Yaxley FC and Peterborough City to merge

And so just a year after it was predicted by most people, Yaxley FC and Peterborough City FC have merged to become one new club for the village (and hopefully Hampton and Great Haddon) to get behind.

When DFC holdings took on the Leading Drove facility last summer and owner David Cattermoul formally moved in his PCFC outfit there was a lot of opinion as what that meant.

Most of the scenarios I was party to were doomsday for the Cuckoos with the new hosts taking on the stadium and YFC being pushed out. Maybe to the Peterborough League and back to their old Middletons Road base, maybe being consigned to history.

Fortunately it looks like that might have been too cynical and we now see the merger meaning the Cuckoos being back as part of the club as opposed to (what appeared to be) tennants paying a rent.

The thought of what could have happened has hung large over those involved with the club this season so to finish 7th in the UCL Prem South whilst these negotiations were ongoing (I assume) shows real positivity and dedication.

What happens going forward?

It's early days for that but the important parts of the announcement I took were the full and proper return of junior and womens football to the club and the building of a pathway that inspires the young people of the area to think there is a journey to first team football they can embark on. Whatever their age.

But what I will say is whoever reads this and is based in the area, please forget what has happened in the past and get behind the new venture.

The club absolutely needs support and volunteers to be the best version of itself.

A 5 year comeback for the Yellow Fried Chickenz...

I don't know how to feel about this. On one hand sure, I missed his singing but I thought the reason why he didn't do music anyway, now, was a matter of health. I mean he lost his voice last year or the one before, his illness hit his chords so I thought that he wouldn't risk it again. And I think he had teased a potential new album at some point but it never came so I'd really thought that was the reason.

Also this project of Gackt's had a....well, it had a concept I guess, one more focused on his opinions on how men should act I guess? I don't know if you remember but during YFC's first run, he had made a concert only for men, to teach them how to not be "vegeterian" as he'd put it, be more "carnivorous", but not in the way we say it in the west, he just wanted shy men to be more forward with women and of course be silly as a man around men, many bands do men-only or women-only shows. But yeah how I read this is either 1) he wants to try being in an actual band one last time before resigning or 2) there is one last lesson he wants to share before resigning. Probably the first one.

Perhaps he will do a biiiig bang and after the 5years release a new solo album but I doubt it, cause I remember when he was 40 or 41, he'd done that interview with Arashi, and he had said he wished to give his all now that he is young and resign early. He wanted to have a peaceful retiring era and he imagined he'd die with a piece of rice on his lips sth like that xD, it was an interesting imagery what he'd described. But nb has asked him about this since then, so I thought he just changed his mind and wanted to work a few years longer. But he had made it clear that he will stop music early and focus on other things.
