo is free to fall in love.

I genuinely admire your ability to stare directly into a show full of het romances and decide everyone's queer. I love your life outlook! There are some ships that I truly wish I shipped, like Ayame/Hatori. By that I mean that I see everything that would make them a good ship, but for some reason my brain just can't see them as a couple? But objectively I like them together. Uotani and Hanajima, too - they definitely both strike me as queer characters, so why not be together? And you know yukeru is one of my favourites of all time!!

I will probably never get along with Yuki/Kyo. It makes 0 sense to me, but I know why people ship it. Y'all love an enemies-to-lovers!!

Overall, I do wish there was less romance in fruba, if that makes sense. There's so many rich platonic relationships just waiting to be explored...I wish Ayame & Hatori didn't have interests, for example, and we saw more mabudachi trio. I hope you see where I'm coming from...

Uni been kicking my ass, but here's a drabble from the Full Moon fic (Werewolf Ryomina fic)

Emerging from the corn field was a tall woman, around 8’7, who had black hair that was not longer than just barely past her shoulder, pushed back like a lion’s mane, and eyes quite red. Her skin was quite a bit pale, and she was dressed in black.

“Ah, Nyx! This is Makoto Yuki, he’s helping with the Black Death!” Erebus called.

“Hey, share some of that height with the rest of us!” Makoto joked, “Some of us are in need of inches.”

The comment got Nyx laughing, as it was quite clear that she had never heard that specific comment before. 

“That’s a new one!” Nyx chuckled.

“Anyways, this is my wife, Nyx Mochizuki,” Erebus introduced, “She’s tall because of gigantism. Being a giant lady has its perks, but one of them is terrible back pain.”

“Says the one who has pelvis problems,” Nyx muttered.

“Hey- in my defense, it’s your fault!”

“Yeah, but you were the one who begged me to do it.”

“Hush, you know I like it rough!”

“How long have you two been married?” Makoto asked.

“We’ve been married long enough,” Nyx answered vaguely.

“Honey, it’s only been almost 20 years.”

“Oh hush, Erie.”

“Anyways-” Makoto tried to refocus their attention, “I heard from Erebus that your son saw the Black Death.”

“Oh- yes, the Black Death. I’ve only known about it from the grapevine, but apparently, it’s pretty smart. It can leave behind compensation for the lost items, and can work stuff that we can work with.”

“Really?”

“Yep. It also has escaped many traps, so it’s going to be tough catching it- anyways, why are you asking?”

“I was asked by the mayor to take care of it.”

“Oof, Kirijo-san’s very tough to work under.”

“Ahhh, but I bet this boy can do it!” Erebus chuckled.

“Oh yeah! Makoto’s pretty good at taking down werewolves-” Junpei realized, “I remember there was a red werewolf that had some sort of blade on its head and he took care of it!”

“Medea?” Makoto answered.

“Yeah- that! I remember that it took my pigs and my Star-of-Bethlehems! Too bad Chidori moved away after that, but I don’t blame her, she was prolly scared.”

Makoto knew exactly who Medea was. He was the one who put her in the sanctuary far from people. She was worried she would never see Junpei again. However, he told her that once everything settles down, then he will tell Junpei about the location. With that information, Chidori agreed to live her life in that sanctuary, for both her sake and Junpei’s. 

“How do you even do it anyways?” Junpei asked.

“Well, as much as they are wild, they don’t really deserve to be killed slowly. They just get a fast death,” Makoto lied.

Nyx looked at Erebus briefly, seemingly with doubt.

“Wow, so even though you hunt werewolves, you still treat them humanely?”

“Yep. My sister said it’s like putting down a rabid dog.”

“Ohh.”

“That’s one way to put it,” Erebus commented dryly.

“Well, I’m just quoting what she said.”

“Well, I think you should be careful this full moon,” Nyx mentioned, “I’ve heard from Ryoji that he saw a much larger werewolf with the Black Death.”

“Oh, thanks for that, Nyx!”

“You’re welcome.”

“I’ll let you know how it goes,” Makoto promised.

“Please be safe!” Erebus bid adieu.

“You can do it!” Junpei encouraged.

Makoto, while rolling his eyes from Junpei’s encouragement, did smile a bit. He left the farm with valuable information: the Black Death is smart enough to break out of traps, it is able to leave behind compensation, and is also seen with a much larger werewolf not known to the town.

He met back up with Orpheus, who was talking with some women about the topic.

“You are so brave for taking it on!” one of the girls gushed.

“I’m scared, but as long as I have Makoto and Kotone, I should be fine-” he noticed Makoto, “Speak of the devil- did you find anything?”

“I was at the Mochizuki household earlier and I learned some pretty cool things.”

“From Mr. Mochizuki?”

“Yep. You remember how Junpei whined about losing sheep?”

“Very vividly.”

“The Black Death left behind a bag of coins as compensation.”

“Wow.”

“And it can break out of traps.”

Orpheus’s face paled as Makoto continued.

“And apparently, it doesn’t hunt alone. There’s a much larger one out there.”

“Makoto, we are really in over our heads.”

“Oh relax, Orpheus! The bigger ones usually have more problems than a broken factory! It’ll be a piece of cake to trap them both.”

“Still! The Black Death is smart!”

“You forget that Koto’s plans usually work out?”

“Oh right- out of the three of us, that wildcard comes up with the craziest, yet stupidly-working plans.”

“Like I said, the worst that could happen is that at least one of us gets bitten.”

Todo - AYYYYYYY. Kyoto student found in the wild quick catch them before they get into the sea of irrelevancy. Ok that was too harsh but I’m proud of the Todo fans for getting him up there. He truly is the homie of the jjk world hopefully he keeps his placement because he’s too cool to not be on this list.

Utahime - OMG OMG OMG OMG. This was very unexpected. I thought Shoko would be here (she’s 24th) but I am grateful for it. The voice at the back of my head is trying to say that it’s cause of the shipping but I am ignoring it to focus on my girl entirely. Congrats everyone. If she manages to get in the top 15 again, do you think Gege will add more to her character. Nah he’ll probably just put her on the hit list which is not what we want to see here.

-as far as i've seen, the reactions to the finale have been overwhelmingly positive and my heart is at peace. it’s what aot deserves.

-i just want to know! did eren explicitly tell mikasa about the mouth, ymir, and visiting the others, or did she sense it path-like and they just committed to the living together scenario until the end?!

-i guess there were two paths. one path, eren ends up with mikasa and condemns paradis. the other path, eren ends up with armin. in hell. and condemns the world.

-EREN'S REFLECTION ON THE WINDOW HAS THE TITAN MARKS

-YES ARMIN GRAB THAT LIL BITCH'S HAIR (i love you eren, but.)

-how is aot so heartwarming amidst all this tragedy. there's just these moments that are so heartwarming. that’s the point, isn’t it -it's an excellent choice that they delayed eren telling armin that 80% of humanity dies. it makes sense for armin to chat and enjoy the sights when in his mind the only place that's been destroyed for sure is marley, their natural enemy.

-"ONLY IMYR KNOWS" MY ASS! WE KNOW WHY, EREH! because mikasa was a strong woman who loved deeply the one person who could actually get to the paths and bring about change and cause mikasa to bring about change! idiot to the end. i'm sure armin will explain it to you the next time after the next time.

-lil snek armin wanting to provoke a reaction from eren with his mikasa stuff

-it's so armin, to want to bear eren's sins together with him, and it's so damn heartwarming seeing eren so moved at realizing he's not alone and that he won't be alone and i just, argh, ARGH. eren seeing that he's so unconditionally loved, armin accepting his own responsibility, like, "you're not alone, you were never alone, you weren't driven to this alone, you should not be blamed alone, you should not bear it alone." and they're FINE with that, is the thing. they find peace in that, in the fact that they'll share the burden and be in hell *together.* what's interesting to me is that eren doesn't contradict armin. he doesn't tell him "no, you're not going to hell." either he understands and acknowledges armin's complicity and sins in general, or he just appreciates the thought, i can’t decide, but either way he feels relief. eren and armin, i cry. they always had a strong relationship, but this just elevates them to top friendships of all time. the anime strengthens their bond so incredibly much. through their shared fate, friendship, goals and crimes, they will end up together because they paved this road together - along with so many others, with so many good intentions. it's this relationship that shone the most to me in the anime ending, whereas in the manga ending the focus feels more on mikasa (ofc marina inoue also killed it throughout the ep, so she elevated armin by 110%). -and visually: the hair and teeth on eren's hand vs the seashell in armin's, both covered in blood. armin, in the midst of hell, giving eren a symbol of peace, freedom, life. armin, eren's ride-or-die, who formed eren and eren formed him, showing eren that he will never leave him alone, smiling as he says they'll be together forever. eren finding peace and relief in the fact during his darkest moment. -i respect armin's acknowledgement that he is the catalyst of eren's idea of the outside world, and that he played a role in everything. eren the founding titan didn't sprout off the earth like a cabbage, he was led to this by every single person in his life and by his own personality, everyone is complicit. but armin, bb, that's not why you're going to hell if any of you go to hell. i'm pretty sure pre-rumbling, armin is the paradis soldier with the highest kill count of civilians, out of a plan he orchestrated. he leveled marley's port and everything surrounding it. let's start from there, lil cinnamon roll, yes? -it's interesting to see how differently eren's two strongest relationships play out in the end. for mikasa, he creates a dream scenario, a clean-cut version of himself that's genuine but not his current state, the what would-have-been if mikasa had given a different answer. mikasa needs calmness, kindness, an anchor, and that’s what eren gives her, the part of him that she never fails to see even when eren’s at his worst. to armin, he's his current self in all his glory. scared, pathetic, self-loathing, confused, messed-up, kind (eren's always been kind, that's as non-debatable for me as it is for mikasa), insightful etc. he cries, he screams, he reasons, he loves. he hugs armin so hard. he hides nothing, because armin's always seen eren's ugly side and vice versa. armin needs truth, not kindness. in a way, mikasa sees through eren’s worst self, whereas armin accepts eren’s worst self for what it is, and both are right, and both love him as he is, as they are.

-mikasa has been so alone, man. so alone. i HOPE that's jean. i hope it's jean that’s with her. no one could understand her better than he can -excellent choice that they show what levi et all are doing three years later, instead of where they are. nice that they're addressing the environmental aspect of it all. -i don’t know how to conclude this. aot is a masterpiece, and although in many ways it’s been a torture getting to know it, i love it with all i have. i cherish the characters deeply, i adore the story, i am in awe of the world-building, and it’s affected me so deeply and profoundly that i feel bonded to it. it’s something really close to my heart.

Don’t get me wrong I only started watching F1 at the end of 2020, and 2021 fully made me watch and the passion Max would drive that Redbull I can honestly see why my brother is a big fan of Max, I got the subscription of F1 Tv to watch back on past races (being from England and watching Sky 🫠) I watched Max’s first win in Spain and they way he kept Kimi behind him, no one can take away Max’s accomplishments, I see comments like FIA in Jos pockets and I’m like huh 🫠 really 😂, it’s time for the Youngsters to shine now it’s a new era of racers.

Out of the Sky commentators I really like Jenson he’s never bias he will call out Lewis and Max and give detailed discussions why, Naomi sometimes I’m like yessss and others I’m like really (the Max, George Baku debate), Martin I’m so/so with him I seen past races when he’s like I’m a big fan of Max.

As a journalist/Commentator you have to be neutral over everything even if you like that person.

The reason why I came with the receipts is because we all know people would bash me and say that I’m lying (google is there for a reason).

Yuki may be my favourite driver but I will cheer Max on and honestly the Max fans I’ve seen on here are so respectful, and the way they defend him and the F1 drivers, the Lewis fans on here well I’ve only seen a very fair few that like Max.

The bullying and abuse Max gets is horrible and wrong, the racist abuse Lewis gets is horrible both should never get that and I look at these people on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and I’m like why would you do this you cyber bully someone how would you like it if someone you know, your kid, your sibling got cyber bullied or if in the future they get called by their kids school saying that their kid is cyber bullying people and their kid turns round saying you did it honestly i do not get people.

Yes the drivers say things that makes you question them, yes you may dislike a driver that’s fine but why abuse them on social media, when I saw them fans in Miami flipping Max off and telling him to Fu*k Off I’m like you’ve spent £1,000+ on tickets just to do that wtf.

I will fully defend Max no matter what he’s done nothing but put his life into racing.

I would absolutely love for Max to win Brazil and Sliverstone and Mexico this year just to spite all the Lewis British and Brazilian fans and even the toxic Checo fans.

F1tv has honestly been a blessing. I’ve watched the full seasons since 2015 when Max joined and even in 2015 he was genuinely a joy to watch, annoying the living life out of everyone (except Nando) for being 17. People comment sometimes saying he’s a paid driver but when you do a deep dive into his stats as a child I mean Jesus they are so so impressive and also no amount of pull could get a 17 year old into a car if he wasn’t insanely talented. Which Max is.

I fully don’t like any of the commentators except Jenson. They have chatted so much shit since Baku and the start of the season. Constantly acting like Max is ruining the sport, is a spoilt child when he’s just Max. They choose to be ignorant of who he is, the way he is and the talent he is because he’s not British and it’s a shame. I swear the amount of times I’ve seen them trying to say George would match Max is literally criminal.

Honestly I’ve really strong opinions on the hate Max gets and how it’s seen as basically okay. It’s been that way since 2021 when Merc and lh would send their fans to abuse Max but give out about the booing or cheers in 2022 when they sat by and said nothing about their fans week in week out wishing death on Max, his gf, his mother, his sister and her two little boys. The hate Max gets is according to some “deserved” all because he destroyed Merc in 2021. He out drove Lewis in 70% of the time when Merc didn’t take him out. I think the abuse not being called out is fucking vile and that’s why I constantly call it out.

rengoku (the literal love of my life, the one who started it all, the main reason i got into anime, the cure to my depression at one point?? i get emotional just thinking about him sometimes. i go back and listen to the mugen train soundtrack just to hurt my own feelings)

shinobu (🦋 [can't add my blog tag for her cause it's an emoji but she has some of the prettiest fanart ever], gorgeous character design, color scheme, overall aesthetic, classy. she deserved more out of her life than being in a constant state of anger 😭)

inosuke (i have no tag for him but he is my fav from the main squad. he is chaotic as hell and caveman-ish in the most hilarious ways. his pretty face makes it that much more ironic)

nezuko (the cutest baddie ever. so pretty. protective of tanjiro and comrades. how can you not love her)

geto (oh geto (be forewarned: only depression posts in this tag). it hurt me so bad to see his descent into madness. i think his story and especially his relationship with gojo is beautifully written. the visual symbolism is also heavenly in the most melancholic way. he reminds me a lot of eren from aot. i felt his exhaustion and hopelessness from the depths of my soul. i think about rengoku when i want to be hurt in a good(ish?) way, but geto is my go-to when i'm in the mood for straight depression)

yuta (a blorbo if I've ever seen one. so precious. very sad about his current state. if gege kills him off there will be no one left 😭)

choso (normally i don't care for emo boys but he's so 'i am onii-chan,' it's endearing and also kind of funny. other than that he's really quiet for the most part but also like responsible and cares a lot about people he's close to. i ship him and yuki. i remember finding out about his death when i'd first logged into tumblr one day and i was devastated. how does gege manage to kill everyone 😭🤡)
