Quiet knocks are his only warning before Toujou pushes the wooden door open, balancing a tray in one hand. Silently she makes her way towards the detective, a small, yet concerned, smile on her face.

“I believe a break would be wise, Saihara-kun,” gently, she utters. Although not privy to the detective's work, she was aware that he was mulling over it for an extended period of time ( ...not that she could speak much on the matter ) and she was happy to comply with the given order of ‘looking out for Saihara-chan’―regardless of where her opinions lay of who the requester was. “Would you like some tea? You must be parched cooped up in here for so long.”

While Shuichi wouldn't exactly call some cases 'easy' to solve, there were some he solved more quickly than others; ...and some that could become surprisingly difficult than initially expected. The case he was currently tackling... he was practically at the finish line. The suspect was guilty of a sea of crimes: workplace abuse, fraud, infidelity... everything a corrupted president of a big company can be.

The problem, however: was being able to eliminate every possibility that anyone could have been the perpetrator behind everything. This was how this man was able to get away with everything for so long to begin with; he was untouchable. No matter how often people tried to report the things he did, no matter how obvious it was that man did it.. With bribery, with threats, manipulation... He would use everything at his disposal to get away with it without any consequences. His client, one of the workers that had been at that company the longest, begged him to take that man down for good. The fate of all those poor workers were riding on his shoulders; frustrating at it was, he absolutely refuses to give up....

"Ah...." At the sound of the knocks to his door before it's opened, he looks towards it, eyes widening in surprise when seeing it's Kirumi. "Toujo-san...! Oh..." A break....the one thing he did not take in the hours he's been cooped up in here mulling over this case. He has been stressing over this for so long, he didn't realize how much time had passed...

"Y... Yes, please. Thank you.... Yeah, I am. I didn't even realize..." He weakly chuckles. That, and the migraine that was knocking at his head, too. Tea would definitely help right now....He will accept the tea with a smile, before taking a small sip, humming as he favors the flavor. He could already feel some of his stress melting away....
